Fantastic experience: Love ❤️ the doctors and medical staff for the medical care for my precious dog. Best animal clinic in Oklahoma City--thank you! I brought my dog, Star back on January 28, 2026 because she was having trouble walking. She was 15 1/2 years old and was in pain from arthritis that she had been battling for over three years. I felt so bad that I had to make the decision to put her to sleep due to the poor quality of life but she couldn't walk anymore. The doctor was very sympathetic making us feel that it was the best decision we could make for her and talked to my son and I doing her best to make us feel comfortable. I would like to thank the doctor and entire staff for their concerns and kindness. I will never forget that day and how they provided comfort to our dog and us. We had been talking her there for over 15 years and have received the very best service! Thank you very much for the special love and kindness you all have provided for over 15 years!!

Fantastic experience: they have always taken such good care of all my animals at such a great price! i have 4 babies and i bring all of them here! such nice people. u can walk in any day without an appointment and get served with love and care. regardless of how busy they are they will make sure u get in as long as you are there an hour before close.

Fantastic experience: I took my chicken here for treatment when she was sneezy, lethargic, and not in the mood to eat. I called ahead and was told to bring her in ASAP to see the Avian vet. They kept her overnight for me so they could collect stool samples, and did not charge me additional fees for boarding. My girl was released the next day with an extremely affordable bill and some antibiotics to get her on the mend. They also sent me home with packets of information about her illness so I could familiarize myself. The care was so thorough and reasonably priced that I am seriously considering using them to care for my cats as well as my flock! Thanks again to Dr. Harlin, Krista, and the rest of the team at Southside!

Fantastic experience: My husband and I have both used SSDBC for decades now. We came in last week after our 2 GSD had a fight. One had her head split open, Dr. Harlin fixed our Izzybaby right up. We would definitely recommend and will always be back!

Negative experience: My dog had a orange size tumor in his chest. It opened up so my family members brought him to this clinic. They cut him open from shoulder to shoulder. They told us that the stitches will dissolve on their own. So there was no need for a follow up. Today his chest started leaking blood. Alot of blood. At 5am in the morning. We had to apply pressure for 2 and a half hours for another clinic to open. When we got there. They were shocked that he didnt have a drain tub and had to remove the large blood clot from his chest. Hes doing fine now. But I wouldnt bring your pets here. My dog was botched. Hes 11 years old and got put through two surgeries in the same week. They charged up little over then half a grand for just the surgery. Even when it was pretty botched and another clinic had to fix their errors/mistakes. I believe doctors and vets shouldn't be paid until the patient is fully recovered. It would solve situations like this. Like if you took your car to the shop. Your engines cracked. The technician was like "yeah I can fix this" then attempts to fix it and gives back your car. Only for you to have 8 new problems with the vehicle. Would you honestly pay them?! Absolutely not. Then why are we paying theses people for botched surgeries and cheap results. I know this is a long comment but today was rather long and difficult. There is alot of emotion i put into theses words. Which was a shame. Because 10+ years ago this place use to be great. But never again.

Negative experience: I have been calling to ask very simple questions and opinion before driving my dog there to see if they can help. Phone rings nonstop 4 different time I call yesterday (during there listed operating hours) then it sounds as if someone picks up the phone and then hangs up. Today called first thing in the morning. Still no answer. I don’t understand why it is so difficult to answer the phone. The care the vets give my animals is amazing but maybe they need to look into their front desk because this is ridiculous. I shouldn’t have to load my dog up and drive there for simple questions that are not listed on the website as “frequently asked questions”!

Fantastic experience: Southside Dog, Bird and Cat Clinic took amazing care of our dog, King. From the moment we walked in, the staff was warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about animals. Our lady vet was especially kind and patient with King—she treated him like he was her own. You could tell she truly cared and made sure we understood everything about his care. The prices were very fair, especially for the level of service we received. It’s hard to find a clinic that combines compassion, professionalism, and affordability so well. We couldn’t have been happier with the experience and will definitely be bringing King back for future visits.

Fantastic experience: They have taken care of us for years. I'm getting those little things out of my dog's foot spayed neutering. Antoine putting our fat dog. Dan, they are the most affordable and compassionate place around. I don't have a lot of working hours

Negative experience: Just go anywhere but here! I've been coming here for years until my kitten passed away. I took him there every week (4x) and all they did was give him deworming medication! I eventually took him to another vet, and they told me it was too late. They did X-rays and an ultrasound, and found that he was extremely constipated, with something obstructing him. He couldn’t keep anything down. They kept him overnight in an attempt to get him to have a bowel movement, but it wasn’t working. He was so weak, and his vitals were dropping. We had to put him down because he was in so much pain. I was devastated and heartbroken to lose such a sweet little boy. Other friends and family have had terrible experiences here as well! My mom went to get her cat’s eye checked, and they told her it was cancer! She took the cat somewhere else, and it turned out to be just glaucoma!

