Experiencia fantástica: One of my chickens was attacked overnight and, it was beyond my care so I called Santa Clara Animal Hospital after a quick search for an avian vet. While an appointment wasn't readily available they talked me through my options for urgent/emergent care and I was able to get my injured hen in. I was greeted by Sara who I had spoken with on the phone (she's awesome), intake was handled by Olivia who took down further details and called with follow-up and next steps after further assessment, and ultimately my hen was patched up by Dr. Britney. I was kept informed throughout and while we're almost at the 72 hour mark since we were at the vet, I cannot believe how well everything is healing. I would highly recommend Santa Clara Animal Hospital.

Experiencia fantástica: My cat went for a teeth cleaning, she also had 2 teeth extracted & another that had to be drilled out. They spent extra time in order to do her procedure. They even clipped her nails at no charge. Upon check out I was given pictures, all procedures & charges were explained & all after care was explained. I was very happy with the services & my cat was happy with the care she received. The office called early the next morning to check on how she was doing. I'm happy to say she is doing great. I recommend Santa Clara Animal Hospital to anyone who loves their fur babies.

Experiencia fantástica: On my way to take my dog to his appointment, I sadly saw a dog get run over by a truck and that truck kept driving. This was right next to Santa Clara Animal Hospital. Their team rushed into action along with several community members. I saw them bring this dog on a gurney and take him immediately in to get treatment. This is what any good veterinarian hospital would do and they delivered. I already love them for all 3 of my animals but this was excellent care for our community.

Experiencia fantástica: I cannot say enough good things about this vet hospital. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly kind, gentle, and compassionate with my dog. They treated her like their own — giving her lots of love and kisses, which meant the world to me during such a stressful situation. After being denied by multiple other vets, they were the only ones willing to see my girl for a chemical intoxication, and I will forever be grateful for that. They allowed me to stay with her the entire time (except briefly for her nail trim), which truly helped ease my anxiety. The team continuously reassured me that she was going to be okay, and that level of care and communication was priceless. I walked in fully expecting to pay $400+ and was shocked (in the best way) to leave spending only $180. The honesty, compassion, and quality of care were beyond impressive. My dog loved them, I loved them, and I will absolutely be returning and recommending them to everyone I know. Thank you for taking such amazing care of my girl ❤️

Experiencia positiva: I had to wait for about 30 minutes for my appointment which is unusual for Santa Clara Animal Hospital. When the Vet Tech did asked us back to the exam room, she actually apologized for our wait as di the Vet when she arrived. I can understand how unanticipated problems arise. And I'd want the Vet and Staff to take time with me and my pet if needed. And I really appreciate the apology.

Experiencia fantástica: My pets were not established patients here and I called the day before a major holiday to request an emergency visit for my elderly cat. They were fully booked (and closing early that day) and managed to get him scheduled. Although they said they were running behind due to an emergency, I felt like I barely waited at all. They were comprehensive and well coordinated in the care they provided. Everything they wanted to do was thoroughly explained. I also have to comment on the environment there. The best way to describe it is that it felt calm and loving. I cannot remember another time in my life when I’ve been in a very clinic that felt this peaceful. From the outside looking in, they are doing everything right. I am establishing care for my other animals there.

I have been bringing my bearded dragons there for 5 years and they have very knowledgeable exotic Dr's that stay up to date on beardie care. Experiencia fantástica: My cat Coco woke up very sick Monday morning with a high fever and lethargic. I called SCAH and they had me drop him off right away. I picked him up at 4:30 and he was much better. The little guy had an infection someplace in his little body. They treated him and he much better today. I wouldn't take my animals anywhere else. We have been going there for over 5 years. The staff is great and everyone is very caring.

When I called to get set up with a new vet I expressed my preference to the front and they set us up with a vet they thought would meet our expectations. I feel like this clinic did really well matching my pets with the right doctor. Dr. Pappas Is amazing. I feel like my concerns are heard and not dismissed which is what matters most to me. She’s kind with my pets and loving. I’m so happy that we found someone to treat our dogs with the proper care they deserve.

I was very easily scheduled over the phone and they even worked with me about getting in sooner than anticipated, which I highly appreciate. This team helped out a tremendous amount during a very stressful situation. I was given a very in-depth explanation of everything with multiple approaches and associations risks. I can’t thank you enough for how well this situation was handled. Thank you. Keep up the amazing work.

