Eastern Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Center: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Great caring place to take your pet, they we’re very patient and caring and their prices are awesome
Fantastic experience: Dr. Tracy is the absolute best!!!! He saved our baby girl and we are forever grateful!!
Fantastic experience: 5 ⭐️Stars Experience! I wish for such Animal Hospital in every state. Quick diagnosis and professional help. Caring staff makes painful experience soothing. Surgery was done within one hour of our emergency arrival. Thank you Dr Heather Regan
Positive experience: We used this Center for the first time last week after our dog was vomiting for three days and would not eat. The Vet did a very thorough work up of our pet, performed necessary tests and gave us thorough explanations of what our dog needed. We were sent home with very thorough discharge instructions and medications. We followed the instructions and our dog made a complete recovery within a week. The only drawback is that the waiting time can be fairly long because it is an emergency Center that doesn’t take appointments. Overall, we spent about 4 1/2 hours there which wasn’t too bad considering the testing and treatments that our dog needed. The other drawback is that, like most veterinary care, it is very pricey. Be sure to take lots of cash or a credit card when you visit. Overall, we were very pleased with the care our dog received and recommend this center to anyone who has a pet emergency.
Negative experience: My dog has a medical emergency and has to have a tooth pulled and a tumor removed that is doubling in size in a few day. My vet gave me a referral and that it needs to be done ASAP. They told me they can't see him for a month. My dog will be dead by then. That is not 24/7 service
Fantastic experience: Clean environment, and courteous support staff. During my appointment both Julia and Dr. Ferguson took their time to fully understand my cat’s situation. They were very thorough, compassionate, and professional. I highly recommend them.
Fantastic experience: Fast, friendly and knowledgeable service from all staff :) they really took great care of my pet. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Fantastic experience: We’ve been going to EPVMC since they opened up Neurology with Dr. Tracy. The hospital has highly qualified Emergency Care and Specialty doctors. Lehigh Valley is very lucky to have EPVMC.
Fantastic experience: After 2 vets looking and trying to figure out my dog's eye problem and 8 mths of suffering I had a 3 mth wait to see Dr Landis but was well worth the wait within a month his eye looks 50 percent better and still on the upswing and seems much more comfortable. I just wish my first vet didn't waste so much time so I left and second vet knew I needed a specialist and sent me in the right direction. Thank you DR Landis for helping my 4 legged angel
Fantastic experience: We were absolutely convinced we were going to lose our little girl fur baby when we came in and within an hour of being there we knew that we were in phenomenal hands and that she was not going to pass on us anytime soon! The staff was exemplary it was incredibly clean everybody was beyond friendly and caring I wish I could make them my primary vet except I love my actual vet at the current veterinarian office we use. I love the facility and the care staff was phenomenal, we were at ease quickly during a scary time. A++
Fantastic experience: Dr. Was very knowledgeable and caring. I was seeing the neurologist for my cat that is blind. Dr also gave a full examination and was able to answer questions I had. I’m feeling very confident and trust taking my cat Priscilla there.
Fantastic experience: If our family could give a 500 star review to Eastern Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Center we would. Our beloved family member Ripken suddenly became critically ill. He was hospitalized at EPVMC for 10 days. Dr. Karlin Erk , Dr. Lindsey Graham, Dr. Gaemia Tracy and Dr. Heather Regan and the nursing staff were absolutely AMAZING!! They demonstrated exceptional care and compassion for not only our senior greyhound but also for our family. Ripken was able to return to the comfort of his home for an additional 13 days before his passing. We are so blessed and grateful for the additional time that we were given with our beloved Ripken. If you do not have pet insurance, PLEASE consider investing in this. We were very fortunate to have insurance and therefore were able to make decisions that were not based on a financial hardship. No regrets. Jordan Skrapits and family
Fantastic experience: We have used Eastern PA for years from a cut leg to cut paw (both needing stitches ) to pneumonia (with the oxygen chamber when that deadly flu virus was killing dogs) over the years with our dogs - nothing but INCREDIBLE veterinary care! So knowledgeable and kind and friendly! Great doctors! I highly recommend Eastern PA!
Negative experience: Facts first, then feelings. The facts: From arrival to finish, I was in the office for 8.5 hours. I was told wait time would roughly be 2-3 hours. I was charged over $900 to run a blood panel and a urine, to ultimately not even end up with a diagnosis. And sent home with literature and prescriptions that “could help” and “could be the issue”. If you’re planning to leave the building to get food during your extended stay, they require a 50% down payment for all services tied to your estimate. The feelings: It would’ve been nice to know I would’ve been in the office for over 8 hours prior to driving over an hour to this place. It’s extremely wrong to tell any pet parent , who’s already in an uncomfortable situation and leaving their animal with you , that you need to pay half the bill before leaving the building. Where is the compassion? I will absolutely let everyone I can know to read the recent reviews and take your animal anywhere else. What a shame.
