Unfortunately my cat has serious health problems and Dr. Renner spent a lot of time in the room plus half an Hour on the phone with lab results the next day. The whole team from front office to back definitely cares about more than business. They made a plan to keep my cat comfortable and let him go with love and dignity when it's time. If you're broke and exhausted from corporate pet care, bring your pet here. This practice puts healing and kindness first. I'm recovering from a fall and one of their vet assistants even helped me get Marcel back in the car in his carrier. Amazing care. And my cat has a bunch of new friends.

Experiencia fantástica: I've been taking my 3 year old cat to this veterinary office for a few years now and they've been lovely since day one. She is usually shy and timid but she tolerates the poking and prodding from the staff very well, as they are incredibly gentle and kind with her. It's really important to me that my cat's vet team is solid and they genuinely are. Also shoutout to the team for dealing with my anxiety about her health with kindness and patience :) p.s. picture of scheming creature in question added for context edit: my cat has been getting treatment for her asthma for a few weeks now and Dr. Mark has been so good about checking in. my baby has improved so much and she has her zoomies back, which is a huge relief! from daily asthma attacks to none at all, I'm so thankful for this animal hospital. pricing for her meds are very reasonable too! I seriously recommend this vet office, they are wonderful!

Experiencia fantástica: A couple days ago, 12/16, we took our 15 month old mini short haired dachshund to the vet because he was making yelping sounds, piercing. Our vet clinic took him in instantly and did a thorough exam on Reggie. I really appreciate the team and how fast they were able to get Reggie into a room and examine him. Day three and Reggie is doing better with the meds the Doctor gave us to give to Reggie. Reggie has been my emotional support fur baby so just imagine how upsetting it was to see my baby hurting to nite feeling a little better. Thank you so much team and Doctor!

The price was lower than my usual vet and they told me upfront before they performed any procedure. They got my Taz feeling all better now and he is doing good.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr Renner has been the greatest vet I’ve had and she’s been a great help in keeping my cats happy and healthy. My youngest cat was acting strange and she helped me get to the bottom of it turns out he had a bladder inflammation that could’ve gotten worse had she not caught it soon enough. I love that they recommended cost effective care and plenty of options and explain everything for you so you know what you’re giving your pet. It’s also nice knowing that they aren’t trying to price gauge you it shows they are mostly for the well being of your pet then how much you pay! I moved to Olympia and still drive out to them to get care from them! 10/10 go here for all pet needs!

Experiencia fantástica: We have 14yr old indoor kitty who is terrified whenever taken out of house for veterinary or grooming past experiences. Horrified, and for days after. Dreaded taking her in, first time visit at Animal Hospital of Parkland. From minute walked in to minute walked out they were AMAZING! Very friendly, kind and gentle. My Lil Girl was treated with love and care, and professionalism, and received shot and xray and we were informed while step of the way. Though obviously not happy outside her comfort zone our kitty was never terrified, never had the big eyes of being scared. When she got home she was happy and for first time no setbacks, no hiding, no terror. And she was given great treatment, issues resolved, we have a strong happy healthy Lil Girl and our fears, as well as hers, are gone. All thanks to the great folks at Animal Hospital of Parkland. How come we can only give 5 stars?!

I knew this state was more than likely more expensive than my previous one. I just wanted a vet who was fair in price, competent and loves animals. I have been in animal care for several years. I know the difference. Parkland went above and beyond. They made my Jasper feel safe and demonstrated competance and care in their craft and the prices were fair. Experiencia fantástica: I have a cat that quarterly will have an abscess on his face. Somehow they always fit him in. Dr Mark does everything to avoid surgery and so far has been very successful. The staff is great and Dr Mark always sweet talks Pepper into cooperation. Thanks again for another great experience.

Experiencia negativa: Have been at this clinic for over 20 years. Brought the kitty for wellness check up with Dr Mark as appt set up but ended up with another Dr. No explanations or so for whatever. Kitty was a little bit aggravated. Dr did not check the kitty as he was afraid to touch her…only comment if her weigh line. I don’t think he was there not even 5 minute. The wellness check is 100 is steep for the service that clinic provided. To answer your responses 1. I scheduled online with Dr Mark Pedersen at the time slot. You can go back to your schedule log and double check 2. As a veterinarian clinic, you see many dogs and cats for procedures. A strange environment, sounds, and smells could trigger the fear in their behaviors. Your Dr and staff would take appropriate steps to control the situation appropriately. 3. I strongly believe your Dr did not perform his duty as checking the overall wellness of my kitty and his service time being inappropriately charged.