Fantastic experience: I took my sick chicken here and Dr. Harlan and Krista were incredibly helpful! They made sure she was well taken care of and taught me all I needed to know about my chicken and the medicine they prescribed. Dr. Harlan was very thorough and answered all of my questions. You can tell his passion for birds by the way he talks about them. He stated he has been practicing for over 40 years and this experience definitely shows. All of the staff was very friendly and compassionate. Krista took some time before dropoff to talk to me one on one and gather information and explain what it may or may not be and what I need to look for. Overall, if I could give more than 5 stars I would! Thank you to Dr. Harlan and Krista!!!

Fantastic experience: They got my girl in same day for her vaccinations when I screwed up and forgot to schedule an appointment with her regular vet ahead of time. Yes, you do have to wait for 1-2 hours before being seen but once you get in, it is extremely quick and they are super friendly. They were slammed when I came yet the vet took the time to answer all my questions and even give my dog a treat and some lovins. They were patient and made sure she was comfortable before injecting her. Also, their prices are the cheapest in the metro by far. $140 for all her vaccines and Flea/tick medicine for the summer. I highly recommend them!

Negative experience: They won't schedule an appointment nor will they allow you to wait indoors. You must wait in your vehicle in the parking lot. There is no shade. If you drive a 4 cylinder vehicle, your ac will not put out cold air while you are parked. Your fan will blow hot air at you. I spent two hours forty five minutes sitting in the sun in my truck waiting for my turn. It was pretty hot outside, too. I wanted to get water for my dog. But they told me they couldn't give me any. I told them I thought he was overheating, sitting outside and asked if he could come in and cool off. Since they had no water he could drink to do that for him. They refused. I told them I was going to drive to the corner and grab a bottle of water for him, but they said I would lose my place in line and have to start at the end of the line when I got back. My dog was beginning to overheat and so was I. There was no compassion for his suffering. Once inside, There was no courtesy from the staff. They were too busy trying to push you through as fast as they could, even getting agitated if you pause to ask a question. One woman, a quite large person, was particularly very rude to customers. She sounded put-out when someone asked her a question. She would huff out air in a disrespectful scoff before answering. I have been Going to this clinic for sixteen years, but that was my last visit. It's too much to sit in the Oklahoma heat with the sun beating down on you and your pet for that many hours then get treated like an inconvenience instead of a worried pet parent. The veterinarian was very kind, but she was the singular exception. All the rest of the staff followed the abrupt rudeness with people as the large woman. If you want to be treated like you're problem, this is the perfect place for you. If you want compassion for your pet and pleasantries between you and staff, you'll need to go elsewhere. They will not get a seventeenth year out of me and my two furbabies

Fantastic experience: Always the best attention to my animals, reasonable wait times and all for a very fair price. I live 1/2 ! mile from a veterinarian, who I happily drive by to go to south okc because I know I'll be treated fairly and my animals given the best care possible.

Fantastic experience: Can not say enough kind things about this place. Had to let my sweet boy Norman go today and these people were so wonderful and compassionate to us during this difficult day. We had to wait a while because they were so busy but when it was our turn, they were so kind, explained everything and were very patient with us throughout the whole process. It truly made a difference to us in these last moments and I cannot thank them enough.

Negative experience: I have Been coming here for years and over time the hours have become less and less. They’re barely open! Very unorganized . Wont schedule an appointment. Wants you to get there before 12 to get seen and even if you do, you still may not get seen. Was turned away today even though I got there almost an hour before 12. Took off work and everything. Hard to plan your day out when it’s like this and you have to work. Currently looking for another vet.

Fantastic experience: This place was the most helpful, knowledgeable vet I've been to in the state. We took a bird here and they literally could not have been more helpful. I live closer to a different exotic vet, but would happily go out of my way to this clinic any day.

Positive experience: Dr. Jones ❤️ was her loving supportive self as always even when I'm there to have one of my fur babies put to rest she's there with the hug she's there with understanding she's there with warmth she's there for support to let me know that what I'm doing I'm doing for my baby who had no quality of life I just love her she has been our Vet for My Family about if not over 30 years ❤️ BUT I HAVE CHANGED VETS(OAKWOOD VETERINARY/ DR. OHMANN) 3 MONTHS AGO, DUE TO THE NO APPTS., FIRST COME FIRST SERVE WALK-INS, WITH A 1-2 HR. WAIT, ALMOST ALWAYS FIXES EVERYTHING WITH ANTIBIOTICS & STEROIDS', & THEN ONLY BEING OPEN PART TIME, ABOUT 5 HRS., A DAY LIKE 3-4 DAYS A WEEK & JUST TIRED OF IT.

