Negative experience: For 600$ they told me the same thing I told them when I brought her in , was told on phone it would cost 55 to get an evaluation done on her instead I spent 520 on an xray bloodwprk she didnt need and another 100 for meds but because I gave them my entire check amd didnt have another 500 they sent her home because 620$ plus tax wasn't enough , these people use the love you have for your dog to hustle you out of your money , she's paralyzed from waist down and she got a 90dollar shot and some antibiotics because I didnt have another 500 to 1000 to give them today I feel some type of way about that

Fantastic experience: My cat has been having issues for years with chronic throw up and we could never get a solid answer and tried so many different things, seen numerous vets. I was referred to Theodore for them to perform a scope on her. I was nervous but they made me feel at ease and were thorough in explaining the process. The Dr called me with their findings so far and the next steps. We finally got an answer and are now on the path to helping her. Unfortunately it’s not something to be cured but at least we know what steps to take now. I’d recommend them to anyone!
Fantastic experience: Our dog had an emergency and they were able to work us in on short notice. Very friendly and professional.
Positive experience: I had no problem with the vet tech that helped me. She was knowledgeable and kind. They got my pup’s procedure done in a reasonable amount of time, and all of the staff were so sweet to my senior dog. I liked the doctor that talked with me afterwards as well. He was very patient, thorough, and also kind. However, reception is highly lacking. We were referral patients. They called me to schedule the appointment while I was at work, which was fine but I couldn’t answer the phone. They left me a voicemail saying we could do a 7/7:30 drop off, but my dog is a senior and I preferred to take him to the appointment and leave when he was done. I asked my husband to call back, but he couldn’t get anyone to answer the phone. Our vet also couldn’t get anyone to answer the phone. I tried again the next day and did get someone on the phone. They said that we could have an 8:30 appointment. Cool. I get a call the night before and reception said it would be a 9am appointment. I said I had agreed to an 8:30 appointment, and they said they’d change it. We arrive the next day, and it takes forever to get his paperwork situated. Apparently they don’t merge the form you fill out + any referral forms into the profile until you arrive. I could clearly hear reception discussing some patient drama, and it felt like they were distracted with that instead of getting people’s paperwork finished. We didn’t get taken back until almost 9:30, and the procedure took 30-45 minutes. I completely missed class, because of the miscommunication and sluggish turnaround times. The tech was understanding and said that she would look into across the board training for reception, but still. I’m a dedicated dog owner who has paid for a lot of vet procedures over the years. I don’t complain about my bill and try not to pester the doctors or staff. I get that we are all just trying to make it. But this experience left a bad taste in my mouth and if we have to use them in the future, I hope things are smoothed out.
Fantastic experience: Surgery for my Yorkie. Dr. Steven was great & I highly recommend anyone needing surgery or any other service for your fur baby to see Dr. Steven first!!
Fantastic experience: I wanted to take the time to share my experience with this vet. I’ve been going to Theodore veterinarian Hospital with my dog for years now. If I was able to give them a 10 star rating I would. They are very good with Phoebe. Phoebe, has battled mouth cancer for years, and her vet Dr. gilson has been so great! With her and he done surgery 3/4 times on her mouth to remove her cancer. Through out the years I’ve been taking her to this vet they have been so friendly, to me and Phoebe. I know I can be annoying sometimes, but they have never once said anything negative about it. They have always been there for me and for my babygirl, they have truly shown me how much they care for my baby, I couldn’t ask for a better vet to take my baby to. I’ve had to contact them more than a couple of times about my baby and they have been so patient with me, I know I’m annoying and really paranoid when it comes to Phoebe but they still have been so so patient with me. I bring Phoebe in to see Dr.Gilson, he really cares about her, he will sit there and listen to your concerns, and take the time to answer any questions you have. If you have videos of the concerns he will watch them and take time to figure out what’s going on with her. She is actually battling mouth cancer, again right now. He is doing everything he can to treat it since he not able to do surgery again. I wanted to say thank you! To everyone that works at this amazing vet and a big thank you! To Dr. gilson for always making sure she is okay! And always listening to any of my concerns I have about her. He is great. I will forever be grateful for this vet. I’m so happy with them. I will suggest all my friends and family to go here.
Fantastic experience: Oh my goodness. Could not like this hospital better. Really helped my cat Henri recover from a fatal disease. Kitty Jack has gone thru some pretty serious vet care as well. The doctors are compassionate and thoughtful. FIP treatment is rare. My kitten Henri was diagnosed with this virus. He will survive it now thanks to them catching it so quickly and knowing the right treatment plan.

Fantastic experience: Had a wonderful experience here with all the staff and Dr Stevens. We came in for a potential tear in our dogs hinds leg, and Dr Stevens was very patient and kind with us. He explained all our options in great detail, and even took the time to show us a model of the leg and what surgery would consist of. Can’t recommend this practice enough!

