Fantastic experience: Dr Kane is always so kind, knowledgeable and thorough. He puts me at ease no matter the issue. He helped us with something serious as surgery, which he’s amazing at, and something minor as stomach upset. I know my dog is very well cared for by Dr Kane.

They are super helpful for routine medical care and vaccinations, and also were extremely helpful when my dog got sick this past September. She’s made a full recovery. They are kind and gentle with all pets.

Fantastic experience: Our 14 year old pup Cashie was seen for issues with his teeth. Everyone - the doctor, vet tech and front office staff - were very informative, friendly and provided great care. They referred us to a cardiologist to determine the best anesthesia medication for our senior dog so Cashie can receive the dental care he needs. We appreciated this so much because this will provide the best outcome for our pup. Previously, our two cats and German Shepherd have also received care at Conejo Valley Vet Clinic - we wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: Only a puppy mani-pedi this time but CVVH has cared for our dogs (now our ninth) since 1970. The expertise, the kindness, the efficiency of all the Vets are unmatched. And, of course, the compassion shared when the inevitable occurs is deeply personal. Our main Vets over 55 years have been the late Dr. Robert Kind and Dr. Tobi Yoakum.

Fantastic experience: We had an awesome experience! Waffles had some kind of eye infection and also diarrhea. Both issues were diagnosed correctly without additional testing and the medication that was prescribed worked right away. Our doc was conscientious of tight finances during the holidays and gave her professional opinion that was not only 100% correct but it saved us hundreds of dollars. Waffles saw immediate improvement within 24 hours! Thank you lots!

Negative experience: Update: Their response is false. On the phone they told me I still have to pay an annual fee, even though he was last seen in July. Calabasas Animal Clinic moved to this place and they’re absolute scammers and money grabbing people with no real care or knowledge for animals, just want your money. They’ve moved to Canejo Valley Veterinary Hospital and they’re the same people with the same excuses so avoid at all costs. We’ve spent thousands of dollars in just one year with these fools and they’re refusing to call my dogs medication into the pharmacy because he “needs a physical” so they can charge me over $100 to weigh him despite seeing him almost every month if not twice a month since January up until July and now they’re refusing his medication putting him in life threatening risk! Stay away!

Fantastic experience: My pup got sick over Thanksgiving weekend. I was so happy CVVH was open Sunday morning. They got us checked in fast and the Dr Lee did a good exam of my girl. They ran a few tests and happy it wasn't nothing major. Gave me some meds and she started feeling better in a couple days. They did a follow up the next day to see how she was doing. It is a great facility and highly recommend this animal hospital.

Fantastic experience: Both of my dogs had an appointment with Dr Ov. She was excellent taking her time to listen to me and check my dogs. She gave me several choices of treatment and didn't pressure me. She even called me back personally to give me the lab results and answer any questions I had. I drive from Simi and it is worth the drive.

Fantastic experience: We love our vet. Been coming here since 2020 and always feel the doctors and staff are so kind and knowledgeable. When we saw Dr. Meagan Ov, it was the most relaxed I’ve ever seen my Doberman at a Vet. She had such a calm demeanor and he didn’t feel nervous at all. Thank you Dr. Ov!

Fantastic experience: We’ve been taking our pets to Conejo Valley Vet Hospital for several years. Cats, guinea pigs, and now labradoodles. The waiting room and exam rooms are always clean, the staff is very caring with pet moms & dads, and the clinicians are excellent!

Negative experience: All employees were extremely courteous and kind and the doctor Ov Was very thorough. The wait to see the doctor was very long. I checked in at about 10 o’clock and I didn’t leave until about 1:30. I think they need to hire more doctors. The reason for my visit was my 1 yr 10 months dog was not eating and had blood in his stool for 2 to 3 days and throwing up and very dehydrated.

Fantastic experience: Once again, Conejo Valley Vet Hospital & Clinic excellently assessed our doggie, Maggie Mae’s medical problem and assisted her in getting back to a healthy little dog. We are very grateful for Katlyn taking our call, welcoming us into the clinic & for us to not be panicked. Vet Assistant, Jonathan, brought further calm & assurance in taking vitals & history, making us ready to speak to Dr. Lee who provided us with great medical attention. Jonathan wrapped around and gave us perfect directions on the meds and further treatment. Carli did a super job of clearing Maggie’s ears & showing us how to help heal our doggie. Today, 2 days later, Annie was super on the phone assisting me once again. Our doggie, Maggie Mae is doing much better! Thank you !

Negative experience: I used to like conejo valley veterinarian office. But last couple years it’s been awful. I haven’t seen the same vet more than once. Vet we saw on Saturday was so unsure of herself. All her statements were a question. She was asking me what I wanted to do. If I knew what I needed to do I wouldn’t have spent $500+ to come see you. I’m seriously thinking about going somewhere else

Fantastic experience: I'm not a fan of all the corporatization that's been taking place in pet medicine and people medicine. However, that doesn't mean that a "corporate" service can't be as good or even better than many ma and pa veterinarian services. This most recent visit was for a dental cleaning and also some teeth extractions. Everything went very well. Fortunately, their schedule worked best with mine compared to numerous other recommended small offices. It appears that the cost was roughly 20% higher here (hard to know for sure) but this service isn't cheap anywhere. I've been to Conejo Valley Veterinarian previously with terrible emergencies when it was a 24/7 office. Also another time with some critical tests when they were privately owned. The facility is clean, the people are nice, and very accommodating. They were great! My dog seems to be doing very well, just a day after when I'm typing this review, and no more smelly breath and painful rotting teeth. Yes I would visit them again and recommend them to others. Do your own inquiries for services even if you've been going to the same vet forever.

