Fantastic experience: Indy vet treated us and our puppy with extreme care and love. They gave us great advice. While the Vet was sometimes hard to understand, he was exceptionally kind. What was uncomfortable - I felt like I was being held captive until our bill was paid. It was an odd thing. Our puppy was away from us until we paid up.

Amy, thank you for sharing your experience and for trusting us with Mei’s care! We’re very glad to hear that you felt your puppy was treated with kindness and that our team was able to provide helpful advice during your visit.

We also appreciate your feedback about the discharge process. Our goal is always to make sure everything related to a pet’s care and paperwork is completed before they go home, but we’re sorry if this process felt uncomfortable. That was certainly not our intention. Your comments are helpful and will be shared with our team as we continue working to improve the client experience.

Please give Mei some extra love from all of us!

Fantastic experience: Everyone at IndyVet was so compassionate, respectful, & knowledgeable. Taylor Thompson was outstanding at getting our little Mini Schnauzer broken bones aligned & in the splint. Winston did great. If ever need emergency vet again , we will definitely going back to IndyVet

Positive experience: My boy got really sick on 03/02/26. When he started bloody diarrhea I brought him here.. Everyone was pleasant. I trust the care he received. The only issue I had was the wait. Yes I understand they take patients in order of situation. My dog was dehydrated and couldn’t keep anything down. We spent 7 hours here. I think they should have more doctors/ staff. They also were not very good about updating me or giving any timelines. I’m not sure I will go here in the future if he has another attack. I appreciate the care but my little dog needed care too in a timely manner.

Sallie, thank you for sharing your experience and for trusting us with Chilli’s care. We know how scary it is when your pet is sick, and we’re glad to hear you felt confident in the care he received.

We’re very sorry for the long wait and for the lack of updates during your visit. Emergency hospitals do triage patients based on the severity of their condition, but we understand how difficult long waits can be when your pet isn’t feeling well. Your feedback about communication and wait times is important and will be shared with our team. We hope Chilli is feeling much better now, and we appreciate you bringing him in when he needed care. If you would ever like to discuss your visit further, our team would welcome the opportunity to speak with you. Please email us at [email protected] if you would like and we can reach back out to you directly.

Negative experience: I was quoted $9k before the vet even touched my dog didn’t even do X-rays before making the quote. My niece is a vet in Alabama I contacted her she told them a cheaper just a good fix and they wouldn’t even consider it. This place is focused on one thing and that’s money! I went to Med Vet and they were fantastic and actually did the repair needed for $5k

Fantastic experience: I took my cat Adam to see Dr Summers for elevated lab tests & to have an ultrasound. She is an excellent vet who answered all my questions & was very thorough in her explanation of his condition. Her & the vet tech were very compassionate & caring. I highly recommend them. I am confident in their care of my baby. Adam also had an Endoscopy & is doing well after the procedure.

Fantastic experience: The week I spent in and out of IndyVet was one of the worst weeks of my life and while I wish it had never happened, I am glad it was with IndyVet. The team was patient, kind, and understanding, even when I was a mess. They provided regular, timely updates and made me feel secure that my dogs were getting the best possible care. When I visited, the staff was warm and compassionate. And even after I got to bring my dogs home, they were available for follow up questions and guidance. Thank you to the IndyVet team.

Margot, thank you so much for sharing your experience and for trusting us with Lucy and Archie during such a difficult week. We’re truly sorry you and your pups had to go through that, but it means a great deal to hear that our team was able to support you when you needed it most! We know how stressful and emotional those moments can be, and our goal is always to provide not only the best possible care for our patients but also compassion and reassurance for their families. We’re glad our team’s updates, support, and follow-up were helpful while Lucy and Archie were with us.

Please give them both some extra love from all of us at IndyVet. We hope you all are settling into your new home and we wish Lucy and Archie continued comfort and good health.

Fantastic experience: We took our 13yo corgi after a seizure to IndyVet, and while we received the worst news we could imagine, everyone showed immense care for our dog Jax. Everyone was kind and calm. I hate that we had to go here for that reason, but I'm grateful the doctors and nurses and team were so great and supportive. Thank you

Taylor, thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience. We are truly heartbroken that you had to face such difficult news about Jax. Moments like that are never easy, and our entire team feels honored that you trusted us to care for him during such a vulnerable time. Jax was clearly very loved, and it was our privilege to be there for him and for you. Please know that your gratitude means the world to our doctors, nurses, and support staff. Fantastic experience: 10/10 experience. I was terrified taking my almost 14 year old cat to the vet and they made it as easy as possible. I think the doctor’s name was Sydney, she was excellent. We waited a while after they got our cat back to the room but they were really mindful about coming to let us know what was going on and how expensive everything would be. They took very good care of my baby and he’s doing well. Thank you!

Negative experience: My husband and I went in and from the moment we were there we felt buckled and dimes for everything. Nothing ever felt like there was care for our cat at all just all about the money. They made us feel backed into a corner to put our baby boy down. They also had a bill for us with “mistakes” and also were not upfront on certain charges that would be added so we had to have to bill corrected multiple times. We were so wrong to come here and to listen to them now from talking to others and we will never be here again. If I could get my baby back I would be happy. Please seek other emergency vet care.

IndyVet Emergency & Specialty Hospital

Mahaley, we are truly sorry for the loss of your beloved cat. We know how heartbreaking it is to say goodbye and we never want any family to feel unsupported or pressured during such an emotional time. Our goal is always to provide compassionate care while being transparent about medical options and costs, especially in emergency situations where decisions can feel overwhelming. We regret that your experience did not reflect that intention.

If you are open to discussing this further, then please reach out to us at [email protected]. Feedback like yours helps us improve how we support families during some of the most difficult moments they face.

We are very sorry for your loss and wish you comfort during this time.

It looked really bad at first, but turned out to be really just a minor injury everybody over there from the girl at front front to the doctor that took care of us. we’re very professional. Melissa Dye Posted on Google 2 months ago

Negative experience: We brought our 4-month-old kitten in with a 106° fever. We approved recommended charges and made multiple payments while there, totaling nearly $700 for exam and blood work. For over two hours we sat in a waiting room with no communication as to how our kitten was doing, not even once, before speaking with anyone on what was happening. He remained at the facility for almost six hours. IV fluids were approved but were not administered during our time there. Yes we agreed to pay whatever costs were associated with the fluids. The cause of the fever was listed as “unknown.” We were presented with a $3,500–$7,000 hospitalization estimate before any meaningful stabilization occurred. We were also told that if we surrendered our kitten, a rescue group could assume care. We chose to transfer him to our primary veterinarian instead. Within minutes of arrival at our regular vet, he was started on IV fluids. The true issue was identified as a ruptured ear abscess. His fever dropped, he was hospitalized over the weekend, and the total bill was $350. We understand emergency care is expensive. What we cannot accept was the lack of urgency, lack of communication, and the contrast in outcome once he was seen elsewhere. Based on our experience, we will not return and highly suggest everyone to find an alternate place for your emergency care.