Fantastic experience: I just wanted to say I would highly recommend Theodore Vet! It is one of the best Veterinarian experiences I’ve had With our dog Rex. We started taking him there as a six-eight week old puppy and have been taking him there ever since. He is now nine months old and they get him in so promptly when he had some stomach issues and we’re very patient and empathetic with what we were going through. They suggested several things that worked and continue to work. The entire staff from the moment you walk in the office to the time that you leave and the veterinarians themselves truly truly care. I even receive phone calls just to check to see how he’s doing and if I have any questions. To me that is an old-fashioned true doctor. Thank you, Theodore veterinarian! Again, highly highly recommend you.
Fantastic experience: This vet saved my dog's life! Dr. Gilson and Dr. Stevenson performed an emergency gallbladder removal on my dog after hours on a Friday night, and it saved my dog. She is one week out from the surgery now and doing well. Were they the cheapest? Probably not. Do I care? No! They went above and beyond, and I am truly grateful for their help! Negative experience: I needed my dog to be treated as a one time patient, my vet was booked for 3 days and it was an emergency They were only concerned about if I owned my home or rented and wanted my ss number as well as my husbands. I pay cash and felt they did not need my personal information. I understand that is the rules, but the evil smirk on the managers face as she was telling me my puppy would not get her meds, without my social security number, was what drew the line. They are more worried about money than they are your pet. My vets office that I normally use, has NEVER HAD MY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER, because I pay cash in full at every visit.

Fantastic experience: Hello everyone I am going to tell you a little bit about my experiences with Theodore veterinary they have taken very good care of all my pets like they were theirs and that means a lot to me cause my pets are my babies and there is nothing I wouldn't do for them and I have had 4 different surgeries with my babies and when l was having financial problems they helped me out so we could get them done and that goes a long way if you have pets. I have been going to them for 8 years now and wouldn't take them nobody else they have the best Dr's like Dr Myers and Dr Gilson both of them have done surgeries on my babies and the other Dr's are great to very professional and knowledgeable and compassionate and the staff and nurses are the best thank you all for taking care of my babies so if you looking for a veterinary they are the ones to take care of your pets and know they will do whatever it takes to treat and do whatever they can do to fix the problem and be assured that they understand your needs and financial situation and will work with you so your pet gets the best treatment for whatever needs to be done . I could go on but don't have enough space but they are the best and want to thank everyone that works there for taking care of all my animals and l have 6 dogs and I cat and they take care of all of them THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart cause I know they are in good hands when they come to you all .

I’m in Florida, but no matter the distance, Charlie still comes here because the care, compassion, and expertise are truly unmatched. When I first brought my sweet Charlie in at the beginning of September, he was weak, skinny, and in need of specialized care. From the very first moment, Dr. Stevens showed genuine compassion—not just for Charlie, but for me as a worried pet parent. Fantastic experience: Our sweet Vader had broke her leg, we were unsure on where to go (her condition worsened later in the day, offices were closing too), called a few offices and was referred here. they helped her that same day :) Best decision we could’ve made! Vader was hurt badly, way worse than we thought - surgery was needed. ( heck we thought she had just dislocated something or hurt her paw) The staff were so kind and helpful. Positive experience: Disappointed. I made an appointment the Friday before for the following Monday. I got there 15 min early and waited patiently for my appointment time. Unfortunately, the puppy had to be put to sleep. But because the appointment ran later than their closing time and I needed to wait on my spouse to come say goodbye, they charged me an after hours fee. I called to question it and was told “sorry for the misunderstanding” when it actually wasn’t ever mentioned at all.

Fantastic experience: Theodore Veterinary Hospital is the only vet clinic I will trust with my fur babies going forward. Dr. Gilson is one of the most kind souls I have ever met and he genuinely cares for his patients. He personally called me on his day off when I had to bring my pup back in a few days after he discharged her. We have also seen Dr. Petcher, who was also amazing, and he was able to aid in getting my pup her diagnosis. I can not recommend this clinic and their staff enough

Fantastic experience: We HIGHLY recommend this office and the entire staff has always been super nice and professional. Our pet has only been here for the last 7 years and has had excellent care at each visit. My husband witnessed this staff go over and beyond in their duties yesterday when he was up at the tag office near by. A pet owner let his pet run off from the office. The pet ran away from his owner up a busy highway and at least 6 staff helped rescue the pet. My husband witnessed the concern they all had for the pet and thankfully this incident had a happy ending. We have absolute trust in the staff and nothing but praise for their actions yesterday!

Negative experience: Do not and I repeat let your dogs come here. I just witnessed with my own eyes them let someone’s dog run out of the building and into the damn highway. And the employee acted like she didn’t give a damn. Although a person who had manager on their shirt and a woman who said she would be doing the scheduled ultrasound for my baby King that day came out to my car as I was leaving (I refused to let my baby get serviced there and got a refund of my deposit and cancelled by ultrasound) to try to explain what happened I felt there was no reason a dog should be able to open a damn door and just run out especially on such a busy road with a canal so close by too. The ultrasound tech tied to make herself a hero I guess by making sure to say she was the one who captured the dog but again this shouldn’t have happened in my opinion. No dog should just be able to run out of a door. Sorry. No excuse for that. And again the employee who let it happened shouted no remorse at all!! I was more emotional about a dog I didn’t know than she was. I was referred here by my vet but I told them I want to go to another place and will never bring my baby here.

