Fantastic experience: Highly recommended, we took our 10 year old doberman for GDV surgery and our dog Fito spent 3 days at this place. We visited several times per day, the staff was always very professional and empathetic, they always have a Doctor available to answer questions, the facilities are well designed and maintained and they really care about the details. After 3 days Fito moved to his new place beyond the stars but i know we tried and he had the best attention at EPIC Vets.
Thank you for your thoughtful review, Ray. We are truly sorry for your loss. It means a great deal to know that Fito received attentive care and that our team was able to support you during such a difficult time. Thank you for trusting us with his care and for sharing his story with us.
Negative experience: Way over priced to be honest for emergency care not only that wasn’t given many options for treatment even though I expressed finances were a concern, way over priced for overnight care and oxygen.
Fantastic experience: Such a great staff to help with a scary situation. From the person who answered the phone, the vet techs and doctor. Creatively finding ways to help keep the cost down while taking care of my furry girl. Highly recommend if you need someone to help in the middle of the night.
Thank you for your thoughtful review. We know how overwhelming late night emergencies can feel, and we are glad our team was able to be there for you and your girl when you needed it most.
We truly appreciate your recommendation and are grateful you trusted us during such a stressful moment.
Fantastic experience: My lil guy Jax a 11lb Morkie was bite by a large dog in the stomach. They took care of him. The office is very nice, clean the staff are courteousl and helpful. The surgery went well and Jax is doing good ar this time. The price was well worth it. Thank you to Epic for saving by baby.
We’re so glad you brought Jax to us when he needed urgent care. We know how frightening an injury like that can be, and it means a lot that you trusted our team to help him through it.
Hearing that he is recovering well and back by your side is the best update we could ask for. Thank you for your kind words and for allowing us to care for your sweet boy.
Fantastic experience: I brought my dog Rio in this morning and from the minute, I walked in till I picked him up at the end of the day service was five stars. The doctor talked to me in detail and called me after the procedure and was very professional. The staff at the front desk could not have been more inviting during our stressful time. I can’t recommend these people enough if you are in a bind and need emergency care this should be your first stop.
Thank you for your thoughtful review and for trusting Epic Vets with Rio’s care. We know how stressful emergency visits can be, and we are glad our team was able to provide clear communication, professionalism, and a welcoming experience from start to finish.
Your recommendation truly means a lot to us. We hope Rio is doing well and appreciate you allowing us to be there when he needed care.
Fantastic experience: We took our little toby to emergency because he was throwing up and having diarrhea, he was treated very well and we were really happy with Doctor Owen and the staff ! thank You !!!
Thank you for your kind words and for trusting Epic Vets with Toby’s care. We know how stressful it can be when your pet isn’t feeling well, and we are glad Dr. Owen and our team were able to provide the support and treatment he needed.
We hope Toby is feeling much better and appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.
Fantastic experience: My nine-month-old puppy, Sage, ingested a bottle of Tylenol, so I took her to EPIC after consulting with ASPCA Poison Control. She was treated and kept overnight for observation. The veterinarian provided me with updates the following day, and I was able to bring her home that evening with a clean bill of health. The staff at EPIC was exceptional—professional, friendly, and reassuring. Sage was very happy when I picked her up, which clearly indicated that she was well cared for during her stay. Highly recommended and I will be here again.
Thank you for sharing your experience and for trusting Epic Vets with Sage’s care. We know how frightening situations like that can be, and we are so glad she received the treatment she needed and was able to go home healthy.
It means a great deal to hear that our team kept you informed and helped you feel reassured throughout her stay. Please give Sage some extra love from all of us. We appreciate your recommendation and are always here if you need us.
Fantastic experience: There is not enought stars except in the sky, for the team at EPIC Vet. My goldendoodle became sick suddenly at 1000pm yesterday. Vomiting and not being able to walk. Thank you for being there afters hours for our furry family members. Everyone was so kind and worked hard on resolving Skippers issues. Skipper was coming around on his own. But need some help. They believe it was a mini stroke. Blood work came out great. He was able to come home with us that night. Skipper was able to walk to the car. He is doing ok today walking but resting. Again my heartfelt thank you everyone for last night. Kathy Louie Murphy & Skipper
Thank you so much for your heartfelt message. We are so glad you brought Skipper in and that he was able to return home with you that night. Sudden situations like that can be incredibly frightening, and we are grateful you trusted our team to care for him.
It means a great deal to hear that you felt supported and cared for throughout your visit. We are thinking of Skipper and hope he continues to rest and recover well. Please give him some gentle love from all of us at Epic Vets.
Fantastic experience: Received great care for our puppy from Epic. It was an emergency visit at 11:00pm and even though they were busy, it never felt like they were too busy for us, staff was great the whole time and they answered all of our questions we had. It’s great to have an emergency vet nearby
Thank you for your kind words and for trusting Epic Vets with your puppy’s care. We know emergency visits can be stressful, especially late at night, and we are glad our team was able to be there for you and answer all of your questions.
It means a lot to hear that you felt supported, even during a busy evening. We are grateful to be here for our community whenever care is needed.
Fantastic experience: I can't say enough about epic vets! I had to put my 17 yr old chi down, I had never been to epic vets, but I had read the reviews, and decided to go there. The people were all so very kind and patient ✨️ I was broken hearted saying goodbye to my baby boy, he was my precious! The concern and thoughtfulness was amazing..BIG THANKS TO ALL OF THE LOVELY PEOPLE WHO WERE THERE AND HELPED US THROUGH THIS! I Just received his ashes today, they sent me a beautiful sympathy card.. (all signed it,) ..(thank you so much) a lovely little container, , his paw print, they hand delivered his remains with love ❤️ I will recommend epic pets to everyone..thanks again!
Thank you so much for your kind words and for trusting Epic Vets during such a heartbreaking time. We are truly sorry for the loss of your precious boy. Saying goodbye to a beloved companion is never easy, and we are honored to have been able to support you with care, patience, and compassion.
It means a great deal to know the small touches and follow up brought you comfort. Please know you are in our thoughts, and we are grateful you shared your sweet pup with us.
Fantastic experience: Our beloved Zeke required immediate care on the evening of January 27, 2026. Epic Vets was the number one choice. From the initial call, to having to face a heartbreaking reality the evening of January 28, every staff member was the most supportive, caring, compassionate medical team. From the initial Dr. Owen's, to the most compassionate, clear, and fighter for our Zeke, Dr. Stenseng , and every vet tech . Every step was made with such support and care. I highly recommend Epic Vet. Sadly our precious Zeke is no longer with us on earth, but he will live in our hearts an eternity. Epic Vet fought, as did Zeke every step of the way. Once again, I highly recommend.
Thank you so much for your kind and heartfelt words. We are deeply sorry for the loss of your beloved Zeke.
It means a great deal to our entire team that you trusted Epic Vets during such a difficult time. Dr. Owen, Dr. Stenseng, and our staff are honored to have cared for Zeke and to have been by your side through every step.
Please know we are thinking of you and your family. Zeke will always be remembered, and we are grateful you shared him with us.
Negative experience: I brought my chihuahua who was just diagnosed with IVDD. There were only two people ahead of us but the wait was so long. When we were finally seen felt like they were trying to upsell us. They were suggesting to keep her there for a couple of days and give her fluids. Our actual vet who we saw the next day was confused why that was suggested. That is not why I am giving this place 2 stars. The emergency vet said if my chihuahua’s condition worsens to call back. A few days later it looked like it was. It’s a neuro condition and very few emergency vets are equipped to handle it. I called the office asking if they handle it. The office staff was very dismissive. They had no idea if they do and told me to just come in and see. They had 9 people ahead which would have taken hours before they would see us and we would be losing that time. I asked to please check with the vet. Finally the girl agreed to give the message to the vet but said vet is busy and she has no idea when she will call back. I reiterated that it’s an emergency. But nobody cared. I also NEVER received a call back. I called 8 other emergency vets who my chihuahua never seen and their office staff was compassionate and either was able to offer answers or put me on the phone with their vet directly. It’s amazing how much more caring other emergency vets were. This is not a place I will bring my dogs to again.
