Fantastic experience: Dr. Deborah Rivenburgh is simply wonderful! She has been taking care of our 16 year old Maltese ‘Cashew’ for a few years now and he could not be under better care! Dr. Rivenburgh is SO very knowledgeable and with every exam, she explains everything in such an easy to understand way. On top, she is the kindest, sweetest and most compassionate Dr. that you could ever even dream of! She always takes the time to answer all of our questions, concerns and options. Dr. Rivenburgh is simply FABULOUS!!!

Surgery is always stressful, but Dr. Rivenburgh’s empathy and clear communication made a world of difference for us. It’s obvious she truly cares about the animals she treats. The entire staff was professional and supportive throughout the whole process. Shania is recovering and we hope to go back and say thank you, and we’re so glad we trusted them with her care.

Fantastic experience: Our experience with this hospital and Dr. Wagner was above expectations. We were in need of a quick ultrasound and our previous hospital could not accommodate. I called around and everyone else was extremely expensive and had outside Dr. come in once a week to preform test. This facility has it all in house and had it done same afternoon and reasonable. The tech’s , receptionist’s and complete staff were compassionate. Unfortunately We were fighting a battle we could not win. Cancer of the spleen took my 3 year old golden. Dr.Wagner did everything she could and was very compassionate throughout. Thank you Dr.Wagner.

Fantastic experience: First time here to have my adopted 4 year old cat, Romeo who’s never been to a vet get neutered, & vaccinated..Dr.Scholl & assistant, Alexia, we’re great! Totally professional, very patient, listened to my cat’s background, handled him with gentle care during exam..Left him overnight for surgery, Dr.Rivenburgh performed surgery, leukemia.test, vaccinations.She called me afterward with detailed report, was very caring..The lady who instructed me on care when picking him up was also very caring, patient..It also touched my heart to see on the front lobby counter, a beautiful sign with candles about respect if candles are lit for someone’s pet who passed at this difficult time. Excellent top notch large clean hospital & top Vets & assistants & office staff, very caring, professional, & patient. AND, VERY reasonable good prices with first time big discounts! Highly recommend!!

The staff kept me updated throughout the day on how my Bella was doing and gave me clear instructions on how to care for her once we got home. Later that evening, I received a call from Dr. Rivenburgh herself to check on Bella. That personal touch meant so much, especially knowing she had such a long day in surgery. We talked about the follow-up appointment, and she explained everything that had happened in detail. I truly appreciate how Dr. Rivenburgh always offers options to help save money without compromising the quality of my dog’s care. I’m very grateful for the exceptional care and compassion she and her team provide.

Negative experience: As a medical professional I completely understand working with the public and how some personalities just don’t mesh well with others. You see all walks of life. My family has been coming to this vet office for years… some amazing vets and very affordable prices. My review today is only because the vet we have seen the past couple of visits has been extremely argumentative. No bedside manner at all. I hate leaving negative reviews…. But if you do not feel that you can be professional, compassionate, patient with a particular pet’s owners, please reevaluate and consider asking your college to step in to take over care. There is no reason to argue each time a question is asked.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with them today. Arrived for my appointment with my cat. The Vet Tech took care of my cat and trimmed his nails. I also had a good experience with the doctor and staff in making decisions on helping my dog "Cross the Rainbow Bridge". The staff were very friendly and compassionate with the situation. Fantastic experience: The experience was great, as always. I was trying to replinish my pup's meds and needed to get an exam before i placed the order. Booked an appointment, and got seen the same day. The vet was caring and attentive, the staff was great, and everyone was smiling. Workplace vibe is a thing, and my Shih Tzu benefitted from it; he is healthy, but needs to lose some pounds. They did a great job at being empathetic and liatening, and also cared about my concerns.

Fantastic experience: Simply put, the quality of care is unmatched, the vets highly qualified and very patient, pet friendly, and informative. The customer care and service is phenomenal, and they are all very responsive and helpful. A few people to mention specifically that I have had the pleasure and privilege of working with: Dr. Hobson, Dr. Scholl, Deborah, Florence, and Jill. There are several other staff members I don't know as well, but the entire staff is terrific and very easy to work with. I would not hesitate to strongly recommend this animal hospital. I have 9 pets and they have seen several of them. I really appreciate the medical staff's willingness to come into the waiting room and discuss your pet's health prior to taking your pet into an examination room. That little extra touch goes a long, long way especially knowing how traumatized your pet may be and how emotional the visit might be for everyone involved. Other clinics and hospitals (both human and animal) could learn a lot from a quick visit to this place. Fantastic experience: Our vet was very thorough and explained different medication options for our dogs allergies. In fact, recommended against a $175 injection because it wouldn’t treat his inflammation. Two days later and my dog no longer has hives or is pink.

