Fantastic experience: Highland Animal Hospital is our go to for anything and everything related to our pets. We recently took our 10-year-old family dog, Magenta, to get her teeth cleaned after a year and a half of being unable to address her oral hygiene and Highland did not disappoint. They removed 13 teeth and the next morning, Magenta was a younger version of herself. It was like she is five years younger and she got her spark back again. Prior to getting her teeth cleaned, her mouth had an unbearable, foul odor and she was overall very uncomfortable and in a lot of pain. However, after a dental cleaning here, her breath smells immaculate and her teeth are white and clean. This experience at Highland really showed us how important oral hygiene is for our animals and was a wakeup call to others we know that have animals in need of oral care. She is happier and healthier than ever thanks to Dr. Japeth and the team at Highland Animal Hospital. They even followed up multiple times to make sure she was comfortable and doing okay. We cannot recommend them here enough for the care and comfort they provided to not only Magenta, but our entire family.

Fantastic experience: Always professional and pleasant. They are really great with my fur babies. Very thorough with exams and tentative to concerns I have. Would recommend. Had my kitten spayed and she is doing great, sent home with explicit instructions for care and had a follow contact from Dr. Japheth. He is absolutely wonderful! The whole team is wonderful! Again I would highly recommend

Negative experience: Please fully read. For many years, my family and I brought our beloved dogs here. Dr. Barkman(the father), was so amazing and you could see and feel his love for animals. With that being said, I started taking my dog Loki here and immediately noticed how we were basically treated like some number and Josh leaving me always feeling rushed and like he was all about that next client, that next money making. Loki began to gain weight and wouldn't really lose any no matter what I did. Vet techs, and even a couple of the vets would give me judgemental looks, and had 2 vets techs give me the look you'd give a parent who is neglecting their children. Though I brought up how it had to be health issues, potentially Cushing's, I was pretty much responded too like it was something I was doing and highly unlikely it was Cushing's or anything else. So, I finally had enough and decided to take Loki elsewhere. Low and behold, I got a vet who actually took the time to listen, didn't give dirty looks and actually cared. I knew she wasn't about the money but about Loki's well-being and health. Tests were run, much cheaper than Highland also, and it was confirmed Loki does in fact have Cushing's, and unfortunately he is diabetic. I'm so happy and grateful to say Loki is doing great, he has lost almost 10 pounds, more active, and is much livelier. Had I kept going to someone who is clearly about the money and not the health and well-being of Loki, I don't think we'd have the diagnoses we have. Furthermore, his allergy injection he now only needs twice a year is nearly $60 cheaper, vet office costs are just much more reasonable and Loki loves the staff where we're going now. He needs insulin twice a day, and meals/treats that help with everything, as well as his Cushing's meds. But he is better and we couldn't be more blessed. It's really frustrating and heartbreaking when clients are treated like a number, rushed through a visit they're paying for, and having staff who not only are clearly judging you, but vets who care more about how much money they can bring in over putting the health and well-being of your fur baby. I truly hope and pray they read this and start to listen more to their clients and not leave them feeling rushed, undervalued, or neglected.

Fantastic experience: Highland took fantastic care of my fur baby for 15 years. He crossed the Rainbow Bridge this morning and Dr. Josh can take care of ANY of my loved ones! He has the compassion of Job and let me take all the time I needed to say goodbye to my baby! Thank you Highland for caring so much for your patients and their families!