Fantastic experience: I brought my kitty Schmoopi in on 2/7/26, she was immediately treated. She had a 105 fever & had a UTI. She could not even stand on her own. Dr. Paul & staff took care of her so well, i'm sure she would have died that day if not taken care of. If i lived closer i would bring her here as my regular VET. I can't Thank You enough for saving her life.
Fantastic experience: Every single staff member was friendly, caring, compassionate and understanding. Facility was modern and well maintained. There was no push in making a decision. There was no upfront fee before even being seen. It was clear the priority was the well-being of the pets! I will be sending friends and coworkers in need for their beloved pets your way. And if the need should arise there’s no hesitation I will be back!
Positive experience: Neurologist Doctor Graham was respectful. Our little Girl Candy Scottish Terrier 14 years old the night before was on the end. We were asked by another vet to bring her here. As she had progressed over night, when arriving she was tired and Doctor was able to do exam. Our little girl is doing much better, after coming home and taking a fresh bath from the prior night of being sick. Sincerely appreciate the help.
Fantastic experience: During a crisis or emergency, contacting support resources is critical. The staff at Eastern PA Vet Med Center answered the phone quickly, without long hold times or upfront prerecorded self-ads. The clinicians and staff welcomed and efficiently processed us through intake and subsequent care. They were both human and animal-centered. Sterile/clean environment.
Negative experience: We took our dog here, yes so nice. The charge just to walk in the door is $155.00 Compassion costs you here and they will compassionately help you spend your money on what you really need to do for your loving friend just like here. My dog Jack I was told was well received not to much attention to those who just never bark or make noise. Jack was there for well over 7 hours and was not given any fluids nothing under the derma or by IV especially when vomiting. He didn’t attempt to drink anything for another 2 days just let that sink in. I guess that’s why we weren’t taking back to see him. I now don’t have the financial resources to help him because the antibiotics not even a full dose not even a 5 day supply for him this is my bill. Compassion costs money these days and remember it also costs money to end your best friend’s misery if I were you make sure you know what’s going on in the back. He had some pre surgical testing done I wish I had that report but I can only assume they didn’t think I’d be needing it. I’m so disappointed that Dr. Reagan couldn’t even supply Jack with a full week of antibiotics that I got off my Dr to complete for Jack. Yes Doxycycline will treat him the same way and for only $3.75 I suggest you do that Ask Questions now I have to go pay for my monthly rapping they so carefully help you arrange to get that extra money for them to go that extra mile and help you spend it when they go down the list of what you can afford to do to help your friend, of course they’ll help you spend it wisely.. just try and get in touch with the vet who told you need to keep him on the antibiotics till the surgery and can’t get back in touch with Dr. Reagan but then I guess she knew that but omitted informing us of that. “I was told just bring him back!” I’ll be leaving reviews on Yelp Also. Dr. Reagan Jack needs an extension on his Antibiotics can you help him Nah you’ll never get that message not till I send you another $155
Negative experience: I was directed to this ER by my veterinarian. Come to find out my dog has chronic liver disease. The drop off process and the treatment process and his overnight stay were great. The vet called me or the nurses called me. They gave me great updates. They were very communicative. It was easy to get in contact with them. I felt OK with them dealing with my dog hence why they have a two stars. Where they failed was a discharge. I was under the impression that they would talk with me since this is a chronic condition, I would be into a room. They would talk to me about all the medications he was on which is over 10 and how I would deal with his condition and risks and all that. That did not happen. They did the discharge in the lobby with someone who didn’t know the medication he was on didn’t know my dog and wasn’t that competent in what she was talking about. The directions for the medication are confusing and don’t make sense. I called back to complain and they brushed me off and wouldn’t let me talk to a nurse or anyone. All they would do is take a message for the Vet on-call. When I demanded to talk to the veterinarian that was dealing with my dog, apparently she no longer works there. I can’t get in contact with a nurse who had my dog while he was staying there. I can’t get any answers. Now I’m obviously not saying that my dog is sick because of them, but I’m definitely saying that his end of life care has made it tremendously worse by them. I will never go back to them, and I will never recommend them.
Fantastic experience: The doctor was amazing and provided options for my dog’s care. She wasn’t rushed and even consulted with the other doctors to make sure the treatment was appropriate. Would definitely recommend and use their services again if needed.
Fantastic experience: If something is going on with your pet , this is the place that you want to bring your pet to. The love that they have for these animals is incredible. I love, how they explain everything to you?And everybody works with each other so well. You will not regret bringing your pet to Eastern Veterinarian Medical Center.
Fantastic experience: Allentown veterinary medical center took good care of shadow n find out what was wrong with her what other could never found her back side of her brain half inflammation n n i start her with steroid to reduce inflammation
Fantastic experience: If I could give them more stars I would!! The staff there are very nice and compassionate. Even with a long wait time due to them being busy because of the storm they still made my dog feel like a priority. They were very upfront about their prices and for being an emergency vet center I felt the price for my dogs emergency procedure was reasonable. Highly recommend for anyone needing emergency veterinary care.