IndyVet Emergency & Specialty Hospital
IndyVet Emergency & Specialty Hospital

Melissa, thank you for sharing your experience. We’re very sorry this visit felt frustrating and stressful, especially given how sick your kitten was. In emergency medicine, patients are treated based on overall hospital urgency, and diagnostics are often needed to guide treatment, but we agree that communication and updates during that process are extremely important and we’re sorry you felt those were lacking. Estimates for hospitalization are provided so families understand potential costs before proceeding. We are always supportive of transfer to a primary veterinarian if it is appropriate for the patient and family though. We’re truly glad your kitten received the care he needed and is doing better. If you’re open to it, we would welcome the chance to review your visit, please contact our management team at [email protected] so we can learn more.

Negative experience: The techs and front desk staff were very kind and helpful. The doctor that saw our pup left something to be desired. I also found it odd that there were no surgeons on duty as we were told they were all out preparing to take their Boards. We chose them based on location, I can’t say we would choose them again for care.

IndyVet Emergency & Specialty Hospital

Abigail, thank you for your feedback. We’re glad our technicians and front desk team made a positive impression, but we’re sorry the rest of your visit didn’t meet expectations. Our surgeons were temporarily out for board examination preparation, which is an important part of maintaining the highest level of specialty training and ultimately benefits the care we’re able to provide our patients! We understand this may have been frustrating and appreciate you sharing your experience. Fantastic experience: First off thank you guys and the all the people behind the scenes that I didn't get to see, for treating our Daisy like their own. Thank you for the doctor and specialist for listening to us and not just blowing us off and make us bounce to a didn't vet. thank you, guys, for taking the time to read the 4 other vets notes and looking at the pictures I had shown, thank you for actually running test to try and get to the root of the problem. And giving us that feeling everything will be okay. Proud to say Daisy is on the uphill of her illness. I am forever great full. We will defiantly be back if we ever need these services again, you guys were worth the 40-minute drive.

Amanda, thank you so much for your incredibly kind words. Reading this truly means a lot to our entire team!

We know how exhausting and emotional it can be to visit multiple hospitals without clear answers, and we’re honored that you trusted us with Daisy’s care. Most importantly though, we are thrilled to hear that Daisy is on the uphill side of her illness. That is the best update we could ask for. I will be sure to share your message with Dr. Fischer, Dr. North, the technicians, and the behind-the-scenes team who helped care for her. It truly takes a coordinated group effort, and feedback like yours reminds us why we do what we do.

Thank you for making the 40-minute drive and for placing your trust in us! We hope Daisy continues to feel better every day, and while we hope you don’t need emergency services anytime soon, we will absolutely be here if you ever do.

Fantastic experience: IndyVet quite literally saved my dog’s life. From the moment they were contacted, their team moved with urgency, compassion, and extraordinary professionalism. My dog was in acute neurologic distress, and they treated him immediately with pain control and coordinated emergency neurosurgical care without hesitation. Every staff member we encountered was kind and reassuring during an incredibly frightening night. They communicated clearly, acted decisively, and treated both my dog and our family with empathy and respect. The level of expertise and coordination was remarkable. We are beyond grateful for the care he received and for the team who worked through the night to help him. I cannot recommend IndyVet highly enough for anyone facing an emergency.

Positive experience: The experience started out great with a very helpful and knowledgeable internal medicine doctor. Receiving lab results and a treatment plan was very slow, unfortunately, the following day, going into the evening with a great deal of push for completion starting in the late afternoon until getting the script filled at the pharmacy in the early evening. It appears to me the top-notch doctor could use more support staff.

Fantastic experience: I will be honest, in the current climate I have been skeptical of IndyVet (or any emergency vets) because of a few institutions' tendencies to be a little predatory. However, I truly had a phenomenal experience with the neuro department at IndyVet. My 5 year old corgi Ruthie "went down" with IVDD during a giant snowstorm and I wasn't able to get her from Bloomington to Indianapolis until several days after she became paralyzed in her back end. We worked with Dr. Tadros and her neuro team and it was honestly an even better experience than I could say I've had with my personal doctors. Dr. Tadros was kind, clear, realistic, and exceptionally caring. Her nurses were so patient and gentle and explained Ruthie's treatment and long-term care needs to me in explicit detail. Dr. Tadros called me herself multiple times to give updates on Ruthie's condition and while I was heartbroken and terrified, I felt very much supported through the whole experience. I cannot recommend Dr. Tadros, Nurse Kelsey, and Nurse Melissa enough if your fur baby is suffering from IVDD or any sort of spinal issue. ------ IndyVet - this part is for you - I had a not-great interaction upon arrival with the lady with a brownish-gray bob and glasses at the front desk who made a really bad-taste joke about how my "credit card was going to be getting a workout" as I was checking in my paralyzed dog for emergency spinal surgery. I was honestly speechless to which she essentially responded with "she knows, that's why she doesn't have anything to say!" I found it to be a very jarring way to start my journey at IndyVet and would hope no one else has to deal with that. However, outside of my interactions with her, I had a really really great experience in the face of a really awful situation. I am very grateful, truly.

Camryn, thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and honest review, and for trusting us with Ruthie’s care during such a frightening and stressful time. We are truly grateful for your kind words about Dr. Tadros, Kelsey, and Melissa. They really are so wonderful. Hearing that you felt supported, informed, and cared for, especially under such scary circumstances, means a great deal to us. Ruthie is clearly very loved, and it was an honor to be part of her care team!

We also sincerely apologize for the interaction you described at the front desk. What you experienced is not reflective of the compassion and sensitivity we strive to provide every client, particularly during emergencies. We understand how upsetting and jarring that moment must have been, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention so we can address it internally and ensure better experiences moving forward.

Thank you again for your honesty, your trust, and your grace in sharing both the positives and the areas where we fell short. We are wishing you and Ruthie all the best in her recovery. Give her a sweet scritch from us all!

Fantastic experience: **Addition to my original review as we have needed continued care from IndyVet** I want to give a very special shout-out to Dr. Tadros, our neurologist. From the moment she became involved, she has treated Gus and us like family. She is incredibly patient, kind, and compassionate, and keeps us updated throughout the day no matter how busy her schedule is. She takes the time to send pictures, explain things clearly, answer every question, and never makes us feel rushed or dismissed. What stands out most is how deeply she truly cares. She does her own research, uses her network, and approaches Gus’s care thoughtfully and thoroughly. She has never pushed us in any direction or given up on him; she has simply walked alongside us every step of the way with honesty and heart. The only reason I can rest at all with Gus being away from us is knowing Dr. Tadros is overseeing his care, alongside the incredible IndyVet staff who continue to monitor him closely, comfort him, love him, and treat him as if he were their own. We are beyond grateful. I cannot say enough good things about IndyVet Emergency. During one of the most terrifying and heartbreaking experiences of our lives, they cared for our puppy Gus with an incredible level of compassion, patience, and expertise. From the very beginning, they made us feel truly seen, heard, and understood. Every concern mattered. Every question was answered with kindness and honesty. They went above and beyond, medically and emotionally, making an impossible situation feel manageable and supported. We will forever be grateful for the care they gave Gus and for the way they treated us as people, not just clients. IndyVet is a rare place where skill and humanity meet, and we couldn’t have asked for better hands to hold us through such a difficult time.

Haley, we could not agree more with your description of Dr. Tadros! She is one of a kind and we are so lucky to have her on the IndyVet team. We are so incredibly happy that your family and Gus were able to be connected with her. Gus is a true gem :) and we know he holds a really special place in her heart. We are honored that you continue to choose us to help care for him!