Fantastic experience: I am thrilled to have found Highland Animal Hospital- the quality of care they gave my dog (and me) has been top notch, and I will happily recommend Highland to anyone. My 11 year old, happy, active and vibrant dog Goober had to have emergency surgery for a mass that was found in his abdomen. He quickly went from being fine, to not eating or being able to produce a bowel movement. We brought Goober into Highland after we had tests done elsewhere, looking for a solution. Dr. Japheth saw the urgency in Goober’s condition and took him into surgery right away. He was able to remove the mass, which he found was right where the small intestine and large intestine meet. Dr. Japheth called me FROM the OR to update me on progress AND immediately after surgery to let me know how it went. Goober had to stay multiple nights at the hospital to ensure a smooth recovery, but I knew he was in good hands. I got consistent reports from Dr. Josh, Dr. Japheth and other members of the Highland team VERY often which calmed my racing thoughts and my worry. The reception staff was sooooo friendly and supportive to both my husband and I, when we were obviously very worried and distressed. I cannot stress enough how well this team communicates with each other and with their clients. Goober is now over a week out of surgery, has been home for 4 days and is essentially back to his happy self! Dr. Japheth has kept up with Goober’s recovery at home and was happy to answer any questions or concerns we have had since he was discharged. Thank you thank you THANK YOU to the wonderful team at Highland, Dr. Japheth and Dr. Josh for giving us more time with Goober- he means the world to us! ❤️‍

Fantastic experience: I've used Highland Animal Hospital for all of my animal care since 2009. We have had 3 surgeries on my dogs in that time, and while nobody wants to be in that position with their pets, Highland took such great care of them. Their doctors truly care about their patients and have gone above and beyond to provide excellent care. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: After being completely failed by two other offices, highland really came through and pulled out all the stops for my sisters dog. I was able to call from a different state and get him in for emergency surgery within minutes. I am unbelievably thankful for their care, communication, urgency, and consideration. Without their quick actions, kindness, and ability her dog may not be here today.

Fantastic experience: I read the reviews and decided to bring my baby here. First visit i set appointment but wait time was over an hour and I dont like text message system too much. However the second visit was in the morning and we were seen and out within 45min.

Fantastic experience: My 4 year-old pit bull tore her CCL (ACL in humans), and needed surgery. My husband and I were in a panic, as there are only 3 places in NC that will do this kind of surgery. Dr. Josh and his staff were incredibly helpful and kind during this whole process. Whenever we had a question, problem or concern, Dr. Josh called us back ASAP. I've NEVER had such quality care from a vet before. The concern for us and our dog superseded all expectations. Fantastic experience: The building is very kind, clean, and friendly staff. The check in was very easy, using the phone and the vet was very capable. My cat was in for a neutering.

Fantastic experience: What a wonderful staff. From the clerks on the front to the tech and doctors in the back. My family has been with this teams for over 30 years. We would never change our vet care team. If you love your fur babies this team I promise will love them and care for them as they are own. What this amazing family (the barkman’s) have created for us. I could never be more thankful for what they have done for my family and this community.

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough amazing things about this place. From the very first phone call, I knew I had found something special. I’m not from Fayetteville, but I drove hours to bring my dog here because of the care, knowledge, and compassion they showed right away and it was 100% worth it. The entire team treated my dog like she was their own. Their dedication, love, and attention to detail during her surgery truly meant everything to me. They were incredibly knowledgeable, explained everything clearly, and took every step necessary to ensure her surgery went smoothly and safely. Knowing she was in such capable, caring hands brought me so much peace. What truly sets them apart is the genuine care they continue to show even after the surgery. They have checked in on us throughout her recovery to make sure she is healing well, which speaks volumes about how deeply they care for their patients and their families. It’s so hard to find a veterinary office that truly cares about animals and takes pride in doing things the right way and this place absolutely does. I rarely ever leave reviews, but they deserve every word of praise. If I lived closer, this would without question be my permanent vet. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking such incredible care of my fur baby. You all were truly amazing.

Fantastic experience: Highland took great care of my Nikki dog while getting her teeth cleaned. I'll admit to being a little apprehensive about the procedure, but it went really well and Nikki returned home as the same happy go lucky dog as she was when I dropped her off. The only difference is that she now has clean teeth!

Positive experience: You have to wait but the price is right. They have a pet centrally located in city. Teeth cleaning.

Fantastic experience: Both my dogs got spayed here. The surgical staff was kind and very helpful after the surgery and made sure to keep in touch and answer any other questions during post surgery aftercare. It was an easy process for a drop off and pick up and my dogs are doing great!