Fantastic experience: I took the drive from LI to PA for a neurology consult with Dr. Graham for my pug, Pickles. Prior to the visit I had been emailing with them on multiple occasions. Every email was answered promptly, and the responses were extremely helpful and informative. I emailed once right before the weekend with a question, and someone responded to let me know they left a message with the Neurology team and someone would respond back after the weekend. Monday early afternoon I got an email back from Neurology! Communication is 10/10. Our appointment was for 12pm and we were seen on time. The consult with Dr. Graham was great. She came in and sat on the floor with Pickles and examined her. Her exam was thorough and she spoke to us about different options. She didn't pressure us into doing anything extra, or making us feel bad for not opting to do an MRI. She had Pickles best interest in mind and it truly felt like the next steps were a collaborative decision between us and Dr. Graham. I recommend anyone from out of state reading this who needs a Neurology consult to take the trip!
Fantastic experience: The care team was awesome. Attentive, warm, communicative, and reassuring during a very scary and uncertain time for us. They took great care of our dog and got her back to us as quickly as possible without sacrificing her safety. We couldn’t be more grateful.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful staff and facilities! The doctors and clinicians were very supportive and answered all our questions. I would recommend them to anyone!!
Fantastic experience: Our Cat's vitals were immediately checked and I was advised that there is an approx 4-5 hours wait. If wanted to go to another hospital or wait. I decided to go home Once home Mr Chap bounced back was extremely happy to be out of jail and back in his Kingdom. I owed nothing....
Fantastic experience: I Highly recommend Eastern Pa Veterinarian Medical Center. The staff and the doctor were phenomenal and very informative and gentle with our dog Riley
Positive experience: Thank you for you service the husky Nala is doing better. She brightened up after 3 days just like you said after being on antibiotics. Regarding Bella...Thank you for your compassion as we made the difficult decision to put her down. She was 14 yrs old
Fantastic experience: The staff there is amazing. Doctor Tracey saved our dog Kolby’s life. The nurses in the back who cared for our dog pre and post operation did absolutely wonderful job. Everyone was over caring for our dog, they treated him like he was there dog. We could not ask for a better staff to care and treat our Kolby.
Negative experience: Had I known how the night would have went I NEVER would have brought my animal here. I advise anyone who loves their animal to not get treatment here. My cat was attacked by my dog, and her eye and mouth was bleeding. I showed up at 3 am, doctor took my cat back at 4, 4:30 doctor comes back and says they have to sedate her to see if her eye was okay, and to make sure her jaw wasn’t broken. 7:30 I rang the bell and they told me they still haven’t gotten to her. 9:30 I go in and talk to the receptionist (who was the only one to seem to take me seriously and understand my concern) she brings out the tech. They let me sit for five hours, not knowing if my cat could see or if her jaw was broken. AND YET TO TOUCH HER. after getting pissed off in the lobby, magically my cat is done 30 minutes later. The doctor on the phone also informs me on the phone that they overdosed my cat, but narcanned her and then jokingly said “don’t worry, we won’t charge you for that” What the hell kind of place is this?
Fantastic experience: The staff showed great care, respect and compassion during end of life care of my sweet cat. Very respectful environment.
Fantastic experience: Eastern PA Veterinary Medical Center is very clean and convenient. The staff at the front desk are friendly and responsive. The technicians are very nice and professional. Dr. Rosenheck is great. She listens to concerns, explains the options, develops a plan, and provides experienced, professional care. Coco is doing great, and I follow Dr. Rosenheck’s advice to get Coco back to 110%.
Fantastic experience: The front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming. Dr. Tracy was amazing and wonderful and it was a pleasure to meet with him. Rachel, who helped Dr. Tracy, was also great! We are so glad we took the time to consult with Dr. Tracy and we’re glad to be under his care. Thank you to everyone!
Fantastic experience: Treated very well. Took great care of Lily. Plenty of people on staff to take care of our visit. Very friendly people.
Fantastic experience: Everyone was very friendly and attentive to details. I felt like my cat got good treatment and she responded well to the medicine we took home with us. Very thorough and professional.
Fantastic experience: All the doctors, technicians and all others have been very compassionate of my situation with my kitty. It was a serious issue and they took very good care of him. I felt comfortable calling any time with concerns and I was kept informed everyday, usually 2 times a day.
