Our comment from InfoVet about AM PM Ideal Pet Care:

AM PM Ideal Pet Care is a highly recommended veterinary clinic known for its compassionate and professional care for pets. Many customers appreciate the friendly and knowledgeable staff, who take the time to address all concerns and questions about their furry companions. The first consultation is free, which many find beneficial in alleviating concerns about costly procedures without sacrificing care quality.

Positive aspects of the clinic include:

  • Quick service: Many visitors report prompt attention, particularly for walk-ins.
  • Free initial consultation: A great opportunity for first-time pet owners to receive expert advice.
  • Affordable services: Customers have noted that the pricing for procedures is reasonable compared to other clinics.
  • Staff empathy: Numerous reviews highlight the kindness and sensitivity shown during difficult moments, such as when a pet must be euthanized.

However, some customers have raised concerns about the long wait times, which can sometimes exceed several hours, particularly on busy days. Additionally, a few reviews mention miscommunications regarding procedures and costs, indicating a need for clearer communication with clients. While many express overall satisfaction, potential clients should be prepared for a wait and ensure they are comfortable with the clinic's operational style.

Fantastic experience: Went for a walk-in on a Saturday evening, and it was not too crowded. Only waited a little bit but there wasn't much paperwork and the first consultation is free! The staff were very friendly and addressed all my concerns. My dog had a lot of issues but he was treated professionally and empathetically. I was quoted a price for surgery and it was way lower than what I was expecting. I also don't have any pet insurance. If you're on the fence about seeking help or have any questions about your pet, I recommend visiting.

Fantastic experience: Great service and friendly staff. Got our little one all fixed up quickly and meds prescribed and handed to us prior to leaving.

Fantastic experience: We walked in and less than an hour later we were being attended my a vet to check on our cat. They explained the process in detail and were able to alleviate my cats injury all in a day. They have a really great team and we appreciate their work

Fantastic experience: They treated me and my dog with kindness. Although my little four baby couldn't be saved. Dr. Choi explained my options and helped me make the best decision for my dog although it was not the outcome that I was hoping for my dog. I am very grateful for their kindness and understanding during such a difficult time.

Fantastic experience: My experience here was better than I expected. My Dog was in pain. She has multiple health issues because of her old age. But the staff and the vet were great. The price was reasonable. It didn't cost me an arm and a leg specially with this economy it can get expensive. I love my Dog thank you for the care provided.

Fantastic experience: Dr Choi (the male doctor) is our favorite. He takes his time to explain things and is not in a rush and has compassion. I will only take my pets to him. Vita the manager is amazing. She is so kind and caring. Thank you for taking care of my fur babies!

Katrina Schaeffer Posted on Google 3 months ago

Negative experience: I brought my kitty here a couple weeks ago. First visit with Dr. Choi was okay. Then when i came back with the girl Dr. Lee, i wasn’t happy with the work she did. For example, she would want to do treatments without explaining the reasoning. I then told the front desk i didn’t understand and i’m assuming this was brought up to her so she came out and explained the labs. She then said something about necrotic tissue, but we went somewhere else and they never mentioned that. Also they wanted us to come back every 3 days to spend more money. They kept calling us to come back as well. The new vet said they would do it for half the price they were listing. They also never considered that we lived far and Dr. Lee did mention they were open til 12 AM, but front desk said they are only open til about 8 that day. We will not be back.

Fantastic experience: Super nice employees, very professional and knowledgeable. They care deeply for your pets.

Negative experience: Avoid this place at all costs unless it’s something minor. And get your meds somewhere else! They price gouge like CRAZY. First, the meds: they double the price of meds, I got an antibiotic that cost $54 on chewy, this place charged me $95. I got 50 ml gabapentin from here for $21 and I got 250 ml from Costco for $19. It is insane how much they charge for meds. Get a script and go somewhere else! Second, the actual treatment: I took in one of my strays because something was going on with her and they suggested an extremely invasive procedure that they did not need to do at all but I was just so desperate to get her better, I just let them do it and it all cost over $2k. They claim to be affordable but then push things on you that do not need to be done. And worse, my cat is still super messed up. The incision sites they created are in really bad shape. They really didn’t need to do all that to her. And now, because I spent so much money here, I’m in a huge bind when trying to get her treatment to solve the problems this place created. If you just need something small, or whatever is going on with your pet is not severe, then I’m sure the $40 exam is worth it but otherwise, it is a huge huge scam.

Fantastic experience: I’ve brought all my dogs here to get taken care of by the lovely team in AM PM Ideal Pet. The office is always so welcoming and the environment is always friendly and clean. The front desk personnel, Eileen, (I hope I didn’t butcher her name) was super friendly to my dog Charlie and I as we checked in for his surgery. The whole team AM PM are beyond amazing and I am grateful to have a place where I can take my pets and get taken care of.

Fantastic experience: Very convenience you just go sign up and they give you a call. They very polite. The price are reasonable. I really like it. I have a 9 pets and I take all of them over there. Thank you guys.

Marina Godinez Posted on Google 5 months ago

Negative experience: Not ideal- very poorly run. Late hours but closing early for Halloween and unclear communication regarding medicine and availability of doctors. Was told a day before vet would be in at 4pm and I call back to be told they are closing within the hour. Given meds to administer but vet techs too rushed to do it for a paying customer while other procedures are being done. Later told they administered the medication they gave me to give my cat- but unclear whether they did so or not. They confuse the gender because rushing between patients, and getting names mixed up where another customer was concerned whether the right stuff was done for her dog since they had his name confused.

Fantastic experience: This is a great vet clinic to take your pets to. All the staff is friendly and incredibly dedicated to helping pets and other animals. I trust them all to always do their best and do what's right.

brianna villa Posted on Google 6 months ago

Positive experience: Usually take my dog here all the time, most workers are really nice and trustworthy but some are not :/ took in my dog to get her anal glands secreted, she took my dog in and came right out and said she didn’t have much and had a face of not wanting to be at work. Took my dog home and she was still scratching and scooting like crazy. Took her in a week later, asked for a different associate, cuz the last one sucked, and the new one was much nicer and said her anal glands where packed and it was thick. So the other worker didn’t do anything and it was basically a waste of money. And had to pay again as well.