Fantastic experience: I brought my dog in for his first teeth visit for teeth cleaning. I was a bit nervous knowing he would have to be sedated. However, Cory a vet tech with surgical team was amazing. Before appointment he let me know what to expect. During the day he was kind enough to let me know how my dog was doing and sent a picture of my dog. Cory was wonderful and listened to my concerns, even followed up the following day. Highland Animal Hospital, you have a great employee on the surgical team I would give a hundred stars .

Fantastic experience: We've been bringing our pets to Highland for over 20 years and most recently it was our teacup yorkies turn. She's barely 2lbs so we were extremely nervous about having her Spayed but it's the best thing for her so we went ahead with it. The staff was amazing. We received updates about her during the day which helped a lot. The instructions we received were very clear and the whole situation was a lot less scary then we thought it'd be.

Fantastic experience: We are incredibly grateful to Highlands Animal Hospital in Fayetteville for the outstanding care they provided to Dallas. From start to finish, their compassion and dedication truly stood out. The veterinarian personally called us on days the office was closed and even came in on New Year’s Day so we could bring Dallas home. We received daily text updates on his condition, which meant more to us than they’ll ever know. When we called to make our payment, they discovered we had been overcharged and issued a refund before we were even aware—an honesty that speaks volumes. While we were there today, two other families arrived with emergencies. Even though the office was technically closed and the vet was only there for Dallas, he didn’t hesitate to help them as well. On top of everything else, their pricing is far more affordable than any veterinary office I’ve ever experienced. I only wish they were closer, because I would transfer all of our care to them without hesitation. An exceptional team with genuine compassion, integrity, and heart.

Negative experience: After reading the reviews for this place, ive decided not to bother making an appointment for my cat-daughter. Too many recent horror stories in the 1-star section of the reviews.

Negative experience: Front desk literally ignore me every time I go now it seems. But a lady comes in behind me and gets greeted and asked if she needs help. This the 3rd time this has happened. If they didn’t forgot about me on my last visit (3 hours) i wouldn’t have had to check to make sure I’m checked in. A simple “may i help you” would be nice. I stood in the lobby 30 min ignored for the last time. Thank you to the African American lady that came to the front and asked had I been helped while everyone else just sat there. HIGHLAND YOUR SERVICE HAS GONE DOWN THE DRAIN AND YOUR PRICES HAVE GONE UP..

Fantastic experience: Took my pit mix pup in with a torn cheek just before noon on 30 Dec. They got him in, stitched him up, and he was home before they closed. He was still drunk from anesthesia and slept hard but the next morning he was right back to his normal self. The doc explained everything they did and gave some care instructions before we left. They even checked in via text the next day.

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience today with an early morning vaccine appointment for my cat’s monthly arthritis injection (Solensia). The clinic offers early appointments for certain vaccines and shots. I made the appointment online, showed up and was done in ten minutes. This is a fantastic service!!

Fantastic experience: We have been using Highland Animal Hospital for over 15 years and continue to trust them with all of our animals’ needs. Over the years, we’ve relied on Highland for everything from routine shots and boarding to surgeries, and even the incredibly difficult moment of saying goodbye to our elderly dog. We always come back because of the amazing, compassionate staff. I have truly never had a bad experience here. While wait times can sometimes be long (just like at a human doctor’s office), it is absolutely worth it. Most recently, our cat Wednesday had a cystotomy done, and the care she received was outstanding. The staff was so kind, attentive, and reassuring—and they even sent us a picture update once she woke up from anesthesia . Highland Animal Hospital is full of caring, loving professionals who genuinely treat your pets like family. We are beyond grateful for them.