Haley, thank you so much for your kind words. We are so honored to have had the opportunity to care for Gus and are so happy that you felt heard, seen, and understood throughout it all. This is what fills our cups here, so getting to hear that we achieved this is so meaningful! We are all thinking of Gus and sending all the good vibes his way. Please give him a little kiss on the head from all of us here at IndyVet!

Fantastic experience: The staff got me and my cat into a room immediately for my appointment with Dr Bryce, an internist. I met then with a Vet tech who updated my cat’s history and current issue while my cat happily checked out the room. She then took my cat back to be examined by Dr Bryce. Dr Bryce came in to review her plan, giving me options and explaining everything thoroughly, while recognizing that I had some medical background. She patiently answered my questions, which was much appreciated. She then enacted our plan, gave me a time estimate and next steps. I wasn’t left sitting and waiting without updates and Rooney was returned to me, comfortable and happy. It was a positive experience.

Fantastic experience: Arrived at 11:30 pm - my cat had 2 seizure-like episodes prior to arrival. We were placed in a room right away and seen in order of urgency. A staff member would come in periodically to check on us. Dr was very good at listening to my concerns and what I remembered happened. They examined Mimzy, I found inner ear infection was probably cause. Put her on antibiotics and steroids with follow-up instructions. We were discharged at around 5am. 2 days later, Mimzy is showing signs of improvement. I am pleased with the efficiency and caring attitude of staff. They put me at ease right away. I was given a partial refund of my deposit, for actual services rendered. I got a follow-up email as well. I would definitely recommend them for any urgent care.

Everyone we encountered was friendly and compassionate and they took the time to answer our questions. We got frequent updates, a detailed treatment plan, and brought our baby home in good spirits. The price tag pays for quality and expertise. We want to thank everyone there for their hard work they do and we’re thankful we chose Indy Vet!!!

Negative experience: This use to be my emergency vet of choice but I will no longer go there. My young rescue kitten that received care there last week the vet was extremely adamant was only acting off because she ate narcotics. 2 days later I took her to Noah’s and she was diagnosed with FIP. That’s 2 days I needed to get the medicine to save her faster. That’s 2 days that I lost and can’t get back. She may die before the medication arrives due to having to be shipped from out of state. I really could have used those 2 days.

Naomi, thank you for sharing your feedback. We're very sorry that you and Lily are going through this. Our doctors make medical decisions using the information available at the time of presentation, including the history provided by the owner since our patients can't report their own history. When that history leads us in a certain direction, like getting into something toxic, we do the best we can to address this and get a definitive diagnosis and treatment plan. Unfortunately, that is not always possible in an emergency setting, especially when multiple conditions can look similar early on. We are glad that you were able to get her checked out after this event and find a diagnosis. We wish you and Lily the best.

Fantastic experience: I brought my 11 year old cat Rico in due to him not eating or using the litter box for over 2 days. Although I didn’t do any research on the emergency vet clinics in the area (I’m new in town) I ended up going with my first choice INDYVET! I am glad that I made the decision to do so. They understood my financial situation and gave my baby the best care. Now he’s happy, playing, and eating!! Thank you IndyVet, I am truly grateful for your kindness and support!!

Fantastic experience: .We met with Dr. James to discuss concerns about possible anal cancer in our dog, Baxter. Dr. James was very informative and clearly explained all possible outcomes, which was exactly what I needed. After the exam, Dr. James explained that there were no signs of cancer, but biopsy samples were taken for further analysis. We were told we would receive the results within 7–10 days. I’m very grateful to have Indy Vet and their wonderful staff available to reach out to when needed.

Negative experience: My visit was awful. I took my cat in because she is sick. She was examined without me in the room. I paid $185 for the visit and no results. We left with no antibiotics and she is sicker then she was before. Praying she makes it. As of Jan 12 my Sophie passed.

Laura, we’re very sorry to hear how upsetting your experience with Sophie was and understand how distressing it is when a pet is sick and not improving. We regret that you left feeling without answers or support.

Examinations are sometimes done outside the room or away from families to reduce stress or allow a more thorough assessment, and antibiotics are not always medically appropriate. However, we recognize how frustrating this can feel when expectations aren’t clearly communicated. If you would like to discuss things further, then please don't hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected] and we will reach out to you directly. We hope that Sophie is on the mend.

Negative experience: I took my pitbull in for a wound and swelling and everything was smooth checking in. We waiting in a room for 1 1/2 hours until the nurse even came in, which is fine because we were probably lower priority but no one came it to say they were busy and they would get to us when they can. We had zero contact with anyone for 1 1/2 hours. The nurse was great, quick, and very sweet. The vet came in and she was nice but was very confused with our dog’s situation. Someone had told her our dog had given birth the day prior but we had told multiple people while checking in that she was spayed so the vet didn’t know what was going on when she came in the room and so we re-explained why we were there. The vet seemed less concerned about her wound we came in for and more concerned about the dry patches on her skin. We were told they would run everything by us with the cost before doing it. We got the bill and they charged us $32 for A CONE and a cytoplasm test that we consented to but never got results from? The whole experience was slightly annoying just to find out she needed antibiotics and an anti-inflammatory. I’m grateful she got care and treatment and I get it’s at cost with a lot of other places… I’m more upset at the lack of transparency. Everyone was nice, can’t complain about that at least!

Taylor, thank you so much for taking the time to give us your feedback. We’re glad to hear that Meech received the care she needed and that our nurse and veterinarian were kind and attentive during your visit.

We do apologize for the long period without communication while you were waiting. Even when cases are lower priority, we should be keeping clients informed, and we understand how frustrating it is to feel left without updates. Regarding charges and test results, we understand your concerns about transparency. Costs should always be clearly reviewed, and results communicated, and we’re sorry that this did not happen as expected. Your feedback helps us identify where we need to improve our communication and follow-through.

We will look further into Meech's visit and follow-up with you directly regarding her visit within the next week. Thank you again for your thoughtful review.

Negative experience: 2 cats, $12,000 in fees, diagnostic test that showed they had no idea what was wrong, we say we are going to pursue a 2nd opinion...they call Animal Control on my house. Less than 24 later. We explained to the Vet on Jan 5th at around 8pm that because they could not find out what was wrong with our cats, that we would be seeking a second opinion elsewhere. 9am on Jan 6th i get a knock on my door. Animal control is there saying the Vet reported 2 of my cats at home (reminder one of them had just left their care a week earlier, and the other theyve never seen) were malnourished and abused. After the AC agent looked at our medical bills, now empty medicine bottles from the first cat, and both of my cats, he stated this was obvious a sham case and that he'd be reporting it to his superiors. If you consider your Animal not just a pet, but a member of your family, please for the love of God bring them someplace else! This hospital is interested in one thing. Your money. The Day Time Vets (not the night time, they are wonderful) are rude, seem irritated about answering questions, and will rush you into making very expensive decisions ASAP. This organization will fear mongering you into making multi thousand dollar decisions fully aware that they have no idea what is wrong with your baby. 2 of my 3 cats came down with a still unknown illness and almost 13,000 dollars later they still won't tell us. Sorry to dump all of this, but I'd never ever recommend this place to my worst enemy. Nobody deserves to have a moment of fear exploited for cash and then threatened when you exclaim you are wishing to bring them elsewhere. This organization is PREDATORY, DANGEROUS and a total cash grab. Thank you♥️

Fantastic experience: I cannot put into words how grateful I am for this team. From the moment we walked in, every staff member treated us and our cat with compassion, patience, and genuine care. While waiting, I witnessed so many families experiencing devastating losses, and through it all, the staff showed nothing but kindness, empathy, and respect to every single person who walked through the door. They made an incredibly hard environment feel safe and welcoming. They listened to my fears, explained everything clearly, and took such good care of my boy. Negative experience: I would not recommend this practice based on my experience. Thompson told me my cat was a “ticking time bomb” and pushed euthanasia over treatment (since, she could go home, but would definitely have to come back within days)— which was communicated in an insensitive way. On top of that, a staff member repeatedly came into the room throughout the night to have us sign bills at different times. It felt transactional and inappropriate during an already distressing situation. I can’t, in good conscience, bring another animal here or recommend this clinic to others.

