Fantastic experience: From the moment I called to make an appointment for my dog Rose, who had been in the emergency room, they were kind, gave me an appointment for the next day, and that day they told me that they could operate on her the following day. Rose and I are very happy and grateful to the vet and the doctors for their speed. They explained everything to me step by step, and Rose is recovering from a large bladder stone that they removed. Thank you.

They were understanding and explained everything well. I like pulling right up into the private room too. We did have to wait while they clearly tended to an emergency but did not mind. Fantastic experience: 10/10 would recommend! (coming from an anxious pet owner) Sara, Juliet, and Dr. Owens recently helped diagnose some issues we were having with our cat, Benny. I was really impressed by how unrushed, patient, and thorough the staff were during the visit. Sara was methodical in her analysis of his symptoms, which helped ease my mind as a patient (Benny had several, fairly unrelated symptoms). She also took good care during the more difficult times (i.e. giving an antibiotic shot) by carefully restraining Benny but keeping him at ease. Likewise, Dr. Owens was an encyclopedia of feline knowledge. He methodically explained the way the antibiotics should help, based on the careful tests he took. I could tell that he took his time during evaluation and was careful to rule out avenues that didn’t seem fit for the situation. I also thought the pricing was fair for what was done and prescribed. Would definitely recommend this location, as they seem to actually care and not rush through things.

Fantastic experience: I took my sick Kitten, Rascal, to the Locke A. Taylor veterinary office on Woodman Rd and I couldnt have been more happy with my visit. My kitten was almost back to being fully well when we had his appointment. The staff was absolutely wonderful though. They explained my options clearly and stated I could get antibiotics and hold onto them in the case he started getting worse again. They didn't pressure me to have any procedures done or get any prescriptions or vaccinations and they were very helpful. The staff was also so incredibly loving, caring, compassionate, and thoughtful towards my pet and treated him with the utmost respect and care. Rascal will be a lifetime patient with this office as long as they will have us. Not to mention the prices. I was blown away by how reasonable the cost was. Thank you so much to all the staff.

Fantastic experience: There is absolutely no better Veterinary office anywhere- is the most caring, loving, veterinary office I have ever used. I could go into many examples, but I’m just going to say and they care about your animals as much as you do. Even the office staff is absolutely amazing. You can go to a brand new shiny fancy office building or you can go to one with the best staff anywhere. I recommend like Taylor’s office above and beyond.

After not having our concerns heard with our previous vet office, we made the switch to Locke A Taylor and were given the care any pet and owner deserves. They were thorough and comprehensive, while also honest. They made sure our dog’s needs were met, but didn’t recommend any unnecessary tests or procedures like many other vet clinics will. I would recommend them to any pet owner!

They took care of my cat when he needed emergency kidney stone surgery, my other cat’s dental surgery, and always have good customer service. Fantastic experience: Had to take our dog here day before Thanksgiving for emergency surgery. We got super lucky having Dr Ames and Dr Owen's. They were were extremely professional and gentle. Considering our dog and us were in extreme distress. I want to personally thank Dr Owen's for all he did for our dog and us. We cannot thank you enough for the help you gave us. My only negative comment I would say is Dr peace has a bad attitude and told my dog to hush and was judging my breed. It took everything in me to not say anything. Perhaps read the room before you come in annoyed and tell my dog to hush.

Negative experience: I have been bringing my cat to this place for a few years now,and i never had any issues up until now!! this one person their seems to piss me off,she has issues trying to hold my cat!, i don't want her in the room with my cat any more!! One other person seemed to have any attitude problem when she snatched the scale off the table and took it away real fast!! i don't want attitudy people near my cat or people that don't know what their doing either!!! I can sense all that!!! What happen to all the good people???

Positive experience: Locke a Taylor is an ok vet. They do help when it comes to pricing. They are very quick to send your bill to creditors, without any kind of communication. Doctor A was very kind and tried to help but ultimately they couldn’t do anything for us. I’d go to this vet again but only for small things.

Fantastic experience: I have a very old, cantankerous cat. She does not trust anyone but me, and that is conditional. The first vet tech who saw her (maybe Kim; I should have asked) was very slow and gentle with her moving her to the scales. When she moved her gently back to the exam table, she covered her with a towel which she kept covering her eyes the whole time. They just removed the towel from the parts they needed to access, and took care of everything. They wanted to give her an antibiotic prophylactically, as they had to cut into the quick of several nails and there was blood, but they never suggested something that required her to be pilled, because she will not cooperate at all. They went straight to the long lasting injectable Convena, which does not cost much more than the inexpensive amoxicillin. The second vet tech that helped to trim her claws, several of which were ingrown, was very gentle as well. The vet that administered the antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory was very slow and gentle with her too. It’s been a while since I’ve had a good experience at the vet’s, so I am SO glad that I switched to this practice.