We want to clarify that the dog involved in the incident was brought in with a personal leash and harness, which the owner insisted we use—against our usual protocol. Our policy is to always use our own secure leashes to prevent exactly this kind of risk. Unfortunately, in this case, a team member deferred to the owner's strong request, and we deeply regret that choice.
As soon as the dog slipped loose, multiple staff members responded immediately. One of our veterinary technicians was able to safely catch the dog, and thankfully no harm came to the pet. Several clients and even a contractor stepped in to help—something we are truly grateful for. One staff member did sustain an injury while assisting, and we are monitoring her recovery.
We understand how upsetting this must have been to witness. Please know that the safety of every pet in our care is our highest priority, and we have already reviewed the incident with the entire team to reinforce our protocols and ensure this does not happen again.
We regret that this experience caused you to lose confidence in our clinic. We’re proud of our long-standing commitment to patient care and safety, and we hope you’ll reconsider us in the future.

Fantastic experience: My dog had torn her CCL in her right hind leg knee. Theodore vet hospital did a great job on the repair. When they went into her knee, they also found her meniscus was damaged to and fixed it with no extra charge. Dr Stevens was amazing. They provided excellent post-op care as needed. With great instructions for physical therapy for us to make sure our pup has a full recovery. The office can get swamped sometimes, so wait times can be bad here and there, especially for walk-ins/ unexpected appointments. But overall 10/10 experience. We are about to move 8 hours away. If my dog ever needs her other knee worked on as well, we will be taking her back to Theodore Vet Hospital.

Negative experience: I have been boarding my dog here for at least 3-4 years. I was called while on vacation out of the country to be told that my dog had diarrhea which could be from anxiety or something else. I explained to the tech that my dog was perfectly fine when he was brought in to the facility. I was told that if a dog has diarrhea they would need to complete a fecal exam. I told the tech to give it at least a day because it was most likely anxiety because my dog had never been boarded for this extent of time. I was called back on the following day by the tech who explained that a dog with diarrhea would need an exam and a fecal exam to remain housed in the facility. Not one time was I offered anti anxiety treatment for my pet. The fecal exam was completed and was negative for any parasites or infections. The tech said that they would prescribe medication for the diarrhea and a probiotic. I agreed to the medication but not the probiotic because there should have not been anything wrong with my pet at all. Mind you this was not my first incident. Upon picking up my dog there was a charge for the medication, the fecal exam, and a doctor exam. The fees that were charged , in my opinion were unreasonable when I had a healthy dog upon his arrival! The manager “Ashley” was called to the front desk and she proceeded to ask me what the problem was. I explained to her ( with the way she approached me) that I was sure that she was already aware of the concerns that I had. She stated that she could take the prescribed medication off of the bill which amounted to $7 when the front desk clerk provided me with the new amount for my bill. I told her that this had happened before and that the ver had not taken any responsibility for my dog being sick while being boarded. She stated that she was sorry, in which I stated that sorry did not make things right and I had to still pay the bill. Ashley called me rude when she was definitely being sarcastic by repeatedly saying things to me after I asked that she not speak with me any further! She continued to come to the desk to provoke me by stating that she didn’t know why I was getting upset for her just saying she was sorry. I did state over and over that sorry was not going to rectify my bill nor the previous bill that I had to pay concerning my dog and I asked her not to say sorry to me again, which she proceeded to do so anyway. Before today I had never seen this manager before. Ashley was the rudest manager that I have ever encountered in all of my life. Instead of deescalating the situation, she only made things worse. She even told me that I should leave while the front deck clerk tried to provide me with the information regarding the medication that was prescribed for my dog. When I asked to speak with a veterinarian about the medication, I was told that the veterinarian had left for the day. I clearly saw a veterinarian walking in the back. When this was brought to her attention, “Ashley walked to the back, quickly returning, to state that the veterinarian in the back had not seen my dog so he could not speak with me about the medication. I paid my bill, retrieved my dog, and received no information about the medication ( Ashley also stated that the directions were on the bottle). I had to call back to Theodore Veterinary Hospital to ask what time my dog had received his last dose of medication. I said all of this to say that we should be very careful who we entrust our pets to! Theodore Veterinary Hospital you have seen us for the last time!! I will never recommend your facility to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I was visiting the area and my dog got an eye infection, I was able to book an appointment for the same day. Took her in, everyone was so nice they were able to run a scan on her eyes and get me the needed medicine and were reasonable with prices. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: They were the only place that would take our pregnant Lilli and they saved her life. She needed an emergency c-section. They are truly amazing! They are very welcoming when you walk in and have their stuff together. Fantastic experience: I was interested in finding a new veterinarian for our two cats. There was an issue with one of our cats and I chose Theodore Veterinarian Hospital. I called and received an immediate appointment and had a short wait to see one of their many vets. He was kind, thorough, and sensitive to our budget concerns. A member of the staff did a follow up call with me the next day. I’m changing veterinarians after three years for a variety of reasons as mentioned above, but also because of the hours they are open and the availability of veterinarians. I was also pleased to find out their grooming prices were very reasonable. Yes, I will be visiting again!