Negative experience: NEVER GO HERE THEY ARE A RIP OFF! If there was something below one star that's what I would put! Took our dog in and after MANY hours the doctor walked in and said it was pancreatitis before he even did an exam or any tests...they wanted $1400 up front before doing anything...took our dog to the humain society the next day and they ran some tests and ruled OUT pancreatitis... They gave our dog some fluids, a shot for nausea and diarrhea and some probiotics, we get the rest of the test results tomorrow...walked out of there for $370. NEVER GO HERE THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY NOT YOUR PET!

Fantastic experience: Its first come, first served. No appointments. So get here early. It is a very long wait. I was there almost 2 hours. However, the staff was absolutely wonderful, friendly and caring. For this reason I'll be coming back for my pets needs

Negative experience: Last Sunday I brought in my baby Victor (My Cat) because he hadn't ate for 5 days he was lethargic and hiding under my couch. The vet there hardly looked at him she didn't even examine him and right away told me I should have x-rays and an ultrasound done. I agreed and got the x-ray and ultrasound done which they were very bad and inconclusive and she came up with that he has an obstruction blockage and wanted to do surgery on him for $6,000 luckily I didn't have the money so I took him to another vet I had the x-rays and ultrasound sent over and they couldn't read them they said they were bad x-ray and ultrasounds and they were just a mess so they couldn't tell what was wrong with him by those. Luckily they were a wonderful vet kept my baby and found his thyroid was really high and he was backed up he had gas in his stomach. If I would have let them operate on my baby he would have died He's 12 and a half years old and was not stable enough for surgery because he was severely dehydrated and hadn't ate for those five days. All this place cares about is money that's all they wanted from me they told me I should euthanize my baby if I don't have the money for the surgery. Please if you love your babies as much as I love my baby don't bring your baby here.

Diego Rivera Posted on Google 7 months ago

Negative experience: This vet is a rip off and all they want is your money I took in my cat who is feeling sick the nurse practitioner won a $6,000 to do surgery on him or said they have to euthanize them I went to another vet and he was just backed up and in 3 days he was much better they're lying and do not give you the right results all they want is money

Ellis Suarez Posted on Google 7 months ago

Negative experience: Free exam for first time patience but, trust and believe they're going to try to give you something you don't actually have to have they make up for it. Absolutely no compassion at this location. A friend of mine took a dog in there that had just been hit by a car begging them just for a painkiller shot and they wouldn't do it without money. The Reel you in with that free exam and then overprescribed to make it up. This is the dog that got hit by a car and the man was simply begging for a painkiller. Horrible policy no compassion focused only on money

Sandra Renteria Posted on Google 7 months ago

Fantastic experience: This is one of the best vets we have been to. My senior who is 11 years old has been constipated. She needed a procedure many places were rejecting me or wanting to charge us outrageous prices. Here they were hopeful, helpful and did a great job with the procedure. I’m happy they have check ups planned ahead of time. Also planned her diet for me. There is a lot of care here. Juwon has helped us a lot and has continued to throughout this week. Very grateful to this place being genuinely concerned for the pets.

Henrietta Jimenez Posted on Google 8 months ago

Fantastic experience: If your pet needs emergency care this place is great. Nice staff great vets but as I've found out all pet hospitals are super pricey so if you have a pet or pets my advice to you is getting pet insurance it's actually not that expensive and believe me anywhere you go it will cost you to take care of your fur baby. This place is like super ER hospital clean. Plenty of parking and there is a bit of a wait but you know all ER hospitals even human ones you will be there quite a while but isn't your fur baby worth it have a great day and smile at someone they just might smile back

Mercedes Hall Posted on Google 8 months ago

Negative experience: The four ladies in the office were so absorbed in their phones that they completely overlooked our arrival in the emergency room. Without any courtesy, they insisted I place my cat in a cardboard box for $10, despite the fact that no other animals were in boxes. Their demeanor suggested that we were somehow the issue here, which was completely unacceptable.

Jesse S Posted on Google 9 months ago

Positive experience: Doctor and nurses are very nice and communicative. The doctor walks you through any diagnosis or exams they took of your pet and explain it in clear terms and are transparent about next steps. My cat was very sick and they told me options with and without insurance. They also called to follow up to check on his condition. The wait time however is super long. You need to, in person, sign into the wait list. The wait can be 4+ hours long as they are an emergency vet so like a human doctor will prioritize an activity bleeding pet over annual vaccination.

Negative experience: Not cool. Even if you follow there steps for dog to be seen they told me 5 hours. I came back as they email I'm next. No I still waited over and hour. Never coming back to this facility. The only good thing there A C. Was working

Fantastic experience: This place truly cares about your pets. They understand how much we love them and our part of our families. They take great care and give you all the information necessary to make an informed decision. Only complaint, they don't schedule appointments. So, the wait time can be lengthy sometimes.

Emma Searson Posted on Google 10 months ago

Fantastic experience: You can't ask for better care for your pet. From the time you walk in to the time you leave. Everyone from reception to vet assistants to Dr. And pharmacy. Top notch care.

