Negative experience: let my dads baby boy die outside after my dad kept expressing how bad his dog needed to be seen. His dog died while waiting and this place didn’t care or show compassion after the dog passed away at their location. Evil people here!!!

Fantastic experience: The best prices and Butchko did a good job with my Dobermans ears. My pup got the medium ear crop at 13weeks old that’s the latest age they will crop. I recommend getting the crop done as soon as possible don’t wait like I did. Anyways I didn’t have to wait that long in line and my pup stayed the night, picked her up the next day. After her stitches are removed they showed me how to post my pups ears.

Negative experience: My family and I have been coming here for years but lately it hasn’t been the same. Yesterday I spent 8+ hours for a vet visit which is ridiculous to me. They don’t have a designated desk person so checking in takes a while too. The girl who I spoke with most of the time was so rude and dismissive. Prices have gone up here so it’s just not worth it anymore. On top of all of that, my dog got blood work done and now I’m trying to call and ask for results and no one is picking up. I have tried to call three times so far and no one picks up. Will not be returning unfortunately.

Negative experience: Showed up before 8am and waited in line to get checked in. Checked in when they opened and waited 2 hours without any indication on when a room would be open for our pup. Doctor who would perform spays didn’t show up til 10am. Vets also didn’t show up til 10am. The 1st lady in line waited 2 hours for progesterone for her pup. No clue as to how much longer it would take to be seen. So we left. Time from opening to them calling us: 2 hours, 10 minutes - just for nothing to be done And they are NOT the cheapest in the area. Our usual vet was 25% cheaper for spay including all meds and after care Don’t come here unless you have a full day to waste. Recommend anywhere else

Negative experience: Was here for a total of 8 hours. Maybe if you are taking a liter of pups you might save money, other words they are more expensive than others for X-rays and blood work. This is all based off my 10 pound Maltese. Here $265 X-rays $315 full panel blood work $35 office visit Dirk Butchko $145 X-rays as many as needed full panel blood $269 office visit $47 (will give prices over phone) Priceless Pets $145 X-rays $55 office visit We were quoted $2800 for her surgery then I said we are going to get another quote somewhere else and the doctor said well I can do $2500 if you do the blood work today. Ummm okay. Don’t waste your time unless it’s something they specialize in or again maybe for a liter of pups.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Butchko is the best. I brought my dog in here after taking her to Dr. Nicole Weinstein @ Arrow dog and cat hospital in Montclair and getting bad service with the wrong medication for my poor Frenchie when I brought her here the doctor took very good care of her. He was very compassionate and knew exactly what to do. I will never go anywhere else. the doctors and staff here took such good care of my dog. And Luckily, even though I got there at 11 AM, I was still out before two and my doggie was feeling better way to go Dr. Butchko and staff. The Dr keeps his patients Feeling comfortable prices, Affordable and does everything with a smile on his face. ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️

Fantastic experience: November 3rd 2025 We had an amazing awesome visit Dr. Butchko, is a very compassionate, hardworking and honest man like his father. It was very refreshing to see such integrity in a doctor. This is why he is so Popular and sought after by all his clients. He examined my dog and gave me his recommendations and he didn’t charge me for the visit and he said he didn’t do anything. And that he wasn’t charging me for the visit today. I was shocked, and very grateful. This doctor has real integrity and loves what he does and it shows.. Other veterinarians need to take a class from him, because as I shared with him on our visit There are so many veterinarians out there that just care about making money and increasing their prices. Fantastic experience: Dr. Butchko Senior and Dr. Butchko Junior are the best vets that our family has ever been to. My family has had dogs & cats for the last 70 years and my husband And daughter were small time, breeders, And came to This office for so many different things. Every single service was excellent! Surgeries always were so professional And one time, junior helped with our Yorkshire Terrier who broke her leg from a neighbor boy. He took so much time to care for her and do the surgery and she had to have a lot of follow backs because of broken leg takes a long time and he was so caring and took such good care of her. Cannot say enough things about how they are so caring And considerate of pets after all, they are part of the family! Don’t hesitate to bring your cat or your dog as they are the best! The wife of Dr. Butchko Senior Jr’s Mom also helps and is wonderful the pants also. Our Family has been coming here for 25 years and it’s worth the 2 Hour Drive! Not trust my pets with anybody else.

Fantastic experience: I've always heard about Dr. Butchco, but never took any of my pets there. I'm here to tell you they were fabulous. I was in a state of shock because my cats were so sick. They calmed me down without even knowing they did. They were very curious and helpful . I'm so grateful to the doctor and his staff for saving my cat and her only survivor, kitten. Fantastic experience: I'm only giving five stars because there's no place where you can check 100. Dr. Butchko goes above and beyond the call of duty. His office is run with efficiency in a timely fashion, his clients are given respect and their beloved pets are given the best care possible. His pricing is very reasonable. I would recommend him to everyone who owns a pet cuz he is in every way the best choice for vet services bar none.

