Experiencia negativa: 12 lb Shih Tzu bruised & covered in rubbing alcohol at visit. Very disappointed with my first visit there for rabies, distemper and required heart guard blood test in order to continue heartguard prescription. When he was brought back from supposed test in back his paw and the entire front of his chest was very wet- the tech said it was “just rubbing alcohol” - well that was a ton of liquid to clean a spot for a quick blood sample. Fast forward 3 days my groomer was concerned about the big bruise about 1/2” by 2 1/2” long on his neck. Remember this is a tiny dog. My precious docile and very sweet little Shih Tzu must have endured a pretty rough blood draw- I thought medicine had an oath DO NO HARM. They should have at least informed me of the issue- and of course not poured on the rubbing alcohol or cleaned off the spill? After 28 years of dogs this has never happened. The purple on the picture is the bruise-visible at the bottom and top the hair is disguising most in the middle-but it is tender so this is the best I can do.

Experiencia negativa: The vets and staff are fine but they have horrible customer service. I’ve had to call a few times for emergencies where I get put on hold forever while they go to “ask the vet”. I either wait on hold forever or get hung up on. I sometimes get told I will get a call back and they never do even if it’s an emergency. What put me over the edge today is I had a scheduled appointment that I had confirmed and was receiving calls and texts about but when I showed up nobody was here and the building was locked. It’s fine if you’re taking Christmas Eve off but don’t allow me to schedule if you won’t be here or at least call and let me know you won’t be here so I can reschedule. We will be changing vets asap Edit: The office took our dog out as a patient without letting us know so we stopped receiving prescriptions for her. This vet does not care about your animal

Experiencia fantástica: I have taken my dog to Wilmington Animal Healthcare for 3 years now and will never switch offices! They are consistently kind, professional, and quick. My last visit I was checked in and out by Haley - my dog is usually very timid of strangers, but he warmed right up to her - she was so nice and gentle! highly recommend this place.

Experiencia fantástica: I cannot even say how greatful I am to have chosen this vet office as my two labs new vet, I just moved to the area and was so extremely nervous about finding a good vet for them and my expectations were exceeded. The staff I dealt with today on our first visit were absolutley incredible, I have never had someone be so kind to not only my dogs but me as well. I hope every visit is the same in the future because I cried happy tears driving home from such relief. My babies are my world and it is huge to find a vet you love. Thank you to Dr. Paige and the wonderful vet tech we had for making us feel so comfortable and welcome.

Experiencia fantástica: I took my dog there a little over a month ago after leaving another vet in town. I am so glad I made the move. The staff is great. Vets are amazing,thorough and knowledgeable and since going she has had a much needed surgery that I didn’t even know she needed to fix a consistent uti problem. Surgery went great. Lots of communication before, during and after for follow up. She’s recovered nicely and has her pep in her step again! 5 stars!!!!

Experiencia fantástica: We have been having some concerns about our past vet but because we are moving in a month I was trying to hold out on switching but after the final straw with the past vet I had to do something. My baby is almost 16 with arthritis and dementia. I googled vets near us and Wilmington Animal Healthcare came up and is right around the corner. I just knew it was going to take months to get her in but it was worth a shot. They were able to see her the following week. Let me tell you... I wish we had switched years ago. Dr. Ward came in and immediately we knew we were in the right place this time. We went over the issues and she actually listened and not only that, she sat down in the floor with my dog and assessed her walking issues. We talked about the dreaded subject no pet parent wants to talk about but she did it with such kindness and I'm grateful for her honesty and compassion. I would give her a billion stars if I could! I'm kind of bummed now that we found a great vet and we can't keep her. But I highly recommend!

Experiencia negativa: Me nor my dog will NEVER walk foot inside this vet again. My dog just had a seizure last week ( never happened before) not sure about the secretary who answered the phone but my dog is my child so I was a mess and scared! I did what anyone would do called my dogs vet a hour prior to them closing for her to scoff over the phone and say "just take him to the emergency vet" i then replied thats going to be $1000 (it was last time we were there anyway) I said you have a hour prior to closing but she said they already took thier last patient. She then said try the new er vet and just gave me their phone number and got off the phone. I've never ran into a rude secretary here but due to her we will never be back and I hope and pray that this vet gets rid of her before she runs off even more business

Experiencia negativa: Extremely disappointed. This clinic sees my dog almost every month, so you’d think there would be some level of urgency or care especially when she is uncomfortable. I called at 9 AM to get a simple prescription refilled. They said they needed to check with the vet and would call me back. No one did. I called again at 2 PM and was told they still hadn’t heard from the vet. I went in myself at 3:45 PM, only to be told the vet never approved it and had already left for the day. No follow-up, no solution, no concern for the fact that my dog was in pain. For a clinic that sees her regularly, the lack of communication, accountability, and basic compassion is unacceptable.