Negative experience: After 18 years of trusting Conejo Valley Veterinary Hospital with our dogs, they completely broke our trust. While on a family vacation and boarding our 6-year-old golden retriever and licensed service dog, Finn, we received a call saying he had been attacked by another dog under their care. His injuries were severe — requiring anesthesia, surgery, stitches, and urgent treatment. Instead of apologizing or taking responsibility, Conejo Valley Veterinary Hospital billed us over $1,100 for his care and even sent the bill to collections when we disputed it. We’ve had to take this matter to small claims court just to stand up for what’s right. This has been traumatic for our dog and heartbreaking for our family. If you value accountability and compassion, please think carefully before trusting Conejo Valley Veterinary Hospital with your pet — we did, and our dog paid the price.

Fantastic experience: Through out the years, my dogs have been clients with Conejo Valley Vet since 1987. This year my rescue Cholo has had quite a few challenges. The doctors and staff treat us with the utmost respect and care. Each doctor brings their speciality and personality to the room and yesterday was no exception. Dr. Yoakum was very attentive, listened to my concerns and helped me understand a little more about the aging dog.

Negative experience: I brought my dog, Dakota, to Conejo Valley Veterinary Hospital on August 26, 2025, for an ear infection and possible yeast on her paws. I approved the treatment plan based on the clinic’s recommendations and was billed $854.25, which included $456.50 for a single Cytopoint injection. After the visit, I contacted several other Ventura County veterinary clinics to compare pricing and learned that comparable care including the same Cytopoint injection and exam typically costs between $207 and $315 total. Based on multiple quotes, the entire set of services provided during Dakota’s visit would have cost closer to $500–$600 at most other local clinics. I emailed the clinic on August 26th requesting an itemized invoice and an explanation for the pricing discrepancy, but as of today, I have not received any response. I also want to note that I informed the staff that Dakota is fearful of male handlers and that we follow fear-free practices for her care. Despite this, a male technician administered vaccines without acknowledgment of this request, which caused Dakota additional stress. Afterward, I reviewed recent Yelp reviews and noticed several one-star complaints in the past few months from other pet owners expressing concerns about pricing, communication, and care — many of which appear unresolved. I wish I had seen those before my visit. I value the medical care Dakota received, but based on my experience and the lack of communication, I encourage other pet owners to carefully review recent feedback and ask for detailed estimates before approving treatment plans.

Fantastic experience: This is the most caring Veterinary /Hospital I have ever been too! The staff is always so supportive, friendly and show genuine care. Lulu’s vet, Dr. Ov is truly a blessing ! She cares so much for her fur baby patients, and I can’t thank her enough for her genuine care and kindness. She is very patient - and this is so important when you have a scared/reactive rescue dog. Lulu has warmed up to her so much ! I trust her opinion, she always is so professional and caring and I couldn’t ask for a better vet for my baby Lu.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Kane at Conejo Valley Veterinary Hospital was incredible with our cat, Foxy, during his final moments. He took the time to explain everything, comfort us, and guide us through the process with compassion. We are so grateful for his care and kindness.

Negative experience: Called on Sunday morning about my sick cat. The receptionist told me to bring him in as a walk in emergency. I got there within an hour of calling I was told that yes the symptoms were serious, but that they had reached their capacity of patients for the day. It was before noon when I arrived and they are open until 6pm. I asked to talk to the manager to explain my situation and that I would wait. The manager verified the seriousness of my cat’s symptoms, she also said they were at capacity and I needed to go somewhere else. The receptionist apologetically give me a list of vets to call. I went to American Vet Hospital Simi Valley and that’s when I realized Conejo did me a favor . Conejo Pet Hospital was underwhelming and unorganized. The front and back offices must not have been communicating well because as the front office was advising me to come in. The back office was getting overwhelmed and closing down accepting patients. I do not rec on mend this facility Snd will never go there again.

Fantastic experience: I brought my Maltese to Dr. Lavie for a bump on my dog’s back that I thought may be cancer. She assured me it probably was not but advised we should watch it to see if it grows. I appreciated her caring advice and conservative approach - no rush to surgery or biopsy. Thank you

Fantastic experience: Our fallback when our local vet is closed or too busy, Conejo Valley is a wonderful facility and has staff who show a genuine interest in our pets. I always appreciate a vet who sits down on the floor with our puppy to meet him, rather than put him on a table where he is more nervous. I also think they handle "final visits" in a very compassionate and caring way. It's not a great thing to have to do, but the staff and facility are as supportive as any we've used.

Fantastic experience: My dog had a bad ear infection over the weekend. Conejo Valley Vet was the only non-emergency facility open on Sunday, got us in on Sunday afternoon, took excellent care of my pup, and got us on our way with medication fairly quickly. Front desk staff were efficient and helpful, vet techs and the doctor were kind, professional, knowledgeable, and all around fantastic. And their prices are reasonable. I’m genuinely impressed!

Negative experience: We typically love going to Conejo Valley Vet where we find the Vets and Staff to be competent and caring. This weekend when we went - the Vet did not introduce himself. He did not build trust in the care he provided sadly. I feel like it was not worth the $500.00 we had to spend.

Fantastic experience: On Sunday we were heading home from vacation and I called ahead to Urgent Care because one of our dogs had been throwing up for the past 2 days. It’s very scary to be out of town and have your pet get sick! We were seen right away, and our dog received excellent care - a subcutaneous fluid injection and an anti-nausea injection. We were presented with next steps if this didn’t work (and cost estimates). What I really appreciated was a next day follow up email and telephone call to see how our dog was doing. We have used Conejo Valley Vet Hospital for 26 years with (4) different dogs and they are the best!

Fantastic experience: Dr LaVie has been taking care of my older dog with some stomach issues for the past few years. She is wonderful and caring and I appreciate her seeing me through this challenging time. My corgi is doing great!! She is the best!!

