Experiencia negativa: I scheduled an appointment for my puppy’s vaccination. After waiting 40 minutes, I was told they did not have the vaccine available and that I would need to reschedule. I rescheduled for the following week, but after waiting over an hour, I asked when my puppy would be seen. They then told me I did not have an appointment and would need to wait, which was simply not true. I was very disappointed and would not recommend this clinic.

Experiencia fantástica: The staff has always been very kind and the Dr's have always been very helpful in making sure that I understand everything going on with my feline daughter. To the staff : when I asked to be notified about any cancellations so that my baby could be seen sooner than her original available appointment, it really meant so much to me when you guys reached out to me and made it happen. Experiencia negativa: My dog saw Dr. Myers’s in November of 2025. She did a thorough exam and prescribed medication. My bill was almost 1000 dollars for blood work, antibiotics, and X-rays. My dog did not respond well to the medication, so I called the office multiple times. I was placed on hold for a very long time and received promises for a call back that never materialized. When I finally reached someone 2 days later, I was told that Dr. Myers was gone for a week. I was informed that other doctors would not help me since she was the one who prescribed the treatment. She was supposed to call me back the following week as well and never did. Despite the emergency treatment, my 13 year old beloved dog passed away at our home the day before Thanksgiving. Farewell From Home veterinarian, Dr. Alvarado, helped him to finally be free of pain. I am deeply disappointed in Coffee Road Animal Hospital. I have been telling everyone who asks for recommendations to avoid it at all cost. I’ve never had a vet not follow up. Every clinic that I’ve been to before, even speciality vets, always call for the next couple of days to follow up. Just awful.

Experiencia positiva: I brought both of my dogs here yesterday to get their yearly vaccinations and they gave one of my dogs vaccines he didn’t need and as a result was unable to give him one of the ones he needed. There was no communication about anything and annoyance or defensiveness when I asked any questions. Both of my dogs are in pain and limping the next day, and the one who got the extra vaccinations he didn’t need peed while he was sleeping. I came back to speak with a senior Vet today and she was apologetic but I will not be returning.

After getting the run around at the other vets they were either not doing surgery or had a waiting list or wanted like San Joaquin to give her 4 booster shots, rabies, and kennel cough and then they would do the surgery. They got her in and out no run around and we're very nice and even had a $100 off special. They even said she had a small ear infection and sent ear meds home with her. I'm very pleased they seemed very busy but handled it well.

There use to be a genuine display of care and affection from the people working there 2wards pets. Then few "new faces" kinda took that caring part away and treated it just like a business, strictly business.It was a business then and it is a business now, i get it. Pretty pleased with the attention and the care given by the staff, on my most recent visit. For many of us, theses Dogs/Cats "are our kids"....Dr. Paine is still the Best....Thank you Coffee Rd Animal Hospital....

Experiencia fantástica: Brought my son (elderly cat) in for a wound treatment and lethargy. Staff were incredibly kind and compassionate. Dr. M was very thoughtful and patient with me and my boy. She clearly explained my options. Bless her heart, I was an emotional mess and she answered all my questions with the gentleness and patience of a saint. Baby boy is doing great! The staff gave me the equipment and knowledge to improve his quality of life and I am so grateful to have had their support.

Dr. Paine is very thorough, and showed genuine concern in my pets health. She also went out of her way to contact the vet in the state I am traveling to for additional info about my travel certificate. I am happy with our experience, and will continue to care for my pet here.

Experiencia fantástica: We came to Coffee Road Animal Hospital to establish being a new patient. Our standard poodle is 20 months and we are getting close to having her spayed. We wanted a Vet closer to home and an office that was welcoming and loving & we seem to have found just that. Dr. Hamman made great observation right off the bat that our girl is very timid and was super nervous. He moved at her pace until she felt comfortable with him and continually worked towards this. He answered ALL my questions thoroughly and never made me feel like any of my many questions were dumb. The entire appointment was worth the wait. We originally called to schedule while Covid was affecting the calendar more, so it was a few months to be seen however it was worth the wait to become a new patient here. The exam room and waiting area is clean and air conditioned. The staff were all very friendly even when my girl got spooked by the presence of a couple bigger dogs and she started barking, they totally gave me space to calm her down, and I never felt overwhelmed. They are a busy practice with a little wait in the waiting room but kept things moving. We are scheduled for her spay in a few months and look forward to returning, with added instructions too for her nervousness. We highly recommend Coffee Road Animal Hospital. Fast forward: 5/2025 We have a new addition to our family, another standard poodle puppy. Doing all her vaccinations and boosters, still a very busy place but it’s been nice seeing the same families on the same vaccination schedule. Update: Our girl’s Spay went really well. She since had a tooth extraction and dental cleaning as well. We really love Dr Myers, she really takes her time with our timid “Covid” girl. Dr Hammon is great too, he really hears his clients.

