Fantastic experience: I called as soon as they opened because my dog injured his nail and they were able to fit me in an hour later. The vet tech, Adriana, was friendly, professional, and thorough. The vet, Dr. Kish, was also fantastic. We were in and out of office with the problem fixed in less than an hour despite the last minute appointment. The prices are reasonable and the staff are very upfront about them. Very grateful to have such a friendly, reliable vet office.

Fantastic experience: We have been taking our 15 year old cat to Special Friends for at least 9-10 years. We always get treated well. Sometimes there are certain recommendations we have to think about doing. Mostly our cat is healthy.. We now take our 3 year old dog there as well and so far so good. We did have special friends help us put our cat Dusty an orange/tan tabby cat. He was special. They treated us with compassion and comfort when we put our cat to sleep for the last time.

Fantastic experience: I love this place! They always show extra care to my 2 cats and dog. They showed such compassion when I had to put one of my cats down. It was a rough time but a great experience. They truly care!

Negative experience: I was driving on Airport Blvd, heading south from East 6th Ave Saturday, July 26, 2025 around 5:50-6:10am. Right in front of the Veterinary Clinic, I saw a dead gray cat lying in the middle of the road. It looked like a medium-sized cat that got run over by a car. People kept driving by like they didn’t care. I stopped my car and gently moved the cat to a small tree and flower area near the entrance of the Veterinary Clinic. As I walked back to my car, I saw another cat nearby. The cat was alive and watching me. I think it knew the cat that died and wanted to help but was too scared. This made me sad. The Veterinary Clinic doesn’t have any good fences or gates to keep pets safe. Their gate is really wide, and even a skinny person or teenager could walk through it from the street. I wanted to call the clinic to tell them what I saw but they were closed. I was going to call back later but I got busy with work. I remembered to call after 3pm, but when I called, they were already closed for the weekend. They won’t open again until Monday. Still, I think they need to do a better job keeping pets safe. This doesn’t look good for them. UPDATED REVIEW – With Photo Proof on July 30, 2025: ⭐☆☆☆☆ I’m deeply disappointed by this clinic’s response to a serious situation. A medium-sized gray cat was killed on the road right in front of their building on Saturday, July 26, 2025 earlier in the morning hours. I stopped, picked up the cat, and gently placed them by the bushes and flower area at the entrance. You can clearly see this in the attached photos — the cat, the clinic sign, and the building itself. I returned on Monday morning, July 28th, and the cat was still there, untouched. It wasn’t removed until later that evening. I don’t know if the poor thing even got a proper burial. Instead of taking responsibility, the hospital manager, Brittany, replied claiming I had the wrong location and that they don’t have bushes or a gate. But the photos prove otherwise — everything is right there: the flower area, the wide open gate, the sign that reads “No act of kindness is ever wasted.” Sadly, they didn’t live up to that message. This wasn’t just about a dead cat. It was about how a veterinary clinic — a place meant to care for non-human friends, ignored it and then tried to deflect blame. That’s not okay. Living beings/fur babies deserve better. And so do the people who care about them. — Arjy

Fantastic experience: They have been helping with our Old 15 .5 year Husky. She had a UTI in May they provided meds. Hanna got better would eat and had spring in her step. We noticed she went back to sleeping and not wanting to eat again. Call requested a Second script for the UTI. No bringing her in no testing...Great!! Havana has been on it a week now and she in back to eating not sleeping all day. It's wonderful. Thanks Doc.

Every single person there goes above and beyond. They know you by name, they get to know your pet, and they truly show how much they love to help animals.

Fantastic experience: Bailey is a miniature Schnauzwr. He recently got sick with serious gastrointestinal problems. One of their excellent doctors ran in-house tests and quickly determined what the problem was. She developed a comprehensive treatment plan and he is doing great after only 2 days at home. We were out of the country so it was such a relief to have all his medical records available in-house and their excellent skills. I am so relieved he got the help he needed before he got even sicker.

They truly have a passion for helping animals! I have already recommended Special Friends to my neighbors.

Fantastic experience: Everyone was amazing! For 9 years I have been told the only way to groom my dog was to do it while he was completely under for his dental cleaning. They did an even better job with him awake than what I get when he gets a medical groom at his usual place. They even recorded a video showing me how relaxed he was while being combed which is unheard of for my little guy.