Fantastic experience: We live in Oxnard and our pup injured her paw on a Friday. By the wee hours of Sunday morning she had licked it raw and it had become infected. Our local emergency vet was closed and the other emergency vet nearby had at least a 6 hour wait. They referred us to a number of the next nearest vets. We chose Conejo Valley Veterinary Hospital because it had great reviews and were told the wait would be about 2 hours. The entire staff was very nice and affectionate toward our dog. We were seen within the 2 hours, had her wound cleaned and left with medications. It was a pleasant experience despite the emotions that come when you have an injured pet that needs urgent care. I would highly recommend CVVH.

Positive experience: EDIT: I would like to edit my review because while I still firmly believe that the vet who helped us previously was someone who should not be working with animals, I do believe Conejo Valley Vet Hospital handled the situation after the best they could. I received a call the next day from them apologizing and listening to what happened. I was informed that this vet is not someone who is normally at their practice and was helping out for the day. I do hope they take what I said seriously and do not utilize him again. They did offer to see Luna and make sure she was okay and give her a complimentary visit with one of their well established vets. We came in and that visit was amazing and hopefully my cat is on the mend. I am revising my review to 3 stars because it does change my opinion how they handled the aftermath of what happened. I took my cat in for an urgent care visit first thing this morning and let them know she had been experiencing diarrhea for over 3 days now and I was starting to get concerned because probiotics weren’t working. I get there and the lady at the front desk was very kind to us (the only good part of this visit). We wait about 10 mins and get taken back, I felt hopeful I would be getting the help needed for my cat. The tech comes in and I explain the situation and how I’m certain my cat hasn’t gotten into anything, we haven’t changed foods, no other changes besides the consistent loose stool. She tells me okay, the vet should be in shortly he is with another patient. No problem. The vet comes in and he is very cold from the beginning but starts asking what is going on. I explain everything again and how this is too long for her to have diarrhea and I am looking for help on what to do or what could be wrong. He just looks at me and says “there’s two options: we can do a stool sample that you bring in at a later point or I can give antibiotics”. I asked if he was even going to examine my cat. He said “I mean I can but it’s not going to change the suggestion”. Wait what? I am here for you to take a look at my cat and you haven’t even touched her yet and basically saying it’s pointless to. Okay…I said well yeah I mean I am here for an exam so I would like one. He goes near my cat and she hisses because she’s scared. Mind you he did not even try to pet my cat or calm her for a second before going straight to try to grab her (everyone knows that’s not how cats work). He said “no I can’t examine her when she’s like this, if you want I can get a tech to help me but like I said I am going to prescribe antibiotics”. He leaves the room to get a tech but I end up grabbing my cats carrier and going to the front. I told them I would like to leave and I will pay what they need me to but I did not receive an exam. I was very upset because I drove out with my stressed cat to get help and was treated so poorly. The girl at the front apologized and was so kind. I just want everyone to please beware of the doctors here who clearly don’t care about the animals being brought in or the people who are scared for their sick animals. It’s so sad and now I’m left with a cat who is still sick and stressed her out just to not get help.

Fantastic experience: We went in on a Sunday because it was the only day we could take our cat. We’re kind of overprotective, paranoid parents since we had a rough, sad experience with our last cat. They were completely understanding and wonderful. We’ve recently been displaced here from the Palisades and don’t have a regular vet yet but we’ll be back.

Fantastic experience: Our cat was very sick and our regular vet was not available so we brought him for an urgent visit. They were very caring and helped a great deal from the moment we called. We didn't have to wait long for the urgent care by the doctor. They did tests and gave us advice. If we didn't live so far away we would go here. It is not inexpensive but maybe if you want your pet to really get good quality help, be prepared to spend on your animal companion.

Fantastic experience: My regular vet's office was closed on the weekend and I went to this location based on proximity. I'm so happy I did. Everyone was super attentive, clean facility, and they weren't trying to upsell additional services or anything. Clearly explained the situation and options and no obligations to get bloodwork or anything. It was something my dog ate that gave her a reaction that I thought she had a seizure, but by the time we got there and we were seen, she was back to normal. They conducted a full set of tests to make sure she was good and not impacted.

Fantastic experience: I switched because my dogs last vet, for the second time, suggested $900 in testing because my dog had diarrhea! Conejo response let’s start out with some medication and if that doesn’t work then started testing for other reasons. I always find the vets at Conejo are always reasonable spending my money. This last time it was blood in her urine. Medicine prescribed and recovery was swift.

Fantastic experience: We have going to Conejo Valley Vet for years, three dogs and now our current Molitpoo! From the moment we walked in, a young gentleman at the front desk could not have been more polite and friendly. I thanked him when we left and told him how much I appreciated him. The assistant and Dr. Lavie were professional and attentive in every way. They met all of our dog's needs and answered all of my questions about his allergies. Thanks to CVVH, we are on a regimen that we hope will give him some relief. Thanks so much!.

Fantastic experience: Been going here for years now and I can confidently say these folks care about your pets. Front desk does their best every day, even when it's flooded. And MAN, they get flooded. (Lots more people with pets these days, and there's a lot of real jerks among them, unfortunately.) Even my dog loves them. This dude has anxiety. Do you know how rare it is for a dog to like going to the vet when it has anxiety? Yeah. YEAH. Best vet, best vet techs, best staff. Thanks, Conejo Valley Vet!

Fantastic experience: We brought our little kitty Rose in, and Dr. Lee was amazing with her. She was so scared, but he examined her in a very gentle way and he also comforted us because we were very very anxious and concerned about her Health. He immediately told us what He thought was wrong with her and she seems much better today. I would highly recommend Conejo, Dr. Lee and his staff for their kind and gentle care of Rose and for reassuring us that she was in good hands !

Fantastic experience: Everyone was so kind and helpful. The front desk helped us get an appointment as soon as possible, and even made sure we saw the vet best suited for my dogs problem. The vet tech and the veterinarian were both excellent. They explained everything thoroughly and even helped keep my 3-year old (human) calm while we were there. Can’t say enough about how great you all are!