Fantastic experience: I could not have asked for better care for my cat on Christmas eve. She was attacked by a dog and her back leg was crushed. I googled vets open on Christmas Eve and highland popped up. I told my daughter lets take her there. When we arrived the lady at the front was very helpful and nice with a smile. Mama cat had never been seen there before and antially you would have to have been seen an established as a patient. She came back and said they would go ahead and see her. That was such a relief. Our wait was only about 15 minutes. We got called to the back the lady that came in before the Dr cared for mama cat with such caring hands. They took xrays and let me know the options. We made the decision best for her to amputate We had to leave her there i was informed of everything how she did during her surgery and when she came out of surgery. I was notified through text message this morning on how she did over night and when I could pick her up. I live an hour away so the Dr gave me plenty of time to know when I needed to leave and get her. When I picked her up today the Dr was very thorough on home instructions for her. I would highly recommend Highland Animal hospital for it to be a holiday and get this kind of care it was exceptional. Now we are on the way to spend the rest of Christmas day and get mama cat on the way to recovery. Thank you to everyone from the front desk all the way to the surgical team and Dr for caring for my mama cat.

Fantastic experience: I was worried at first because of the nature of the surgery we had to get for our cat. But in all honesty I never had any bad interactions. Even the lady at the front desk comforted me and everyone acted efficiently and vigorously to help. I was capable of celebrating Christmas without too much fear for my cat because of the quality of work done, and because of the way I was treated.

Fantastic experience: My puppy Kirby has been coming to this clinic since I got her at 8 weeks old. Dr. Japheth is fantastic and always makes us feel comfortable by giving us time to ask questions. Kirby got spayed here and he reached out to check on us the day after, and when she was having increased pain, he came in when the clinic was closed on his time off to prescribe something to help her. I’ve never been to another vet where they would voluntarily take time out of their day to come in to work to help a pup. The front desk staff are also really kind and they love seeing Kirby. This vet office really goes above and beyond for their clients and their pets. Kirby is my baby and they treat her amazing! Thank you Highland Animal Hospital! And a side note, their pricing is fantastic.

Fantastic experience: I always had a good experience at highland Animal hospital. I have had several cats spayed and neutered with out any problems. Also had one of my cats broken leg repaired l. I would recommend them whether its routen care or surgical. It's affordable compared to some other vet's

Fantastic experience: My dog had a growth removed from his eye as well as a teeth cleaning and nail trim. The staff was friendly and provided detailed instructions for his post op care. I have been going to Highland for 12 years and will continue to do so.

Negative experience: Very unprofessional. Called to see if they had a nutritionist to help with my dog who keeps having uti’s and seizures and the woman on the phone laughed the whole time. Will never recommend and will never use. Very unprofessional vet’s office.

She recovered without complications.The staff knew we were worried about Lily so they called as soon as surgery was done to update us and let us know when she could be picked up. Positive experience: Crooks. Third time coming here. They told me my cat needed a dental extraction. I specifically ask how much it’ll cost so I can schedule around payday. The nurse says “hard to tell, but typically around $80-100” I bring him back for the extraction, they clarify specifically with me that I am authorizing them to do the extraction. I say yes.” Come to pick up my cat later, and it costs $510. $270 for a cleaning they didn’t tell me about, alright, what am I gonna do, not gonna pay and let them keep my cat? Of course not. So I pay it and when I get home? The cat still has dried blood in his matted fur all around his mouth, as well as on his paws and neck. First they do a dental cleaning I didn’t know about, way outside the price I was quoted, and they don’t even clean my poor baby up after yanking his teeth? Did they just pull them and throw him back in the cage until I came and got him? EDIT: I was contacted by the veterinarian directly. He explained where the lack of communication was, and said he would address it internally. While it doesn’t excuse the lack of upfront communication that makes their practice seem underhanded in the moment, I can at least respect the follow-up. I hope they do better in the future to not dissuade other pet owners

Fantastic experience: This was our first time coming to this hospital, and though it was under the hardest circumstances, I cannot express how grateful we are for the care we received. We had to say goodbye to our beloved dog, and the staff treated not only our pup with such compassion, but they also took care of us in the process. They were incredibly kind, patient, and gentle during every step. They gave us the time and space we needed, while also offering comfort and support. Even after the visit, they followed up with a call to check on us, which meant more than words can say. It’s never easy to go through such a heartbreaking experience, but the team here made sure we didn’t feel alone. Their compassion, professionalism, and genuine care made all the difference. I will forever be grateful for the way they helped us through this moment, and I would recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone in need of a veterinary team that truly goes above and beyond.