My cat has been having tummy and skin issues and has been a real mystery, and it’s amazing to have a vet you can tell genuinely cares and wants to fix her. The prices are very reasonable, they only test for what is needed, and they are super responsive with their email, scheduling, and follow up calls. I’ve been super happy with them since seeing them the last year, and the best vets I’ve seen since moving to Washington!

Experiencia negativa: I. Called to cancel an appointment for my cat. When I was sick with the flu, the girl on the phone was less than professional. So I just told her fine. I'll call back later. This employee at the Parkland Hospital turned around and called animal control and said I was threatening to kill my cat. I could not believe it when I heard the report. This employee is very disturbed and has no business being around animals. In the meantime, stay away from this hospital. There is someone that works there. That is very disturbed and I am in the process of getting an attorney to clear my name, and I would recommend going somewhere else. The the manager of the store Jess.\n Ica conveniently could not remember the girl's name, who made the report This is. Who you're dealing within parkland stay away if you care about your animal.

She is not sure of new people and will growl, and they took sooo much time with her and were not pushy with her in any way. I really appreciated that. My dog is part healer and the vet has a healer so she really understood her. The vet also gave me a choice of options I could do for my dogs ear issue to be able to pick the one I thought would be the least stressful on her. It was a very good experience.

Experiencia negativa: My family and I have been clients of Animal Hospital of Parkland since at least 2004. Under the previous ownership, the care was outstanding—compassionate, thorough, and reasonably priced. Sadly, the current ownership and staff no longer uphold those standards, and I can no longer recommend this facility. While Dr. Mark Peterson remains the one consistently compassionate and competent professional at this clinic, the rest of the team has demonstrated a serious decline in professionalism, communication, and overall quality of care. Most recently, I was prescribed Xanax (Alprazolam) for my 10-year-old, 8-pound cat without any verbal guidance or supporting documentation on how to administer the drug. The label instructed, “1 full tablet every 8 hours.” I followed this exactly, only to watch my cat have a severe, frightening reaction. I genuinely believed she might die. I called the hospital immediately. Instead of being transferred to a veterinarian, I was given advice by a receptionist, who told me to “let her ride it out.” I insisted on speaking with Dr. Ben, the prescribing veterinarian, but was told he was in surgery and would call me back. He never did. Six hours passed. When I called again, I was told all the doctors had gone home and that a message would be left for him the next morning. When Dr. Ben finally returned my call, he casually stated that “1 full tablet” is a normal dose and suggested I “try a 1/4 tablet next time.” He offered no explanation as to why I was not initially advised to start with a lower dose, nor did he acknowledge the gravity of the situation. He even claimed that giving a second full pill would only have a “small chance” of causing an overdose—an extremely risky stance to take with a senior cat. This is not acceptable veterinary care. Additionally, the clinic has become increasingly expensive, and the value of care has not kept pace with the cost. My parents, who have also brought their pets here for decades, have reached the same conclusion. Animal care is about more than just medical treatment—it’s about trust, communication, and responsibility. That trust has been broken. We will be taking our pets elsewhere.

Dr. Renner and staff exceeded expectations, clearly communicated all care options, and were transparent up front about medical costs. I only wish Animal Hospital or Parkland could also treat the human members of my family!

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been bringing my dogs to Animal Hospital of Parkland for over 6 years and I absolutely love this clinic. Appointments have always been easy to schedule and the one time they needed to reschedule due to a family emergency, they still got me in later that same day. Even after moving farther away in 2022, I continue to make the drive because this office is worth it. I’ve heard so many people complain about scheduling issues or high prices at other clinics, but I always recommend Parkland. Prices are rising everywhere, but here I know I’m paying for a quality visit. The vets take their time, often 30 to 45 minutes, explain everything thoroughly, and give my pups time to adjust to the stress of the visit. I never feel rushed or dismissed. I even convinced my mom to bring her senior dog here after raving about how great they are. Over the years my dogs have seen all of the veterinarians at this clinic and each one has been wonderful. The entire staff is friendly, professional, and caring. Thank you to the entire team at Animal Hospital of Parkland for making every visit such a positive experience. Don’t wait until you have a negative experience somewhere else. Go here! :)

I've been seeing them for my cat for over a year now and they have very friendly staff who make an effort to know their patients as well as their owners, and I appreciate how it is also a safe space for LGBTQ+ pet owners.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Renner has been so great to work with in caring for my small dog. She always takes the time to make sure my dog is comfortable. She also always explains to me in details what’s going on and her plan for treatment. I’ve been going to Parkland for more than 2 years. The staff is always friendly and works hard to fit my dog in if she’s sick. When my dog had cancer and was being treated at Summit, Dr. Renner and the staff were very helpful in sharing medical records and determining the course of care once she was in remission. It’s a bit of a drive for me to get to the office, but I do it because I know my dog will be well cared for by people who clearly love animals.