IndyVet Emergency & Specialty Hospital
IndyVet Emergency & Specialty Hospital

Lauren, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re truly sorry that your visit with us was distressing, especially during such an emotional and difficult time with Nala. We know how special she was to your family and are so very sorry for your loss.

Our goal is always to communicate medical concerns with clarity, compassion, and respect, and we regret that our discussion came across as insensitive or alarming. Conversations around serious diagnoses and end-of-life options are never easy, and we understand how important it is that they are handled with empathy and care. It is clear that we did not meet this expectation in your case and we are very sorry for that. We also apologize for how billing was handled during your overnight visit. We recognize that repeated interruptions to discuss paperwork can feel transactional and inappropriate in moments of emotional strain. This is not the experience we want for our clients, and we will be reviewing our processes with our team to prevent this from happening again.

While we cannot change what you experienced, we appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention so we can learn from them and do better. We are again so sorry for your loss and are thinking of you all during this difficult time.

Jasmine Roosa Posted on Google 3 months ago

Negative experience: I am submitting this formal complaint regarding the care provided to my cat, Pi, during our visit to the Indianapolis ER Veterinary Hospital on 12/29/25, beginning at approximately 2:00 PM and concluding after 8:00 PM. Pi presented with acute and concerning symptoms, including chronic diarrhea, vomiting, lethargy, and urination consisting of visible blood. She has experienced this exact clinical presentation previously and was ultimately diagnosed with a chronic E. coli infection requiring six months of antibiotic treatment under the care of her primary veterinarian and veterinary specialists. I clearly communicated this medical history, prior diagnostic findings, and previous treatment outcomes to the attending clinician during the visit. Despite providing this information, I did not feel that Pi’s medical history was meaningfully considered in the diagnostic or treatment process. I felt that my observations and historical knowledge as Pi’s owner and caregiver were dismissed or minimized, despite being clinically relevant and directly tied to her current presentation. The veterinarian introduced herself as an emergency veterinarian. However, subsequent independent verification revealed that she is a rotating intern who graduated from veterinary school in the current year. At no point was it disclosed that she was an intern, nor that Pi’s care was being supervised by a licensed attending veterinarian. This omission is particularly concerning in an emergency medical context and raises issues regarding transparency, informed consent, and reasonable expectations of provider qualifications. There were also material inconsistencies and a lack of clarity surrounding Pi’s urine sample and associated diagnostic testing. I personally collected and submitted approximately 7 to 8 mL of urine. I was initially told that only a “tiny amount” had been submitted and that testing had already been completed. After questioning this statement, the clinician left the room and returned stating that the test had only then been run and that the prior attempt had failed due to a machine malfunction. This sequence of events was not clearly explained and undermined confidence in the diagnostic process. Furthermore, I was first informed that no bacteria was present in Pi’s urine and was later told that “suspected bacteria” had been identified. This change in information was not adequately reconciled or explained. Additionally, I was initially told that if bacteria were present, a urine culture would be necessary. Later, I was told that a culture was optional and entirely at my discretion. These conflicting statements regarding diagnostics and standard of care created confusion and uncertainty regarding the appropriateness of the treatment plan. I have incurred and continue to incur substantial financial expense for Pi’s care because she is a valued family member and I am committed to ensuring she receives appropriate medical treatment. However, the level of communication, consistency, transparency, and clinical confidence provided during this visit did not reflect the professional standards reasonably expected from an emergency veterinary hospital. My concerns can be summarized as follows: 1. Failure to meaningfully incorporate relevant prior medical history into clinical decision-making 2. Lack of transparency regarding clinician credentials and supervision 3. Inconsistent and contradictory diagnostic information 4. Inadequate explanation of diagnostic standards and treatment recommendations 5. Resulting loss of confidence in the quality and reliability of care provided I am requesting that this complaint be formally reviewed by hospital leadership and that appropriate corrective measures be taken to ensure transparency, consistency, and adherence to professional standards in future patient care. I also request written confirmation that this complaint has been received and reviewed. This complaint is submitted in good faith with the intent of improving patient care and protecting future clients from similar experiences.

Fantastic experience: IndyVet is a wonderful emergency hospital full of dedicated and hard-working individuals. I’ve had to run my French Bulldog from Bloomington to IndyVet twice for hospital stays. Fantastic experience: Let’s just get it out of the way, emergency vets are expensive. My healthy 16 yr old cat had her first asthma attack on Christmas Eve late at night. All the staff were sympathetic to us being there in an emergency and showed empathy for it happening on a holiday. I appreciate they were upfront with pricing and willing to explain what the sums are used to pay. They gave us options to speak with the vet first or pay outright. We chose to pay outright to get the ball rolling to help get treatments and tests started. The staff allowed me to visit with my little girl before we left. She spent 12+ hrs getting breathing treatments and in an oxygen chamber. They asked if I wanted to pet her and opened the window so I could comfort her. The vet called with updates on how my girl was doing. We were able to pick her up on Christmas Day. The vet tech went over all the discharge instructions very thoroughly. My first experience with this ER vet was when my daughter’s dog spontaneously ruptured her discs in the spine while playing. She was in severe pain and paralyzed. The vet was kind at explaining treatment options and quality of life moving forward. They helped our dog get comfortable but sadly our girl did not having a good prognosis. The vet/staff gave our girl a respectful and most importantly a peaceful goodbye. I would highly recommend this emergency vet. Just like any human doctor or hospital visit; ask questions. Get clarification if you don’t understand. And yes, you will be waiting for test results just like a human ER.

Sarah, thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. We know how frightening it is to see a beloved pet struggling to breathe, especially on a holiday when your family vet is not available. We hope she is continuing to rest and breathe comfortably at home! Give her some extra pets from us! Thank you again for trusting us with her care.

Negative experience: I would give them no stars realistically, they did not communicate properly nor did they have any urgency in the state of my dog and in the end I made the decision to have him put down. We called multiple times on the day they said we would have the results and the only response we got was “the surgery team is in surgery and they willcc BBCall you back” we never got a call back, the next day which was a Saturday they said the surgery team is not in until Monday. I guess I don’t understand why we need a surgery team to find out if test results are in, it seems incompetent and a simple task any person should be able to figure out. Anyway I still don’t know if putting our dog down was the right decision but they never got us our biopsy results or any beneficial form of treatment and our dog was not doing well and declined rather quickly. So we decided we didn’t want him to suffer and going to a new hospital at this point was too late. All in all they got their money and then we didn’t get anything in return other than the loss of a pet. I would recommend MedVet if you want proper medical treatment for your pet, after talking to a friend they said a similar thing happened at IndyVet and they suggested if anything like this were to happen with any other pets to bring them to MedVet.

