Negative experience: I been going to them for over 7 years any time I had to cancel I have all ways followed there policy about cancellation. This time was no difference except who ever was supposed to cancel them didn’t now they have banned me from taking any more animals that need neutering. I guess they are more interested in making money than helping animals. very very disappointed at this establishment I thought they where better than this

Fantastic experience: $18 a vaccine for dogs and puppies. I got both pups done in under about 40 minutes. Line wasn't long, the girls signing in people were quick. I'll definitely be going back.

Fantastic experience: This place is amazing. I am new to the TNR world and was referred here. The employees doing intake are kind and seem to be very organized. I had a concern with a kitten I brought in and the clerk was kind enough to ask the vet for her opinion. Later that evening, the vet actually called me. We talked further about my concerns and she was very reassuring. The vet also took time to walk me through this program and also best practices related to the ferals who have seemed to call my home theirs.

Positive experience: Got my dog fixed for a really fair price the only hard thing is getting an appointment. I had to look everyday to see if there was an opening. Definitely worth it though.

Negative experience: I have managed to get 1 appointment for my cat since the new system started and it was the wrong kind of appointment . I don't understand how people get appointments. I've tried every morning for months. I'm 30 minutes in every Friday at 6am. Nothing. Very frustrating. All they tell you is keep trying. Friday we put up new openings. They also do not mention the difference between female cat and lion. Apparently one is for TNR and the other is regular cats. They say they explain it, but nowhere online can I find an explanation of that. Had to find out the hard way once in line they denied seeing my cat because I had clicked female lion and that was wrong. So after all that wait of months, I got denied. Female cat searching is even worst. No appointments. Ridiculous

Fantastic experience: I had nothing but good things to say about my experience with my 5 lb Shihtzu. He had one impacted testicle And for just a little bit more they were able to get both testicles removed a rabies shot and take home medication for just under $200. This surgery would have cost me so so much more anywhere else because his other testicle was in his upper thigh. They sent emails and called to check up on him a few days afterwards. But the healing went terrific. The facilities were clean and there was a separate line for dogs and cats. My dog was small enough to hold in my arms but I felt sorry for some of the people with larger dogs who had anxiety issues and were pulling and yanking on their shoulders. If you know your dog might have a hard time waiting 20 minutes or more, it wouldn't be a bad idea to bring a large carrier to put him inside of and just push it along as you wait in line.

Also for being a local you get 15 to 25 dollars off the procedure, I just forgot how much it was . They offered other services and I took a couple like nail trimming , and other vaccinations that are essential for cats . Pay less than 100 for all that . Will be taking my other pets to get their services from them .

Fantastic experience: I was looking for affordable vaccines for my 5 month old German Sheppard mixed and found Critters without Litters. Their vaccines are affordable enough to not break the bank. The staff was amazingly kind, helpful and worked fast. If you are in Bakersfield and surrounding areas, I highly recommend going here.

Negative experience: Took both my pug and my cane corso for their shots, they both got extremely sick. They were both perfectly healthy dogs before having their shots. 1 or 2 days after their vaccines they both fell extremely sick I called and all they told me to do was take them elsewhere to be checked out. Unfortunately my cane corse passed away and he had a very bad and painful death. I truly regret taking them to this place as we are devasted from our dogs death.

Fantastic experience: I was terrified to bring my daughters kitten to be fixed, but it had to be done, and I'm so glad I brought her to critters without litters. They were so patient with me and all my questions and took such good care of my grand kitty! They even called the next day to check in and make sure she was doing well. If you're looking for a place to get your fur baby fixed, I definitely recommend it.

Fantastic experience: Great place to take your fur kids for vaccination. I've been taking our four legged kid there since a pup for all his shots and yearly booters and now are taking our new pup there for all the same treatments. They're very quick with the shots once they take them too the back but expect a wait when many people do walk ins.

Fantastic experience: I am so grateful to have this incredible resource in Bakersfield. I rescued my pup Yoshi and brought him in for his first round of shots today and was very impressed. First off, the two times I called them I got a very patient and cheerful person both times, I really appreciated that. Then when I took my pup today there was a line but I was completely finished within 20 minutes. Everyone there was so nice and helpful I feel really confident and happy to bring Yoshi there.

Negative experience: The staff here is amazing except Alondra. She does not have a friendly demeanor for speaking with people and interacting with animals. If you don't like your job find something else that you will actually love.

Negative experience: Can't find any appointments to spay cats from around the city or pounds I have all females that I will like to help if there's any for the feral ones but if not will like to pay if I need to but please help me don't understand stand the city control with animals if we help the animals feed them take care of them but they need help on not having more cats.

Positive experience: Very thankful for this organization. However, I have had 3 ani.als tended to as well as 2 I've adopted that previously were cared for there as well... some of the documentation they provide makes you wonder if it the same animal that you have. I have sisters that one was recorded as 4-6 months while the other was estimated to be a year. They were from the same litter and the bigger of the two was recorded as the younger cat. Also, 2 of my dogs were supposedly chiped but have no chip to be found. I even registered online as directed. Wonder who's chip has my info . I think a tad bit attention to details like this are way Important and may be a true resource an owner can trust and use for their pet. How is it acceptable to falsify patient records (which is the truth of what is happening even if by accident or lack of personal responsibility). In hindsight I guess at least the animals won't multuply...

