Fantastic experience: My 20 year old cat was lethargic, wobbling, and just not acting like his usual normal self. I was bracing for the worst news scenario but DVM Chloe Haynes explained that Pierre had 2 bad teeth. We discussed treatment options, risks vs benefits and we decided to pull the two bad teeth. We were sent home with antibiotics, etc. & trained how to administer them. That was December 1, 2025 and Pierre is now livelier than he has been in quiet some time! I highly recommend Walnut Grove Animal Clinic. Everyone from the front desk, & the other assistants were very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic experience: I have been going here for several years now. Dr. Breland is always wonderful with my animals. Last week, my dog got injured 30 min before I was scheduled to leave for an event. I raced to the clinic to be seen as a walk-in, and Dr. Hunt got me in and out in 15 min! I still made my event on time! Wonderful service!

Fantastic experience: I’ve lived in Memphis for 3 years. I have 2 elderly dogs, 1 is 10 1/2 and 1 is almost 16. This was the 3rd place I went here that I felt was a good fit. Luckily for me, it was a great fit for my family! The staff is absolutely next-level and communicative! Dr. Haynes was the best doctor I’ve ever been to. Her bedside manner puts you at ease, especially in these super emotional moments. My older dog had 6 seizures in 1 night a couple weeks ago, and they have made everything feel comfortable and safe for not only me, but my little old man as well! You would be doing your animal a disservice by not bringing them here. Thank Y’all very much!!!

Negative experience: Front end here picks and chooses who they’re polite to. Lauren(Milky Way hair) was very rude to me and treated me drastically different from the people who came after me. She was very upbeat with them and I got the gen Z stare, but she doesn’t look that young so I was very confused by the dull tone and short answers which she could barely answer on her own. After his splint check I will be finding a new vet.

Fantastic experience: My regular vet recently retired and I had an injured cat on a Saturday and had no idea what to do. I called Walnut Grove and the sweetest person on the phone listened to my problem and said I could bring my cat right away as a walk in. I arrived about 1pm and only had to wait about 30 minutes before seeing Kevin and Dr. Hunt. Both were awesome and gave me so much useful information. Dr. Hunt examined Bruno then treated him, and he is on the mend now resting comfortably at home. Everyone was super friendly and treated both me and my cat with a lot of warmth which felt both personal and professional. I would highly recommend Walnut Grove and Dr. Hunt to any animal owner.

Fantastic experience: We love and are so thankful for WGAC! We have consistently received excellent care in the 13 years that we have been clients here, particularly with Dr. Slattery and Dr. Haynes. The grooming and daycare staff are incredibly caring and kind, too.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been taking my pets to WGAC since 1999 when I got my first Airedale Terrier puppy, and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. I’ve seen each of their doctors with one of my pets or one of my fosters over the years and I trust each one of them. The vets and the vet techs are professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly, caring individuals who understand how much your pets mean to you. I can recommend WGAC without reservations. Fantastic experience: WGAC was highly recommended and proved the recommendation valid. The clinic used to be convenient when I worked downtown. We have visited 5 different vets over the years trying to find good care closer to home: It’s no contest. From the staff, to the vet techs., to the docs, the facilities, and professional respect for our time at appointments, they are excellent any they are the best. We make the drive.

Negative experience: My dog has heartworm and they gave her a prevention shot telling me that's what she needed ever 8 months. Went to different vet to get the next shot and they told me that could of killed her because you can't give a dog with heartworm the shot. Very pissed off at you guys and wonder if you know what your even doing. This new vet gave us pills and topicals and shampoo for the same price you charged me for what could of killed her. No wonder my dog never got better. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Fantastic experience: The office was so clean and the staff were so sweet! They allowed my daughter to “help” and listen to our puppies hearts and feed them treats after their shots. Price was absolutely reasonable also! I felt so comfortable being a first time dog mom with WGAC. Cant wait till my two fur babies next check up!

Fantastic experience: Expensive but worth it. Have trusted my cat family to them for years, always take the proper amount of time and careful to explain my options. Worry about the people that cannot afford proper care for their animals though.

