Negative experience: This place is completely unprofessional and a total waste of time. Before my trip, I called and asked if they could board my diabetic cat, who is also their patient. I was told yes and that I could simply bring him in the day of my flight with his insulin—no reservation needed. So this morning. I brought my cat in, spent 30 minutes filling out paperwork, and they checked him in. Everything seemed fine, so I left. Twenty minutes later, while we were already on the way to the airport, they called and told us to come back and pick up our cat because they suddenly “couldn’t take diabetic cats anymore” since they were “too busy.” Seriously? Why wasn’t this communicated in the first place? Why make us waste time checking in, filling out paperwork, and leaving, only to call us back minutes later? Their lack of communication and sudden rule change almost made us miss our flight. Completely unacceptable and incredibly frustrating. If you value your time or your pet’s care, I would strongly recommend going somewhere else. DO NOT WAIST YOUR TIME HERE!

Negative experience: Front staff is horrible. They dont greet when you walk in and continue to talk among themselves. Services are affordable.

Negative experience: DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE !!! I waited in the lobby for 2 hours for my animal to be seen for 5 minutes , she’s been having complications after a spy surgery the doctor completely dismissed me and what I was saying and proceeded to tell me my pet was fine when she clearly was not, offered me an antibiotic and left the room and that was it….. 2 HOURS OF WAITING FOR 5 MINUTES OF NOTHING??? having to take her to another animal hospital to get the treatment she needs.

Fantastic experience: Love this place, been coming here over 15 years, always great service! Jose is so attentive and caring for my family dog. He explained everything that was wrong and how he could help me. He did more than that, he saved my baby! Thank you Jose and Alief Animal Hospital as always for treating me like family!

Negative experience: I’m very disappointed with the care my cat received during her spay procedure. When I picked up my female cat, I discovered that one of her nipples had been shaved off or severely damaged during surgery. This was never communicated to me beforehand or at discharge. In addition, I noticed an injury on one of her paw pads after bringing her home. These are not minor cosmetic issues — they indicate a lack of careful handling and attention during what should be a routine procedure. The first cat I had here for sterilization had no problems at all. However, a year later, when I brought my second cat for the same procedure, there were many issues. So, I will never come to this pet hospital again. I don't recommend having your pet sterilized here now, unless you don't care about the harm she might suffer during the operation.

Fantastic experience: I recently took my senior dog to the vet and had a very positive experience. Despite having several people ahead of me, I was seen fairly quickly, which I truly appreciated because I had to go back to work in that morning. Jose is the person I usually request, and I am extremely grateful for the care he gives my little one. He is compassionate, patient, and always takes the time to listen and explain everything clearly. I feel especially comfortable because he explains everything to me in Spanish, which helps me fully understand my dog’s condition and feel much more at ease. I would also like to acknowledge the other veterinarian who also saw my dog. Although I don’t remember his name, he was kind and attentive, and I appreciate the care he provided during our visit. This visit was especially emotional for me. My dog suffered a head injury last year and hasn’t been the same since. During this appointment, my dog was carefully examined and after reviewing her previous X-rays, she was diagnose with progressive degenerative arthritis in her spine. While X-rays had been done before, this was the first time I truly felt informed and fully understood her condition. Receiving this diagnosis was heartbreaking, knowing my dog was in pain. However, the care and compassion shown made such a difficult moment easier. We did additional exams, and medications were prescribed to help manage her pain, which made a real difference. Jose reminded me that the most important thing is prioritizing my dog’s quality of life, and that meant so much to hear. I am truly grateful to the entire veterinary team, and especially thankful for Jose’s knowledge, compassion and dedication, he has an amazing bedside manner; It’s very clear that he truly cares deeply and makes both pets and their owners feel comfortable. SIDE NOTE : ( THOSE FRONT DESK GIRLS ARE SUCKS ) they could benefit from more customer service training. Specially a shorty one with black shoulder length hair, she is RUDE!! While the veterinary care was excellent, the front desk interactions were not as welcoming or supportive as I would have hoped

Negative experience: Great vet but I’m giving one star to bring awareness to an issue with how the line is managed. I was seventh in line when another very entitled customer walked in and skipped everyone. I immediately made staff aware, but instead of helping the next person in line, they proceeded to assist the customer who cut. According to your posted rules, this is a first-come, first-served business — however, that was not the case this evening. If there is a system or order in place, it should be enforced fairly. The right thing would have been to help the next person who had been waiting. Please do better and honor your own process so all customers are treated respectfully.

Negative experience: I have been visiting this clinic for the past 5 years, and they have always been excellent, except for today, February 5, 2026, specifically the receptionists. Of the two present, the one on the right, if you're standing in front of them, gave me a dirty look and rolled her eyes because I asked her for something. She also spoke in English with the other receptionist, assuming I wouldn't understand because I'm Latina, and the two of them laughed, as if they were making fun of me, thinking I wouldn't notice. Many thanks to the doctor and her assistants for their service!