Fantastic experience: When we looked for a dental clinic for our 5 1/2 year old Harrier, we wanted to find an accredited veterinarian who was affiliated with a professional organization focused on advancing pet dental care. We found the organization's lead doctor on the National Pet Dental Association website and upon arrival at the facility, I knew we made the right decision. While many vets say they do pet dentistry, few are certified. This was an excellent experience for what can be a major effort, and we felt confident that our dog Buddy was in the best hands all the way through.

Negative experience: I called a couple months ago for an emergency visit for Pink, my chinchilla who’s come and been seen I would say about 7 times at Conejo valley since I moved here in 2018. She was about 15 and was actively dying and this would’ve been her last visit. The lady or girl on the phone just kept saying “we don’t take chinchillas.” It was really absurd and dismissive, I’ve never been turned away - even when she was choking on a stick on a random afternoon in 2019, and I told her we’d come several times over the years and that you guys did indeed take chinchillas, and she still dismissed me. I ended up having to call 15+ more vets for another two hours before finally finding another emergency vet that would take her while she was actively dying. ***I should’ve been called and warned that you guys stopped taking chinchillas if this was true***. She died in an unfamiliar vet after hours of calling around and then being stuck in traffic. The last time I remember taking her in Conejo for a checkup on her foot, I could hear the girls calling Pink “mean” in the room behind me and were laughing because she was making angry noises after being provoked and frustrated, still has never bitten anyone. She is as sweet as pie and you guys kept both of us waiting, her in a tiny carrier without water, probably for 5+ hours for a simple checkup the last time we came, and were callous and dismissive of us a year or two later when it was her time to go to heaven. I won’t be taking any future animals here unless it’s truly a last resort.

Fantastic experience: Conejo Vet has been so great for all of my pets, but especially my dog, who has been well taken care of for a decade at Conejo. I have been happy with every vet he has seen, but more recently with Dr. Salas who has been so thorough and compassionate in my dog’s care and highly empathetic towards my own worries! Grateful for her care.

Fantastic experience: We have an 8 year old German Shepherd mix who has seen Dr. Salas twice now. She is very kind and explains everything she is doing in a way none medical folks can understand. She is so gentle with our baby and is thoughtful in her approach to treatment to make sure it is the best plan for us. The supporting staff is incredibly helpful and sweet as well. You can tell this staff enjoys working with your animals and wants to help in anyway possible. I would recommend this vet to anyone I know.

Positive experience: My dog needed emergency induced vomiting and when I came in, I was given new client papers to fill out (unnecessary) and that there would be a 1-2 hour wait! Apparently, there was no communication between the vet tech with whom I had spoken on the phone and the front desk clerk. This wasted precious time. However, I appreciate all that the vet techs and veterinarian did for my dog.

Fantastic experience: I had an emergency over the weekend, my regular veterinarian was closed. I wasn’t sure of where to go, but I knew of the reputation of CVVH. I called that morning really not expecting to get an appointment. The receptionist was so accommodating, explained I would need to see one of the veterinarians for an examination, for me, no problem. I arrived on time, was immediately taken to the scale to get his weight ….then sat down. Within 15 minutes vet tech took us back to the exam room where Dr Kane would be coming to give him his checkup. What I got was a veterinarian completely engaged in Oliver’s condition and health, I learned more from this hour than I ever did from my other hospital. He completed the exam, preformed an in office procedure, gave him an injection for his allergies and checked me out right in the exam room. Bottom line: I’ll be back, I’m thrilled with Dr Kane, the hospital’s staff and comfortable waiting area. My little boy is feeling much better, so worth the cost of an exam!

Fantastic experience: I wanted to thank Jonelle RVT for comforting me today. Every time I come to this vet my animals receive the best care. Today was no different. I have been to 4 veterinary offices and spent countless hours in the ER with 2 different cats in the last 3 days, when I was told my female cat would have to be taken home on hospice. I came this morning for my male cat to receive treatment and was just so overwhelmed with the entire situation and Jonelle took the time to listen to me and comfort me, I just wanted to say thank you, you’re compassion does not go unnoticed.

Negative experience: UPDATE: Your reply is UNACCEPTABLE and COMPLETELY misleading. Let me set the record straight. When I walked in, the Kennel assistant had left the cage door open. Daisy was nowhere to be found, and I had to search for her myself because your staff prioritized assisting other clients. I eventually found her under a cage, covered in dust, feces, and pee. This is NOT "great care." How dare you suggest I waste even more of my time calling you when you couldn’t be bothered to answer my calls while my cats were in your care? Time is money, and you’ve already wasted $1,000 of mine on this scam of a service. Your lack of accountability and professionalism is disgraceful. I demand a full refund for this traumatic experience for both my cats and myself. ------------------------------------------------ HORRIBLE PET BOARDING EXPERIENCE – TRAUMATIZED MY CATS FOR LIFE! I had an absolutely horrible experience with this pet boarding service and will never be returning. I boarded my two cats for 12 days, paid over $1,000, and was shocked by the condition of my younger cat when I picked them up. She was covered in dust, poop, and pee—completely unacceptable. They attempted to clean her using a stinky hypoallergenic spray, which made things worse, and then had the audacity to recommend groomers for a sanitary trim. My cat had a sanitary trim done right before boarding, and she has never had these issues at home. During the 12 days, I requested photos twice because they claimed I could ask anytime. The first time, they provided photos, but the second time, they ignored my request. I had to call multiple times over a day to get a response because they wouldn’t answer their phone. This lack of communication was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. To make matters worse, my poor babies are now traumatized for life due to this horrible experience. For the price they charged, I expected much better care and service. Instead, I’m left feeling upset and heartbroken about how my pets were treated. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Avoid it at all costs!

Fantastic experience: You have a second... HELL YEAH... this place is legit as they come. I wasn't pressured, Hector was well taken care of and the most impressive thing is on the amount of knowledge I walked out of the building with. Nobody has ever taken the time to talk to me and answer question and or give suggestions without it being forced down your throat, ya know. I thought the Vet tech. Fantastic experience: Great experience! My girl Olive hates going to the vet. I took her in for a hematoma on her ear and everyone was so sweet to her! She was giving the nurse and doctor kisses. The doctor was very honest and the prices very very fair! I highly recommend them!! Thank you to everyone that treated Olive like the queen she is!