Fantastic experience: I have been with them almost 3-4 years minus the year and a 1/2 that I went out of town but they have always taken care of my my my pets.

Negative experience: I initially left a 5 star rating, but I'm editing my review to remove some stars. I had been taking my dog here for about a year since moving to the area, and everything was good. Staff was nice and helpful. Then, my dog started having seizures out of nowhere. I brought him in to have him evaluated and treated. While waiting in the exam room for the doctor to come in, he started having a grand mal seizure in my arms. By the time the doctor came in, he was already coming out of it but she still saw what happened. Even after witnessing the seizure, she refused treatment. She didn't do any blood work or any tests at all. Nothing. She just told me to take him to the ER and that she couldn't prescribe any medicine for him because it's a small, private clinic. .....what? If you're a doctor....why can't you prescribe meds? I left and immediately started calling other clinics to see if anyone could see him on such short notice. Luckily, I found another vet who did see us, ran tests on my dog, and actually gave us seizure medication. This new vet potentially saved my dog's life! Not everyone can afford $2000-$5000 to leave their pet overnight in an emergency clinic, and to completely refuse treatment like that is... negligent. I was so disappointed that this happened. I had really good experiences with Special Friends prior to this but I will absolutely not be returning after what happened. They may be good for minor issues, vaccines, things like that... But for anything more serious, I would really advise you to take your pets somewhere else.

Our family is moving out of state and we will miss having such a great, trusted vet clinic.

Negative experience: My elderly dog of 17 year old dog was having severe itching of his nose after he’s teeth were pulled at a different clinic. I took him in to special friends vet and their veterinary said oh thats normal and there’s nothing to do for that. No examination was done on his nose. Come to find out there is something that can be done for this. I called special friends back to tell them what their veterinarian had done and that I did my own research and found that there is treatment and that I want my dog examined again at no charge. They agreed to have him examined again at no charge and said they would call me back to set an appointment. Waited the next day for a call and never heard back from them. Instead of waiting on them another day and my dog suffering, I called a different veterinarian clinic to see my dog and explained what had happened and they said that’s odd that no treatment was started for this. I recommended not taking your pets to special friends. They don’t care about pets and clearly proved it.

Fantastic experience: Unfortunately, I had to euthanize my cat after a battle with lymphoma. Special friends veterinary clinic was very caring and professional, and they gave me as much time as I needed to say goodbye to my kitty and are very compassionate and Caring. The company they use for cremation and ashes did a very nice job as well. I would definitely recommend these guys For end of life services. They did a great job.

The surgery must have been very difficult and now you can not even tell she had surgery because it was done so well. She must be a world class surgeon! He's a very loud barker, and also a big guy…when I come in (as loud as he is) I do not get one bad look or attitude from a single person, and they put him in a room right away to avoid any unnecessary stress for us or anyone else. Fantastic experience: Special Friends Vet is a great place for all your dog's health and grooming needs. My Frannie has some health issues and the vet staff is very caring and effective. The grooming staff always sends Frannie back to me looking great!

Positive experience: For extremely bad news the vet we saw was so kind as was the vet tech. They gave us prescription medication to keep my boy comfortable until he passes. I highly recommend them. Payment is due on the day of service so be prepared for about $500 if you want put your euthanasia and cremation.

They treat Lucy so well whenever we are there! Would recommend to anyone looking for a vet in Aurora. We just moved and are still planning to make the trip out because we love them so much!

However, every visit we have been treated very professionally and warm. Fantastic experience: I've written reviews for Special Friends Veterinary Clinic in the past, but this one is extra special. I've brought my cat Riker here for over 10 years, and every time, the team has been outstanding! They have taken such great care of Riker, demonstrating true professionalism and compassion. From Barb and Carisa, who've always greeted us with their friendly smiles at the front desk, to vet technicians Bethany and Brittany, who are so thorough and knowledgeable, to Dr. Morgan, who has always handled Riker with the utmost care and patience...everyone is wonderful. Unexpectedly, we had to take Riker to an emergency hospital over the holiday weekend. Due to his age and prior health issues, we unfortunately had to say our goodbyes that day. And not surprisingly, a couple of days later, Dr. Morgan, being Riker's primary veterinarian for over 10 years, took the time to call us, offering her sincere condolences and encouragement after she heard of his passing. It meant a lot to me, and I believe their compassion and genuine caring are what make Special Friends truly special. I highly recommend them❤️!