Negative experience: The only reason this clinic gets even one star is because of the doctors. They are kind, professional, and clearly care about the animals. Unfortunately, the front desk staff makes the entire experience unbearable. I’ve been here twice, and both times the front desk girls were some of the most disrespectful, rude, and unprofessional people I’ve ever dealt with. No manners, no empathy, and no basic customer service skills. You’re spoken to like you’re an inconvenience rather than a client bringing in a pet for care. The worst part was the complete lack of communication. I called the day before my visit to confirm hours and whether appointments were needed. I was told they don’t take appointments and that I could walk in anytime between 9–4. I rearranged my day and showed up within that window, only to be told they stop taking walk-ins at 12 and “couldn’t help me.” This was never mentioned on the phone. No apology. No acknowledgment of their mistake. Just attitude. It’s incredibly frustrating that a clinic with such good doctors is dragged down by a front desk staff that seems uninterested in doing their job correctly or treating people with basic respect. I truly hope management takes this seriously and replaces or retrains the front desk, because until then, I would not recommend this clinic to anyone — unless you’re willing to tolerate being disrespected just to see the doctors.

Fantastic experience: My first time visiting very affordable.

Fantastic experience: Very budget friendly and efficiently run clinic. There is usually a long wait as it is first come first served, but you can leave and they’ll call you when it’s almost your turn. Great for vaccinations and neuter/spay, all supporting staff and Dr. Adil were pleasant and helpful!

Fantastic experience: I like this vet clinic. Good service and affordable. Waiting time is long but they tell you in advance so you can leave, and they call you when is your turn.

Fantastic experience: Everyone was so kind and took care of my baby elsa with kindness and compassion. My dog was 13 years old and in a lot of pain and bleeding to death. They took her in without an appointment and they took care of my Dog . Thank you for everything you do my dog is no longer suffering. These are good people with reasonable prices.

Negative experience: I took my fur baby 3 times and was diagnosed with a cold. Took him back a second time and they have him some antibiotics. The meds didn't really work. He had breathing issues and snoring very loudly at night. I took him for the 3rd time and was told he had sinusitis. More meds were given again, more antibiotics, 2 injections by the tech who did not know how to give injections and hurt my dog. This place used to be the place to take your dog for low cost. I am not too sure what to think anymore.

Positive experience: The initial visit went well — pricing was reasonable, and the treatment for a skin infection was helpful. However, the follow-up experience was very disappointing. I was told to call after 3 PM on Monday to speak with the vet, but after calling four times and leaving two voicemails, I never received a response. On two occasions, my call was answered and then immediately hung up on. Being hung up on and not having calls returned is unacceptable, especially when it involves follow-up care. While the medical treatment itself was good, the lack of communication and professionalism over the phone was frustrating and concerning

Negative experience: I came in with a animal had just seen get hit by a car. They refused to help me when I walked in with it in my arms, even though it was still alive. Not only that they were very rude. If you care about your animals, don’t take them here. They clearly only want money and they couldn’t even point me in a direction to Take the animal to get help.

Fantastic experience: I took Concha my dog for skin problem and ear infection, José explained very well how to treat this infection gave her the right medication, and is the first time someone is interested to really help my dog been to several vets with no succes I give Jose a plus and thank him for all definitely recomended

This place need to shut down today !

Fantastic experience: Eduardo groomed my Border Collie’s hair perfectly! Lalo’s coat shines now after his bath and his nails along with his fur are trimmed neatly. In addition, they updated all of his annual vaccinations for a good price of $99 called dog pack premium. Lalo’s teeth look fresh and his ears are clean. Eduardo cleaned Lalo’s backside as well all for the price of $55 for his grooming fee. Thank you so much and we will be back next year!

Negative experience: It's like the Little Caesars of animal hospitals. They'll get the job done, but it won't be a pleasant experience for anybody. Seriously, I've never been to an animal care place where everyone that works there blatantly seems to hate you, your pet, and their jobs. Very affordable boarding though, just don't expect anybody to tell you anything about how your pet is doing when they're there or how they did after. You just have to hope they were treated right .

Frank Costello Posted on Google 5 months ago

Positive experience: Affordable, but it takes a very long time to get your dog in and a very long time to get your dog out as we speak. I’ve been sitting here for three hours.