Fantastic experience: Loved this place brought our Doberman here for ear crop. Dr Butchko definitely knows what he's doing. I see reviews of ppl complaining about how long they have to post their dogs ears, it depends on the dog every dog is different. Our pup required about 3 months of posting. Loved results will be coming back once we get our second doberman

Fantastic experience: Doctor Butchko is the greatest veterinary. If you have a pet that needs to be seen this is the only place to go. There maybe a wait to see him or Doctor C, but it's worth every minute.

Positive experience: This place is still a great resource for affordable pet care. The Dr. is kind and compassionate. I have never left thinking otherwise. The staff however can win a medal for not making eye contact. All the staff can parade by and amazingly enough not even knowledge you exist. Makes you wonder if are invisible. Not a " we super busy some one will help you eventually " Even to pay you have to wait 25 minutes. If are going to visit prepare to be there at least a couple of hours waiting regardless how simple your need. I take that back, there was an older Caucasian lady that came in while I was waiting that was acknowledged and waited on almost immediately. I'm not sure if it was because she showed up at the perfect time while there was someone at front desk, she's a regular or something else. I was there long enough to use the restroom which was .... clean ☺️. That's always a pleasant surprise. So come in with a book or fully charged phone, you could probably start or finish series, or catch up on any IG drama you haven't had time for, if you have a chill pet of course.

Negative experience: It’s unfortunate that the service here is so horrible for pet owners. There’s no acknowledgment for the staff leaving people in limbo unsure of where or how to check in. They have a dismissive attitude and dance on the line of unprofessionalism when talking about people and their pets in the back. I’ve worked in customer service all my life and a simple “hello, we’ll be right with you” can go a long way. Instead you have people confused and anxious waiting to be helped. You can feel the stress and tension of these people when you walk in.

Fantastic experience: The wait time it's crazy.. and seems longer when you get there with your sick pet.. but very good service after all ..I'll be coming back ...affordable price and people really nice

Negative experience: I use to bring my bulldog here 20 years ago. A lot has changed. No one sits at the front desk to check you in/out. You'd think it would be a lot smoother process having someone focused on even just checking out / taking payments. You have to wait so long to check in, so long to be see, and so long to pay. Needs better management. My main concern about my dogs behavior was pretty much dismissed. No labs or anything to be done cuz "they dont have time". So, this place is pretty much for breeding & surgeries.

Fantastic experience: Amazing vet, no appointment needed. First come first serve or in order of urgency/ priority! My English bulldog was born with him and has been coming to him since. Amazing doctor! Incredible pricing. Specializes in English bulldog and ear clipping best prices for vet car, shots, surgeries and more.

Positive experience: Walk ins take really long to process. Lined up at 8:15am. Finished at 11:30. Most of the time was waiting to be processed. Then waiting to administer the shot, then waiting to pay. Other than that, it was great. Everyone was used to the waiting so I guess it's normal.

Negative experience: This place has changed for the worse. Unless you're coming in to have your dog's ears painfully cropped, or you want to make money and have your dog's inseminated, or a million puppies delivered that the world does not need, don't waste your time. At no time will anyone else be seen on a "first come first serve basis". I was waiting from 7:30 am until 11:45 when I finally asked if my dog was still on the list. They said "well, we don't know if another doctor will come in or not, so we don't know how long it will be". I said they had told me the doctor would be in by 10. To which she replied, "oh Dr Butchko is here but he's doing surgeries". Seriously so disappointed in this place. They have taken care of 4 of my dog's. But it seems now, since I'm not breeding or cropping, I need to find a place that can actually see my dog. Sad to say, but don't waste your time

Negative experience: I brought my European Doberman here when he was about 10 weeks old for an ear crop. Dr. Butchko charged us $500, and we asked for a short show crop. Unfortunately, the experience has been frustrating. We’ve been posting his ears nonstop for over 8 months, and they still haven’t stood up properly. The shape also didn’t turn out how we asked. I’m now looking into PermaStay ear implants as a last resort—something I never thought I’d have to do. The clinic itself felt unclean, disorganized, and smelled stale(like if the palce had no t been cleaned in quite some time). It didn’t feel like a professional medical environment, which made me second-guess things. I should have trusted my gut and when somewhere else. Instead I did it because it was more cost efficient. I personally would not recommend this place for ear cropping. If you’re considering doing this for your Doberman, I’d suggest looking into Dr. Jezbera in Riverside instead. I’ve heard better feedback and wish I had gone there from the beginning.