Negative experience: They were cool was giving paper with other vet offices i could try or I could wait a couple of hours and check there availability. They were busy, what can you do I guess.
Negative experience: Epic is basically an urgent care. If you need an emergency hospital for your pet, go to VCA. My dog had a UTI that she had been seen for on Friday. I brought her to Epic on Sunday because she seemed to be getting worse. I supplied them with notes from our regular vet, yet they did Nothing for her, at least they never mentioned anything other then the examination. I had to prompt the vet for any suggestions. I was given a refill of antibiotic and nausea meds, that was it! She should have at least been put on an IV and given antibiotics. After a $350 vet bill. Turned out that she had became septic. Two days later, she died!
Carrie- we are very sorry hear about this. It is very unusual to have a UTI become septic especially while being on antibiotics. If we had felt there was need for more care or diagnostics based on our findings and the history provided we most certainly would have offered more. It is very hard to say what happened based on your review but we would be happy to discuss this with you and your vet. Our heart goes out to you.
We are an emergency and critical care hospital that is privately owned by a critical care specialist. We think that the VCA corporation also does a good job for both urgent and emergency care at the Murrieta location. So our community is blessed to have great care so accessible.
Fantastic experience: The staff at EPIC are phenomenal. They have always been professional and caring to my pets and me. I whole-heartedly trust them with all my animals.
Fantastic experience: I had to bring my 11yo dog in after he was mauled. It was a terrible situation, but the staff and doctor at EPIC were amazing. I wish Dr Bryden could be my everyday vet! She was the perfect blend of matter-of-fact & compassionate. Tracy at the front desk was amazing, too- efficient, caring, and personable. The pricing was very reasonable, especially for Temecula. I'm hopeful for a good outcome for my doggo, but either way, I'm grateful for everything the staff at EPIC did to help him. ❤️
Positive experience: This is a wonderful service when your pet is in need of emergency care when your regular vet is not available. Like a human ER the most life threatening are taken 1st. My dog was throwing up blood. 7 hours later they still had not taken the X-ray. They did comp me a night stay so I could go home. They did take good care of him. They really need more help.
Fantastic experience: Excellent service. Got my dog in immediately and remedied the situation by inducing vomiting.
Fantastic experience: Our corgi puppy had to spend one night here after surgery. From the minute, we walked in and when we picked her up, it was a wonderful, compassionate, caring experience. Dr. Owens was wonderful and explained everything. The staff are well qualified and so nice. They told us that we could call anytime and check how our baby girl was doing. When I did, they reassured me that she was doing well. I highly recommend this place.
Fantastic experience: I cannot thank Epic Vet Care enough for the compassion they showed my family during one of the hardest moments of our lives. When I first called, my handsome Duke had just passed, and I was completely devastated my emotions were all over the place. I spoke with Emily, and from the very first moment, she was beyond kind, patient, and understanding. She gently walked me through what needed to be done when I could barely think straight. We arrived with Duke around 2:30 a.m., the entire family together. The staff helped us take him out of the truck and provided us with a private room so my children could say their goodbyes. During such a painful and emotional time, Emily made us feel welcomed, supported, and never rushed. Her empathy and warmth meant more than words can express. When our world felt like it was falling apart, Emily helped us navigate through the chaos with grace and compassion. What she did for us meant everything, and we will forever be grateful. Thank you for treating Duke and our family with such dignity and care.
Negative experience: I brought my GSD in on 11/2/25 for a toe nail Fx. They did not tell me on the phone that they were at a new location. I had to help my 90 pound dog out of the car with non stop bleeding only to get to the clinic door and have no one answer. I get my dog back in the car and call and that's when I was told that they had moved further up the street. When I arrived at the correct location the front office staff was friendly and that was the only positive experience. When the vet did the exam he explained to me what the procedure would entail. I told him that she had surgery in June for a growth on her leg and they had clipped her toenails then. I also mentioned because of that surgery, I already had a protective collar and wouldn't need one. He mentioned "when we sedate her" and I asked why she needed to be sedated and he said because I mentioned her nails being clipped while under sedation. I once again said she was already going to be under because of her surgery. He explained that they would use light sedation b/c this type of procedure required it, but again he did say "light" sedation. After over 4 hrs and seeing 4 dogs come in after me and leave before me, I finally asked why it was taking so long and how come dogs came after and left before. She explained to me because my dog was having a procedure and the other dogs weren't but yet they were still being examined by the vet?! Finally they came out with my dog who was completely out of it. I practically dragged her out to the parking lot only to not be able to get her in the car because she was so drugged. At this point I had to drag her back in to ask for help. Having her walking across the parking lot three times, needless to say a bandage that was supposed to stay clean was filthy! It was also very apparent that the vet tech that came out to help me was not happy about it all. They also had a protective cone on her even though I said I didn't need it. At this point I didn't care because I was going to be at least 5 hours late for work and wouldn't have time to put the one I already had on her. Getting her out of the car when I got home was another challenge because of the heavy sedation but I managed. As I said earlier she had surgery in June and was not even remotely close to being sedated like that. When I got home from work on day two post procedure. I walked into a completely different dog! She was so stressed out, was pacing, highly agitated and it was as if doggy dementia set in. I thought maybe she was agitated because of the protective collar although she didn't act like that in June. When I got home on day three she was still the same and I could not get her to settle down. I also noticed a very foul odor coming from her face area. I stuck my hands under her face to try and figure it out and it was sopping wet. I took the protective collar off only to find a huge laceration where the collar was cutting into her neck. I should have taken a picture of that! She had instant relief when I took the collar off. Clearly they placed a collar on her that was too small as the picture shows. The collar on the right was from her surgery in June. The one on the left is the one Epic put on her. You can also see just how dirty the bandage got from her multiple trips across the parking lot. Which brings me to my last complaint. When I went to change her bandage, they had actually placed the adhesive tape over her fur instead of around the coban. If you increase the picture you can see this and you can see its wrapped around multiple times. Needless to say it was very difficult to get off of her, only to find two more pieces of adhesive tape placed vertically down her paw, under the coban and gauze. I am in healthcare and I have never seen adhesive placed directly over hair. Her dressing was nothing like this from her regular vet when she had her surgery in June. I am extremely dissatisfied with Epic. My dog was put through a horrible experience all because of improper care that could have been avoided. Please for all pets out there do better!! This is unacceptable!
Negative experience: Stay away from this place. The information given over the phone was incorrect, and staff later denied it in person. Patients are not seen between 7–8 a.m. due to a shift change, and even after that, rounds and incoming emergencies repeatedly push appointments back. The front desk staff appeared disengaged, and Tracy provided inaccurate information over the phone, then contradicted it later. Overall, there is zero efficiency and a serious lack of competency
Lauren- thank you for the feedback. We will review your phone conversation and have a discussion with our staff jf necessary. We however do not take appointments. We are open 24 hours 7 days a week. Patients are seen in order of priority as all emergency hospitals do. So a patient coming in for a urinary tract infection is likely not going to be seen before a pet that was hit by a car. You are certainly welcome to come volunteer for a shift and if you still feel we are inefficient you could give us positive feedback on how to correct it. Thank you again for taking time to help us improve.
Fantastic experience: My senior dog was not doing well and I was frantically calling all vets around until I found EPIC vet. From the moment they answered the phone to our final goodbye with Max, they were nothing short of amazing. They were so compassionate and understanding in such a hard time for our family. They let us take as much time as we needed and even waited for my husband to get off work to be there with me. They helped our boy Max cross the rainbow bridge peacefully and comforted us in a devasting situation. I am forever grateful for them and we take peace in knowing Max is no longer in pain.