Jessica Griffin Posted on Google 5 months ago

Negative experience: I made an appointment on Thursday to have my dog checked because he was crying and clearly in pain. The vet prescribed medication, but I had to wait almost three hours to be seen. Unfortunately, my dog continued to cry, so I had to return on Monday. I called ahead to explain that the medication was not working and that my dog was still in distress. I was told that I had to come to the clinic in person to schedule another appointment, even though I had already taken time off from work. When I returned, I was placed on a three-hour waiting list again and was informed that I would be charged again just to have my dog rechecked for the same issue. I do appreciate that the clinic is affordable, and the staff is generally nice, but this experience did not feel professional. When a dog is clearly suffering, there should be more urgency and care, not repeated long waits and extra charges for the same unresolved problem. I believe this clinic has potential, but they need to focus more on the well-being of the animals, not just the business side

Negative experience: ⁉️‼️⁉️!!!IF YOU LOVE AND CHERISH YOUR PETS DONT BRING THEM HERE. JUST READ THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS!!!⁉️‼️⁉️ I strongly urge pet owners to seek emergency care elsewhere. For your pet’s safety and well-being, please choose a facility that truly understands the meaning of the word “emergency.” Your pet’s life may depend on it. I had a deeply concerning experience at this facility. My cat had undergone surgery only two days earlier, and we came in due to complications. When the vet tech, identified to me as Juan Cervantes, took her to be weighed, he grabbed her by the scruff, flipped her onto her back, and held her there to weigh her. This method was unnecessarily forceful and completely inappropriate, especially considering her recent surgery. She has never been weighed this way before — she is always gently lifted by staff or placed on the scale by me when asked. Throughout the process, he continued to handle her by the scruff and was rough around her surgical site. After flipping her upright again, he struck her hindquarters — the area with her sutures — against the counter. I immediately voiced my concern to the veterinarian and explained exactly what had happened, including that the impact to the incision area could lead to infection. The vet tech denied his actions, became defensive, and refused to provide his last name. The veterinarian repeatedly tried to change the subject and minimize what occurred. Only after I continued to bring the issue back to the forefront was my cat finally prescribed antibiotics. The handling my cat received was rough, inappropriate, and done with full knowledge of her very recent surgery. The unwillingness to acknowledge the situation and the defensive behavior from both the technician and the veterinarian made the experience even more distressing. This facility should not be allowed to use the word “hospital” in its name. The term implies urgency, compassion, and immediate medical attention — none of which are provided here. Pet owners are led to believe that emergencies will be prioritized, yet even critical cases are forced to wait hours. A four-hour wait for an emergency is not only unacceptable, it is dangerous. It is clear why many people end up here — not everyone has thousands of dollars to spend at premium clinics. But affordability should never come at the cost of ethics, humanity, or basic emergency care. This establishment operates in a way that feels untrustworthy and unethical, and the treatment of emergency situations is inhumane. The countless low-star reviews tell the same story over and over again. After reading them, it becomes hard to understand how anyone with compassion could allow these situations to continue. The atmosphere alone is hostile — cold expressions from the front desk, dismissive attitudes, and an overall environment that reflects a business model rather than a medical facility. Everything about this place raises red flags.

Fantastic experience: Alief Animal Hospital Staff, I want to express my deepest gratitude for the compassionate care and support you provided during one of the most difficult days of my life. Your kindness and professionalism as you helped me say goodbye to my beloved boxer, Holly, meant more than words can express. The gentle, heartfelt way you guided us through this painful decision brought comfort during an impossibly hard time. Your respect for the bond we shared and the dignity you showed Holly in her final moments will not be forgotten. Thank you for being there for both of us over the past 11 years, and especially today when we needed it most. With sincere appreciation, Linda H.

Fantastic experience: Where do I start? The place might not look super fancy, and they don’t take appointments — it’s all walk-ins, kind of like the county animal hospital. But if you can look past that, you’ll find a real hidden gem right here in Alief! They offer all kinds of vet care at prices that are actually affordable, and they truly care about your pets. I’m so thankful for the team here — they’ve been amazing every time I’ve brought my fur babies in.

Fantastic experience: The Alief Animal Hospital is by far the best. Very inexpensive. My dog need his eye removed and I went to a previous vet hospital that wanted close to $5000. Had me in tears. I came here the next morning and $600 was the price. I was so relieved and greatful. Thank you guys so much for understanding that we do care for our pets like humans and unstanding that many people don't have deep pockets..

Negative experience: Made an appointment via phone, appointments online was for the next day. When I went in for the appointment the person who "assisted" me after I filled out new patient information was very rude and told me that they don't do appointment but only walk in and they're 10 people ahead of me. My experience with them was more than horrible. Dogs barking at each other with a small waiting area. Circus atmosphere! Walked out and made an appointment with another facility closer to me.

Negative experience: I brought my dog in because his back legs suddenly stopped working. I waited in line with tears streaming down my face, but the front desk made eye contact with me and never once asked if I was okay. Once I reached the front and explained the situation, I was informed that I could be placed on the wait list and would be called in about three hours. There was no sense of empathy or urgency, as if I had walked in asking for a casual nail trim. When I didn’t respond, out of shock, I was told that I could go elsewhere and was handed a sheet with recommended vets and hospitals. They also mentioned that they weren’t sure about their pricing, as if that was my biggest concern in that moment. The entire interaction felt very dismissive because my dog wasn’t bleeding or screaming, so it wasn’t considered an emergency in that instant. I left and immediately found another vet who took me in and actually cared about my dog. They treated it as an emergency and emphasized the importance of getting him on the proper medications as soon as possible. By the way, four hours later, I received a call from Alief Animal Hospital, but I never answered.