Experiencia positiva: Excellent exotics staff and the only place I trust to bring a hamster in this entire town. Also our preferred vet for our guinea pigs, but they're hard to get in if it's an emergency situation. Lots of vets say they know how to treat hamsters but view them as lesser just like so many people do - this place really means it when they say that they care for all exotics. They're a little on the spendy side, but I guess I don't know what a 'fair' price for hamster veterinary medicine is. It's never seemed outrageous. -1 star for euthanasia appointments requiring an intake appointment as well, though, that's insane. Hope this changes in future as hamsters typically don't need a vet until they NEED THEM NOW or they need euthanasia.

Experiencia negativa: We had our bunny there for years and spent every penny of our disability checks on that bunny and her care. And she was on an IV and sent home and said that she was fine the next day she died a horrific death. They are terrible veterinarians they take your moneyand don’t care about your animals at all. Don’t go there.

Looking forward to a long wonderful relationship! 2nd visit for our pups spaying. Communication was awesome, we brought Maddie home knowing how the next few days were going to go. Santa Clara Animal Hospital does go above and beyond. Even the bill was explained graciously. New review, Maddie had a biopsy yesterday and Dr. Jess is great as is all the staff there...from keeping in touch with us to explaining the bill, to going over all post op stuff. They are just great!!

I called with an emergent pet concern at 0715, was seen in the office at 0900, labs done and diagnosis/prognosis given by 10:00. I was amazed! Just wish the prognosis was more favorable:(

I think it seemed a little unstructured....Upside was they were apoligic for the wait, compassionate and understanding. I just needed an appointment to conviently get a pet check up. I understand that communication was lacking but I'm to visit again with my fur baby.

My only complaint is when i lived in Calif. and went to dr Gallerstien I was never charged an exotic ad on for my birds. Visits were the same as for my dogs. Definitely stops me from getting the needed care for my 4 parrots sices its already so expensive. The staff at your vets are all good though.

Prices are very reasonable considering the difficult nature of caring for exotic pets. The staff are all super friendly and helpful, and clearly love what they do. They have a dedicated reptile waiting room! Best place to go for a reptile owner.

They make every effort to make Fin feel happy and comfortable, loaded with treats, and so so helpful to me as a new cat mom. Answering every single question I had with such patience and kindness. He has had a few bumps in the road so far, and I've always trusted the vets and staff to give him the best possible care. I am also a broke college student. However, SC is very upfront and transparent about prices for everything. They give me a heads-up about costs before giving vaccines or doing any treatment that will cost extra. I call them all the time for cat advice as well. Whenever things feel slightly off, I call. I recognize that vets are still businesses that need money, but they never once unnecessarily advised me to come in for a checkup. If they didn't think it was urgent, they would consistently give me open and honest advice over the phone with no costs added. I am so sad to be moving and transferring vets, and I highly recommend Santa Clara Animal Hospital if you've got a furry friend!

Experiencia negativa: Front desk staff was kind and vet tech was communicative, attentive, and handled my cats well. Unfortunately, when I asked the vet for food recommendations, she said she feeds her cats Purina dry and wet food. She also recommended Science Diet, as most vets do, and I am skeptical but looking into it. I am trying to find a way to feed my cats real human grade meat, not grains and by-products. It was also not communicated to me that my cats' regular vaccinations were not included in the $95 check up, so I had a surprise $110 bill for each of my cats.

Experiencia fantástica: Darla is terrified of vets,but did remarkably well with both Madison and Dr. Jess.i was impressed with how much time they both spent gaining her confidence. We both will be looking forward to seeing them both again. Our was so much less stressful with the both of them.

Experiencia negativa: I had to pay $94 for an appointment. It was the only clinic open that early in my area, so I scheduled one. It was my pup's first veterinary visit; the staff were kind, and the lobby appeared clean. When the doctor was ready, we proceeded to the exam room, and I respectfully inquired about my concerns. They suggested booster shots for a vaccine he had recently received, as well as a plan costing $60 to $130+ monthly. After administering a shot, the veterinarian reviewed the paperwork and informed me they had mistakenly given him the feline vaccine. I expressed my disappointment. They then administered the correct vaccine and continued to recommend the plan, which I politely declined. At the front desk, they scheduled a follow-up appointment that I will need to cancel to avoid a $50+ cancellation fee. They also charged me an additional $100+ for the vaccine(s). In summary, I felt the cost was excessive for the services rendered and the level of care provided. I will be seeking veterinary care elsewhere for my dog.

