Fantastic experience: They truly are the best and number one. We took my dog there as an emergency. He had been going to the doctor for a week and we didn’t know what was wrong with him. He had a fever and had recently suffered a pericardial effusion. We went through several evaluations at other facilities without getting any answers, until Leader took charge of our case. They were truly a light along the way. And not to mention all the nurses, especially Leo, Luz, and Dayana, and the girls at the front desk — they were very attentive and sweet with my dog. Tom is very grateful to everyone. He sends lots of kisses and hugs He is recovering and looking better every day. Huge thanks to the entire Leader team ❤️

Fantastic experience: I had to get a CT scan for my cat and this place was great! They treated my baby with care, kept me updated on the progress and finished the procedure exactly when they said they would! When it came to the price, I was charged $300 less than what they quoted me…less! Like I already paid the higher price and was refunded the difference and they did more than they said they would! It’s refreshing to know that there’s still honest places out there! Thank you LeadER ❤️

Fantastic experience: I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the entire team at LeadER Animal Specialty Hospital. For many years, they cared for my dog Simba with incredible dedication, professionalism, and love, and today I can only look back on that journey with immense gratitude. Negative experience: AVOID THIS CARDIOLOGIST This experience was unacceptable. After my canine was diagnosed with MR, TR, AI, Edgar advised Our dog Sniper does not have cardiac disease in his VM that my Canine does not have “heart disease” provided by Edgar, veterinary assistant to cardiologist Dr. Nick Schroeder, which caused unnecessary fear and stress. When I called to clarify, the interaction with Diane was hostile and unprofessional, including personal insults. Misinforming pet owners about a heart condition and then responding this way reflects a serious failure in communication and professionalism.

Fantastic experience: Was recommended here after taking my cat to his normal vet from him continuously vomiting. They found a foreign body and a mass in his intestines that needed emergency surgery. I appreciated the doctors and nurses keeping me constantly informed with what is going on with calls, photos, and texts while he was hospitalized there for a couple days. I never felt like I was in the dark. The nurses and team members are so sweet and you can tell they truly love animals. Huge shout out to Noelle, Renee, and all the team members who loved on my baby when I couldn’t. Unfortunately it is pricey any emergency animal hospital will be expensive but it’s the price you pay when your baby isn’t feeling well.

Fantastic experience: I have no words to adequately express my gratitude to Dr. Marin and Dr. Simona. You literally saved my dog. I was preparing for the absolute worst, but Dr. Marin, like a New Year's miracle, gave me hope on January 1st. That's how we ended up with Dr. Simona. Ladies, you are both incredibly talented, the kindest, and deeply dedicated. I am endlessly grateful to you for my Kai. One question for the doctors at Leader Vet: why did no one suggest getting a consultation with Dr. Simona earlier, while my dog was in the hospital for nearly two weeks and wasn't getting better? Only Dr. Marin recommended it and gave me hope. I also want to thank Noel and Luz. You are so kind, bright, and caring. Thank you for taking such good care of my Kai. We are now on the path to recovery, and I believe in the best outcome.

Fantastic experience: This is the second occasion that I have needed LeadER and they did not fail me at all! The day before Thanksgiving 2025 my dog was vomiting uncontrollably. I ran over mid morning to my vet thinking he may have a stomach bug or bacteria. No, it wasn't that simple. The vet, being cautious, wanted to do an xray just to be sure there wasn't any other issues but he ran right back in saying my dog had a foreign object stuck in his intestines. He needed emergency surgery. They rushed me out with a list of emergency hospitals. Their list was in order from best to not as good. I'm sure they all good but it was incredible that LeadER was at the very top of their list. I called LeadER while in the vets parking lot to see if this surgery could be done asap since it was almost Thanksgiving. I called frantically explaining what was happening with my dog and the voice on the other end calmly told me they are ready to go with a surgical team in the office for him right now. I couldn't say thank you enough times before hanging up. When I arrived I explained everything and they had someone out to get him within a minute. They took him to the back where they did their own xrays (no charge)after seeing the vets xrays and did more xrays views just to be certain there wasn't any other issues. They left Macho in a crate with medications via IV because he was very sick. They came into the room I was in and told me step by step what was going to take place and went over costs as well. Never pressuring anything I didn't want to have done. They even asked if they should resuscitate if my dog stopped breathing. Never thought I would have to make that type of decision. They were very detailed. After everything was done with him and with me they told me to go in and see him one last time before surgery and I was headed back home to wait. About an hour later the surgeon, Dr Marin, called me explaining everything that she will do to make sure my puppy was better after this whole ordeal. (I call him my puppy but he is 7 now) Then 3-4 hours after the surgeon called me and said she was able to move the foreign object up into his stomach and take it out from there since the stomach is a better organ to heal vs the intestines. She said he was resting and doing good. I was so grateful!! I received a picture from Renee - I am sure Renee is the office manager because she kept me informed the whole time! She sent me pictures of him before and after surgery. Even on Thanksgiving day she sent me pictures. So incredibly grateful to be able to talk with Renee through this whole ordeal. The doctor on call Thanksgiving day called me in the morning leaving me a message about how Macho was doing and that he would be ready to go home on Friday if he continues to progress how he had been. I just cannot say enough about them!! Dr Marin, Renee and Dr Khattak your dedication to our animals which are our family is so necessary and I am thankful that you saved his life!!! I can never say thank you enough times.

Fantastic experience: I cannot speak highly enough about our experience at LeadER Animal Specialty Hospital. When Maple urgently needed a protein transfusion after her belly filled rapidly with fluid, the entire team provided care that was both deeply compassionate and exceptionally professional. From our arrival through discharge, every step was clearly explained with patience and transparency. The plan for her care and next steps were communicated in a way that put my mind at ease during a stressful emergency. The internal coordination was seamless, and every person I spoke with was fully informed and aligned on Maple’s care. It was evident that the hospital operates like a very well-run, efficient practice. I received thoughtful photo updates from Luz, my calls were answered promptly, and I was never left waiting for information. Dr. Phillips was outstanding: timely, clear, thorough, and always willing to answer questions without ever making me feel rushed. He ensured Maple’s primary veterinarian was included in all correspondence, which I greatly appreciated. Every team member—from the client liaison and receptionist to the discharge nurse—was professional, courteous, and genuinely caring. LeadER exceeded its commitment to excellence, expertise, communication, integrity, and compassion, and I am grateful for the exceptional care Maple received. I highly recommend LeadER to anyone seeking emergency or specialty veterinary care.

Fantastic experience: The leader team was great. My dog was hit by a car and the team stabilized him and cared for him with lifesaving efforts. The team from the front office to the clinical team is fantastic. I’d recommend anyone with a pet in need to take them here. They are very communicative and have everything needed to take care of animals in emergency situations. It feels similar to a human emergency room, except for pets. I hope to not have to take my dog here again, but if I need to, I’m glad they are close by!