Grace, thank you for sharing your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear about the loss of Slim and understand how painful and overwhelming this experience must have been for you and your family. We are very sorry that you felt communication regarding Slim’s test results and care did not meet your expectations. Clear and timely communication is extremely important to us, but we can only communicate results when they become available from the lab. We understand that waiting is the hardest part and things can change in that process though. We again extend our sincere condolences for your loss of Slim.

Fantastic experience: IndyVet did an amazing job with emergency surgery for our 13 year old doggo, Tucker. He came in with a mucocele in his gallbladder, and Dr Kloft went over literally everything with us, including talking to us in person for over an hour going over potential outcomes (good and bad) and let my wife and I make the best possible decision. He was in surgery for what felt like forever, but when we got the call from Dr Kloft that everything went well, it was a relief! At his 10 day check at his regular vet back in Fort Wayne, the surgery site is healing amazingly, and he is back to his old goofball self. The 4 week recovery is much harder on us with telling Tucker "no, you can't do that" than I think it is on him. We are now 2 weeks in and you wouldn't know he had pretty significant surgery by the way he acts now. The entire staff here is wonderful. Front desk staff on check in were very friendly, the nurses and techs who checked in on him while waiting for admission were great, Dr Fisher who did his admission was very friendly as well. If you have an emergency and your pet needs surgery, definitely come here.

We’re absolutely thrilled to know that Tucker is healing well and already getting back to his fun-loving self! I’d also like to shoutout the blood donation team. This is an amazing service and the ladies are incredible and so understanding of my crazy and ever changing schedule. I received a follow-up call to see how things were going. There is nothing negative I can say. I appreciate everyone there.

Positive experience: Our kitten received great care, though we felt the vet was a bit judgemental about our financial situation despite paying nearly $600. Lo, the receptionist who checked us in and helped us get a correct invoice for the treatment options we wanted to go with, was absolutely amazing, kind & personable and really helped ease the anxiety of the night.

Ryan, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad to hear that Solar received quality care and that Lo was able to support you during what we know can be a stressful visit. We will be sure to pass along your kind words to her!

We are sorry that you felt judged during your experience. That is certainly never our intention. We aim to provide clear medical information and treatment options while being respectful and supportive of every client’s circumstances. Your comments will be shared with our team so we can continue improving the way we communicate. Thank you again!

Fantastic experience: Our little Eli (8 yr old daschund) had to have emergency surgery for a herniated disc recently…we couldn’t have asked for a more caring, competent & personable surgeon than Samantha Tadros DVM Neurology & the techs that work with her. We highly recommend them & Indy Vet.

Sherry, thank you so very much for trusting us with Eli's care. Dr. Tadros and the neuro team will be incredibly touched to hear your kind words! Wishing him continued healing and many comfortable, happy days ahead :)

Positive experience: I have a senior dog that has had the same issue before. I call the ER before. I explained to them what she was doing, and I was 100%.Sure , it was exactly what happened to her a couple years ago. She had the onset of pneumonia and just needed some antibiotics , and I was out of town. I walk in holding her to which she's panting heavily , because she is a pug , and that's what she does when she has trouble breathing with her pneumonia. The lady came out , took her out of my arms, the girl. The front desk ask what level , and she said , level 8. The young girl at desk said that will be 800 dollar deposit! I was shocked and we'll was at their mercy. Took us to a private room and came back within 5 minutes and said\nIt was going to be an additional 144 dollars. I just stared at her , like I seen it alien and said , okay! Then the vet came in very nice young lady and said her oxygen levels were perfect , her blood work shows nothing and her x rays do show some gas in her stomach , probably from breathing heavily and a little white along the lungs..... Yes pneumonia. She suggested that we keep mercedes there overnight for observation to which I declined. I don't mind paying for a service, but paying a 1031.00 dollars just to be given some antibiotics , and we were only there for less than an hour is just highway robbery. And I get that's what they're in the business for but for an average person to be able to afford an emergency with their animal , it's just sad. Everything was amazing with the facility.I just think for no longer that we were there and to pay that much money was a bit high.

Negative experience: The people at this veterinary clinic took 300 dollars from my mother and wife yesterday and sent him home with a slipped disc that was going to only allow him to destroy his back even more, just to then charge us almost 500 dollars again two hours later to put him to rest. Their staff has also been trained to immediately cop a snotty attitude with people that have just had their pets put down. They also flat out lied to me on the phone about their prices. Making a living playing off of human emotions ought to embarrass everyone that’s a part of this “business”. Do NOT take ur pets here!!!!

IndyVet Emergency & Specialty Hospital
IndyVet Emergency & Specialty Hospital

Sam, we are truly sorry for the loss of your dog, Donald Trump, and for the pain your family is experiencing. Losing a companion is devastating, and we understand how intense emotions can be during and after such a difficult situation.

We want to clarify that our medical team’s priority is always to provide an honest assessment, discuss options, and support families as they decide what is best for their pet based on the information available at the time. Regarding costs, estimates are reviewed with owners before services are provided, and charges reflect the care delivered at each visit. We would never intentionally misrepresent pricing, nor do we train our staff to treat grieving families with anything other than compassion and respect. That said, we take concerns about communication and demeanor very seriously.

We would welcome the opportunity to review this visit in detail and speak with you directly, as these matters are best addressed privately and with full context. Please reach out to our administration team at [email protected] if you are willing to do so.

Fantastic experience: Recently needed to take my dog there for an ER visit and could not be more impressed with the entire team! From the front door to the Vet we saw, every person was kind, comforting, and knowledgeable of any question I had. I have taken my dog to IndyVet for blood donation since she was 1 year old, and so when it came to emergency services I already knew where to go. Every member of the team at IndyVet is amazing and made the scary experience of needing the ER more relaxed because of their attention to detail and hospitality! Could not recommend a better place to care for fur babies!

Thank you so much for sharing your kind words, Victoria. We’re truly honored that you trust IndyVet not only for emergency care for Char, but also for her blood donations over the years! We can't thank our heroes and their families enough, so providing this care is the least we could do! We’re grateful to hear that our doctors and staff were able to provide comfort, clear answers, and compassionate care from the moment you walked through our doors. That is the goal we strive for always! Please give Char some extra love from all of us!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely wonderful with our Luke. He is a Cane and it is hard to get Vets to see him because of his breed and even harder to be kind to him. My boys are both Cane Corso’s They are very well trained especially when I am present. They said he was resistant when I wasn’t with him in the back and asked me to muzzle my own boy. Muzzling him was hard for me but only because it breaks their spirit a bit however my boys have had muzzles on them before as puppies so they know what they are and that they won’t hurt them As part of their training it is my job to make sure if for any reason I am not around, I am sick and unconscious ems has to come into my home and they have to be muzzled for safety they know what it is and they won’t hurt anyone or themselves trying to get it off. It is all about setting my boys up for success. All I ever ask is that humans know well trained Corso’s are not a threat. They are big their barks are loud. Just because they bark doesn’t mean they are aggressive It is an alert which is what they do it is instinct for them to do. Thank you to everyone that helped us there even to the nice lady in the waiting room that wanted to pet him and wasn’t scared when he approached her seeking out comfort in a strange place. I won’t hesitate to go back if need be. Hopefully you mark his chart as non aggressive so no one else treats him unkind. He is such a lover. I called for months in Bloomington IN for a vet that would see my boys. He is only in on thursdays you can only imagine how hard it is to see our vet. I just SMH. I feel like us good guys pay the price for the bad ones and it isn’t fair. Thanks so much. He is healing and we are thankful.