Sonia Abarca Posted on Google 8 months ago

Negative experience: I’ll start by mentioning the positive side — the prices here are very affordable, and the vet along with the assistant vet are both very kind and genuinely seem to care about the pets. However, the front desk staff is a completely different story. They are not welcoming at all, and whenever you ask a question, it feels like you’re bothering them. Every single one of them comes off as extremely rude. I really hope management takes this seriously and doesn’t bring the same front desk staff to the new hospital that’s being built.

Rony Hernandez Posted on Google 8 months ago

Negative experience: The doctor is terrible. I asked a few questions because I was nervous and he said he would refuse service. Thankfully the staff under him was great, but the old white doctor is extremely rude and egotistical. 0 empathy.

Sara Hunter Posted on Google 8 months ago

Fantastic experience: It is a very busy practice but when it is my dogs turn, I never feel rushed. They are professional and kind. They take time to explain treatments needed and why. Sometimes the wait is longer than I would like but that is because they have built their patient base…..because they are good! They are also reasonable on price which means I can afford to keep up with my pets/dogs medical needs.

Norma Jean Posted on Google 8 months ago

Negative experience: So today I dropped my two dogs off ( female shipoos) at the requested time between Friday October 3rd between 8- 9am. So I did. One of my girls was getting spayed and her nails cartarized and my other girl was getting her nails done as well. So I called around 3:30pm to find out how my girl's were doing as I hadn't gotten a call with an update. I was told ( not sure which girl answered the phone my fault for not asking) thay they were doing fine and were waking up and would be ready for pickup around 5-6pm. So I get there 5:40pm and was told by front desk girl named Jennifer that, they were not ready and I needed to come back around 8-9pm. So of course I was not happy about that. I was polite but told her that this is ridiculous. So then I get home and call back to find out who I had talked to earlier when I was there earlier ( because I didn't get her name and I wanted to know because she was so rude) so then at 7pm when I called i was told that Bubbles who was getting her nails done was just now getting them done. So both my dogs had been in a cage for 12 hours. I have been going to this veterinary clinic for 25 years. My mistake for coming back because the last time my dog Bubbles was getting a procedure done she was there from the am to 9pm and the procedure was never done, and I had to come back another day to have it done. I'm so upset, my poor girls being there all day stressed and none of the evening staff seem to care. Some years back they stop talking appointments and now it's hours just to get checked in. It's absolutely ridiculous. This place has went from a reliable affordable veterinary clinic/ hospital to a place of good luck in getting your procedures done in a professional timely matter. So heads up to anyone thinking of bringing your pet here, be prepared to wait for hours to get your pet seen and good luck of getting your pet back within 12 hours even for simple procedures, and also make sure it was done at all. The moment they got rid of appointments, should have been the red flag for me to find another vet. So sad because I loved the morning staff and Dr Thomas.

Negative experience: I took my cat to Alief Animal Hospital on 9/7/25 and we saw Dr. Hare. I told him I had just moved and it seemed as tho he was having a hard time adjusting to the new place and had hot spots. Dr. Hare proceeds to tell me those aren't hot spots he is causing self mutilation. I was so confused because I had taken purrcy there a couple of other times for the same hot spots and they were the same exact thing. I also told him he had slowed down on eating. Dr. Hare says he is just having an allergic reaction and after the medicine he will be better. Well Purrcy did not get better. I had to take purrcy back to this animal hospital on 9/16/25 because now he had completely stopped eating, drinking and stopped going to the litter box. When I told the young lady his symptoms she pushed us ahead of 16 other pets. I knew it couldn't be good. When I spoke to a different Dr the first thing she said was lets do some blood work. I took Purrcy home that day and just tried to make him comfortable. I received a call back on 9/17/25 with the results from the blood work. Purrcy was in severe kidney failure. I had to watch him suffer because Dr. Hare failed to take the necessary steps inorder to find out what was going on internally. Purrcy died on 9/17/25 and I watched him suffer in pain. Not only did he suffer but I also was suffering. Now I don't have Purrcy due to Dr. Hare and his negligence.

Positive experience: They offer great pricing for pet medical and grooming services. They also have some great hours. The guy who does grooming is very kind and does a great job. The front desk staff is usually pretty kind during the afternoon, unfortunately I can't say the same during the mornings. I know mornings is there busiest time and people are showing up with various issues regarding their pets, I think a smile and a good morning gesture could go a long ways with improving customer service and retention.

