Fantastic experience: Had a great experience at Blue Pearl Pet Hospital. Staff was very helpful and Dr Miller very informative and answered any questions I had. My other dog will be a patient there soon and I would recommend BluePearl to my friends and family.

Fantastic experience: We were referred to Blue Pearl after an unfortunate dental accident that caused issues with the throat of our 13 year old shorkie. The staff and doctors were supportive and thoughtful during the entire 4 day ordeal and provided peaceful accommodation and amazing medical treatment. Fantastic experience: New visit February 24, 2026 Dr Tracey Rossi is outstanding, she explained the process to examine our pet Lola’s pancreas and liver. Afterwards she explained the results and recommended a treatment plan. She also advised which foods would be best for our little girl. Thank you Dr Rossi for all your help. We highly recommend Blue Pearl, everyone is helpful and friendly. Blue Pearl hospital was very professional and friendly. Friendly front desk staff greeted us and checked us in. Dr Miller is fantastic, she patiently explained the test results and clearly answered our questions. We highly recommend Blue Pearl for your pets health needs.

Fantastic experience: We had an unexpected, semi emergent situation with our young German Shepherd. Of course it was after 5:00pm on Friday evening. Thankfully our regular vet had a referral for after hours needs and directed us to Blue Pearl. Although it was very busy, we got quick and professional support from everyone at the front desk, the vet techs and Dr Brown. Emergency vet services aren’t cheap, but feeling like you are getting clear information and explanations for every aspect of the care required is worth every penny. It took several hours for Keira to be treated (surgical wound repair under partial anesthesia) and then alert enough to go home, but the confidence we felt in knowing that she was getting excellent care and treated with gentle compassion was so reassuring. Keira is home, on the mend and we are clearly in the know about her follow care and when to seek additional support if necessary. As much as I wish an Emergency Vet visit wasn’t necessary, I’m so grateful for and appreciative of the fantastic experience we had at Blue Pearl! Thank you so, so much!

Fantastic experience: We took my Australian Shepherd in who has stage four AGASACA to get some medication to make her more comfortable and help control her diarrhea. We had been to our family vet and an oncologist before this who could not help us. The oncologist said that they did not prescribe any long-term medication’s unrelated to surgery or radiation and our family vet said that this was way over his head. After everyone refused to help us, we were referred to Blue Pearl ER. Dr. Brown was very understanding and supportive of our situation. She conducted a full blood panel and gave us some ideas of what we could do to help her. The blood panel was around $700 but this really gave us peace of mind and knowing that we were doing the best we can to support our baby girl in her final days. We did not need to have an appointment. We just walked right in. The whole process took around 2 to 3 hours on a Friday night. I would definitely come here again if we are in the area.

Positive experience: Exceptional Medical Care Marred by Billing Incompetence We are incredibly grateful for the medical expertise of Dr. Rossi and Susan. Dolly’s dual endoscopies were handled with great care. However, the discharge process was an absolute ordeal. When my husband arrived for pickup, the front staff (Sharook and Katie) presented an invoice that ignored our 25% 'Access to Care' discount. Even after correcting that, they refused to properly process our $1,300 deposit. Despite Susan’s previous assurances, the front desk insisted on treating the deposit as a payment, which would have completely skewed our Trupanion claim. Most frustrating was the staff’s refusal to listen or even speak with the Trupanion representative I had on the phone. It took Bree from the Internal Medicine department stepping in to fix the error. The initial attempt to collect over $6,000 ended with the hospital actually owing us a refund of $558.81 once the insurance was correctly filed. It is disheartening that after receiving such high-level clinical care, we were stuck for over an hour fighting with an uncooperative and untrained billing team. If you use Trupanion or have specific discounts, be prepared to advocate for yourself aggressively at the front desk.

Fantastic experience: We were very happy with the emergency care and treatment Dr. Sran provided to my cat, I would rate her excellent- her diagnosis, prompt action treatments , thorough knowledge and bedside manners is excellent. She was caring., very compassionate and explained my pet’s problems very clearly and answered all our questions with patience - also she gave us long term treatment plans . Other staff members were also very nice and professional . I will highly recommend Dr. Taranjot Sran . She was extremely thorough and meticulous in treating my cat . We came home very happy . We especially extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Dr. Sran .