Fantastic experience: I had to unexpectedly fly my cat in from the bahamas due to him throwing up all night. I got referred to LeadER and after initial tests and scans it showed they needed to do surgery on a foreign body in his intestines, they got it done quick and professionally. Took care of my little man and did exactly what was needed and nothing more. All the staff were extremely kind and very professional. I pray no one is put in a situation where you need to use their services but if you happen to be, would 100% recommend to anyone and everyone. 12/10

Negative experience: 2 years today and my heart aches the same as it did on this terrible day two years ago. I’m still in shock at the horrendous experience we had at this place. Needless to say, our beloved Poppy should not have died. If they read this, yes you know who we are. They know what they did and didn’t do. At no time did a doctor come into the waiting room to speak with me other than her initial evaluation before being admitted. Which, let’s face it, was more about the bill. I repeatedly asked to speak with Poppy’s internist- never happened. I understand that the doctors are busy but I needed to know the plan going forward as I was supposed to go out of town and needed an update before I made my decision. No doctor called me until the next morning and I had already left. So had to drive 4 hours back home after that conversation. I called on the way to let them know i was coming and was told that it might not be convenient. Well, you can imagine my response to that. Then, upon arrival, some intern came over to us in the waiting room and said that she was informed that we wanted to talk about euthanasia!…….what?? Excuse me, what???!!!! At one point I was told I had taken up too much of their time with my questions and that there were critical patients they had to deal with. Front desk night manager- your attitude and tone was appalling, you shouldn’t be dealing with the public, let alone stressed out, upset pet parents- stay in the back away from emotional situations you can’t handle with empathy. They are heartless monsters who didn’t listen, or should I say act, on any of my requests, questions and pleas. Thus, she was not given the care, meds and food she needed. They said she wasn’t eating so I took in chopped boiled chicken but the food in her cage wasn’t even hers, it was a wet sloppy mess of dry food that had expanded like when left in liquid too long. I fed her her normal food and the chicken and she ate it. I should point out too that at one point I had to ask for them to fill her bowl of water as the minuscule amount in there was negligent. Absolutely no continuity between the front and back. Definite disconnect when relaying information to go in her notes. Notes didn’t match the conversations I had with the doctors. Two hours before her passing, the vet on call called me, no urgency in her voice, just to go over the plan for the next day. You didn’t realize she was dying until 4 minutes before she passed away?!!! Your call for me to come be with my girl at the end was too late. I hate you. Who sends home with an hysterical mother who’s just lost her whole world, a bag full of tubes etc that they obviously used at the end. That memory will be with me forever. Please stop sending your oh so fake condolence cards, it’s sickening. Let’s not forget that she was hospitalized a few weeks before with the same symptoms. Sent home after 2 nights with no diagnosis and no meds. But, of course, a huge bill. Every few days I will update this review so that it always stays at the top as a warning to anyone considering using this place.

Fantastic experience: When my baby was suddenly struck with severe anemia, I rushed him to LeadER Emergency Hospital in absolute fear. From the very first moment, the staff acted with urgency and compassion—taking him straight into triage and beginning treatment without hesitation. He spent 11 days in the ICU, and during that time, I never once felt alone or helpless. The doctors and nurses not only provided expert medical care, but they also cared for both of us emotionally. They checked in constantly, explained different treatment plans thoroughly, and even took the time to comfort my sweet boy when I couldn’t be there. What truly touched me was their thoughtfulness: every morning, afternoon, and night, I received texts and pictures of him—small gestures that meant the world in such a stressful time. They were available day and night to answer my questions, and they genuinely empathized with the anxiety I was carrying. Dr. Murray, Dr. Carol, and the entire staff are nothing short of extraordinary. Their dedication, kindness, and professionalism saved my baby’s life and gave me strength when I needed it most. I sincerely hope your pets never face such a crisis, but if they do, LeadER is where you will find not only the best medical care but also true compassion. Your babies will be in the safest, most loving hands.

Fantastic experience: The best service and expertise ever! The moment I walked in with my 15 yrs old doggie, Jill at the front desk welcome us with so much warmth and let us to a room. Dr. Clay Phillips stepped right in and didn’t waste time to take my dog to be tested. He came back and explained clearly and kindly all the possibilities. They took me back to see my doggie in an oxygen tank. Their customer service person, Renee Lewis was an angel in a human body! And when it was time to release my beloved “dogther” from her ailing body, although I did it home with another vet, they looked at the video I sent to make sure that indeed, it was the right decision. Their expertise and their level of warmth and kindness towards me and my dog, was something that I’ve never experienced in the 30 years of having dogs. I’m very grateful to them!

Fantastic experience: Brought my dog in by 11am with her eating something she shouldn’t have, the receptionist desk was full of helpful and friendly faces. They greeted me and my dog, immediately got us to a room. A student vet tech and certified vet tech met us in the room. Introduced themselves as well as asked all the important questions about my pet. They greeted my pet with kindness and warmth. Took care of her within 45 mins and we were checking out on our way home safe and taken care. Truly amazing facility, clean establishment, compassionate, kind, friendly. Negative experience: Oh boy... this is my first ever review on anything (product or place I've been to). I simply just dont return or dont buy a product from that brand or company again. Im way too lazy to write a review if something is bad, but dear Lord above for a place to be this incompetent that it made me sign into Google and write an actual review on NFL Sunday..... My dog vomitted redish/orange bile, take him to this vet (been here twice before and service was bad, but not to the point of being bothered to write a review) and the lady in the front mentions there are 3 customers ahead of me but it shouldn't take more than 15 minutes (I got there around 5pm on a Saturday) so I said okay no big deal. I sign in give them the dogs info, normal procedure and no issues yet. Take us to the exam room and I mention my dog isnt on any meds or anything like that and they take him in the back to run tests and see whats up, and this is where the issues begin. 30 minutes go by and I figure everything is fine.... an hour goes by, no one comes in for any sort of communication but I certainly hear laughter and joking in the back. Okay, little more time goes by until someone comes in and tells me they did a physical and are finishing up an ultrasound right now. Okay, good, shouldn't be much longer..... another your goes by and im here for 2 hours at this point. No communication for another 20 mins or so until the vet comes in and explains that the wait was because of night shift doctors coming in etc (it doesn't take this long to do all that I have friends who are nurses and vets/vet techs and the long wait on a relatively slow day is not normal according to them). Anyway, vet explains that they can't find anything and that they can set up an abdominal test and some radiology stuff or something along those lines. I declined and said id rather just take him home and monitor him to see if he throws up anymore (its been about 18-19 hours since he last vomited and seems fine). Vet leaves and i have to wait another 15-20 mins for someone to come in and explain with treatment plans and before he mutters a word i said i just want to take the dog home, don't understand the extra wait when I told the vet earlier i wanted to just take my dog home and this is a waste of time. Tech leaves and comes back 10 minutes later with a new paper to sign which states the process ($1500) was declined (which I did declined because its ridiculous at this point with all the waiting, no communication, lack of urgency, etc). Finally after over 3 hours and spending $155 for them to supposedly run a physical and ultrasound on him and leaving me clueless about whats going on i left. DO NOT go to this vet, theyre accredited AAHA (which from what i understsnd is a top teir acknowledgement in the veterinary field) but it sure as hell didnt feel that eay. They're completely useless and youre better off waiting until your vet you usually go to is open. Heaven forbid your pet is dying and you take the poor thing here. Chances are that pet will pass away before they even give you a chance to say goodbye. Unless you feel you have absolutely no other option (even then id avoid this vet at all costs, you're better off using Google, youtube, or an online vet). I literally gave them $155 to dogsit for 3 hours it seems and luckily my case wasnt as bad as others (I truly feel for people who go there with a much worse emergency and get treated like this) Again, this was my first review and I simply dont go back, but for me to write a lengthy review about how incompetent a place was? Not a good look at all.