Experiencia negativa: I brought my dog in to the resort for a weekend, and he came home sick with diarrhea and pooped out a black plastic cable tie. Doctor refused to take responsibility nor would she hold the staff accountable. Next, my appointment was canceled without my knowledge because they "suddenly" started requiring a deposit, which we had NEVER had to pay before. Service went downhill real fast, we are no longer a patient here.

Experiencia negativa: This place was so awful to us and my cat. We booked an appointment even though it wasn't til June 25th, but we had to take him early because my cat was bleeding from his genitals, and they still refused to help my cat unless we had an appointment. So, the only thing they did was give us a list of emergency vets. That's it. We took my cat to VCA Animal Hospital, and even though we waited all day to see the vet, at least they helped us and didn't turn us away, unlike Coffee Road Animal Hospital did. Never go here.

I booked on line got in about three weeks later. On my visit I was in an out with thirty minutes and that's probably a first. Good service thank you

The VCA wanted me to wait 2 months for appointment .Another vet wanted me to wait 3 months for surgery. What a joke. Dental services scheduled for 2 weeks later at Coffee Rd. Good customer service

This vet exceeded my expectations. Despite a busy day, the staff were incredibly kind and attentive, showing genuine care for all the animals. The office kitty was a delightful bonus! I'm especially grateful to the blonde and reddish-haired young staff and Dr. Moghadam, for their excellent care. They were far more thorough and informative than my previous vet. I'm returning on Monday for a follow-up, and I'm very pleased with their service.

Experiencia fantástica: I brought my girlfriend's dog here for an ear infection. I noticed that all the people who worked here were really polite and good-humored, like kindergarten teachers or something. I also liked that there were several employees, so things were moving along pretty well. My GF's dog was nervous and peed in the lobby, but they just sent someone out with a mop and took care of it right away. The doctor/veterinarian was super friendly and very helpful in her explanation of the problem and possible treatments. The price ended up being pretty reasonable, too. I try to do helpful, balanced reviews with both pros and cons, but can't really think of anything negative to say based on this one visit. Recommending a good vet is like recommending a good lawyer; you hope you never need one in the first place. But I've got no problem recommending these folks if you need a vet.

Experiencia negativa: I am so disappointed in myself for putting my cat in the hands of this clinic. I took my cat in for an exam and later a dental extraction surgery. For my exam, I met the Dr and he said he would be performing the dental extraction, what teeth, etc. When it came time to pick my cat up from her surgery, it was a completely different vet that had done the surgery. It cost $1300 (not counting medications, exam fee, etc) for four teeth to be removed, and then she referred me to a dental specialist in LA (that they get commission for referring clients to!) because apparently it was too difficult to complete the surgery. I just picked my cat up from Dr. Cooke's office and was told that they had to remove the roots of all of the teeth that were previously extracted because Coffee Rd LEFT THEM THERE. Dr Cooke removed four more teeth and all of the roots for $220. Total.

The doctor was very sweet and explained everything well, was very gentle with the kitties. The price was great too, it was way cheaper than I had expected. I couldn't recommend this place more. I've been to several vets in town over the years with different pets, and they were far and away the best experience I've had.

Now… I would like to say a BIG thank you to Dr. Hammond (forgive me if I spelt his last name wrong) he did surgery on my chihuahua and did an amazing job. We’re on day 2 after her surgery and chichi is doing amazing. Chichi had a hernia repair and spay, I appreciate his kindness so much , any questions I had regarding chichi he answered and explained everything and got to the point before he performed surgery. Chichi acts like she didn’t have surgery two days ago and is being herself. This was her first surgery ever, I will be bringing all my fur kids here from now on. This is such an amazing vet, the prices are great & with how many appointments they had in one day reminded me that this is a good vet that people TRUST & bring their furbaby to. No walk-ins & they were packed❤️ they don’t make you wait a long time once you check in by the way. Thank you Dr. Hammond and your team who helped assist. See ya soon!

Experiencia fantástica: I am from out of the area,here for dog training for a month. My 18 week old pup needed a 2nd flu shot. Based upon Coffee Road's easy scheduling for vaccinations i was able to get that taken care of at a very reasonable price. Thank you so much for seeing us!

Experiencia positiva: Specifically, the vets at this practice are excellent. My experience with the techs in the back is the same. A couple of the front office staff are excellent as well. My dogs have been treated here since this office opened its doors (I believe it was in the early 1990s). Prices spiked in the last few years, and are significantly higher than those friends tell me they pay at other local offices (hence the deletion of one star).