Positive experience: We relocated back to Mobile two years ago after being in the Seattle area for thirty two years. Working in a veterinary practice for the past eighteen of those years and knowing and trusting my staff with my fur babies gave me much anxiety leaving not knowing who I would be entrusting them to. My fears were put to rest my first time I walked into Theodore Vet. The front staff are busy but warm and friendly and attend to your every need. We see Dr. Gilson and we and our pets love him and Courtney. Our 4.5lb chihuahua Belle likes no one but loves them. Recently our kitty who is older was in need of being seen. I called and no problem. No appt available but I coul bring her right in and drop her off and they would take care of her. This is really a love and care hospital. Love You all and so do Belle and ❤️❤️

Fantastic experience: By far the absolute BEST Care In the Mobile Area, I am from New York, and when my Precious Dog need compassionate care, not just care, this was the Very Best Veterinary Hospital I could have ever ended up at for my beloved K-9. The staff was Most helpful and attentive and Dr. Ian Gilson was Absolutely The Best, having a high anxiety dog makes Vet Visits near impossible, but this was seamless compassion to not just me but moreover My Girl. Ultimately she does have cancer, the surgery in a most difficult place of the leg healed as if nothing had ever been done, The huge mass was removed and we have a Humane Corse of Action when and if things arise. Again, I could not give a Higher Recommendation of this Hospital to anyone if I had to. Platinum Care All The Way! I have experienced a few other Vets, some very high end. The care and facility and staff were the Best! Be assured you will receive the very best care possible in the Mobile Area at this facility!

Negative experience: Very disappointed and heartbroken. I took my dog there because her stomach was swollen . Little did I know she would never walk out there fine . They did a bunch of tests . Said her spleen needed to be taken out . 3500 surgery . They said if we open her up and see it’s cancerous we will not do the surgery . Well they took her spleen out and after about a week of staying at the vet they said she is eating if she’s hand fed . She has dihharea but that’s normal after a surgery like this . So after all this I went to pick her up to come home . She was half dead when they sent her home . Layed in same spot only got up to go pee and could barely walk to the grass and back inside . Had nasty dihharea . Wouldn’t eat . Come to find out they didn’t even have her on any pain medicine !!! So after being home about four days slowly dying I had to come to the decision to let her cross the rainbow bridge . Please don’t let these scam artists get your money . I’m so heartbroken

Fantastic experience: I wouldn't trust anyone else with my baby. Dr. Stevens, Dr. Crider and Abby are absolutely the best. I have a vert special needs cat, and these folks have gone above and beyond to give him the healthiest and full life possible. When others told me I might, I would need to "put him down. ".... Negative experience: Avoid this clinic at all costs! I've been taking my dogs to Theodore for about 8 months now. We visit monthly for injections and other services, always with an appointment, yet we consistently wait 30-45 minutes to be seen. The reception is clueless about what's happening in the office. Aside from this, our most recent experience with this clinic is beyond horrifying - We took one of our dogs (Gemma) in for surgery to remove a bothersome lump. She ended up having a terrible post-op recovery after this surgery, shockingly the clinic actually called to check after her surgery (I was floored by this given my previous interactions with staff). I explained what was going on and we decided to give it one more day and then bring her back if she still was having a rough time (they said some times dogs can have adverse reactions to ISO (anesthetic) - not in my experience, with this or any other dog, but ok - they're supposed to be the experts). She was still not better the next day and I called the right away. I explained she is still having issues & I was very concerned with her gum color being pale (I have previous experience in animal hospitals and I am no doctor but know that is serious). I took her back in for more testing, I was told everything looks good (gums look fine) and sometimes this just happens (again, never in my experience does this just happen after a surgery). Gemma continued to have a hard recovery, but did get better, eventually (we never received another call from Theodore to check on her progress). We took her back a few weeks later for her routine injection and when we did I asked specifically about her weight (as she had this terrible recovery & had lost some weight with that). The receptionist said well they didn't write it down, to which I responded well can you ask? Eventually I got the weight information & asked reception, is that less then when she was here a few weeks ago? The receptionist callously responded back to this question with, well its good for her to lose weight because of her joints. I was floored by this - first of all a receptionist should NEVER say anything about my concerns for my pet, she is NOT credentialed to do so. All she should ask is if she should raise those concerns to the doctor. I looked at her and just said well she had that terrible surgery recovery and we are keeping tabs (I also thought how do you all still not know us or our pets? We are here all the time!). She said nothing back to me and did not offer to ask her doctor either. When I left there I vowed to never return- it was clear they did not care about Gemma. Another few weeks passed & Gemma continued to have issues, so we took her to another vet where she was diagnosed with cancer, this was the problem all along. I understand things can get missed but the fact that I raised multiple concerns about her color & weight loss and was told by Theodore that her color is fine and weight loss is good for her joints when Gemma had cancer, in multiple areas of her body, it was heartbreaking - how could this be, we took her in and she was given a clean bill of health by Theodore. I called Theodore when I got the news, I explained I wanted to tell the doctor about how reception brushed my concerns off (so it does not happen to anyone else in the future - they clearly need more training) and discuss her last visit. I wanted to see if we were missing anything to do to keep her comfortable & possibly get a time table on things. I wanted to speak to her doctor to get information about what we did know, since all the recent testing was there - that's it. I called multiple times and left multiple messages for Dr. Stevens (messages left with Whitney). I never received a call back. Sadly, Gemma's condition worsened, and we had to put her down about a week and a half later. This clinic clearly prioritizes neither patient health nor client relations. Avoid at all costs!