Fantastic experience: I can’t thank Dr Stanton and Dr Miller enough for saving my dog’s life. Their diagnosis and quick actions helped him overcome heart failure. They thoroughly explained what happened and gave us their best recommendations for how to proceed. I’m happy to say he’s back home with us. He’s made a remarkable recovery and I’m forever grateful for their expertise and care.

They are above in education and experience than in most places. Evaluation of our sotuation with our Shih Tzu Plum was honest, straight forward, and made sense. Dr. Kurzbard, the pet nutritionist, was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and patient. She took the time to address all of my questions and provided clear, practical advice tailored to Bohdi's needs. The entire staff was warm, friendly, and welcoming, which made the visit stress-free. Positive experience: Only gave three stars since they are nice and most likely saved my cat from FIP. However, getting a prescription updated to accommodate for my pets weight gain was the worst experience ever. I had to go back and forth with them and the pharmacy just for them to never update the script to the proper dosage or quantity to accommodate for the weight gain my pet had while on the meds. I understand their emergency services are not for long term care but why wouldn't the people who originally wrote the script be able to update it accordingly? This morning I get another email saying I will be fine with the current dosage even though we have talked multiple times about this and my cat WILL need a higher dosage and an extra 6ml of medication which our current script does not cover.

Fantastic experience: I took my dog to Blue Pearl for a consultation with Dr. Gassel, orthoepedic surgeon about a patellular luxation . He explained the condition thoroughly and articulated treatment options. Dr. GasseI is very professional and answered all of my questions and concerns. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs his expertise!

Fantastic experience: Last night, my husband and I brought our dog, Lady, here. From the moment we arrived, the entire team was beyond kind—not only to us, but most importantly to Lady. Fantastic experience: I brought my Dog Chloe to Dr Rossi and I had a very very good experience . Highly Reccommend her and her Vet tech Carolina Perez was so caring and helpful !!! Highly Recommend this place!

Negative experience: I came in because my dog was walking weird abd with his head turned to the left. They scared me to death telling me he might have a brain tumor and that I shoukd get an MRI that would cost almost $7,000. Then talked me into a neurological exam and realized it was only a soft tissue neck injury. They tried to still scare me into an MRI. I said no. Then they charged me over $700 for pain medication. Most stressful, scary and pricy 3 hours of my life.

Fantastic experience: Dr Michelle Seers was a patient and helpful vet. A stinger couldn’t be found and she wanted to xray his knee because she thought it may not have been a sting. I refused the sedation and xray for follow up at my pup’s regular vet. Benadryl and gabapentin helped calm him and address his pain and this morning he appears pretty normal. Dr Seers explained matters clearly.

Fantastic experience: We could not have had a better experience than we did with BluePearl. Our 13 year old dog was having issues with a perianal mass and we brought him here on recommendation after a terrible encounter at a different ER where the doctor implied our only option was euthanasia. Not only did Dr. Shrock take her time and patiently outline and go through every last detail, she also apologized deeply for the experience we had at this other place. Our baby boy Zackie was taken care of so well at every last step of his surgery. He's currently in the healing process and resting at home, but we are so thankful for everyone at BluePearl for not only taking such good care of our boy, but also withstanding my incessant calls with questions pertaining to him that I have made. Thank you everyone for your hard work and compassion. The team had worked hard to make it as affordable as possible, even providing us information on loans and the BluePearl HOPE funds program.

Fantastic experience: My dog twist somehow injured his back and ruptured a disc and had to have emergency surgery due to the fact that he was slowly going lame by the time I got him to the vet he was completely paralyzed on his left side and losing movement on his right, they quickly done an MRI and decided that surgery was needed as soon as possible for 93 return to normal. I was scared I’ve never had anything major like this happen to any of my dogs. A friend told me to go out to BluePearl because they had a Neurologist on staff so I drove the hour out to BluePearl and was totally shocked on how they behaved. I thought that they cared for my dog as if he was their very own. Treated him with respect and dignity and treated me like I was a long lost friend. I felt safe insecure with my dog being there. I allow them to move forward with the surgery and was thankful for their quick action to minimize any loss or movement I could call it anytime day or night and they would connect me with either the doctor or the tech that was actually taking care of my dog. The doctor called me daily with updates spoke to me in non-veterinarian terms, which I was extremely thankful. When it came time to pick up twist, I had a friend drive me so I would be able to hold onto twist for the ride home. The discharging tech took her time and went over everything that was needed. She read through it as I watched she pointed out and highlighted things that were very important. Discussed how to make sure that his range of motion was done at least three times a day And explained how things were going to slow down. He may not use the restroom as often because he’s not moving and he’s on medication Him are not moving who is the best care that I’ve ever received at a vet veterinarian I highly recommend BluePearl for the treatment of my dog and for how they treated you