Fantastic experience: This place really goes above and beyond! They make sure that your "Special Friend" is comfortable and calm, throughout the visit. They were really great with our cat, Jack Jack, and they have fair pricing, as well. 10 stars!

Plus anyone who will trim the nails of our feisty cat is to be greatly admired and appreciated! Adding to this review..the vets have carefully managed the care of our cat with some long term respiratory issues, being sure that the treatment doesn't cause any unintended or non desirable effects. We sincerely and wholeheartedly recommend Special Friends!

Negative experience: The veterinarians and vet techs in the exam rooms are all highly competent and wonderful, BUT the office bookkeeping staff has made three major errors in the past 60 days. I have been bringing my 4 cats to them since 2020, but I left Special Friends yesterday and will not return. Examples of errors: a) I was given written estimate for general anesthesia and dental work for my 20-22 year old cat, with a root likely up in the sinus cavity. Estimate included ANOTHER $290 for 3rd blood work, same cat, in just 60 days. They admitted it was unnecessary & removed the superfluous charge. b) Staff called this week & claimed the same 20-22 year old cat needs vaccs before his procedure scheduled for today, but all 4 cats had already had vaccs in late March. Staff said I needed to bring in proof of his up-to-date vaccs, BUT the vaccs were all done by Special Friends only 6 WEEKS ago. The office bookkeeping staff clearly needs some training and supervision! Accurate record keeping is a must to avoid injury to pets and overcharges to owners. I have paid nearly $3,000 to this clinic in the past 60 days, but they still cannot keep the computer records accurate. Accurate and complete medical and payment records are a must to avoid injury pets and overcharges to owners. This same 20-22 year old cat is listless, wetting everywhere since yesterday, eats only what I spoon feed him, and his urine is clear with no odor. How on earth Special Friends did not notice lack of kidney function in the two blood work lab results totalling just under $600 in the past 60 days I do NOT understand. Instead of $1,200 worth of dental work today, this kitty will be put to sleep by a vet he has never even seen. I definitely will never take another pet into Special Friends! I also will NEVER recommend Special Friends to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Front desk Jenyfer started off the experience right with a professional but friendly hello and big smile. She was fast and efficient. We have come to Special Friends several times with different pets for different reasons and always been treated with respect and kindness. The entire clinic is very nice and spotlessly clean, which impressed us. Not long ago had to put down an old ailing dog and Dr. Kish handled that tearful situation with professional kindness that we appreciated. Our recent visit was to introduce a new rescue puppy and begin and follow-up with proactive care. The assistant that started our procedure was very professional and fast. The vet that saw our dog was Dr. Morgan who made us and the dog feel comfortable, was very professional, and listened to our questions, responding with answers that we could understand to take better care of our new dog. Over about the past 25 years we have had a number of pets and visited at least 3-4 local vet clinics. We were often dismayed with some of those clinics primarily due to front desk staff and some vets acting "snippy" like we did not matter to them, and communicating and appointment arrangements were poor. Special friends made us feel like they were glad to see us and our pets, and making every effort to see that we would take proper care of our pets. They cared about the pet. I am recommending Special Friends to all other pet owners, and plan to return every time there is a pet need.

Fantastic experience: SF is always great, from Barb at the front desk to Dr Kish, Lord Stanley and Kelvin never fear going here

Negative experience: Almost $500 for a sick visit for our dog. Included physical exam, blood test and urinalysis which didn’t show any problems, and a very small amount of muscle relaxer and pain medication for back pain. We were only there for about 20 minutes. The care was fine but sure shocked at the amount they charged.

Fantastic experience: Great people and wonderful care my Brody enjoys coming to the vet I believe because he knows that they are going help him. I have been coming for years with all my dogs and I know that we will always get the best care. Check them out you and your pet will be very happy with the care you get. I have also used there grooming services for years. I call it Brodys spa day because he is just so happy when he goes. Great all around services in one place

Fantastic experience: Amanda is great!! my cat Kitty ate something and wasnt feeling right.. without hesitation they got me in for an appointment and checkup same day. pricing is fair and the staff are just suuper friendly. will definitely be my vet for life. thanks again Amanda!