Negative experience: I am so upset by the service received. I took my baby there for a 1st time visit. I was concerned because she had a upset tummy. no vomiting no diarrhea. a vet tech came in the room took my baby left me sitting in the room 45+ min, returned with the vet. A bunch of test ran was given a bunch of drugs non of which i approved nor was i offered options. I never seen and injections and i did not approve them. The vet was inching himself out the door made me feel he was in a hurry. I then was handed a bill $353.66. One of the injections was over $70 dollars I was billed for yet never seen I also would not have approved this. How can you take someones pet into a room never discuss what treatment was being done never get cost approval. but yet hand someone a outrageous bill. I will never return nor will i ever send anyone to the clinic. Extremely unprofessional I care deeply for my pet. and this service should be more informative, I feel ripped off and not even sure if my pet received the services I was billed. As everything was done behind closed doors. I was told blood work was done. yet i never received a copy of this. Never again!

Negative experience: I asked about my cats heart a year ago and they refused to check her heart saying that’s not the issue and last week it was the issue and they made me put her down. These people should rot. Don’t take a cat here if you want them to stay alive. I am looking at these reviews and see they have a habit of defending themselves. February 2023 i brought in my cat open mouth breathing and i was panicking thinking it was her heart. Carl Meyers said no she’s stressing herself out over allergies. For a year that’s what i thought. I took her back when she did it again a year later. Now suddenly he knows immediately it’s her heart. Now she’s in heart failure and I can’t take her back home she HAS to die? I don’t know how he would sleep at night knowing a year prior he looked me in my face and said that it’s unnecessary and it’s definitely allergies. She’s dead. I hope he reads this because YOU SIR need to CARE about animals even if they’re cats and not dogs. I would’ve paid any amount of money to help her and you wouldn’t even do a chest x ray until you knew she was FULLY DYING. Her name was Suzuki.

Fantastic experience: I have taken my pets to Theodore Veterinary Hospital for many years and have always received the very best of care. Over the years, various pets have required not only routine health care, but some have been treated for serious issues and surgeries. Dr. Myers is extremely knowledgeable, caring and up-to-date on the latest procedures. He has also equipped the hospital with the latest technology. I'm convinced that his thoroughness and medical expertise have extended the life span of my dogs. He is a great vet and a wonderful person. Additionally, the vet technicians are friendly and skillful, and they always treat the animals gently and with affection. The office staff is pleasant, helpful and efficient. Obviously, I have nothing but good things to say about Theodore Veterinary Hospital and highly recommend the practice.

Fantastic experience: This was my first time coming to this vet and it was by referral. They have a loving and caring staff. The surgeon and docs are super friendly and walk you through everything. Leaving my Jax there for a procedure plus the way the staff cared kept me at ease for two days. They also handle emergencies really well. I was there to witness it and after the issue was taken in they resumed business as usual. 100% recommend this vet if you are from Theodore.

Fantastic experience: Just had another great experience. Staff is friendly. We got in and out. I live in Baldwin county and make the drive. This is not the first good experience. Previously, another vet wanted to do surgery. We took her to Dr. Myers only to find out the other vet had missed diagnosed our dog. On another visit with a different dog he saved her life. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with our pups.

Fantastic experience: My dog Sinbad stopped eating and drinking and was throwing up. I took him to one vet that diagnosed a blockage but they couldnt do the surgery. I contacted Emily Askew at Theodore Vet Hosp and told her what was going on and she told me to come in. When I got there they took him to the back and started the surgery, Dr Gilson, performed the surgery and called me within an hour after dropping him off telling me that he was doing good. Kaitlin called me later that night to let me know that he was resting comfortably and she was staying with him all night. The next morning Dr. Gilson called me to give an update and I went to pick him up, Emily assisted me in getting him checked out and she also provided phenominal advice and information throughtout the whole ordeal. Thank you Theodore Vet for taking great care of my boy throughtout. I appreciate it.