Negative experience: They were super helpful and sweet and understanding except for one tech with super short hair who had this judgmental look and smirk on her face and kept such a nasty attitude the entire time. I was already super super worried and went there for help not to be looked down on or even looked up and down and then met with a nasty smirk and made to feel like I wasn’t up to her standards I will NEVER EVER EVER go back there again but I am grateful to the wonderful doctor and other personal like the front desk ladies who were very very sweet and supportive. That other tech I wish I had her name because I’d mention it but you’ll know her when you meet her if you’re ever that unlucky she has NO business being in healthcare and has no bedside manner whatsoever I never leave reviews but felt as if this needed to be addressed I almost called the office today to report her behavior .

Fantastic experience: This place is amazing. My dog had injured his tail in the early morning hours. I contacted them and they were able to answer my questions and evaluate my dog on arrival. We did have to wait a bit after his evaluation but the front desk was so accommodating. They checked on me repeatedly and even gave us an area not occupied because i have a reactive dog. The doctors were informative and communicative. The entire process they updated me on my options, and what they felt was best. The didn’t try to pressure me to get anything I didn’t want or to pay for something expensive, which I was nervous about because other emergency vets have done this to me in the past. They patched my pup up and the price was more than fair. I’m grateful to them.

Fantastic experience: My experience here was superb. From the front desk to the techs to the doctors, everything went very well. They took care of my dog’s needs and updated me on his condition. Communication was very clear. Appreciate Dr. Kramer so much for the updates! The facility is clean and spacious. My dog was very well taken care of here during his stay! Fantastic experience: My 12 year old beagle had neck surgery here by Dr. Berry. I was very impressed with every aspect of the hospital. The staff all seemed very professional and caring, it's efficiently run, and very clean. I would not hesitate to take my pets there for specialty care.

Fantastic experience: My small dog ruptured a disc and was down in hind. BluePearl Pet Hospital was the closest (2 hours away) with an emergency neurology department. What was a geographical decision at the time became one of the best decisions for my dog’s health and recovery. BluePearl Pet Hospital and specifically the front desk staff, the surgery staff, and of course Dr. Berry, all acted in unison to provide me the confidence I needed to leave my dog in their care. He was able to walk the day after surgery and is recovering wonderfully at home now. Also, as a businessman, I appreciated the efficiency in systems, clarity in communications (especially pricing), level of compassion and overall generous spirit of caring. Do not hesitate to use BluePearl Pet Hospital for your pet’s emergency needs.

Negative experience: 2 hours to get my cat checked by a vet dr. An intern was the one who saw us and asked us the questions. Haven’t seen a doctor yet. They charge about $1000 dollars. I asked how long it takes and the reception desk (skinny dark haired girl ) didn’t answer me and closed the door in my face. Disgusting arrogance.

Fantastic experience: Outstanding service and care for my pup when we visited the Irvine location this week. Came in through emergency as my boy was panting and shaking. I was very worried. From my first phone call it was amazing service. I let them know I was coming in and while enroute they called my regular vet and got all his records so they could better direct care. When we arrived they were so kind and caring. The ER vet was amazing, so caring in wanting to care for my guy and figure out what was going on. We were there most of the day, but when we left they had run tests and correctly diagnosed what was going on and sent us home with a plan and my pup was no longer panting and shaking. Fast forward to four days later and my boy is getting better and better. Highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Blue Pearl saved my yellow lab Rosie with an emergency splenectomy by surgeon Dr Glassel. I am forever grateful for the extra years this life saving surgery has given Rosie. Most dogs whose spleens burst aren’t as lucky, but the doctors at Blue Pearl are all specialists in their fields. We see the amazing Dr Rossi for her Internal Medicine follow up care. The veterinarians are excellent and the admission process is quick and easy.The costs are expensive but the excellent care your pet receives is worth it. They offer financing and have a charity to help those who can’t afford to pay. I hope you never have to put your pet down because you can’t afford the cost of care. This is not the place for routine care, but if your pet experiences an emergency or has an illness that cannot be resolved, this is the absolute best clinic. I’ve been to both Emergency vets in the area and definitely recommend Blue Pearl .