Negative experience: I have had 3 bad experiences with this place First one of my puppies caught parvo from being in a room that wasnt cleaned after a visit and then they charged me almost 220 to treat my dog for parvo 2nd i brought my brother puppy in for stitches after getting attacked by another dog they told me the puppy would make a good and smooth recovery and they charged me 600 for stitches only for the puppy to die 2 days later 3rd my dog had a heat stroke while i was at work i called the alief animal hospital and told them my dog was having a heat stroke and that it was an emergency, they told me to bring him in i drive 25 minutes to get to them just for them to tell me its a hour long wait and had me wait while they gave dogs immunizations and check ups and gave me ice packs to put on my dog and wait till i was next long story short my dog has a seizure in the back seat of my car while trying to cool him off after waiting in the car for over a hour and a half i walk in to tell them my dog isnt breathing anymore they have me rush to bring him in for the doctor to try to charge me 400 for b.s service on my dog thats not breathing after i told them for what they tried to charge me 200 to euthenize my already dead dog. Negative experience: This place is very dirty and nasty. They stay crowded because of the cheap prices, but the staff and doctors are unexperienced.

Cindie Flores Posted on Google 9 months ago

Fantastic experience: I have brought all my pets here and never had any issues. They are always thoughtful and have not misdiagnosed my pet like other places I have tried before. I definitely trust them!

Positive experience: Jose ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ He saved my dog. Some other vet (there) cut my dog’s tail and one of the vein wasn’t fixed properly. When I picked my dog from the vet the cut wasn’t cover at all so I had to clean and cover the cut myself. That vet didn’t do was he was supposed to do to. When I took my dog back to the vet the same vet “fixed” my dog’s tail and it was worst!! 3 is a charm, Thanks God Jose was there to save my dog when I took him the third time. I have been taking all dogs here for long time. Prices are reasonable, good service. I didn’t have any complain until last week. Thank you very much Jose.

Fantastic experience: Very mindful and helpful !! Love the hospitality and the attention . My dog was treated like royalty !

Fantastic experience: I want to thank and recognize veterinary assistant José for the excellent care he provided to my dog Luna. From the very beginning, he showed kindness, patience, and professionalism, making us feel confident and comfortable. He also took the time to clearly explain every step of the visit and answered all of my questions in detail. You can truly see his passion for animals and his commitment to his work. Highly recommended! Thanks Jose!

Fantastic experience: Best Animal Hospital experience, compared to 6 other places we taken our Feline/Canine. Fair great price, we highly recommend Alief Animal Hospital. Thank you to Vet, Staff & Team. We Luv yah...

Suzane Dorshaw Posted on Google 9 months ago

Negative experience: This place totally sucks!! It looks very dirty inside and is so crowded there's not even room for people to sit down. They told us they would not take appointments that it was on a walk-in basis only and when we got there they said it would be from 2 to 3 hours before we were even seen. We decided to leave after 2 hours of waiting and decided to take our business elsewhere then they called our house an hour after we had arrived home and we do not live close and they asked for my dog's name and I told them we decided to leave because they took too long. I would not recommend this place to anyone no matter how inexpensive it may be.

Fantastic experience: They saved my cat tail Other Vets told me he has Necrosis and wanted to cut his tail This Alief Animal Hospital save him they where accurate that was just an infection and they give him antibiotics and my cat tail was fine in less than 5 days I love this Animal Hospital they save my Cat and my money

Fantastic experience: They always take very good care of my puppy. Team is friendly and competent.

Fantastic experience: Great staff, caring for my BehR. I called and checked on him and they were so nice about it. Also, very affordable for kenneling.

Meli Santamaria Posted on Google 10 months ago

Positive experience: Dr. Tamas saved my cat! The only thing is that they work with walk in so you will have to wait a lot.

shabana khan Posted on Google 10 months ago

Positive experience: My experience with Alief Animal Hospital was okay, but the wait times are really long, which can be frustrating. I also feel their services are a bit expensive

Ernest Umana Posted on Google 10 months ago

Fantastic experience: It's been a long week. We lost one of our pets and finally found him. First, I took him to the Alief Animal Hospital. They were terrific, and they helped me out with everything. But one gentleman helped Mr. Jose explain everything I needed to know to help my dog. Would have liked to talk to the doctor. I'm guessing it was a busy day. Would hardly recommend this place.

Laura Williams Posted on Google 10 months ago

Negative experience: I've been here plenty of times. Normally they are wonderful. Today I came to have my 3 dogs groom. Eduardo the groomer was 100% fantastic very patient with my dogs and left my Great Pyreneeses looking like rock stars. The only reason I gave 2 stars was because unfortunately the person at the front desk Rachel was EXTREMELY rude with a terrible attitude and not helpful at all for no reason what so ever. The rest of the staff, specially Heidi love my dogs and they are great.

J R Posted on Google 11 months ago

Positive experience: Wait time is terrible! Seems a little bit unorganized some people come in after you they get seen before you! other times they call you and then they don’t have a scale for your dog so you still have to wait. I asked the lady how long it would take for me to get seen. I’ve been here since eight and it was 10:20. She told me other people have been here since 7:50. I got a room at 11:35 and somebody came in to see him at 11:55 The nicest technician yes I am not saying anything about their friendliness. It’s just the wait time it’s terrible.! Customer service encompasses everything the service you give your clients and the wait time, being conscientious of that. Is also important.