Fantastic experience: Highland Animal Hospital took great care of my CoKo. She had a ear edema and it had to be surgically removed. She's recovering well.

Negative experience: Will not EVER take my animals back here! We had a cat with a neck injury that we were very concerned about. The first thing the doctor seen was dollar signs. Without even looking at his injury, the doctor went straight to $500 worth of vaccines with no concern to the cat’s injury! Once we said NO….we came in for his neck the whole atmosphere changed to an afterthought!

Positive experience: Great Vet's. Great staff. Far less services since they moved from original place. Far less accommodating and services since both the move and COVID. I thought since they moved to a larger place they would have more services and weekend hours but it is quite the opposite. Still best Vet's in town.

Negative experience: I visited recently with a newly acquired third dog and waited an hour before I was told it would be another hour to be seen. I was then told by the staff that I was lucky because there was a three hour wait to be seen this morning! Nearly every time I come (which is often with an aging dog and a younger one with health issues) it takes 3 plus hours be seen, examined, and for a bill to be processed and payed for one dog. This does not take into account the testing times (like acth test which takes hours to run). The walk in wait time is unnecessarily stressful for older/sick pets and for their owners. I liked the care that my dogs received from the vets at this clinic but the no-appointments policy is absolutely frustrating especially for someone who is frequently having to bring in aging pets for care. You should respect the vet’s time but the vet clinic should also respect your time as a customer (this is polite). If you only have to come two to three times a year… it would be manageable but if you have aging dogs or have dogs with health problems requiring frequent visits, be prepared to wait a very long time in the walk-in line!

Fantastic experience: The staff at Highland Animal Hospital was warm and welcoming, greeting me with a smile as soon as I walked in. I brought in my 15-year-old Yorkie, Chocolate, who was in really bad shape and needed urgent care. The doctor was very compassionate and took the time to explain everything my pup needed in a way I could easily understand. I could truly tell she is passionate about what she does. This was my first time visiting this clinic, but they treated us like family and were able to take Chocolate in right away. We are now on the road to recovery, and I feel confident knowing my dog is in good hands. Highland Animal Hospital has earned my trust, and I will be making this our primary vet for all of Chocolate’s future needs.

Negative experience: A previous loyal client for 8 years is here! This place is going downhill big time. STAY AWAY from dr. Ann. She doesn't know anything!! I am in medical field myself and know what I am asking or talking about. I brought my cat for urinary symptoms, sudden extremely frequent urination, 40 times a day!! Long story shorts, after doing u/a ans X ray, she didn't give me any reasonable answer, she said tiny Kidney stone, but the x ray from 3 years ago, has the SAME marks. I asked how come in 3 years she had Kidney stone without ANY symptoms and now out of the sudden happened?? No explanation from her! Then she said, abdomen has lots of gas, that might be it!! Even though my cat NO difficulty with pooping and in fact she pooped just 2 hours before!! So obviously no blockage, no bloating, nothing! And how on earth, cat goes to pee (one drop one drop) because of gas in the belly Oh yeah she said that to me a reason!! These are two different organs, GI system and Uriogenital system. Then she said might be stress! Although I told nothing have been changed in her living situation, nothing that triger stress. Then she was trying to sell me pain killer shot for arthritis and probiotic!!!! My cat doesn't even have arthritis or GI symptoms!! She has *ucking urinary problem!! Then I wanted to talk to another doctor, because obviously none of her talking make sense! And she discharged my cat with pain killer! They kept me in the lobby and exam room for 2 complete hours just to give me an answer. I was there from 8 to 11 Am!! For nothing. I was exhausted, had a terrible headache, my poor cat was in the box for 3 hours! I left finally with frustration and anger. They didn't give me an answer or explanation, that why my cat is suffering for 2 days?! Is it stone?! Is it stress? Is it gas?! Or is it something we dont know! And need more work up...I even suggest to perform ultrasound, she said no! I trusted this clinic, dr. Joshua and David Barkman were always great. I hope they find better doctors for their business. The only person who was so lovely, caring, and very very professional was front desk lady, Camille, You are a wonderful person. Thank you for being you. I dont think, I would never come back again to this clinic.