Fantastic experience: I took my dog here to be cremated and they were extremely professional and caring for us. All of the additions were very nice and I would recommend this place to my friends and family if they required the same service. It was nice to have the employees being patient and kind while I was very emotional, but they seemed to really care.

Fantastic experience: I brought my dog in via emergency department. The staff checked us in upon completion of paperwork. Receptionist/front office staff were very nice and helpful during our check in. The vet tech came out assessed my dog and took him to the hospital area. It took about an hour or just a bit more before I was taken to a room. Dr. Kim came in the room shortly thereafter. Dr Kim took a detailed history. Explained next step to provide comfort and care. My dog was admitted. My dog was well cared for. There are several Vets and vet technicians. The Drs who provided immediate care, and all subsequent care kept in touch throughout his hospitalization. I appreciated the great treatment provided for my dog.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Berry did a very thorough examination of our dog and spent a great deal of time with us, putting my mind at ease about my boy and his seizure. My only wish is that they could have non slip floors for dogs with joint issues, but we made it work. Very knowledgeable doctor!

Fantastic experience: Went in midweek around 7:30/8:00 pm because our golden retriever ate a bowl full of grapes my kids left out. We called before we arrived and they answered all of our questions and directed us to come in. We have been here before for one of our cats so we kinda knew the drill. The staff was amazing once we were there and promptly saw our dog and provided the services they recommended for him. Staff was so kind and helpful. My husband expected To be there until very late but they had him out of there in less than an hour and a half. Service was great and we would absolutely take our pets back here for any emergency services. Prices were also reasonable considering it being an emergency vet.

Negative experience: I recently brought my cat to Blue Pearl Emergency Pet Hospital, and the experience left me shocked and disappointed. The prices were unbelievably high—so inflated that it felt completely unreasonable for the level of care we received. Despite all the advanced equipment, technology, and resources they claim to have, they still couldn’t determine what was wrong with my cat. After hours of waiting and thousands of dollars in charges, I walked away with no real answers and the sense that the entire visit was more about billing than helping. What makes it even worse is how dramatically these emergency pet hospitals have raised their prices in recent years. The increases feel extreme—like the costs have exploded far beyond what the average person can manage. It feels as if the price hikes are outpacing everything else, making it nearly impossible for regular pet owners to afford emergency care. These jumps, from 60% compared to just a few years ago, feel outrageous and leave people like me wondering how anyone is supposed to manage emergencies anymore. Blue Pearl may have the equipment, but based on my visit, the results don’t match the price. The whole experience felt exploitative, rushed, and financially draining, and I left with more stress and no clarity about my cat’s health. I truly hope they reconsider their pricing and the way they handle patients, because right now, it feels like the system is failing the very animals and people who need help the most.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Pettigrew and the entire neurology and front desk staff at BluePearl Irvine are the best! We took our pug in for a suspected FCE about 9 months ago and our experience was very positive, from the very beginning as we walked in, to getting his MRI, and follow up appointments weeks and months later. Our dog could not pee on his own in the first week after his FCE and the entire neurology staff was so patient in expressing his bladder and showing us how to do it. Dr Pettigrew was so patient as he walked us through what the diagnosis and prognosis are for our pug’s condition, and what to expect moving forward. He recommended an amazing rehab facility for our dog (shout out to CROC!) and advised us to take him into rehab and start PT as soon as possible. We appreciate Dr. Pettigrew’s expertise and sense of urgency and are so glad our pug was seen by him and his entire team. It was a scary time for our family but we are so grateful for Dr. Pettigrew and everyone at Blue Pearl Irvine! Thank you once again!

