Fantastic experience: This is the BEST emergency vet hospital in the area. They saved my senior mini poodle’s life by identifying the spleen tumor quickly and operating on him! Dr. LoSasso and staff are compassionate, knowledgeable and professional. I’m so thankful to all of them and highly recommend them for excellent care.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience (and your kind words). We were just happy to be here for you and your pup when he needed us!

Fantastic experience: Thank you Dr. LoSasso, Dr. Miller, and everyone we met in the hospital for your care and compassion. Our little Stanley passed away, but I know that you did everything possible for our sweet boy. This is an incredibly painful time, but my husband and I will always remember your kindness. Thank you.

Carolyn, we are so sorry for your loss. He was such a sweet boy, and your family did everything for him. None of you, least of all Stanley, deserved such an aggressive disease process at such a young age. My heart goes out to you and and your family.

Fantastic experience: Happily, we can say that Dr Lo Sasso and his team are FANTASTIC! With three additional Veterinarians and a large hospital staff (admission to discharge - yes, JUST like a ‘real’ hospital) this facility is equipped with everything needed to give your fur-baby the very best of care. Sadly, as the parents of the lovely Zelda, a Great Pyrenees-Australian Cattle Dog counter-surfing puppy we have used Frisco Emergency Pet Care three times in the last 10 months. From intake to discharge the staff and doctors were compassionate and caring (in addition to professional, skilled and efficient.) Each morning of our baby’s stay we received an update via phone from the doctor on shift, followed by a text from the vet tech with a photo of our girl saying, “Good morning Mom!”. We received another text and photo in the late evening saying, “All tucked in for the night!” With everything from a state of the art surgical operating room, to an indoor turf area surrounded by a sidewalk for all of your baby’s bathroom needs this hospital lacks nothing. No one wants their furry loved ones to be in a hospital, but if need be, THIS is the one to use.

Kathy,

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience (and highlight parts of this hospital no one talks about), and all of your kind words!

Taking photos of our patients to share with their families at home might sound silly to some, but we find it brings great comfort to pet parents whose fur babies are in a hospital!

I certainly hope your silly Zelda girl can find a way to stay out of trouble - she's a delightful creature, and we love having her here, but no one wants to be a frequent flier at the ER...

Fantastic experience: BEST PET CARE FACILITY I HAVE EVER BEEN TO!!! Frisco Emergency Pet Care took amazing care of my pup from start to finish. I had arrived with a suddenly blinded dog and an array of hardships happening in that week. The facility was both clean and welcoming. The front desk attendant was sweet, helpful, and quick. Nurse Shannon took her time with every step that would be taken in the process as well as providing estimates up front for all services. Dr. Miller was also incredibly wonderful. He took care of both my state of being that particular day and my dog with the up most of professionalism and empathy. Both Shannon and Dr. Miller gave me all authority and respect in the medical path we chose to take. They understood the circumstances at hand and supported me in the decisions I deemed best for my pup and family. I have never been to a facility better than this for my dog. Thank you again for everything you did in office to see us as an individual patient and not dollar signs! I would recommend Frisco Emergency Pet Care to everyone I know!! This place is a 100/10!

Kiffin,

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience and opinion, it means a lot! It's a given that ER vets would show compassion to your pet, but our entire team, from the front desk to the doctors, are dedicated to treating YOU with compassion and respect. Part of that is making sure you understand what is going on, and what your available options are - how can you make good decisions if you don't have the information? We want to help you make the best decision for your pet and your family - the best decision for this hospital never comes into play, and it shouldn't!

Fantastic experience: We cannot say enough good things about Frisco Emergency Pet Care. Our puppy, Kittu, swallowed a sock and needed emergency surgery to have it removed. From start to finish, the care we received was truly outstanding. Dr. Henderson and Dr. LoSasso were phenomenal. They took excellent care of Kittu, explained everything clearly, and made sure we felt informed and reassured at every step. Given the inclement weather conditions, we know the staff was already under a lot of pressure, yet they handled everything with professionalism, compassion, and calm. What really stood out was the constant follow-up and communication. The team checked in with us regularly, answered our many questions patiently, and was available by phone almost 24/7 whenever we needed updates or reassurance. That level of dedication made an incredibly stressful situation so much more manageable. Kittu received amazing care, and we felt supported throughout the entire process. We are thoroughly impressed with the doctors, technicians, and support staff, and we are deeply grateful for everything they did for our little guy. They truly deserve our highest recommendation.

Kishore,

Thank you for taking time to leave such kind words. We were happy to help your sweet (but a little naughty) puppy!

That ice storm weekend was quite the time for everyone, and we hope it doesn't happen again (although it is times like those that we are so thankful that we have a generator, and are not dependent on the Texas power grid in times of emergency). We will be here, rain or snow or dark of night...

No one likes their family to be in the hospital, we get it! We want you to know what is happening with your precious gift - that's why we contact you at least twice daily (and text pictures when we can).

We hope Kittu never needs emergency help again, but if he does we will be here for him (and for you).

Fantastic experience: We had received great care under the worst of circumstances. My dog was attacked, viciously by a neighborhood dog. We rushed her in and the staff made us feel like they truly cared about her. Dr. LoSasso Performed surgery last night and she is home with us today. He has continued to answer questions for us along the way, even after we returned home. I hope to never have to go back to an emergency situation with my sweet dog, but if I do, this would be the first place I would go. The communication has been amazing and the empathy is unmatched .Thank you, Bailey, Dr. LoSasso and the staff.

Thank you, Jennifer, for taking the time to share your experience. Helping pets and families through trauma (and watching your dog get attacked by a bigger dog is the definition of trauma!) is why we are here, and I'm glad we could be here for you.

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough about the ENTIRE staff that helped my pup Coco. I thought we were going to lose her (toxin poisoning), but the doctors & staff had me get in touch with the Poison Control Hotline & with the help of their certified toxicologist, came up with treatment that literally saved her life. I wish I had everyone's name that helped me, but it was the overnight crew that was there Monday late afternoon when I brought her in. Coco is doing incredibly well -- THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Frisco Emergency Pet Care
Frisco Emergency Pet Care

Emy, grazie for taking the time to share your experience. To be completely transparent, we don't have a toxicologist on staff, but use the services of Pet Poison Helpline.

Coco was exposed to ivermectin, which is an anthelmintic (kills worms) that has been said to cure everything from Covid to cancer. These claims are dubious at best, but the really scary part is that no one ever talks about side effects, and they can be severe, in dogs or in people!

Some dogs have a mutation that make it difficult to metabolize certain medications, including ivermectin, so the public really needs to know that this medication is not innocuous.

Fortunately, Coco's toxin was fat-soluble, and we were able to give her a special form of lipids to absorb the poison.

We are so happy to hear that Coco is doing well!