Julio Alvarenga Posted on Google 11 months ago

Negative experience: No reason to call no appointments no info given over the phone they just have walk ins to scan a qr code so you can waste hours of your life while your pet suffers

Delaney Zacarias Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: I brought my cat in yesterday for a check up because he was limping and looked in pain The doctors barely picked him up And told me that it was his nail I was very vocal And told them not once but three times that I think it was something more because I’ve never seen my cat act that way They tried to convince me that it was just a nail and that it might’ve had an infection And then carried on with the price of everything, I left and when I came home my cat started peeing blood and I Immediately went to another doctor Only to find out that my cat has a broken pelvic bone and a dislocated leg. I don’t think that they did their job right or really even took the time to look at him. It doesn’t seem like they really care for the animals clearly they’re only looking for money I can’t help, but think what if I Went home and he passed away, After I spoke up about it and still, nothing was done It wasn’t “just a nail”

Julie Nguyen Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: We were referred over here because everyone is saying they have reasonable pricing. That used to be the case maybe but not anymore. They wanted to charge us $2,275 for extracting 3 teeth. We wasted an hour waiting for the vet too.

Angel Marquez Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: They killed my kitty!! I went to the vet getting my kittens checked out but they put a big thermometer in the cat and it started bleeding. They didn’t realize until minutes later the thermometer was too big. No wonder it’s so cheap because it’s horrible. DO NOT GO HERE.

Kay Reang Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: My cat was limping and I wanted to take him in right away. Great for walk ins, bit of a wait but it is what it is without an appointment. We waited about 2 1/2 hours from the time of check in. Rooms are very clean, I've seen them cleaning it after every patient leaving. Prices are reasonable and they offer the cheapest spay & neuter in this area. $95 for cats and I think $200 for dogs. Even cheaper for smaller dogs.

Jackelin Rodriguez Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: I’ve been bringing my kitten Athena here for the past few months as she has had health issues due to being FELV+. Dr. La and Dr. Kim are the best of the best!

Negative experience: Disappointed with AMPM vet – Prioritizing Profit Over Pet Care I’m very disappointed with AMPM Vet regarding my 5 year old doggie treatment. She was diagnosed with epilepsy and prescribed medication, which seemed to help. However, after a couple of days , the dosage needed adjusting because it was too strong for her. When I requested a refill with a lower dose, they required 2 different blood test, keep in mind one that I just had done 2 week prior and every thing came out good, they were charging over $500—on top of the $500 I had already paid just two weeks prior for blood work . The doctor came in not knowing anything about my dog and said that he needed to do more bloodwork didn’t ask me anything about how the medication was working for her all he cared about was charging me $ 500.00. I understand the importance of monitoring medication, but this seemed excessive and unaffordable. Because I couldn’t immediately pay for the additional tests, they refused to prescribe the medication, resulting in my doggie suffering another seizure. Anyone who knows about seizure treatment understands that medication should never be stopped abruptly—it requires careful adjustment. It’s heartbreaking to feel like profit is prioritized over pet well-being. I will not be returning and am now searching for a new veterinarian who genuinely cares about animals rather than just financial gain. If you’re considering AMPM be aware that their prices are extremely high, in my experience, they lack compassion for pets and their owners.

Negative experience: FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!! They will not test your cat for allergies because Dr. Lee says its uncommon (opposite of what their website says) and gave me a list of places to go get him tested for allergies (even though their website says they do it there) and also advised he see a dermatologist (which they also advertise they have there). Dr. Lee wouldn't even look at his past medical records from a specialist to see he has a healthy eardrum but he is itching. He didn't even examine or look at my cat. So sad everyone else there is so sweet, but its the doctor that treats your animal not the nice staff. Dr. Lee is someone I would NEVER trust my animal with! TO THE OWNER: Also as stated in our previous messages your doctor was provided that information sent from a specialist and could have also gained more knowledge by not only reading that but reading his VCA file as that is his vet and he was there for allergy testing that your doctor said he doesnt do because they are not common in cats. He did not read extra knowledge and resources. As also stated to your doctor that our specialist said we could go to a secondary place for allergy testing that isnt so expensive since we had spent so much fixing his ear. And also discussed in our messages is the main reason I made a comment is FALSE ADVERTISEMENT and why the complaint is being filed.

Positive experience: If you want to save some money, and don't mind waiting, this is the place to go. I got there at 9:30am, and ended up 14th in line, they allow people to start lining up at 8, and sign up for the line at 8:30. I left about 2:30pm. If you live close this make not be an issue as you can go in and sign up, then go home and watch your place in line then drive back, as they don't require you to stay there to wait, but you do have to be there in person to sign up. They also do not make appointments so you do have to take your chances as any particular day the wait could be more or less. I also went on a Saturday which is most likely the busiest day. However once in a room my wait was still a couple hours, I was also not warned ahead to being all my documentation, and I did ended up cycled through about 5 members of their staff. I was not warned they recommend benadryl shot as well which is nearly $30. I will also say by the time I saw them i was cranky, my dog antsy, and so I was not the nicest version of myself, so I probably would also rate a 2 or 3 star customer for this particular trip. All in all I got what I needed to get my dog his shots, I knocked a couple of stars for lack of information up front, about what was needed and the process itself and what types of difficulties I may have with my particular situation. As I feel if I had this knowledge I would have been more prepared.

Fantastic experience: Brought my cat here because she had a hematoma. I liked that that doctor went over all recommendations but wasn’t insistent that we do everything recommended. The price is very reasonable compared to most vets. I’ve also brought other pets to get spayed/neutered and had a good experience as well. I don’t live nearby but in case of an emergency I would drive to bring my pets here.

Fantastic experience: If you want Excellent care for your pet and not pay a super high price for services, go to this clinic/hospital. Based on my recent experience, I can honestly say they genuinely care about your Pet family member, I highly recommend.

Margarita “Maggie” Posted on Google 1 year ago

Positive experience: Mother of 3 furry ones here, has been my go to Vet for 4 years. Have declined some services because can't afford but always ask if there's alternatives including for meds, or see if substantially less if get prescription filled at a pharmacy/Costco. Prices are pretty reasonable compared to others. Can be a long wait but great allow walk-ins. Try to arrive before opens. Overall, all vets & staff are patient in explaining-answering questions & courteous. Thankful they've helped mine, bless them & their ❤️s as they work hard.