Fantastic experience: It is always a scary experience to need an emergency pet visit. We called EPIC on a Friday night when our pup became suddenly very lethargic. Every staff member, from the receptionist to the tech, to the vet was kind, showed compassion and concern, and behaved very professionally. This was our first visit to EPIC but not to an emergency clinic (a previous dog was injured when another dog attacked him). The EPIC visit was exceptional in comparison.
Positive experience: It would have been nice if they would have cared more about my dog, they would not help her cut leg to stop the bleeding unless they were paid if full, they said we’ll just take her home with her bleeding all over the floor
Fantastic experience: I had to bring my cat in because she was not urinating which for a cat is an emergency. They discovered that she had a bladder infection. They gave me the proper medications and she is back to her happy self. Everyone I interacted with was very courteous, compassionate and professional which is hard to find these days. I highly recommend them.
Fantastic experience: EPIC VETS provided outstanding care to our kitten during an emergency. They were kind, caring, professional and prompt as well as providing excellent service. We are very thankful for them!!!
Thank you. We do hope that your kitten is feeling better!
Negative experience: Over priced and bashes your primary vet. They wanted 16 grand for my dog’s procedure and after care . I was afraid I had to put my dog down but after what the epic vet quoted but my primary vet they said they way over priced me for my dog care and I only had to pay 3 grand for both surgery and after care. Plus get a second opinion because they will lie and not care about your dog’s health. Someone said they were reasonable in price and will work with you but they lied. Get second opinions and don’t even bother until you talk to your primary. Plus the vet on staff disregarded all my vets notes and dogs blood work I already paid for and try to add them on but my vet told me to tell them I had all my labs and X-rays waiting for results. She didn’t take the time to see what my vets requested to be done to my dog because my vet didnt have IV or over night care but was total in control of my dogs health .
Unfortunately, we can not find you in our system under this name. We can properly review your case if you wish to call in and provide us with more information.
Fantastic experience: Best place I went for my pet. They’re doing great now. Thanks to the staff and Doctor Bryden for checking their status.
Negative experience: This is the second time I came here the first my cat had passed away. And the second time I brought my cat in to the urgent care $160 And it makes me upset the front staff ladies Were very rude not professional every time I asked questions they got offended I just merged to know what the status was on getting my meds getting out and they still refused to bring My cat out I don’t recommend this place at all. $279 later and the only nice people here are the 2 Dr. i seen here please go else too expensive And rude treatment they should understand that we are contributing to their salary very poor customer service.
Fantastic experience: I took my new puppy here expecting bad news and the Drs and staff were so reassuring and supportive. I love that I could get a hold of them at anytime of the day on top of their regular updates and I was able to get my puppy home to recover.
Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re so glad we could provide reassurance and support during your puppy’s visit. Our team is always here to answer questions and provide updates, and we’re thrilled your pup was able to go home and recover comfortably.
Fantastic experience: Clean office, friendly staff, my pup was well taken care of. It’s walk in only and I came on a very busy day so I had to wait about 2 hours before my dog was seen but that’s also because her condition stabilized by the time we came in, and of course the emergency vet is going to prioritize more urgent cases. Overall recommend.
Thank you for your thoughtful review! We’re glad to hear your pup was well cared for and that our staff made you feel welcome. We appreciate your understanding about wait times, and we’re grateful for your patience!
Fantastic experience: I have not had to bring my dogs here, however the ladies at the front desk went far above and beyond by helping me scan two lost dogs for microchips at 11pm. They attempted to contact the company and when they weren't getting an answer, they continued to try even after I left the vet. They followed up with me once they were able to get the owner's contact info. All three ladies working at the front desk were professional, kind, and literally went out of their way to help someone who wasn't even a customer. I imagine that these are exactly the type of people you'd love to have on your side if you had to bring your pet to an emergency vet.
Hi Candace! Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re thrilled to hear our front desk team could help with the lost dogs, even outside of normal hours.
Going above and beyond for pets and their people is exactly what we strive for, and your kind words mean a lot to the entire team. We’re grateful for your recognition and for trusting EPIC Vets to care for our community.
Fantastic experience: Thank you so much for all of you ❤️ You did a great job.will recommend to friends and family
Hi Jennifer,
Thank you so much for your kind words! ❤️ We’re thrilled to hear you had a great experience with our team.
Fantastic experience: Intake staff was great, clinic was spotless, vet was great. Long wait on weekend, i would have appreciated different videos in waiting room, maybe nature or a movie like Lion King or just elevator music.
Fantastic experience: A Heartfelt Thank You to Epic Vets Hospital On November 5, 2025, our world shifted. It became one of the hardest nights we’ve had to live through, a night that now sits beside the deepest losses our family has known. We were eating dinner when our sweet 11 year old Maddie suddenly went into what looked like a seizure or a stroke. Her little body went stiff, her eyes began bouncing, her tongue and face tightened, and she lost control of her bladder. In that moment, fear took over. We rushed her to the emergency vet praying for a miracle. For about twenty minutes she seemed to be doing better and we had hope. But once she was taken to the back, everything changed. Your team quietly entered the room and asked us to step into a private space. That’s when we heard the words no pet parent ever wants to hear: “Maddie didn’t make it.” Our hearts broke in ways we never could have prepared for. Maddie wasn’t just a dog she was our first and only family dog, our third child, the one who taught our kids about unconditional love. She had been with us since she was a tiny puppy and lived every chapter of our lives right beside us. Losing her feels like losing a piece of our home. Through all of this heartbreak, your compassion mattered more than you may ever know. The kindness, tenderness, and respect you showed Maddie and us during the most terrifying and painful moments of our lives will stay with our family forever. You didn’t treat her like “just another case.” You treated her like a beloved soul. And you treated us like grieving parents, not clients. From the gentle way you spoke to us, to the care you gave Maddie in her final moments, to the softness in your voices when delivering the news. Thank you for trying. Thank you for acting quickly. Thank you for treating Maddie with dignity. Thank you for treating us with patience and compassion. Thank you for sitting with us in our grief, even for a moment. We are devastated and our home feels impossibly quiet now. The absence of her little face, her joy, her warmth is a hole we don’t know how to fill. But knowing she was in caring hands brings us a small measure of peace. We wanted to take a moment to offer our deepest gratitude to the team at Epic Veterinary Hospital for your support during the most devastating night of our lives. Thank you for helping us through the hardest goodbye we’ve ever had to say. With heartfelt appreciation, The Weaver Family ❤️
Fantastic experience: So grateful for the kind staff who helped me with an emergency refill of my epileptic dog's medication. It was a Sunday morning and our regular vet was closed, and our pharmacy was closed, and we made a mistake calculating how much medication we had left. We weren't going to have enough and running out highly escalated his risk of going into potentially deadly cluster seizures. They had the medication we needed on hand, and were so accommodating with how much we needed. They were patient and kind with problems I had with my credit card. They were respectful and kind in greeting and assisting at the reception desk. And the veterinarian and tech staff were genuinely kind, caring, and helpful. And thank you for all the wonderful things you do in what I can only imagine is a high-stress environment. You are all so very much appreciated! Love and Gratitude, Tyr, Kathryn Miller and the Miller family!
Negative experience: I had a very bad experience. They miscalculated the antibiotic dosage for my dog, which caused her wound to get infected and led to a second surgery. After everything she went through, they still refused to check her kidney unless I paid for the test, even though their mistake caused all these complications. This level of negligence and lack of accountability is unacceptable. I would never recommend this place to anyone who truly cares about their pet’s well-being.
We are glad that Luna is doing well. Luna came to us for wounds on her neck that happened when she got out of the yard. We repaired these wounds for Luna. She was sent home with the appropriate dose of antibiotics. She was also sent home with the recommendation to keep the cone on so she couldn't scratch open her repair. She showed up several days later with the wound partially opened. This is from her scratching it open. We repaired it again. She was back today and it was fully healed and we removed the sutures. The wound never got infected. We recommend you have a discussion with your vet and if they feel we did anything wrong we will gladly make it right.