Fantastic experience: The staff and doctors at Frisco Emergency Pet care are the best veterinary experience I’ve ever had. My sweet Lilly suffered from a seizure, and the staff and doctors helped me make the decision to help her cross the rainbow bridge. She was my service animal, and my child. I never thought I’d ever have to write a review like this, but their compassion and empathy helped me through the worst time in my life. To the staff, thank you.

Frisco Emergency Pet Care
Frisco Emergency Pet Care

Gillian, we are so sorry for your loss of sweet Lilly. Those decisions are always difficult - even when we can clearly see the need from Lilly's point of view, it is an agonal decision to make and a huge burden to bear. I'm glad our team was able to help you through this!

Euthanasia is one of the most, if not THE most, important service provided to pet owners. I personally feel strongly about making sure it is done as peacefully as possible, for the sake of our patients, their families, and our staff. It's why I wrote a book on the subject in 2012, it's why we have our comfort rooms equipped the way we do, and why we have a social worker on our team.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, especially in your time of grief.

Negative experience: Based on this experience, I would recommend considering other local emergency clinics. In fact, we stopped by a newly opened ER in Prosper on our way home and were treated far more appropriately.

Frisco Emergency Pet Care
Frisco Emergency Pet Care

Mr. Ausenbaugh, reading through Samson's history, physical exam results, and the notes of your conversation with our DVM, I would be very interested to learn more about how your treatment was "inappropriate."

I understand you were agitated that we asked you to remove the bandages and stays from her ears after her recent cropping, but this was out of respect for your property, not our willingness to provide care.

Please email me at [email protected] so that I can better understand your experience.

Thank you.

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough good things about this facility. I came home to find my sweet boy had passed during a holiday and felt a little helpless with options. I brought him in and they immediately showed compassion and empathy for me. I wasn’t just another person in the building- they made sure that I was emotionally ready to leave and safe to drive. They had good urn options and gave me an imprint of his paw to take home that day. They also have staff assigned to you to help you through the time as well as support group meetings. It was such a hard day and they took a lot of weight off my shoulders

Frisco Emergency Pet Care
Frisco Emergency Pet Care

Paige, we are very sorry for your loss. Few people ever consider what they will do if they come home to find their pet deceased, and feeling lost and helpless is natural and common. I'm glad our team was able to help you through this process. Compassion is one of our core values, and it applies to our patients' families as much as it does to our patients themselves.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. It can be especially hard to leave comments during the grieving process. Please don't hesitate to come to our monthly support meeting (generally the first Tuesday of the month).

Fantastic experience: I initially took my dog in for an injury which turned into an unexpected nightmare. Sadly, I had to make the heartbreaking choice to let my boy go. The staff & doctor were so compassionate and caring. They never rushed my family and gave us our time to love on our boy for as long as we wanted. They were very respectful and offered support where we needed it. They even called a couple days later to offer counseling services and mailed a condolences card. I appreciate their kindness through such a difficult situation.

Mylinda,

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review and share your experience. I'm glad Charlie is doing well. These Cavalier spaniels are the sweetest creatures, but they do struggle with valvular heart disease. In people, we'd just replace the valve, but that is not yet a viable option in dogs.

I'm glad we have the ultrasound and the training to evaluate lungs for the presence of fluid; this allows much more timely and more granular tracking of fluid in the lungs, and is less expensive and less stressful than radiographs.

Making sure that you understand exactly what Charlie's disease process is doing, and what you can do to optimize his care at home, is a big part of what we do. If you don't fully understand his condition, the treatment, the prognosis, and what to look for, how are you supposed to make intelligent decisions on his behalf? We take owner education very seriously - it's important. Think about the last time your physician gave you as much time as your veterinarian does...

Excellent bedside manner and cannot recommend this place enough.

Fantastic experience: Here is the updated review with Frisco Emergency Pet Care included: ⸻ Review: I cannot say enough about the compassion and dedication shown by the entire team at Frisco Emergency Pet Care. Our Great Dane wasn’t just a pet—she was truly a member of our family—and when her health took a sudden turn, the staff here worked tirelessly to give her every possible chance. From the moment we walked in, they treated her with such gentleness and respect. They explained every step, every option, and never once made us feel rushed or alone in making difficult decisions. Even in the most stressful moments, they were calm, patient, and hopeful right alongside us. Although our sweet girl’s story ended in the most heartbreaking way, I take comfort knowing that she was surrounded by people who genuinely cared for her. The doctors and nurses fought for her with everything they had, and they supported us with kindness that I will never forget. They made space for our tears, our questions, and our goodbyes. Losing her has left a huge hole in our hearts, but I’m forever grateful to the team at Frisco Emergency Pet Care for the love, empathy, and extraordinary effort they put into her care. We were lucky to have them during the hardest moment of our lives. Thank you, from the bottom of our heart, for everything you did for our baby girl.

Fantastic experience: If I could give 7 stars I would!! The entire staff at FEPC were outstanding!! Our sweet Pepper decided she would go counter surfing and found her meds on the counter and ate them all. Fortunately she only ate 12 tablets and it scared me enough to run her to the ER for evaluation. Dr. LoSasso explained the treatment option and sent us home with exactly what we needed to get Pepper healthy again. This was our first time to visit this ER, hopefully we won’t be back soon BUT if we need to, I would go back to them in a heartbeat!! I would 100% recommend this ER to my friends and family.

Fantastic experience: The service Frisco Emergency Pet Care was wonderful when we had to say goodbye to my college aged son's 14 year old daschund. They were really good about explaining the process to him, since he hadn't been through it before. Everything was done on my son's time, from before to after. They even had a social worker call the day after to see if we were needing any grief counseling resources. I would 100% recommend them for any needs you have.

Fantastic experience: I really do have to give this place a shoutout. Our 5 month old cat had been vomiting all of his food every time he ate, and then was just puking bile with blood in it. We took him in and the staff was immediately on it. We were there for 6 hours (a long time, yes) but we saw and spoke to 6 different employees in that time, including Dr. Miller, Jade, Rusti, and Morgan (I apologize for the 2 names I don’t remember). All were incredibly kind and thoughtful. They answered all of our questions, were extremely forthcoming with costs, did absolutely nothing without our signed consent, and were very thorough. The time we spent there didn’t feel wasted. Similar to hospital ER’s: things take time and this staff was doing everything they could. But our cats safety and wellbeing came first and foremost to them. Including when he got overwhelmed when trying to do an X-ray. They came and spoke to us about sedating him for the x-ray or alternatively taking him home with medication and continue monitoring. They did not want to hold him down or scare him more into the x-ray, which we greatly appreciated. If there’s an emergency and you’re concerned about your pet, this place will put you at ease. Highly recommend! Small edit: He is now home, a little slow and lethargic but not overly so (and we were told this would be the case), and immediately went to his food bowl to eat! I also read a review referring to Dr. Miller’s voice as overly somber, and would like to comment that from our perspective, he was just aware of our anxiety and concern, and made sure to not add to our overwhelming emotions by remaining completely calm, speaking straightforward, and carrying a conversation with us rather than bombarding us with medical jargon we didn’t understand. Anything we didn’t understand, he explained thoroughly. My fiancée (who was with me) is a DPT, I’ve grown up in a family of medical professionals, and we both found his bedside manner very kind and reassuring. The last piece is not to discredit anyone else’s review, but to give a different perspective from our particular experience here.