Fantastic experience: Our experience at Blue Pearl Irvine was exceptional. We brought our adopted 2.5 year old schnoodle in after he experienced seizures. We had made an appointment for a consult and possible MRI. We met with Dr. Berry who patiently listened to every detail of our dog’s history and new seizure activity. After he asked more questions and confirmed that he had the correct info, he took Moose to a different room to examine him. When he returned, he said that it was highly likely that Moose has idiopathic epilepsy and an MRI was likely unnecessary and too stressful for him at the time. He very thoroughly explained what he thought was going on with Moose and reviewed and adjusted his meds. He suggested a follow up in a few weeks. Two standout vet techs, Brhi and Taylor, were so knowledgeable and compassionate with him also. Brhi even sent a few helpful YouTube videos after we got home. We could not feel in better hands with Dr. Berry and his team.

Fantastic experience: Blue Pearl was recommended by my regular vet when our dog Fiona had a frightening medical emergency. She developed significant fluid buildup in her abdomen, and our regular vet discovered a heart-based mass that required immediate attention and emergency surgery. We were terrified and overwhelmed, but Dr. Katzenstein (not sure on spelling) and her team stepped in with compassion, expertise, and urgency. While there was some miscommunication regarding the cardiologist being onsite, the care Fiona received from Dr. Katzenstein and the entire staff was top tier. They kept us informed, treated Fiona with care, and acted quickly to stabilize her. I truly believe they saved her life. We are deeply appreciative of the compassion and meticulous care they gave Fiona during this incredibly difficult and stressful time. Thank you, Dr. Katzenstein and everyone at BluePearl! Words can’t express how grateful I am to still have Fiona in our lives.

Fantastic experience: Thanksgiving day 2024, my dog was released from the hospital after Dr Gassel repaired her right rear knee ligament. It’s one year later, she is 14 years old and I am thrilled and grateful that she can enjoy her walks with me. Thank you Blue Pearl doctors and team for working during the holiday.

Positive experience: Dr Zide was amazing and extremely knowledgeable. She deserves 5 stars, however the staff were not personable and could not give clear answers. I also did not like the fact that they took my dog into another room without me to examine him.

Fantastic experience: What an amazing first trip there. Unfortunately it wasn’t under good circumstances. My love just turned 11 and she can walk to well and is having convulsions. Staff was so amazing! Special shout out to Bree or Bri! They made our stay so welcoming. I forgot the Doctors name but she was so sweet and let me charge my phone there as I had a far drive to Irvine. Also the gentleman David that paid our bill thank you so much!!! So blessed. Thank you all for your love and support. Glad to see living and caring people here at our first visit there. Chloe is so thankful for being treated there.

Fantastic experience: Our first visit to Blue Pearl this morning was a fantastic experience. Usually having to take your dog to the ER on a Sunday is misery. The front desk and Dr. Brown were efficient, thorough and personable. And they didn't try to take advantage by encouraging extra services that weren't needed. I highly recommend this vet hospital.

Fantastic experience: I called first to get advice on what I thought was a tick. Krista was the nicest. I was having a hard time holding Winnie on her back and lifting up her arm and trying to evaluate what exactly it was. Krista was reassuring that the best thing to do was to come in and have it looked at if I was unsure. She asked all the right questions and was so kind. Got there and Brittany took Winnie back and quickly evaluated her. It was a scab. Naturally I felt so ridiculous and like I had just overreacted and wasted everyone’s time. Fantastic experience: Best emergency vet...skilled doctors and they are a full hospital for your fur babies. Only complaint is if your dog/cat is stable--then it takes a long time (3-4 hours waiting time). Pricing is similar to other emergency vet services.

Based on past experiences with other vets, I went in with low expectations—but from check-in to check-out, everything exceeded them. Fantastic experience: My puppy was born with a congenial heart defect. Dr Miller and the staff at Blue Pearl were amazing from start to finish. I felt like they really cared about Fiona and I knew she was in good hands. The fees were reasonable and I even got a military discount on the procedure. Most importantly they gave Fiona a chance to not only live her full life but also at her full potential.