Fantastic experience: We have used Highland Animal's services for over 15 years and we won't go anywhere else. They offer top notch services at a reasonable price. The staff is very educated, professional and empathetic. From the front desk staff (especially Robin, Camille, Jen and Laci) to the technicians like Christi, Karla, and Elizabeth to the doctors (specifically Kelly Totten and Japheth Barkman), we appreciate them all. Although it takes awhile to be seen, they are so worth the wait. From nail trimmings to surgeries and everything in between, we completely trust the staff with the care of our fur babies. We are especially thankful for the care and services of Dr. Kelly Totten. She is an amazing veterinarian and a truly beautiful person. She is very knowledgeable, extremely kind and exceptionally skilled in her profession. She has shared everything from the joy of new additions to the loss of loved ones with us. She is an excellent surgeon with impeccable bedside manners. She is the primary reason we come to Highland Animal Hospital. Many thanks to all of you for the hard work and true dedication you have shown while caring for our babies.

Negative experience: Do not board your pet here. We just moved to Fayetteville and enjoyed our first experience as my dog was just getting her routine check up. We decided to board her for our vacation and coming back to get here I was so disappointed. We bought a new dog bed for her and it was fully soiled and they seemed fully unaware that she has been laying in her pee for days. We payed over 300.00 for her to not be taken care of well. They gave $64.00 (2 days payment out of 10) back which was kind but I was so disappointed knowing that she laid in her pee for days and they didn’t even notice- we won’t be back. I do not recommend this vet for boarding.

Fantastic experience: Just wanted to say Cory is super kind and very attentive! He made sure my dog had everything he needed and then some before he checked us out! It is very rare nowadays for people to go above and beyond, but he definitely went above and beyond for me and my dog & it’s just another confirmation as to why I choose Highland for my pet needs!

Positive experience: I like the animal hospital well enough but every time I’ve gone I’ve spent hours there waiting. Went today and sent 3 different messages in the span of 45 minutes and didn’t get a response till I said I was in the lobby. The employees are nice and always great with my dogs but I’m tired of spending half my day there.

Positive experience: I take my four German Shepherds here. I like the vet and the vet techs. It is very busy so get in early, call ahead or expect to spend some time.

Positive experience: I haven’t personally taken any of my furbabes there at Highland , although my business Wags & Whiskers Pet Services, LLC I have picked up and transported pets to and from there and I have many friends that go to Highland.

Positive experience: Great vets , very clean walking areas , waiting times are long and they don’t do appointments .

Positive experience: I use to LOVE Highland but my last 2 visits have been so below what I feel like their standard use to be. Last visit I had to make multiple (3) 30 min trips because they wouldn’t believe me when I told them they didn’t give me enough meds.. not to mention the price. I understand people make mistakes. Today I text to check in twice in a hour time frame and got no response. Took it upon myself to go inside (no greeting, may I help you? Have you been helped? NOTHING).. Lady comes in after me is greeted and checked in at the counter. I then ask can I be checked in too?? Did anyone see my text from a hour ago?? Slowly losing faith in Highland. I’m going to give them 1 more try maybe , if it’s better I’ll update my review. Update- The techs in the back are always the sweetest I swear. Always show the pups so much love and do so well with them.

Fantastic experience: Had a great first experience. Unfortunately, right before we are slotted to move. They got us in quickly for an urgent but not emergent need. Very clean facility with kind, caring, compassionate staff. They did not try to upsell us on anything. They focused on why we said we were there and addressed all our needs/questions. If we were not moving they would be a routine vet. Keep up the good work!