Negative experience: I use to LOVE this vet office. Not like it use to be. They insisted doing a parvo shot even though no symptoms. They would not help me unless he was negative. 3 hrs later they finally tested. 2 hrs after I asked on results and he was negative. They put me on back of the list so had to wait longer. (Painful parvo test took them 3 tries) Last yr came with a different dog and got positive on parvo with no symptoms, Sold me meds got out with over $300 bill with false test. Had a second opinion and no Parvo. He's elsewhere was negative. My dog was better after 2 days with new meds. Only reason I went back is because have been going and recommending friends and family here for over 30 yrs. Now I am second guessing this place. I only trust Steven Butchko.

Negative experience: Wish I could give a zero! How is this place open for business? Customer service is definitely a 0. The arrogance to make people wait 4-7 hrs to see a Vet, and all the employees or volunteers seem to be on break at all times. This place is a dump, and the girl who checked me in should find a different career - she looked miserable and it showed with her very poor customer service. Please think twice about taking your animal here!!!

Positive experience: We have been bringing our dogs here for many years and the prices are always great. The only issues we have had are with the two women who stand at the front desk checking people in, they are very rude and disrespectful and treat people like garbage. They disrespected my dad a week ago for a simple question he asked. All the other staff are kind and respectful, except for the two women.

Negative experience: I’ve been bringing my dogs here for a couple years….recently they’ve gone screaming downhill in terms of well…everything. They don’t answer the phone. Period. I’ve called 6 times in three weeks, haven’t spoken to a soul. Showed up in person at 8 AM…vet not going to show up till 10 am at the earliest…literally just been trying to get my poor pup a cytopoint injection…..going on a month now because butchko can’t even be bothered to pick up the damn phone.

Negative experience: I’m heartbroken and incredibly disappointed with this place. After waiting over 6 hours, my dog was finally seen, only to be met with a doctor who was completely dismissive and lacked any real concern. The staff was rude, not just to me, but to other pet owners as well. It was clear that compassion is not a priority here, only money. Tragically, my dog passed away shortly after we got home. I wouldn’t recommend this clinic to anyone who truly cares about their pet.

Negative experience: Came in with my dog and got on the list and they told me that my dog would be seen. After an hour of waiting someone came to me and told me sorry we are too busy and we can’t see your dog today. I tried to talk to the office manager and they would not help even though I was told when I first arrived that my dog would be seen. This place has horrible customer service! I am not sure how they are still in business with total disregard for customer service. Also, no one ever answers their phone. I would recommend going to another vet that actually cares about their customers/clients.

Fantastic experience: Only 495, the staff was insanely nice and everything went smoothly I have 0 complaints my boy looks great already I’m excited to keep posting and see the final product in a couple months.

Negative experience: Stop there to inquire about having my sweet little cat Peter cremated, walked in to a crowded waiting room with people waiting in line with their sweet pets, who they love, and the place looks like a bomb went off and smelled like a barnyard with one lady running around with a clipboard and nobody being helped, disgusting!!! By the way, the phone number isn't good either, some whack recording that isn't for pet service!!! Went to Jurupa valley animal hospital and the price was excellent the place smelled like a sanitized office, spotless! The girls at the front desk were outstanding, compassionate and so helpful!

Positive experience: I have been going to Dr Butchko since when his dad was the main vet. They were always busy and the front office people used to be nice and Courteous. These last few visits have been the opposite. I had my dog spayed & when I went to pick her up I sat at the counter for 15 mins, 2 young gals walked past me numerous times and didn’t ask me if I have been helped or will be with you soon. Nothing. I finally interrupted the same girl who walked past me twice and started putting patient folders away. Yes the prices are good and they do not gouge you with extra fees but we are still paying customers. A little acknowledgment & respect would be nice. I think this is it for me. I don’t drive as far as I used to but this blatant disrespect is it. I’ll pay extra for customer service.

Fantastic experience: Been going here for over 20 years. Had Yorkers ears and tail cropped, had hip replacement for cat, leg removed for a cat, bladder stones removed for another Yorkie, anal gland expressions , vaccines and medicines… they are still the cheapest and the most knowledgeable… along as you’re okay with the wait… for us the price difference is always worth it

They don't answer the phone I probably called them 10 times in the last 2 hours no answer. There's no email either. Fantastic experience: I have been coming to doctor buthcko for the last 15 years I take my Boxer pups for tail dock, dewclaw and their initial checkups and I can say without a doubt great place to take your pets, knowledgeable, polite in every way including your bank account.