Frisco Emergency Pet Care

Jillian, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Hopefully your kitty never needs us again, but we will be here if he does!

And I have to agree with your take on Dr. Miller - while low and slow may make some folks feel he is too somber, that approach usually works well to keep everyone calm. There is enough excitement and fear in ERs to go around!

Fantastic experience: Unfortunately, on Friday night/Saturday morning, I had to say goodbye to one of my fur babies, Candy. The staff here were incredibly compassionate and caring, and they handled a very difficult situation with such kindness and professionalism. Candy had lost the use of her back legs, and my wife called ahead to let them know we were coming. When we arrived, the techs were ready and immediately helped bring Candy back to a private room. Throughout the entire process, they checked on her constantly to ensure she was comfortable and pain-free, giving her the best end-of-life care possible. The doctor was supportive, patient, and respectful—taking the time to explain everything clearly and gently. The cost was very reasonable, especially given the level of care and compassion we received. I truly wish every veterinary office cared for their patients the way this one did for Candy. I won’t hesitate to return for any future needs. Thank you for treating her, and us, with such genuine compassion. ❤️

Thank you for your kind words, Janell. Although it may seem counter-intuitive, I think that one of the most important tasks we have as veterinarians (if not THE most important task) is helping you know when to say goodbye, and making that process as pain-free and dignified for you and your pet as possible. We take that responsibility very seriously (which is why we have a social worker in the first place). We were honored to be part of your process, and we are all sorry for your loss.

Fantastic experience: Took my 16 year old cat Callie to Frisco Emergency Pet Care last week when she was feeling poorly and I sure am glad I did. It was after midnight and I wasn't sure which emergency vet to visit but Frisco was the closest to me so there I went with Callie. She has several diseases that make her care a delicate balance of treatments. The staff at FEPC are simply great. They all gave Callie the care, attention and affection she needed to become more stable and well over five days. Regular status reports (by phone) were provided by the terrific vets as well as pictures of Callie enjoying the attention and love given her there. We're very fortunate to have such a vet clinic in our area and I highly recommend it. I'm very impressed with the care they gave Callie and it set my mind at ease at a worrisome time. FEPC is a top-notch veterinary clinic.

Fantastic experience: Tonight wasn’t my first visit here, but it was the hardest. After calling a couple other places to perform End of Life care for my Rylee Cat, I’m so thankful I called Frisco Emergency Pet Care. Due to the time of day, this also made the most logical sense anyway. They made this process so much easier and calmer than I could’ve hoped. Fantastic experience: Our little 15 year old Zeus was diagnosed with advanced stage kidney disease. The people at FEPC took him in for 2 days, got him to a point where we could bring him home and enjoy him in as good condition as possible before we provided him with his final comfort. All the vet techs and vets are awesome there, exercising compassion, good advice and counsel, all with the utmost patience and understanding of how important our pets are in our lives. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs emergency care or overnight treatment for their loving pets.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I'm so glad Zeus is doing better! And thank you for your patience - it was a busy weekend, and even though there were not a lot of cars out front, there were plenty of critical cases in the ICU that tend to tie the doctors up. We have to treat in order of severity, but I am glad we got sweet little Zeus hospitalized and then home!

Negative experience: ***UPDATE 8-30-25 HORRENDOUS experience with Dr. Miller. As you can see below, I'm editing a previously 5 star review. 2 years ago, I had an amazing experience at the FEPCs old location. I spent 2 years telling everyone what a good experience it had been. So when my dog had an emergency a few days ago, I came back to FEPC. My dog had been seen by her vet a few days prior for and I was advised to take her to an ER for IV fluids if she got worse over the holiday weekend- which is why we were at the ER. Dr. Miller came into our room with an over-performative somber voice and told us that he reviewed the medical records from my vet and my dog had weeks to months to live and he recommended immediate hospitalization "with tubes down her throat" with a specialist although, there may not be a specialist working this weekend. He didn't complete any new blood work, scans, labs, etc. We weren't there to get his opinion on our vet visit from 2 days ago, we were there because my dog was ill now and we wanted her assessed now. He also could not articulate what we gain from going to a specialist as my dog's condition can't be cured. Every single questions we had, he answered with "I don't know". His communication skills were horrible. We had zero clarity around what he was suggesting and worse—he seemed offended that we didn't understand him and were asking clarifying questions. The reason he was so confusing is because the truth is he didn't want to admit my dog and wanted to push us out the ER elsewhere but he couldn't outright say that. Imagine coming to an ER and being told by the doctor your dog has weeks to live and not only does the doctor have zero patience for the emotional experience you're in, but YOU have to be the one with the bedside manner accomodating the doctor's emotions. We advised we'd skip the specialist for now and would admit her for IV fluids and then meet with her normal vet after the weekend and discuss specialist referrals then (all services which are advertised on FEPCs site as services they provide). The tech came back with an $8,000 quote and it was obvious to us that he had inflated the quote because he didn't want the responsibility of admitting my dog. When we asked about the price being 4x what we were originally quoted, the tech came back with a new quote that was 3-4x less. Just unprofessional. I'm so thankful that we left and didn't leave my dog here. All he was worried about was the ER's liability. By his own admission, he's unqualified/unequipped to treat my dog yet he's perfectly qualified to tell me she has weeks to live. Very poor bedside manner. Then don't work at an ER. I'm disappointed by the dismissive, passive aggressive personalities at the new location and would suspect new management because my experience at their prior location was night and day. We went to a different ER who immediately saw us and took ultrasounds and imaging, she was admitted for IV fluids and released in fantastic shape 15 hours later. -- I googled emergency pet ERs after my dog was attacked by a neighbor's dog and Frisco Emergency Pet Care's high rating caught my attention. After my experience today, the high rating is completely justified. Dr. Dane was fantastic. I always feel like I have to anxiously micro-manage in order to ensure my standard is met but Dr. Dane made me feel like she was caring for my dog as if it was her own. She was thorough and thoughtful and explained the severity of the situation and our options with clarity and compassion. Every interaction I had (receptionist, intake nurses, vet, technician who explained our release paperwork and medication instructions, etc.) was a 5 star experience. I feel lucky and relieved to have found this place.