Fantastic experience: This animal hospital is top notch, and I had an amazing experience when I was deeply concerned with my dog. She had her tail amputated at another vets office, and she had complications during the healing process. The vet went over every option we could in great detail with me, how the healing process can be, and what outcomes to expect. Under their guidance, my pup is showing great progress with her recovery. I was referred here from my employer, and I’m glad I went in.

Negative experience: I boarded my 3 babies here and I am so unhappy.there was 1 lady who was extremely rude to me and my dogs were not safe during the night. They have no one there at night they claimed my dogs had a fight,wich they have never done at home. My pit and one of my huskies apparently and mysteriously injured and needed medical attention. Medication was given wich should have been their responsibility because it happened on their watch the huskies were not brushed as I instructed.their beds were returned to me wet. My dogs were traumatized and my husky who I adopted saved from puppy death row twice was traumatized frothing from the mouth. I called them and asked them to return my 68.00 for the grooming that was not done and the medicine they charged me and I was told absolutely not and insisted they were groomed. Do not leave your pets with this facility!!!!! 1700 dollars for a week and medication I should not have been responsible for grooming that was not done.they were argumentative and rude…. Never again!!!!!

Fantastic experience: This place definitely has the best prices. Some of the female doctors will try to oversell you on stuff so just beware of your budget and what you need. They will work with you and keep your bill within your budget if you tell them and you do not fall for all the extra stuff. I have one doctor there and she really puts in a lot of hard work. There is a waiting list so arrive early. And Camille is the best staff at the counter.

Fantastic experience: Everyone from the front desk, to the techs/assistants, to the vet was extremely kind and helpful. Each person we encountered during our visit seemed like they genuinely enjoy what they do. Great atmosphere as well. Highly recommend Highland over other clinics in the area.

Fantastic experience: I honestly cannot say enough about this place. They took us in last minute as my dog had been sick for days and another vet told me to go here. Then a couple weeks later we had some teeth pulled (finally) as other places had quoted me an arm and a leg. Here, I was actually able to afford this procedure that needed to get done. Fantastic experience: We have been taking our Beagle here since we got him in 2017. He recently got his teeth cleaned. As he is older (8 yrs), they did bloodwork first, to verify his health. They called me soon as he woke up from anesthesia to let me know he did great!

Fantastic experience: I had to euthanize my 19 or 20 year old Chihuahua today. Due to his illness. He was my rescue. I got him in October 2007. He was 2-3 years old when I rescued him. I have had him for 17 1/2 years. Longest living dog , I have ever had. The staff here at Highland Animal Hospital are so very friendly, and compassionate. Dr. Josh was so compassionate. I really appreciate their help. Pacino passed away so Peacefully. And in my arms. My cat also goes here. Thank you so much for helping me through this difficult time. Your patience was much appreciated.

Fantastic experience: My dog is a miniature dachshund. He is always well loved and cared for here. Hes been coming here since he was a puppy, 2010 to be exact. He's an old man now but still kicking. Highland has always took great care of him. Great staff very friendly down to the custodial staff. Keep up the good work!

Fantastic experience: Highland Animal Hospital has been treating our family for over twenty years. They have treated all of us with honesty and compassion for the entirety of that time. Treatment plans are thorough and fully explained with honest expectations and transparency. Over the years there have been several surgeries and chronic conditions that our babies have undergone. All were handled with expertise and with the health and comfort of the patient being the number one priority. I would never consider going to any other office. From both Drs. Barkman and Dr. Totten, to the techs and the reception desk we are treated professionally and with respect. Their check-in and check-out process works smoothly if you follow the directions. They don't have appointments which is great for busy families. When it is your turn, you are going to have all of the attention of the tech and the doctor. They will answer all of your questions and treat your loved one as their own. This is the best Animal Hospital in town and they have our family for life.