Fantastic experience: Ladies were so kind, me and my boyfriend took our beautiful baby Otis to get his first shots and the wait was a bit long not going to lie but the process was so smooth and getting the shots was shorter than the wait. Super smooth service and incredible prices

Positive experience: Well, the people seemed nice when I went & picked up cat traps for strays, but appointments have to be made online. I couldn't figure it out & when I called, they seemed less than interested in helping me. So, unfortunately, the stray kitties around my house will be multiplying like crazy every time a female comes into heat.

Fantastic experience: I've been to Critters Without Litters for a few years now. I've taken my cats for their vaccines and neutering. Today I took our newest member of our family, Bella for her vaccines. I got there by 10AM and was out before 11:30AM. The two girls checking in our pets were efficient, patient and kind. The girl who took my Bella was so sweet, she even carried Bella since Bellas a big baby and was nervous. Services took but only a couple minutes.

Fantastic experience: I recently took my 2 dogs to get neutered and let me tell you how it went. Setting the appt up was super fast, simple and quite easy. We didn't wait long to get an appt for Taco or Batman. All the workers there were so helpful and caring. I was nervous at first but the way the employees were, reassured me that my pups were in great hands. The price is super affordable, and loved that it was affordable for us. Thank you Critters without Litters. I am grateful for your wonderful service.

Positive experience: Staff is super kind and tries their best to work with you and your pets. The director, I believe her name is Vicky Thrasher on the other hand, is extremely rude and condescending to the clients. She approached us in a confrontational manner and stared at us grossly when we went in to try to get our pet fixed after trying to get an appointment for weeks. Very unwelcoming on her part.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this place there all so friendly. I've gotten my dog spayed and I took her to get chipped. I just have to say I never worry about taking Pepper for anything because I know they will take care of her and they explain everything to where you understand and they are so friendly I thank all of you who take time into caring for my little one

Fantastic experience: I managed to get in behind a cancellation. They took me right in the next day. And did an excellent job!

Positive experience: Such a great place they have always taken very good care of my animals, however, they are very hard to get into now that you have to make an appointment on the phone. They no longer allow you to show up at 4 AM and whoever comes gets an appointment. It’s so sad that their services are being taken down especially when we’re such a community that needs this program so badly.

Negative experience: Update; since 2024 when are we able to schedule an appointment??? You guys have been booked please post updates or more info I need to get the cats fix asap .//// I took my Max there so he could get his chip since he always runs away, he's an inside dog, he never leaves our area but I'm afraid one day his gonna leave the property so I decided that was the best thing and to get his shots I paid $35 dollars for chip and rabies shots and I left a $20 deposit for his appointment to get neuter in September, they are a little booked. There was a long line to pay/register Max, it took under an hour but the water mister was on and fans and mostly is all shaded they have free leashes the waiting for them to get shoots and or chip is fast about 10 minutes. The staff is nice and professional. Your dog goes alone inside with one of the employees and you wait outside for them they are done in about 2 minutes.

Fantastic experience: A blessing for us Who don't have much money for our loving pets and their vaccines

Negative experience: I used to be able to just walk in for spay and neuter services or make an appointment for a week out. Now they say they only accept appointments made on their website but every day when you check the website it says there are no appointments available! The lady I talked to on the phone said they open every day for 90 days in advance and no more walk ins. Ridiculous!

Positive experience: Very helpful n friendly staff. Knowledgeable if you have any questions. One bad thing you will be standing the whole time as they are no chairs or benches. This is a great place to get your pets vaccines for a small amount of money highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I recommend Critters without Litters to my clients that need to get any vaccines for their pets prior to attending Petsmart's Training program. I also use Critters for my personal pets for vaccine Boosters and spay/neuter. Great place!

Fantastic experience: Wait time to register is longer than waiting for the shots. I love that they have the misters/fans and have me wait inside for my pug. I've waited 30mins to almost 2 hours.

Fantastic experience: Very professional and caring staff. Reasonable and affordable. Took both of my dogs there for their rabies and distemper/parvo shots and saved about $100. All shots are $18 except for the flu shot, which is $30. It's a walk in, m-th from 10-2. Only took me about 45 min.

Fantastic experience: Customer service is great here!! Got my dog fixed 2 weeks ago. She stopped eating for 2 days after surgery and seemed depressed. I called them and they told me to bring her in for a check up. They gave her some nausea medicine. I guess she was just nauseous and afraid to eat. They gave me a bland food can and more medicine. My dog was her happy-self again after a couple of hours. Surgery came out fine and happy that this place exists!!