Experiencia fantástica: We recently switched to this vet as they came highly recommended from many family members and friends. Our experience could not have been any better. I was so beyond pleased with our visit, I could have cried. They truly care about your pet and take their time to exam them... definitely not a rushed appointment. This is honestly the best customer service I have ever received, and the vet even sat down and talked to us for about 20 minutes. I also received a follow up call 2 days later from them as they were just calling to check on our dog. Hands down, the best vet in Wilmington and I have already recommended them to friends that use other vets in town. Thank you for being so kind, loving and patient!!

Experiencia positiva: Waited an hour past appointment time before seen. Recommended an expensive test. Before test results were available dog was already better from treatment for yeast ear infection and dog food to prevent diarrhea. So why did I need a $280 test. They need to do better with saying what is needed versus leaving it up to us to over spend.

Experiencia fantástica: We had to have our 14 year old fur baby put down yesterday. I can't be more thankful for how truly compassionate and comforting everyone was to us during this difficult time. As much as we dreaded having to do this, everyone was so kind and caring to us as we said goodbye to our Charlie. From Tori who took my call listening as I explained what was going on to helping me understand what we needed to do, to the Tech and Veterinarian who walked us through step by step what they would do and what was happening throughout the process. My pets have been going to Wilmington Animal Healthcare for 14+ years and I wouldn't trust my pets health to anyone else. I highly recommend if you are looking for a vet to care for your animals that you take them here.

Experiencia negativa: I normally have had very good interactions with Wilmington Animal Healthcare, but this has been my most recent experience: One of my dogs, after chasing their brother, pulled up and was non-weight bearing. After 24 hours I took her to the vet. This was an emergency visit, and the vet was kind enough to fit me in that day even though I had to wait, which was entirely reasonable. There was nothing they could find from my scans, so I was sent home with pain medication, instructions to keep her leashed when going outside, and to check back in after 2 weeks if she hasn't improved. 2 weeks go by, and she's still not improving, so I check back in, and then the next steps are that I should receive a call from an outside surgeon. That seems reasonable, so I hang up, and weeks go by, and I don't hear anything. Since then it's been well over a month, I've called Wilmington Animal Healthcare twice now, and both times it seems like I'm inconveniencing them by calling and find out what I should do. The best I get is the same response: "The surgeon is outside of our office, and will reach out when they reach out" essentially. Meanwhile my pet can't walk, and while sitting on hold the recording says I get exceptional care and customer service for my pet. The cold, hard truth is, that I don't feel like my pet's health is nearly the concern for them as it is for me. There's no sense of urgency, or a feeling of partnership to where the doctors there can discuss alternative options with me. I don't walk away from the interactions with the support there that I feel strongly they are advising me to the best course of action - instead it feels like the "path of least resistance" for them. All in all, I have been very turned off by this experience. I'm staying hopeful that my next follow-up with the doctor, and not support, will yield a some solid next steps, but I sure am running out of patience with them.

Experiencia negativa: Absolutely awful experience. Would give zero stars if I could. The staff at Wilmington Animal Healthcare have been consistently rude and unprofessional, and their delays have prolonged my dog’s pain. We originally scheduled surgery here but received no instructions the day before, and only after calling myself did I learn that my dog would be left unattended for 13 hours overnight after surgery. This made me extremely uneasy, especially since we were initially told he could go home the same day after a “simple” procedure. We decided to cancel and instead schedule surgery with ECVR, where pets are monitored 24/7 after surgery. However, despite canceling two weeks ago, I’ve still been unable to get the referral sent over. I’ve had to call repeatedly, and today I was again met with extreme disrespect and unprofessionalism. I even asked to speak with a manager before posting my concerns publicly, but I was told the only manager was away on maternity leave. Between incorrect scheduling, miscommunication, lack of responsiveness, and no management accountability, I cannot trust this clinic with my pet’s care. I would never bring an animal here again.

My dog is always eager to stay there when she realizes where we are. My cat was well cared also, but she simply didn't like going anywhere! I'm glad I found Wilmington Animal Healthcare.

Experiencia fantástica: When we moved down from Wilmington, we left a vet whom we had for 10 years. We wanted to find someone who would care for our pups as well as she did. We were fortunate to find your practice. Care is excellent, follow up is consistent and the vets top tier. We appreciate the urgent care ability although we have never been charged extra for it with our other vets.