Tanja, thank you so much for taking the time to share this thoughtful review and for trusting us with Luke’s care. We’re truly glad to hear that he is healing and that you felt supported by our team during your visit. Our team’s priority is always the safety and comfort of both patients and staff, and we’re grateful for your understanding and cooperation when a muzzle was recommended in the treatment area. Muzzles are never a judgment of temperament, but rather a safety tool in unfamiliar, stressful environments. We appreciate how thoughtfully you explained that to Luke and to us :). Thank you again for your trust, your kind words about our team and fellow clients, and for being such a strong advocate for your dogs. We’re always here if you need us and wish Luke continued healing and good health.

Negative experience: I'm really not happy with this place. My cat licked up some pasta sauce from a bowl in the sink and it had garlic. Needless to say he got sick, was vomiting, and had diarrhea and was very lethargic. Not himself at all, and when he was still vomiting almost 4 hours after he ingested the garlic I took him to indy vet. The initial visit was fine other than it took 4 hours just to get some blood work done. When he went back for his check up, I never got to speak with a doctor, and someone botched his labs. For his final check up, this is where things got confusing real fast. I was told my cat was going to have to stay overnight even though he had no clinical signs of anemia from the ingestion of the garlic, then i was told he might possibly need a blood transfusion which was going to cost almost 4k, which they wanted me to pay upfront before i left that night. However, the next day the doctor on duty called and said that someone probably messed up the blood work from the first check up because the numbers didn't make any sense at all to just ignore this number. Next she said that my cat shouldn't have stayed overnight because there was no clinical reason for him to stay and that the other doctor never should have mentioned a blood transfusion at all. I felt like they were trying to get me to pay for things that weren't necessary and they took advantage of how much I was willing to do anything to keep my cat from being ill or possibly dying. The billing people were not willing to reduce some of the cost since the overnight stay wasn't necessary. I just felt manipulated and taken advantage of and that should never happen when your trying to care for a loved one.

Hi Susanne, we are sorry to hear about your experience. We are especially sorry that you felt manipulated or taken advantage of. That is never our intention. Fantastic experience: We brought in my cat in the middle of the night after she showed some concerning symptoms. Every single person I spoke to was knowledgeable and incredibly empathetic from the moment we entered. We were made to feel as comfortable as possible with the given situation, and the information was very well explained. Dr. Fischer was very patient and knowledgeable, and we left feeling good about the decision we made with a cat who was feeling much better. The drive from Bloomington was 100% worth it.

Negative experience: Well where do I start , they are the friendliest people I've ever met at a vet, but then they basically told me there was nothing they could do for my dog (Prince) because he has a tumor on his brain or he has had a stroke and any surgery would kill him, and they advised me to let them euthanize him right then and there because he would only get worse and die in pain because he was not eating or drinking , that was the 25th .My 11 year old son was with me and we were both crying our eyes out so I called his mother she told me no to bring our dog home so she could say goodbye first. The doctor was not happy about this and even had me sign a paper I was going against her advice. Well anyway it's the 27th at 5:30 pm and my dog is eating and drinking water he is moving around slowly but is using the restroom and even tried to chase a squirrel. And on top of all that they charged me 548.00 to look at him, give him pain medicine to make him comfortable and to tell me all that . Sorry but no I would not recommend these people , I would tell you the vets name but I looked on the paper work and she isn't on it anywhere. Update 12 08 2025 prince is still alive and strong, this place should be ashamed of there money hungry BS company.

Fantastic experience: Kind of a long review. Our husky was diagnosed with a mast cell tumor by another vet. We chose to come here for a second opinion due to the other vets treatment of our dog. Dr. Heather Kloft and her her team here at Indyvet did exceptional with him. While our previous vet (and assistants) acted terrified of him (even though he has never bitten anyone), Indyvet had zero issues with him and gave him the treatment he needed. They kept us notified on literally everything they did and explained all of it in detail. The mast cell tumor was removed without incident and the follow up appointment was great. The removal area didn't even get red during recovery! Speaking from someone who has been to other vets, Dr. Kloft was worth the 1 1/2 hour drive and her assistant Dani handled our dog just fine on her own with no issues and kept him calm. We needed meds for him midway through recovery and they overnighted it to us. I recommend this place to everyone. Five stars for all of you! Great job!

Fantastic experience: We did not have a very good experience on our last visit, and I was not to excited about returning when our 6-month old Chocolate Lab developed an issue with his eyes. Despite my misgivings, Indyvet did an amazing job to compassionately and rapidly address and treat the issue - an for what I thought was a reasonable charge. Negative experience: Felt very pressured to do MRI’s, X-Rays, Hospitalization. Our cat became ill at 8pm and the issue seemed to resolve. At 1am the issue returned with a vengeance, drooling, shaking. Vet was agitated why we waited so long. It was the morning before Thanksgiving, Wednesday, 1:30 am. Our regular vet was closed. He immediately walked through the door asking us why we waited until now to bring him in. We live about an hour away as well, the beginning of the visit already made us feel absolutely horrible. Our daughter is autistic. She is 21 years old and was an absolute wreck. She was asking questions and she asked a question he vaguely answered and he raised his voice angrily repeating the answer like we were children. He left the room and she burst into tears. It was a terrible experience. The staff was wonderful. The doctor was not. We own our own business and would never treat our customers this way.

Negative experience: Guess our dog doesn't matter. We've been here for 3 hours after being told to wait 8 minutes. Pretty sure they forgot we were here. Edit: they were really quick to charge us up front so it's either go somewhere else and be out $250, let the dog that is clearly very uncomfortable suffer, or continue to wait.

