Experiencia negativa: My dog was injured by the staff at great northwest animal hospital.improperly using a slip lead leash that had no protective stopper to prevent choking. My dog was returned from his examination with both his eyes bright red from the amount of pressure from that leash.it made the blood vessels in both eyes burst.he was like this for 6 days.this hospital is dangerous,the staff never apologized they avoided speaking with me. My bill was almost 700 dollars which was paid to them. That's all they cared about . Be warned taking your pet to this place could result in your pet being badly injured, traumatized or worse.

Experiencia negativa: This place gives $10 discounts for good reviews. Probably not ethical. But thats what they do to get such a high rating. After spending over $3000 in just a month to diagnose my dogs illness, I was not even seen for his bloodwork procedure. They sent a technician out to the lobby to get him from me while I was there for my 2nd dogs teeth cleaning. When i returned to pick her up. They sent out another tech to give me my sick dogs blood results and printed diagnosis. No explanation of the results or prognosis. I was sent away with a prescription. I asked about a follow up or any more explanation about his health. I was told that dr. C. Johnston would rieach out to me by phone or an appointment. Never happened. I never heard back about my dogs test results or diagnosis!!!! Thenmy dogs prescription ran out. He developed worse symptoms after 2 weeks with no meds. I had ro request a refill through Chewy.com. it took 3 days for GNWAH to approve his meds. Then I get a call asking if I want a refill through gnwah instead. They didn't even know I was already charged and shipped his meds from Chewy.com Then they want to know if I want to follow up on his testing. Follow up what!?!?!?! They never spoke to me about what his bloodwork meant! I was never spoken to about his results or diagnosis from a month and a half ago! The girl on the phone ignored my concerns and they sound like they couldn't care any less about their lack of follow up. The Dr. sounded so interested in helping at first. How could they just ghost their patient after charging me all that money. And leaving me and my dog to figure out something else to do for his medication. All while his condition worsened. Beyond upset and disgusted that such clueless careless people sit there and act like they care at all about anything than bringing in easy money by volume. Ridiculous joke. Total waste of money as I will have to start over and find another place that can commit to helping my dog and not forget about him as soon as they charged as much as possible for the routine visits.

Experiencia negativa: ...I don't even know where to begin. What was supposed to be a routine surgery turned into our worst nightmare. GNWA has always taken such great care of our boys with routine care however, we learned that they are absolutely horrible when it comes to surgery as well as post operation care. We were told that our dog had happy tail and that he needed to have his tail docked and that there was no other way. That was $2K, then 3 days after surgery they took his bandage off and he was still bleeding as well extremely active and in pain. We took him back 5 times and every time we went back due to bandages coming off, stitches being torn, medication not working and then full blown tail rot..... We were told that worst case we would need to put our poor 6yr pup down for something so routine.....the lack of care,constant fees for literally trash (bandages) was absolutely ridiculous. They also kept blaming our dog for the reason he wasn't healing and that it was his breed (his a mutt btw) yet no one took any responsibility on the fact that they butchered our dogs tail, left tension and caused an infection..we ended up spending $4k just for them to say he needed another surgery after dealing with this for a month. Luckily we got a second opinion from an amazing vet but we will no longer be bringing our precious boys here. What use to be a clinic where owners and animals were put first has turned into a huge money scheme. Save your money and your pets and go somewhere where they actually matter.

Even though it was heartbreaking, Dr. Connor Chandler, DVM, was incredibly compassionate, gentle, and understanding, and she treated both my dog and me with so much care and respect. She took the time to explain his condition and helped me feel at peace that I was doing the right thing for him. I am very grateful that his final moments were calm, dignified, and surrounded by people who truly cared.

She always took the time to explain things clearly, offered thoughtful treatment options, and was never too busy to answer a question or return a call. Whether it was adjusting medications, coordinating with specialists, or simply checking in, her dedication went far beyond routine care. In these past months, as Rouchill’s condition has become more complex and challenging, Dr. Arroyo has continued to stand by our side. She has coordinated with experts from Texas A&M, shared difficult truths with sensitivity and honesty, and made sure every decision was centered on Rouchill’s comfort and well-being. Even in moments of heartbreak, I’ve never felt alone because Dr. Arroyo has been there every step of the way. Rouchill is still fighting, and I truly believe the quality of life he’s had, through ups and downs, is because of Dr. Arroyo’s compassionate care. Experiencia fantástica: We are so grateful for Dr.Arroyo and the vet techs here at GNW! We took in Maki for a second opinion because she wasn’t feeling better after we took her to another vet. Dr.Arroyo listened to our concerns and was super helpful and kind to Maki and us! She set a plan of action and even a back up plan in case Maki wasn’t feeling better. Within 2 days, Maki was back to her normal self. They even followed up the next week with a phone call to ask how she was doing. Maki will be using Dr.Arroyo and this office as her primary vet from here on out!