Negative experience: I take all my pets here. Pros: easy parking. Cons: be prepared to wait at least 40 minutes for your appointment. They seem to bend for customers who complain and throw a fit, so there's that. It's difficult to make appointments, I don't think they have a reptile doctor. I have not been satisfied when I bring my turtle, they say they do but the last lady to see my turtle said she's no reptile expert so I feel like they are just trying to cover their ass, they seem to just be guessing. I don't leave feeling confident. I'm not happy with the care for cats, we see a different doctor every time. My oldest cat is now diabetic and I have now seen multiple doctors that have different opinions about his care. They allow big dogs off the leash in the waiting area when I was there with my toddler and cat. I found that really irresponsible. There was a point in time I would have referred people here but not anymore.

Fantastic experience: The staff at Conejo always greets me & my lab very warmly. My lab is very happy to be led inside. She loves the Doggy Day Care as a Senior dog.

Negative experience: Beware. They have a couple good doctors, but it's super hard for this team to definitively disgnose your dog. Last year and this year, they misdiagnosed both of my dogs, resulting in thousands of dollars in visits and medicines they did not need. One of my dogs just had a polyp that needed removal and after several months, diagnoses and medicines, one of their head doctors figured it out In 2 seconds. There was no real regard for the several visits prior she was misdiagnosed. Also... unpopular opinion... I know someone that works there who mentioned their vaccines were recently delivered over a holiday weekend and the staff let then sit outside in the scorching heat for 3 days ruining the vaccines (they must be refrigerated and/or stored in a cool environment...... they made the executive decision to NOT reorder new vaccines to rectify the mistake, but SELL the vaccines because it was worth thousands of dollars and they won't take the loss. So beware ya'll.. all your vaccines in the last 90 days were likely non effective but paid for. Dr Kelly was the best, and the place really went downhill when they changed management and dr Kelly left. Like i said . They have a couple good doctors, but the liklihood of you seeing that vet is slim to none. Always check their work if you decide to stay here.

Fantastic experience: In reading other people's negative reviews, I don't get it at all. We've had a wonderful experience here with our rabbits and dogs. They are kind, caring and always absolutely get us in on time for our appointments - no waiting. We are so thankful we have found them. We drive quite a way to get there, but it is totally worth it. There's another vet 5 minutes from me, but I will never go there again. Conejo Valley Vet is the best!

Fantastic experience: I called this past Sunday and just like my last review, my pup Sweet Pea, was taken such good care of. The vet, a lady on June 24.24, was amazing. She diagnosed her, she was compassionate, listened to everything I shared about what's going on with Sweet Pea. Fantastic experience: I can't say enough kind things about this vet hospital!! They're a bit more expensive than other vets but I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for. Everyone at CVVH is kind and a pleasure to work with and the hospital is amazingly clean. I was sad to hear they are no longer a 24 hour "emergency" vet hospital as this was one of the reasons I chose them to care for my dogs. Dr. Ohm is fantastic and I'm so glad he is there now full time! We recently saw Dr. Salas for our new puppy's wellness exam and she was so sweet and very thorough. You cannot go wrong with CVVH, the absolute best at what they do!!

Negative experience: We have been going here for 5 years for our two dogs. Decided to leave because anytime there is an issue with the dogs, they are not able to diagnose and give a blanket of causes along with a range of meds. Last visit was more than $800 and none of it worked. There is a petit vet there who spoke for more than an hour when I brought my dog in to ask for worm meds. I even mentioned to her I got to go to pick my child from school and even then she would not stop talking and kept on about all possible things that could go wrong with the dog.

Fantastic experience: While there have been changes to how this veterinary practice is run (hours, handling of emergencies), my pet's most recent visit went very well. It was easy to schedule an appointment and Dr. Salas was attentive and answered all questions. Most importantly, my cat was calm throughout the entire visit. I would highly recomment Conejo Valley Veterinary Hospital.

Fantastic experience: We boarded our dogs here for several days and Conejo did a wonderful job. The kennel manager was very professional and the staff was great too. The kennels and facility were clean. I appreciate the strictness of making sure the animals are all up to date on their medical records. When I picked up my dogs, the staff brought my dogs to me one by one so I was not overwhelmed while loading them into the car. I'm always scared about who I am leaving my animals with, but Conejo made me feel like my dogs would be AOK - they were returned to me clean, happy and healthy.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to CVVH for probably 3 years. My small dog ended up having many issues and had to be brought in and stayed for days for pancreatitis. It ended up to be chronic and all the help and support made it much easier for me to navigate thru to a new normal. Then it came time when my dog was ready to lay her head down for the last time. My feelings over the situation was taken to heart by all Dr Kane and the rest of the staff and I was supported in my decision when to say goodbye. I am excited to start afresh with a familiar medical team to care for my new puppy for years to come. As for prices. I am sure you can find cheaper. But there are places that are astronomically more as well. I find the pricing fair and upfront. I was even charged too much for something and at a future visit I was told I had a credit so my current bill would be less (it happened twice and it was not much … around $9 once and I think $20 the other time … but it was much appreciated)

Fantastic experience: I brought my baby boy here back in September so this review is long overdue. The staff here are truly wonderful people. My baby is a 5 pound chihuahua mix and he was having severe food allergies. Dr. Jeffrey Ohm (not sure if I spelled this correctly) was amazing; he told me to try feeding him cod and so far so good knock on wood. I highly recommend this pet hospital!!

Fantastic experience: The team at Conejo Valley Veterinary Hospital is stellar. They care. They are also very knowledgeable and give you plenty of time to ask your questions and discuss your concerns. They are efficient and get you in on time. I'm always impressed with the entire team, from check in to the vet techs to the doctors.