Of all the places I’ve taken my cats, Santa Clara Animal Hospital is at the top of my list. They are extremely caring and thorough, from the front desk staff to the vet techs to the doctors. I feel so good taking my cats there, because they are treated with love and attention. They take their time with examinations and explain any aspects of concern. This is a great place to take your furry family members. I highly recommend it.

Experiencia negativa: My wife took in our cat for she wasn’t acting right. After leaving our cat at their clinic. They said they ran her blood work and everything checked out. They even had someone come out and do an Ultrasound. Again they said the scan came back and everything looked good. After paying over a $1,000 and getting our cat back. They still had us come back in and buy a type of steroid that would help her eat. If anything the medication decreased her hunger, and our cat died 5 days later. I will never bring any of my current animals or any of my future animals to Santa Clara Animal Hospital.

Experiencia fantástica: We've been seeing Dr. Brian Zulauf at Santa Clara Animal Hospital for years with our previous dog and with our 3 year old Maltipoo, and when he recently announced he was moving away I thought we'd never find another vet as good as him. I made an appointment with Dr. Barbara Brasted-Maki for our pup's annual wellness exam. What a pleasure it was to meet Dr. Barbara. She was very thorough and compassionate with the exam and I will continue to see her at Santa Clara Animal Hospital, hopefully for years to come.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr Cary went above and beyond care for my dog, Callie before and after surgery. She treated Callie like she was her own. The staff was also kind and caring. I have been to other vets in town and Santa Clara Animal Hospital is by far the best.

Experiencia fantástica: Everyone was so kind from the receptionist to the veterinary assistant and the Doctor herself. They answered all my questions and gave me options for treating my fur baby. I would highly recommend Santa Clara Animal Hospital for all your veterinary needs.

Experiencia negativa: Don't take your pets here. Please. They don't care about your pet, all they care about is how much money they can get from you. My cat was literally dying. She could hardly breathe, whizzing and rasping, and they were just too busy to put her to sleep. I had to find another vet to end her misery and send her to heaven. Another of our cats has been on steroids every 6 weeks for over 2 years They never told me his problem was allergies. Suddenly they refused to treat him without another exam which he had only 3 months ago and cost me around $600. He had scratched his legs bare, back, neck and head and was in so much pain but they would only see him if he had another exam but i waited 2 weeks for someone to get back to me so finally found another vet that saw him immediately and told me what his allergies were from and took care of him. They are scamming you so please beware. Example. They told me my cat was well hydrated so why did they give him fluids? There are a lot of good vets here, so find one and stay away from this one.

Experiencia fantástica: On our first visit, I must say that the staff was very friendly and informative. Our mini schnauzer was very well taking good care off and she quickly felt at ease with the Doctor who answered all our questions. Very professional.

Experiencia fantástica: We used to go to Santa Clara Animal Hospital 30 years ago when Dr Blinkhorn was there. We had a very bad experience with a Vet there after Dr Blinkhorn left the practice, and, consequently, started going elsewhere. A few weeks ago we went back to Santa Clara Animal Hospital to have an old parrot, that had been neglected, and given to us, checked out as there is an exotics veterinarian there, Dr. Britney Gibbens. It was a wonderful experience, and our bird "Baby Cakes" is doing fantastically. The facility is totally revamped, the staff is wonderful, I believe it is under new ownership, though not certain. I thought, "maybe we should give this place a second chance!", and we have... Yesterday, I took one of our dogs in, for a check up. The Doctor was outstanding, and our pup is doing great. Dr. Barbara, as she introduced herself, was so good with our dog. She did a full check from head to toe, let me know what would benefit, and gave us options, and cost estimates for future treatments. This is a dog we have had for 4 months. She was basically a throw away that someone picked up from previous owner, and gave to us. She has 1 good tooth, is deaf, and was constantly itchy despite all our efforts with special shampoo and diet. For the itchiness, Dr. Barbara gave several options, one option being that of an injection, which I opted to try so that Charlotte could continue to eat and play with the others. She also prescribed ear medicine, and special shampoo, which we got at the front desk. Dr. Barbara also recommended extracting some remnants of rear teeth that are no good, along with removing a growth that is blocking Charlotte's ear canal. We did what we could afford, this trip, and will be back to get the other work done ASAP. By the time I got home Charlotte no longer had any itchiness. She slept all through the night, and woke up looking so refreshed and happy! We are very, very happy with Santa Clara Animal Hospital and will be back soon. The folks at the front desk are easy to communicate with, and have been very helpful, both in person and over the phone. The facility is spotless, organized, and efficient, with plenty of staff.