Experiencia fantástica: I woke up to my 7 month old puppy having an allergic reaction to something (unsure of what she got into) and brought her in with no appointment on a Saturday. They took her back immediately and got her a couple of shots. She is doing much better! Thank you to the vet team. I can't recommend this place enough!

Experiencia negativa: I would get zero Stars if I could Terrible care. Bare minimum. Turned in sample for a worm check after being treated they tell me I need to bring another sample in to be tested talked to a manager an they say oh no we can still test it. So she still has worms an her test says negative. She still has worms an they discharge saying in impolite I wasn't close the impolite maybe a little angry because one you just took my money for a test that I don't even feel like you even did or did corrextnand I could care less if you have test results anybody can print them up. It's not right and I know it's not right because my dog still has worms and you don't want to treat her you're just as bad as the emergency vet all you guys care about is money and this is what the message for impolite was

Experiencia fantástica: The office was able to work my Maverick in when he was having an issue with his ear. They were quick, courteous, and professional. They treated my boy well. I do wish that vet care wasn't so expensive, but we do what we have to do for our babies.

Experiencia fantástica: Doctor Paige was absolutely amazing! The entire staff was so attentive, compassionate, and loving with Fiona, our elder dog. From the very beginning, it was clear that every client and pet is treated with respect, genuine care, and full attention to their needs. I am currently dog-sitting Fiona, a sweet “keen-ager” pup, for a very close friend who is overseas. With that comes a great deal of responsibility and trust—and I can honestly say that the trust and responsibility I feel was matched perfectly by the care and professionalism that Dr. Paige and her team provided. Their dedication gave me such peace of mind, knowing that Fiona is receiving not only excellent medical care, but also comfort and love in every interaction. Thanks to Dr. Paige and her assistants, this precious old “drop zone puppy” will continue to enjoy many more moments of comfort, happiness, and time outside. Experiencia negativa: My wife booked an appointment a week ago for one of our dogs. We arrived today, 10 minutes early, waited for 40 minutes and when I asked how far behind schedule they were, I was told we were being “worked in”. I asked how this could be possible, we scheduled a 3:00pm appointment a week ago? The truth is, we would have been understanding and definitely not posted a 1-star review if someone, anyone, there would have demonstrated a sense of concern of responsibility for the mistake. The Doctors are all very knowledgeable in a wide array of issues and explain everything to you in layman’s terms. Prices are comparable to other hospitals. I have been going there for several years and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend them for numerous reasons.

She leaned on the when they picked her up, she was comfortable with them. I live in supply, nearly an hour away, I went here because of the reviews about quality of care and their kindness. Experiencia fantástica: This veterinarian is the best I’ve ever experienced. They listen to you, ask many questions, and take care of every issue who bring to them. Dr. Rossini is the best of the best. I’ve never had a vet so invested in my dog, and I’ve had animals my entire life. The facility is extremely clean, large and has minimum 4 front desk representatives every time I’ve been. So checks in and out are relatively quick. They even have an Urgent Care they run for walk-ins. That alone prevents you from having to resort to the Emergency Vet, that we know is quite expensive. Also, something I’ve never seen at a vet is a potty section and trash cans and running clean water fountain at the front of the property so you can exit your vehicle and walk a short distance to relieve your pets. It’s as if they’ve thought of everything. If you need a new vet, I highly, strongly suggest and recommend this veterinary office.

Experiencia negativa: Our 2 dogs have been going here for about 2 years and at first I loved them. They diagnosed one of our dogs with a collapsing trachea and prescribed a cough tab ( after xrays) which helped with his cough but did nothing to help him breathe. I asked about a bronchial dialator and was basically ignored and when it came time to refill his cough tabs, they insisted he had to have another exam. My poor boy suffered for nearly 2 years not being able to fully catch a breath and we trusted these people to do everything possible to care for him. Our other boy has bad allergies and was getting an allergy shot EVERY month at $80 a shot. It was only lasting 2 weeks before he'd break out in hives. Again we called and asked to try a new med and again we were told he had to be seen AGAIN. We became very disappointed with the "care". It seems like they care more about the money they're making than the animal we're trusting them to care for. We went to a different vet and the boy with the breathing issues is like a whole new dog! I'll NEVER use Wilmington Animal Healthcare again.