Fantastic experience: The only thing I would say I wish was different, is the constant slamming of all the doors, it startled us the entire time we were there. Other than that everyone is awesome!!!!

Fantastic experience: My senior dog and I have been going to Butterfield Animal Hospital for almost 2 years now, and once we found Dr. Picarro as our primary vet, we’ve been so happy with our experience. She is incredibly thorough, informative, and compassionate. I’m admittedly a very detail-oriented pet owner who always comes prepared with questions and research before every visit — and Dr. Picarro is always patient, taking the time to answer everything without ever making me feel rushed or like just another patient being funneled in and out. I also want to give a shoutout to Darzy, the vet tech who often assists during our appointments. She’s warm, kind, and empathetic — her friendly, gentle approach always puts both me and my dog at ease. We’ve moved quite a bit over the years and have seen many vets all over Southern California, and while Butterfield isn’t the cheapest, the care, compassion, and professionalism from Dr. Picarro make it completely worth it. She’s the reason our experience has been so positive, and we look forward to continuing to see her as our primary vet.

They took care of my sweet boy and felt at ease with the treatment plan and care :) Prices are so reasonable for vet services. Highly recommend this beautiful place for your furbabies!

Fantastic experience: While we have very happily used the vet services here before, and been extremely satisfied, this particular appointment was with a technician. We have a pug and if you know, you know they make their feelings known to all by their screaming. Our pug is a champion screamer. Although the tech was covered in pug glitter (fur) both he and our pug looked - dare I say? - happy when they came out following her nail trimming. Although I have not ruled out wizardry, these people really know what they’re doing and they do it well. I whole heartedly recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: Everyone is so friendly. I feel like they really care for pets here. I’ve been to several vets in the area since I moved out here a year ago. Out of all the places we’ve been, I like Butterfield the most. It’s half an hour away from my home but it’s worth the drive. I first came here when my dog had a slight back injury and this place was the only animal hospital that had walk in hours. They first checked her to make asses her situation and offered to give her pain medication. We waited three hours to be seen that day but I was so appreciative of them being able to fit us in and give us to appropriate medication to reduce the sweeping. From that day on, I have been continuously coming back here.

The front desk staff where alright , no very happy of some and not vert talkative or concern or compassion to our hurt animals. People must leave there personal life out the door. So more hospitality feel because as well where going through bc or hurt or sick or passing animals. If your an intervert you don't belong in hospitality job. I gave a 3 bc of the front desk but 5 start for doctor and assistant.

Fantastic experience: Love the Vets here & vet technician plus pharmacist and…. i just think they’re great. Being an RN, I’m always looking for medical staff that pays attention to details, conservative in care plus can explain their assessment & outcome process. I find them reasonable in price & appropriate in recommendations of care. They have cared for my puppies to senior adults with continued ailments. They also are forthcoming on how to save money by providing prescriptions that I’m able to fill using outside resources.

Fantastic experience: Spring 2025 Katy & Dr. Hobson, the vet tech & doctor I interacted with during my first visit & who handled my cat’s surgery, were so friendly to both me & my cat, you can tell they have pets of their own & are animal lovers! They were super transparent about the fees & gave me options available for my cat Sevro’s neutering + microchips that were very helpful. My cat is in good recovery after his surgery & was well taken care of during his day there. Everyone is super friendly & the waiting room + patient rooms were clean, I know my cat will be in good hands the next time I come back! UPDATE September 2025: Dr. Wagner is also amazing! My cat Sevro wasn’t feeling well so I took the earliest appointment they have which was with Dr. Wagner who was so incredible! She was very thorough in her examination, extremely transparent about her thought processes & procedures she would like to do for further investigation, answered all of my questions, & was genuinely so incredible throughout this process. This was my first health scare as a pet parent & I had to leave Sevro there for the day for imaging, but I had full trust that he was in good hands & that I’m glad I came in. He’s already doing so much better after his treatment plan & medicine at home, & he just went in yesterday. Super grateful for her expertise & kindness during the whole process!