Fantastic experience: My little 11 week old poodle started to throw up several times in a row. We were concerned that she either had an infection, possible parasites or got into something that made her sick. The staff was amazing. Immediately brought me into a room because of her age and size (3 pounds) we were worried about her. After her examination the doctor determined that she was presently stable but needed fluids and anti nausea medication at a minimum. Which we did. The next morning we went to our personal vet and got her treatment. But it was a relief to be able to go to Blue Pearl in the middle of the night to ensure she was well cared for.

The amount of time, detail, and care provided for my pet, Biscuit, made me feel confident in the procedure and also like they genuinely cared for Biscuits health as well. Fantastic experience: We are very happy with Blue Pearl Pet Hospital. The staff was professional and kind, from the time I called to make our first appt. to the day we took our dog home after surgery. Our vet, Dr. Gassel, took the time to discuss options and possible outcomes when we had to make a decision on surgery for our dog. We had to travel out of town to take our dog to Blue Pearl for surgery but we feel it was well worth it.

Fantastic experience: Dwight was sneezing from inhaling a foxtail like thing (purple fountain bush thorn) into his nose, and we knew it’s imperative to get it removed. We were greeted warmly by Jess at the front, and the tech was so kind and interested. The doctor removed the offending thorn and we were on our way, for the reasonable fee of emergency visit. Dwight returned to his happy, sneeze free self! We have come to Blue Pearl for years and recommend over other emergency and specialty veterinary hospitals.

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough wonderful things about Blue Pearl Pet Hospital! My 5-year-old terrier suddenly lost the ability to walk, and the team here gave her a second chance at life. Dr. Pettigrew performed back surgery with the utmost professionalism and care, and thanks to him, along with the amazing nurses and administrative staff, my little one is now walking again and doing incredibly well at her second check-up. Everyone I encountered was compassionate, attentive, and supportive through the entire process. They treated my pup as if she were their own. Negative experience: Our precious pet was in need of help and a diagnosis. Not only was a bullied but they offered nothing for our pet. Was told that it would be close to 10k with and admission. The female vet was so mean to me I still have anxiety from visiting this "place of care". Our baby died as we were moved on from place to place seeking answers. Due to this experience we most likely will never have another pet. I had no idea, I thought they cared but is does seem it is financially motivated.

Fantastic experience: When my dog Walter's regular vet found a huge mass on his spleen, he told me there was nothing he could do for him and that Walter needed to see a specialist if I was going to save him. The vet recommended Blue Pearl and we got an appointment a couple days later. It was such a scary time because I was not prepared to lose another dog so soon after my Lab was taken from me by cancer a couple months prior. Dr. Shrock and the entire team at Blue Pearl were extremely compassionate and helpful. The situation was explained me in detail and every question I asked was answered throughly with patience and understanding for what I was going through. There was no sugar coating or false hope, just the reality of his condition and the desire to help my boy the best they could. Dr. Shrock removed Walter's spleen and gave us more time together, which is the greatest gift I could ever receive. An oncologist I took him to even commented on how well Dr. Shrock had done based on the incision. I highly recommend this hospital.

Fantastic experience: I have taken my dog to Blue Pearl on more than one occasion for emergency visits when the vet is closed. They have always been very nice, helpful, considerate and compassionate. I can't say enough good things about the doctors and staff there.

Fantastic experience: We took our 14.5-year-old dog here when he started experiencing collapsing episodes and needed to be evaluated by a cardiologist immediately. The staff was so helpful and kind, we were triaged quickly, and they were able to start running all the necessary tests to figure out what was wrong with our boy. Dr. Kim was excellent. She was empathetic and patient, explaining everything to us, including all the options we had for his care and the benefits/risks associated with each one. Due to all the issues our little guy was dealing with and the limited options for treatment, we ultimately made the difficult decision to let him cross the rainbow bridge. Blue Pearl has a private room for this, and Dr. Kim and the staff allowed us as much time as we needed to say our goodbyes and hold him as he took his last breaths. Saying goodbye to a pet is never easy, and it's even more difficult when you have to make that decision. I am very thankful for everyone at Blue Pearl for their kindness and empathy during this tough time.

Fantastic experience: Had to bring our dog in for an emergency visit on a Holiday. We started at a different emergency office, but after waiting for 6 hours, with an ETA that kept getting pushed back, we scooped our boy up and headed to Blue Pearl. Any place can get overwhelmed on a Holiday, however I wish we would have started here regardless. Staff was great to work with, kept us well informed, and the Vet and tech team took excellent care of our boy. They made a stressful situation a little easier and for that we are grateful.