Positive experience: Front desk great service and instructions. I did not care for the veterinarians bedside manner. Dr Saaiman came in to give me the run down of what was going on with my cat and sat as far away as he could in the room and folded his arms across his chest and explained that my cat did not have a blocked bladder after which I was relieved and he basically said it was behavioral and that they are an emergency vet and didn’t treat that?!? I never asked him to solve a behavioral issue. I just wanted to make sure my cat was okay and didn’t have an infection or blockage. He acted like what do you want from me and I was just in there to listen to what he might think is going on. He was rude and uncaring. In the end he did his job but when your paying a lot of money you’d at least hope you’d get some care and concern.
Negative experience: I waited for over 2 hours and was told my pet was next, but when I went to check again, they said it would be another 2–3 hours. Completely unorganized and unprofessional. The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced at a vet clinic — definitely not what you expect from a “24-hour” emergency clinic.
Please understand we are an emergency hospital. We have no control over what comes in and we take the most serious cases first. We prioritize health and medicine and sometimes that can extend a wait for less serious medical issues.
Negative experience: DO NOTTTTTT BRING YOUR ANIMAL HERE!!!!!!!!! if you want your animal to survive, DO NOT bring them here. Immediately after taking in my animal I was told “we can only save him depending on how much you want to pay” and immediately started throwing very high numbers at us instead of telling us what we needed to do to save him. After realizing how they are just money hungry we decided to take him to another vet, which resulted in this place CALLING ANIMAL CONTROL and reporting us for abusing our animal who we just wanted to save. If we kept him there he would’ve died. In early 2000s we also brought our dog here who they immediately just decided to euthanize. They just want your money, don’t go here, there’s way more affordable options to save your animal.
Fantastic experience: I came in there October 10th with my 14 year old blind diabetic min pin, LOLA. She was diagnosed in 2021, 2month after losing my sister and the same week while away out of state, my shihtzu suddenly got sick and died. when I took LOla to be diagnosed, I was told her life expectancy was around 2 years. I thankfully had her 3 and1/2 years. But she had ups and downs over the years, but on Oct 8th she stopped eating. I thought she would recover in 2 days like many times before. But the 2nd day she got so sick so fast, ketoacidosis. So i took her to Temecula ER,By the time I drove there, 45 minutes away. She got significantly worse. I went to the front desk, they got her in immediatly. I knew it was time when I checked her in, I was crying. The front desk lady was so nice, the vet tech took me to a back room right away. I told them if shes too sick I was ready to let her go. Then another gal, maybe a vet assistant came in an calmly gave me options for her final moments. Then the vet came in we discussed everything, i was crying the whole time. The staff was so gentle and kind to me and Lola. They brought her to me in a blanket and an IV tube.I spent a few private moments w her. The doctor came in and adminitered the euthanasia meds, it was so quick and painless. they gave me afew minutes alone her, i cried my eyes out. They were so compassionate and let me spend time with LOla before and after. It was so hard, but they were very sympathetic to me. I appreciate everything they did for us and their gentle manner. everyone gave me their condolenses.Thank you everyone there, you are very kind compassionate people!! I will use thisplace again if I ever have an emergency, hopefully not.GOD bless the staff.
Negative experience: Bad vets. Just for the money. Please don't take your pets there. Find a real vet. I am suing them and we will see. Will update this.
Daniel- we do hope that Pia has gotten the care we recommended. She came to us for what looked like a broken leg. We offered you X-rays, pain medications, small amount of blood work to make sure her liver and kidneys would tolerate the better medications to help with inflammation and pain and a splint to stabilize the leg until you could get to a surgeon (since we don't repair broken bones). You declined the X-rays and the blood work but agreed to pain medications and the splint. We recommended follow up with your vet or a boarded surgical specialist as soon as possible. Not sure what issues you had and we certainly welcome the feedback. Feel free to reach out to us
Negative experience: Update: We’re now at our regular vet in Vista because our poor baby’s eyes and mouth started swelling up. I’m absolutely furious that this was misdiagnosed — it’s heartbreaking that we had to go through this after being brushed off earlier. We took our dog to Epic Vet after he was stung by a bee and began vomiting — which our regular vet recommended us to go to the nearest ER. I even showed Dr. Saiman a photo of the stinger I removed, but he brushed it off, saying the picture was “blurry” and repeatedly claiming, “we don’t know what caused it.” He kept referring to the sting as a “superficial abrasion,” which made me feel like he wasn’t listening or taking the situation seriously at all. He spent like 2 minutes tops with us in the room. His attitude came across as arrogant and dismissive, like he thought he was above explaining things to concerned pet owners. Instead of compassion or clear communication, we got indifference. He recommended Cerenia and wipes, but the whole visit felt rushed and condescending. What makes this even more disappointing is that this is the second bad vet experience we’ve had since moving to Temecula — and I had hoped Epic Vet would finally be different. Unfortunately, it wasn’t. For a place called Epic Vet, the experience was anything but. If you want a vet who genuinely listens, takes your concerns seriously, and treats your pet with care — look elsewhere.
Fantastic experience: All of the staff were great kind patient and knowledgeable. Special thanks to the doctors as I felt they kept me well informed and abreast of the status of Sebastian. Again thank you very much.
Fantastic experience: We had to bring our poor Toby in late tonight (Saturday). The first thing I noticed was how clean and pleasant the lobby was, followed by how friendly the front desk staff was. Checking in was easy, some places have 10 pages. We weren't here very long, though that depends on how busy a night is. If we had been here longer: the lobby has coffee, and drinks and snacks for purchase, and comfortable chairs. Dr. Runion was trustworthy and honest, and so easy to talk to. Pricing is fair for an emergency, and laid out clearly. We will never go to VCA again and though I wish I didn't have to go to emergency ever, I'm really glad we found Epic tonight. So was Toby.
Fantastic experience: Thanks for being there for us this morning! Special shout out to Dr. Stenseng and his team for their great service, we appreciate the support and care received. Thank you again!
Negative experience: Our dog's life was ended at just 5 years old because this place failed him. They allowed an unlicensed assistant (not a RVT), to inject methadone, insert an IV catheter, and complete a urine culture by cystocentesis(needle aspiration) on our dog. No one (according to chart notes) checked our dog's vitals after the methadone or procedure until almost 6 hours later, when the incoming doctor noted our dog was unresponsive and knocked out to the point he would not move or open his eyes (over sedated). Our dog went in there for antibiotic injections, IV fluids and 24 hr monitoring because he had a bacterial UTI (urine culture results). He walked in and the doctor noted: no fever, no pain on palpation, and panting, indicating respiratory stridor (he was a large english mastiff with shorter nose bridge which is often normal for this breed and why sedation meds are cautioned in this breed). The reason we brought him in was because his reg vet (we took him the day before to our vet because our dog slipped on wet pavement and pulled a muscle in his leg and needed to make sure it was not a serious injury) drew blood as part of wellness check and the labs revealed high WBC, elevated liver enzymes, there was some blood in his urine (indicates a UTI). Due to him not improving after 12 hours, I requested an ultrasound the next evening. It revealed some fluid leaking into his abdomen - most likely because the unlicensed assistant had punctured the bladder, allowing urine to fill his abdomen. No one thought twice about it. I was told it was not a big deal because they said it was most likely fluid buildup due to our dog not getting up, and is normal. No one was concerned our dog walked in there but after methadone and culture he never got up again. The next day we went to visit our dog, he was not doing well, his abdomen was distended, but they said it's fine because of the way he was lying and not to worry because he was urinating frequently. No one knew why he suddenly wasn't getting up (but they were quick to begin throwing out the "cancer" theory). By the 48th hour there, his abdomen was still distending. No one did anything except tell us the fluid was normal because he wasn't getting up, and he was urinating. He still had no fever, but seemed to be in pain, so he was given gabapentin. They recommended Euthanasia just 48 hours later because they had no diagnosis (besides possible cancer) and he was not getting better, he was getting worse and by now would not stand up at all. We didn't know what to do, but saw he wasn't well (most likely going septic at this point due to urine leaking (bacteria urine from the UTI) into his abdomen. Nothing was right about how this happened to him. His chart revealed the antibiotic injections and IV bags were not replaced regularly. There were missed doses, conflicting recorded notes, and being overcharged for IV bags they said he had, but the record shows he did not. The record revealed the names of who did what and when, so I could check the licensing (unlicensed assistant) on all of them. I did find one Dr's previous lawsuit for medical negligence (and it is clear why). I have to mention, not all Dr.'s there are neglectful. Dr. Bryden and Townsend, I felt were good Dr's and some techs we encountered were very nice. I have no complaints about the front desk either. Emily G who spoke with me often was exceptional. The owner (Lonnie) will tell you he is "sorry", but will try to convince you, he isn't liable (he is vicariously liable, actually). Thankfully, consumers have the CA med board to report and provide records to as well as the courts to hold these people accountable. Our dog's (certified service dog) life was ended prematurely here at 5yrs old. They will try to cover it up, but his chart and records tell his story through facts. There was medical negligence! Go somewhere else and don't risk your fur babies' lives here.