Positive experience: I really appreciate Critters Without Litters for their contribution to humane methods of controlling the feral cat population. Without their Community Cat program, I don’t know how I would have TNRed the 20+ cats I’ve caught from my neighborhood. I would rate them five stars, but I think there’s room for improvement in the organization of the Community Cat program intake; when I started using this program for the first time, I didn’t know that the regulars already had an informal system of “saving their spots” as they arrive. It’s possible to make the experience more clear and efficient for the benefit of the staff and the clients. Critters Without Litters, if you read this, I’d love to volunteer my skills in graphic design to help communicate the program even better. (-:

Negative experience: I found a cat that needed to be spayed today as her life depends on it. The staff turned us away simple because the list was full. You would think they would make an exception for a life threatening emergency. Makes me sick to my stomach how they so easily said sorry list is full. Next! I thought they helped animals. I was way wrong! Such a sad day for an innocent cat that so needs help.

Fantastic experience: Critters without litters is absolutely wonderful! I am so thankful I booked them to fix my Archie. They did a great job on his neutering and hernia repair. What they do for our community is so appreciated! They have their system down from the second their doors open. The whole check in process happened very smoothly. Vivanne checked me in and out at the front desk and was super friendly! My little guy was pretty loopy after surgery and just wanted to sleep but I was thankful he could rest. Next day he was back to normal like nothing ever happened! They also called me to check on him the next day which was so heartwarming. I will forever be grateful to find this place and always get my pets neutered/spayed here. I encourage everyone to donate to such a great business like Critters without litters!

Fantastic experience: Long wait outside for morning vaccine clinic but they were efficient, kind, and helpful. There are separate lines for cats and dogs. Once inside, vet techs and reception are thorough, efficient, kind to humans and animals, and informative. My adult male rescue cat was out after a few hours and the neutering job was clean and healed perfectly without a cone. Prices are very affordable too.

Fantastic experience: I go here for the price. I was there longer than usual, only one person checking in and one person bringing the animal in for their vaccination. I'm not sure why it was changed from two people to one...but I will continue to use this service.

Fantastic experience: I hadn't been back in a couple years, I guess more people are going there for services for their pets, it seems like they're a lot more organized to cater to the large crowd, they were very organized before but now there's barriers that guide you through the process so it makes it easier for the pit owner and the nice people working behind the counter, it was a very good experience you can ask them questions and they are more than happy to answer the questions for you.

Fantastic experience: This place is wonderful. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable, and the spay/neuter services are incredibly affordable. They also do vaccine clinics, which I highly recommend. The line may look long but it goes by pretty fast; the staff know exactly what they're doing and work like a well-oiled machine. Plus, they seem to genuinely love animals. One of the staff members hurt her knee helping to capture a runaway kitty. In sum: great place, happy to support them.

Fantastic experience: I have spade and neutered my dogs and cats at this place. They are fast ( you pick up pet same day of surgery), prices are good $50-60, they do a great job, provide pain management for the post recovery and appointments are available to get your pet in within a week or so. They offer additional services-flea removal, nail clipping or immunizations, for good prices. ❣️

Negative experience: I was there today for the second day in a row, waited for over 3 hours just for them to not take my kitten because the trap was slightly too big even though they do not say or have it listed ANYWHERE that there is a maximum requirement that cannot be exceeded, they ONLY have a minimum requirement listed. they wouldn’t do anything to help or accommodate, i tried to see if i could pay for one of their traps but they said they don’t do rentals during the day which i understand but if they had informed everyone and had it listed that there is a maximum requirement then i wouldn’t have had to even be in this situation. i asked if i could get a voucher that they have for the $20 spay/neuter for kittens and puppies since the feral kitten i was going to get fixed is young and would qualify but all i got in return was attitude. i even asked if i could just hold the kitten because they said the trap was too big for their equipment to sedate him and the kitten has grown to really trust me. the trap really was not much larger than the recommended size and i don’t see how it being larger is an issue for equipment, i could understand if the trap was too small. they should really change it on their website and include that there is a maximum requirement as well so other people don’t have to wait in the cold and dark for 3 hours with a tiny kitten in a trap just to be turned away for their mistake.

Positive experience: Got there right at the end of the day...almost didn't make it. It was very hot but they had misters for those waiting to get their dogs signed up. That helped a lot. I think they could make a little money by adding a couple of vending machines for people stuck in line. Js Over all impression was very good. Sign in line moved along pretty quickly. And after signing in and paying your fee the wait is about 25-30 min. But they all seemed very professional and the area was pretty clean. I would recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: Amazing! Just took my two cats to get neutered and they were very helpful and understanding. When I went back in because I had some concerns regarding the healing of the incision, a veterinarian came out straight away to talk to me and address my concerns. I really appreciated that :)

Fantastic experience: One of the cheapest place to get your pets vaccinated. Sometimes there is long lines but its well worth the wait

Positive experience: I really liked these people. Way cheaper than my vet, which explains the crowds. They say drop off starts at 7. Get there earlier if you don't want to/can't be there at least an hour. They say pick up no later than 4:30. Again get there earlier. Although pickups are way faster than drop offs. They have a list of stuff they need donated. Infant socks being one. If you have had a baby and don't know what to do with all the leftover socks, now you've got a place to take them.