Experiencia fantástica: This year (2025) Penny saw Dr. Ben. Very nice and gave her vaccines. He made suggestions on her losing about a pound. We started that regime Day One. She’s already lost s few ounces. Dr. Mark gave us confidence that Penny would be better soon. Meds were necessary, plus the staff did blood test and exam. Melissa in the front office and Sierra (I think that’s her name), who was the tech, were very kind, helpful and encouraging.

Experiencia negativa: I came in as a first-time pet owner with my new kitten, hoping for guidance and support but sadly, the experience was disappointing. The veterinarian couldn’t tell me what type of cat I have and offered no advice on how to care for a kitten. As someone new to pet ownership, I expected more direction and engagement. What made things even more uncomfortable was the overall energy. I’m a Black woman, and it honestly felt like my presence made some of the staff uneasy almost shy or scared to interact with me. It was subtle, but noticeable, and made the visit feel awkward and unwelcoming. On top of that, I was told the first visit would be free with a $100 booking fee, but I was charged over $200 without a clear breakdown or explanation. The front desk receptionist was the only highlight she was kind and welcoming with a smile. Unfortunately, the overall experience made me feel out of place and unsupported. I won’t be returning.

She’s a highly complex cat. I’ve been extremely impressed and absolutely love the time and wonderful communication that Dr. Renner gives me and my high-maintenance cat. I absolutely love her and the team, and I highly recommend this clinic to others! They are all so compassionate and care about what you and your fur baby’s needs are. They don’t rush your visit. They put your pet’s individual needs first. Just amazing people here and quality of care!

We made an appointment cause he was having some tummy issues, Dr. Ben walked in & Noonie did not bark, he did not growl, Dr. Ben was able to examine him fully (minus his teeth, he still had to where a muzzle just to be safe) Noonie did wonderful!! He did not try to nip, I was so proud of him. Any who with all that said I wanted to come on here and say thank you AHOP for the wonderful environment & wonderful Drs like Dr. Ben.

Experiencia fantástica: TLDR: All in all, this place just feels like a real vet full of people that actually care. This vet has just been good. The people here give real answers, they don't force you to pay for expensive tests before offering options. The appointment times are not super far out. I often can get an appointment within a few days. And the prices have been low compared to some places I have gone.

The vet tech are usually nice but we have had a few snippy ones but the good definitely outweighs the bad. The receptionist doesn’t listen, doesn’t care, or is incompetent. The vet tech Robyn was joke too. There’s better clinics out there.

They advocated to a specialist for us when we couldn't get the appointment in a timely manner. The DR is very friendly and knowledgeable, he shows genuine care for your problems and takes the time to learn your specific circumstance. I trust this vet with the care of all my animals.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been going here for almost 10 years now. First with my senior dog Max and since with my other 2 cats and 2 more dogs. I have never had a bad experience with Dr. Mark. While he's who I usually see with my pets, the other vets have been great too. Not just for smaller routine visits, but with my cats leg amputation when she broke it (7 years ago), my seniors eye removal due to cancer last year, dental cleanings, etc. The only mishap in all this time was missed paperwork in my request for my senior dogs pawprint after his passing. They didnt get it but were very apologetic and did give a discount on my next visit. This was also a one off thing and honest mistake on their end. I have never once felt they pushed for anything unnecessary and their prices are good compared to other places. Highly recommend. Ill continue coming here with my pets for as long as I live in the area.

Experiencia negativa: They were our vet but no more. I would not recommend bringing your pets here. They dropped my kitten. She ended up running to front with people chasing after. Dr.Ben grabbed her scaring her causing her to attack for fear he dropped her yet again. I have always been a dog parent new to kittens. I talked other vet she said she would be able to see us sense she was our dogs vet until he crossed the bridge today I getto find out they couldn't accommodate us on Mondays with her. I ask to cancel or wellness plan to find out they are charging $100 for nothing they claim for care we received they were paid for or visit that day. I will be filing with my bank a complaint. As a pet parent I can not stand behind and place that treats animals this way. The vet never came back in room . And lady today that took my call never said I be charged $100. Stay clear they were told upfront she was born feral yes but was told by receptionist and staff they were able to accommodate us i am writing the review and the stuff below with response is un true I was there when cat was dropped by tech and vet

Experiencia fantástica: I could not POSSIBLY recommend this Vet more! They helped so much when my dog Daffodil was nearing the end. They helped me send her off peacefully and gave me so much more than I was expecting with end of life procedures. The offer a paw print keepsake as well as a lock of hair and the amount of care and empathy that I see from this establishment is overwhelming! If I decide to get another pet in the future, this is where I will bring them.