Rachel - while we have discussed this multiple times and even had your vet review the records. All of your assertions are baseless. We offered a complete review by your veterinarian who also found nothing amiss. 6 veterinarians have reviewed this case. One is a boarded specialist in the area of critical care and emergency medicine and the conclusion reached is the care that was provided exceeded the standard of care.
I understand you are upset that we did not agree to you asking for $12,000 for your losses in semen and medical care. Please remember you chose to stop and end his life we did not. We would have done everything in our power to make sure that you had your Yeti back home.
While your dogs case was unique it was certainly complicated by it being morbidly obese which creates diagnostic problems and treatment issues. It is very difficult to get blood consistently for lab tests. Ultrasounds are compromised and sampling from them is less than ideal. Obese patients also have other problems that complicate things from the bodies immune system to getting them up and moving.
We do welcome the California Veterinary Board to investigate this.
Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience at Epic Vets in Temecula. I was told the visit would take around 4 hours, but I ended up being there for 8, without being able to see my dog the entire time and without receiving any meaningful updates throughout the day. The front desk staff was lovely and kind, but unfortunately, that’s the only positive part of the visit. The costs were extremely high, and the level of competence was concerning. Out of three issues my dog had, they only managed to properly address one (a tail issue). They refused to answer on her skin problem, and they misdiagnosed her muscle spasms, which is causing her ongoing problems. For the amount of time, money, and stress this visit took, the care was not worth it. I left feeling frustrated, let down, and with my dog still suffering. I would not recommend Epic Vets.
I do apologize if your experience left you frustrated. Unfortunately, sometimes the wait times can be extensive, especially when performing diagnostics and such, since we do most everything in-house so you don't have to wait for results. If your pet is still not feeling well, we are always available by phone and we do offer re-checks at either no charge or low cost.
Negative experience: I’ve never had a bad experience at a vet but this was a first … you get told 2-4 hours Ofcourse if there is a emergency that’s understandable but when you end up being there from 7pm to 1 am and still keep getting told it’ll be 1more hour every hour then even after asking a staff member if we had to wait for 6 hours and being told no I check in before that … i would have left. I came in with two other owners with pets that’s were seen quickly then when it came to my pet they never even came to tell me any time frame or what is happening . Also being told they our taking dogs with more serious problems first made me feel like you didn’t even care or even bother with my animal …… when she has been crying and shaking in pain on there floor for almost 7 hours !!! I’d give this place a zero if I could.
While I understand the frustrations of an extended wait time, and we do we appreciate your patience. As an emergency hospital, we do have to triage our patients as they come in. Which leaves some to wait longer than we would like, while doing our best to giving accurate wait times. I do hope that your pet is doing better.
Fantastic experience: Last night at 8:30 my dog didn’t seem right. Wasn’t drinking water, eating and for a barky dog she wasn’t barking. When your dog is hurting you are at the vets mercy for them to care for your dog. After talking with the vet he recommended sedation to look into her mouth and gave us a bill including the anti nausea meds after she woke up. They told us they’d call in an hour and half and called back with the hour and showed us she had a stick perfectly stuck and wedged between her upper jawline. We trusted they would care for her and they went above and beyond. They also credited us back for the anti nausea meds that the doctor didn’t see a need for it. Being a first time emergency vet user we will definitely keep them in our back pocket for future use. Honest and respectable company hands down! Special thanks to Dr Owen’s for making good judgement calls and for sharing photos of the end result. They didn’t just help they explained thoroughly what was going to happen and what in fact did.
Thank you for your 5 star review. We are so happy that your pup is doing well!
Negative experience: Took my dog in last Sunday and was there from 11am to 6pm. I authorized them to do whatever tests they needed to do. The vet said there was nothing major and sent us home with some pain meds and nausea meds along. My dog died Tuesday at home. Less than 48 hours later. Go anywhere else. I let my best friend down by taking her here. Don’t make the same mistake
That is heart breaking and we are sorry to hear this. The testing we did run (blood work, X-rays, pancreatic testing) did not reveal any obvious problems. While these tests are a snap shot of how the body is at that time. This is not a guarantee that everything is fine and we always recommend a recheck if they are not doing well at home. After checking the communication logs I don't see any indication from your that your dog was doing poorly. Our job is to save as many of our loved ones as possible and we hate to hear stories like this where it is possible we might have been able to do more if given the opportunity or been alerted. Our heart goes out to you.
Fantastic experience: It’s never a pleasant experience going to an emergency vet, but the staff did their best to make it more manageable. Even though my cat is a jerk they were very kind and understanding. Very nice facility, great communication in a very sensitive way. I’m grateful to have the privilege to afford the tests and get the care my boy needed to rule out anything serious. Thank you to the wonderful team at EPIC.
Fantastic experience: Last night, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to let our sweet Lucy go. There are no words for the depth of love we had for her—or the pain of saying goodbye. But in the middle of such a devastating moment, we were blessed with the presence of an extraordinary veterinarian: Dr. Bryden. Dr. Bryden didn’t just treat Lucy. She sat with us. She listened—really listened—to our questions, our fears, our hopes. She helped us understand every option with patience and compassion, never rushing us or pushing a decision. Her warmth, empathy, and care gave us the strength to do what was right for Lucy, even though it broke our hearts. We could not have asked for a better doctor in such a tender, vulnerable time. I only wish we could have her as our regular vet. Thank you, Dr. Bryden. You helped us give Lucy the gift of peace, and you walked us through it with grace. You deserve 10 stars and so much more.
Negative experience: I waited for a while to give a calm review of this mercenary, uncaring, and incompetent place. Dean was a 2 ½ year old Lynx Point Siamese cat who was paraplegic from about 7 days old and I raised him from that point on. He was very healthy and got along very well. He was brought in for a urinary tract infection and he got a mucus plug blockage from It which I cleared. The infection was the greatest worry. Every person I talked to there was told he was paraplegic. The front staff was very friendly, but it went downhill very quickly from there. They took Dean to the back without us to be examined which I did not care for. Then they came out with an estimate of treatment for $7,000 and also gave the bare bones of $5,000. Both of those estimates were outrageous. When we said we could not afford that they then sent out the vet to talk to us. It went horribly wrong from there. He was very rude and uncaring and mainly tried to convince us to pay the higher amount. He cared very little about Dean or what I had to say. He was focused on the blockage and did not care that I had emptied his bladder that morning as I have done for 2 ½ years 3 times a day or more because he was paraplegic. He kept saying his bladder was full and would not listen that I had emptied it that morning. He said” I don’t think so”. He also said we should just take him home to die. I will always feel guilty about letting that person treat him for a blockage and give him some much-needed antibiotics, They told us to come back in 2 hours at 6pm. We went out to dinner since we did not live close by. We got a phone call telling us to wait until 9:30pm. When we went to pick him up, they told us he was still groggy and asleep. What they brought out was Dean motionless with his eyes open and his pupils fixed and dilated which means he was basically brain dead. I also found out the medical staff never noticed he was paraplegic. When we got home, I lifted him from his carrier to discover a large pool of blood as long as Dean and he was still bleeding. He died within 10 minutes. We still miss him a lot. Please be very very careful about choosing this place
I am so sorry for your loss. It is clear that after almost a year you are still upset. We understand the pain that comes with the grief of a loved one. If there is anything more we can do, please reach out to us, [email protected].