Positive experience: They do great work for your pet but mine was there all day . They said they would be done about 4 or 5 but no didnot even get to my pet till 4. Well still was waiting for another 2 hrs. They need more time management and more vets.

Fantastic experience: He couldn't figure out what was wrong with my dog, but you should get there way before they open. And there's always a long line first. Come first serve, but he didn't charge my husband which was very nice. Most companies don't do that.They still charge you even if they see him my dog blew his back to normal with some home remedies that a cousin recommended, and it's working great.

Fantastic experience: I went for an area crop for my doberman and got quoted $495, it’s cash only. Dr. Butchko comes in and examines your dog, then asks for a picture of a crop you like and that’s what he bases the cut off of. They perform the surgery one day and keep the dog overnight, once you pick up your pup they give you medicine for pain and tell you to return in 10-12 days to remove the stitches, medicine is included as well as a cone but you can purchase a donut cone for more active pups for an additional $20. Every 3-7 days after getting stitches removed you do have to repost but they provide free postings for 3 weeks after surgery, after that it’s $45 for each one. They also teach you how to post their ears by yourself. Overall the crop came out really nice and service is pretty good, it’s only like a 1-2 hour wait to get attended by Butchko himself.

Positive experience: I’ve been coming here for several years and I’ve always appreciated the kindness of the doctors and the affordability they provide. However, I’ve noticed a sharp decline in the customer service in my last 2 visits. The employees checking people in (one lady in particular) have been rude and condescending. The woman sitting at the door ushering people in was rude to not only the customers, but also her staff. It honestly made me uncomfortable to watch the interactions.

Negative experience: Waited 3 and a half hours to seen which isn't too bad if the place wasn't falling apart. It looks like a crack house. It smells like piss, the paint on the wall is coming off, the furniture is disgusting and old. The staff all stand around talking while you're waiting urgently for your pet. After waiting 3 hours to be seen I had to wait 30 minutes to check out even though I had my cat with me, all I needed was to get my meds, pay and leave. Please go anywhere else if your pet is going through a life threatening situation. I went on a Friday and was told that lab results would be in on Monday. I haven't received a call and I've been waiting on hold for 20 minutes. They don't answer their phones. Do not go here they aren't that affordable on top of everything.

Fantastic experience: Had my chiweeni break a dewclaw, fair price for the removal and meds I had to bring home. After dropping her off she was available for pickup after an hour and a half. She's healing well and doing great! (my male Shepsky has also been a patient here for an infected laceration between his paw pads back in April, also a great experience, full recovery, great treatment and meds given)

Negative experience: Take way too damn long & the employees are just hanging around like it's a social hangout with each other... & We keep telling them EVERY SINGLE TIME our dogs are due for their shots to NOT I repeat NOT to give them the bordetella ... I don't know how they can be so deaf & how difficult it is to understand. They STILL give our dogs the bordetella... If something happens to our dogs because you guys refuse to listen to simple instructions...just know it won't go unnoticed... we seriously gotta stop coming here. Ridiculous this place is.

Fantastic experience: Great experience getting two kittens spayed and neutered. About $160 for only the surgery (per cat), but I opted to do labs before and IV fluids, ended up being a little over $200 per cat. Arrived on a weekday around 7:20 and was 3rd in line, got checked in right at 8 and left around 8:45. Picked up kittens around 4:30, got their antibiotics and all my questions answered. 2 weeks later I took them back to get the girl’s sutures out, and to get the boy’s incision site checked out because I’m an anxious person. Showed up around 7:40, checked in at 8 and told to wait in my car until I was called around 9:30. Took 5 min to get sutures out and the boy assessed, once again everybody was pleasant and answered all my concerns! Overall a great experience here, knowledgeable and friendly staff, my kittens were well taken care of and I’d absolutely come back in the future!