Fantastic experience: I love this place. They always take care of my dog and the price is always reasonable

Becky Peña Posted on Google 11 months ago

Fantastic experience: The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. It was very busy and had a 2 hour wait. I was able to do errands and they held my place in line.

Ana A Posted on Google 11 months ago

Positive experience: There is a reason why people wait to get seviced. Are the lines long...yes, sometimes more than others (that why they get 4 starts)....do you have to wait....yes...but for the price and the convenience that they offer the cheapest xray, sugery services, euthanasia, and grooming services in SW Houston. They will call your cell phone when its almost your turn. The staff stays till 9pm at times just to make sure they see all the patients for that day. No one is turned away...and sometimes you see the Emergencies coming in and you know you're gonna have to wait. My suggestion, get there early and go mid-week! Ive been going here for over 20 yrs and have experienced all their services. Sometimes the service is rushed, but most time they try and take time with you and your pet. If you dont want to wait. Just go elsewhere. You'll pay for it....just wait and see.

Negative experience: Me and my mom took my baby kitten who was around 4 weeks old here last Sunday because he was lethargic and OBVIOUSLY breathing abnormally, and this clinic was the closest to my home. My baby kitten died the very next morning... First off, i should've known better that because this place is a "walk ins only" clinic, I was going to be waiting HOURS just so i can have my kitty looked at. Went there at 10:30am, and received service at around 1:45PM. Nevertheless, i stayed because i figured maybe ill get a diagnosis for what my kitty has or at least the vet can tell me whether he'll be okay or not. An ANSWER atleast! Heres where i still cant wrap my head around, and why i have to write this review. Before you even get put on a wait list, you have to fill out an application and explain why youre coming to the clinic. I wrote why i came. Hours go by and they finally call us. They tell us go in this room and so we sit and wait. A male vet tech comes in and he asks us why we're here... he didnt even let me explain the full reason. I think he just saw the bottle i feed the kitty with, and he simply asks "what are you feeding this kitten?" I tell him kitten formula since hes a baby. And he stayed on that topic and never let me finish my actual reason why. He never even bothered to see the kitten's behavior. Horrible communication. He leaves and the Veterinarian comes in. THE SAME THING HAPPENS. he also doesnt let me finish why i am here, and me and my mom were trying to stop his rambling over how to bottle feed a kitten so he can actually look at my baby and see if he's okay that he is weak and breathing abnormally, and give us a diagnosis. But he never does, he just says " well all kittens are weak you just gotta stop bottle feeding him and he should improve." And he leaves. So the same vet tech that attended us earlier comes back and immediately starts giving him this big vaccine filled with fluid and giving him dewormer WITHOUT EVEN TELLING US, when i was never advised during the consult, nor did the vet give me any diagnosis that this can be done. I literally was like "HEY! what vaccine are you giving him??" And because I stopped him is when he finally explained what he was doing.. awful communication with that vet tech. "Oh, its not a vaccine. Its just fluid for him " is how he responded to me and my mom I wont ever come back here. Not only is it pretty disorganized, but my visit with the Vet and that technician was very disapointing and infuriating, it felt like i was never being heard. My kitten passed away the next morning and at least i wouldve preffered a "hes not looking too good" from the vet instead of giving me this false hope that my baby would have survived. I wanted a remedy or even a diagnosis at least, for my kitten's behavior and breathing, but ended up paying for some dewormer and some fluid and no answer.

Fantastic experience: Affordable vet care no appointment is needed unless you are scheduling surgery for your female animal to be spayed. They are open till 8 on weekdays. Be prepared for a wait if you are not going to be there when they open as it is a busy very clinic.

Jose Gamboa Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: I do not recommend this clinic. The lack of professionalism does not exist on Google and the GPS says it closes at 8 and I went at 6:28 and they do not attend or even provide information about any animal symptoms that need attention in an emergency.

nikki mizzell Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: The stars are for the vet technician NOEMI. A pleasant young lady. NOEMI was professional and kind and provided concise details for service charges. NOEMI handled Rocco gently. The actual VET was a whole different story to say the least. After she insulted me and cut me off several times mid conversation, I said to myself 'Jesus take the wheel' . She called my cat morbidly obese. Rude. My cat said....But that faded blue hair ... I should have known better.

Negative experience: My recent experience with Alief Animal Hospital was my last experience with them. We brought my 13 year old dog in on April 19th to receive an evaluation for his sudden weight loss, shortness of breath and loss of appetite. We waited for 5 hours before we were seen just for the doctor to not fully explain the situation of a “mass” that was felt in my dogs stomach. The vet didn’t even come in to explain what was going on with my dog he just sent his vet tech in to just say my dog had severe bronchitis and dehydration. We took the measures needed to care for my pup who was diagnosed with “bronchitis” and he declined that same week. On April 28th we brought him to one of our local vets who sadly suggested we put him down as he was declining and had fluid in his lungs. The vet stated he had a little bronchitis but he had a whole lot more going on as well. I was told to reach out to Kathy the office manager who said she would get back to me it’s been a week and I’ve heard nothing. Alief Animal Hospital is just money hungry and they lack care and compassion for their clients. Definitely won’t be back and I highly recommend people go elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: “Don’t judge a book by its cover” Looking past the dated aesthetics, I observed a caring community. $54 for my dogs annual 4 shots would have been the price for rabies vax-only at the emergency vet I had to go to the day before. Even with it packed, we were in and out in an hour. Highly recommend for annual vaccinations. Bonus: rabies vax is Texas proud shaped