Negative experience: We took our cat in because she was attacked by a dog. They quoted us $6K-$7K to treat her punctured lung. We were crying and said we can't afford that. They came back with a second quote of $2K-$3K, which is an insane difference. They should present all options at all price levels very clearly right away. This is our cat's life we are talking about! We told them multiple times that she has a broken leg since she's limping very seriously. They ignored that, despite us talking to multiple people about it and bringing it up many times. They said to wait nearly a week to bring her to a vet to check out her leg. We went to a different vet around a week later and they said we waited too long because now there's an infection and she needs surgery. If the people at Epic Vets had simply examined the leg, done x-rays, whatever - like we were asking, they could have set the bone and put it in a sling and saved us $4K-$5K (that's how much her surgery will cost). Another thing is, we know she has tapeworms because we've seen it - and when we mentioned this one of the vets said only he can tell us if she has worms because he's the doctor and that we need testing to confirm it... We literally saw them moving around in her shit - we don't need your expensive tests to confirm it. We need recommendations of medications to get rid of it. We don't recommend this place. They overcharge and genuinely don't care about what we know about our pets. They care about money.
Well we absolutely hope your cat is getting the care it needs and is on the mend. We always recommend the very best in care that we can offer. Like you said this is your cats life we are talking about. So if the very best care is not affordable we do our very best to find a plan that does fit your budget. While this may not address every problem it usually focuses on treating the most life threatening problems first. While a broken leg is serious it usually is not considered a life threatening injury. This is often addressed the next day with a primary care vet after we have stabilized the pet. Cats also don't tolerate bandages (often make the problem worse and create more pain) very well and to "set" a bone requires full anesthesia. So often it just makes more sense to do this with your vet.
Unfortunately, we did not have enough information to identify you in our system. We'd love to chat with you further about your case. Feel free to reach out to us, [email protected].
Fantastic experience: Amazing staff. I know my storm is in a better place without anymore pain. Thank you for your honesty, kind words and beautiful card. The only vet I will ever go to.
Fantastic experience: I'm so thankful for what a wonderful job they did! My dog had a mass that was slowly growing on her knee and one day it opened up and started bleeding everywhere! We came in and they removed it THAT afternoon and we were able to take her home THAT night. The wound healed wonderfully and the scar is perfect. They originally charged a larger amount to my card, and I told them it was more than we could afford and anything they did not absolutely have to do, I asked them to deduct it, and not do it, which they did, and to my pleasant surprise, once the surgery was done, they refunded me more than $1,000. I would absolutely recommend this emergency vet clinic to anyone who genuinely cares about the well being of their animals, because this clinic does too.
Negative experience: Y’all literally couldn’t find anything wrong with my dog and I had to pay $438 just for you to tell me he’s OK and he’s still having seizures right now. Can’t even walk is not eating y’all need to do better. I don’t even know why you guys are open and you can’t even help my dog.
Fantastic experience: I called at 2 a.m because I was worried about my maltipoo who I thought I snipped when trimming his fur near his genitalia, I expected irritation or attitude because that’s what i’ve experience in the past from other vet locations but that was not the case at all here! the receptionist who answered not only was kind, but also helpful she addressed my concerns with empathy, mentioning precautions and next steps for my dog, she also and allowed me to send a picture of my dog to reassure that there was no injury/ not likely, amazing customer service and positivity even so early in the morning! this is a great emergency vet i would consider & recommend if ever needed in the future
Fantastic experience: My dog had an allergic reaction to a bee sting and they took such good care of her. Such an amazing staff.
Fantastic experience: My experience at this vet was super pleasant! Our wait time for a walk in was super quick - our technician, Marcus was very knowledgeable! Providing multiple options for us to feel comfortable. The front staff also was super kind and made this experience an amazing one. Would recommend this to anyone.
Negative experience: Found a dog and took it there to scan for a microchip @ 11pm on a Saturday night. The vet tech scanned so lazily that I asked him to try again. He did, lazily again. Found nothing. Needless to say, another vet came Wednesday and found it in the normal spot. Wasted time. Learn how to scan for chips. We drove 40 minutes for incompetence. Thanks for nothing.
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend going to EPIC if you need an emergency vet. They are reasonably priced, extremely kind and sensitive to your situation and are quick to get you in an out. They have helped my dogs in emergency situations and I can’t thank them enough!
Fantastic experience: New location is so much bigger. Total upgrade. We’ve brought two of our dogs here and feel that was can trust the staff. Marcus helped with our intake process and made sure to keep us updated.
Positive experience: 5 stars for the staff, especially with the complicated times we live in, and no stars for the location. It's time for this pet emergency service to move to a new location. PERIOD! With the curbside service, it is very distracting that there is a bar/lounge next door causing all kinds of problems after dark. We sat in the parking lot from sundown to midnight making complicated decisions about the life and death of our puppy FROM OUR CAR only to be bombarded with loud music, noise, foul language, and obnoxious behaviors from the bar scene in the same location using the same parking. Loitering with arguments going on, screaming, cars speeding through the lot is not something that is desirable when you have an emergency with a family pet. We took our dog here 15 years ago and had to put him to sleep. It was a peaceful experience then. Now, it is a place I would avoid after dark with the curbside service and a loud bar/lounge sharing the parking lot. If you have no other choice, because let's face it, who is open on Sunday night for a pet emergency?!? I would recommend that you park far away from here while you're waiting for the phone calls or emails from them on your cell, as that is how the communication is now. Had I known ahead of time, I would have parked far away for the several hours we waited just for the peace and quiet, and safe place to cry while dealing with a family emergency! Or better yet, park behind the clinic. Found that out at midnight when we picked up our puppy. There is a peaceful parking lot BEHIND the clinic!! UPDATE: May 2025- I just saw this old review of mine on here. I am extremely thankful to see that they have changed their location!!! YAY!! THANK YOU!! As I said, the staff was a five star review and now, with a new location, perhaps any experiences here will be outstanding now!
Thank you for your feedback, that is something we are considering in the near future.
Update: 5/20/25 - Thank you for the update! We appreciate your feedback and hope you'll have a much better experience at our new location if you ever need us. Thanks again, Clover Family.
Negative experience: Please do not ever take your animal here! I took my dog here for painful constipation that she was having because I could not get her in at my regular vet on a Friday. She was in a lot of pain and I didn't want her to suffer all weekend. When I got there they took her back to be examined by the vet without me. Then some girl comes out and says your dog needs 150.00 morphine shots, numerous other shots and 650.00 xrays. The vet comes in and never addressed her symptoms. I left without a diagnosis and she was in extreme pain all weekend. Her anal gland ruptured while at my vet on Monday. This vet charged me 275.00 for nothing and never examined my dog. He would have known it was an anal gland issue. He didn't care about my dog only about the money. Stay far away from this horrible place or you will regret it!!!
Melinda- we do hope that Nina is doing better on the pain medications we sent home as well as the medication for softening her stool. Hopefully your veterinarian can help with the chronic knee pain.