Fantastic experience: I wanted to thank Dr. Butchko, Amanda, Dr. Caliolio and Vanessa (Staff) for taking such great care of my giant furry friend Kia. She means the world to me!!! Kia became really sick suddenly. it was literally from one day to the next. I brought her to Dr. Butchko's clinic and and check her in. I took Kia out to the parking lot for some fresh air. Moments later Kia collapsed and it just so happened that Amanda was driving in and saw what happened. She immediately called Dr Butchko for help and the staff promptly arrived to assist us. They pick Kia up and took her inside for treatment right away! Kia spent Two nights at the clinic. The treatments worked quickly and I could see how each day Kia was getting better. Dr. Butchko and Dr. Caliolio are amazing! I am so grateful that they have the experience and knowledge that they have. I can see that they genuinely care about their patients. Dr. Caliolio kept me informed every step of the way. He even called me to ask me to come down to see If I could get Kia to eat as she was not eating when they tried to feed her. Dr Caliolio made the time to see me and answer any questions I had. Vanessa was always so kind and sweet. Thanks for letting me bug you so much as I kept calling to check on Kia. It is really nice that the staff was so friendly and helpful!!! I really appreciate all of you!!! The guys that came out to the parking lot Thank you too!. I did not catch your names but I appreciate the help that you gave us. Thankyou Amanda for getting us the assistance so quickly! It is because of this kind of service, dedication mixed in with the honesty and being genuine that I can see why so many people from far and near come to this clinic for their furry friends. I want to share the before and after pictures of Kia. She looked so sad and in pain when I dropped her off it broke my heart. But when I picked her up she was smiling again!!! Negative experience: This office labeled my dog as aggressive for no reason. I have 2 cane corsos that are gentle giants. So loving and sweet but every time I bring them here the front staff is always trying to talk me out of what ever procedure we’re there for. Their excuse is always their size. And they never say anything about their size until after we’ve had them do any lab work

Negative experience: Warning, Don’t take your dogs there you will be waiting for over 2 hour and more. Were just there and we they had us wait in our car, they said for 30 minutes that 30 minutes to 1 and half hour. And still no call for our dogs to be seen. My dogs we’re thirsty and panting. They have mo were to provide water in veterinarian office. We decided to go home without being seen. I kept on going back in and they kept on saying they don’t know much longer. Hmmmm right? I decided to take my dogs home since they were thirsty and a little warm. They finally called me after another 1 hour later when I was home. Good luck. Make sure you bring plenty of water and dog food. They are not cheap price. It’s the same price as Vetco and other vets. The building is run down. You will regret it.

Fantastic experience: Thank you, to the genuinely kind staff. We had to say goodbye to our Chloie 8 1/2 Bullmastiff Saturday due to a very fast liver failure. You take such care of our fur babbies from puppy to senior & their people too. The Romero's ❤️

Negative experience: I have been going here for years. I feel like they used to really care for the animals. Now they are so busy and over worked that everything is just too far gone. They have a new building that they can't/ won't use for whatever reason. They don't have enough staff for the amount of people that come to see them. You can't get anyone on the phone to answer any type of questions. Plus you cant get a straight answer about wait times or price. The only thing staff tells you is "there was an emergency" or " the vet has to see your dog" or "there are still people in front of you and you have to wait". You cant get a ball park estimate or anything. They are affordable so that is why they are so busy. While I was waiting to be seen by the vet-tech, not even the vet, a man with dog had checked in at 930am, and it was 2pm and he had not been seen and still had the same amount of people in front of him. His poor dog looked like something was seriously wrong with it and only after he showed then the dog did it become urgent to the staff. It breaks my heart to see how low this place has fallen. Our animals are mean alot to us and hard to take them to place where you are going to sit all day and just get frustrated. This place is right down the street from me, but I have another vet that I go to that I pay a little more, but I do not waste my whole day and the the staff is not over worked and I get straight forward answers when I call, they pick up the phone and I can make an appointment with them.

Fantastic experience: This place is amazing!! They aren't just trying to get money out of you. They are really good at caring for the animals and have a clean facility!... better be here before they open if you want to get seen though

Negative experience: I looked online to see a beautiful building. Showed up from a6hr drive (Arizona) to see broken windows and plywood with spray paint over them, ceiling falling apart and split, smell of urine so strong, the veneer around the counter was peeling and curled up from probably dog urine! No way I was leaving my dogs there. Staff looked unkept. They all looked homeless. No a/c...I put My 3 puppies back in the truck and drove right home. I'm not even kidding about any of this. My local vet recommended them so I called them asking if they'd even been to this place and should be ashamed they even recommend them. I'm never using that vet again either. Wickenburg Vet. Dr. Butchkos office looks worse than a third world hospital. Look at a Google street view. Just to the right of the"nice" building is where you'll be going. Good luck

Positive experience: There is no point in getting here super early when they don't open on time and people that got her way before you gets called in before you do. Prepare to be waiting for hours to be seen. But the doctors are great.