Fantastic experience: The Butterfield Animal Hospital experience for me was perfect. I called them to make an appointment for my Siberian Husky for vaccines. Previous vets I called required a checkup along with the vaccines. When I called this vet as a new customer I asked to make an appointment. The receptionists asked if it was for vaccines only or a checkup. I was able to make a vaccine only appointment for 2 days later. Their prices for vaccines are very reasonable. The staff is very friendly. The day of the appointment I requested a curb side pickup and they came out after a few minutes and got my dog. The whole vaccines appointment took around 10 minutes from start to finish. It was an excellent experience for me. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: If you’re doing a military move or PCS overseas, I HIGHLY recommend going to Butterfield for their help getting all the health certificates or documents in order. We called them after a friend recommended us. We didn’t know anything about the process but they were so professional and helpful! They guided us through the process, helped us plan dates, and made appointments for us. At the last appointment they gave us some mild sedatives for our pup so the flight would be easier too. Erin and Deborah were especially helpful, I would recommend anyone to this vet clinic!

Fantastic experience: Butterfield Animal Hospital was amazing last Saturday when I came in (walk in at 8:00 am opening) with my pup who appeared to have some allergic reaction. They were very attentive and got me in to see the Vet right away. After observing her and a couple of tests the Vet addressed the issue, prescribed an antibiotic and wash (which I was able to pick up right there at the office). From the receptionist at the desk to the assistant to the Vet, everyone at Butterfield Animal Hospital was wonderful!

Fantastic experience: Traveling through town, our senior pup had a flair up of congestive heart failure due to a worsening heart murmur. I called Butterfield Animal Hospital, they offered to take him right in as a walk-in. They did x-rays and confirmed fluid in/around his lungs, causing his heart to work harder, and just generally making him feel/function poorly. They gave him a shot of diuretics and sent us home with the right meds. The entire staff made me feel welcome, caring, and for a walk-in, the Dr spent adequate time with me explaining everything. GREAT EXPERIENCE for me and my boy Dexter.

Fantastic experience: To say I am happy is an understatement. Since moving to the area a year and a half ago, we have struggled to find a vet that is considerate and attentive. After some bad experiences, I was recommended to come to Butterfield by a client of mine and I am so grateful she did. I took one of my Great Danes yesterday who needs some testing done and although the original doctor I was set to see called in sick and I waited about an hour and a half to see the other vet (who had to squeeze in all patients,) I was so pleased with my experience. Even running behind, there was absolutely no rush from Dr and answered more than my questions, gave me such great information and really payed the best attention to my girl. I also want to give a good review to the vet tech that assisted in our visit. I unfortunately forget what her name was but she was beyond amazing with Savvy and listened, suggested and offered some really great customer service and love to us. If you're looking for a vet, look no further. I am so grateful to have had that experience yesterday and it was well worth the wait!

Fantastic experience: My pup has had lower g i problems and I just couldn’t get a handle on it long term. Brought him in to see the Doc and after a X-ray and a couple of different blood tests, he needs Vit B12…. Who knew they can be totally healthy their whole life, turn 11 and health becomes a dumpster fire! Thank goodness for Butterfield Vet Hospital. Between the Doc and me, fingers crossed he’ll be here for a lot more birthdays❤️❤️

Fantastic experience: They treated our fur baby with so much love and care throughout the spay process, from the pre-surgery consultation where they examined her and outlined everything involved (being completely transparent about cost), to the post-surgery care items. The surgeon did a really great job, the stitches were carefully placed and it seems like the scarring will be minimal. Definitely will post an update in a few weeks. Fantastic experience: This by far is the best Animal Hospital I have ever been to. The front office staff is friendly and warm. The techs are so caring and gentle. Dr. Hobbson is an incredible vet! She takes her time, listens, and is spot on every time. She never rushes and is so sensitive! Lauren who is on the pharmacy is spectacular! She trouble shoots if we are in need of something special! She always has our refills on time. If I mess up and forget to call in she will get it done that day! ! All my animals are happy here! This place treats us like family and I love them all!