However, if you need an emergency treatment room in the area of Frisco, The Colony, McKinney; THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO! We had it programmed in our phone these past five years, for that "just in case situation." I suggest you make a contact with the address and number, because in an emergency or urgent care moment, you're not going to remember who, what, where. Get yourself prepared for this season of need. It's just like a human ER, it's going to cost and you will be there a while. However, the treatment plan based on what's going on will be the result of a conversation WITH you AND the Doctor. No pushy tests. What are the goals you are looking at, that brought you to the ER this day. And the costs IMHO are fair for what it is; An ER! You'll get an estimate (before medications) on costs based on what you decided to do. (Personal tip: Consider pet insurance if it is in your budget. Pick it up if you can, while they are young. They are like kids or anything else. They are going to get sick, hopefully not too sick. But we carry insurance for everything else we have). We are 100% satisfied with our decision and thankful FEPC was available. Both our Husky and myself were treated professionally, with courtesy and due medical care. Dr. Miller and the support staff on duty yesterday were excellent. We needed X-rays to rule out a possible intestinal blockage, done on site and read by certified radiologist off site. Full labs on site. Pharmacy also on site. Pretty much all there, to do what needs to be done! All within a new, clean medical facility staffed with technology out the kazoo and good people running the show, taking care of your family member and you in your time of need! Nothing good happens on a Friday evening, let alone a three day holiday weekend, when your regular vet is closed. And we could not wait three days plus to get him in to see someone. FEPC will take very good care of you, based on what I experienced yesterday with our Husky. Our Husky is home today with four meds recovering and feeling better. This is an unsolicited review. Good health and happiness to you and your family member always and forever!

Andy, thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review. Knowing who and where the emergency hospitals are in your area is an excellent idea (and along your route if you are traveling with pets), I wish more people were so prepared.

And you are right, nothing good or easy happens on holiday weekends, but we are here to help! Glad your Husky is doing better!

Fantastic experience: We had an emergency situation ~ 10:30 pm after a late working shift. After google search, we located the new address for Frisco Emergency Pet Care (we took our other pet to the prior location over 2 years ago). Now it's easy to find, right off Preston Rd. Martha answered the phone quickly; we were in a panic mode however Martha was able to ask the doctor about the situation and quickly answered the initial questions. We went in, and she situated us to the room right away. Nurse Raven then came in, gathered the details, and took our fur baby in to check vitals and see the doctor. We have to say, within a few seconds, of talking with Raven she immediately put us at Ease - calm, understanding, empathetic, and knowledgable. After the vitals been taking, Dr. Noguera (Dr. N) came in and provided the situation analysis as well as options. Her tonality super calm, and knowledgable. Although it is a bit sticky situation as our fur baby ate something he not supposed to, however the options (risk analysis) are presented in an easy to understand manner. Most importantly, we can feel the caring nature under Dr. Noguera's compassionate demeanor. From the initial call to our nurse, Raven, then Dr. Noguera, we are so thankful to y'all and the whole team at Frisco Emergency Pet Care. We will keep Dr. Noguera posted in the next few days. We would without hesitation to recommend Frisco Emergency Pet Care to any parents of fur babies. Thank you so very much!

Fantastic experience: Words can’t fully capture how wonderful Dr. Henderson is. He’s not only extremely professional, but also genuinely kind and caring. Truly an exceptional doctor. Of course, I hope I never have another pet emergency (lol), but if I do, I’ll definitely be asking for him again!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! I have to agree, Dr. Henderson is pretty great. So are my other full time doctors, Dr. Noguera and Dr. Miller. We certainly hope your sweet puppy doesn't need more emergency or after-hours care, but we'll be here for her (and for you) if she does...

Fantastic experience: They take care of your fur babies and treat you like family. The facility is clean, inviting and comfortable for those occasions that may take longer than expected. Emergency situations are never fun but our experiences here have made them less painful. The follow-up and personal touches provided make them a stand out in their field.

Fantastic experience: We have taken both of our dogs, and our cat here, and we absolutely love the staff and care they receive. The staff and vets are so kind and very communicative. Love the convenient location and the fact we never have to worry about where to take our animals in an emergency after hours.

Fantastic experience: Frisco Emergency Pet Care is a wonderful facility. They take care of you and your pet from the moment you check in to when you leave. They make sure you understand the pets condition and how to care for the pet once you take it home. They give you written instructions along with verbal instructions so nothing is left to chance. I felt like they really cared about what I wanted for my pet.

Fantastic experience: This is the absolute best animal emergency hospital in North Texas. They have in-house veterinary surgeons, and the facility is new, clean, and actually looks more like a miniature hospital for humans than a traditional veterinary hospital. My Scott American Bulldog, Rosie the Riveter, has been here twice. I live 30 minutes from this hospital and could have taken Rosie to several facilities closer to home, but I firmly believe my dog will get the best possible care at Frisco Emergency Animal. Hospital

Thanks for the kind words, Sharron. We're proud of our facility, but prouder of the team that makes this place go. We hope Rosie doesn't need us again, but we will be here if she does. Just to clarify, though, our doctors are good surgeons, and together we've performed thousands of surgeries, but they (we) are not board-certified surgical specialists.

Fantastic experience: I took my desperately ill kitten to Frisco Emergency Pet Care. They were wonderful. He was in their care for 3 days. The staff was always available for questions or info. They allowed me to visit him as many times as I wanted and at any time during the day or night. They were truly wonderful.

Fantastic experience: This emergency vet was recommended to me by my regular vet for my cat, Memow, that was experiencing kidney failure. Even though there was nothing to be done at that point after a series of tests, all of the employees were extremely kind, caring, transparent, and knowledgeable. The building seems brand new and it is very clean. This will be the place I take my animals in any emergency situation. I really could not have ask for a better experience, considering the circumstances.

Fantastic experience: My sweet Widget boy ended up with a pretty severe case of pancreatitis somehow and our primary vet and ANOTHER emergency vet recommended Frisco Emergency pet care to us when we quoted some area vets with the necessary capabilities to remedy. Given our financial constraints, they helped us come up with a plan of action to try to reduce unnecessary spending, including putting him on a new but effective medicine that treats this exact issue, doing an ultrasound as soon as was reasonable (the very next day to avoid after hours costs) to rule out any tumors that would have resulted in additional spending, and getting him to outpatient status as quickly as his body allowed by tapering off of injected medications. Keeping costs in mind, they did an excellent job of taking care of him and ensuring a successful outcome, in some cases sending us texts with photos to check in, allowing us to come visit while putting him in a comfortable place to work up an appetite, and listening to and adjusting the care strategy around tips we provided that helped cater to his preferences and behaviors. We are so grateful that the folks at Frisco Emergency pet care truly have their patients in mind because now Widget is at home, on the mend, and starting to feel like himself again. Thank you!

We are glad Widget is doing better at home! Pancreatitis is awful! We take pride in making sure you understand what is happening with your pet, but we also listen, too! No one knows Widget like you do, and we are all on the same team, working together to get these babies out of the hospital!