Positive experience: I was referred by my breeder to have my new dobienpup’s ears crop. Butchko is known to specialize in ear cropping. To learn how to navigate his services can be daunting! His overwhelming popularity and knowledge puts him at the forefront of his specialities. One being cropping! Plan on being patient in making multiple calls each days for days on end. It took me five days of trying to book an ear cropping appointment. On the day of, I arrived earlier than opening to find a line outside the door. After all the sequential orders of how mama Butchko runs the office is quite impressive. After dropping off my pup for an overnight post surgical visit, I left the clinic at 1:00 pm. Yes, half a day wait time for a 9:00 am appointment. Post surgery suture removal and posting ears are always walk-in basis. Literally, it took 5 hrs before our pup was seen by the technician. Arrived at 1:40 pm. In a dedicated room by 5:30 pm & was not seen til 6:40pm. Warning, It’s an all day kind of an affair, plus 1.5 hrs drive each way. For exceptional vetinarian care speciality service, I would drive and deal with the wait time, a small inconvenience for reassurance that my fur baby is in the best care with Butchko and staff for cropping. Other services, I do drive another hour to see regular vet in Monrovia.

Negative experience: Pros: affordable, caring, skilled very good. Cons: Don’t waste your day, it’s will be a long wait or you will be forgotten about. If you value time find another vet. I waited 3x more than 8hours just to save a few dollars. Never going back.

Negative experience: I always went to this vet but recently I went and the staff is all new people..the doctor took forever to arrive and I waited 6 hrs to even see him! There is a old lady who is super rude and wants to know everything at all times she needs to learn to be nicer to her employees..! Dr.butchko needs to learn to be at his job when needed also. All their old staff is now working at SoCal 9 even the vet (she’s a woman) is working in Riverside. So I will only be going there from now on. Faster and better

Positive experience: It's been a while since I've been there. Things have changed as to how they check you in. The guy that saw me at the counter was rude and didn't explain the new process. He just said we don't check in like that just have a seat. So I did but he didn't say where. I sat in the first seat I saw open which was the wrong area. He saw me sit and didn't correct me. Another patron explained where I should be. Others that came in after me he gave a full explanation as to how the process of checking in is. They were the same color skin as him. He should not be working the counter.

Negative experience: Butchko gave me a mix of drugs that closed hi throat within a week of my visit for a skin rash. Then he died. You can’t even reach butchko by phone because they don’t take phone calls

Negative experience: WOW!!! I can't even talk to a live person anymore. All I wanted was to speak to someone about services I would like for my dogs first visit. Wasted 15 minutes on the phone just pushing buttons and listening to garbage just to try and speak to a live person. Sad to see this facility go to such a wasteland!

Fantastic experience: We drive 1.5 hours from Oceanside to see this vet. Quality care for at-cost prices. First come first serve, line starts at 7am, they check you in, and when Vets arrive 10am, they prioritize based on severity and checkin time. Open Saturday - Not an emergency vet -ICU

Negative experience: Trash service. If you’re going to tell me to wait in my car i would expect the wait would time would at least be an hour or 2 not 6+ hours. They even call in people who come in after you w/o an appointment. Came in at 11 and its already passed 5:30 and still no call. At least let me know you’re gonna make me wait for this long. What an absolute waste of time. Place looks disgusting as well.

Fantastic experience: Best vet office around, decently priced and cares, just be aware that there is a wait. Show up early as possible to get in line and expect to wait awhile if you have vet needs that the techs can't handle. Worth the wait.

Negative experience: They can't tell you how much it cost to spay a cat over the phone. They want you to come in to get the price. So for anybody that needs to know how much they charge to spay a cat, it's $150. I'm sure this is a really good doctor. I've heard a lot of good things about them, but for them too surprise you with what it costs once you get there rather than just tell you over the phone. It's almost like a scam to me because you have done loaded up your animals up brought them all the way out there an hour drive and you might as well go through with the procedure since you done spent all that time to go out there. You guys should be more up front than wasting people's time to drive an hour to your shop to get a price

Fantastic experience: We appreciate the attention and care we receive for our fur babies every time we've come. Most recently, our puppy needed surgery and because we had her fast before going in, she was able to have surgery the same day. The surgery was affordable, and they provided her with excellent care.

Negative experience: The worst vet I ever been to and I been to many. Waiting hours of 6+ minimum. And they will still take in people before you with out them having an appointment. And the place is disgusting idk how they pass inspection. Absolutely not safe for you fur babies especially with these deadly diseases going around. I also seen the worst ear crops on dogs in my life in that vet and they didn’t fully put my brothers poor pup to sleep when they cut them:( and they still came out horrible Do yourself and your fur baby a favor and go to another vet.