Fantastic experience: I love These Vet's. I have taken 4 Dogs and 1 cat and they are wonderful. When I was low on fund's they let me pay out my bill and that ment so much to me. They are a God Send for me.

Negative experience: Always took our pets here but won’t return and here is why. When we took our beloved 17 year old Angel to be put out of her suffering, they refused to allow us to be with her when they administered the final injection. We needed to be with her, but more than anything, a pet needs to be with her person in her last moments. I wish we hadn’t let them do this to us. We now have an elderly dog, nearly age 16, and when his time comes, they won’t be able to traumatize us again.

Fantastic experience: My family and I have been using this place since our first pet when I was a kid. It's always a good experience. They do their best to get you in and out as quickly as possible, but it is first come first serve. I've had my dog's nails clipped, dental cleaning, annual shots, and back weakness treated here.

Fantastic experience: Love this place, my dog had parvo and they were able to save his life and I could take him home every night to love on him. Their friendly staff made it easy to get him in first thing every morning, so I was able to be to work quickly. I was very worried about the bill for fluids and care for 3 days, but to my surprise the bill was very affordable for my baby boy. I've paid triple at other animal hospitals around the OKC metro area. Highly recommend!

Positive experience: They Have gone to a policy of walk-ins and not appointment for nail trimming and shots for my dog so I am unable to spend that much time waiting if there's a possibility of seeing a vet. Most times their policy of closing at noon and only one vet on hand has narrowed the possibility of me using them anyway. I do trust them and wish they had a more scheduleable policy as they had before covid but I understand changes had to be made.

Fantastic experience: My dog had an allergic reaction to possibly a bee. The doctors were very friendly and helpful. They explained very well what medication to give my dog. They are a very good dog urgent care.

Barkley,Baker and Trapper are fortunate to have this wonderful place to help whenever they’re sick, injured or just needs vaccinations. The doctor is wonderful and the receptionists go out of their way to keep my babies calm and happy.

Fantastic experience: If I could give more than 5 stars I could. These ladies were wonderful and so kind and caring. I took my cat, Chaplin, there this morning for a mystery illness. I had told the lady at the front my situation, I had taken her to the ER vet the night before but I was only approved for a certain amount in CareCredit and I had some extra on top of that and she didn't turn me away. While we were waiting to be seen, Chaplin went unresponsive and the receptionist could already tell that she was leaving us and there was nothing they could do. They got me a room right away and unfortunately it seemed to be kidney failure so I had to make the tough decision to put her down. I was a bawling mess and they were extremely patient and kind to me, I don't think I've had a better experience at a vet before. The vet herself was extremely caring and knowledgeable. I know this profession can be so hard on you guys especially in cases like this but I want to express my biggest gratitude for the kindness you all showed me in a world shattering moment. Thank you so much.

Fantastic experience: I went there for their prices are like half a regular veterinarian. The wait might be a little longer but it's enjoyable because the staff and other people are friendly so you can sit and chat, which makes the time fly by.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to them 4 years. My first time was my cocktail...then. my dogs .moved away4 years acquired some cats. Most my pets are strays or orphaned. They have always been reasonable with their prices. The staff and vets are and have been amazing.

Positive experience: I really do not like that you can't make appointments especially when the exam fee is $60. I came here Thursday and waited an hour and a half. While waiting I called other vets that take appointments and their exam fee is the same! I left and I tried to cancel but no one would pick up the phone. Unless it is an emergency I wouldn't waste my time going unless you like not knowing if it will take 2 hours to be seen. The hours are also really bad compared to what they used to be and the wait is really not worth the exam fee price. Other than that the vet is usually very nice.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service!very knowledgeable. Doctor Harlin and his staff take the time to explain everything and even go over x rays if they are done. In contrast to other hospitals/clinic( especially a northside emergency hospital in OKC) they are not intimidated by an owner that asks questions. They want you to understand your pets health issues. Fees are very reasonable. Overall, you will not be disappointed!! They have earned my business

Fantastic experience: Really great vet office. Everyone is really kind. Super affordable. I recently visited because my cat had some type of ear infection. If you show up at 7:45 and wait until they open you can be one of the first to be seen and you’ll be in and out in less than half an hour.