Suzie Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: The girl with the short hair took my cat's temperature and I truly have the feeling she hurt him on purpose because he's had a test and temp taken a few times at the clinic and this was the first time he yelled and continued to yell until she was completely done. I can't get this out of my mind all day. I should have confronted her and maybe I still will. Listen, you should really think about what you're doing with people's pets from now on. You know what I'm talking about before you get yourself in real trouble. Also the vets here honestly suck. At least the two I saw. They aren't paying attention because they say things that don't make sense to what you're telling them and they are giddy to upsell you if you even mention anything that'll empty your pockets further, you'll finally see some enthusiasm and you feel rushed, at least I did...disregarded and unrecognized. Sorry I'm just trying to care for my animal..they made me feel like I wasn't really worth valuing while there even tho I spent near 500$ with tests just to make sure my cat would be safe for neutering. Smug with me for absolute no reason I could possibly imagine but nonetheless cold and unprofessional. I had an appt to have him neutered at another high volume clinic bc he was having diarrhea that day and I wanted to make sure he was okay. They robbed my pockets without really considering the actual situation and I could go on and on but I won't. The other clinic probably refered me out of spite bc I wasn't quick to just hand them my cat for neutering that morning. Thought about if I should leave my review or not but honestly, why shouldn't I share my honest experience. He's my first pet and so far nightmare with these clinics. Do vets and clinics actually care about animals or is it just going to be a nightmare dealing with them and a naive pipe dream to think hopefully some do. It's honestly disgusting that human beings capitalize on any possible corner of humanity to be about a business and $ and that's it and the lack of professionalism and consistency. How human. Animals are so pure. The thought the dumby was intentionally thoughtless taking my cats temperature...some people take their micro aggressions out on their innocent animals so beware is what I've learned to sense here! Every attempt to smile at her or connect she was stone cold up to that point so I'm pretty sure she was being purposely nasty. Not all people at vet clinics are kind and actually care about animals. Why would she be so rough taking an innocent cats temperature.... unbelievable. I think you should consider being more kind if you're going to assist in helping animals. Especially when it's actually enraging their caretakers

Fantastic experience: Wait times for walk-ins were 2-3 hours. Which was expected for a walk-in. They’re very informative and helpful. Staff was very nice as well.

Negative experience: Horrible experience here! I was told that my cat was a girl. The doctor did x-rays and examined my cat. I saw most of the things the doctor did to my cat. He still said that my cat was a girl. Sent me to another site in Torrance to get my cat an emergency surgery. Otherwise, my cat would die in a few hours. At that hospital, the doctors tell me that there's an 85% chance that my cat wouldn't come out of surgery to say our goodbyes since it was a female cat. My kids were on a family outing that day with their dad. I had to rush my kids over to say their possible good byes to our cat. We were all emotional. Upon leaving the hospital in Torrance, the surgeon tells me, "No news is good news. But, if you get a call from us, that means it's bad news. " So we left the hospital drive home an hour away. Driving up to our house and getting the call. Our cat was a boy the whole time and didn't even need surgery. The worst part is that I gave a little over $8k cash to the hospital for surgery that wasn't needed. From that $8k. They only gave me $645 back. All that because ampm couldn't tell me that my cat was a boy and urinary infections are normal in male cats. That doctor examined my cat and everything, took x-rays, and even put something else in him and couldn't tell me that my cat was a male the whole time?

Fantastic experience: They have been nothing but great. I first went to them when our 22 yr old Cat who was having seizures. We ended up having to put her to sleep as she was very sick. The Doctor and Staff were very compassionate and caring. The nurse sat with my Daughter and I while the medications were administered and consoled my 24 yr old daughter as her cat that she had since she was 2yrs old took her last breath. This was 3yrs ago. Since then I've taken my 6yr old cat twice for minor issues and each time we were all treated very well and their prices are very reasonable.I would highly recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: I want to extend my deepest gratitude to AMPM Ideal Pet Care for saving my dog's life. You took on a very tough and risky procedure, and your dedication, expertise, and compassion made all the difference. I can't thank you enough for giving us more time together.

Fantastic experience: I’ve visited this clinic a few times, and the staff are always understanding and helpful. They helped my cat Mimi recover and were just as kind when I brought in a stray. When I accidentally spilled some medication, they provided more, even without prior notice. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: The staff here is compassionate and caring. I took a feral cat that chose me a few years ago for her first and final vet visit and they were wonderful to me. I am so grateful to AM PM Veterinary Clinic, I will never forget how kind you were.

Fantastic experience: My kitten was spayed at the spay/neuter clinic (SNC) in Norwalk on Friday. She seemed to have a reaction to the anesthesia (or just fast metabolism…) and was wide awake, restless, pacing, and jumping on everything. I was so scared that she’d hurt herself and open up the incision. I called AM PM hospital because the spay clinic was closed. This was after my local (non- AM PM) Vet office wouldn’t help us and told me to bring her to urgent care or emergency. Thank you to AM PM staff working on 10/4! Lead vet tech, Adam, helped calm my anxieties and consulted the vet who prescribed a sedative for my kitten to help her rest. My dad picked up the medicine and he said the office was beautiful and clean and that it looked brand new. Highly recommend them for their kind and compassionate care. Also the SNC saved me hundreds of dollars vs aforementioned local vet.

Fantastic experience: The staff are all amazing and caring. I came here on the recommendation of another veterinarian and I am really glad I came here with my 11 year old dog.

RealityCheck Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: We first went to our local vet "Thomas Veterinary Hospital" in Downey since we always see people waiting and figured it must be decent. The vet there was condescending and very rude to us. People love their pets and need help, so he's always busy but the guy is a prick - to put it politely. His assistant seemed friendly but couldn't offer us much help since she doesn't necessarily call the shots. I felt bad for her because she wanted to help just couldn't she recommended us going to AM PM Ideal Pet Care as the doctor glared at her from one of the rooms. As if she was spending too much time, the 20-30 seconds it took handing us a card with their address. This was my first experience with a vet, and I must say AM PM was a night and day difference. Everyone was so friendly and professional. The doctor who saw us as well was so caring and compassionate. The only downside is that the wait can be long, depending on the day we waited 6-7 hours. Once you are on the waitlist, though you're good it's just a matter of waiting while wishing you could help your furry friend immediately. That's the hard part, but having the peace of mind knowing help is there eventually is reassuring. It's not an easy job dealing with what they do day-to-day but I'm thankful they're there to help. The staff here are wonderful.