Fantastic experience: I was told to go to Dr. Michael Butchko from two different veterinarians when my French bulldog developed breathing problems. Dr. Butchko is a specialist when it comes to bulldogs, but there were a variety of dogs and cats getting care at his facility. I drove 60 miles and lined up at the old building, not his new building. Dr. Butchko knew almost everything about my dog before I told him. He knew he had allergies, flakey itchy skin, breathing problems, etc. He did not recommend BOAS surgery, and told me that soon my puppy will learn to breathe out of his mouth when he sleeps. He advised me to get allergies medicine that has helped. Most vets I know would have taken x-rays, labs, scheduled a surgery for a future visit, overnight stay, $$$$, etc. Not Dr. Butchko. He said he would do the surgery for Paddy, if I wanted it, but he said he didn’t think it was urgent or necessary right now. I have never encountered a vet that cared about my dog, not the bottom line. The staff was professional and helpful. The old facility needs some work, but Paddy didn’t care, all he wanted was a good doctor to help him and that’s what Dr. Butchko did. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Amazing service with very knowledgeable staff. I have ZERO complaints here. The wait times are worth not having to make appointments. Just be prepared to make a day of it, go comfy, Go early to Check in. Get same day services, same day minor surgeries included! Medications available as well. Definitely taking all of my fur babies back for future visits and check ups.

Fantastic experience: First and foremost thank you Dr. Butchko for going above and beyond to help your furry friends parents! Today your office staff, Tammy and Zach were great! Tammy showed compassion even with the amount of furry friends you guys have to attend to in that office. Tammy was able to help me not only through my tears, when it came to the wrapping of my Dobermans Ears being a little botched by my lovely husband, but she assured me that my big man Oso was going to be just fine. She went above and beyond to double check with the doctor and put me and my family at Ease! my big man Oso was going to be fine. I know the signs to look for now in case the ear doesn’t hold up after a tight wrap that was accidental on one of the ears . I highly recommend for those that are closer to their Riverside office to go get your furry friends ears wrapped by the technicians.!!! In my case we are 1 hour and 35 minutes away. So I definitely had too and did master the wrapping. And Dr. Butchko I took your advice.. Duly noted. I won’t kill my lovely husband.

Negative experience: I'm only mentioning spay services: sorry to complain, but last Saturday brought male cat to be neutered and was told there was not enough staff and we were told we can come back today. Got there and after waiting, they said they could not nueter our kitten for the same reason and nothing could be done about it. Not fair for our time and our cat that doesn't like the car. We would of went somewhere else if we were told by staff the correct info last week in person. Felt like no empathy and if they really cared about our cat and the situation, they would of made time for the procedure. The person at the desk last week that told us, didn't seem to be there today. Seems like I'm not the only one affected by their poor communication. We tried our best to get their help and will be going elsewhere cause there is no probability of what to expect and no phone number

Fantastic experience: My baby kobe wasn't feeling good with a swollen eye , Dr. Seen him and fixed him up good. Super happy with the service they gave my dog . Will recommend to friends & family .

Negative experience: While pricing is generally good, lack of appointments( walk in only), and short staffing make visits much longer than they should be for general visits. I had my bulldog neutered there a few months ago, and was told on pick up that he wouldn’t need a cone or donut, as bulldogs “can’t reach “. A week later, he managed to undo his glue and stitches, leaving a huge open wound. Butchko’s office was closed that day, forcing me to take him to an emergency vet which was hugely expensive ( I have not attempted to litigate this with them). I cannot blame the office for being closed, but I do blame them for not educating their staff.

Fantastic experience: Been coming here for years. The staff is always really friendly and super nice. Though with an increasing number of people in the area, it is worthwhile to note that on busy days and times, you may wait quite a long while to receive service. That being said, the staff always does their best and is really caring. I definitely recommend them.

Fantastic experience: I'm a person that like straight forward honest communication. Dr.Butchko himself helped me with the diagnosis for my English bulldog Bentley. There are no appointments. It's first come, first served. I waited 5 hours to get seen. It was an unusually busy day for them Would I do it again absolutely. A special thanks to the kind young vet tech who helped me get Bentley in my truck for his ride home. Your kindness and understanding.....priceless.

Fantastic experience: Bob had an abscess on her lip/chin/cheek, they cleaned it out and she was back home in few hours. She is doing much better now, back to her own self. D.H took her in and he liked the staff, said they were friendly and Bob wasn't to upset while there.

Negative experience: Worse service ever. Will not be returning. I will try the Vet on Etiwanda. The dr. that helped me on Monday and his assistants were a nightmare . They also almost forget my meds and were incorrect. The female dr. is now gone I wish I knew where she went. Luckily I knew what my dog takes for her ears etc. Truly sad I hope they get it together!

Fantastic experience: My son took his puppy there years ago and he had parvo and doctor butchco ended up saving the pup's life I would recommend him to anybody. My sister-in-law takes their dog to him. Everybody that I know what but a wonderful doctor and the team that works for him.