Negative experience: I left a one star review due to the horrible and negligent care that was provided to my pet. In response to the hospitals reply: I want to clarify part of your message for accuracy. I reached out multiple times for over a month and sent multiple follow ups due to lack of response from your team. I reached out to the hospital's manager, Renee, to have the owner, Jason Horgan, look into Trixie's passing and to provide me with answers. I requested records, imaging, and follow-up questions multiple times. She was in the ICU and no one knew the time it happened and her last documented check up was roughly 12 hrs prior to the phone call. Dr. Murray was the one to call me that Sunday morning when Trixie passed and her explanation was "I don't know what happened". I also never heard from the doctor who was the specialist in her care, Dr. Ganthous, on her case the day i took her in. We met once, he suggested surgery, performed it the same day and never reached out again. You had the ER doctor, Dr. Murray, the weekend Trixie was in the ICU and when I would call for updates, she would say she had to call/text Dr. Ganthous for answers or help on what to do, which I believe may have caused delays to her care. I appreciate your condolences but I want to be honest about my experience so other pet owners understand the challenges I faced in trying to get clear information about Trixie's care. I want to make sure that the owners are on top of the doctors and that the dogs are getting the care they deserve. The hospital seemed to care more about the money rather than the pets health. You guys called me more times to pre-bill and pre-pay for treatments in full during her stay, than actually providing me with any type of updates on how she was doing, which I had to follow up constantly for as well.

Fantastic experience: We had a really good experience here. Our senior dog was listless. She had several seizures. All the staff from reception, vets, and nurses were very compassionate. They explained the medical side and undertood the emotional part as well. Never felt rushed. It was expensive but we feel she got the best care in our emergency and she was discharged much better.

Negative experience: we took my cat here and she passed a few days after due to their negligence. She got diagnosed with diabetes and they gave her all of the wrong medication to make it worse and have us come back to spend another 7k to keep her overnight. DO NOT GO TO THIS VET!!

Negative experience: The good: Dropped my rare breed dog off in the morning because he swallowed a sock. We were checked in by a young lady named Alex who was great. Dr. Walton was amazing and I felt comfortable leaving my best friend with them for the day. The bad: Got a message in the afternoon that the doctor was ready to speak to me about my dog. I drive ten minutes to the facility and walk in and up to the counter. 3 people sitting behind the counter ignore me. I looked at each of them for a few seconds until I just started talking and said who I was and what I was there for. They looked around and acted as if they had no idea what I was talking about. They didn't know of my dog and had never heard his name before. Then the lady on the left picked up a phone to inform someone that I was ready to see my dog. She then put the phone down and, without taking her eyes off her computer screen, said "you can have a seat". So I sit down right in front her in my big yellow hoodie and wait for 15 minutes. As I'm spacing out on my phone, I heard someone mumble my dog's name. I looked up and it's the same lady that told me to have a seat and now she is standing out from behind the counter looking in the direction of the only other two people in the lobby which were two women waiting with their dogs at their feet. She repeated my dog's name, still looking at the two women. I said "right here" and stood up and walked toward her. She continued looking at the two women and said "you can follow me". I followed her around the counter and she paused to fuss with some papers on the counter for longer than it should have been. She then stopped with the papers, looked back in the direction of the two women and said "right this way". I then asked her "are you looking at me?". Then, in the sassiest tone I have heard all week, she replied, "no, because you didn't answer me the first time I said your dog's name". I didn't respond but I did laugh at her because I was too stressed about my dog's health to deal with a toxic attitude. First of all, with only 3 customers in the lobby, she knew exactly who was there for the dog's name that she mumbled unless she can't retain information for more then 15 minutes. Secondly, I do not share a name with my dog so if you lack the professionalism to address a customer by their first name then I am Mr. Deck to you. Lastly, if you also lack the professionalism to be respectful to customers then you shouldn't have a forward facing position where you have to deal with customers.

Fantastic experience: This is by far the best animal hospital we've ever been. My dog was there many times, they saved his life many times, they treated him with the best and most professional care, and when the moment came for him to say goodbye, they helped us in the process, were kind and compassionate. Doctors, tech assistants and all staff is beyond professional. Highly highly recommend this clinic.

Fantastic experience: I don’t have enough words to express my gratitude toward LeadER Animal Specialty Hospital. Renee went above and beyond, her care was truly incredible. She was always so caring, attentive, and dedicated, treating my baby as if she were part of her own family. Dr. Marin was amazing as well. She performed a very difficult liver lobectomy on my 13-year-old, and everything went wonderfully. She took the time to explain every detail clearly and made sure I understood each step of the process. The nursing team was fantastic, and the front desk staff were equally kind and professional. The hospital itself is very well-equipped and gives you complete confidence that your pet is in the best hands possible. I totally recommend this place, they treated my baby with the same love and care as if she were their own.

Fantastic experience: Best vet/ hospital I have taken my dog here for heart surgery and cats and dogs i rescue/ foster for anything serious. They are amazing and always give you options for if you wanted to go the extra mile on more tests and they give you there best recommendations on what to do in your case. I have definitely spent a lot on surgery’s but have also saved a lot on cases where extra tests aren’t needed and advise me this instead of just doing procedures and taking my money like other vets. I highly recommend this place and amazing staff. Thank you for always saving all the pets I have brought in

Negative experience: Really disappointed that they never called to explain results like they said they would- after 2 different follow up calls requesting a callback from Dr. Marin we are still waiting and it’s about to be 2 weeks since the visit… they came highly recommended but this is completely unprofessional. To top it off, second time I called they rushed to put me on hold and I waited 35 minutes until finally hanging up and calling again, which I was attended with no hold and they had just forgotten about me…

Negative experience: Real bad place to deal with all they care about is your funds in your wallet they’ll charge your thousand dollars without even touching an animal When you decide to walk away from it, there will knock the price down in half so we decided to go through it unfortunately and days later they asked for another $5000 and my dog was so sick even sicker than how I took him. Stay the hell away from this place.

Negative experience: Horrible place! Came in because our dog wasn’t feeling very well and had threw up, and before we would even finish filling the paperwork they came and took our dog and had us calling another place to ask information about what she had taken and what was going on internally, all of that over the phone, then they take us to a room and tell us that the dog needs to stay for 24hrs to keep an eye on her, so we agreed to that and they’ll give us an estimate of that, then a front desk lady came out and gave us an estimate for $4200 and saying that she’ll stay 4 days instead of the initial 24hrs, no reason why, she just said they needed to look at her for 4 days now, we argued that wasn’t what we were told by the doctor and asked for a 24hrs estimate instead, then they came with that at $3800, when we said it was our budget we asked to get our dog back. Then then the same front desk lady came back asking what we were willing to pay, last time i checked you don’t bargain on medical bills, and all this time we paid for the $200 visit + $100 for the call we made to see what she had and we got no information from this actual place whatsoever