Fantastic experience: Would like to thank DVM Carl Myers and the entire staff at Theodore Veterinary Hospital for taking great care of our Tessa. A special thanks to Anna who spent the night with Tessa after the surgery. She was diagnosed with a bowel obstruction and had to have surgery to remove. They allowed us to visit her during recovery and kept us posted throughout the day on her progress. They have continued to follow up even though she is home and doing amazing! Thank you!!

Fantastic experience: If I could give more then 5 stars I would, my cat was not keeping food down after two days called my regular vet and they told me no way they could see him today and they are closed the next day. Couldn’t believe I was been told this called Theodore Vet and they said bring him and we will see him asap. The care and love they had for my cat and he had never been there ever was outstanding. I am now and will be forever a customer with Theodore Vet. Thank you to Dr.Stevens and his Vet tech Abby for the outstanding care!

Positive experience: The Doctors and staff are the reason why my dog Alfie is alive today. I tried every one I possibly could ask and I was turned away with my friend in my arms dying from a pit bull attack and he's a palm/ Chiu. Even med vet didn't do a thing except say $175 just to be seen. Then threw me and Alfie off property cause I was trying to get him help after calling the cops. Fantastic experience: My dog Alfie was attacked by a pitbull and nearly killed him. I tried everywhere and everyone in the phone book to help me and Alfie and he was in very bad pain with a hole in his neck and rip and his mouth and his jaw was broke down the middle. I even tried med vet and they wouldn't even look at him without $175 and I was down to no help,no money,and my best friend is most likely going to die without help so I sat at med vet for a little to see ifl someone would help him. But instead had security come throw me out parking lot and called the cops. The next day,somehow , I came across Theadore Vetinary Hospital, and they welcomed Alfie and me like we were family and regulars but never seen us before. The staff was so nice and made Alfie feel comfortable and they not only saved his life,but they seen we were in a tough time and that I loved Alfie so they handed me a receipt that said I owed a balance of $0. The visit , x rays, bandaged him up, anti biotics, pain pills, all was $0. Thank you Theadore Vetinary Hospital for saving my best friend Alfie.

Fantastic experience: Theodore Veterinary Hospital is absolutely amazing with animals. They have never let me down. The flea stop is awesome too. You can get any size tube you need for about $10. My puppy had an emergency and they got him in quickly and worked with me on a payment arrangement. Highly recommended vet clinic!

Fantastic experience: If you have a pet with a serious injury this is by far the vet to take them to. I have an 8 year old American Bulldog that had a severe tear in his knee. My vet recommended that I contact Dr. Myers. They got us in to look at Niko in two days. After the xrays we determined that he needed surgery. I knew that he had another injury in his other knee when he was younger. It was never right but he was able to use it somewhat without pain. Dr. Myers told us that he needed both knees repaired to accomplish his proper mobility. He was very thorough of what steps we were going to take and explained the surgery and rehab. Being a little older I knew it was going to be rough on my boy. So we did both knees at one time. Well after surgery Niko had some issues with his back and things were not looking good on his recovery. Dr Myers asked that I leave him there for them to work with him. Dr. Myers was very concerned and I could tell that him and his team would do everything in their power to get him moving again. I was updated daily on his progress. It was slow but there was smalls steps every day. After two weeks with his team I was told to bring him home with detailed rehab exercises and meds. Well three months later he is not only walking he is trotting around like his old self. You can tell he feels likea young pup again. Long story I know but its hard to put into words the care and the knowledge of Dr Myers and his staff. The true and thoughtful care along with the expertise is what makes them tops in this field. Trully thankful.

Fantastic experience: After my long time small animal veterinarian moved to another state, I stopped into Theodore Vet. Dr. Gilson is a gem. Staff are outstanding. It’s a busy place but the service and friendliness are top notch and I know my small animals are getting the best care!