We are happy to use Cherry as a financing tool, to help make caring for your special family members less of a cash-flow challenge. This makes care more available to more people, and caring for pets is why we're here...

Fantastic experience: Absolutely the best emergency pet care!! My Lab was bit in the face by a snake. They were waiting outside to meet me, and the entire staff and Dr were amazing. Brandy was especially helpful, and she took great care of Riley and calmed me down with compassion and clear directions and information to care for Riley. I was in and out in less than an hour, and I can’t recommend this place enough. I hope to never have to take my dogs to the ER again, but if I do, I will go here. 5 stars, and I’m so grateful for you all!! Riley is doing great!

The doctor was amazing, and Duke was assigned his very own dedicated techs who took amazing care of him. The communication was excellent, the care was wonderful, and every single person we dealt with from the folks at the front desk to the vets and techs were kind, caring, and professional. Positive experience: Brought the cat in for vomiting on a Sunday night. Unfortunately it was shift change, so that can cause a delay as the off going briefs the on coming, and we understand that as both husband and I are in the health field. HOWEVER, after TWO HOURS of waiting with NO INFORMATION from anyone on ANYTHING, we finally asked what was going on. MaryAnn came right in then to brief us that there was an emergency and shortly afterwards Dr Noguera came in to brief us on what she found w the cat. Care after that was WONDERFUL and we were out of there 30 min later w a hydrated cat who was no longer vomiting. Our ONLY COMPLAINT was the lack of information from anyone for two hours as we sat alone in the waiting room. Again, husband and I are in health care and we understand the very fluid nature of the profession . We would suggest that Frisco Emergency Pet Care make a concentrated effort, ESP at shift change or whenever the dynamics change in the back to keep the waiting pet parents briefed. I don't think it is unreasonable to be briefed every 30 min. "there are 3 pets in front of you and we just had an emergency come in so it will likely be another 45 min before your pet can be seen, etc" or briefing on what is going on with your pet "We just started the IV and that should take 20 min and then we will do an x-ray and then the Dr will be back in to see you" etc. Thank you again for taking care of our cat and she is back to normal!

Fantastic experience: Cannot recommend this place enough! Our vet in Plano highly recommended Frisco Emergency Pet Care and I’m so glad they did! Everyone was so kind and took great care of our small puppy. The facility is very clean, nice, and seemed to have all of the current technology to be able to take the best possible care of animals. We called prior to arriving and someone was at the front desk ready to take our puppy back right away as soon as we arrived and did a brief check in. I appreciated the sense of urgency. The vets, techs, and other staff were all fantastic. They made what was originally a stressful health scare for our dog a very calm experience. We were given lots of options and pricing after they did the initial health assessment. Everything was explained clearly. We never felt pressured into doing a bunch of additional testing and we were able to choose which options we thought were best for our dog. The vet that worked with us was completely correct about the diagnosis she made and the various treatments we decided on worked well! Our visit was a few months ago and our dog made a quick recovery! She is back to her happy and healthy self! So thankful for you all!

Fantastic experience: Our dog, Flash, had to go to Frisco Emergency Pet Care while I was out of town due to back problems. The Vets and Techs on shift took their time to speak with a very emotional me on the phone and thoroughly explained everything going on with compassion. The wait time was long, but I was always kept in the loop with my dogs care. I was given very descriptive details and when it came time to talk further testing, I was shocked to hear that more was not necessary and they were starting with first steps for treatment. I truly believe the vets here care about your pets and have great communication skills. I was never rushed or made to feel bad for asking a million questions. Hoping to not have more emergencys, but this will be our spot if anything else ever comes up. Our dog is at home recovering and doing great! If the staff sees this, thank you for taking care of my baby boy and making me feel at ease when I couldn’t be with him.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. Sometimes the wait times get long in ERs, and ours is honestly a little worse than others - because we take the time with you, and every other owner, to make sure you understand and are comfortable with what is happening, and help you make good decisions for your pets. Our job is to treat you and your pet as if they are the only ones here, and doing that for everyone does slow the process a little. Our clients think it's worth it...

Fantastic experience: I came today with my sweet Pomeranian who had been battling congestive heart failure for 3 years. I didn’t want to drive an hour away to our vet, so I came here remembering how kind they were to me when my other senior dog died. I knew it was time to say goodbye and I was met with the utmost compassion, genuine care and bedside manner. I know this must be the hardest job in the world, but from the bottom of my heart I could not be more grateful for how peaceful you all made Bentley’s passing. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Fantastic experience: Took my sweet friend Jake to Frisco Emergency Pet Care for end of life treatment. Although Jake's condition was too advanced for recovery, the care and communication provided by the Veterinarian and staff was excellent. They stayed by his side, provided great information and guidance in diagnostics and care. They communicated openly and honestly up front about cost of care and prognosis with no leading or judgement in any decision we had to make. I highly recommend to anyone seeking emergent or end of life care.

Fantastic experience: I brought my 15-year-old dachshund beagle mix into FEPC after experiencing his first ever seizures. He had four seizures within about four hours. From arrival, meeting Kory and Dr. Henderson, they were both very calm and reassuring. They took a detailed history and treated me and my concerns with utmost respect and concern. My guy was admitted to FEPC for about 27 hours. They kept me informed via phone calls. They invited me to come visit. They even told me that he was not eating their food and encouraged me to bring his normal food from home. I met with Dr. Losso. He talked to me and listened to my concerns. When the time came, I was provided with an hourly flow sheet of what happened during his care, necessary medications and detailed discharge instructions.. Everyone from the physicians, the vet techs and the front desk were wonderful. I hope I never have to use FEPC again but, if I have the need, this will be the place I go.

Fantastic experience: I highly highly highly recommend Frisco ER Pet Care!!! My husband rushed our sweet Lola here after she ingested some prescription meds over the weekend and they were so incredibly attentive and thorough with her care. Fantastic experience: I have never experienced such compassion in the veterinary world. I brought my fur baby in over the weekend for a change in condition, i am a nurse and recognized the signs of impending death but wanted to be sure and wanted her to be comfortable. After exam, I was given clear and compassionate communication regarding her prognosis. Everyone I encountered was gentle but also clear without providing false hope or trying to talk me into unnecessary procedures. I will be forever grateful for every person I encountered here. I have terrible memories from a past end of life experience for a pet and this experience could have not been more different. I could never express the depth of my gratitude for taking such good care of my sweet Daisy, and myself. I even received a call today from a social worker just checking in with me. I don’t wish my situation on anyone, but I cannot recommend this facility enough. Thank you all.