Fantastic experience: We recently had to take our Rottweiler Pebbles to LeadEr for an emergency surgery due to a torn bladder. Just several days before her surgery she had her right front leg amputated due to oesteracoma at another animal hospital . The awesome team at LeadEr constantly treated her with love and compassion. We arrived at 7am on a federal holiday and the doctor was able to see her and diagnosed the problem right away. Pebbles spent three nights in the hospital where she was constantly watched and taken care of. I want to sincerely thank Dr Horgan, Dr Khattak, Renee, Luz and everyone else at LeadEr that cared for Pebbles during her stay. You all are an awesome team of veterinary professionals and I’ll never go anywhere else when my Rottweilers need medical care. She is recovering well and living her best life. Fantastic experience: My dog, Bentley, got very sick back in July after getting attacked by a stray cat in my neighborhood. Fantastic experience: Words cannot express how thankful we are to have been referred to Dr. Jason Horgan by Southeast Veterinary Neuorology. Casper is 8 years old and tore his ACL ligament sprinting after a cat. In terms of seriousness, think of when this happens to athletes: surgery is required and rehab time can be 2-3months. We live in Miami but we wanted the best care possible or him. Dr. Horgan and his staff put us at ease, were kind and compassionate and didn't treat us like a number, and the support staff is just as exceptional as the good Doctor. Everything they told us about the pre-and post- surgery was on point, and they weren't shy about reeling me in off the ledge when I was consumed with fear that CaspyDoodleDandy might not walk again, or at the very least, be hobbled for the rest of his days. The hardest part about the surgery for us was the lifting of a 40lb shiba inu to take him out and bring him back in, and seeing him try so stoically to walk. As of today he is almost completely recovered. As the doctor suggested we are going to continue to leash walking and home physical therapy: lifting his leg up and down, intoning 'Up. Dowwwwwwn. Up. Dowwwwwwwn' and regular massage of the muscles in the affected joint. If you want the best care for your pet money can buy, don't look anywhere else. LeadER Animal Specialty Hospital is without peer. Thank you LeadER!

Fantastic experience: This animal ER is absolutely amazing. I've been here for emergencies at least 4-5 times in the past 7 years with 2 of my pets and have had nothing but amazing experiences each time. The staff is always kind, attentive, and loving towards your pets and never hesitate to answer any and all questions you may have. They never pressure you into paying for services and always lay out detailed prices beforehand and giving you time to decide. Yes, the waits may be long sometimes but that's because it's an emergency room just like a human one and the more critical cases always take priority. The amazing vet here coordinated care with my cat's neurologist to make sure she's getting the best care. They kept my cat overnight and sent me updates and pictures without me even asking. I will always use Lead ER in the future for those scary moments especially because of their amazing compassion and care. Thank you for loving and taking care of my pets as if they were your own!

Negative experience: I can’t begin to explain the worst experience I have ever had they are EXTREMELY overpriced. TERRIBLE service and took my dog off oxygen when they knew she was DYING and was only alive based on oxygen and unplugged it before I could even get there, didn't even get to hold my own dog one last time. I had to walk in the hospital seeing her lay lifeless. I’m truly devastated they charged us for treatments they promised but never did and overnight stay when they did absolutely nothing. Those 2 days she had left I could’ve spent them with her. Only reason she was there because they promised treatments and exams but they’re liars and didn’t do any of it now my dog died. Now all I have of her left is a picture frame. DO NOT bring your animals here.

Negative experience: AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience at Leader in Cooper City was absolutely unacceptable. I took my 11-year-old golden retriever in for a specialist consultation regarding a suspected mass, possibly needing a CT scan and biopsy. I sent all medical history ahead of time and made it very clear what we needed. Here’s what happened instead: ❌ 1 hour and 30-minute wait despite having a scheduled appointment. No updates, no communication. We were left sitting there with no idea what was happening. ❌ Our dog was taken to be weighed and then disappeared into the back for over 30 minutes—for what? Nothing. She was supposed to get only a weight check, yet they kept her behind closed doors doing absolutely nothing. We had to go looking for her, and when the doctor finally came in, he didn’t even bring her back! ❌ This was NOT an emergency visit. We weren’t expecting immediate, life-saving intervention—we just needed a specialist to review what had already been done and come up with a clear plan: CT scan and/or biopsy. ❌ The labs and ultrasound we already did showed enough to move forward. Our primary care vet recommended we see a specialist because the case was beyond his expertise. That’s why we came here—to see someone who actually knew what they were doing. ❌ Instead, Dr. Dobs walked in, rude and dismissive, and told us "go find an internal medicine specialist." He didn’t even examine our dog—just read the paperwork we had already provided. ❌ We paid $180 for NOTHING. We were supposed to see a specialist—but got no actual specialist consultation, no exam, and no course of action. ❌ When we asked for guidance on finding the right specialist, we got more runaround. We KNOW they have an internal list of specialists—why not just help us? SCAM. SCAM. SCAM. This place is a complete money grab—unprofessional, unethical, and a total waste of time. The doctor lacked all respect, clearly didn’t care, and was only interested in taking our money and pushing us out the door. We weren’t asking for a miracle—just professionalism, respect, and the proper course of action. Instead, we were scammed. If you love your pet, DO NOT take them here. This place is a disgrace. Pictures are to provide you with what we left with. Remember, this is not about price at this point, it is about the lack of respect and downright rudeness SCAM and that we were ripped off. $180 is nothing for our special girl. The fact that $180 and that we received no service, not even a specialist opinion, was BS and how we were treated. Oh I want to post a responce to this previous commit from a reviewer. Couldn't be right on the money with what he or she said "But it was a $7,000 surgery, followed by a second $10,000 surgery, as the Veterinarians Surgeon told me, "I sell surgeries". Everyday after the first surgery, my beautiful dog would look at me with sad eyes, and I knew he was saying," THAT"S EXACTLY WHAT I EXPERIENCED "I SELL SURGERIES." In conclusion, we walked out and will never return again to this place and will make it known on Instagram and every social media outlet possible that this place is to be avoided. We just want the best for our baby who ended up passing a few days later. Not directly related but for putting her through the stress in her final days. ✋✋✋✋✋✋ UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2025 These crooks went after my wife who was also listed as a separate contact and filled a collection dispute we just found out this as a surprise on her credit report. keep this in mind my AMEX ruled in my favor due to the dishonest nature of this company why now attack my wife who had nothing to do with paying and was only listed as an emergency. this is so low and i believe illegal please everyone stop this nonsense this out right abuse now

Fantastic experience: Well, if there were more stars, I’d definitely give them to LeadER. They truly offer the best of the best in every aspect. From exceptional customer service to the dedicated nurses & staff, even the cleaning crew is great! The hospital is equipped with the latest tec for every need including diálisis! Now, let’s talk about the doctos. I can’t fully describe how incredible and quality Doctors they have in their staff. I’ve had the privilege of having 3 of these doctors treat 4 of my babies. Miley and Henry had Dr. Nick as their cardiologist for years until they passed away due to CHF. Nowadays, Hankie is also under Dr. Nick’s care for CHF also. Chloe was treated by Dr. Horgann, an orthopedic surgeon who skillfully repaired a second break on her right fibula. Recently, just 4 nights ago, Hankie was admitted to LeadER emergency room due to a hernia & bladder emergency . He was treated by Dr. Brian, an internist surgeon DVM, who successfully repaired a perforated hernia and attached his bladder. He's now with me @ home, getting loads of love & kissesto help him recover from such painful ordeal. Every treatment or surgical intervention has been a resounding success, and the post-operative services are amazing as well. The nursing staff & techs are incredibly caring & compassionate. I’ve witnessed firsthand how every dog is treated with kindness, receiving the proper care each needs. They handle each dog as if it were their own pet, striving to provide the best care possible with a touch of love to make them feel better & allow them to return home to their families fast. Unfortunately, my Miley and Henry’s CHF disease took them from me too soon, despite the best treatments they received. I am incredibly grateful that LeadER has experienced & knowledgeable physicians who specialize in various areas of veterinary medicine. I know that when I take my babies to LeadER, they will be in good hands, receiving the best care money can buy. Thank Y❤️U, Team LeadER, for everything you do for MY PETS.