Negative experience: took my cat in and vet alleged she was a 'cat handler' then scruffed my sick cat and was obviously afraid of my pet i'd had since he was 5wks old; would not allow me to see any treatment being done and alleged that he 'crashed' - i allege they killed him, he was sick and i allege they did something that made his illness worse; i was there for THREE friking hours with a sick cat 2hours and 45 min of waiting.... they gave me my pet back, deceased; alleged they tried to revive him and charged me for it of course. i have NO idea what they did, they would not allow me to even see him being weighed. the place is nothing but a money money money place they don't care. **i've NO IDEA what you're talking about, that was not my date of service and I think that vet isn't there anymore, however it is WRONG to just take an animal into another room for treatment, even a vaccination, w/out the owner present.
I’m so sorry that you lost your kitty. It is always tough to lose someone that loves you unconditionally. It is also painful for us to lose a patient, it’s our wish that every pet leave here healthy and happy. It can be stressful for a cat to be removed from its home and taken someplace else.
I reviewed the case and I see that your kitty was checked in as a Walk-In at 2:45pm. Because the kitty was not responsive it was taken back immediately and treatment started at 2:48pm. After getting the kitty stabilized the doctor consulted with you at 2:56pm in the exam room where he explained the grave situation. He went over some of the tests he wanted to run and reviewed the prices with you. He offered for you to wait in the lobby or you could leave and we would call when we knew more about what was going on. You left your number with him and left the hospital at 3:20pm.
You returned to the hospital at 3:57pm. The doctor talked with you in the exam room at 4:15pm. The doctor went over the tests with you and explained that it would be best to humanely euthanize. He also explained that it would be just a matter of time before she passed. You agreed that euthanasia was the right thing. He left the room to bring you the kitty in order to spend time with her before euthanasia.
He immediately returned to the room to inform you that your kitty passed on her own. He again left the room and brought her to you. He then discussed your concerns about the risks with having multiple cats in a home with the conditions he suspected. At 4:45pm the staff prepared your kitty to be taken home for you to bury.
Negative experience: Original review 2018; The best vets, providing the best care, at one of the best equipped facilities in the area. From wellness visits, to grave circumstances, your pet will be treated as if they were their own. All are profession, from the front desk, to the back door.

Negative experience: This place used to be good a few years ago but has went down hill a lot. The vet walked in long enough to show his face, didn’t ask if I had any questions, and left. The vet tech seemed to be scared of my large dog although he is well behaved. Definitely won’t bring my pets back here

Fantastic experience: I called Theodore Veterinary Office on Wednesday morning March 8 at 7:30 in the morning. We were vacationing from Wisconsin with our 14 1/2 year old dog. He had congestive heart failure for 2 years, cataracts in both eyes and had little hearing. His health starting failing quickly. We had hoped he could make it til we got home. After a miserable night, we decided to call here because we knew it was his time to go to doggie heaven. We could not let him suffer any longer. They let us bring our little Rambo in at 9:00 the same day. I was in tears on the phone. Everyone there was so helpful and compassionate. Thank you for making a sad time bearable.

Positive experience: Ive taken my dogs here since they was 6 weeks old and today I decided to bring him to get a bath and get his nails grinded. They said he'd should be ready by 11 we got there at 11:20 they brought him out and he was still super wet and once we got him in the car he definitely did not smell like he usually does at the other groomer he still had a dirty dog smell for $54 my dog should have smelt better and been dry. If your animals need shots I recommend them but definitely not for a bath
I am sorry that the bath did not meet up to your expectations. Husky's coats are very heavy and it takes hours to completely dry. We would gladly bathe him again and we could allow additional time for drying. The bath price is $24.40 which includes brushing out and nail trim. The nail grind takes more time and cost $29.00. I'll make a note on your account that you were not completely satisfied and the next bath ($24.40) at no charge. Thank you for the compliment about our veterinarians.

Fantastic experience: Our dog got deathly ill from HGE while we were visiting the Mobile area. We were able to get a same day appointment and the vet and staff did a great job diagnosing his illness, treating him, and ultimately sending our guy home happy and health. Fantastic experience: Thanks for taking good care of my baby. :) A+ rating I scheduled a last-minute appointment, and we got in the next day. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They did a thorough exam and clearly communicated what was going on with my pup and what steps I needed to take going forward. We were in and out in less than an hour with prescription meds in hand. The doc even provided feedback on my dog's overall health just from a visual standpoint. I highly recommend patronizing this business.

Negative experience: Had a Emergency called for Emergency care a hour before closing. They would not let me come in. Wanted me come next day. May dog would have died before next day. Went to med care and they took care of us and saved my dogs life. They don’t care about your dogs health. Just the money. Would not suggest using them. They have no compassion for your pet. So avoid using them.
We are pleased to hear that you were able to get the care your dog needed. It is almost a daily occurrence that our staff is here well into the night taking care of patients. We have to have a work life balance and not neglect our families.
Veterinarians have the highest professional suicide rate in the country. Negative attacks brings additional stress to the staff that they don't deserve. You cannot be in this field and not have a love for animals. Veterinary medicine is a tireless, criticized, underpaid field, but we do it for the animals. Fantastic experience: Exceptional Doctors, Vet Tech's & Receptionists . Everyone is so nice and friendly everytime I got in,makes u feel very welcomed . Me & my family have been taking all of our pets here for 10+ years and this clinic had even brought my Pug back to life after a fatal reaction to anesthesia during surgery that stopped his heart & shutdown his respiratory system.I can't say enough Great things about the staff at Theodore Veterinary Clinic. Fantastic experience: This is not our regular Veterinary office but our dog was referred here due to her need for oxygen treatment. The staff were very good to our girl. Kimberley, Gail, Jesse, and Dr. Gilson were phenomenal in such a difficult time for our family. We felt comfortable there like we had been coming here for years. Fantastic experience: Today we had to make a hard to decision for our fur baby..From the the first phone call for the appt I was very happy with this office! I spoke with Gale? I think.. who was so sweet in getting us in today and wanted to make sure we didn’t have to wait long. By the time we got there they were able to get us right back into a room. Dr Gilson explained how everything would be done. His bed side manner was very professional . He and his assistant were so patient, compassionate and respectful to us. I was so happy that we weren’t made to feel like just another appt in their day. Thank you so very much to the Theodore Vet from the bottom of hearts!