Way, WAY, better experience than those corporate places like Petco or PetSmart. If you like the idea of being with your dog during normal checkups, instead of locking them in cages for half the day, this is 100% the place for you. I have been to this clinic several times between my Lilly and my Daisy and my fur grand babies Concha and Luna and I think this is the best clinic and staff in San Antonio.

Experiencia negativa: We’ve been coming to GNAH ever since we got our corgi at 4 months old. Or first impression was a little rocky since our rabies tag got stuck in the fax/copier and ripped off the original paperwork.. no biggie. We came back later for it. Then one or two visits later, we were getting his fourth and last parvo shot, which we found out had been “misadministered” by our vet and they were going to readminister the shot at the next appointment. No charge. Except they did charge us for their mistake. I called to inform them of their error and was given a refund for the charge after they checked with accounts receivable. Last year, my dog had a tummy ache, and the vet tech SCOFFED at me when I told her that we gave him blueberries and carrots sometimes (in hopes he doesn’t get cancer one day). I spoke to her later on the phone and explained WHY and she asked the vet if what I fed him was safe, and the vet said it was safe in moderation, which is what I do. I don’t have a blueberry budget for my dog. $1000 tummy ache though. I guess I’m naive because we kept going back. Which leads us to the current issue… Last week I took my dog in for routine vaccinations and I was offered a complimentary nail trim. I thought it would be okay to have them rounded out but I had trimmed them already within the last month. The girl was super nice and explained how they trimmed all the way down a bit shorter to the quick. Cool. On the way home, my dog started licking his front right paw nonstop. It became apparent that he had an infection after keeping an eye on it. It was getting super red. This was obvious to us that it correlated to the nail service. I made an appointment to have the vet look at his paw and we were slapped with a $137 vet bill with meds. What a business model? No accountability. We take our dog in to be treated and we come home with extra issues, only to be charged extra to have that new issue fixed. Common sense. Rectify the situation and we would have continued to bring our dog back. We were planning to bring him back in November for bloodwork and the new flea/tick vaccination. That’s about $550+ visit. We will not be back after this experience. 2 stars only because the staff is very sweet. Would add a picture but his paw is so sensitive, I can’t keep it steady long enough to take a clear photo.

Experiencia positiva: I’ve been bringing my pets here for the past two years and have generally had good experiences. But yesterday, I brought my dog in after noticing blood in her urine. I didn’t see her regular veterinarian, I saw Dr. Chandler, who was professional and thorough. My concern, however, was with the vet tech during this visit. She came across as condescending when discussing the treatment plan and payment. I understand the importance of vaccinations, but not every pet owner can address everything in one visit and low-cost vaccine clinics are a valid option for routine shots. I felt judged for mentioning that, which was frustrating. Additionally, during the exam, she continued offering my dog a cat treat (Churu) even though my dog was clearly nervous and uninterested. It felt dismissive, and like she wasn’t acknowledging me as my dog’s owner when I said she didn't want it. Overall, I felt the interaction lacked empathy and professionalism.

Experiencia fantástica: If I could give more than 5 stars for my experience today, I would. My dog is a new patient here, with today (Saturday) being her 2nd visit. She has been experiencing some discomfort that has really had me worried and stressed. I tried making an appointment online yesterday after work, however they were fully booked for Today, so I figured I can just walk in. However I did not know they do not take walk ins. It honestly didn’t even cross my mind that it was a possibility just because my previous vet took walk ins. GNWAH is not at fault for that at all. My mind was just so flustered, I didn’t think of it. I did get emotional in front of the staff, due to being so worried about my girl and now finding out they were fully booked and she could not be seen. I asked for some suggestions to other vet clinics nearby I could look into, and they were kind enough to give me a list of emergency clinics. I then went to my car and honestly cried more just because I wanted my girl out of pain as soon as possible. I began making phone calls to nearby clinics and continued to do research, but had no luck. About an hour went by of me being outside researching, and GNWAH texted me saying the doctor has a moment in her schedule and can see my baby if I can bring her in. Still being outside, I brought her in immediately. They were able to find out what was wrong with her and thoroughly communicated with me along the way about EVERYTHING. I am so incredibly glad they were able to help my baby on such short notice, and so grateful they went out of their way to reach out to me when I don’t think many people would. I will 100% be coming back for all of my baby’s future needs.