Negative experience: Friday night my daughter and I brought her cat here as she had been advised by staff over the phone to rush him in. They took him back to "stabilize" him and put us in a room to wait. And wait.....and wait......and wait some more. Finally, after an hour or so, a vet tech appears and plops him in the carrier onto the table and leaves. NO EXPLANATIONS. NO UPDATE. NO INFO. NOTHING pertaining to how they "stabilized" him nor his condition. We asked if he had a fever......she said she had no idea that a vet would talk to us later on. So again, we waited......and waited.....and waited longer. Our poor guy was suffering and we were on edge from the horribly extensive wait time and lack of good customer care. After another hour or so, finally a "Dr Thompson" comes in. She wasn't the most pleasant, her bedside manner was totally lacking, but we looked over that part in hopes that at least she might still be a good doctor and give our precious boy some relief from his pain. We were wrong. She mechanically reported a type of "script" to us offering all sorts of high-priced options totally out of league with most pet owner's budgets, then emphasizing a diagnosis of cancer and stressed euthanasia as the ultimate "cure" for his issue. Mind you, how she determined that diagnosis right off the cuff without any testing is questionable at best and ethically wrong at worst. Perhaps she prefers dogs over cats? We DECLINED euthanasia and suggested step therapy of medications instead. Pretty bad when the patient has to tell the doctor how to treat the illness! We are happy to report our boy is doing great and feeling much better. The price of the bill was high, but the price of the DRAMA, HORRIBLE WAIT TIME, BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND DRONE-LIKE CORPORATE UPSELLING cost us a lot too because it added extra stress we didn't need on top of worrying about a beloved pet who was sick. We totally realize this is an emergency center and prices will be higher than a normal vet's office and patients are triaged according to their needs so you may have to wait for your precious pet to be taken care of. This was not really a busy time so the extended, lengthy wait time was not warranted and at the very least someone should have popped in every hour or so and at least told us they didn't forget about us. Nobody except the front desk clerks seemed to care about our precious boy nor us. The "professional" staff couldn't give a toss. Also, mainly and most importantly, reputable vets know there are many other options available to treat sick animals besides upselling extravagantly-priced procedures that create more undue stress on sick pets or simply promoting euthanasia. Attentive vet care and basic step-therapy has been replaced by corporate up-selling apparently. We disagree with this philosophy most strongly and will not bring out pet back nor would we recommend this place to other pet owners until they get their business model and mission changed. PETS FIRST NOT CORPORATE PROFITEERING.

Negative experience: I wanted to give them a benefit of a doubt. I had brought my 13 year old Ginger Cat in back in September, they treated him with antibiotics, eye drops, and an antihistamine. He got better in a matter of days, jump to the 19th. I had to bring him back, they put him on liquid antibiotics and liquid steroids, showed improvement till 11/21/2025. Brought him back because he had blood pouring from his nose. They say he's stable, we wait for what feels like forever, vet comes in and says it's an aggressive form of cancer, tries to pressure me into putting him to sleep on the spot and then says he has probably two weeks left to live. Makes me sign a waver when I reject euthanizing him. I could understand if he was losing ton's of weight and no longer active but that is not the case with him. He's acting perfectly normal outside of wheezing and having the nose bleed yesterday. When he was a kitten he had a bad episode of Feline Herpes that presented exactly like this. Only the left side of the face, swelling only on the left side, eye closed on left side, lymph nodes swollen on left side, bloody nose on left side. So of course, I believe this is just a very severe episode of that and that he has a lot of sinus pressure making his nose bleed ( Like what happens to me when I have sinus infections.) I will point out they diagnosed this deadly form of cancer by simply looking at him. No tests, no scans, just a glance and then drop the bomb on me that my cat is dying and then making me feel like the worst human alive for not wanting to euthanize him. I love my cat, more than anything in this world and I will do anything for him, but I felt like because I am low income, without a lot of money that they felt like I should just put my cat to sleep rather than try to treat him. I am devastated, I am still crying even though my cat is acting perfectly normal today now I have this shadow looming. Today he has greenish yellow discharge from the nose, and is already looking better. Dr. Thompson would not listen to me when I explained he had these same symptoms as a baby, she demanded I put him to sleep, and fear mongered me. I’m still emotionally traumatized from it. I wish I had read the negative reviews. Trying to get me to kill my beloved cat…disgraceful.

Joshua, thank you for sharing your experience. We’re truly sorry this visit felt so upsetting during an already emotional time. It’s clear how much you love Tobias, and no one wants you to feel unheard.

After reviewing the case, it’s also clear that Dr. Thompson did not demand euthanasia. She communicated her concerns, recommended testing, and explained the possible outcomes, including the chance of improvement as well as more serious possibilities. She respected your decision and supported the treatment plan you ultimately chose.

We’re very sorry that the conversation left you feeling pressured. That was not the intention. Our goal is to provide all information so families can make the decisions that feel right for them.

Positive experience: I brought my dog in about a month ago for an emergency neurosurgery, and I’m incredibly grateful for the care she received. The neurologist and the entire team were compassionate, thorough, and great at communicating what was happening, what to expect, and how to manage her aftercare. They were flexible with pickup timing and made sure we had clear instructions. Thanks to their skill and urgency, my dog had an excellent outcome, and we’re beyond thankful. I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 for two reasons and I debated lower: 1. No payment plan options. For an emergency situation that can cost thousands of dollars, it was surprising that no financing or payment plan options were available, except carecredit. I understand the challenges veterinary clinics face with collecting payments, but many places partner with third-party services or offer structured options that help clients manage unexpected emergencies. They generally expect full payment upfront, which could cost a pet their life because many people don’t have thousands in cash ready. It takes time to move things around and in an emergency situation you don’t have that time. 2. How my follow-up concern was handled. A couple of days after the surgery, I called because my dog was throwing up and wasn’t eating. I was first transferred to the call center, then to the front desk, and had to repeat the situation. I explained to both people that my dog had just had surgery there and what was happening. Despite her just having had surgery there, I was told, “We can’t diagnose over the phone, she’ll need to be seen,” and was immediately given the appointment cost and walk-in policy. It felt dismissive, especially after spending nearly $10k just days prior, and after being told her follow-up check was included in the costs. We were also instructed to avoid unnecessary car rides because any sudden movement could risk reinjury. Thankfully, the neurology vet tech reached out for a scheduled follow-up call and was able to address everything without us needing to bring her in. Overall, I’m truly appreciative of the medical team and the outcome of the surgery, they saved my dog’s life. I just hope the clinic considers clearer communication and more supportive options for clients navigating high-stress emergencies.

They will be thrilled to know their efforts made such a positive difference!

We also sincerely appreciate your thoughtful feedback. We understand how overwhelming emergency veterinary costs can be, especially when decisions need to be made immediately. We currently partner with CareCredit, Scratchpay, and some pet insurance companies as well to help to provide more payment flexibility, but recognize that this may not be accessible or ideal for everyone. Your feedback reinforces an ongoing discussion within our leadership team about how to continue to remove barriers to care in situations like Riley's.

We’re very sorry that your follow-up call made you feel dismissed, especially so soon after surgery and during a stressful moment. You should never have felt like just another case or that your concerns weren’t being heard. While we’re glad our neurology team was ultimately able to support you without requiring a visit, the initial process clearly caused unnecessary frustration. We’re reviewing this scenario with our team to improve communication in the future. If there’s anything more we can do, or if you have additional suggestions, please don’t hesitate to reach out directly to [email protected] and I will follow-up personally.

Negative experience: One of the first things that came out of the doctor's mouth was to put our dog down. The "complete exam" was not at all complete. After getting our dog home, we found a lump on his spine. The doctor did not find it, although it was what was causing the problem. The only people that seemed to care were the ones at the front desk. This place is a joke and not a funny one.

Hi Geri, we are so sorry that your experience with Apollo was not up to par. This is not the experience we strive to provide for our clients and patients. I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you personally to follow-up on the situation if you are open to this as our goal is to always be improving. Please contact us directly at [email protected] if you are open to talking further and I will reach out personally.