Negative experience: I will NEVER go back. Do NOT bring your animal here. When I made my appointment over the phone I was relieved to talk with a sweet lady who was understanding and said I could drop my dog off to be seen as soon as possible. He has multiple ulcers that haven't gone away in weeks and is expressing his glands multiple times a day. (My vet whom I love had to cancel our appointment unexpectedly due to an illness.) However, I arrived at 7:30 when they opened and left at 8:15. I filled out new patient paperwork but multiple animals that arrived after me were taken back and their owners dealt with. I received a call around 11 from a woman who did not identify herself or explain until I asked for an update. She said no ulcers were found and some dogs just overexpress. I could pick him up when I was ready..... I arrived around12:45 and was promptly checked out. On the bill I noticed a gland expression transaction.. When I asked whether they did the expression she said yes. However, that is not what the "update" was in my earlier phone call. I asked if that's why he was leaking and she couldn't be bothered to answer me and saw the next guest. She called for my dog to go home..... minutes go by and the back called the front desk to ask about my dog. I hear the conversation about his name, his coloring, that he was brought in that morning, that Paige was the last one to have him... She hangs up and says, "They're having trouble locating him. Someone took him out and didn't record where they put him back." Another 5 minutes go by and there is a shift change. A new woman asks if I'm there to pick up. I say yes, also I am the only person in the lobby. She calls the back to bring my dog up.... after a few minutes she calls again, "Anyone going to bring the dog up?" Every time the door opens I look for my dog. Instead a woman leaves to get snow cones. She proceeds to eat the snow cone up front with the other ladies. The woman calls to the back again for my dog to be brought up. A woman appears and says she doesn't know where he is. "It shows Paige was the last to have him, ask her." She comes back up front. "Are you going to bring him up front?" The woman from the back says he is in a specific kennel. Which from her eye roll and attitude sounded like it was out of her role and responsibility. Thankfully the woman up front tells her to go get him, the owner is here and has been waiting too long, and he needs to go home. After 35 minutes my dog is brought to me. No one says a word to me. I looked at the front desk to give a courteous nod but they all kept their heads down and I walked out the door. HOW DO YOU LOSE A DOG?!!!!!! WHY DID MULTIPLE CALLS HAVE TO BE MADE??? All I could think listening to all this was that they lost my dog, he escaped, or they gave him to the wrong person... Not only did he NOT RECEIVE the proper care, they LOST him. His ulcers are still there and I am working to find another vet who will take the time to look at them and give him the attention he needs.

I am so sorry to hear that your first experience at our office was less than desirable. I hope Abner is doing better. It appears that you came in to pick Abner up during our lunch breaks. At this time, we have half of our staff taking their lunch break. Some of our staff will remain on premises and have their lunch and snacks here. Sometimes they might leave the break room with their drink or in this case their snow cone. I have already discussed that we should remain in the breakroom with our food and drink. It would be ideal for the staff if we closed the doors during lunch break, but we remain open for the convenience of our clients. Upon looking further, I see that Dr Elstner and Paige (Dr Elstner’s Pet Nurse) was on their lunch breaks when you arrived. Even though the front desk staff should have communicated to you that Dr Elstner and Paige were not here and we will have someone else bring Abner up.
According to our records, Dr Elstner examined Abner and could not find any ulcers. She even had another one of our veterinarians examine Abner and he didn’t see any ulcers either. Ideally it is best to examine the pet with the client present so they can better explain what their concerns are. It is rare that we are not booked up with appointments, because of this we allow clients to drop off their pets so we can examine them as time permits. If Abner is still having issues, we will gladly have one of our veterinarians examine him again at no charge.
I am sorry that we did not meet your expectations on your very first visit. It sounds like you have a veterinarian that you are happy with, but we will gladly be here if you need us. Feel free to call anytime.

Negative experience: I wouldn’t trust this place with roadkill! They boarded our dog, removed cysts, and neutered him. I called to ask how it went and they told me great. 4 days later, I picked him up and the vet called to tell me surgery didn’t go well and I had to bring him back. Then I was enlightened on all kinds of complications. The front desk never knows who’s animals are who’s. Once we went to pick him up and the lady told my husband he has already been picked up. We were charged for a grooming but the service wasn’t complete. I went back later to get him groomed and they were persistent on charging us again. The front desk never knows up from down. They don’t take notes, their scheduling is terrible. I felt so bad leaving my dog and trusting them with his care.
I can't see where a client by the name of Magan Ladner has visited our clinic. Please provide more information so we can look into this further