Negative experience: Absolutely.Horrible. Experience. I can’t be the only one that loves their pets, but isn’t rich? We get there to the emergency room approx. 11 PM. We leave around 4 AM, with no answers. My dog was having some kind of seizure/stroke episode, spent over $1K on tests and what not to try to figure it out because I’m desperate. Was told he could be this, he could be that, but no guarantees. Specifically mentions a “Grade 2” heart murmur. Suggests that we send a video of the next episode if it happens again and that they’ll suggest something further. I send a video of another episode the very next day (approx. 4 PM). I get an answer at nearly 10 PM that my dog needs to go to a cardiologist right away. Me being concerned, but yet knows how much I can and can’t afford, calls the cardiologist right away. “We can’t give a clear answer, unless the emergency vet that you were seen at calls us doctor to doctor to formulate a treatment plan.” I then call Eastern and ask them to PLEASE get this information to the cardiologist ASAP. After all, they told me that this was an “urgent” matter and that I should go right away. I go back and forth with them and this cardiologist for maybe 4-5 calls (now going on midnight) only to find out that no one ever called the cardiologist (the now next day). They only had time to send an email with the summary of the visit. Are you kidding me? Do some research, only to find out that there’s an affiliation between Eastern and said cardiologist (that remains unmentioned because they weren’t actually the problem here). We go to our family vet for a follow up, second opinion, only to find out that our vet seems to think that our dog has a GRADE 6 MURMUR and that he’s essentially going to die of this either way. So, the best course of action is to give him meds and let him enjoy his life. They still suggest a cardiologist but tell us that it’s completely up to us to make that call without ANY pressure. Now….. To those that care about your pets like they’re your children, I highly suggest you do your research prior to even considering such an establishment.
Fantastic experience: The providers were really good and considerate with the care for my dog. He went in severally ill and they moved fast to make sure they find out what was wrong and what steps to take to help him. They found the problem and helped me get him the treatment he desperately needed
Fantastic experience: Very kind and compassionate staff. They take their time explaining what’s going on and provide you with all the options. They took great care of my dog who had to stay overnight with them. Although I HOPE I never need their services again, they will be my go-to vet should I have another pet emergency.
Negative experience: Called and asked for appt and we were told to call ahead the day we would be going down for emergency visit (told them we live 1 1/2 hours away) - called the day we were going down for prearranged visit and told them we would arrive in approx 1 1/2 hr. We were greeted when we arrived but nothing else. We sat in waiting room for 2 1/2 hours, nobody came out to wait on us or update as to how much longer of a wait, so we went to desk to let them know we are leaving. Honestly thought we would have gotten a call to either apologize for the inconvenience or schedule future appt. Nothing. Customers went in & out of the office while we sat there, very disappointed
Fantastic experience: Great Experience the two times we have had to go there, once as an emergency and once as a scheduled appt. Love everyone there and highly recommend them! :) our boys before and after photos! :) <3
Fantastic experience: We picked up our dog from boarding/daycare and she ended up vomiting three separate times in the span of two hours. We called this facility and with the given information they recommended we come in. The staff was so warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in. They informed us of our options for our clover and we chose an outpatient recovery with anti nausea meds and fluids. They were so informative and helpful and I’m so glad it wasn’t something more critical, I’m glad to know we have such an amazing facility so close should we need them again!
Negative experience: My niece and nephew went here last week when their dog was suffering from throwing up and lethargic behavior. From the moment they arrived, the staff kept them in the dark. They quickly took their puppy back and then proceeded to leave them waiting for hours, with minimal updates. When trying to figure out the cause for the concerning symptoms, they seemed to be very delayed in their care. They only took a blood test after waiting on hold with Poison Control several times, resulting in hours of time that their puppy was suffering with no care. While we understand that they are not responsible for the freak accident that happened, there was barely any information relayed. Once their puppy was finally sedated, they gave them a positive update. However, this was then followed with a lady coming to the room to let them know their puppy's respiratory system was failing and their only options were to send him to another hospital better equipped to handle the emergency with no guarantee of improvement or to give him a peaceful passing. When they chose to unfortunately have their puppy put down, the first question out of the staff's mouth was "Would you like to take care of payment before or after?". While these two, young individuals were coming to terms that their 6-month-old puppy was not coming home, the biggest concern of the staff was whether they were going to get their money or not. Then as they are crying and getting ready for their puppy to be brought into the room, another lady comes in and says "I am so sorry..." then proceeds to pull a card reader out from behind her back. The lack of empathy and compassion on top of the lack of transparency was a complete shock to me when my niece finally was able to tell me about her experience at this place. Again, while I understand that they cannot fix every emergency situation and that these types of services cost money regardless of the outcome; You would think that professionals who deal with these sorts of situations would also display some level of compassion that would allow a grieving moment to trump a paid invoice. I pray no other pet owners have to deal with such disrespect during such an intimate moment.
Fantastic experience: From my initial phone call to check out, I was met with concerned, compassionate staff. They were very thorough and checked in with me every step of the way. They provided pricing and asked for consent before proceeding. For my baby, the outcome was not good, and we have to move on to a major research hospital, I feel the doctors at Eastern did a great job and were pretty amazing. They researched the issue and identified the problem.
Fantastic experience: Everyone we interacted with was amazing. I knew my big dog was in excellent hands. They kept us informed and made sure we knew what to expect every step of the way.