Negative experience: Retaliation is the word, I rescued a cat. Her name is Skyler in other words was Skyler until this morning when Clinic called me that she had passed away during the night I had gone to the vet to have her spayed but they wanted to charge me $500, so they recommended it was only 150 with medication and all but like Reviews, they didn’t communicate and they had me pick her up around 5:30. I dropped her off at 10 called at three to see if my cat was ready when I picked her up at 5:30. The incision was didn’t look well. they didn’t explain the medication then brought it in for a checkup. There was fluid on the incision Because of me asking questions and they wanted to give me the runaround I was upset so they came and they told me bring your cat in on Tuesday. We are going to see ???What with the fluid. You can leave her here. add no charge we’re going to do the operation at no charge but before that the head doctor there has been aggressive and something told me they’re gonna put my pet down. I felt something weird last night like don’t leave your pet and why would they do all this for no charge the man gave me all the hints said they were going to put my pet down but I didn’t see it this morning. they called unfortunately, passed away. My cat was recuperating, she was eating she was licking her paws. She was walking around anxious to get out but because of maybe the attitude I gave them some occasions they went and they retaliated I really regret not listening to my gut feeling but I’m gonna have an investigation on this place for all the people that have gone through some things in this place.

Negative experience: Our dog was attacked and in really bad shape and needed immediate attention, instead of helping I was left dealing with their policies and forms. Would have taken just one person there a moment to say," HEY! You need to take him somewhere else. We aren't equipped to handle this." --- Had we waited for them to intake and evaluate, we would have lost our dog. Felt completely ignored by the staff. Instead of helping the situation, they only hindered. Avoid this place at all costs.

Negative experience: ⚠️ WARNING ⚠️ Saturday August 3, 2024 I brought in my 14 year old small chihuahua to get xrays and ultrasound. I told a Dr Choi That our regular vett said My baby was too old for sedation but she said no she would be fine. I regret listening to her advice. My baby was home 10 minutes when she passed away! NEVER LET THESE VETS who don't know you're fur kids give you advice that goes against your regular vet and who knows them better than us. I feel they knew my baby wasn't well when they sent us home. THINK TWICE BEFORE COMING HERE!!!!

Fantastic experience: I can't say I have had one bad experience about this place. When I was first introduced to this place was roll over 5 years ago and I had adopted a German Shepherd they had gotten degloved and I had nothing but bone intended on the hind leg and I took her Misty my German Shepherd here Dr Kim did an amazing job with her hind leg. Because I believe that any place else they would have wanted to amputate it. The Dr Kim wasn't for amputating it he wanted to try to save it. I must say he did an amazing job. And his will to save it until help my German Shepherd was unspeakable he is definitely all for the animals and helping them get back to good health. I have eight dogs four German shepherds American pit to American pit / German Shepherd mix and a chihuahua can I take them all to AMPM ideal. So there is no bad experience for me. Well I guess someone would say the waiting line would be a bad experience because at times you do have to wait for some hours but they notify you when you get close that just shows you that they do such an amazing job. But not only the Drs but also the receptionist also do an amazing job customer service keeping everything in order and running like it should be and helping you with whatever questions you have and are very patient and respectful.

Negative experience: It's hard enough to make the decision to put down your pet, especially for quality of life reasons. You celebrate all day and make sure they have a wonderful last day. You called to AM PM Ideal Care ahead of time and asked if they take appointments - they only take walk ins. So why was there no signage posted about no more walk-ins after spending the whole day with your dog? So deflating and depressing to have to find another place to gather up the mental fortitude and strength to put down your dog. The technicians there seemed hesitant to talk to, not warm or friendly at all - they were "busy" with how many emergency cases there were, but one of them was clearly on their phone. Not welcoming, not warm, not informative, not even the cheapest place. Please always check and call, especially if you go later on in the day - if they have stopped taking in walk-ins for the day. Sucks to have their rooms all full because of emergency cases, but at least provide some sort of hospitality, courteous words, or information other than other locations nearby. To anyone having to put their beloved animal/friend/family member down, just know my deepest condolences for you. I hope they find love and care until the very end. Ideally, at a place that will treat your pets as well as they treat you in this difficult time.

Negative experience: Do not ever go here!! This place is very unorganized I was told I had to wait 5 to 6 hours to euthanize my already suffering friend so my best buddy had to suffer for 6 more hours before I had to walk in there and yell at these fools about why it took so long to help my friend move on, I was also told if I wanted I could move ahead in the waiting line for a 100 dollar fee!!! Imagine that!!! This place is about the profit not the pet care please be smart and do yourself a huge favor do not do business with these idiots because they suck!!!!! You'll thank yourself later!

Lizbeth Lara Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: They are wonderfully compassionate. There was nothing to be done for my pet but they were incredibly nice. Their prices are very affordable, they work on Saturdays too, though there is a long wait time. It's on a walk in basis, you sign up and can wait online or in person.

LC Cor Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: WAIT TIME: 2-6 HOURS. NOT WORTH IF EMERGENCY Took my baby here for urgent care and visit after visit the wait times were ridiculously long. They did not resolve problem nor help my baby recover even after exams. I felt terrible having to wait in my car while my cat was in pain from who knows what. The last time I took him the doctor didn’t seem to provide solutions and said he might not even survive the surgery and would recommend to put down. I didn’t want to put my cat through anymore pain and I didn’t know what else to do as I felt they knew best but also I felt pressured that he wouldn’t survive much longer and suffer. The only solution he provided was to put him down and it was so disappoint to hear. After a hard decision I accepted to put my cat down as I was made like it was hopeless. They were quick to act and wanted me to sign payment and paperwork right away without remorse. I wanted to grieve and process and after they asked what I wanted for his after care I said I wanted to take him home. He told me it was illegal and I felt confused and upset as I had personally wanted to plan his aftercare elsewhere. I wasn’t allowed to take him. Worse experience ever.