This past Saturday, we had to rush our 6 yr old cat Oliver to the emergency vet due to a urinary tract obstruction. It was an incredibly stressful and costly ordeal and the emergency vet strongly recommended we follow up with a regular veterinarian within 48 hours. Our previous vet had closed down and we’d been struggling to find a good replacement. After some research, I came across this clinic. Initially, I was drawn to it because of its proximity to our home, but what really stood out were the glowing reviews. Being one of the highest rated veterinary clinics in the area, I decided to give them a try and I’m so glad I did. From the moment I called to make an appointment, I knew I might’ve found the right place. The receptionist was incredibly kind and helpful. We needed an appointment as soon as possible, so I didn’t have the chance to look into the individual vets beforehand. They scheduled us with Dr. Chandler and it turned out to be the perfect choice! Dr. Chandler was amazing, kind, informative, and exceptionally patient. She took her time with Oliver, was very thorough, and answered every single question and concern we had. My girlfriend and I have been searching for a vet like her for a long time and we’re thrilled to have finally found one. The entire staff was wonderful, from start to finish. Their kindness and professionalism made what could have been another stressful visit into a positive and reassuring experience. I’ve already decided to bring my other two pets (our dog and other cat) here to establish care with Dr. Chandler. I highly recommend Great Northwest Animal Hospital to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate veterinary team. They truly live up to their stellar reputation!

Now they take care of Kevin, Smudge, Jax, Lemon And Hades. Dr. Travis and Dr. Johnston are the absolute best! You can tell everyone from the front desk to grooming loves their jobs, my animals are always well taken care of. I recommend them to anyone and everyone. The prices are great and the care is unmatched!

Dr. Saunders also gave them a thorough exam and further examined two of the puppies that showed signs of injury. Dr. Saunders also emailed us a detailed care guides for us to follow for the puppy care. I would recommend this vet clinic as they are really great to animals.

She also allowed us to put our kitten back into a warm sock to keep it calm as she transported it throughout the vet clinic for x-rays. We greatly appreciated her understanding, even if we were being a little overprotective of this newly-rescued kitten, lol! Experiencia negativa: The staff is knowledgeable and the care they provide is great the only reason they get one stars is due to the lack of time management. Had an appointment on a Thursday at 9am waited until 10am and never saw a vet therefore left. My wife dropped our dog off this morning at 7:30am and when we called at 2pm they stated they had just started on him. They do not respect other people’s time, and I don’t want my dog sitting in a kennel for 6hours I would have dropped him off at 2 if that’s when you were going to start. They need to be more transparent on times and scheduling.

They are also very understanding of pet owners who are emotionally expressive. We’ve had both cats and dogs here, and this has been the best veterinarian office we’ve ever used!

Dr. Johnston is wonderful, all the staff are wonderful, and the environment is very clean and welcoming. 100% recommend.

Experiencia fantástica: UPDATE. Stormy, the Ops Manager is fantastic. She helped with an incredibly complex travel process for my dogs. I highly recommend this place for your babies. The doctors and crew at GNW Animal Hospital have taken good care of my babies for several years now. I appreciate how attentive the have been.

Experiencia fantástica: I'm particular about vets and vet clinic chains and wary about visiting new ones. I used to live in this area and go to this office as needed but have moved a few times since then. Recently my dog got seriously sick and I didn't know where to take her. I decided to bring her back to this office that I hadn't visited in years and they were friendly, welcoming and properly concerned with my dog's issues. They're never overbooked and the office is clean and the people are personal. They gave me different options in different price points and weren't pushy.

Experiencia fantástica: The entire staff was exceptionally kind to my Yorkie and myself; the veterinarian's office was impeccably clean. Dr. Chandler was personable and thorough, and I never felt rushed. I would also like to commend Melania and Annette. Melania was very informative and helpful. Annette, at the front desk, was also incredibly personable and genuine.

Experiencia fantástica: I love the personalized care my animals get. The staff are knowledgeable, very friendly, and I trust the vet we see there (Dr. Johnston). My dog needed a tooth extracted and I love that I can just text them with concerns and photos of my animals and they give me timely feedback. The car is exceptional and the cost is fair in my opinion. They give you good alternative options of care (the most inclusive, moderate options, bare minimum) which is nice when having to care for a pet on a budget. I recommend them to all my friends!

Experiencia fantástica: Really good experience here. Everything is very clean. i got a full brakedown for pricing before they did anything. Free ultrasound for my cat found out she was pregnant. They were upfront about everything and didn't sugarcoat anything and offered locations that could be more affordable for vaccinations and getting cats fixed

Answers all your questions where you understand. She loves your fur babies as if they were her own. The office is always kept clean for you and your pets.

Experiencia fantástica: We came for an allergic reaction of my 8 month old puppy, at first I didn’t know what it was and I was scared, but luckily they had an opening for an appointment and it all went so smooth, felt so relaxed since I got there, mu puppy just got a shot and it was all good. A few days later they called to see how she was and that was so sweet, she was perfectly fine and, compared to other places they did not scared me just to get my money… I’m happy to find this place