Ant Scov Posted on Google 1 year ago

Positive experience: You get what you pay for. I ‘ve taken all my pets here for years but for emergencies and surgeries because it’s cheap. Some of the staff are very rude. Dr. Ferdinand is absolutely amazing. But the people that help him are rude. And I know my pets come back with fleas no matter what so I treat that at home. They get the job done. Just remember that you get what you pay for.

Merelyn Perez Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Please ask for nurse Jose, he’s a blessing, huge heart and a lot of love for animals but unique with my 16 year old Apolonia. I honestly wish he can be the veterinarian here. Finding a good veterinarian is difficult because I’m looking for someone with the ability to listen to me and also with a huge heart for animals not just for money and Jose have all that in him. This clinic is better with you Jose, thank you for your love to my Apo and for always listening to me .

Amantha Rose Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: It is a walk in clinic. I will say I had an appointment one time and still ended up on a waiting list. Dealing with them is definitely an all day event but I think it’s worth it especially for the price.

Olga Blanco Posted on Google 1 year ago

Positive experience: I was in dire needs when I decided to take my Bentley to this animal hospital. They did take care of my needs especially since it was an emergency, however the whole experience took about two hours. I only needed to update his shots. It was packed full of people waiting to be taken in. The place definitely looks dated and in need of a makeover. The exam table in the room we were brought into was rusty and the walls and floors looked like they were past due for a restoration. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming, definitely 5 stars for them. The 3 stars is just an overall average. I did definitely appreciate that they took us in day of without an appointment and that they stayed open till 7pm. In an emergency situation I would probably use their services again.

Colleen Lyman Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: I took 2 of my dogs to get treatment for itchy skin on one and a possible muscle sprain or broken foot on another. After the examination, and xray on one, meds were administered and sent home. In just 24 hours, I can see improvement. I couldn't ask for more.

Zayin Rodriguez Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Affordable and reliable veterinary. What I like about this vet clinic is that they’ll call you when you’re close to your appointment time, makes it convenient especially if you have antisocial dogs.

Angelique Pye Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Best prices for surgery and medical care. They operate on a walk-in basis so waits can be hours long. The good thing is that you don’t have to stay and wait, they can call you when it’s your turn to be seen. My rescue was able to get neutered the same day. Half the price of other vets and they did a great job. So happy a neighbor recommended them to me.

Tashay Castille Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Great with your pets and affordable prices for service. You may have a wait time but they move kind of fast. Worth the wait

Negative experience: I wish i could put 0 stars. Stay away from this animal hospital! The receptionist I think her name was Jennifer was very rude! The when i went to the restroom i heard people in the back cursing and hitting animals They mistreat your animals so if you love your furry friend DO. NOT. GO . HERE!

Sandria Dixon Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: I don't usually write reviews but, based on the unprofessionalism I experienced from the front office staff, I am compelled to share my experience. I spent nearly $800 with this clinic and the lack of professionalism and competency is quite appauling. The Two stars are for the doctors and vet techs. My pet had surgery and it went well. But the management of the aftercare was handled so poorly. I found medication cheaper on chewy. They agreed to approve the next day. Three days has passed after my dog surgery. I called to get it resolved, long waits on the phone and misinformation by multiple staff. I left message with staff and didnt have the decency to call me back. This is the office manager I am speaking of. They are unorganized and lack decorum. I rather pay more to get better customer service, than deal with these unprofessional, incompetent front office staff. Update: go somewhere else that might be a little bit more expensive to get the job done right the first time. Everyone incompetent, just happy my pup didn't die on the table. The surgery well it was just she needed some sutures, was not done properly. Therefore it did not heal properly.

Fantastic experience: Jose is the best, he gave the best care to my dog Canelo. I’m grateful for him. He literally saved his life. Thank you Jose!

Rosie Romero Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: The staff here is really really nice. Jose is the BEST VET TECH EVER. Not only is he great with my dog TACO but also very nice and helpful with us as the fur baby parent. Prices are good . The wait time is really long that’s the only bad thing I see (but it only shows how economical and nice it is here ) . So need to get there early to get the early appointment. But I would definitely ask for Jose .