Negative experience: 7:30pm. We came quickly as my poor yorkie was vomiting blood. The wait was 3 to 4 hrs. It was almost 11pm. Never gotten seen yet. A girl came out saying they were there for 4 hours?! So in addition to us they were there for 7hrs and hadn't gotten their pet seen. I asked how the wait was. No clear answer. They said they see clients based on severity. My dog was vomiting blood and thats not severe enough??? Another dog was constantly heaving like he couldnt breathe or was gonna puke any second. Poor baby was left unseen and was there before us as well, waiting for so long. I couldnt take it. Im getting an appt somewhere else and getting possibly cheaper treatment he needed to get seen. People were lucky I was exhausted after a while workday at 11pm or else I would've argued. I had no energy.
Fantastic experience: Staff was very compassionate and caring to me and my sick puppy! I was seen right away! Dr was very nice and took time for the questions I had for him! I was seen right away and knew my puppy would be ok!!
Negative experience: Wanted $4500 for a hospital stay to treat pancreatitis. Neglected to tell us our dog was in stage 3 kidney failure and dying. Neglected to tell us anything about dialysis or the possibility of euthanasia. All around had their head up their asses and it’s very clear we got their worst people the day we were there. Sent blood tests in on our way there, never reviewed by anyone. Had to show “Doctor” Heather Regan the test results on my phone, after 3 seconds of looking at it, went into a 15 min TED talk about these newly FDA approved drugs for pancreatitis that are expensive but have been used in SE Asia for 10+ years. Our primary vet was very disappointed with the performance of this office after reviewing our visit notes.
Fantastic experience: We came into Eastern PA with an emergency situation. A fishing hook in my dog’s mouth and the other end in my thumb. It’s was a horrendous situation that I never expected myself to be in. Everyone at Eastern PA was amazing. Quickly took us back to cut the hook connecting us. They were understanding, (which I’m sure was hard in such a wild situation) compassionate and caring. They took care of my little puppy while I went to the ER to get the remaining hook out of my finger. They were kind when I called constantly for updates and communicated with a worried me so well. Nothing but amazing things to say about the angels that helped me and my Blu! Thank you, I will forever be grateful!
Negative experience: Waited 2 1/2 hours at the emergency vet on a Sunday, employees did not move with a purpose. Went to back room for 15 minutes and then waited another hour for medications. Front desk employees were nice, but this place needs more veterinarians in the back and move with a purpose. Prices are crazy as expected. Definitely didn’t expect blood work to cost $500 alone
Fantastic experience: Fast and very responsive. Answered all of our questions when ever we needed them to do so. Explained everything step by step and gave updates daily about our dog. We are hoping for a great outcome when we pick him up. Thank you to all of the staff at the hospital for a great job done. You saved our boy!!
Fantastic experience: The entire staff are very caring, sympathetic, and kind. The most professional Vet Medical Center in the Lehigh Valley. Thank you for caring for my Harley and for me. God Bless.
Fantastic experience: I brought My pup in for cherry eye surgery. They explained everything in detail and they took very good care of him.
Fantastic experience: Dr Tracy is very thorough and makes me feel like I have all the time I need to discuss Chester. He is warm and engaging and truly compassionate for pets and their families. The office staff and the Vet Techs are all equally compassionate and all do a fantastic job with every detail. I am always confident Chester is getting the best possible care. Thanks, All!
Fantastic experience: From the front desk staff to the nurses to the doctors - there is professionalism and true caring. There is no emergency/specialty vet in the area that compares. I am grateful for the care they have given my animals over the years.
Fantastic experience: The staff at Eastern PA Veterinary Medical Center demonstrated exceptional professionalism from the very first interaction. I initially called after hours, only to discover—much to my surprise and appreciation—that they operate 24 hours a day. That level of accessibility is remarkable in itself, but what truly stood out was the unwavering courtesy, competence, and care shown throughout the entire experience. This organization sets a high standard for veterinary excellence.
Fantastic experience: We have been here twice now due to our cats health issues. Both times we have had professional care. They give explanations for everything. I hope people don't need to go here but if you do I believe that they will treat you and your pet properly.
Fantastic experience: After an emergency accidental poisoning of my dog, the staff showed kindness and support to us. I appreciated their support and the thoroughness of doctors; their communication to me and their availability for questions.
Negative experience: First time reviewing anything. Worst experience i have ever had at the vet. They charged 3,000. Yes 3 thousand dollars to unblock a cats bladder. They will present you with different options based on price and tell you they are all fine options and will work just fine, only that the expensive option comes with all the unnecessary bells and whistles. So when the cheaper option fails you are forced to now pay them for the premium. When we expressed that 3 thousand dollars is alot to drop on a cat, they offered to just put him down. A vet with a good consciousness would not kill an animal because it has a clogged urethra and cannot pee. Easily the most disgusting vet practice i have ever been to.
Fantastic experience: At the recommendation of our local Vet Emergency Clinic based on our 8 month old yellow lab's neurological symptoms, we traveled 2 hours to Eastern PA Vet Med Center. From our initial (panicked) phone call to our arrival to our successful discharge hours later, we were treated with complete compassion, care, communication, and professionalism. From the moment we arrived we knew we made the right decison. Nurses, veterinarians and Neuro-Vet were top notch - the best you could possibly expect. We wouldn't go anywhere else.