Negative experience: My dog was abused when they took him for a heart worm test. This is the only vet office that I have been to where you do not stay with your pet. They took him, caused a large laceration in his hind right leg and were unable to obtain his blood for testing. He was returned to me in exam room, when I noticed bleeding laceration. I went hall to request tech to return. They then suggested that the laceration was from previous. I had taken a photo of him in waiting room that captured his right leg intact. They then proceeded to tell me “manager” was reviewing video footage. Another tech came into room and told me that there was not enough staff at this hour to treat my dog and to take him home with anxiolytics and return in AM. I stated I would not be returning. A veterinarian is supposed to care for animals, not abuse them, then delay care. No one from office even bothered to contact me for follow-up to check on his well-being. Use caution with this clinic, only concerned with revenue! After I post, since it is negative , an AI comment will appear stating , “sorry, please call us…” The AI follow-up should state that the clinic follows up with the client! Another example that they are not concerned, it falls back on the client to call them! See waiting room photos, and photos after he was returned from trauma in exam room, and from today, 3 weeks out!

Fantastic experience: The caring friendly staff are the best. Each person we had contact with listened and made us and our cat feel important. We are from out of town and found ourselves in a bit of a dilemma, not an emergency. We could make a next day appointment easily. Our entire experience with this Clinic was positive. Nicholas Baer was our vet and he went above and beyond to make sure we had all of the information we needed.

Fantastic experience: My ESA is a cat. He's precious to me. So when I felt and saw owies I freaked out because my bank account doesn't match the love in my heart. But I took him in anyway and the staff was understanding about my financial situation. (Been homeless recently) Very appreciative of them taking care of Prince Beerus and not making me feel ashamed for not having the money to take care of it sooner.

Negative experience: A routine yearly examination. So my Schnauzer went to get his first yearly examination, and 24 hours later, I noticed his eyes were red…. I took him back to WHAC to be told he had blood vessels from stress of his yearly shots. I had just paid over 2hundred for his shots to get charged another 150.00 for something that you caused, I had no problem paying the fee, it’s just the fact the at you were the cause of it. I was really disappointed. This is the only vet my baby knows. Well, I will be taking him somewhere else.

Negative experience: Vet was nice but too pricey. My cat had a UTI and it was over $400 for a visit, even though they had told me $300, which was still high but manageable. I recommend shopping around. UPDATE: Cat had another flare up of her UTI. Called and asked if instead of coming in and having more lab work I could just get a refill of the medication since it worked last time. Girl who answered the phone took my information and promised a callback by the next day because the vet was out of the office that day. No one ever called me. That was over a week ago. This is either very lousy customer service or they weren't interested in helping me because I didn't want to throw hundreds more into their money pit for what was obviously the same issue. Either way, I won't ever return to this vet.

Fantastic experience: I brought a found kitten into the clinic, on a Friday afternoon, as a walk-in, and staff took SUCH good care of us. I am endlessly grateful that Armando didn't have to feel crummy all weekend. 10/10 experience - I will be moving all my animals to this clinic!

Fantastic experience: We take our German Shepherd Louie here and he sees Dr. Breland. Dr Breland is kind, compassionate and explains in great detail what's going on with your pet. The staff at the front desk are also very friendly. What I also like is the late hours they are open which makes it more convenient for you to bring your Fur baby in. The prices are a little pricey on some things but you get what you pay for!

Negative experience: They killed our healthy 2 yr.old cat.There is just no other way to say it. We took him there for a routine declawing and we didn’t see him alive again. Then they billed us.

Negative experience: They over charged me for apoquel. They charged for an old prescription that was not picked up They put the old scrip on the bill also. Make sure you check your bill.

Fantastic experience: I’m so thankful for the kindness of Walnut Grove vets! The pricing is extremely fair and there aren’t outrageous fees just to speak with a veterinarian. Dr. Sydney Hunt is a godsend for our aggressive dog who also has seizures. She explains everything in depth and takes time to help our dog acclimate by sitting on the floor with him! My dog has by far done the best behaviorally at walnut grove animal clinic!

Fantastic experience: If I could give 100 stars, I would. We absolutely love Dr Breland and the entire staff at WGAC. We have taken our furbabies there for over 15 years and have referred everyone we know. From front desk to vet techs to day care, we know without a doubt our mutts are getting the very best care, love and attention. Thank you for doing all you do for the Scholl Mutts!