To be absolutely clear. She received a comprehensive physical exam by the doctor. No anal gland abscess was present at that time. An anal gland abscess can happen in less than 24 hours. Which would explain why it wasn't visible at her visit with us. Her anal glands at that time were small and normal. She was sent home with 2 very strong pain medications and we did try to offer you diagnostics to figure out the problem. You however declined the diagnostics so we treated the pain and the symptoms. Do not forget to talk to your vet about a refill for the chronic knee pain.
Fantastic experience: I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with Marcus during my visit at EPIC ER VET HOSPITAL,along with his team they have all shown amazing care and knowledge on my pets comdition. He is extremely polite, knowledgeable, and professional in every aspect of his work. Marcus handles animals with a calm and confident demeanor that immediately puts both pets and owners at ease. It’s clear he’s passionate about what he does and takes the time to answer questions thoroughly. His attention to detail and genuine compassion make a real difference. Marcus is truly an asset to the clinic, and I’m grateful for the excellent care he provides
Fantastic experience: Really patient my dog is not friendly and they worked on her really good Marcus was compassionate very professional
Fantastic experience: They were excellent in every way. We drove from the Palm Springs since there were no 24 hour vets in our area. We made the 90 minutes drive in the middle of the night based upon other 24 hour vet services recommendations. The other vets were not in a position to perform emergency procedures if needed. We're still relatively new to CA and had to trust our gut instincts about taking our cat (our child) to an unknown. We were very impressed with the services and the expediency received. We slept in our car in their parking lot, awaiting test results. Thankfully, our boy did not require hospitalization or surgery. Took him the same visit with pain meds and easily followed instructions. Thank you EPIC Vets!
Fantastic experience: They have my dog in here currently from an emergency. He is being very well taken care of and I am extremely glad Marcus is helping us step by step and Dr Stenseng as well. Thank you for helping Cheef and our family.
Fantastic experience: Marcus helped me and took my kitten Leo back to figure out what was going on with his tummy issues. The staff is friendly and guided us to the right location. Great for first time patients, they do not schedule appointments, walk ins only which is helpful for emergencies.
Fantastic experience: Kind and clean Lisa and Marcus helped my dog and I. She was well cared for by Dr Pace. If I need emergency services in the future I plan to come back.
Negative experience: In response to EPIC's response - Seriously? I already spent a shift with your staff Thursday night AND Friday during the day. I saw the owner come in and brag about how great his new location looks. Yet my dog sat in the back being ignored for hours. The front office staff is performatively nice but has no ability to actually help. You only have one vet available and keep telling more owners to come in and pack your kennels. GROSS Our biggest concern with our dog was that he was dehydrated. We told you that. Keeping him without water for that long only made his condition worse! Original review: I rarely leave reviews for businesses. Everyone has an off day and I get that. But this vet hospital is EPICally despicable. They do not care about the health of our pets. They only care about packing in patients who will then lay in pain for hours waiting for one vet to eventually see them. After being told to come in, I spent over 6 hours in their waiting room listening to the receptionists tell everyone who called to come in with no regard for how many animals were already waiting. All they had to say was that they were full so we could go to the other emergency vet nearby. This is what any reputable vet will do. Instead, they left our sweet little guy alone and suffering WITHOUT WATER FOR HOURS - verified by the vet tech. Yet the phone rings and they kept telling others to come on in. They only see dollar signs in their kennels. They tried to tell me they needed to treat the sicker dogs that came in after us. There was one…only one and he left long before we did. They were clearly more than full when they told us to come in. Suffer, wait, then overpay for the privilege. Just disgusting...EPICally disgusting.
We do thank you for taking the time to leave a review with your opinion. We are also very sorry you felt this way and for that we apologize. It is possible we could have communicated better with you about wait times however we are an emergency hospital and things can change very quickly with in-patients as well as new patients.
We are always here for our community and their pets. Turning a patient away is almost never done as we are often the only place within an hour that can see patients 24/7. We do our best to communicate long wait times if we know in advance. We would never prioritize money over patient care.
You are correct we did not offer water as this can create a risk for some procedures as well as not recommended for patients that are currently vomiting.
If you would like to schedule a time to come spend a shift with us you can see first hand how much our staff cares.
Fantastic experience: Marcus triaged my pet and he was very kind. He explained the process so I understood what was happening. EPIC Vets is good for emergencies especially when your regular vet is closed or has no availability.
Fantastic experience: I went to this animal hospital because my cat had severe vomiting. The staff was very kind and compassionate. There was a long wait because the Vet had 2 urgent surgeries with 1 ending in euthanasia. I finally met with Dr Bryden, who despite 2 surgeries and being so busy, she sat with me and discussed the possibility that my cat had cancer. She was so kind and sensitive to my financial situation. My cat ended up transferring to another hospital to have specific ultrasound. The process was seamless and the staff was wonderful. Special thanks to Lisa. She was my initial contact. She was very sweet and encouraging. Best vet experience I’ve ever had.
Thank you Karen for your understanding and positive feedback. Dr Bryden is amazing for sure as is Lisa. We hope everything turns out for the positive for your kitty! We are always here for you and your furry friends.
Fantastic experience: Every time we take our 2 dogs here, they do an excellent job making sure they get the proper treatment and come back home to us (one of our dogs is a +16year old husky). Thank you Marcus
Awesome ! Thank you
Positive experience: Brought in my dog. Waited a while to be called. Only one vet here that was in the OR. Today was not their best day. However have been here before with great service. So averaging out the stars
Chris- thank you for the honest review. It is much appreciated. It is unfortunate that we sometimes have to go to surgery for procedures that simply can't wait and we do share your frustration but if there or more we would greatly appreciate you reaching out to us.
Fantastic experience: Marcus was great and polite. Wrote down all the details and made us feel heard. He cared about our pet. Overall Epic was great. Clean and everyone was professional and friendly.
Thank you so much! Glad you love our new facility.
Negative experience: The events happened awhile ago and was afraid to write a review out of fear they would not help my dogs in an emergency because of how quickly they showed to me how little my dogs life meant to them compared to instant profit. but also considering how we were treated and how meaningless my dogs life was to them I realize I’d be better off driving the extra time to save my dog than go here. I realize they now have a new office and hopefully the people I dealt with are no longer there. But this needs to be said and addressed. These people showed absolutely ZERO empathy annd made it clear money made quickly is more important than my dying dog. basically tried to hold my dogs life for money. Awhile back My dog was hit by a car and without hesitation we put him in our car and drove to the nearest animal hospital which was this place. We get there and they started CPR and I felt so relieved. Until while we were waiting and my family is hysterical they tell me I need pay $2,000 upfront if I want them to put him in trauma surgery if they revive him right then and there. That they wouldn’t do it without payment. Like I somehow thought to grab my wallet after my dog was hit by a speeding vehicle. Let me make it clear though, I am not mad at the amount because I know how bad of condition he was in and they would have to go in and check for internal bleeding and broken bones which is costly alone let alone the process it would take to fix them. Which he would also require blood transfusions and so on. The price was less than I expected but still a lot. But trauma surgery like that requires a lot and extreme precision. So I didn’t fault them there at all and still don’t. It was what happened next and how they demanded the money then and there for such a high amount is why I’m leaving this review and gave them one star with my conclusion money that second means more to them than your pet. So I told them I didn’t have it but I could give them our phones to hold and the rest of us could stay there while one of us drove back to get one of our wallets just please save our dog. The front desk ROLLED their eyes at me over this then gave me attitude saying that they cannot and will not do that. That without the money upfront they couldn’t do anything until they got it. These people will literally put instant money gain over your dogs life even in critical condition and will not work with you in anyway. My dog passed despite their attempts at CPR but given how they run things even if he was revived I doubt he would’ve lasted very long. Considering they made it clear they would do nothing beyond that without me handing them thousands of dollars and wouldn’t do anything until they got it. I’d be more understanding cause I know they just don’t want to be scammed but they refused to work with us in anyway. Only when my dog died then they worked with us on a payment plan for the bill and didn’t demand any money upfront. So basically my dog got hit, they tried to take advantage of my family while we were hysterical, while our dog is dying, tried to work with them in everyway I could think of but because we didn’t have $2000 or a credit card handy right then and there, like my first thought is to go back in my house and get money while my dog is in critical condition after being struck by a speeding vehicle and time was of the essence. Then when I tried everything I could to get them to help us for my dog and find a way for them to help him while someone went and got the money they were demanding. I was given attitude and condescension for not having thousands of dollars handy for them right then and there. In short if your dog is dying and time is of the essence make sure to grab your wallet cause clearly instant profit is more important to them than your beloved family pet.