Fantastic experience: This place is great. Our little dog got sick and we took him here, then shortly afterwards our big dog caught it. They both were seen here and have fully recovered. The animal doctors are very nice. This place is always busy and a first come first serve, so expect a little wait to have your pet seen.

They refer you if it is a higher need that involves an emergency hospital vet. They have always taken the best care of all of my animals for many, many years! Ignore Thanos, he thinks guidelines do not apply to him and is a rule breaker. In turn the staff all show him allot of patience...

Fantastic experience: What an amazing veterinarian. They took great care of my Clay who had a bad dental infection. My cat is loving the cleaning and his breath smells pleasant. After 2 days he's running around all happy. The staff was great answered all questions and answers they didn't know they asked the Dr. Price was absolutely a steal. Almost every other place wanted at least double. You forever have a patient while we like in okc

Positive experience: They were awesome. I just wish they had a bit more technology i.e. in house ultra sound...etc. to fully diagnose issues. They are straightforward and do not price gouge their customer's. This is a great place for routine care, shots, and Medicine refills. They are very good at speaking to your level of knowledge and helping you learn about husbandry on new pets you may not be as familiar with. I have dogs and am very knowledgeable on veterinary care of dogs and cats, but we got a pair of Budgies aka Parakeets and they are very helpful in teaching about diet and training.

Fantastic experience: We took in all 3 of our senior dogs for check ups. They were quick and had a room for us right away. The Vet was very pleasant and very thorough and took time with all 3 of our dogs!

Fantastic experience: Got dachshunds? This is the vet for them. Not only do they service a large pet demographic. They really love dachshunds the most. They know my family by name. Which makes the visits feel like family reunions. Unlike some vet offices pushing you through like cattle. If you are looking for a vet that won't take you to the bank. Fantastic experience: Dr Harlin is great, my best friend and I took her Conure Sunny to have her foot looked at and didn't hold back punches of the severity of Sunny's condition, but he's showed me a warrior to help sunny fight and live! Negative experience: UPDATE REVIEW THEY WONT SAVE A FAMILY MEMBER WITHOUT MONEY IN HAND. TOLD THEM I WOULD HAVE IT WHEN I PICKED HER UP. I LEFT WITH BLOOD ALL OVER ME CAUSE MY BABY HAD BEEN MAULED BY 3 DOGS Been the only vet I have used for years. You can walk in when your pet is sick and they will see them that day. They have always taken the time to have real conversations about the animals and thier needs and thier fees are VERY reasonable when you compare to other places. Fantastic experience: This clinic I found when my dog got sick ans needed an emergency visit. What I found there is the most helpful polite staff, prices that everyday people can afford, and just overall a place that makes you feel like they are there to truly help you ans your pets. Grateful I found them!

Fantastic experience: Our 10-year-old dog became very ill last week. He stopped eating, became very very lethargic, and was drinking water to excess to the point of vomiting. We were distraught and beside ourselves not knowing what was wrong. I called the clinic on Thursday morning, and during that call it was extremely hard to not become emotional. The woman that I spoke with was extremely kind, compassionate, and understanding. A few hours later, my two adult children and I brought our sick dog to the clinic. The veterinarian who saw him was very kind to us from the moment she walked in the room. She did blood work and came back to tell us devastating news. Our beloved boy was in diabetic ketoacidosis. His blood sugar was over 500, which explained his sudden sickness, and how severe that sickness was. Until that very moment, we literally had no idea he even had diabetes. She explained to us what our options were. After weighing those options, we made the heart-wrenching decision to end his suffering. My children and I became overwhelmed with emotion. The veterinarian explained to us what would be done, and she allowed us all the time that we needed with him before the procedure. We were also able to be with him until he fell asleep from the sedative. It was comforting to know that the last thing he knew was us being there with him and loving on him, without us having to actually be there when he took his last breath, which is something that none of us would have been able to handle. We had also made the decision that we wanted to bring him home and bury him under the tree that he loved so much. The staff was so kind to wrap him in blankets, as he was too large for any boxes that they had. They also had me back up to their back door, so that I could open my trunk and the staff brought him out and gently placed him in there so that we would not have to do so. I am extremely grateful for the kindness, compassion, and professionalism shown by the vet and staff at this clinic. We were reassured many times that we made the right decision for our beloved fur baby. We have been to this clinic many times before for less serious issues. Each and every time we have had great experiences. They are also the most affordable vet that I have found. I highly recommend them to anyone for the care of their furry family members.

Fantastic experience: They are very nice. I had to have my dog put down. It was very hard. They were very compassionate, told me what to expect gave me plenty of time and privacy to say good bye. They will always be the ones I take my pets to for care.