Fantastic experience: We are so grateful to the entire team at LeadER for the exceptional care they gave to our golden retriever, Summer Rose. From the moment Dr. Jordan welcomed us into the ER, we felt reassured by her compassion and professionalism. Later, Dr. Brian Daubs and the surgical team provided clear explanations, constant updates, and incredible care throughout Summer’s procedure (toe amputation and bone biopsies). They made sure she was comfortable with excellent pain management and recovery support, while also showing patience and kindness to us as worried parents. We truly felt that Summer was in the best hands possible from start to finish. Thank you, LeadER, for guiding us through this difficult time with such skill and heart. We highly recommend your hospital and your amazing doctors to any pet parent in need of specialty or emergency care. — Felipe, Stephanie & Summer Rose

Negative experience: “This is by far the worst animal hospital I have ever dealt with. The staff showed little compassion or professionalism, the wait times were unreasonable, and my pet did not receive the proper attention or care. A hospital should prioritize the health and well-being of animals, but here it felt like the opposite. I would never recommend this place to anyone who truly cares for their pets.”

Fantastic experience: Cody spent a full week hospitalized here while fighting parvovirus, and the care he received was nothing short of life-saving. The entire team was excellent, professional, attentive, and incredibly kind. They treated Cody with so much love, and we felt reassured every step of the way. A very special thank you to Dr. Murray, Dr. Stavros, Lily, and Winnie, who went above and beyond to take care of him and support us during such a difficult time. Negative experience: I really don't leave this review to be a jerk towards this ER as I can understand that in business once you start dealing with volume, it's easy for clients to become just a number.. but when it comes to a business where you actually are dealing with life and death.. unfortunately you can't take that chance. Yesterday my dog was experiencing bloat symptoms and since it was nighttime and my normal vets office was closed I took him to this ER as it was the closest to my house. I walked in and told them the severity of his symptoms. Swollen belly, fast heart rate, trying to vomit, no appetite. 45 minutes later and still my dog had not even been looked at. A cat and dog came in completely stable and even they were seen before us. When they walked us back to the room, after another 15 minutes still no one came in. There's literally a poster in there explaining triage, bloat supposedly top priority and it absolutely was not. I looked up close ER's and went to Advanced Veterinary Care Center 10 minutes away where we were welcomed and brought back instantly. Thankfully they were able to diagnose and treat him right away, ultimately saving his life. Again. I don't share this to be rude towards leadER in any way as I know many great vets that USED to work there and they always said good things.. but in a dire situation, I would never go back there. So in case someone needs to decide in an emergency situation where to go... I would highly recommend not going there.

Negative experience: I brought my pet here on one of the worst days of their life—and mine. I was scared, confused, and just desperate to know how my baby was doing. Instead of compassion, I felt completely taken advantage of. Like many of the other reviews mention, they use fear to pressure you into unnecessary hospitalization and treatments your pet may not even need. When you finally get your pet back, you’re hit with an outrageous bill full of inflated or questionable charges. Unless you comb through every line item, they slip things in and then call it a “mistake” if you catch it. On top of that, the staff showed no empathy. Everyone I encountered seemed cold, dismissive, and unwilling to truly help. It felt like money was their only concern—not the wellbeing of the animals or the families who love them. This was by far the worst veterinary experience of my life. If you love your pet, please consider other options—there are so many better, more compassionate emergency clinics out there.

Negative experience: The support staff here is great, but my experience with Dr. Daubs was extremely disappointing. I canceled my dog’s surgery the same day after our consultation with him. He came across as rude, impatient, and showed no compassion toward my pet or me. If you come here for surgery, I strongly recommend requesting a different surgeon.

LeadER Animal Specialty Hospital Cooper City
LeadER Animal Specialty Hospital Cooper City

Mike, thank you for your kind words regarding our support staff. We are sorry to hear about your interaction with Dr. Daubs. Our goal is always to provide our clients with the gold standard of care, delivered with compassion. Dr. Daubs’ intention was simply to share with you the findings from his medical examination. As a doctor, it is his responsibility to provide this information, even when it may not be what you wish to hear. We believe it would not be doing you—or little Dubi—justice if we did otherwise.
We did offer the option for you to see one of our other surgeons, and we understand you chose to go elsewhere so the procedure could be performed the same day. We truly hope Dubi received the care he needed and that he is doing well.

Fantastic experience: I brought my cat snow for heavy breathing problems and before I even finished the words they had someone come out right away to take him from me and started treating him immediately, he had to be hospitalized for 2 days and while I didn’t receive the best news about his diagnosis. I’m just so happy that I had taken him as he had fluids on his lungs and in the heart due to a heart condition, and needed to get the fluids out and receive oxygen treatment. I loved that they would send me texts of him and also call me every morning to let me know how he’s doing. The staff at the time was super nice especially Luz. Yes it was costly but it was worth every penny to have my baby feeling better and back home in my arms. We been back home for not even 24 hours and I can see his breathing has improved tremendously!! I’m super thankful and I appreciate all the help you have given snow. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Our Ellie’s back legs were dragging and not working quite right the night before our 2 week dream vacation. She’s a Frenchie and they are prone to spinal issues so she needed immediate bed rest and isolation for the whole two weeks we were going to be gone. Lead ER was there for us and took her in for round the clock care. We have received updates every day, phone calls and videos. They even let my friend go visit her! The staff have been phenomenal and have taken such great care of her. She is doing great and they were there for us so we didn’t have to cancel our vacation. Thank you Lead ER for your attention to detail and making us feel so comfortable leaving our precious girl in your care so we could enjoy our time away!

Fantastic experience: Our dog recently ruptured her ACL and tore her meniscus on one of her back legs. We made an appointment with Dr. Horgan and after examining our baby girl’s injury he explained in full details what the injury consisted of and how surgery could help her to have a better quality of life. Dr. Horgan’s knowledge and bedside manners are second to none. Everyone from the receptionists to the technicians and nurses are very caring, understanding and professional. In addition, we had a great client liaison in Renee. She is above and beyond extraordinary person that really cares for the clients. She kept us informed of the status of our dog prior to surgery and after surgery. She has also been in constant contact with us after our baby girl came home. She is always available and responded to all our questions and concerns immediately. Renee has been a true blessing to us. We highly recommend LeadEr Animal Speciality Hospital. They are great!!!

Negative experience: To anyone reading this on Google: please do not take your pet to this clinic. Compassion should come before profit, especially in a place that claims to care for animals We took our dog to this clinic last night because he had a bad cough. They said he needed lab tests and hospitalization — the total was $7,700. Since we couldn’t afford it, we left with anxiety pills and a prescription to fill elsewhere. We called nearly 30 pharmacies and none had the medication. When we called the clinic back asking for an alternative, they refused to help because we hadn’t paid for the full procedure. This is unacceptable. Watching your dog suffer is heartbreaking — and being denied help because of money makes it worse.