Fantastic experience: Our cat would highly recommend the care that he received at this clinic. He is home resting pain-free right now. Everyone was incredibly kind and accommodating. If needed, we will definitely return.
Fantastic experience: Brought Cooper in for Dental consultation. The news was not good, but the nurse and Dr were, knowledgeable, caring, compassionate, and honest. I thank them both for that.
Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough about the staff and doctors at Eastern. They were amazing! My boy Tank came in last Saturday with a bad infection following having half of his lower jaw removed at another hospital. They quickly got him on antibiotics and steroids and got the swelling infection under control. Just this past Thursday they took him back to the operating room and revised his original incision. We brought him home this past Saturday and he is doing amazing, knock on wood! A+++++ Hospital. A big shoutout to Dr. Sembler for the amazing work that she did. There was no postop, swelling or bleeding. The boy looks amazing!I definitely recommend!
Fantastic experience: Eastern Pennsylvania Medical Center was recommended to me by my vet when I came from work to find my dog not walking. We have used their ER, neurology, and ER again for euthanasia. With every interaction all the staff members were incredibly kind and very knowledgeable. Dr. Graham, with Neurology, was amazing. Dr. Graham kept her word with being by our side during Major’s end of life care. All phone calls were returned promptly and medications were always refilled. The staff who assisted us when we brought Major in for euthanasia were so very kind and patient. The process was explained to us and it was done on our time, no one rushed us. I can’t say enough great things about this medical center.
Fantastic experience: The people that work there are very professional and pleasant. The doctor was understanding, knowledgeable, compassionate. I can’t thank them enough for the fast office visit.
Negative experience: This is an owner/management issue only. This has nothing to do with the care they provide to your furry loved ones. Staff, I am sorry! I just drove ten miles to your place at 3am only to find (what appeared to be) an empty building. Well, at least visibly from all front windows. “Ring the bell” on the door? There is no bell. Was their big (red lettered) building sign on? No. Signage at parking lot entrance visible? No. There the pathetic building sat, no movement inside, in a dimly lit parking lot. My home has more illumination! Even the security guards at the business two buildings adjacent didn’t know of an emergency animal hospital being near by. Why? Because you absolutely CANNOT SEE IT FROM THE ROAD in a dark commercial/business park at night. That is not very helpful in an emergency situation! When a pet is involved and a frantic owner is in the mix, it’s just not right. My dog is fine. I’m just pissed. You may have wonderful staff and be an excellent hospital, but you can’t get great emergency care when you can’t find the damn hospital building.
Fantastic experience: I want to thank you for taking such wonderful care of my puppy, Champ! It’s clear how much love and attention you gave him. He came home happy, healthy, and full of energy. I truly appreciate your kindness, communication, and the way you treated Champ like one of your own. I couldn’t have asked for better care — highly recommend to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring for their pet!
Fantastic experience: Everyone I dealt with was kind, compassionate and professional and truly cared about achieving positive outcomes for all of the pets that were there that night. They did a great job treating and getting my dog back healthy again. This was the second time in two years that they saved my dog.
Fantastic experience: Every single person I interacted with was so kind and patient. I just knew that Waylon was in the best care for his surgery!
Positive experience: my dog had all of sudden couldn't walk, eat nothing seemed to have some kind of neurological issue took him in he stayed 2 nights they treated him awesome hand fed him which let me know he trused them he doesn't take anything from anyone so that part was awesome had a mri and a spinal tap done to find out the cause results came in on 11/3/25 @ 8:18 am its now 11/6/25 2:13pm and i called twice still waiting on a call back which yeah Im pissed I paid to find out and fix my dog yet no one has called me back communication isn't the greatest it seems but the over all care for my boy was excellent
Fantastic experience: Staff was friendly. Did not have long waiting times. Dr Landis was friendly and obviously super knowledgeable and explained everything that was going on with Oscar and how it impacted him. I would definitely recommend Eastern and Dr Landis to anyone who needs a specialist.
Fantastic experience: We drove from Danville to bring our golden retriever puppy, Max, to be seen for a broken tibia. I can't say enough great things about this facility! The other vets we saw were heavily pushing surgery. But as we found out with the orthopedic specialist, surgery was not needed. They patched him up quickly and he's doing great! We will definitely be back.
Fantastic experience: I truly appreciate the kindness of every person i interact with here - from the person who checked my pup and i in, to the vet nurse to the cardiologist.
Negative experience: Surgeon was great and informative but the day after she was home from the surgery no contact from anyone to see how she’s doing or even any concern at all after paying thousands of dollars from X-ray to cat scans and the surgery
Fantastic experience: Caring and amazing professional! Love them and they really know what they are doing! Took amazing care of my baby
Fantastic experience: If there is an emergency, this place is for you. Very attentive staff and they are upfront about everything. Communication is vital and they do so throughout the process. Clean facility, excellent care and great caring staff.