Fantastic experience: I have thankfully only had a handful of times that I have ever had to bring a pet to this hospital, but every single time, my animals and I have received the best care. Most recently, I brought my dog in after she ate a whole box of Raisin Bran (raisins being highly toxic to dogs). My dog spent 3ish days in hospital, and Dr. Roman and her team were incredibly communicative and kind every time I called to check in, or texted their secure chat space. I was so impressed with the communication, and genuinelt touched by how kind everyone was. I never felt rushed or dismissed, and genuinely felt like I could ask all of my questions and get clear and honest responses. I appreciate all the work these folks do!

Thank you so much for your kind words, Elizabeth. It was a pleasure to take care of Zoya! We are honored to be part of the team to help her through her Raisin Bran fiasco. Thank you for trusting us with your baby.

Fantastic experience: We had to put our pitbull down last night after a year long battle with epilepsy. She got to the point where I was afraid she would pass as home in pain and I didn't want her to suffer so I brought her to Indy Vet with no money or plan on what to do. The staff was incredibly kind and understanding. We were not treated any differently even though we had no funds and the vet was so compassionate. We saw Dr. Weiland and she went slow at our pace and stayed with us while we finished saying goodbye. It was a really great experience and I am so grateful for what they do there. I will bring my pets back for anything else they need emergency wise. Thank you again Indy Vet and Dr. Weiland.

Hannah, thank you for your kind words. We know all too well how difficult it is to say goodbye to a beloved pet. We are glad we were able to provide some comfort during this tough process. We hope that Echo's sweet memories are able to bring you comfort during this time of healing for you and your family.

Negative experience: You’re better off going to another emergency vet (Noah’s or VEG). On my way to the vet, the staff lied to me saying they would be able to do an endoscopy for my dog that swallowed his treat whole which got stuck in the esophagus. After they got their money for the office visit fee and X rays which took 3 hours, that is when they told me they don’t have the necessary equipment to do an endoscopy, a pretty routine procedure for my dogs symptoms. Ended up having to go to another emergency vet 40min away.

Nick, we are so sorry for your experience. Thank you for taking time to provide this feedback. We can understand how frustrating this would be, especially while Lucky was not feeling well. We are equipped for endoscopy, but unfortunately did not have an anesthesia technician on call that night to be able facilitate anesthesia for the procedure. This is not a common occurrence for us, but when it does happen we certainly need to ensure that we are upholding our end of clear communication with clients. We will look into this to try to prevent this situation from happening again in the future. We hope that Lucky is doing well. Should you wish to discuss further with us, please don't hesitate to email us at [email protected] and we would be happy to reach out.

Fantastic experience: They saved our boxer! Would recommend. Very nice and caring every step of the way. My only complaint would be that it FELT way to long of a wait in er. But when your emotions are crazy and your dog is coughing up blood, every minute feels to long.

We’re honored to be trusted with Bo's care. He was a joy to care for! We completely understand that waits can feel incredibly long when you are worried about your baby. This is something that we are consistently working to try to improve upon. We sincerely value your recommendation and thank you for taking the time to share your experience with others.

Positive experience: Our experience while we were at the hospital was good. It was after we got home that was unsatisfactory. My cat cut a vessel on her paw pad and needed stitches to stop the bleeding. They had bandaged her paw and it went all the way up her leg, and they put a cone on her head. During the car ride home my cat was already trying to get the bandage and the cone off. We got home about 1:30am and by 2:00 she had the bandage completely off, so I called the hospital to see if I could bring her back to rebandage her paw/leg. They told me it would be cheaper for me to call her primary vet and take her there when they opened, which wasn't for another 5 hours. I asked them if they seriously would charge me to rebandage her paw after just leaving there and already spending $1000. They told me that they would have to sedate her again in order to bandage her paw. I could understand if several hours had passed and I tried to take her back, but we had only been home for 30 minutes and they wouldn't rebandage my cat. I called her primary vet when they opened and they said they couldn't see her because they were booked. I said it will only take a few minutes to bandage her paw and they still said sorry not today. We called 3 other vets in our area and was told the same thing. So, we ended up having to bandage it ourselves. We didn't want the bandage to be too tight, so we didn't want to do it, but we had to. My cat has managed to get our bandages off as well, but possibly because we might not have done it tight enough. She might have gotten their bandage off again if they had let me bring her back, but the fact that they didn't even try is what upsets me. Now my cat has to go with no bandage at all leaving her paw exposed. So, the care my cat got while there was good, but in the end, I am not a satisfied customer.

Kim, your feedback is very important to us. Thank you for taking the time to offer this feedback. We are looking into Skye's case and following up with the doctor and staff involved as we don't want this experience to be repeated in the future. We sincerely apologize for the post-visit experience. Please email us at [email protected] or contact us directly at 317-782-4484 if you would like to discuss further and we will get back to you as soon as possible!

Fantastic experience: Saturday night my little guy took a pill I dropped before I had a chance to grab him. I called on my way in to make sure they had availability to see him on an urgent basis because another emergency vet I called did not. From the time I called, I was happy with my experience. The lady on the phone was understanding and kind. When I walked in the door, everyone was happy and polite and considerate. The vet that took care of my boy was understanding, knowledgeable, and authentic. She laughed, and smiled, and you could tell she truly was herself. Everyone seemed to really enjoy their jobs there, and care. They brought him all wrapped up in a pumpkin blanket to say good night to me because he stayed overnight. It was adorable! The girl who brought him in was also very sweet and she seemed to really enjoy my boy. I could tell he was in good hands. They called first thing in the morning to tell me he was doing great and I could come and get him. The girl who gave him back to me took time to explain everything, and chatted with me a little bit. They provided quick service, but nothing seemed rushed about any of it, even though they were busy. It was an expensive visit, but extremely reasonable considering location, and that fact that it was emergency care. I am satisfied with my experience. I will come back if my kitties ever need seen urgently. Thank you IndyVet for saving my smallest Bengals fan. <3

Fantastic experience: I think IndyVet is the best! When my mom wasn’t watching, I swallowed one of her Halloween socks, whole!! Let’s just say my mom was totally stressed. Everyone at IndyVet took good care of her while they treated me. I loved all the scratches and pets from everybody. The vet was really cool and said she liked my tail Even though I liked everyone I met, I hope I never have to go back cause it was hard on my mom. Stella Dwyer

Negative experience: Staff was nice. Not really a fan of places that overcharge for fear mongering but it works well for you. I appreciate the fact that you were able to diagnose lady Ava and overcharge me for your services. Hopefully you can see how heartbreaking your practice is. You should not use fear and heartbreaking things to empty the wallet of people. Thanks again for diagnosing Ava but please lower your prices accordingly to the overwhelming cost people are already having issues if they are at your facility. Shame on you

Fantastic experience: I had an emergency situation with my basset hound in the middle of the night, and in a panic drove an hour to IndyVet to get him seen by a vet. It was one of the BEST veterinary experiences I’ve had. The staff were friendly, very transparent about cost and treatment plan and diagnosis. I will never hesitate to take a pet here again.

Fantastic experience: I will be forever grateful to Dr.Kloft, Dr.Gehlhausen, DVM Newquist for saving my little dogs life. She had 1 day to live. They rushed her into surgery and I cried & cried. My dog means everything to me. She survived. The doctors, nurses, technicians, staff, took so good care of her. I was allowed to call all during the night so thank you to the 3rd shift staff for being so nice with updates. Everyone I talked to was so nice and caring even the check in ladies. There are not enough words to thank these people. You are so appreciated!