Fantastic experience: Words can’t truly express the gratitude I feel for the team at LeadER Animal Hospital. They quite literally saved both of my German Shepherds’ lives. The first was a terrifying, spontaneous pneumothorax. My baby came in with collapsed lungs and I was preparing for the worst. But the staff moved swiftly, skillfully, and with so much compassion. They operated, stabilized him, cared for him like he was their own, and never stopped fighting for his recovery. Just three weeks later, my other Shepherd came in with a colon torsion, another emergency that could’ve ended in heartbreak. But once again, LeadER stepped in and gave us a miracle. These dogs aren’t just pets, they’re my family. They were my rock during my husband's year-long military deployment, and I felt like I owed it to them to fight just as hard as they’ve always been there for me. Thanks to LeadER, I didn’t have to say goodbye to either of them. The entire team was attentive, communicative, and deeply compassionate through it all. They walked me through every step, gave updates regularly, and treated me and my dogs with empathy and professionalism. It gives me tremendous peace of mind knowing that LeadER has highly skilled specialty surgeons available in case they are ever needed in the future. Both of my pups are thriving today, and I owe it all to LeadER Animal Hospital. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You gave us more time, more memories, and more tail wags than I ever thought possible.

Negative experience: I went to LeadER for my 12 week puppy as an emergency because my poor baby was vomiting and lethargic. They took her in for a super long time and we had no idea what they were doing. After that they came out with an almost $10,000 bill for hospitalization and god knows how many more things they claimed they needed to give her. They then came back with another bill for almost $800. Mind you my puppy is super young and tiny, and they wanted to pump her full of super heavy medicines and all kinds of stuff. They took advantage of our fear for our baby and lack of medical knowledge and quite literally took advantage of us and gave us a nonsensical diagnosis and we trusted them. I will not be returning here ever again and will never recommend this place to anyone. I’m highly disappointed that they took advantage of our situation to get money for themselves.

Fantastic experience: I brought in my dog Betsy in May for a snake bite. I can say if not for the doctors, nurses and staff at LeadER, our Betsy would not have made it. Two of the doctors there, one of them is Dr. Philips, I believe, have years of experience with snake bites. They were aggressive with anti-venom treatment. Betsy underwent a traumatic experience as viper venom is fast acting and highly poisonous. I cannot stress enough how the doctors' advice to give Betsy as much anti-venom as possible to counteract the poison, saved her life. She's also a very reactive dog, which made it hard for the staff to get near her, but they exercised a lot of patience and care. We visited twice daily while she was there over 4 nights to help her eat. Two months later, our 24lb terrier mix is as healthy as can be. The ICU care was costly but fortunately Lemonade Pet Insurance covered 80% of the price tag. We're so grateful to LeadER for saving our dog.

Fantastic experience: My 9 year old Pug had major surgery exactly 90 days ago at LeadER with Dr. Horgan and his phenomenal team. This was the most terrifying decision and experience that I’ve had to this day due to chronic, treatment resistant middle ear infection. After two MRI’s, two spinal taps, a CT scan and various consultations with neurologists, dermatologists and veterinarians, it was highly recommended to remove his entire ear canal on the right side to prevent further infection and dire complications in the future. I interviewed a couple of small tissue surgeons in the area and Dr. Horgan was undoubtedly the correct fit for us. I knew the moment he interacted with my Pug from his unmatched bedside manner and wealth of knowledge/expertise, that he was THE doctor I wanted to operate on my baby. Leading up to the surgery, he offered various consults to explain and assess all possibilities and outcomes to make sure I understood the pros and cons of every scenario. I never, ever felt rushed off the phone or exam room during in person visits. I was also assigned my very own inpatient concierge, Renee, that kept me informed every step of the way with updates and pictures of my boy. She was absolutely wonderful and made me feel very emotionally supported. Dr. Horgan continued to hold space for us post surgery as my boy’s incision healed with continued communication and quick access on “speed dial” as we navigated his health concerns with medications. I wish we could stay under Dr. Horgan’s eternal care, but since he’s a surgeon, it’s not possible unless another one is needed in the future. If I could give 10 stars to this team, I absolutely would!! I’ve never experienced this level of professionalism and stellar bedside manner like I did during this experience. It is obvious and transparent that they truly adore animals and love what they do. Thank you for taking care of my boy and giving us peace of mind that no amount of money can buy!

Fantastic experience: On Friday July 4th my wife and I brought in our 14 year old greyhound who had stopped eating and whose legs had given out on her. We knew our Fara had come to the end of her life. Everyone at your facility treated us with kindness and compassion, starting with the young man who brought a gurney to our car to get Fara out, then to your entire front office staff and finally to Dr Murray who was beyond kind to us. She was very kind, gentle and compassionate. We will forever be grateful to each and everyone who we interacted with on that horrible morning. Fara passed on with dignity , knowing that she wasn’t alone. Thank you, each and everyone of you.

Negative experience: I do not recommend it! Horrible experience, first the girl who attends the counter is super rude, she has no manners and knows nothing about customer service. She thinks she is a doctor! Secondly, they took my dog to the back without giving me any explanation and then they arrive with an absurd bill!! Do not pay the 150 ( for a "diagnosis" bah) it is not worth it because they really do not do anything to it, I waited and the next day I went to Banfield, I paid less than half, they weighed him, examined him in front of me and then the doctor called me to explain, my dog is super well.

Negative experience: My experience with Leader Veterinary was deeply upsetting and infuriating. I brought my pet in with genuine concern, expecting professional guidance and at least a preliminary diagnosis. Instead, I was met with a blatant money grab. They refused to provide any diagnosis or even discuss possible causes unless I agreed to pay over $10,000 upfront. That’s not just excessive — it’s predatory. Their approach is abusive and manipulative. They take advantage of pet owners who are vulnerable and emotionally distressed, knowing most people will do anything to save their animals. Withholding critical health information unless you pay a fortune is not medical care — it’s coercion. There was zero transparency, no empathy, and no ethical responsibility shown by their staff. They didn’t offer alternatives, didn’t explain costs clearly, and treated the situation like a business transaction rather than a matter of life and death. Veterinary care should never feel like extortion. I strongly advise others to stay away from this clinic. If you value honesty, compassion, and responsible care for your pet