Thanks for taking the time to share! We are happy to provide post-op care for pets after surgery with your family veterinarian - the immediate post-operative time is often the most critical. Fantastic experience: We were so pleased with the care they provided to our Vizsla. The doctors called when they said they would, they allowed us to visit any time, we were able to get through right away when we called for updates, the facility was very clean, and all of the staff we interacted with (front desk, techs, and doctors) were compassionate and knowledgable. Fortunately, this was our first (and hopefully last) visit to an ER, but they made Maverick's stay as comfortable as it could be--both for him and us. Would highly recommend this ER!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Our doctors call at the end of each shift, so you should always get at least 2 updates per day. Of course we let you visit your sweet boy, he's in a hospital, not prison! Just like people in a hospital, pets appreciate visitors, and it is important that you see him and understand his condition - you cannot make decisions for him unless you have all of the information. We hope you and your sweet Viszla never need emergency or after-hours care, but we will be here for you both if you need us.

Fantastic experience: Having found ourselves in a scary situation with our little pup while we’re were visiting our daughter, we originally went to Petvise Animal Hospital in McKinney and had him triaged with labs and initial fluids. Dr. Mir and his Vet Tech, Amanda, were awesome but suggested we take him to Frisco Emergency Pet Services where he could receive the emergency care he needed. We rushed to Frisco Emergency Pet Hospital where he was immediately taken back and they went to work. A couple of hours later with some discovery from our daughter’s patio, we found out exactly what was causing our baby’s issues. Dr Miller and the staff went to work flushing out our little boy’s system and he was as good as new. I HIGHLY recommend this pet ER. Thank you to all who helped take care of our boy and kept us informed every step of the way. If we lived in McKinney, this would be our vet team!

Fantastic experience: I’ve taken several pets here for end of life care and I had my first emergency visit yesterday with my Longhaired Miniature Dachshund. I brought her in due to shivering and an irregular gait and she ended up making a full recovery. The doctor, Nurse Taylor and receptionist were all understanding of my concerns. The doctor (I think her name was Dr.Stratford) did not nickel and dime me but instead gave me an estimate for all the options and reminded me that I could come back without a recheck fee within 72 hours which, in this economy, I greatly appreciated. Thank y’all again so much!!!!!

Fantastic experience: We want to thank the team and Specifically Dr Miller for providing excellent service in one of the toughest times of our life. Our Baby Diva was 15, and something internally caused fluid around her lungs resulting in low oxygen and her heart working too hard. Diva was in the ICU for 40 hours. Dr Miller was very honest/tender and direct. She had some improvements overnight, but the fluid in her lungs just wasn't clearing out. He wanted to help us make the best decision for our Diva Do. He likely could have left at the end of his shift , but instead he stayed with us so he could be the one ease all of our babies pain. We are devastated, but know in our hearts that we did the right thing for her. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! <3

Fantastic experience: I did not bring my dog here. However, I am so thankful and grateful for the receptionist and the tech. Since it is after hours and my VET office was closed, and I had questions about my dog after his dental cleaning today which I did not feel like his symptoms were normal. I called another ER VET before this one, the told me unless I bring my boy in, they would not know which was fair. However, when I called this ER VET the receptionist took her time to listen and to ask questions. Then, she transferred me to one of the tech. She talked to me and helped to answer my questions. Then, she was able to ask the VET for one of my questions and got back to me. Not on that she also told me the wait time period at her ER and told me if I need to bring my pup and be seen right away, she recommends to go to a different ER as their wait time is long and the VET is going to be in surgery. I share this story about this ER even though I haven’t been to it yet but the people here care truly and deeply for my dog’s health. I truly appreciate this and we need more of you guys out there! Thanks so much to the receptionist, the tech and the VET!

Fantastic experience: My dog Louie ate a corn cob, and was puking so it was best to make sure he was okay. The staff at this place was so amazing. Their prices were affordable in comparison to other emergency vets in McKinney & Frisco. And they were even kind to me in the waiting as it was going to take a couple hours to be seen. They even brought me water! The exam room itself was also very homey. I truly hope I never have to go to an ER for my dog again, but if I do, I’m going here! My dog ended up not needing surgery, but he sure got a lot of pets :) thanks guys!!!

Fantastic experience: Update 2025- had to bring our now 9yr old female dog in again Saturday night and again we received exceptional care and service. So happy that this facility is open 24-7!! 2023 - After taking our 8 yr old female dog to our regular Vet earlier in the day for some swelling on her mouth, we noticed about 8:30 pm that same night she seemed to be struggling to breath. We called to let them know we were on our way and arrived around 9:00pm. The took her back to triage right away. Everyone was super nice and they let us know what was happening throughout the process. After some tests she seemed to be breathing better and was more alert. Luckily there wasn't anything critically wrong and we were able to take her home. The entire staff are extremely caring and knowledgeable. If your fur baby needs emergency care I would highly recommended. This was our second time taking one of our dogs in and each time they took great care of them.

Fantastic experience: Staff and Dr were very helpful - took care of my issue with care and expertise. I felt very confident that my dog got the best care available, especially for it being so late at night. The price was also very reasonable - I've been to other emergency vet centers over the years and prices seemed to be inflated. That did not happen at Frisco Emergency - this will be my pet emergency go-to for any future emergencies.

Fantastic experience: The entire staff at Frisco Emergency Pet Care were kind, thoughtful and genuinely cared about getting our fur baby the right care. Dr Miller is truly one of the best vets I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She is incredibly knowledgeable, patient and took the time to answer all of our questions. Negative experience: I had a deeply disappointing experience at Frisco Emergency Petcare, particularly with the hospital technician and the hospital director, Rosalyn. When I requested my pet’s medical records before discharge, they falsely claimed that they were legally prohibited from providing them. When I challenged this, they misquoted the law in a misleading way. This lack of transparency completely eroded my trust in them. It became clear that they were trying to prevent me from seeking a second opinion, likely to secure the surgery revenue for themselves. Given their dishonesty, I couldn’t trust them to perform my pet’s surgery and had to go elsewhere. Pet care should be built on honesty and the best interests of the animal—not on deceptive practices. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone who values transparency and ethical care for their pets.

I am sorry that your visit was disappointing. Being able to trust your health care provider is critical to peace of mind when a family member is sick!

I agree, the advice that you were given "it is not legal to send incomplete medical records" was incorrect. After you reduced a 20-something nurse that doesn't speak legalese to tears, she won't forget the lesson, thanks for that. I'm sure that made you feel tough.

While it is our policy to generally hold on to records until they are complete (usually a matter of hours) to avoid misunderstandings or miscommunications, you are correct, it is not illegal to send them. I find it interesting that you took issue with Roslyn, who recognized this misunderstanding of the statute and apologized to you in person.

It might have been clear to you that we "were trying to prevent me from seeking a second opinion, likely to secure the surgery revenue for themselves," but this conclusion is false. We encourage second opinions and would never seek to prevent anyone from getting a second opinion - that is a disgusting and deeply offensive suggestion.