Negative experience: The vet herself is great. The staff on the other hand are the rudest most unprofessional group I have ever met. They don’t answer the phone unless you call 6X over and only then will they finally pick up, just to tell you they aren’t busy at all if you can make it by then. Which is frustrating if they aren’t busy why aren’t they answering the phone!!!! And everytime you get rude lazy people at the front who don’t want to work.

Fantastic experience: Great appt for my dog. I liked how clearly everything was explained. Learned a lot about treating allergies that I had not been told by another vet. They gave me 2 pages of helpful hints and 3 medicines. Out the door for less than $110. That never happens at “that other vet”. Also since March 2020 I have not been able to go into the appt with my dog. I didn’t like that as I didn’t have time to talk to the vet.

Fantastic experience: I was so grateful to find a clinic able able help my girls on a moments notice today! I adopted a baby on Saturday and she had kennel cough from the shelter. The clinic being able to see us today so we could get meds started for everyone meant the world to me. Their service was also A+, the Doctor and techs all had wonderful bedside manner and seem to really care about your animals. I would definitely recommend this clinic for your fur babies.

Fantastic experience: This place has always been great. Not one bad visit. Not fancy but, that's what keeps the prices fair. The dr/owner is getting older and has removed a few procedures from his repertoire. So, call before to see what's available if pet needs surgery. A heads up, this pace is always busy!

Fantastic experience: I’ve had great experiences and I just started going here, twice so far. Very nice vets that work with you and very understanding. I have 2 larger dogs, both get a little vicious with strangers and they worked with me to get done what needed. ALSO it’s reasonable and affordable pricing!

Fantastic experience: Ziggy is already a nervous mutt, Lol. There was a small wait, but he was seen relatively quickly and without an appointment. The Veterinarian had some sort of magic spell on him, even when recieving his shot he didn't even move. I am sooo grateful a friend referred me to them! What could have been difficult for the Zig-man, was not. He was more upset by the drive there, than the actual visit! If I could give more stars, I would!!

Fantastic experience: This place over the last 22 years has saved all our pets. Even our dog that had Parvo. They also let us pay the bill out. And the prices were affordable. Thank God !

Fantastic experience: Amazing. I brought our cat here and they are wonderful. The wait was a little long but it's understandable. I'm bringing my dogs back here soon for a check up! Very affordable pricing as well!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing! The staff is super sweet and my vet was so friendly with my 17 year old Bichione. She was gentle and caring with my 2 year old Pitt mix! Will go back for future visits.

Fantastic experience: This team is amazing!!!! They truly love animals. They are patient and very informative. They saved my dog. The time he had an accident with a bigger dog and he fractured his nose and then again when he contracted parvo all of this happening within in a 2 month span. I love having someone I can count on who speaks my dog language. They always know exactly what my dog needs. Migit and I Thanks you!

Negative experience: Been going here for years, but unfortunately I had to take my dog in on Monday for some issues and was provided an exam and meds ($108.00). Only to return 2 days later because every time I gave the meds my dog would get sick and throw up the meds. The vet decided that the original dosage was wrong and revised the dosage instructions. The tech came in with more meds and a bill, I promptly explained that rechecks were at no charge. The tech said well she is prescribing additional meds which would be an another $78.00....I said NO, not paying for more meds to correct the vets original dosage error. Picked up my dog and promptly left. Highly disappointed and was left shaking my head. Will be going elsewhere for veterinary care.

Fantastic experience: Affordable prices and friendly staff, such as Abril, is what keeps us coming back. Ive never had a negative experience in the 2 years that I have been bringing my pets here, 9/10 would recommend :) They also take social distancing serious which I appreciate!

Fantastic experience: My wife and I have used Southside for all of our pets. Yesterday we made the difficult decision of euthanizing my sweet 14 1/2 year old Schnauzer, Rudy. The vet that walked us through the process was extremely compassionate and understanding. Most importantly, she let us be there as our sweet Rudy crossed over the Rainbow Bridge.

Negative experience: I took my sister's dog there for her. The main staff lady was so rude. I had no idea how they do things and when I walked in I felt like I was about to get a whippin' She def is the downfall of the clinic. Dr was very nice. But no thanks I will stay with my vet Gentle Care Animal Hospital. Dr. Chris. Now that place knows how to treat people and animals love them ❤

Fantastic experience: The vet here and the workers were absolutely wonderful. This was the first time to visit here, but now we are going to be clients forever! Fantastic experience: Best vets in Okc! They genuinely care about the animals. We have 3 German Shepherds, one has an allergy that needs constant attention. They take the time to make sure Bruno is taken care of.