Kara Mccarter Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: For those that gave this place good reviews for affordability, exactly what did you bring your pet in for and what did you have to pay? I brought my cat in and they wanted to charge me 700 flat rate to even be seen despite whatever the issue. At first they said it was for emergency care and then when I told them it's not an emergency, they told me it's their flat rate. That's freaking ridiculous. Why does it cost more to care for our pets than it does for us to euthanize them? Make it make sense. Smh

karla valdivia Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Always so helpful. Appointments are not accepted, it’s first come, so you could wait a while. Unless you live in the area. You can go home and they give you a 5 min heads up. I’ve taken all my pets here. Reasonable prices.

Negative experience: Horrible service. They take what's not theirs u can't forget items in this office because this clinic will keep your stuff and never return it to you. I called various of times over an item I lost and they promise to contact me back With a status I had to call like 6 times to verify because they wouldn't keep their word. On top of that, They won't return your items if your forget them. This place is not recommendable at all. Low cost but they charge u expensive with your own stuff that you leave behind.

Negative experience: Hello, I came in to get my babies their shots. This place had me wait 5 hours, took me in and had me wait another hour in the room w my two frightened kittens … they took so long my kittens ended up falling asleep. just for them to tell me one of my kittens won’t be able to get vaccinated and the Dr diagnosed my other kitten with respiratory infection just by looking at his face.(he looks like any other healthy kitten, no problems and no breathing problems what so ever) My kitten does not have ANY symptoms of respiratory infection other than the dry boogers I noticed on him that same day. (My kittens are both 2 months) they wasted my time and tried bsing me for more money . Will never go again!

Positive experience: A good place to get your pet spayed or neutered. For under $100 you can get your pet fixed. This price though does not cover pain medication or anything else. So by the time they get to your emotional side, expect to be paying hundreds more. You might as well go to a fancy Animal hospital to receive care. The whole AM PM set up is not based in helping low income pet owners, as they claim, and doesn't care about hurt or sick animals. If you can pay hundreds mostly thousands of dollars than they will help your pet. I have watched staff turn away desperate pet owners with their sick or injured dogs because they couldn't pay up front to get their animal even looked at. That isn't how you treat low income patrons or innocent suffering animals. I only use them to neuter my cats. I know cats will never swallow or chew pills so I don't ever spend the extra money on pain medication and AM PM doesn't offer liquid pain medication. If you keep your cat quiet in a dark room, they will heal quickly without pain medication. Save yourself $56. As for the cone around the neck, not one of my dozens of cats, throughout 4 decades, has ever left it on for more than a day. They and the dogs hate it and always take it off. For a $1 piece of plastic, be ready to be charged by a vet anywhere from $15 to $40 for this thing that doesn't work. Obviously it's every pet owner's decision on how to treat their pet. Just know that cats when kept calm and isolated, heal quickly and Antibiotics cure about 75% of most illnesses in our pets. I had a stray cat who lived in my back yard get hit by a car. He was limping horribly. I couldn't catch him though to get him help. 3 months later, he was healed as normal. Cats are surprisingly quick in healing their bodies. Yes, there are the exceptions that's why it's always your call.

Negative experience: We have been customers here for my mom's 2 dogs at the recommendation of my family member who knows Dr. Lee, the owner. Every person we have interacted with for the past 4 years has been friendly and accommodating. However, the last visit in October 2023 with Dr. Choi completely changed my view. My mom's dog, Tori, had suddenly developed a severe and life threatening cough a couple of days after his check up appointment here. I took the day off work and immediately went in, and the staff did an awesome job to see Tori as an emergency case. Dr. Choi insisted that it was Tori's heart problems, but when I voiced that it was something else, he began patronizing me, asking whether I knew what an arrthymia was and throwing in advanced medical terminology in an effort to assert his opinion. Even after I said that these were completely new and worsened symptoms unrelated to Tori's heart issues, Dr. Choi referred us to go to a cardiologist instead for X-rays and an Echocardiogram. Good thing I studied and taught (still teaching) Biology for 8 years! And even better that I actually have an arrythmia myself (and received echocardiograms etc)!!!! If it was someone else, like my immigrant mother or any other person in my shoes, he would have successfully bullied them into doubting their experience/intuition and killing their dog. After a pretty intense/weird/condescending back and forth with an increasingly reddening Dr. Choi, I was finally able to get a medication for Tori, and guess what!! I was right!!! Tori got better. Following this unacceptable interaction with a doctor that had never even examined Tori before, I contacted the management and talked with Vita Martinez, the manager. I said it was unacceptable that Dr. Choi would try to intimidate patients in such a manner and all I wanted was for him to rectify his behavior in the future as well as a direct apology. Vita said that Dr. Lee was in Korea, and that she would follow up in a month when he was back. I have waited patiently for the followup, and it is now March 2024. I called the office, and Vita returned my call and promised that she had communicated my concerns and that there has been a resolution. I am writing this review because I do not believe that she has actually done so, and I believe that the public should be on guard on the type of interactions that may occur here. PLEASE DEFEND YOURSELF/YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS IF YOU CHOOSE TO TAKE YOUR BELOVED PET HERE. Do not let yourself be belittled or disrespected by a self-righteous, ill-mannered, and ill-tempered man with a weird superiority complex that gets in the way of actually saving lives :/ If you read my previous reviews, I have been to many clinics, and I have gotten pretty good at determining the difference between a vet who still cares and listens vs one who has reached a point of ignorance in their career. I have lost my own pet by trusting an incompetent vet like Dr. Choi, and I refuse to let it happen again. Dr. Choi, if you are reading this, please do better.