Negative experience: I should have learned my lesson when one of the vets overdosed my cat by giving him 3x the amount of anesthesia he needed for a neutering procedure that this was not the place or the vets I should trust to care for my animals but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Everyone makes mistakes. I should have learned my lesson after none of the vets came to speak to me when I came to pick up my cat about the mistakes that were made during his procedure but still wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. But not anymore. On Monday, we had to put one of our cats down. I can only hope that she was unaware of the level of incompetence and insensitivity of those involved and most importantly not in any pain. From coming to ask for payment while we are in the middle of saying goodbye to our pet of 18 years to informing us about the discussions yall are having about the apparently much higher than average amount of medication it took for her to be put to sleep. None of it was okay. I am aware that treating older animals comes with its challenges but in these situations it’s something I would expect a trained veterinarian to be prepared for and not asking a technician how confident they are with using an iv catheter because the vet couldn’t do it. Then having multiple technicians attempting to do a job the veterinarian was not capable of. But I’ve learned my lesson now and will not be making this mistake again. I will not be bringing any of my animals here again.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Breland is a wonderful vet. She provides detailed information about your pet and treats them as her own. The facilities are very clean and the staff is friendly and caring. Can’t say enough positive things about this clinic.

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough good things about the team at WGAC. They make appointments easily accessible for my work hours since they have a vet there in the evenings as well as technicians for those brief visits. Their daycare is top notch and I appreciate that they post photos! The ladies who do the daycare and boarding are patient and so sweet. I rescued my second boy, TBone, from them 2 months ago and I needed a bit more handholding than I anticipated when acclimating the two together. They were patient and understanding when I felt like a crazy lady. Love them, and would recommend anyone to go there!

Fantastic experience: We have been here a few times with different kitties. The first two times were not under great circumstances, but the staff is absolutely amazing no matter what is being done. We weren't looking for a new vet, but we definitely found one.

Negative experience: Took my dog there a few days ago. Needed a heartworm test and a consult on a little growth on her foot. They took her out of the room, doctor came back with her about 3 minutes later. She told me about the surgery my dog needs, told me I have to bring her back every two days to rebandage her toe after the surgery, it's 87 dollars a visit! I told her that I would keep up with the bandage changes to which she said I wasn't qualified to do that. She doesn't know me, I'm qualified to apply a tourniquet on humans, I'm almost positive I can put a wrap on a dogs foot! They didn't do the heartworm test, got pissy when I asked how much the surgery cost, them charged me 90 bucks. They didn't even clean her toe, that was bleeding. When my wife called back to ask why there wasn't a heartworm test done or why they didn't clean her tow when they looked at it, the nurse, Hailey, got an attitude with my wife and told her it was my fault because I didn't ask for the test specifically and they didn't clean her toe because it wasn't bleeding anymore. The heartworm test was the reason we made the appointment in the first place, it was on the chart. We found a new vet, in Oakland, much nicer people. Nobody talked to me like I was an idiot. Also, the surgery is 400 dollars cheaper at the vet in Oakland! Right at 800 with a healthy dose of attitude at walnut Grove, or 400 dollars 30 minutes away with much nicer people. Guess which one I'm going with!

Fantastic experience: Been going here for years. Special note though: Saturday afternoon we found out our dog’s prescription “didn’t go through” to Kroger. Big thanks to vet tech Meredith for going above and beyond, outside work hours, to get our prescription filled and then to follow up with me. That kind of personal attention to pets’ needs is so important and very appreciated!

Fantastic experience: I found them to be thorough. They informed us that our dog was heartworm positive for over a year after reviewing the records from our previous vet. Our previous vet only tried to reach us twice by phone despite the fact that we have been in the office multiple times for other services and care.

Fantastic experience: The entire staff cares about the welfare of our pets. Vet services here -- and elsewhere, I'm sure -- have risen substantially; but I've never seen a sign that WGAC's vets intentionally load extra, unnecessary services onto my accounts. The vets also know their limitations, and will send out for specialist help when needed. This is a real Memphis asset.

Positive experience: Bucky is not a willing grooming customer! However. The staff was kind and very patient with him even though he was snappy. The sedative was definitely needed! He came home pretty groggy,but was fine next morning! Thanks so much!

Fantastic experience: The staff was super helpful, would definitely recommend their services. Our puppy swallowed a piece of fabric and needed to induce vomiting. Our vet had just closed their office so we needed someone after hours and they referred us to The Walnut Grove Animal Clinic. We called and they had one more walk in slot available, so we drove right on over. They took our baby back right away, they were very efficient and not as costly as we thought something like this would cost.