That sounds like a very stressful and heart wrenching experience. Our heart goes out to you. We do very much appreciate the feedback. We certainly can understand how it could appear with finances. Things can move quickly and add that to the stress of the situation empathy is often not appreciated. We are family owned and not a multi hospital corporation and we also have our own loved ones. We do our best to treat our clients as we would our own family members and this includes empathy, understanding and also direct communications about finances. No one including us wants the cost of care to be as high as it can be but unfortunately the costs associated with owning a business in California and in health care makes it tough on all of us.
We are truly sorry you felt like you were treated poorly and if you still wish to talk about that we are always open to a dialogue to help us improve. Thank you for taking the time and the courage to discuss your experience.
Fantastic experience: Tree and I had to wait two hours to be checked in, which was on the low end of the estimate before I called him (a Saturday evening), so that was pretty good. Marcus checked Tree and me in smoothly, took good notes, asked the right questions, and gave me an idea about how the rest of the appointment might go in terms of timing, etc. EPIC has a new location that is very modern, bright, and clean. I hope they are able to help poor Tree, who suddenly took ill earlier today.
Fantastic experience: I cannot express how thankful I am to the vets and staff at EPIC you saved my dog Kota Your excellent care and kindness was above and beyond. I will forever be grateful Thank you Ann Tucker and Kota
Thank you so much Ann. We hope that Kota continues to improve.
Fantastic experience: I had a very positive interaction with Marcus - he was polite, respectful, professional, and very gentle! He's a very good listener. It's also always a good sign that my dog felt very calm with him
Thank you so much! Marcus is indeed wonderful with great energy.
Fantastic experience: seriously the best. we brought our boba in at night when we noticed he had been straining when peeing/ had blood in his urine. rushed him over immediately and he was able to be seen within the hour. marcus was kind and compassionate, reassuring us that boba was going to be okay. the ladies at the front desk were stellar, kept us comfortable and the area clean. dr. bryden was amazing and talked us through everything and what she suspected the cause was before running additional tests. the wait was long as expected with all emergency vets but we wouldn’t trade the experience for anything. boba got all the necessary treatments and tests done to find the cause of his symptoms. they diagnosed him with a uti and sent us home with some antibiotics / pain medication to help him. didn’t cost us an arm and a leg, spent a reasonable amount, and much less than expected! we cannot thank you all enough for your kindness during this scary time. we expect boba to feel better in no time! :) thank you all!
Dr. Bryden and the staff are delighted to hear that you were happy with your experience with us. It was our pleasure to care for Boba and hope he continues to improve. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Fantastic experience: taken my pets here multiple times. every time the care team is amazing. fast to get the animals seen by the vet. Marcus was super sweet and took great care of my pup. highly recommend him with your pets care.
Thank you Rebekkah! We're thrilled to hear that you continue to have positive experiences with us. We appreciate your kind words.
Fantastic experience: Marcus and Braden were very nice and helpful and their professionalism put us at ease. They were informative and guided us through the admission process smoothly. Because of them and the other staff, we had a pleasant experience.
Thank you for the 5-star review! We're glad you had a pleasant experience with us.
Fantastic experience: Marcus checked us in and was kind and was sensitive to our situation. He made sure our furry friend was taken care of. I come here for every pet emergency I have and they have done there very best to treat my animals.
Thank you for the wonderful feedback. We are glad to hear you've continued to have positive experiences with us.
Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this emergency clinic!!!! When a pet is in trouble, most of us owners would do anything to help them feel better, and I cannot thank this office enough for making me feel like they were as invested in my dog’s wellbeing as I was! The doctor was very honest about my options and did not make me feel pressured at all to spend any extra money. They got us right in and even helped me get my big dog out of my truck so he didn’t have to jump down on his injured leg. From start to finish, my whole visit was lovely and my old man got to come home ☺️ 100% recommend!
Fantastic experience: Once again the entire staff worked seamlessly to ensure my cat received the best care. Wait time was long but not an issue, as there were multiple patients who were not stable and whose conditions were critical while my cat was there for an ear infection.
We are sorry about the wait but we do greatly appreciate your understanding. We hope that Angel is on her way to recovery. Let us know if you have questions. Dr. Pace
Fantastic experience: Great team! I took advantage of filling out my pet’s info before we arrived via the link sent to my phone. Saved so much time once we arrived and they were ready for us when we got there! Marcus was especially helpful during the exam and communicated throughout the visit. Overall positive experience and we will make EPIC Vets our go-to if needed in the future.
Dr. Pace and the staff appreciate your kind words. We hope Anton is continuing to improve.
Fantastic experience: I was able to get my injured cat seen at 1:30 am at this hospital without a long wait. I was able to quickly consult with a vet on surgery treatment. The vet was kind and answered all my questions. I had originally gone to a hospital in Murrieta where the wait time was 6 to 8 hours. I’m glad that they recommended Epic Pet Hospital as an alternative. Marcus assisted me when I had to take my cat back to have her stitches removed. He was very kind and professional. I would come here again in the event of another emergency.
We appreciate your feedback and are delighted to know you enjoyed our service. We hope Lillie is continuing to improve.
Fantastic experience: Staff at the facility are very friendly, nice, understanding and patient, from check in through exam and discharge. Marcus took his time and definitely understood my concerns and was reassuring. He thoroughly explained what the process would be for my cat’s exam. I appreciate the care displayed when they know how concerned I was with my pets health.
Dr. Stenseng and the staff are thrilled to hear you had a positive experience with us.
Fantastic experience: I brought my pitbull in because she was hacking and seemed to have something in her throat. I met with Marcus in the waiting room who informed me that there was a long wait because it’s an emergency service. He took a look at Beaux listened to her symptoms, and said that she could probably wait to see her regular doctor. Marcus was excellent. He was very kind and friendly. I appreciate that he was taking mine and Beaux’s needs into consideration, and I feel comfortable returning if needed. so far I’ve had nothing but a great experience with this place.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We appreciate the kind words.
Fantastic experience: Marcus onboarded our Lucy today. He was thorough and inquisitive of what’s normal for Lucy on the daily. He answered some general health questions we had and put the dog parents at ease. Lucy happily followed Marcus back for a more thorough evaluation
We're glad to hear that you had a positive experience with us.
Fantastic experience: Marcus was attentive and informative in making sure our dog was ok when taking her staples out! The process was very quick! Very satisfied with my experience here.
We're glad to hear Zuri is continuing to improve. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.
Fantastic experience: Marcus was friendly and really seemed to care for our fur baby. Communication was great and we were given an estimated time for results.
Thank you for the kind words.
Fantastic experience: Very one was kind and helpful from the ladies at the front desk to the doctors on the morning and over night when I would call to check on my Bubba. Brayden and Jasmine and the owner took the time to help me make sure that I knew how to take care of my Bubba going home since he could use the restroom on his own and the proses he will be going through. Thank you all for taking care of him and helping me through this. 10/10
Thank you so much for your kind words. Dr. Pace and the staff are glad Bubba is doing well
Fantastic experience: Kaylee was the tech assign to our girl after a rattlesnake bite. She is compassionate and caring. She spoke about our girl like she was her own. She was very reassuring with the care our girl was receiving. We were given an estimate and even the low end was higher than our final bill. I am hope not to need their services again but will return if so.
Thank you for the kind words. Allie is such a sweetheart; we are glad she's doing better.