Fantastic experience: The team at BluePearl Pet Hospital is outstanding. Every member of their staff loves and cares for these animals as if they were their own. My husband and I have been continually blown away with their experience and compassion. Our 12 year old French bulldog, Charlie had life saving back surgery, performed by Dr. Barry, when he was 2 1/2. A decade later we have found ourselves back in their care as they carefully navigate Charlie’s spleenectomy. The vet was very thorough in evaluating our dog's issue, listening to what we had to say about medical history and current issue. We were kept informed along the way with progress reports. Fantastic experience: I brought in my elderly dog with diarrhea and vomiting. Dr. Mullen did a great job diagnosing and treating him. The techs were very informative also.

Negative experience: Dr. Molly Mettler took care of dog and she was kind and attentive, I would give her 5 stars. My low stars are because of the tech who helped us and for the facilities lack of communication. I took my dog to our primary vet because his stomach seemed to be getting larger, come to find out he had fluid accumulating in his abdominal cavity and was diagnosed with CHF. Chest X-rays were done and it was recommended that I take my dog to the ER to see a cardiologist immediately. My primary vet called quite a few ERs to verify if a cardiologist would be onsite, Blue Pearl was the only one that said yes, come now. I drove all the way from Downey to Irvine so my dog could be seen, an hour into being seen, were told the cardiologist left for the day and if we wanted him or her to come back to consult with our dog, it would be $1700. That is insane. I expressed my disappointment to Dr. mettler and she apologized, but couldn't offer anything else. I asked when the cardiologist would be back and was told by the tech they would come the next day but it wouldn't be guaranteed we would be seen (because I decided to take my dog home). I let her know how upset I was about the situation and she told me that my dog was in serious condition and could die (with an attitude). That upset me and I told her not to say that to me. I am a nurse and I could and never would say that to a distressed patients family member. The bedside manner is terrible, I didn't get her name but she was wearing black scrubs that said neurology on it. Ultimately, the Dr ended up removing the fluids from my dog and I took him home. My dog was comfortable and stable enough to come home with me. The next day we took him to EchoVet and they were sooo much more nicer and attentive there. The older tech who assisted us definitely needs to learn some empathy and could benefit from re-education on bedside manner. BluePearl, it's tragic that you would tell my primary provider that a cardiologist would be on site to assess my dog. My primary let you know I was on the way and then the cardiologist went home and you tried to squeeze $1700 out of me for the Dr to come back. I know everything is about business and money, but shame on this facility.

Negative experience: My dog had caught an infection and I was told to go here. I was not aware that they will nickel and dime you the whole time. Of course as a pet parent, you want to do everything to save your pet, but I highly encourage you to shop around for the services that you need. I don’t remember the young lady that worked the front desk at night. She was completely Amazing.

Fantastic experience: Our French Bulldog Beauregard injured his back and his back legs were paralyzed. Dr Berry performed back surgery on Beau and he started to walk in a few days. We were able to bring Beauregard home shortly thereafter and he has progressed very well. Took him back for a checkup, and Dr Berry was pleased with his progress. We will take him back in 5 weeks, hopefully for his final back surgery checkup. Blue Pearl staff have been excellent

Fantastic experience: Dr. Berry is the absolute best Veterinarian Neurologist. He is informed, spends time to Listen, takes the time to explain what the prognosis may be, and what to expect. He’s genuine and caring about pets. He calls personally, after procedures to explain how it went and what to expect post procedure. He is a class act, and a wonderful Vet.

Positive experience: Their staff is very friendly, very knowledgeable. The offices are very clean. Though unfortunately, I gave them a three star rating because they are extremely overpriced for simple procedures. My Doberman needed an MRI and I was being charged $7600 for just a scan. I found another clinic down the street that offered me the same service and care for $3k out the door.

Fantastic experience: I've taken my kitties here multiple times for emergencies, always compassionate and very thorough. Dr Doane was fantastic with me and my fur baby. Recently have had to use cardiology services and that team is amazing, highly recommend Dr Miller, cardiologist and this hospital expecially for emergency and speciality services.