Experiencia fantástica: Always the best was based on vaccines. Now when I really needed the vet to see my dog for her 1 year visit, the Doctor was with my dog for about 5 minutes. Told me she needed more food, listed her heart and left without answering my questions about her itching. Later she sent the assistant with a paper regarding pancreas disease and an almost $800 estimate for spaying. I paid $68 just to leave with the same questions I had when I went. Waited more than a Month for a doctor’s visit that didn’t happen. You are about to lose a customer…

Experiencia negativa: Called for an emergency with an animal. And they told me they could schedule me in 3 weeks!? Not a hospital disingenuous name they have no urgency and told me to look for other animal "hospitals" in town. They clearly are a vet not a someone who will see you urgently.

Experiencia negativa: Very bad customer service (front desk) she’s very rude and has a very bad attitude. I noticed it since I stepped in. She didn’t even say oh hi, how can I help you, extremely rude. I had an incident when I was about to pay, my card got declined don’t know why and she told me very aggressive your card got declined. I gave her the same attitude she was giving me. I told her I will be using another card. After leaving she was like oh have a good day, I was like really! That girl needs to find another job because customer services is a no no no for her!

Experiencia fantástica: Coffee Road Animal Hospital is great. I used to go to another vet here in Bakersfield and they were just a money mill and didn’t care about the animals. I switched over because my dog had really really bad anxiety and was on medication. He had also developed a mass on his side. When I first brought him in there each vet that we saw was so compassionate and caring. They got down on the floor with him and helped to calm him before doing anything. The staff remember him and even went above and beyond when we had to put him down. I also just recently brought in my cat because of an overgrown and infected nail between his thumb and paw. The vet was super nice and took great care of him. If you’re looking for a vet in Bakersfield I would highly recommend Coffee Road Animal Hospital. I won’t take my animals anywhere else.

Very professional staff. I'm 65 and have had 3 dogs and 4 cats in my lifetime and this is probably the best vet clinic I have ever been to. 5 stars!

Experiencia negativa: [Edit: Response] $100 deposit for recurring clients seems a bit excessive when you could just book people with their credit info on hand to charge them sed $100 if they don’t show up…‍♀️ Even hospitals do that lol. Either way, as I said, nearly doubling the price of spaying since the end of last year is too big of a price jump to justify, sorry. Last year I got my male kitty neutered along with an eye membrane removal all for ~$170… As I said, it is an unfortunate and discouraging thing to see because it’s a contributing factor to the surge in pets being dumped at shelters and euthanized. In the end, it’s the animals that suffer the consequences This is my first time ever rating anything on here, but I really wanted to share my thoughts. I’ve been going to this vet for all my kitties for some years now, and I’ve always really loved the place! The staff is always super friendly (always decorating the office for every holiday which I always thought was fun ) and I never had any bad experiences with my visits there. So when I decided to welcome a new stray kitty into my family, I figured I would take her here as well. HOWEVER…when I called to see if I could get her spayed, I was told it was gonna be ~$360 PLUS a $100 deposit. I was really taken aback since I had just taken two of my kitties to get spayed/neutered towards the end of last year and I was charged $200 with NO DEPOSIT since I wasn’t a new client. I completely understand that inflation has spiked up prices, and I would have understood if the price had gone up a bit higher since the end of last year…but to nearly DOUBLE the price AND ask for a $100 deposit is a little much ☹️. It makes me really sad considering I really did like this place. But this made me feel a bit icky, like being taken advantage of. There is a HUGE surge in pets being dumped at shelters, along with an overwhelming amount of strays on the streets (all my kitties are rescues), resulting in most of these babies being euthanized because they’ve reached capacity. And after seeing these prices I a can see why this is happening. How can we stop the over-reproduction of stray cats when getting them spayed costs nearly $400?? How many animal lovers can honestly adopt a pet from a shelter to give them a home when vets are charging this much?? All this has honestly just been super disappointing and discouraging. If you can spend this amount of money, then I do recommend this vet! I just wish they took into account their long-standing customers. Bummer. Time to look for a new place.

Experiencia fantástica: This is my kitty's clinic and I really love it here!! I was so nervous about my vats first clinic visit, but I had to bring her in due to a medical issue. The staff and doctor was extremely kind and we were able to quickly get the work done that my cat needed on her teeth. Very knowledge staff & a clean office. Highly recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: My Rotty, Maximus, was having issues (pain) with his hips so I took him to CRAH. He was sedated, examined and treated and is doing much better now. Big thanks to Vivian who helped lift a growling 112lbs Rottweiler into my truck AND she called the following day to see how Maximus was feeling. I highly recommend CRAH for all your furry family members!

Experiencia negativa: My animals have been patients at Coffee Road Animal Hospital for over a decade. I have never been a no-show for an appointment. Now their policy is to make clients pay $40 BEFORE the appointment. The person on the phone says it is because of so many no-shows. This is ridiculous and unacceptable. I will be finding a new vet for my 4 pets. They are already the most expensive vet in the area. Here’s an idea: bill the no-shows and don’t let them come back as patients!! Why punish the people who follow the rules??