The reality is that one doctor juggling a dozen cases does not have the time to sit and complete your record when there are lives at stake. If your cat had been one of those, and he had taken that time for someone else, you'd be shouting just as loudly about that. As you are obviously aware, the law requires us to provide your records to you within 24 hours for emergency cases. We immediately sent you the diagnostic results as requested, and sent complete records within 8 hours.

At least your kitty was sweet, and we hope you were able to resolve her situation.

Fantastic experience: If I could give them 10 stars I would. The staff and Jeff and Dr. Miller were above and beyond and you could really tell they cared about my dog and me and what we were dealing with. They were so kind and personable. Spent a lot of time answering questions and were honest about cost and outcomes. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone. Thank you so much!

Fantastic experience: This location was suggested in a Facebook group in my complex/area, so this is why I choose this location. And I am very pleased that we did. Mandy was very welcoming when I called & answered the question that I had & if she wasn’t sure, she directed me to a medical tech. We arrived early in the morning & only had to wait an hour until we were seen. All the right questions & much needed questions were asked & no details were left out. Had to leave my baby for a couple of hours, as she needed the much needed bloodwork done to see what was going on. Jade & Dr.Miller called to provide me with updates, which helped my stress! When I arrived back just so I could be closer & wanted to wait however long for my baby, Tiffany provided a room for me to stay in & I was able to log on my labtop smoothly to work. The individual waiting rooms are perfect! Comfortable & nice in size! I didn’t have to wait in the lobby, which I loved! And I was able to get on the guest wifi with smooth access so I can work. Dr.Miller came in & shared all that was going on, what has been done, how my baby girl was doing & the options & direction on what was needed during this time for my baby. He was very patient with me, which meant a lot because this was all so new for me with the pet ER & the first time with us going through something. Dr.Miller shared not only what he knows, but offered honesty & did not try to push anything. When I started to feel stress & got emotional, he was supportive. He guided me through what was best for her & the process with what will be needed during her small recovery. I was very pleased & happy with my decision with coming here & now have an ER I know I feel my baby is safe at. Good location, nice area, clean, welcoming & kind staff & amazing doctors. Huge thank you to the team at FEPC.

Thanks for taking the time to leave so many kind words!

Virtually everyone that visits an ER has some level of fear or stress, so we understand where you're coming from. It is extremely important to all our team, including the doctors, that you understand what is happening with your pet. The only way you can make a good, informed decision is if you have the information (in English, not Latin or Greek). I agree, Dr. Miller does a great job communicating as a doctor AND as a fellow human!

Fantastic experience: I can’t thank the staff enough especially Mandy, for the compassion they showed on New Year’s Day when our beloved dog passed. Despite being a first-time visitor, they treated us like family. They provided a keepsake with his paw prints, fur, and kept his body until burial, easing our burden. They called and followed up with us few days after to see how we are and sent a card as well. Their kindness during such a hard time will never be forgotten. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: ***Please don’t fail to check the negative reviews - They are accurate, and people are not lying on social media. I made a grave mistake by not looking at them. Complaint Regarding Poor Communication and Customer Service: I have to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service and communication I experienced during a recent visit to your clinic. I recently moved to Frisco less than a month ago and had never interacted with your clinic before this incident. Unfortunately, my experience has left me questioning the quality of care provided to my pet. On 1/18/2025, I called ahead to check if the clinic was busy, as I needed immediate attention for my pet Sophie who has several underlying health conditions. Based on our conversation, I decided to proceed to the clinic, arriving at 7:45 PM. However, the experience from that point forward was incredibly disappointing. - The initial notes were only taken by a technician at 9:00 PM, an hour and fifteen minutes after I arrived. - It was not until after 11:00 PM that the doctor called me to discuss what was going on with my pet. - Shockingly, it took 24 hours from the time I arrived for me to have any face-to-face interaction with a veterinarian. Despite repeatedly informing staff of my pet’s underlying conditions and the need for urgent attention, it was clear that she was not treated as a priority. She was consistently bumped in favor of other cases, even though I emphasized her medical history. Furthermore, communication about my pet’s condition or even basic timelines was nonexistent unless I explicitly demanded updates. This lack of proactive communication left me feeling helpless and frustrated during an already stressful situation. None of the technicians I interacted with seemed confident in explaining the treatment my dog was receiving, further compounding the issue. I am extremely disappointed in the level of care and service provided, as I trusted the clinic to prioritize my pet’s well-being. I believe it is essential for their team to address these issues to ensure no other pet owner has a similar experience.

Frisco Emergency Pet Care
Frisco Emergency Pet Care

As I replied in my private email to you:
I understand where you are coming from; trust with primary caregivers is formed over time, and there is generally little time to establish this relationship in emergency hospitals, so trust relies on communication. I am sorry that I missed you in person last night, by the time I got to your consult room, you had left.

I can understand, when you have a pet that you care very deeply about, you want them to receive the fastest care possible. When I came on duty at 7:00 PM, I took over the care of 8 complicated patients, and before 9:00 PM I had 6 patients, including Sophie, to see. Sophie’s vital signs were taken at 7:42 PM, and again at 9:00 PM, and had not changed. She was examined, and I agree she was sick, but she was stable. Bloodwork was ordered to assess her hydration status, and I moved on to the French bulldog that was having trouble breathing, and the cat with a life-threatening heart issue. Because she was stable, and these other cases were not, they were given priority. Our system of triage is setup to see the most critical patients that need life-saving care at that moment first. She was seen ahead of other patients that arrived before her, as their conditions were also stable and their ailments less severe than Sophie’s.

I do not know which of the technicians you spoke with, but they could not have told you anything more than she was being treated for generalized gastroenteritis, consistent with her bloodwork and radiographs, history and physical exam findings.

I am sorry that you are disappointed in the level of service you were provided. We usually reach out to owners twice daily, more frequently if conditions change or significant diagnostic results are obtained. I can see why this disappointment makes you question her care, but her sudden turn on 1/19 and the development of severe icterus/jaundice was not the result of a lack of care, nor do I believe that it could have been avoided.

We will continue to triage pets according to their need on arrival. We will continue to do our best to keep our expected waiting time updated so that the front desk staff can set expectations regarding wait times, although this is varied depending on the severity of each case that comes in. We spend 3-4 hours of each shift discussing care with our patients’ families, trying to make sure that you have the information you need to make intelligent decisions for your beloved pet. This is not a responsibility that we take lightly, now, at any time in the past, or at any time in the future.