Fantastic experience: Our visit was prompt, quick and easy. My cat had a ball stuck to one of his claws and was in pain. He left the hospital without any pain and comfortable. The staff at CVVH was very friendly and professional.

Fantastic experience: Ryan and Haley went out of their way to make sure our dog Sig was as comfortable as possible during our emergency visit. We had to rushing to the closest open Vet hospital after he got bit at the park. Sig is always super nervous at the vet. Knowing he likely needed stitches we were thinking this was going to be a very rough visit. But honestly Ryan and Haley went above and beyond to get him to feel as relaxed as possible. Thank you for making what could have been a very rough evening into one that was the best it could be under the circumstances. Yes, he got stitches but he also made two new friends.

Negative experience: I decided to go with this pet hospital because of so many great reviews and the first appointment went amazingly well. I brought my dog in and she saw Dr. Ohm who was very thorough, kind, and gave practical options for what we could do to help my dog. However, once we started asking clarifying questions to make sense of everything their attitudes changed and we started to get the run around. Originally we were supposed to get a CT scan to see if she had a tumor behind her eye and if so would do a full enucleation and if not, we would just do a third eye removal. Dr.Ohm made it very clear that third eye removal surgeries are very common and he’s done them plenty of times and only takes about 5 minutes. So we agreed to do the CT scan but after reviewing her medical records he didn’t think it was necessary and Rebecca the office manager called to let me know that it would be best to have their in house eye doctor take a look at her. I was still concerned about the CT scan because if there is a mass might as well remove the whole eye. She got the eye doctors second opinion and said she also agreed it was not medically necessary but would need to have full appointment before scheduling surgery. We agreed and had the appointment and the eye doctor, Dr. Yokum, said she never said that and that she’s not an ophthalmologist or an eye specialist. So now I’m confused. During the appointment she didn’t even know how to use the eye pressure tool, the vet assistant had to show her. She said third eye surgeries were not common and she’s only done one so I didn’t feel comfortable having her do my dogs surgery. I let Rebecca know this and requested for Dr.Ohm to do it and she said no he can’t spend time during urgent care to do a surgery. But he originally was going to do it with no issue so what changed? Now I get to start this whole process over while trying to get care for my dog. So not only did we get the run around, get pawned off to a doctor that isn’t even an eye doctor or eye specialist as we were told, the office manager lied to us, bread crumbed us, and eventually sent us on our way, which we anticipated because of the change in behavior and response. If advocating for my dog and asking clarifying questions when things don’t add up causes this, then so be it. Terrible experience and huge waste of time. Do not recommend.

Positive experience: The staff got this to 3 stars -- they are quite good. Nice to see folks taking pride in what they do. Great petside manner. My dog had an obvious infection and needed antibiotics. I'm not sure why vets recommend blood tests to "rule out other things" when people doctors don't do that (I declined the blood test). My mistake was not to take the Rx elsewhere. It cost $98 for 14 tablets. The same Rx would be $16.50 online. I'll happily pay a markup for the convenience, but what they're doing is gouging.

Fantastic experience: I was so impressed with every staff member I encountered. Bless them all for staying open during COVID19 pandemic. Dr. Kummerfeldt was extremely detailed with his explanations, repeating himself when I needed it, with patience. He called with the lab results as soon as he had them, which was amazing. He gave me instructions carefully on observing symptoms. They took great care and caution to protect staff and customers from the virus as well. And he explained what procedures could wait to avoid unnecessary costs. Couldn’t figure out how to do another review so …. Update 2021-07 I went again recently due to my Non emergency vet saying I needed an ultrasound. At Conejo, Dr Kelly did the ultrasound and gave me option of doing additional exam and consulting with me directly or instead consulting with my regular non emergency vet, thus saving the trouble of exam, meaning less kitty stress and money savings for me. I saw Dr Whelan after that who also saved me unnecessary costs and drama for kitty by suggesting Options of less intrusive possibilities other than biopsy first. He also explained in great detail about why he made certain assessments and judgments. Which I sorely needed as I hate not understanding the why of treatments. I have such faith that even though it’s a drive for me from out of town, I felt it would be easier to use them from now on as my routine vet as well so that everything is in one place since the issues will be ongoing. (Digestive disorder likely ) Each time I talk to others in the waiting room they rave about this place. Sometimes travelling quite some distance to attend. Update : I forgot to say they text after the appt to follow up and even answer questions via text from that post visit text trail. How many companies do that? Incredible. It makes the client believe they actually care whether your pet gets better. And every single staff member is polite patient and friendly. Even though I’m usually wigged out when I arrive. Update 2023-10-21 Apparently I can’t do a new review once I’ve done one and I can only edit old ones. I went again today and am so impressed with how careful everyone is with the pets’ mental health. If a cat is nervous they will let it wait with its “cat mother” in a private quiet room while blood tests results are being processed and even allow checkout and payment in same private room. They are so good with questions and never rush the client. They all seem to love animals. Dr Ohm was very detailed in his explanations. He was extremely attentive to urgent situations and quick to assess. It was clear they would only do necessary procedures and not take advantage financially of client worry. There is such a relief in that kind of trust in an agency. It’s no wonder every time I go there it’s busy and there are people coming from all different places, even as far as LA.

Negative experience: Pet owners, BEWARE. Twice my cat was returned to me from this place shaking in fear with her fur, as well as her new splints, soaked in urine. My cats have been coming to this veterinary hospital for years, but I won’t ever come back here after the experience I had when my cat tore a ligament. Before I knew what the problem was, I brought her in immediately while she was limping and crying in pain, and after being examined, was sent home with nothing but pain medication. With no improvement, we returned the next day. I want to note that in the exam room I could hear the staff behind the door yelling, joking, and saying a lot of expletives, which disturbed my already anxious cat. While the doctors seemed to be friendly and reassuring, I got no direct answers about her condition and my cat was then sent home with a splint that was put on incorrectly. I know this because I took my cat to another vet after this vet told me to go somewhere else as they didn’t have the equipment to image her ligaments. My poor cat was howling in pain all night because of how poorly the splint was done. Twice she was carelessly handed over to me with her new splint soaked in urine, which could’ve caused dermatitis and should’ve been redone immediately. At my new vet, she never once went home shaking or covered in urine.