Experiencia positiva: I’m having trouble giving three stars after my visit yesterday; but it doesn’t allow me to give stars to a specific provider so I settled with 3. Yesterday was our second visit with our puppy. The first visit was incredible and we loved Dr. Lewis! They did puppy shots cut his nails chipped him discussed what our plans were around nurturing and feeding.. all the things. I left feeling pretty confident we’d found our “home”. YESTERDAY was a complete 180. Ended up needing to restart puppy shots because we were a few days outside of a month after having to reschedule an appointment for their first available (the option to come in for a tech appointment as to not miss timeline wasn’t given) so our bill is already at $222 when I asked for his nails to be trimmed and was told “oh idk the pricing for that you’ll have to ask a tech (it was $24 so I passed) … for a service that was offered free the last visit (and should be when you’re spending $250 at an appointment). THEN came the Raw food shaming and the “do you realize the risk you’re putting your family at for salmonella, he needs kibble he’s not getting the calcium he needs” if that wasn’t enough I had to say FOUR TIMES that I wasn’t interested in neutering my animal and after the 3rd time was told “well I put a dog down this week who was 11 because he was still intact”…. I’d had enough of her condescending remarks by this point and very bluntly said “I will not now or ever be neutering my dog we are done with this conversation” I made sure to ask the girl at the desk to never schedule us with Haley Gunter again. We’re going to give it one more try since Dr. Lewis was so great, but if you’re new and looking for advise make sure you’re appointment isn’t with Gunter if you’re into a more natural pet parent lifestyle!

Experiencia fantástica: I've been taking my dog, Coco, to WAH for about 15 years now. She has seen both Dr. Katie Lewis and Dr. Sara Lewis. Coco has Addison's disease so we are in there monthly for injections (tech appts). I love that I can email them to set up my appointments and request prescription refills, and they are on it! Sue, Trinity, and Laura at the front desk have stood out for great customer service.

Experiencia fantástica: Wilmington Animal Healthcare is really the best in all categories. They are very responsive. After your pet goes there, either the Vet or the vet-tech calls to check on the condition of your pet. When your pet is not doing well, they give and explain all healthcare options.

Experiencia fantástica: Husband and I were walk-ins with an emergency. We were seen practically immediately. Our 22-DAY-old kitten had developed a VERY large infection in her elbow. We were panicked, but Dr. Horne, and her staff, were cool, calm, and collected, and calmed us down. Dr. Horne didn't feed us a line to placate us. She was honest and extremely caring. She examined the baby very carefully, and we are hopeful. This was yesterday, so we don't know if what she prescribed will work. But the baby seems to be getting better. The hospital even called today to check on our little girl, which enamored me more to them. Oh! The prices are extremely reasonable. I highly recommend Dr. Horne and Wilmington Animal Healthcare Veterinary Hospital.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been to two other veterinary hospitals in the area since moving here three years ago. Wilmington Animal Healthcare is by far the best animal hospital in the area. I cannot recommend them enough. They fit my dog into their schedule very last minute as it turned out she has a tear in her leg muscle that was quite painful. The exam was thorough, a plan of action was put into place and she is already feeling better. Dr. Haley Gunter showed great care and compassion for our dog and I am so grateful for that. The entire staff was welcoming and I’m so glad I found a place where I know they will take great care of my dog.

Experiencia negativa: Terrible experience don't walk RUN. This place does not care anything about people or their fur baby. Took my dog here and the dr, told me to euthanize her. My summery said my dog was totally blind and totally deaf which is definitely a lie she can hear well. All this place want is money they can care less about these animals. The doctor that lied about my girl's condition name is Haley Gunter. Be careful when going here. She is definitely working here for a check not because she genuinely cares about animals.

The vets and vet techs are caring and treat my dogs with great care and answer my questions and listen to my concerns. Dr. Rossini, who has seen my two dogs the most is sincerely interested in the well-being of my pets. She takes the extra steps needed and/or precautions to keep them healthy. The practice is always clean.

Experiencia fantástica: We have taken our new puppy to this hospital. They have appts. within the week and of course, take walk-ins that they work in if you need to be seem same day. They have been amazing! They took their time with our new pup and made sure he was utd on all shots/vaccines. Also, they answered all of our many questions. We have also brought our older dog here when having an emergency type of situation. They have seen him same day both times! We love this Facility!!!!

Experiencia fantástica: They have the best pet care in Wilmington. I have tried a lot of different vets when I first moved to Wilmington and none of them compare. They care about you and your pet. My Hallie has a rare blood cancer. They caught the problem after 2 long years of issues when she collapsed at play care one day. She was finally diagnosed about 7 years ago. She is now 10 and she has lived beyond any expectations. Due to their care and treatments, she is continues to bring us joy.