All are very true. I did not feel oversold on care and options, the people were compassionate and explained everything along the way. Fantastic experience: I took my pup Gomer Flynn in to them one night after I took him to my vet and was told he was in renal failure. The front staff was great in greeting me as I was holding my dog, crying and not knowing if he was going to make it. They escorted me and Gomer Flynn into a room and the intake tech was also nice and compassionate. There was a wait, but it's an ER. I understood and the front checked to see how I was doing periodically. The doctor came in and explained everything thoroughly and came up with a plan of treatment. What stuck out the most and I will never forget this is I was sitting on the floor holding my dog crying and the doctor sat on the floor with us and explained treatment for him. I didn't feel rushed. After I left Gomer Flynn, he was treated at the hospital for a few days. I was updated a couple of times a day of how he was doing. Got to visit him when I wanted to. I would let the front desk know what time I would visit, so I wouldn't have to wait for him long in the private room we had. I know this is long, but I am so grateful for all the staff that helped me through this difficult time and has given my pup a longer time to be with me. Now he's a spunky dog that is wanting to climb on furniture and take walks again. Would definitely recommend to friends and will use them in the future.

Thank you for taking the time to share! We are all happy that Lexi is back home!

Our job is to offer the best care and help you make decisions that make sense for you, your pet, and your family. Our doctors are paid by the hour, they are not paid on "production" ("commission" would also be correct, but doesn't sound as professional). They have no motivation to "sell" you something you don't need - our doctors and staff want the same thing you do, to provide excellent care until we can get her back home where she belongs!

Fantastic experience: My husband and I are beyond thankful to Dr. LoSasso and his amazing team. Our sweet bengal got ahold of a cat toy and ended up eating the toy, unbeknownst to us. It had bounced around her stomach for a month before we started noticing her becoming ill. The toy had eventually become a blockage, where she couldn’t keep food or water down. Dr. LoSasso performed an exploratory surgery after noticing a spot on her x-rays. That surgery saved her life. Dr. LoSasso had the most amazing bedside manner and compassion. He did not rush us during our multiple phone calls and explained everything, making sure he answered all our questions. We liked him so much, we asked if he could be our primary vet! Lol.. Our cat made a full recovery and we could not thank or recommend them enough! They truly, truly care about the animals and what they do! Thank you all so much!

Negative experience: Edit: Dear Michael LoSasso, To correct your response concerning my review of my experience, yes we did not elect to get a clay paw print from the crematorium but that is solely because the expectation of receiving a foam impression was set by your staff. We decided we did not want two paw impressions. Had this expectation not been set, we would have elected to get a clay impression. It was a very gracious offer, however it became a misfortune because the impression was never received. I don’t really expect anything less than a snarky response to this follow up after reading your other responses to negative experiences. I find it odd that you resort to victim blaming rather than issuing a simple apology. No thanks in making a difficult day even more horrible. Michael, I hope you can shake off whatever is making you project so negatively. Have a blessed one Original post: Our pup passed and although the staff was friendly…. We waited for what seemed like an unreasonable amount of time to get our dog back to us before we said goodbye… the building maybe had one other person with their dog their. When we went to pick up our dogs ashes and what we payed for, again, met with a long wait and was placed in a waiting room where they walked in SOMEONE ELSES dog. In addition, we picked and paid for a paw print and never got it…. We will never be able to get it now since he’s been cremated… We Will NOT go back for anything in the future!

Frisco Emergency Pet Care
Frisco Emergency Pet Care

Ms. Rock,
I am sorry that you found our service lacking. Helping pet owners through end-of-life decisions and processes are some of the most important services veterinarians provide, and we take this very seriously. Mistakes made here cannot be corrected. We are not perfect, but we try very hard.

One of the ways we try to avoid errors is through redundancy - there is nowhere on your aftercare form or the tag that went with Oscar to the crematorium that indicated you wanted a clay paw print, and you were not charged for one. We made a foam impression for you to take home, for which you were not charged (we provide these for pet owners so that you have something to take home with you).

As to wait times, I can understand your frustration. It often appears that "not much is going on" because there are few people in consultation rooms, and maybe there are no other cars in the parking lot. That can be deceptive, because sometimes there are hospitalized cases in the ICU that require a great deal of technician and doctor time.

I am sorry for your loss, and sorry that you feel we let you down.

Fantastic experience: We visited Frisco Emergency Pet Care when our 14-year-old dog suddenly became ill. They ran tests and determined she had a large tumor on her liver. We made the difficult decision to euthanize her. All of the staff were so kind and caring throughout her evaluation and testing. We were given time alone with her before she was euthanized. I was able to pet and comfort her until she died. We were then given additional time with her to say our final good-bye. I cannot say enough about the compassionate care we received from all of the staff throughout the entire process.

Joe Paul Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: This emergency vet is not only grossly overpriced (based on past visits) but also severely understaffed (based on our latest visit). Saturdays and Sundays are clearly their busiest days, and yet they seem to have only one vet on premises. We brought our dog in on Sunday, October 13th, and after 6 hours he had still not been seen by the doctor. We were told after four hours of waiting that he was next to be seen, and then after arriving at the clinic an hour and a half later were told he was again next to be seen. Two hours after first being told we were next, our dog still had not been seen by a doctor and we took our dog and went home; we will take him to our regular vet in the morning as a walk-in. Clearly, the Frisco Emergency Pet Care clinic is too cheap to hire sufficient medical staff given that they are open 24x7, and is extremely poor at communicating and managing the expectations of their patients. The fact that they moved to a larger facility (which is probably where there money is going rather than to hiring veterinarians) does not mean they can or will provide better care if they don't have veterinarians present who can actually see patients. Fortunately, there are other emergency vets around and should we need it in the future, we absolutely will avoid Frisco Emergency Pet Care. UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO OWNER’S COMMENTS: it’s really great to see that you have time reply to negative reviews, but don’t have the time to actually treat patients. There is absolutely nothing libelous about my comments since they are true. The only reason we went back this time is because of proximity. The fact that you think that you are less expensive than any other ER vet is laughable. Just like many businesses that build bigger facilities, you are unable to handle the increased number of patients and had to stop intakes today. As I said, fortunately there are other ER vets who know how to service patients. I don’t know how long you’ve been a vet, but we have had Pugs for 35 years and are very familiar with their medical issues. You may be a good vet (although I have no proof that is the case) but you definitely are a poor manager and don’t know how to operate an emergency veterinary clinic.

Frisco Emergency Pet Care
Frisco Emergency Pet Care

Mr. Paul,

I'm surprised that you returned, since we are "grossly overpriced" based on your past visits. We are less expensive than any of the corporate ERs in the area, so I am not sure what you are basing this judgment on.

His eye irritation certainly needed to be seen, but there were several critical patients in the hospital whose conditon required more immediate attention.

I would encourage you to not wait more than 48 hours the next time his eyes are irritated - pugs and other brachycephalic dogs are extremely prone to ulcers, and I hope your family veterinarian can see him tomorrow.

Your libelous assumption that we are too cheap to hire doctors is unfortunate. Veterinarians, especially emergency veterinarians, have been in short supply for years, and this was greatly enhanced by the pandemic. Perhaps you think they grow on trees, but they do not. Finding (the right) emergency doctors to serve our clientele is a process that takes longer than either one of us likes, I can assure you.