Negative experience: SCAM!! This place is a giant scam. You tell them your cat doesn’t have fleas but ask if the doctor could double check for you. He confirms CAT DOESNT HAVE FLEAS. Then sends the nurse in with a 1000 vet bill saying they want $200 tests $80 treatments etc etc. I have owned a lot of animals in my life and been to many vets. This place is ridiculous. For those of you with this problem you CAN tell them you don’t want the test and treatments that’s ARE unnecessary. Take them to a humane society for treatment iv gone to other vets & left paying only $150 this vet wants you to leave paying minimum $800. They must think we’re stupid because flea meds don’t cost $80 you can buy it at Walmart for $15 save yourself some money and don’t let them bully you and make you think your animal is gonna die if you don’t pay for completely unnecessary tests. Save your pet and save your pocket.

Fantastic experience: We have 2 dogs and we have been taking them here whenever they need a check up or when they are sick. All the Doctors here are just amazing. Their price is reasonable. All the staff that works here genuinely care about your pets. I highly recommend them. Never had a bad experience here.

Fantastic experience: The veterinarians are amazing. They are very caring and I completely trust them. I have been going here for 3 years. I have seen doctor Choi and Doctoe Lee and they are extremely caring and explain everything to you. The wait time is long. You can spend 6 hours here but the care is all worth it.

Negative experience: I took my dog to be spayed. All went well with drop off. At pick up time, I received her medication and then received my dog after. I revised her incision area just so I can take note of what “normal” looks like and so I can be aware of any warning signs. I noticed that they glued her nipple sideways and when I asked the Male technician (Misa) “is that ok? Will her nipple unstick on its own?” He replied by saying “well, it doesn’t matter. It’s not like she’ll be using it.” My question to the male tech now is: If I glue your nipple sideways accidentally, will it matter? You won’t be using it anyway, right?” Needless to say, I will not be going back to AMPM in the future thanks to that experience I had. Customer Service: -1,000/10

Negative experience: I will not return to this place, they are unprepared and utterly lack common decency, I took my baby to the emergency, because he vomited red with foam, they charged me $700 dollars for that (which was returned) but according to the vet it was not "serious" and that I should wait in line for 5 to 6 hours. My baby was already fine because I decided to take him quickly to another emergency location, where they charged me $250 for an emergency, where they resolved what my baby had in a more efficient way.

Samantha Cortes Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: love the staff and how reasonable the prices are. the wait WILL most likely be some hours like 3-7 hours since it’s a first come first serve bases. I recommend just coming in to scan the qr code to get waitlisted and then wait in your house after that since the wait will be a couple hours long. they will call you when your turn is coming up next so that gives you time to come back with your pet.

Negative experience: Yes I may get a free first visit but then they want to do hundreds of dollars worth of diagnostics. If u refuse they call animal control on you. Fortunately the cat in question is fine but dealing with animal control still is. No fun. Cat was throwing up occasionally but still pooping and peeing. I didn’t feel she was blocked but they wanted to do both X-rays and ultra sound. The omeprazole that I chose from their treatment plan and stopping her babies from nursing fixed the issue. Still alone 1.5 weeks later and not throwing up. Also gaining weight back. Ty for causing me added stress and issues.

Negative experience: Honestly never again am I taking my dog to this vet they diagnosed him wrong even if they took samples of what he was going through and they wanted to charge us around $1,000 just to get him nurtured plus surgery to pop his protege gland and take a sample out of it. So we decided to take him somewhere else to get him neutered and they told us their diagnosis was very wrong and told us the truth of where his problem was actually occurring and proved of everything as well. And they only charged us $400 for neutering and the shots were cheap at the vet we went to were like $12 only and they were also going to clean his teeth so doing all that work for $400 is worth it and very good comparing to the trash job these people did to my dog with their wrong diagnosis. NEVER AGAIN! he’s doing well btw and recovering :)

Fantastic experience: I've been here twice. Once in 2018 when they were at a smaller building and just last week at their new building, but both times with Dr. Lee. First time was for a significantly large abcess removal for my angel boy cat, we will call him "Shmovolone" for identity purposes. Dr. Lee and the staff were always kind and understanding. I tend to get a bit emotional when it comes to leaving my precious prince anywhere else without me, but they took absolutely amazing care of him, and were so kind to me. In 2018, "Shmovolone" went through surgery perfectly and every check up went smoothly. Last week I came because my handsome man had a lipoma and an abcess that ruptured ☹️ Dr. Lee immediately recognized my kiddo, gave me his advice and suggested treatment plan. We followed through with the plan and "Shmovolone" is recovering like a CHAMP! I cried in the middle of Ross when I got the phone call from Dr. Lee that surgery was a success. He rejoiced with me while I cried on the phone thanking him . We went for our bandage removal yesterday and Dr. Lee was really happy to see him healing, and we were really happy to see Dr. Lee happy to see us lol Dr. Lee is truly a remarkable person and professional. He is not only intelligent but kind, compassionate, and very successful in his line of work. You can tell that the staff care about their patients a lot here that has to be a contributing factor for their HUGE patient base, (which is also why I assume wait times are so long besides the fact that they're thorough). I've been to places in Irvine and Silverlake that weren't as attentive as I'd like for my perfect papas, and knew I HAD to come here. Thank you Dr. Lee and all the amazing staff. We appreciate your hard work and dedication❤️ We will be back at the end of September for stitch removal ☺️❤️