Experiencia fantástica: These are regular allopathic type vets, but they did a GREAT JOB with my 10 year old dacshund who had a sudden abscessed tooth. They got him in the same day I discovered it, got him in for dental surgery two days later, and one day post surgery the swelling was down and he was looking great and acting like his old self. I am really happy with the care he got. I don’t think you can do better than this hospital

Experiencia fantástica: I was looking for a second opinion on my doxie mix who has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. I was very appreciative that they saw me the very next day and were very kind and gentle AND they follow up with a very detaiiled email. A compassionate staff from check-in to check out. They gave me a follow up call to see how he was doing and reassured me that we won’t let him suffer. I highly recommend them. No hurry office visit and welcoming doctors who are brilliant!

Experiencia fantástica: Such good folks. When my cat was experiencing a rough time, they were very supportive and patient (of me and my rude cat haha). When she had a less than stellar reaction with some medication later, they were happy to give advice and even called to check up on her after a couple of days. It was very appreciated! Experiencia fantástica: Recently moved into the area and this was the closest vet to me so I went for it. I have a sorta special needs dog that has doggie tourette's that causes him to bite at the air when in nervous situations. Anyway the waiting room is nice with plenty of treats and balls to play with. All my phone interactions were professional and prompt in setting up the new appointment. The assistant that helped gather our info was great. Then the doctor came in to give the shots. She was great with my nervous dog. We got our needed shots and all was well. Would recommend this place to anyone I know if asked. My dog is getting older so hopefully my boy has many years left of visiting this place and when ready for his final farewell I'm sure they will help make it easier on us both. As I settle in I may try out the doggie daycare. Haven't used their website yet but I'm told I can order my dog pills on it.

Experiencia fantástica: Everyone from the front, vet techs and Drs are all amazing and so friendly. I feel like you come across a lot of “compassion fatigue” in veterinary practices these days and not once have I EVER experienced that here!! Our little pit thinks it’s a fun social event when we take her and they have been amazing while our dobie hound mix, who had a splenectomy here, had a month of ups and downs from Wilmington to Cary! They are gentle, kind, truthful, loving and sincere in everything they do and not once have we ever felt rushed out of there with any Dr. I highly recommend them. Our dogs have had nothing but smiles here!

Experiencia fantástica: We came here for an emergency since our usual vet didn’t have any openings. They took us in immediately. This place is so fantastic staff wise and although any emergency with a pet isn’t going to be cheap, it wasn’t breaking the bank either. They followed up each day until our appointment with the radiologist to check in on our pup. We drove all the way from Sneads ferry and if we lived closer, we would make this place our permanent vet. Great place and great people!

Experiencia negativa: I took Coco in for an annual and it turned out. She had a UTI in January… I did not receive a call for a follow up appointment so I took her back first of March and I still have not heard back of those results but I did get a bill for $177 for the test that were made this week. Still waiting for results. All of you have been so nice and thorough.at Wilmington Animal healthcare and this does not seem like you guys. Mary Price.

Experiencia fantástica: This is by far the best vet in the Wilmington area! My cat is far from the ideal patient, but this vet has been incredible with her. Other vets refused to treat her and immediately suggested putting her under anesthesia just to proceed with procedures. But everyone here has gone above and beyond for her. They never pressured me to put her under and always treat her like she’s their own. I’m so grateful for their care and know that all my animals are in good hands. Also, Maddie is amazing at what she does and so compassionate!

Experiencia fantástica: We have been taking our pets to Wilmington Animal Health approximately 20 years. Recently, put little doxie was under the weather, and we were heading out of town in two days. They were able to fit her in, and after a thorough check-up, the vet assured us she did not think it was anything serious, she gave us some suggestions and we were on our way. Our girl was feeling better in two days. We traveled out of state a few months ago to visit family. Our little doxie became very sick. We were unable to get her into the vet pur family recommended so we had to search for another vet. The vet seemed nice enough however I wasn't completely comfortable with some of her suggestions based on our doxie's symptoms. I called WAH, the tech listened to my concerns, said she would talk to the vet and call me back. In the meantime, I faxed them the out of state vet lab results. I don't remember if the vet or tech (or both) called me back. They agreed I should not give her two of the 3 medications that the out of state had recommended. We were able to get into my cousin's vet within two days for a follow-up. Our girl recovered, and I am so thankful that WAH was willing to listen and give us advice even though we were out of state. They even followed up with a phone call to check on her. They always do that when we bring her in for anything other than a routine checkup.
