Fantastic experience: I just moved to this area. I had a wonderful vet in Colorado and was worried about getting a new vet in Wisconsin. I was delighted with the care and the friendly vets that took care of my dogs. Definately 5 stars.

Fantastic experience: I had a concern about a urinary problem my dog was having the night before. Even though the symptoms seemed resolved by morning I wanted to take her in because she has chronic kidney disease. I am a regular client but my dog’s vet was not available. I was able to get an appointment with another doctor right away. She had an exam which didn’t reveal any abnormalities. The vet offered a prescription for antibiotics, but we decided to wait and watch for any return of symptoms. If necessary I can just call back to pick up antibiotics.

Fantastic experience: I've always had great experiences here. The vets take the time to talk about issues, I never feel rushed. They are kind and knowledgeable. Most importantly, I trust their judgement. They really care about animal welfare.

Fantastic experience: We chose Lakeside after having bad experiences at another vet. Unfortunately we only had one visit with Lakeside because we had to put our dog down. The care and kindness shown to us that day was incredible. Dr. Neitzke was compassionate and listened to our concerns and gave an informative yet gentle and caring evaluation. The vet tech and even receptionists all were so kind and gave us so much space and time to say goodbye to our sweet girl. Privacy but not alone through it all. I highly recommend this vet and wish we would have found them sooner.

Fantastic experience: I just wanted to thank the staff here. I had only brought my cat in to this vet once before; fast forward almost a year later, she got into a fight with my girlfriend's cat that recently moved in. Unfortunately, it meant my cat Lilith would need surgery. I called them and told them she had a cut, and I got the bleeding to stop and within an hour, They were able to see Lilith. When they told me she needed surgery, I broke down ugly crying in front of the staff as they told me she might have to stay overnight. The thought of Lilith and I being separated was truly hard for me. I got Lilith when I was going through a dark time in my life, and she became my best friend. The staff here got her in and out of surgery the same day, and I was able to be there for her recovery every step of the way and take her home same day, which truly meant the world to me. All I wanted was to be able to show Lilith the love and care she had shown me in my darkest times and be there for her. I was able to do that because of the wonderful staff here. Lilith has made a fully recovery and the staff was here for me and Lilith that day. Thank you all from Lilith and I!

Fantastic experience: We moved the care of our Golden Retriever to Lakeside and am happy we did. Friendly staff and Dr Stencel was excellent and very knowledgeable. No one tried to get us do a bunch of expensive testing which was the problem at the last vet we used.

Fantastic experience: I've been going here since 1996. Two of my three dogs had medical issues beyond the normal. The diagnostics, concern, and treatment were all above average. Dealing with near end of life on my 2nd dog and current staff couldn't be more concerned and caring. Sept 2025.

Fantastic experience: I took my dog in because of severe itching and licking. She was given a shot (to be repeated every 6-8 weeks) and for the first time her scratching and licking decreased significantly (by 90% for licking and 98% for scratching). I am hoping we finally have the right way to help her, as. Have been dealing with this for over a ear with her.

Dr Martinez did an exam and blood work, recommended slightly different diet plan. Received a call today letting us know lab values are all normal! Negative experience: Sharing with all of you our experience yesterday regarding Lakeside Animal Hospital, where we’ve taken our pets for years. We recognized our almost 9 year old cat, was having trouble urinating and was very lethargic. I called to see if we could quickly get him in to see a vet. I was told they were booked until the afternoon and to call around to some animal ERs. I was quickly dismissed and started calling other places. Many were booked with long wait times so I called Lakeside again to see if there was any way they could get him. Again, the woman’s response was “I mean, did you call other places? We can’t really make room for you, and he probably needs to be hospitalized, which we don’t do.” Um, your name is Lakeside Animal Hospital. She went on to say, “we haven’t seen Dipper for a while so it doesn’t matter if he comes here. We’d need his medical history, so it doesn’t matter - he can really just go anywhere. Look for someplace else. There are other places in Milwaukee. Good luck.” I hung up and we did. We got him out to WPCA in Grafton and waited to be seen. And when they went to sedate him to insert a catheter, he went into cardiac arrest and died. Do I think Lakeside could have saved him? Probably not. But did our vet leave us out in the cold at a time we desperately needed them? Yes, they did. Therefore, they will never see another one of our animals. The lesson for all is find a vet who actually cares for your animals and you. And btw, Lakeside, change your name. If you’re not a hospital, don’t claim to be one.

Fantastic experience: Needed a blood draw for heartworm testing. Chose a 1:00 time with a vet tech and it was the most serene and unhurried appointment we've ever had. If you need simple vet tech services, I recommend looking at the quiet time after lunch. Especially for those pets who may react to other clients, this is definitely the way to go. BTW: had our results emailed to us that afternoon. Thanks, Lakeside!

Negative experience: I've been bringing my pets to this location for 15 years and in the past I would have given 5+ stars, but something has changed. I took my dog here recently and the vet and vet techs were cold and didn't even try to engage my dog. I'm used to them being warm and comforting my pets so it's not a stressful environment, but there was NONE of that. I did not see them pet my dog once before taking him back to be examined without me present . I did hear my dog yipping in the back and I was told they needed to use a muzzle. In my opinion, their lack of warmth or contact with him stressed him out and then expected him to be calm when they gave him a vaccine. I'm sorry, but that's unacceptable. If it was just the vet, I'd see a different provider there, but since every employee I came in contact with there was the same, I'll be going somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: I have been a client of the Dr's at Lakeside Animal hospital for years. I cannot say enough good things about the Dr's and staff. Exceptional!