Positive experience: Very helpful and caring. I guess my dog was much more sick than we all thought. They did their best. Offered medicine when we couldn't afford to do the full procedure. They did whatever they could to help us with options. She died soon after however.... Still, they are very caring and informative. I do wish there was something for the pain as she died very uncomfortable. As stressful as it is. You all did your best.
Fantastic experience: We were treated very kindly and professionally. Dr. Erk was absolutely wonderful. He spoke to us with compassion explaining the ultrasound results.
Positive experience: Our dog became sleepy and barely able to move over night so we drove an hour to take him here. The care and compassion was wonderful and once we were in they listened to our concerns and how we thought it was possible Lymes and even brought in a possible bill before doing any testing to make sure we were okay with everything that they needed to do. The testing and medication was fairly priced. The only down side was the agonizing wait to get back into a room. It took us 4 hours to be seen. But as an ER vet at night i also understood the wait.
Negative experience: While I’m on vacation in China, my dog had bloat and was taken here by my friend who was looking after him. I was quoted 4K-7K for the surgery. 7K if he needed extra care and longer surgery. (I was approved for Cherry (Klarna for vet bills) so I could pay remotely. My friend took care of communication with the hospital since I was in a different country (with 12hr time difference). 2 days later he was allowed to go home, my friend picked him up. She said she had asked for their hospital’s finance person to call her back to discuss the bill (turns out it was 6K total) since thrroughout his stay my friend was told he’s doing well which should be on the lower end of the spectrum. I received a missed phone call (can’t pick up because I’m in China and phone calls were $2/minute) while I was sleeping from the vet so I had texted my friend to call and ask if that was the finance person. After that I asked my friend every couple of days (while on vacation) if she’s heard from the vet, and she had said no. When I came back and picked up my dog from my friend she had told me she returned the missed call and was told someone would call her back and did not. That day I also received an email from Beth inquiring about how my dog was doing and about settling the bill which then I called immediately. I asked to speak to Beth but ended up being basically accused of skipping out on my bill by their hospital administrator. I tried to explain that we (my friend and I) were under the impression that the finance person was suppose to call my friend back but she wouldn’t listen and basically went on a speech about how she has to pay her staff and that I should have paid at pick up. When I inquired if there was a discount if my dog doesn’t have insurance (as there are with human medicine) she then went on a tangent about how you have to have insurance before things happen and whatever. I’m not stupid I know what insurance is for, I did not appreciate this kind of treatment. If it was up to me I will NEVER go here again. Not to mention after spending 6K they STILL left a staple in my dog. Luckily I’m a nurse so I just took it out myself with a staple remover. If I left a staple in someone post op I’d lose my license but apparently it’s different if you leave a staple in a dog.
Fantastic experience: It's a comfort knowing there's a facility we can go to in an emergency that's open 24/7. And reasonably priced. The staff we dealt with at Eastern Pa Vet Med Center was excellent.
Fantastic experience: The professionalism, attentiveness, friendliness and care of the doctor and staff. They were really great, helpful and sympathetic to Coco's situation that gave me the confidence to stay strong. I am very grateful and thankful.
Fantastic experience: I’m very impressed with your facility. Mogwai was assessed within 10 minutes of my arrival. all staff were caring, compassionate, and friendly. Wishing you would open another location in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area. There are so many people that you can help in this area! I would never hesitate coming to your facility again in my time of need for any of my kitties.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Sleeper was very friendly. Dr Sleeper was very thorough in her explanation what was done to our Babele. Also the staff was Very professional and friendly
Fantastic experience: Staff were all incredibly kind and competent. The process of getting my dog through registration to quick care was clear and straightforward. I am very grateful for this facility and recommend it to everyone with pets.
Positive experience: People were very careful and considerate about caring for my pet. However wait times to see someone, schedule surgery. Or get pet released were very long. They would be excellent if they could cut those times to be more efficient!
Fantastic experience: Took our recently adopted cat Arnold to see Dr. Landis for a couple of major eye problems. Waiting area was clean and staff was friendly and courteous. Coffee and snack amenities were a nice touch. We were seen in a timely manner. Both Dr. Landis and her nurse were friendly and professional, and were gentle and attentive with Arnold. Diagnostics were performed on the spot, and we were able to schedule a needed surgery before we left. A+ all around.
Fantastic experience: Our dog absolutely loves Dr. Landis- lets her take stitches out without sedatives, when she requires meds to relax before any other vet visit. We recently had to take her to Eastern Pa for an emergency, comprehensive ultrasound, and surgery (3 visits) and the vets were so compassionate and patient- no matter how busy they were. They took great care of our beloved dog and gave us some extra time with her., which we are forever grateful for.