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough of LeadER Hospital. The Doctors, Administration, the support team, it takes a Village & their Village is a 5 star facility. I had the most positive, caring, loving experience during a devastating time. Dr. Daubs, Dr. Khattack, Dr. Phillips, & Renee, were amazing, pleasant, caring, kind, trustworthy, courteous & knowledgeable. They patiently & thoroughly answered all of my many questions, explained everything step by step on a daily basis & were 100% involved. The attending physician would call me every morning providing status on Timmy's progress, what had transpired throughout the night. Rene was my life line, she was in constant contact outside of the Doctor's daily communications on updates, would comfort me, send me pictures, basically the much needed shoulder to lean on, provided the comfort & hope that I needed at such a crucial time. Any time, on any day she was available at my beck & call, keeping me posted on anything and everything. Renee is the sweetest and kindest person, she would show concern for my emotional state and kept me on a positive vibe, my angel in disguise. Every night I was called with updates & details on Timmy's day, demeanor, food consumption, bathroom frequency, meds administered. I would blindly take all of my 6 kitties to LeadER Hospital, they are professionals in every sense of the word, whom are invested & devoted in saving each life that is placed in their hands. They are caring, loving, attentive & empathetic. Each are experts in their individual fields. I live in Miami & due to Timmy suffering from constipation I admitted him at Miami Veterinary Specialist {MVS} 4 days, and $4,500 later he was released, 2 days later his stomach, looked like a balloon swollen & very hard to the touch. I rushed him to the Vet. He was in a very serious condition. I had to rush him to an ER facility, I was NOT going back to (MVS) my Vet recommended LeaDER, even though it was an hour away I rushed him over. Upon arrival we were immediately met by a Vet tech who demonstrated concern and care. from that moment forward I was taken by the hand & led through the difficult time, with care, patience, kindness & empathy, I felt no regrets or doubts from the time I left my kitty in their hands. Only an organized committed group of professionals have the ability to make a pet parent feel at ease when you are facing the unknown. I experienced first class care, concern, kindness & professionalism. Following tests, a scan, conversations with Dr. Daubs , we concluded that surgery was the only route to take, I am so grateful for his expertise I owe Dr. Daubs for his valuable recommendations which led us to find that Timmy had a hole in his stomach which caused bacteria to enter, he was suffering from sepsis infection. Due to the team's knowledge, quick action, his life was SAVED. He had a 50/50 chance to survive it was a devastating time but with the trust I had placed in this wonderful team I was 100% sure he would come home to live a long beautiful healthy life. They all proved me right. This group was miraculous in saving Timmy's life. Today 6 months later he is doing fantastic, he is healthy, happy, loves to eat, loves to harass his sibling, he is back to my Timmy from before his illness I have only to thank LeadER's team. If I have to travel hours or days to get to LeadER I would not hesitate, I trust them with my kitties lives. I love, love, love each & everyone that I encountered through this crisis, each of them touched our lives in such a positive, warm & loving way. Every penny invested in their well being, is worth it, especially when it goes to the service of a group that wholeheartedly, genuinely, have earned it by providing trust, loyalty, commitment, accountability, hard work & most of all knowledge. I never hesitated due to cost, the end results are priceless. I look at Timmy & my heart explodes with smiles .THANK YOU to the moon and back for the gift of life. Dr. Daubs, Dr. Khattak, Renee, Dr. Phillips & the rest of the team who were part of Timmy's care, & LeadER for existing!!!

Negative experience: LEADER Animal Hospital in Cooper City failed my dog—and they failed our family. Over the last few years, our 8-year-old pit bull was treated there for cancerous tumors. He underwent two surgeries with them, the most recent about 8 months ago. That surgery was terrifying. We originally brought him in for a review, and they recommended removing his spleen due to some nodules. What they failed to mention was how invasive and dangerous this surgery truly is. During the same procedure, they also took a liver biopsy and yet, no one ever sat down with us to explain the findings or what they meant. We were simply told, “There’s no cancer in the liver,” and that was it. We trusted them. Big mistake. After surgery, our dog nearly died. He had serious complications during recovery and had to be hospitalized for four days. It took us screaming and crying in the clinic for them to finally respond with urgency and go into crisis mode. They eventually stabilized him, but we were left shaken and uneasy. Fast forward to just two weeks ago, our boy started slowing down. He stopped eating—the biggest red flag for him, because he was incredibly food-motivated. We brought him back in. The oncologist checked a few new small masses and said everything was fine. Less than two days later, he was in full liver failure. His abdomen was filled with fluid, he was in pain from the pressure on his organs—and within 36 hours, he was gone. It was only after they realized he was dying that we got the full story: That liver biopsy from eight months ago showed he had copper-induced cirrhosis. A manageable, chronic condition—if treated early. But no one told us. Not one person thought it was worth discussing that his liver was undersized, or that this condition could have been slowed or managed with supplements and a specialized diet. He could have lived longer. He could have lived better. But instead, he suffered—and died—because they didn't bother. Why? Because treatment plans and dietary adjustments don’t generate the same revenue as multiple \$8,000 surgeries. And that reality makes me sick. This clinic’s negligence cost our dog his life. And it cost us the most loyal, gentle, sweet soul we’ve ever known. I am writing this not just out of anger—though there’s plenty of that—but out of heartbreak, and with the hope that I can prevent this from happening to someone else. They didn’t care the way they should have, and our pup paid the price. Please, don’t trust them with your loved one. Just google nearby alternatives and read the reviews. There are newer, better options out there.

Fantastic experience: We brought our French bulldog in for a diaphragmatic hernia. It was an emergency, and leadER was one of the few places open. We read the reviews and we were a bit worried. Our experience was amazing. The staff were super attentive, knowledgeable, and understanding. They were also all clearly animal lovers. Ruby (our frenchie princess) stayed there for 3 nights. We got called and texts from the doctor and staff daily to let us know that she was ok. I really can’t say enough good stuff about leadER. I would definitely go there again if Ruby needed a doctor

Fantastic experience: My boyfriend and I absolutely adore LeadER. My dog was rushed here for surgery and having his tail cut off from a freak accident with it getting caught in a door. Throughout his first surgery and revision surgery they were awesome! Very kind, understanding staff, which is import and during stressful times with reactive dogs who get snappy. They were very communicative, answered all my questions and phone calls to check on him. He loves them and I will continue to go to them as an emergency vet. I can’t recommend enough!!!

Negative experience: I have much to say. First of all Dr. Ghantous is a fabulous doctor who saved my dogs life back in September. The staff at the time was amazing. However due to his busy schedule he was unable to see my dog this week and I was advised to take my dog to the ER side of things. There I encountered Dr. Margaret Johnson she came at us with a non caring demeanor. Her bedside manners leave much to be desired. She was very blunt and when asked what the prognosis was pretty much said it is time to make a decision or pay over $6000 in order to keep your dog there. She has zero empathy and seemed annoyed with my questions. Her non caring manner made me feel very uncomfortable to the point that I thought euthanasia was the only option. At no time did she bother to ask if I wanted to at least run labs. The next day I took my dog to his prior vet who ran labs. All he had was an infection which he was given antibiotics for and now he’s back to his normal self. Basically almost euthanized my dog for her lack of clinical skills and empathy. I will never take my dog there again as long as that vet works there. I hope you hire vets that actually care about their job for your ER.

Negative experience: Putting a beloved pet down is one of the hardest and most heartbreaking decisions any pet owner can make. Our 9-year-old French Bulldog, Vader, has been suffering from severe pancreatitis since January 2025 — not for days or weeks, but for over six months. Despite having a strong appetite because his body is not absorbing the nutrients of the food, and regardless of consuming large amounts of food, he has become severely emaciated. He now looks skeletal and has been exhibiting distressing behaviors such as vomiting, bloody stool, diarrhea, eating his feces, and that of our other dogs. After exhausting treatment options, we made the excruciating decision to have him humanely euthanized. We contacted Leader and were told we could bring him in. Upon arrival, we explained Vader’s condition and history in full detail, provided the name of his vet, and clearly stated that we did not want to be present for the procedure. It was already an emotionally devastating moment for us, and we simply wanted to say our goodbyes in peace and while he was awake. I told them I'd like to pay the bill and say goodbye to him while still alive. Unfortunately, the experience we had at Leader made everything worse. Multiple staff members came into the room, questioning us about Vader’s history and the steps we had taken regarding treatment, despite our clear explanation. We were then told that when they contacted our vet, there was no record of our dog or of us — only to later find out they had mistakenly contacted a completely different clinic. I had to show them my phone with text threads from our vet, specifically regarding Vader, dating back to February to prove what I had explained was to the T. Even with all this, the tone remained skeptical and impersonal. We were made to feel as if we were being interrogated (especially the way she questioned us), not supported. The final straw was when we were again questioned about what treatments we had pursued, despite explaining we had done everything except a $5,000 MRI we couldn't afford. We felt completely disrespected during one of the most vulnerable and painful times of our lives. All we wanted to do is put him down humanely and I didn't want to wait another day. We ended up leaving with Vader still alive because we couldn’t bear to go through with it under those circumstances. I’m writing this review not out of anger, but from a place of deep sadness and disappointment. In moments like these, pet owners who know their own pet better than they do deserve compassion, understanding, and dignity — not interrogation or judgment. Leader may have protocols to follow, but kindness and basic human empathy should never be optional.