Fantastic experience: I brought in my new puppy to Lakeside for her first checkup and the staff and protocols made the experience a great one. Masks and distancing are required. The staff were friendly and helpful. The service was compassionate and thorough. They made puppy feel as comfortable as possible. I strongly suggest any pet owner in the area to visit Lakeside Animal Hospital.

Fantastic experience: A huge thank you to Dr. Stencel and the staff at Lakeside Animal Hospital for their compassion as we made the heart-breaking decision to put down our dog, Otto. They were patient with us, informative and so caring as they guided us through the experience. They even sent a very sweet condolence card. I really believe that everyone I have met there truly cares about animals and their owners.

Positive experience: We have Dr. Martinez as the doctor of our furry kids Darwin first, then Lily since 2003. She has always been so thorough with her examinations and always very clear in her explanations. This is why we still have her as Lily's vet although we moved to Chicago, and drove all the way from there. On the other hand, I have never had a good experience with the staff at the front desk. The older staff member there is very rude, she has a non-welcoming attitude. When we were leaving, we were in a hurry to drive back to Chicago and she and the other staff members were discussing their breaks or something while I was waiting there. Then the other two left and she pretended like I was not there waiting, she started to have a personal chat with another customer who walked in while I was waiting for the trios chat to end and be taken care of. After 10 - 15 min of wait there to pay, I finally interrupted her conversation with the other customer and told her that I needed to make my payment and asked her to help me.

Positive experience: The staff were caring and seemed knowledgeable but I feel I was sold a lot more "product" than necessary, especially as I said cost was an issue.

Fantastic experience: We’ve brought our cats to Lakeside for 6 years, and my family has brought their dogs here for decades. They are incredibly kind and caring, scheduling is a breeze, and prices are fair. We’ve seen almost every vet here at some point (our cats have a regular vet in the Lakeside office but sometimes see someone different for urgent visits/emergencies), and they are all excellent.

Fantastic experience: We always get first-class treatment for our cat(s) at Lakeside Animal Hospital. Our various cats have been patients there for a total of about 28 years. Dr Kowitz and the other veterinarians are--without fail--insightful, patient, unhurried, responsive to concerns, and compassionate. Although our cats arrive at the clinic in a nervous state, they are calmed by the gentle handling. Thank you to all the staff at Lakeside Animal Hospital in Glendale!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Martinez is an excellent vet. She worked well with my fearful cat making the visit more comfortable for both of us. Staff is pleasant and efficient. Surroundings were clean and comfortable. Effort was made to help me get some basic labs but still keep the price in my range. Great visit

Negative experience: Very expensive and they just raised their prices again. I feel like every time I come here the vets just pile on as many things as possible and your bill is astronomical. If the care was great I wouldn’t mind so much but the only doctor we like for our cat is Dr. Stencel but unfortunately she is not there often. The front desk always seems to go through a lot of turnover and is unfriendly and disorganized. When I asked to speak with my cats vet regarding his health they would hot accommodate this. I’ll be changing vets. I’m sure some have good experiences here but there are many other vet clinics around so I will find one that meets my families needs better and handles things in a more professional and polite manner.

The vet tech was very informative about the reason for my scheduled appointment. He offer good information about oral care for my dog. Doctor Kowitz was very thorough exam and recommendations. Negative experience: A "yearly checkup" consists of the vet's qualified professional opinion that my three year old dog has gained about 4 pounds from last year and therefore it is overweight and needs to go on a diet. The monetary cost of knowing this information is surprisingly high

Fantastic experience: We have been bringing our cats to Doctor Christine Stencel for years. She is wonderful, especially with our shy and special needs cats. She recently joined Lakeside Animal Hospital. We recently brought one of our cats there to see her. Everyone in the office was very nice and they were able to get our cat in for an ultrasound quickly (not a service that all vet offices provide). We appreciate their care and compassion.

Fantastic experience: I have been taking my cats for 16 years and have never been disappointed. Whether the visit involved routine exams or surgery or even end of life care, the vets and techs and receptionists have been insightful, careful, and empathetic. Dr. Martinez is excellent.

Fantastic experience: I had my dog spayed last week and the vet and tech called me twice before and after the procedure to keep me fill in. I really appreciated this as I was super nervous. I felt like they took great care of my pup and me, so I can’t say enough good things!

Fantastic experience: Every time I've been to Lakeside with Frank and Beans, it's been a great experience! Everyone is so nice and helpful. Frank also loves the treats he gets after his check-up. Beans (a cat) feels safe. She only gets upset with the car rides, which is understandable and my fault.

Fantastic experience: My family has been taking our fur friends to Lakeside for decades! Now my cat, Harley, had blood taken before dental work. Dr. Kowitz called to let me know that the blood work was fine and we’re all set to go for the dental work. He could have had a receptionist or tech call me, but he didn’t. I appreciate that personal care!

Fantastic experience: My dog suddenly fell ill. I had taken him to emergency care and had a follow up appointment scheduled with our regular vet at Lakeside. He was not taking in fluids and was very lethargic. Lakeside let me bring him in for IV fluids and ran a blood panel so the results would be ready for his appointment the following day. The IV fluids really made a difference and my family was very grateful.

Fantastic experience: Very helpful and understanding—able to accommodate the need for an appointment at short notice. Thorough evaluation of my dog’s condition, with a plan for treatment. Very patient with my many questions.