Fantastic experience: I am very grateful for the wonderful folks at this location. Our cat had been sick for a while with kidney disease and a tumor, but had been stable/happy for several weeks. He took a sudden turn for the worse and it became clear to us that it was his time. We were able to be seen even though they were obviously very busy, and the doctor who helped us through saying goodbye to our sweet boy was so so nice and caring. Im very thankful for the grace and kindness we were treated with. The people who work here truly care about the animals they see.

The vet was very attentive when I explained my dog’s previous medical history and also his anxieties going to vet appointments. Very compassionate and thorough in addressing my concerns and helping to diagnose the issues. I think they have reasonable prices and the vet helped to make sure I didn’t go over my budget for today’s visit. I’m so glad I found our new vet!

Negative experience: I was very impressed with the Woodman office. It was 3:30 in the afternoon and I called the office my dog usually goes to on Staples Mill Road and they refused to see her and wanted to give me the number to an emergency vet when they were still open. It seemed like they didn’t care. I called the Woodman office and they took her right away. I appreciate the lady who saw her. She was very knowledgeable. I will be taking my dog to this vet in the future. Our pets are family and to turn them away is wrong and unacceptable. When you find a vet who truly cares keep them because they are hard to find.

Fantastic experience: These people are angels they saved my cat a few years back after he was hit he a car they fixed his jaw and face and got him back up and running again and for an affordable price they also helped me do a payment plan too. Rip to Dr. Locke Taylor too he was a saint.

Fantastic experience: Our dog is a very fear aggressive dog. It got to the point we stopped taking him to his last vet because it was constant negative experiences. Here, he was handled with such care we hadn't seen in his previous vet. I didn't know he could get through an appointment without showing his teeth or growling. We are more than pleased with the care shown and the absolute patience and open mindedness he was given.

Fantastic experience: The best veterinarian offices I've ever taken any of my babies to. We've used the parham and woodman locations. They don't glaze over the things you say. They actually listen and help find solutions for your pet. Every tech we have seen and office staff are friendly and attentive. They also don't make your wallet scream nearly as much as other vets we've used. We see Dr White mainly and she is amazing. Our late pooch had CKD and we were lucky enough to find her in his end stages. She provided us with options and medications that previous vets didn't give us. Because of her he was able to have more comfort, eat better, and have the best quality of life at the end that he possibly could. We now take our new girl there and wouldnt go anywhere else. If I could give them 10 stars I would.

Negative experience: We are so insanely disappointed in the care or lack thereof that our beloved dog Haze received at Locke Taylor. Our previous vet of 8 years moved into emergency medicine in February 2025 so unfortunately we had to find a new vet and we started coming to Locke Taylor at the recommendation of many friends. We feel certain their ridiculously high volume and therefore lack of attention to detail is the reason our previously healthy 8 year old chocolate lab died over the weekend. Our boy spent all day at Locke Taylor on Friday 6/6 where they didn’t even bother to run blood tests and less than 24 hours later he was at the emergency hospital bleeding out internally and dead. The veterinarians we saw were very kind but in hindsight I don’t know how any of them could practice adequate medicine with the volume they’re doing. Maybe they are fine for well visits but if you have a sick animal and you want them to receive proper care, please please please find another clinic.

From the front desk workers to the techs to the veterinarian, everyone was pleasant, warm, knowledgeable and empathetic to my situation while also being professional and thorough about my dog's care. I felt completely at ease throughout my entire visit because I could tell instantly my Nia was in great hands. Negative experience: Our experience has drastically changed since Dr Taylor's unfortunate passing. Our cat has blood in the urine. After speaking with a Rep, took the cat to the Woodman Rd. location and waited 2 hrs. I was initially advised they would get me in within 2 hrs. Before leaving asked again when a Dr would be available and was advised they were still unsure. Prior to this we had left a message to make an appointment and they failed to call back. If they were booked, then they should have advised.

Fantastic experience: You guys are the best in town! Dr.White was fantastic with my fur baby and Juliette is truly a gem! Juliette was so sweet and patient with my giant golden/lab and did an exceptional job with her thick talons for nails! I know it isn’t easy so thank you guys so much and I owe you a full can of cheese next visit!!!!

Fantastic experience: Wow, I couldn’t say enough great things about both of their locations. They provide quality care to pets at an affordable rate. There’s a reason why they are highly known and referenced. The Vets here are extremely knowledgeable, and will go out of their way to do what they can for your pet. I was taking my cat to another locally known Vet, and while I do think they did the best they could - they just couldn’t help my cat with the stomach issues he had going on. They just weren’t knowledgeable enough, and also they were more expensive as well. I’m so glad I brought my cat to Locke Taylor to get a 2nd opinion because now he’s been properly treated and we know what was happening and what to do now. Unlike the other Vet, Locke Taylor thankfully has an internal medicine specialist that comes to them once a month, which provides a lower cost for your pet to be seen by a specialist of that nature. So if your cat or dog (or any other animal that can be seen) is having stomach issues - I would highly recommend going to Locke Taylor to see the internal medicine specialist they have available for about 1/3rd of the cost. I couldn’t be happier with my experience and the treatment my cat received. I will continue to be a client/patient here with my pets. I almost didn’t want to write a review just because they are so great, and you almost want to keep it a secret! Thank you Locke Taylor