Fantastic experience: Always helpful, knowledgeable, kind and really care for the animals. Thanks to Dr. Josh, Dr. Japeth, Dr. Totten and Lacey for their recent help with our 12 year old cats issue. They did not stop until they found what was wrong and are doing everything they can to help her live her best life.

We brought him in because he had not been eating for days, yet he was still in good spirits. What happened next was beyond anything we could have imagined. Without fully explaining the risks, they performed a procedure that left him with half of his tongue missing. Not once did they provide him with pain medication or any guidance on how to properly care for him after such a traumatic procedure. They sent him home with no aftercare instructions whatsoever. When I called to ask what we were supposed to do, the only advice I was given was to feed him with a syringe—completely ignoring the severity of his condition. After that call, he rapidly declined. He was bleeding from the mouth, still unable to eat, and losing body temperature. He was suffering terribly, and we were left with no real solutions. Watching our beloved cat go from fighting to survive to being in absolute misery was unbearable. We were left with no choice but to put him to sleep so that he didn’t have to endure an excruciating and prolonged death. This experience has shattered me and my family. We trusted them with his care, and instead, they subjected him to unimaginable suffering. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. If you love your pet, please think twice before bringing them here.

Fantastic experience: Highland has been my treating my horde of animals for over 20yrs. Their experience, caring attitude, and kindness towards us and especially our fur-babies is the reason we stay with them.

Fantastic experience: This place is amazing. Truly very happy from the time I pulled into the parking lot. My dog had a cyst that need to be removed. My dog is soon to be 13 and hasn't been to a vet in years, never a need. They took him in right away and they were able to remove the cyst...same day. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Now I feel very comfortable taking my dog to Highland Animal Hospital. Truly blessed taking my dog here!!!!!

Fantastic experience: We just relocated to the area and have 2 cats, one of which is a senior. We were so impressed by the layout and everyone who worked here including the doctors. So grateful to have found them. I am super picky with the vets I choose for pets and they are absolutely wonderful! Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: My pup has had three major surgeries (2 foreign bodies and ACL) in the span of 4 months. Each time the staff and doctors have been great in taking care of him and going over aftercare and possible solutions to prevent/limit them from occuring in the future.

Negative experience: If you have to board your fur baby, make Highland your last option, they are very Slow with the boarding service, a older female staff was inconsiderate of servicing me, but they were quick on taking my payment. Horrible boarding service! Arrived at 0855 Departed at 0925

Positive experience: I love Highland Animal Hospital I’ve been taking my cats there for years one of my cats recently had surgery and it went great no complaints there and the Doctor and staff are all great the reason I gave 4 stars was because I was never called when my cat was ready for pickup I had to call and the medication instructions were not very clear I had to figure it out and they forgot to give me my receipt but emailed it to me later for the money I pay my service that day could have been a little better but my little fur baby is doing well and that’s really all that matters. Thank you!

All of the staff really do care for the animals and I can tell that it is their passion. They are nice and understanding and patient with their. They are very responsive to any questions that I have and accommodating to my schedule. Fantastic experience: Highland Animal Hospital is the best. We have a Frenchie that was actually delivered c-section at the hospital. The doctors and the staff are knowledgeable and caring to both the pets and owners. Highland is where you need to take your furry family member Update on Shadow and Highland Animal Hospital 11-1-24. Shadow had surgery this week and everything went great. Thank you to everyone at Highland Animal Hospital . If you love your furry animal as much as I do go to Highland. Great Vets and great supporting staff.

Negative experience: Well it’s a great hospital but when I had to use the bathroom after I paid, my chihuahua wouldn’t come in the bathroom with me and having a ripped rotor cuff, I let go of the door to try to pick up my puppy and the door slammed on my puppy’s sides and he’s only 6.3 lbs and he screamed in pain and started whimpering. I told the Lady that checked me out and she didn’t even look at me. I next went in front of the lady’s in the black shirts and told them they need to fix that door because it’s heavy and hurt my puppy. They just looked at me and didn’t say one thing!!! How rude!