Fantastic experience: Friendly and understanding staff, great doctors, and they really care about all animals. They are currently saving my cat's life and are giving me constant updates on her treatment and progress. The best vet we've ever been to!

Fantastic experience: Below is my review from when I first brought my new rescue dog to CVVH, 8 years ago. She has been a patient there throughout the years. I brought her in today for the doctor to look at her again due to the lab tests that were done yesterday. All I can say is we continue to get amazing team work from everyone. The communication is wonderful! I know my best friend continues to be in the best hands!! 8 years ago…. I finally got my wish and was able to rescue my first dog. The night I brought her home she began coughing and wouldn't eat. I called CVVH the next morning and they gave me an appointment right away. They asked that I call them from the car when I got there and they would come get us when a room was available. The staff was so professional and sweet. We were in and out quickly with the medicine to make my new best friend fell better! It made me feel good that they not only took care of my dog....but also were looking out for the other dogs. I have found a lifetime vet to take my new friend.

Fantastic experience: Conejo Valley Veterinary Hospital is a true gem for pet owners in the Thousand Oaks area. I took my Golden Retriever there last Sunday and the emergency access charge was very reasonable - maybe $40 more than their normal charge for a non-emergency, non-Sunday visit. The staff are all super friendly and helpful. The Vet Doc, Dr. Ohm (I’m sure I’m spelling his name wrong), is very nice and patient, taking his time to explain everything, and he’s obviously a really smart guy. The biggest problem I had was that they finished too fast. I was all set up to get some work done on my phone (I figured I’d be there for a few hours) and they were already done with everything for my Golden in around 30 minutes. Bottom line, it looks like we found a new vet for my best friend. Trust me, the place is great - you won’t want to take your own best friend anywhere else.

Negative experience: Waited almost 6 hours to be seen… they said it’s because they had 3 critical others to deal with but they were out before us and we got there BEFORE them and we still waited another 3 hours after these patients left. We were the only ones there at that point. My cat had an eye injury and there was no reason it should’ve been that long. Having my cat sit in a room by itself that long. Did a follow up with my vet 2 days after. Took them 30 minutes tops, to look at the eye, give their consultation and run tests. NEVER coming here again.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful experience. My Doberman had an a nasty abscess between her toes. On Monday I took her to a vet in my neighborhood that we had never been to before but was needed to get her seen as our vet was booked. After a lengthy wait the doctor came in and kept calling her “him” which seemed weird. He wanted to go in from the bottom of her paw and see if a splinter or some foreign object was there. The doctor left the room and 2 techs came in with an estimate of costs for a $1,200. surgery! WHAT!… a surgery? Nope, not my pup. Seemed EXTREMELY excessive. I said NO and asked for an antibiotic shot and some pills and got out of dodge. The next day her paw looked bad and I was worried about her. I called my regular vet and FOUR other vets and NOT one place could get her in because they were booked. My mom and sister go to Conejo Valley so I called them even though we are in Encino. I was told no problem and we could bring her in right away. We got there and were taken immediately. The nicest Dr. Hughs came in. He wanted to lightly probe the area to check to see if anything was in there (there was not) and flush it out to clean it. No surgery suggested. He did his thing, bandaged her up sent us off with more antibiotics and sent us on our way for $277.00 which for a vet seemed reasonable. In and out within an hour. She is doing great. Was so pleased with the offices, the people, how clean it was, the speed in which they saw us and the very confidence and conservative way they treated her. Received a follow up email the next day to see how she was and if we had any questions. I left a message and they got back to me very quickly with my answer. Loved how professional and competent it was. It’s now Thursday and the abscess has gone down significantly and she’s doing great. Found our new vet! Couldn’t be happier with them.

Negative experience: Our poor dog has a very puffy eye, itching etc. I called today and she called me back and said in order to accelerate our wait time, we would need to pay a $500 deposit to just start!!! I told her shame on you taking advantage of us. Wow, I understand everyone needs to keep their doors open, but whatever happened to being fair and honest? God bless them and hope one day the do the right thing.

Positive experience: Staff was really nice. Taking my sick mutt on a weekend- Great! Everything was 5 star IMHO until I decided I would hold off surgery and find a better price. They gave me all the medical records except the one I needed - The ultrasound. I can not even get a quote from other doctors or hospitals with out this. I did learn a lesson. My lesson was, before I pay a huge bill at a hospital, I will make sure I have all the medical records in hand.

Fantastic experience: Our cat picked a Holiday weekend to develop a an infection that seemed to be getting worse. They were our only option after spending the entire day looking for a place to have her seen. I had to rate them a 10. because in spite of the stress they must have been under due to what must have been an unending workload, they did get us scheduled in and did a wonderful job of care. Pet care is somewhat pricy at all times, but the bill was not unreasonable considering the circumstances.

Negative experience: We brought our extremely sick, old cat last Wednesday to be euthanized and were charged for Conejo Valley Veterinary Hospital's services. Almost a week later we received a call from a third party crematory company alleging we owe them $200 for a cremation. No one at Conejo Valley Vet Hospital stated that we would be owing any more money than the large amount we had already paid for their services. Thus, we reasonably assumed that Conejo Valley Veterinary Hospital would be disposing of the remains like every other vet we have ever used during this sad family experience. In addition, after speaking to the crematorium, we were informed that not only did Conejo Valley Vet Hospital fail to inform us of this important fact, but then went on to instruct the cremation company to do a very expensive private cremation which I obviously never had agreed to. Bad internal communication all around at this company.