Negative experience: Hello Pet Owners, This place charges as much as a regular vet and recommends procedures that your pet may not need. I paid over $4,000 for my cat staying at the hospital with kidney failure for 5 days. He came back home feeling worse with urinary issues (catheter was placed but not needed) and he got severely infected with fleas at the hospital. Most important is we were referred to specialty emergency clinic after 5 days or to put him down when a typical vet would have prescribed fluids to be given at home instead - more available, affordable, and better for the pet. I’m thankful my friends told me that we had to get fluids at another vet and helped saving my cat’s life for as long as I’ll have him. Please note that this place has many patients daily that were put down and if they had kidney failure there is a possibility that they could have lived longer at home on fluids. Some cats live multiple years! Please take this review in consideration. Please go to a place that has time and resources to take care of your fur family member. Well wishes

Negative experience: In early July, 2023, I went to this hospital because my dog’s right front leg looked uncomfortable, and she was diagnosed with arthritis symptoms and All other blood tests and X-rays of the liver, kidney, heart, etc. were diagnosed as being very healthy. I fed the medicine prescribed by the doctor, but she vomited, had diarrhea, and later had bloody diarrhea. During this process, I had to visit the hospital 4 times within about 3 weeks. Every 4 visits, a different doctor came in and brought in the basic chart, but I had to explain from the beginning while holding a sick baby. My baby, who was said to be perfectly healthy, became seriously ill after about 3 weeks, left me and went to heaven, and now only pain and regret remain in my arms and heart instead of my beloved dog daughter. I don't think there is any reason for my baby to leave in pain so suddenly, other than the medication prescribed by the hospital without proper instruction. Once, it was an emergency situation where my dog, who suddenly became ill had diarrhea in the hospital lobby, I was perplexed, but an employee told me to take my baby out immediately to the outside of the cement floor with no shade under the scorching sun. I can't forget the face and voice of the staff I always arrived at the hospital between 7:40 am to 8:00 am at the latest, treatment starts at the hospital around 11am, and when I get home after receiving medicine to be almost 1:00 pm, and the bill after I asked to exclude procedures that were not most urgently needed right now, such as joint injections, was over $2,000. Maybe it’s because there are so many patients waiting, but the time we met the doctor was about 10 minutes, I did not receive an accurate explanation of the examination my dog received, and the medicine was given by someone other than a doctor, but they did not give accurate instructions and there was also staff who talked about completely different drugs interchangeably. I was only able to receive the test results after paying the money and requesting the test results separately, and I was able to receive the results of three of the tests after my dog left me. I ended up having to transfer my baby to an emergency hospital, take an ambulance and specialty hospital, paying over $12,000 in the process. My daughter had to go through all of this in pain and suffering and eventually left us. I am going through the pain and suffering now and my heart is torn to pieces wondering if my daughter, who had been abandoned by her first family many years ago, might have thought that I, the Mother had abandoned her while she was going through this pain. I am not an expert in this field. That's why I pay money and find an expert, and I think that if anyone is a doctor who is responsible for life, I think that person should be responsible for all this processes & results . If they don't have that attitude and can't take responsibility, I think it's right to find another job.

Negative experience: I wanted to love this place but it hasn’t been the best experience. 1. Waitlist doesn’t really work. 2. Staff needs way better communication. They did not send our dog’s tumor off to biopsy after we paid for it. We took our dog for a first time appointment. We got on the waitlist and headed over when we received a text saying to go back because it was our turn soon. We still had to wait 3+ hours after getting there. The receptionist told us near the end of the wait she was going to clean a room for us and would be ready in 10-15 minutes. 40 minutes later we were still waiting for the room. The visit went well. It was to remove an eyelid surgery and this day we said we did not want the tumor to be sent off to get a biopsy. We were to bring our dog back the next day for an eyelid tumor surgery. We took him in the next day and inform the receptionist we changed our mind and paid for the biopsy. Surgery goes well. A week goes by and no one has called for biopsy results so I call in. At this point I already suspected something was off. They said the dr will call me within 24 hrs. More than 2 days later the dr calls and says there was a miscommunication between his receptionist and him and he didn’t know we changed our mind so he didn’t send the tumor off to get the biopsy. We are so disappointed. Our boy is a 10 year old boxer. Boxers are prone to cancer. After spending all that money to remove it we won’t know if it’s cancerous unless it comes back so now we just have to wait. I guess there wasn’t anything else the dr could have said besides apologize but that’s not enough. This was a terrible mistake and we are so upset. He said the clinic manager would call us back to issue a refund and no one as called me. We have to take him back to get stitches removed so I guess we’ll figure it out then.

Negative experience: This place is absolutely horrible. IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PETS WELLBEING YOU'LL GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! First time going and definitely the last! We signed in and filled out the paperwork. The wait is 3-4hrs so we leave and later return when it's our turn to be seen. The staff then lead us to a room to wait for the doctor who's coming "momentarily" 45min pass and we still haven't been attended. We let the staff know we've been waiting for 45min and they said "oh the doctor is explaining things to the previous patients he'll be in momentarily" so we wait another 45min untill we let another staff member know that we've been waiting for over 1hr at this point. She leaves and comes back 5min later and says "the Doctor is explaining things to previous patients, if you're in a hurry come back another day" EXTREMELY RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. Appointment come with 2hr waiting period. Needless to say we got up and left! I would rate ZERO if I could!

Positive experience: This is a great place, but if you want fast service then this is not the place, it’s an ALL day wait. You go in the morning and place yourself on the waiting list and you get a number then when you number comes up 2hrs or so they will call you on your cells phone saying your are coming up so you head down there again and bad thing about this, you need to wait another 2hrs in the waiting room even if they called you and said you are next. I think they should call a person 30min before so when we get there we are ready to go in …. Best thing don’t bring your pet when you first get there unless it’s an emergency

Fantastic experience: They are great and accept walk-ins! They call you a few minutes before your turn for a walk-in, so you don't have to wait hours in the waiting room with your pet. Dr. Lee is great. They are not rushed, snappy or rude. He took really good care of our dog and answered all our questions. They also give you a quote/estimate for services, so you won't get billed for something you don't want. If you refuse certain services, they are not rude and don't try to make you pay for unnecessary things.