Negative experience: I have my usual vet that I highly recommend. However, he does not perform ear cropping surgery so I had to find somewhere and only Butchko was found to perform in the IE out of all the vets called, including his brother in Jurupa. My GS breeder suggested this place 20 years ago and I hated the service then - long wait times and no consideration for your time plus rude employees. Guess what!! Different vet (son) and still SAME practice!! Instead of only a vet license maybe should have minored in business too? Yesterday, the lady running the operation is an inexperienced manager of any business. She spoke rudely to the employees in front of clients; no wonder staff are rude to clients! An employer who does not care about employees, employees do not care about clients - first chapter in a business textbook!! What happened: scheduled appt for ear cropping. Told to be in line at 7AM. Arrive at 6:45 and people are waiting who were also told same time for ear cropping appointment . We are all highly P*&SSed by 8:00 as the doors still not open. Doors open at 8:15 slowly check in. Its not a drop off!! It's a wait for vet when he feels like meeting with you for 5 minutes to ask what cut you want (really?!?!!). I left at 11:45. Today, husband waited 2 hours before he was provided medication and our puppy back because vet would not give prescription order until he was ready! Hmmm my vet provides all that info to the receptionist so when I pick up my dogs/cats, it a grad and go respecting my time. This place is a JOKE! Suggest if you want respectful service for a vet and staff who are considerate of your time, go somewhere else and pay a little extra if you feel your time is worth it. FYI - read some 5 star reviews. Trying to give props to service of friendly staff and etc but no real play by play experience of what happened.Dead give away of a fake review.

Negative experience: They declined ear cropping because my pup would be to old for the day of the surgery by 2 day, and they only had 3 weeks from today. So I'm guessing there so many people that gets turned down because of that. Asked if the doc would take in consideration because it's only 2 days after turning 12 weeks and she said she wouldn't waste her time because she knows the doc well and she didnt want to bother him! I'm sure other employees are nice and all but the one that "helped" me this morning was just rude and no interest in helping at all

Fantastic experience: I was recommended by a good friend I usually always tend to google everything and let me tell you I’m not disappointed at all it’s so worth the wait (keep in mind waiting time can be up to 5hrs) yes 5 hours there’s people waiting since 6:15am and it doesn’t open until 8:00am !!! Dr has the best positive attitude he answers all your questions regardless all the patients he has seen he doesn’t rush you out …. Definitely will be taking my baby girl back, and let’s not talk about pricing omg his pricing is amazing very reasonable pricing that’s another plus trust me you won’t be disappointed it’s so dam worth the wait

Negative experience: The Good: The doctor and staff were friendly. My dog’s ear cropping went smoothly. The bad: they have lines all day like you’re waiting on black Friday for a TV. I have no idea who would come here for anything other than ear cropping? You save a few bucks at what cost? Hours of your time. It took around 2+ hours for drop off (with a “scheduled appt.”) , 2 hours for pick up. And , now I’m dreading going back for the postings. Finding a local ear cropper was difficult , so i chose this place 70 miles away. I just dont know why they prefer this method of chaos than actual appts. And, it concerns me that the phone is impossible to get through on. I would only suggest coming here for rare procedures.

Fantastic experience: I'm so blessed to live close to this Vet clinic. I can't say enough about the staff, the love they show for each and every pet and owner. Prices are affordable and they understand and they truly appreciate their clients. Five approval!

Fantastic experience: Dr butchko helped save my doggie and lots of money , I was being robbed by other vets for simple doggie ear cleanings some times paying $700 for a service and medication. We waited in the parking lot almost 4 hours to be seen but it was worth it. His team and staff quickly determined my doggie had allergies and would need regular cleaning for the ears to get better , he showed me how to do it without distressing my dog so I wouldn’t have to keep coming back. He was very affordable and I think a total of $40 for the cleaning and medication.

Negative experience: I called yesterday to make an appointment I was informed as long as the puppy is 9-14 weeks it’s ok. Today I called to schedule the appointment and we were informed that they recommend it up to 12 weeks. They keep changing their information, the lady that answered was so rude, she hung up on me and I tried calling to talk to them again they don’t answer me anymore. Workers like that make the Doctor look bad and very unprofessional. Don’t work in customer service if you’re going to have an attitude or can’t handle situations well.

Fantastic experience: There is one thing you know going in when you visit Dr Butchko. You will have to wait a while and it is worth it. I have been coming here for many years. All the dogs I've had since I've moved out here have been cared for by the Butchko doctors. When I first heard about them I couldn't believe how far people were willing to travel just to bring their pets here. I got it! They are just very good at what they do. They have really gotten me through some tough times when faced with hard decision have to be made. Very compassionate.
