Experiencia fantástica: I have been taking my dogs to Stiern Veterinary on Monterey since 2007. I do this because they are outstanding. The office staff, vet techs and aides along with the doctors are always friendly and professional. I trust and value the advice and treatment I get from them.

Experiencia fantástica: Everyone here was absolutely wonderful. Our kitty needed some serious dental work done and they were very thorough in explaining what needed to be done and why. The major difference between my previous experiences with vets is the kindness and patience they showed with the whole process from start to finish. Even when they were extremely busy and being bombarded they remained kind and attentive. The Vet himself did an amazing job ensuring that Pippen was well taken care of. Despite being a bit loopy, he came home and for the most part didn’t seem like he was in pain. I can tell he was well taken care of when he was there. I can’t thank the techs and the vet enough for taking care of our kitty the way they did.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been going here for a while since my 11-year-old dog was a puppy. These guys have always been great to me. The staff is kind and attentive to both me and my pup. One thing I really appreciate is how they explain clearly and thoroughly everything that is available, without making it seem like you have to buy extra stuff if you don’t want to or can’t afford it. I genuinely feel like they want what’s best for the animals they care for. I would highly recommend them if you are seeking veterinary care.

Experiencia fantástica: Front staff is super nice, friendly and helpful. The vet techs were friendly and great with my dogs (even my big, stinky old one). But the gem of this practice is Doctor Paulden. She is hands down the best veterinarian there is. She genuinely cares for the animals she sees and that's evident in the time she spends and the care the animals receive. She is very thorough with her exams, even got down on the ground to check my old dog's arthritic hips/knees. Answered all of my questions and never made me feel rushed and was so genuinely nice. I know my animals are in good hands when I bring them here. Thank you!!

I especially appreciated that they didn't push a bunch of procedures like some other practices do. The doctor recommended a blood test for my dog, which I agree is needed, but there was no pressure. From the moment we walked in, the staff was friendly, welcoming, and very informative. We were checked in and seen right away with zero wait time. This was Hunter’s first visit, and he came in for a full checkup, shots, blood work, and a physical exam. The staff answered all of my questions thoroughly and with care. Dr. Paulden was amazing — she recommended the best treatment plan to help get Hunter’s back legs moving better. Overall, I’m extremely happy with the service and care we received. I’ll definitely be bringing my pets here for all future visits!

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been bringing my pets to Stiern Veterinary Hospital for decades & will happily, gratefully continue doing so! We LOVE Dr. Rakow! She has always shown such patience, love & compassion for us & every animal we’ve brought in for routine and/or urgent care. The staff is great, too! When I called to schedule, all Dr’s. were booked for weeks in advance. They scheduled our future appointment & put us on the wait list, should they have any cancellations and an earlier appointment became available. I got a call, later the same day, and my Cat was able to see Dr. Rakow the next morning! It was such a relief for me, not having to wait weeks for care! I’d have waited, because going somewhere else for care was not a choice I’d make, unless receiving care became an emergency!

They were very nice and very caring with my cats . The staff is fun and very friendly. Couldn’t have asked for a better first time welcome and my cats seem to be at ease . My cat is having over grooming issues, The vet wants me to change her diet and see if we could figure out and fix the issue before we go farther into treatment, they checked her health and said everything looks good… I paid $65 for the visit.

They even have txt msg options which is so convenient. My dog was switching from Zenrelia to Apoquel and it is not cheap! I was told to check Costco and WOW was she right. Most places want you to purchase it from them and that is not the case at Stiern Vet. I am completely content and grateful I found them to care for our dogs!

Stiern has been absolutely wonderful with my cat and I appreciate their friendly customer service too. After battling odd symptoms for a few months we may finally have a diagnosis. Just need to confirm it with more labs and then we will begin treatment and she should start feeling much better. The pricing is reasonable and as expected, nothing outrageous. Their texting communication process is ideal for me and they are prompt with their responses. We will continue bringing our dog to this clinic

He has walked me through the process of having to care for and put to sleep numerous of my pets. He always knows the perfect words to ease our heartbreak and always has a box of Kleenex in hand. He goes over and above to care for his clients. The staff is also very kind and efficient. I would never think of going anywhere else! They are the best!