Negative experience: Horrible experience. Negligent and irresponsible vets here. My close friend took her cat to get a dental procedure at 7:30 in the morning and when she finally called them a little after 5:30pm- because they told me he was gonna be ready at 5:30- they told her they were just about to get started with everything at basically 6 pm (after she had to call them with no updates all day) but we found out he was in a tiny carrier all day, with no food, no water, no litter box with no consideration of how if they wanted that to be allowed. They then had the audacity to tell her that they had other appointments and emergencies and they had to basically forget about him until she called. We had no updates all day either. The vet was supposed to call this morning but it is now 1:30 pm with no contact from them. Don’t go here. I can’t imagine how they treat the animals. We were sick all night knowing how he was treated all day. The vet refused to talk to them as well when they went to pick up their cat. Shameful and embarrassing. Own up to your malpractice!!! Especially when people are trusting their fur babies with you.

Jennifer L Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: This vet is a little cheaper compared to other vet clinics, what I don’t like is the waiting time place is always packed I think that’s the reason why front staff are stressed and rude ,also they need to be more higienic pets poop or urine in the waiting area and nobody sanitized it it’s smell awful I feel stinky after visiting this place. Otherwise you have to wait for hours for a minute vet doctor check up your pet they do it incredibly fast ¡wow! . But anyway I don’t have the money to find a better place to take my cats for care. That makes me sad

Israel Cedeno Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: They professionals here are always so kind and generous to my cat and myself. I should have came here from the beginning. But I know now this will be the only place I bring my little guy from now on!

Negative experience: My dog was a patient here 10 years but the final visit he had two seizures - once while being boarded before a neutering procedure and once when I picked him up. He never had them before or again. What is worse is the Dr.’s called me after he had the first one and basically tried to get me to admit I had seen Junior have a seizure before. I asked him to describe the seizure and I told him that I had seen him cough once or twice but NEVER seen the symptoms he described to me. He told me that my dog was fine to proceed with the neutering and that I could pick him up afterwards. When I picked him up he had another seizure right as the tech handed me the leash. It was traumatic to see. And what shocked everyone in the lobby was the cold attitude of the doctor as I sobbed in the lobby and my dog convulsed and lost control of his bladder. He said, well you better take him some where or he’ll die. On top of that, they avoided sending me his records after several attempts. And when I got them finally I noticed they altered his vet records to say I acknowledged that he had a previous history of seizures and totally omitted the incident when I picked him up. Be very with boarding and ask to review your pets’ records regularly.

Fantastic experience: Came home to a dog who could NOT stand on one of his legs. Googled this place and it was the BEST THING I could have done. They were fast, accommodating and took care of my very large very scary looking baby. We were in and out in under 2 hours without an appointment. My baby had an appointment, x-rays, two medications and they explained everything about his injury. I left the building with a plan and a treatment schedule that worked. I was very pleased with the staff and the services. The building isn't pretty, the exam rooms are older, but the services are great and the costs are the best I have EVER seen. We walked out paying just over three hundred for everything. I work for AliefISD so I recognized some of the techs. Overall I will be switching all of my pets over the Christmas break for all of our future vet needs.

Fantastic experience: I’m so happy I decided to take my cat for her very first grooming! She’s 4 years old and has never been groomed before, so I was a bit nervous. But Ximena, the groomer, was absolutely amazing! She really listened to what I wanted and made sure to avoid using anesthesia on my sweet Gary. I can't wait to bring her back for another session! My cat was a bit anxious during her first grooming session, so Ximena took her time cutting her hair. She worked slowly, allowing my cat to take breaks in between to relax.I asked Ximena not to bathe my cat, and she respected my wishes! Instead, she used a lovely cologne that made my kitty smell fresh and clean, just like a shower. I'm really happy with the service and would recommend this place to everyone—definitely a 10/10! I've been taking my animals here for their manuals shots or any other problems they present and I have never had a problem before.

Fantastic experience: This was my first experience at Alief Animal Hospital. I'm really suprised to read so many negative reviews. I called first to confirm hours and was told they do walk-ins unless it's for dental or surgery. This place actually IS a low-cost vet and doesn't just call themselves that. I brought in my dog and a family friends dog. They both needed their annual check up and shots. My dog had a minor issue I needed checked. The other dog also had an ear infection. For both dogs exam, shots and even getting a prescription filled it was only $152.00!! I was shocked at the price, but definitely not complaining. All of the staff were very friendly. They were very busy with a lot of people there, they told me 10 people were ahead of me and if I needed to leave they would call when there were only 3 ahead of me. True to their word, the lady called me so I wouldn't miss my spot. I was very happy with the care they provided as well as their pricing.

Fantastic experience: Doctor Technician Mr. Jose was super nice, professional and showed lots of care for my pet. My little Catalina. He took the time to examine her from top to bottom, asking questions and providing insight of her situation. It wasn’t for him and the friendly front office staff I don’t know what else to say. The other doctor was with flat expressions. I don’t know if he was too busy to address me directly or is his personality like that. I hope it was just a bad day for him. By the way he just look to my dog and didn’t say anything not even attempt to examine her.

Maria Torres Chavez Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: I been coming here for several years for my dog’s vaccines and grooming. Staff is friendly and on top of that Eduardo’s is always making sure Cody looks exactly how we like after getting groomed.