Negative experience: DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE. They have really bad communication between doctors and front desk. They do not give constant care like they advertise and do not get back to you like they say. They seem not to care for your pet. I even tried to speak with the manager and she was never available. I’m looking into what I can do legally with my situation even tho it has been a few months since I took my cat there. It was a horrible experience and had to change vets ASAP to advance veterinary care center and I’m much happier. Refrain from this place.

Negative experience: Unfortunately, I’ve had more experiences with this place than I would have liked to. And just like every vet clinic, there are good and bad things. VERY money focused. Also, their patient load is so high, it can be difficult to give attention to each animal. While some vets are worth mentioning for their kindness such as Dr. Jason Horgan, some others I would stay away from, Seth Ghantous being at the top of that list. Impatient and arrogant. Also, diagnosed my dog with liver cancer 85% certainty (in consultation with another vet). Never had it. During one admission, they had my dog laying on a stretcher for hours with high fever due to an admin mishap on their end. Another time, after being released from 10 day hospital admission, she reeked of pee all over. Also, if you have any kind of an issue that you expect the office manager to resolve, don’t get your hopes up. She does not advocate for the client. The advantage they have is that they have a lot of specialists in one place, makes it possible to address multiple issues at once. The front desk staff is good. Attentive to details. Even with this experience, I’m thankful for the ones that actually cared and do care for each and every animal in there. My bill was $18,000 for 9-10 days hospital stay.

Fantastic experience: We live in the Florida Keys and our pup suffered from chronic ear infections which caused the growth of a mass in his ear canal fueled by an antibiotic resistant infection. We were referred to LeadER and Dr. Marin. After a consultation and a CT Scan, it was recommended that our pup undergo a Total Ear Canal Ablation to remove the mass and the serious infection. We agreed and proceeded with the surgery. It was a scary time for us but from start to finish, the staff at LeadER, was so friendly, compassionate, responsive to my questions and always available, even after hours. I was notified before my pup went into surgery and sent a photo, and contacted after he came out of surgery. I had a personal phone call from either Dr. Marin or Dr. Wang every day to update me on how Zeke was doing. He was in the hospital for three nights and I got a good night photo each evening. Renee, the assistant to Dr. Marin deserves a special thank you and a big hug for taking time to always be available when I needed even the smallest thing. The entire experience was more than what I ever expected. I cannot recommend LeadER enough! I am so appreciative of the care and love they gave my pup. Thank you LeadER!!!

Fantastic experience: Unfortunately had to make a visit today with my mini pinscher that thought a toad was a viable hunting target. The staff saw her within seconds of walking in, asked pointed questions specific to her incident and took her back for an exam right after. Negative experience: ⭐☆☆☆☆ – Extremely Disappointed and Heartbroken I trusted this hospital with the life of my beloved dog, and it turned out to be the worst decision I could have made. What we experienced was not just medical failure, but a complete lack of compassion, transparency, and urgency. My dog was clearly in a critical state, and yet the staff failed to take immediate action. She was left waiting for days while her condition worsened. I had to insist multiple times before she was properly examined. Even then, the communication was poor and dismissive, I was given vague updates, and I constantly felt like I was being kept in the dark. By the time she was finally transferred to a facility that truly cared, it was too late. I will carry the pain of this loss for the rest of my life, and I believe it could have been prevented if this hospital had acted responsibly and with heart. No pet and no family should ever have to go through what we went through. Please think twice before bringing your animal here.

Negative experience: The staff of this place is terrible. I ran into two people that were to say the least absolutely not nice and frustrated with me for no reason . A veterinary clinic worker should be a compassionate, caring and kind person if you have a bad day, don’t take it out on the customer, especially if your job is to service customers. One of them is a front desk person (don’t know her name, African American girl) and the other person is an older lady who sits in the back checking out people. The check in and the check out experience of a place is very important. Unfortunately, that leaves me a bad taste in my mouth and overall not a good experience to come to this place. I didn’t want to write this review at first because there was only one person at my initial visit but…now today it happened again at my second visit. This clinic should select more carefully who they put in front of the customer. It just makes me wanna not come back.

Fantastic experience: I can’t thank enough Leader Animal Hospital for all what they did for my little Yorkie and for me. From the front desk personnel, to nursing and doctors ; they are very compassionate, kind, professional and charges and fees are fair. I came with my 15 year old close to die and they helped him during his collapsed trachea episode and he survived . During his stay they called me continuously with updates, sent me pictures and the doctors always answer all my questions . This hospital really care, is clean, and abide to professional protocols. I was able to visit him in the ICU and all looked cleaned and the environment was quiet for the doggies. Don’t hesitate to bring your pet to this hospital, doctors have intervened timely and with good knowledge. Thank you all !!!

Fantastic experience: I was sent to this hospital from another at 3 am on a Sunday morning because my pup needed life saving emergency surgery. I admit I was a bit frustrated when I first arrived, not knowing if this place would perform the surgery, and I was not getting many answers. After I met with a doctor and nurse they ran the pricing for the surgery, and would not bring in the emergency surgery team until I paid a deposit. Also frustrating, but I suppose understandable for this type of thing. Everything from the surgery, to the afterwards is when LeadER earned my 5 star review. 30 minutes after I paid a deposit the surgeon was there and met with me, explained the surgery and performed it in the next 30 minutes. The LeadER team was in constant communication through the entire process; sending pictures of our sweet Lily. The discharge two days later went smoothly, and to my complete surprise, they even issued a refund of part of the deposit that was not needed. I appreciate the honesty and the way this place operated to save the life of our pup at 3-4 AM. I would highly recommend this place for any emergency services you may need.

Fantastic experience: While this place has several negative reviews, I had nothing but good experiences. I've only used the ER side of this veterinary hospital and they have gone above and beyond for my babies. Is it expensive? Of course, very, vets are costly and even more when it is an emergency. Are they able to save everyone? Of course not, there are times when even the best care can do nothing. I do recommend this place, it is one of the few 24/7 animal clinics available around with a very good triage system. When my emergency wasn't immediately life threatening I've had to wait for a while and I understand that there are pets that needed care ASAP to survive, so mine could wait a bit. And when I had life-threatening emergencies (dog bit a frog, cat with urinary blockage), I was seen immediately. As for the negative reviews, read them and understand them, but also understand that most people that are writing them are often grieving and upset because they lost their beloved family member. It is normal to feel like something else could have been done, it is part of the grieving process, and it is easier when there is someone tangible that can be blamed, which in this case is the veterinary hospital and the people that work there. It is a hard situation for everyone involved. As I mentioned before I have only good thing to say about the treatment and care my babies have received, and thanks to the LeadER staff they are still here with me.