The vet and tech had to examine him but they gave him plenty of time and were very gentle. Each time I have needed information, the staff work with me on the phone, send multiple messages so I don't waste a trip or not bring what is needed. This is a very caring group of vets and techs and they sincerely want the best for your pet(s)

The office staff was empathetic and compassionate with my entire family. Dr. Paulden walked us through every step, and they gave up all the time we needed. Experiencia positiva: I like Dr Rose. Going to her for 7 yrs. She is really very good with my dog, loving & thorough. Takes time to explain things making sure I understand. Helping me with the lowest cost Rx I can find. The wait time is completely unreasonable especially when the desk clerks don’t even acknowledge you when you’re still waiting 45 minutes or more after your apt time with an explanation or apology. Everyone’s nice but not very courteous in that aspect. That is the only reason I deleted one star.

Experiencia fantástica: If you have reptiles, this is THE vet to go to. They are so friendly and so willing to help figure out what's wrong with your scale baby. They are a drop-off vet, which was nice since I needed to get back to work rather than hang out in the waiting room. Highly recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: Love this place! It’s a small clinic so they are always busy but the entire staff is caring and professional. Years ago, I had a cat that started getting a discolored area on his lip that turned into a swollen spot. I had taken him to another clinic in town and they dismissed it as a URI. Then I brought him to Stiern and they did a punch biopsy and it turned out to be cancer. Dr. Paulden called me and talked to me for a good 20 minutes about what kind of cancer it could be and what caused it, and the treatment options. He ended up being put down but I will forever be grateful to them for going above and beyond to find out what was wrong with my kitty <3

Experiencia positiva: I was happy that Dr Rakow could see my dog. She is excellent and took very good care of my Inky who passed away at 15 years in 2018. I want her to take care of my last little dog who is 13 and has heart issues. I know he will be in good hands with Dr Rakow. At this point Stiern Vet is keeping Covid precautions in place even though CA has opened up. I would have preferred a face to face meeting with Dr Rakow, but for now pet owners wait in their cars while the vet examines the patient. Then the vet calls you on your cell phone to give treatment recommendations. It works out ok for now, but if my pet were sick as opposed to a routine exam, it would be better to be in the exam room with my dog. Stiern is expensive for procedures like dental cleanings, but when you have an older pet with health issues, Dr Rakow is highly recommended! 05/03/24 Dr Pauldon has been caring for my 16 yr old Havanese since he started coughing. She is very kind and knowledgeable. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. Thank you Stiern Vet! I am glad you are there for us.

Experiencia fantástica: I'm not a fan of vet hospitals in general for many reasons. So I try to stay away from vets as myas possible by giving my pets the best care possible. But there are those times that you have to come in to get checked. Although it's so hard to get an appointment close enough from the time you call, they do offer an additional convenience by allowing you to scheduling online. And I've only had good experiences here. And I like that it's so close to home.

Several years ago, while another vet was doing nothing to save my dying dog child, we received LIFE SAVING advice from Monet and veterinarians over the phone. After our traumatic experience, we began asking around for veterinary recommendations and received endless praises for Dr. Rako at Stiern. After our advice over the phone and all the recommendations, It was an obvious decision to choose them. I have several animals and they all love Dr. Rako and the kind staff. The Dr is very thorough. Her love for animals is undeniable and my pets sense this warmth. My cat, Coraline, literally snuggles into her, even after her shots. I could go on and on about this hospital. Simply put, this is the best vet in town! Oh, and I LOVE Walter the veiled chameleon in the lobby Here’s pictures of all my cuddly babies (they all adore one another) one of Dr Rako with Coraline and portraits I drew of my 3 doggies.

Experiencia negativa: The cost was not what I was lead to believe it would be On 2-7-2024 I was given a high and low price I stated and agreed to the low price And understood that if my dog was heavier Than I said it was the quote wound increase per weight On the day of 2-7-2024 my appointment Time the Dog was weighed and was 24 pounds over the estimate weight I agreed to the weight and left the dog I was called about 30 minutes after I had drop the dog off and informed that because the dog had not been seen prior That the Doc would need to check the dog out and it would be a extra charge also that the price I was quoted was wrong I returned and signed a ok for that Because the dog was already there I was in my opinion cornered!! You can’t be changing prices after the fact Was also called again for a tongue that needed to be fixed I said no When I was picking up the Dog the invoice was About 50 percent more than what I agreed to that Morning It went from $367 to $582 That is not how it should of been The Dog was there to be Spayed Not a very happy Person Red

Experiencia fantástica: The staff at Stiern’s Vet is amazing! Everyone is so nice and caring. My dog had an ear infection and their next available appointment was in 3 weeks! Then they called and could work me in three days, but they kept an eye out and when they had a cancellation that same morning they called and saw my sick baby the same day! And the Vet Tech and Dr. Paulden were wonderful with Bandit and he’s on the road to recovery.

They can usually get us in in a timely manner depending on what we need, which i absolutely love. I even buy different types of medicine from them online.