Fantastic experience: We had to send our best boy over the rainbow bridge after a three day hospital stay due to an unexpected brain mass. I wanted to take a moment to thank this entire staff sincerely. Every doctor, vet tech, and receptionist we spoke with was unbelievably kind and compassionate toward us. I also feel they went above and beyond to diagnose our sweet boy and determine his prognosis without making rash recommendations, and kept us so well informed and educated on what was going on each step of the way. Their communication was phenomenal. Additionally, I could tell with each person I spoke with how deeply they cared about the pets they were treating. They spoke so kindly about our boy. They kept us updated on his eating and movements right up until the end. The rainbow bridge process was as comfortable for all involved as it could be. It was quiet and private and they let us take our time. They were so professional and so compassionate. We are so thankful for how they treated Roo in his final days, and we feel comforted knowing we did all we could for him with the best vet team possible. Thank you eastern Penn. Here is a positive photo to remember him by.
Fantastic experience: My dog has arthritis in his legs. When we woke up Sunday morning he wasn’t putting any weight on his hind legs and we were scared. We decided to drive the hour long ride instead of waiting for our vet on Monday. I can’t say enough good about this center. From the front desk employee, the nurses and the vet every one was so kind and caring towards our baby. You can tell they love our fur babies as much as we do. Thank you!
Fantastic experience: I had a great experience, they took good care of my dog when he needed emergency surgery. All the staff was very pleasant with us and helpful.
Fantastic experience: The staff took immediate action to help our little guy Odie. He was literally on deaths doorstep and their actions helped save his life. It will take about 6 months for him to fully recover, but we have every confidence that will happen. It's been 2 weeks since we brought him in for emergency care, 1 week since we brought him home, and he is back to being the playful, fun loving pup with the biggest personality! Thank you to the entire staff for giving us many more years to love/enjoy our sweet boy.
Fantastic experience: All the medical staff at the hospital were Amazing! In particular "Brandon with an E". Our 275 lb English Mastiff, Titan, is Very Challenging to work with, but Brandon and the Medical Team never gave up trying to find a way to treat our Beloved Titan! Thank you So much! We're sure you saved his life!
Fantastic experience: Amazing staff! Everyone at this facility was very kind and caring to both my dog and us as her pet parents. Very clean- kind hearted- friendly- professional- fast and convenient. I dropped her bottle of insulin on a Friday night- it smashed and we needed a replacement for the weekend being her home vet is not open. We called here and they were very helpful and understanding. They made us be able to come next morning - sent a link and did all the pre registration at home that night and my dog was ready to be seen within minutes of her arrival.
Fantastic experience: We brought our dog Savage in this past Sunday night. Within 15/20 minutes of arriving they brought a gurney right to our car and brought him in the back for vitals and pain meds. Unfortunately our best option was to put him down so didn't have to suffer. We had nothing but respect and comfort from everyone in the office that night. Our dog was sent to get cremated and his collar was left at the vet office and the front staff was able to find it and contacted us so we could have it back. Couldn't recommend them more!!
Fantastic experience: I just want to say thank you for the most pleasant experience I’ve ever had at an ER Vet. From calling while on the way there speaking to the front desk, to arrival and back in exam room. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Me and my son felt at ease and knew our dog Junior was in good hands. They communicated options for care and further testing if the situation would worsen etc…. They administered pain medication and prescribed meds to take home. If ever in need again (I hope not, in a good way lol) BUT if we have an emergency again this will be our go to place every time. Thank you, you all are very much appreciated for what you do. (And look at his medication bag, it’s the little things)
Fantastic experience: Great emergency care. This is my first trip with a pet emergency, but the same dog had a major surgery several years ago during the pandemic and staff was super accommodating, and the surgeon was attentive with follow up calls to check in with us regarding our dog. Clinic has compassionate but also chill staff that keeps both pets and their humans feeling taken care of.
Negative experience: The lack of care here was both disappointing and astounding. We brought our 4 year old cat there Saturday, so we could see what was going on with him because he had a lack of appetite and was lethargic. I didn’t get paid till yesterday and asked if there was some way we could do something payment plans or if there was any other option for us to save our boy. They told us to get Cherri pay, because the other 2 options for both denied my husband and I. We had no idea Cherri pay was only going to cover bloodwork and an X-Ray. They then proceeded to inform us the best course of action for our boy would be to get him on a 3 day in hospital refeeding plan. We tried every other option they had to get the money, even trying to get him under an insurance that would have been willing to pay day of care and we’d make payment plans to them. They informed us that they didn’t accept the insurance we were applying for. It was our only hope to save him and they shot us down at every single turn, the only ones who could afford their prices out of pocket are the rich. We couldn’t take him elsewhere because we had already spent the money on his initial diagnostic tests. They didn’t show much compassion, they were blunt in everything they said and there was no empathy from their end. We asked them what we can do for him and they sent him home with medication. Today we will be euthanizing him because the medication didn’t work. They definitely made sure to let us know we could euthanize him then and there, but we refused to give them that satisfaction. He will not be just a number to them, because he wasn’t that to me! We’ll be taking him elsewhere, somewhere that even showed compassion over the phone. Never again will I take any of my animals here.