Fantastic experience: I needed to take my Schipperke puppy for a consult to determine what type of surgery he needed for a hip injury. I was greeted & settled in very quickly. It was busy but all of the staff were welcoming & very compassionate Dr. Owen's was absolutely wonderful. He explained everything that needed to be done & what my puppies recovery would be like. He provided enough information & support that I didn't have any questions and I felt 100% sure that bringing Keme to them was an excellent choice. Fantastic experience: I visited yesterday for the first time with my 8 week old kitten, Taco, who injured his leg. We are typically patrons of Three Chopt Animal Clinic but their prices have been increasing with every visit. My mom recommended we try Locke A Taylor after she switched from TCAC. It was a very pleasant experience with Dr Habib. She was very knowledgeable and helpful with the questions and recovery process. We will work on transferring our other 2 cats and 2 dogs to Locke as not only are the prices much more reasonable, but the quality of care is excellent as well

Fantastic experience: They squeezed me in with no hassle when I called with an emergency with my dog, provided very thorough care and follow-up during the recovery process! I really appreciated the care they took in explaining what was going on and ensuring they could demonstrate what I needed to do to administer his treatment. The vet tech even went out of her way to recommend a 24 hour vet hospital in case thimgs took a downturn over the weekend since the emergency brought me in on a Friday

Fantastic experience: My family has been taking our pets here since before I was born. They've treated and cared for our babies and have even helped us say goodbye. In the last year alone one of my cats had urinary blockage and after many visits, and his surgery, he's still doing good. Now one of my other cats has a wound on his face that got infected. He's getting surgery today to remove dead tissue. The people here are so understanding and caring, it's no wonder they're always so busy. I totally recommend Locke A. Taylor for good vet care that won't completely break you.

Fantastic experience: The BEST vet in the area! Our appointment was at 4:00 & we were a little early. We were in and out by 4:10. Dr. Ames knows that our Bella freaks out during her vet appointment and he works with her gently and efficiently. We love him and this office!

Fantastic experience: I took a former community cat named Tommy for a dental consult at Locke A. Taylor as my regular vet no longer does dental appointments. The office staff were so friendly and I honestly got the sense that people enjoy working there, which was nice to witness. And our appointment was late in the day on a Friday so even more impressive that things were so light and cheery. Dr. Peace and the Tech were awesome and really kind to Tommy. I left feeling very informed about next steps and cost, and like he was in the best of hands. Highly recommended to anyone looking for quality and affordable vet care.

Fantastic experience: This office performed dental surgery for my cat. I was pretty nervous about him going under anesthesia but they took such good care of my boy—from initial visit to surgery day. They were kind and kept me informed on what to expect along the way. With top-notch care they were also one of the most affordable trustworthy options in the area. They go so far as to have a cap on dental surgery cost. L.A.T., your veterinarians & surgeons are much appreciated!

Negative experience: I am posting a review after a really long time from the visit. What led me to type this review is my need to follow up for paperwork and finding typos and miss noting birthdates. The overall staff doesn't give me the most welcoming feel and calling after so long gave me the feeling they don't have time for me. The reason I never went back because I don't think my cat was compatible with them. I remember very clearly one of the nurses grabbed my cat from the lower neck, and my cat was not happy. I know that is a common place to grabs cats but in my experience with cats, unless you are the caretakers, I don't see how that is the best first approach for a foreigner. The doctor was nice but since my cat was irritated from being grabbed, the appointment was very short wasted. And after reading those notes today, some of the things that were noted, were not properly discussed on next steps besides coming back for another visit. Since I couldn't imagine bringing her back in such a stressful environment, I was least interested for a follow up. However, if you are going to note things then advice next step I could have taken. Maybe addressing those instead of rushing the appointment to end is frustrating due to my cats temperment. I remember going in for a fecal exam but you noted other things that didn't have any next steps that I should stay alert about. Veternairies take enough money for these initial visits, please be welcoming, thoughtful, sensitive, and thorough during this stage. I am extremely tired of this approach in many practices. I wanted give a benefit of doubt but, years of vet visit overall, the only time staff care about animals are when they are puppies or kittens. Please be kinder to our matured cats.

Fantastic experience: This place was incredibly kind and welcoming. They saved our dog’s life after he was recently hit by a truck. Before coming here, we took our dog to Crossroads Animal Hospital and VRCC, where we were charged just for them to fracture his leg further. VRCC even demanded payment just to release our dog after threatening to send him to a pound for euthanasia. Locke A. Taylor Veterinary Hospital gave our dog another chance at life at a fair and reasonable price. They treated both him and us with respect, honesty, and compassion. My family is beyond grateful to have found this place, and we will be bringing our pets here for any future care.