Experiencia fantástica: My black lab, Nova, is 13 years old, and during his life we have lived in Houston, Austin, Seattle, and Puyallup. It’s safe to say we have visited a plethora of vets over the years. Of all the vets we have visited (ranging from big national chains to local one shop operations) Nova and I agree that AH of Parkland is the best of them all. What makes them the best you ask? The people. They are highly knowledgeable, very personable, compassionate, straight forward and honest. They prioritized Nova’s health, not their profit margins or their pharma providers. They gave us all of our options and helped us navigate the difficult decisions associated with an aging animal. They are very accommodating and supportive. And the pricing is beyond fair. I would recommend them to anyone with an animal they love. Especially Jennifer. She is great! And the front desk ladies are wonderful as well.

Experiencia fantástica: We love Dr Mark. I have been bringing all my babies to see him for 20 years. He is always so kind and caring. Listens to my concerns (I can be a very worrisome mom) and answers my questions. I honestly believe that he cares and wants the best for my animals.

Experiencia fantástica: considering Richie barked the entire time, we were at our appointment Dr. Ben and the vet tech were excellent and patient. Thank you so much for your kindness. I also recently had to return to have my Lulu seen by Dr. Mark and that appointment went smooth and addressed an urgent need that we had . Dr Mark is much appreciated!

Experiencia negativa: Dr Mark misdiagnosed my dog’s ear infections-despite me bringing it to his attention that I thought it was something more serious than what his diagnosis was- and then proceeded to tell me multiple times how rough my dog looked at my visit. He did not make me feel comfortable bringing my dog to his care, I got very judgmental and insensitive vibes from him. My dog has battled chronic allergies most of his life and has undergone extensive treatments throughout but I got no compassion for his situation from this Dr. I spent $550 on this visit just to have to take my dog somewhere else for proper diagnosis now that his condition has worsened. I absolutely will not be going back here. Aside from this I would like to mention that the nurses and front of house staff were very kind and have nothing to do with my negative experience, they were nothing short of great.

Experiencia negativa: Absolutely HORRIBLE!!! Not only were we racially targeted and treated horribly but so was our puppy. Sara , the assistant approached us 15 minutes after our scheduled appointment time to give our dog his shots. When Sara reached out for my dog, I advised he bites and Sara’s response was, “well why would you hand me a dog that bites and without a muzzle? That’s not cool” Mind you, this is the first time we are going through this and having a dog that reacts this way (which is a part of why we were there). We did NOT know even how to put a muzzle on our dog yet Sara walked away, passed us the Muzzle in the lobby then proceeded to take him for shots. Comes back, no paperwork no supports on his shots and I began to express that as a new puppy owner of a dog that bites we did not and do not know the process but had Sara stopped and simply treated us as humans we could have communicated. Sara immediately cut me off while I simply expressing we did not know and began walking away. I asked did I not have an opportunity to communicate again with Sara and that we did not know and Sara refused to speak with us. When we asked for a manager we were told by the front desk that there is no manager so call back on Monday. Sara refused to come back up front and had the front desk give us our papers. As we were leaving, the front desk rep decided to say “Have a great day” while another customer comes in as if it were all a joke to them. When I responded asking for the front desk to pls not make it worse and mentioned this felt racial and was such a horrible experience after waiting and while my dog was so nervous and already worked up, they proceeded to tell me they were Hispanic and replied “oh please” as if this were to make a difference when literally we were there for help and got treated as less than humans while our dog STILL did not get what he needed. I hate this experience for my poor puppy who was so confused as were we and I hate it even more for anyone else who comes in and is a new owner with little knowledge and has melanin in their skin. Needless to say, again if we were treated as humans and had communication been an option, this may have never happened. And our puppy began throwing up in our vehicle after so now I am unsure how to even help him all because, I wasn’t educated or given a chance to get my puppy the help I thought this office could give. Don’t do it!

Experiencia negativa: I took my pet here a few times for vaccines and the staff was friendly enough and everything was just fine. Until one day my cat showed abnormal eating behaviors out of nowhere. We took her to the vet, and they did the basic (checked teeth, stomach, etc.). That was it; no offer of tests or anything. And at the time, I wasn’t sure what kind of tests needed to be done. The vet said she was fine on the outside and most likely maturing, and of course I trusted them because they’re the doctor. Looking back on it, they did seem a little dismissive during the visit as well. Four months later, she goes on a hunger strike and I take her to our other vet for a second opinion. Lo and behold, her liver enzymes were elevated and now that she’s on medication, she’s showing signs of improvement. It just really makes me angry to think that this could have been fixed ages ago. This is my warning.
