Experiencia fantástica: We've been bringing our cats and dogs to Frey Pet Hospital for eleven years now and the services and staff have always been great. Good advice and caring people.

Experiencia negativa: Good service but charges are kinda wild. My experience is in February I brought my cat in to get a wellness exam for some stool problems. A month later I come in to update her vaccines. They get her weight and listen to her heart. Did not take her temp, no tests and then charged me 80$ for another wellness exam. Seemed a little ridiculous. My second concern is at the end of the most recent appointment the person that came in to do my payment walked in the room and immediately grabbed my cat and hugged her. Mind you this person had not interacted with my cat at all in the appointment. Kind of unprofessional in my opinion. I want to preface with the interactions with the first vet tech was very good! No behavior like this, and also the veterinarian was extremely good, and very gentle about giving my cat her vaccines!

Experiencia fantástica: I had an urgent care need for a new rescue cat in my care, and Frey was able to get him seen in fairly short order. They were very caring and patient with him, as he was incredibly fearful at the time. I took him back just recently for a regular checkup and again, they demonstrate a clear love of animals and patience with his fear (he's great at home with me now, but taking him for a vet visit brought him back into total panic mode). Would recommend them in a heartbeat

They always get our pets in right away if there might be an emergency. They treat our pets like family with utmost kindness and respect. The staff are highly professional, the facility is very clean, and the goodbye event for our elderly Boston Terrier was treated with such care, similar to a funeral; The experience was way beyond my expectations. I thought it would be the worst day for our family, but because of Frey, saying goodbye to Sophie was quite beautiful and memorable. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Experiencia fantástica: Our mini schnauzer had a large and growing sarcoma. We were sent to Frey, surgery was scheduled within two weeks, all went well, and she’s recovering well. We are waiting on test results(slow due to the holiday) and removal of stitches. We were very happy with the doctor and the technicians. Everyone was very kind, helpful, and professional. My only concern has todo with communication. We waited hours for a call that never came. We were told a voicemail was left—but we had no voicemails. And then I asked for the receipt to be emailed, and I don’t have that yet. So, something is wrong with the communication system.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Steen and his staff are incredible! We came to Frey for a 2nd opinion for my dogs partially torn CCL and overall health and it was the best decision. We were finally able to get the answers and guidance we needed. It is almost impossible to find a vet that has both knowledge/experience and strong communication and people skills. You can tell this practice is run with care, compassion, and integrity. We will be using Frey for routine pet care from now on.

Experiencia fantástica: I had my young cat de-clawed and used Frey because they do this by laser. Picked my kitty up afterwards and he was just great. Seriously, could not tell anything was done. He was as friendly and playful when he got home as before he left. Staff was great and they called each day with follow-ups. Will have them treat his sister for the same thing next month! Highly recommend!!!

I've heard people say they are too expensive. I'm not going to argue, it isn't cheap, but I will also say you get what you pay for!!! They are very compassionate, and it is obvious they have the best interest of your furry companion(s) at heart.

Experiencia fantástica: We were referred to Frey by our Iowa City vet. Our 15 year old dog had surgery to repair a torn CCL. Frey made the whole experience easy and reassuring. Dr. Steen walked us through the whole process so we could make an informed decision. They also have an app that gives all kinds of information about preparing for surgery, post surgery, day of surgery, etc. We felt very supported through this process, and our dog is doing great. I would recommend Frey Pet Hospital to anyone looking for good surgical care for their dog. Plus, their prices were surprisingly affordable.

The vets here are empathetic, understanding and very knowledgeable. Dixie Reierson , now retired, saved my son's corgis life. And Dr Reierson also helped take care of my cat Ziggy. My current Golden Retriever Barney in my opinion has lived a better life in the last few years due to this business. Dr Kingus is exceptional, thorough and so kind to my Barney. Really cares that he is comfortable and pain free. The front staff is always professional and polite. Wonderful pet hospital!!

Experiencia fantástica: Love the vet. She is amazing with my very scared vocal dog. Others were more scared and labeled as “watch him” the rating is truly because the vet is the best we have had.

Experiencia positiva: I was very irritated at the fact that despite having a separate cat waiting area and a dog waiting area, they were constantly putting dogs into the cats area. If your excuse is “well they have anxiety around other dogs” or “well they’re about to go into their appointment coming from the door in the cats waiting area” that’s not our problem. These dogs were legitimately out of the owners control, I saw one slip off the lead, being loud and obnoxious, cats and owners obviously bothered by it, nothing was addressed. Put the dogs in their waiting area and then bring them to the other side when their appointment is ready. The 20 or so minutes I was waiting there were 4 different dogs that this was done with. I don’t think they would be happy if I sat with my cat in the dogs area so don’t put dogs in the cat area. Simple.

Experiencia fantástica: I have had my pets with Frey Pet Hospital since the early 70"s. I had ten AKC champion dogs..all were cared for by Frey's.

Experiencia fantástica: Our golden had a mast cell tumor. Our regular vet had storm damage this past summer and isn’t able to do surgeries right now. Frey got him in within a week and the care he got from the staff was exceptional! They thoroughly explained his aftercare and helped is carry him to the car. If our regular vet ever closes I would gladly switch to Dr. Reiherd for our dogs’ care.

We believe she lived such a long life, due in large part, to the tremendous care and love from Dr. Ayers and the entire staff at Frey's. Through the many years of multiple cancer surgeries, allergy treatments, ACL repair, and severe arthritis, Dr. Ayers provided the care and answers needed, so Sally could remain a beloved member of our family for so long. On the day we had to say goodbye to Sally, Dr. Ayers and the staff at Frey's showed tremendous love, kindness, and compassion to us and Sally. That day was horribly tough for our family and everyone at Frey's provided us great comfort. My wife, Julie, and I have been going to Frey's for more than 28 years and we will never go anywhere else for the care for our dogs.

We used to love frey but as the years went by and pets got sick/hurt, and the too many times we've left extremely disappointed...we realized this place isn't for us anymore.