Fantastic experience: I'm giving Conejo Valley 5 stars despite them not being able to see my pet during my last ER visit solely because of the level of compassion and care that I and others waiting with me had experienced. I brought in my rabbit late on a Monday night because he had not been eating or pooping regularly for the last two days. We ended up having to wait over two hours because of unforeseen circumstances with inpatient dogs and additional dogs who had presented with much more life-threatening conditions than my rabbit was experiencing. We had been checked on twice during our wait with updates, the second one being done by the ER supervisor Jessica who kindly explained the situation to us about the extended wait times. Considering the severity of the other animals that came in after me, all I wanted to make sure was that my rabbit was stable since I was certain he wouldn't be seen that night and she assured me he was, but also that, should things go south immediately after, she would take us in without question. I was not disappointed that my rabbit was unable to be seen -- it's an emergency room after all -- however, that experience assured me that, should I ever have to bring him in for a life-or-death situation, they would have taken him immediately without question.

Fantastic experience: Conejo Valley Veterinary Hospital provides expert care with utmost compassion! We had an urgent care situation that happened a couple days ago, our current vet could not bring us in so we were referred to call CVVH and we are so grateful we did! From the moment we called to the moment we walked out the door we were all treated with the best care and warm kindness. They were able to quickly schedule the surgery that our boxer needed and we have full faith that the vet surgeon and staff will do all they can to ensure it is successful. We highly recommend them and will now be patrons for life!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing staff of Veterinarians and Vet Techs. I have had 3 aussies in the past 3 yrs leave this earth and have gained 2 new furry babies, both of which have gotten the best of care from all the various doctors at CVVH. Lovely people and they take great care of your animal first & foremost.

Negative experience: I brought my dog here on 1/23/23 because she was having difficulty breathing so I took her around 9 in the morning. When the vets took her back they said her breathing was “not as severe” as other dogs they have seen, and was borderline. Ok? I’ve taken care of my dog for the past 14 years and I’ve never seen her have this much of a hard time breathing. They told me it would be best to take some x rays and blood samples to figure out what was going on and so I agreed, anything to help her feel better. Turns out from the x rays that most likely she had a heart murmur, causing her to have difficulty breathing. The vet said she had about a year left. They suggested on taking her to a cardiologist and sent me home with medication to help. I left feeling uneasy and my dog still not breathing properly. About five hours later my dog passed away in my arms and I rushed her to this vet again. The vet said there was nothing he could do and that her heart was “different”. Me, alongside my family were heartbroken. I don’t understand, they said she had a year left? Why would they suggest a cardiologist for my dog if they knew she was going to pass the same day? I’m angry, I paid nearly $1,000 for my poor dog to pass away the same day. I wish they gave me an option to put her to sleep that morning rather than have her suffer for five more hours. This review is meant to warn pet owners, if you know something is not right TELL THEM! Listen to your gut. However the women who took our dog back to groom her one last time was very sweet and comforting. This is more for the vet that misled me.

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough words of praise for Dr Cyrus, she was so caring and gentle with my dog Magnolia. You can really see that she really loves animals and wants to help as much as possible. I took my dog in on Friday as an emergency walk in, where the staff got me in immediately to see Dr Cyrus who was very attentive and took time to talk me through her assessment of my dog and the recommended path forward. She even called me on Saturday to check in and see how she was doing. So grateful for the amazing care she and the entire office provided, it eased my mind knowing that Magnolia was so well taken care of. I would give 10 stars if I could.

Fantastic experience: Brought my dog, at about 8, on a Wednesday night. I called first and asked about the wait time, which was about 2 hours, and because of the situation, I was willing to wait for the two. I drove there, arrived, and my dog was quickly triaged. She was brought right in, and after staying for about an hour, she was all settled in over night. She can be a nervous dog, so I really appreciated how kind they were to her. When I picked her up the next day, she was sleepy, but not stressed, and I had a very sensible medication plan for the next week. In short, excellent people and care!

Fantastic experience: The staff and veterinarian were quick to respond during our time of need and they really went out of their way to make sure that my dog was stable and comfortable. The doctor was very knowledgeable and his care and concern for the well-being of my pet were genuine. Overall, our experience there was amazing. Fantastic experience: I have used both the day care facility and the Veterinary Hospital as well. My dogs LOVE going to day care here! Staff is amazing...attentive, compassionate, engaging and always letting me know how the did that day. The Veterinary Hospital is top notch. All the vets there are wonderful. I did have an emergency with one of dogs where we had to put him down in the middle of the night and the vet that was there could not have been more compassionate and loving...I cannot speak highly enough of Conejo Valley Veterinary Hospital.

Fantastic experience: My sweet cat,Puck had to get a procedure done to help ease bladder pain . After calling SIX different vets with over 6+ hrs of a wait, I reached conejo. Greeted by Miles and instantly felt calmed down. Our visit was an overnight Er visit. Upsetting, tiring and the staff was so kind. We got in so quickly in what supposedly was a saving grace pocket window. So blessed I love my boy and he is doing so much better immediately!! Thank you!!!!

Fantastic experience: We have been taking our animals to Conejo Valley Veterinary Hospital for years in emergency/end of life situations and switched to using them as our primary Veterinary service 3 years ago. The staff are wonderful with all the animals and pet parents. They allow us to bring our 2 dogs and 1 cat to the same appointment room so we can accomplish regular check-up dates with one visit rather than 3. Pharmacy on premises is also convenient. The facility is very nice and clean. Although we have not used the daycare or boarding to date, it is nice to know those services are available if we need them.

Fantastic experience: During my time of desperation they put us at ease. My rabbit was suffering with GI and we couldn’t see our regular vet. Two shots & three medications we ended up with a almost 400$ bill but believe me when I say it’s beyond worth it. Staff is so caring and friendly. Super sensitive to your pets needs. Doc was super reassuring and provided great care. Super far from us but I do highly recommend and suggest for anyone who may be in need of their care.
