Fantastic experience: I called later at night in a panic because my dog ate something she shouldn’t have, and the vet I spoke to on the phone was so kind and reassuring. I’ve called other 24/hour vet offices before that have made me feel silly for calling about things like that so it was much appreciated!

Fantastic experience: On Wednesday 2/25 Our dog Ralphie began choking and vomiting blood. I rushed him to VEG while my daughter called ahead to let them know we’re coming. Upon arrival VEG staff immediately took Ralphie in and as we held him the Doctor was able to pluck a 3 inch pitchfork shaped stick from his throat. In under 3 minutes the trauma was over. Just amazing thank you so much for saving our Ralphie. This is our third time to VEG-1st was our dog Ted ate rat poison, then our beloved Mya, after 7 months of chemo, was suffering and we needed to euthanize her. And now Ralphie. Each time all staff and Doctors were wonderful. I highly recommend VEG and should have written this sooner. Bring your fuzzy friend in don’t hesitate they can save their life!!

Fantastic experience: Do not hesitate to bring your pet here. The team is incredible. Very caring and fantastic at their jobs. They let you stay with your pet the whole time and were able to handle my sick and grouchy kitty with ease. Five stars all the way!!

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough good things about VEG. Our sphynx had a respiratory scare late at night last weekend and we took him in to see the lovely folks at VEG. From the second he got there they were so caring, and updated us throughout. Sadly, our sweet angel was diagnosed with CHF but they handled his care and recovery so kindly, and walked us through how to proceed with his new condition. It was so comforting to my husband and I to call or show up whenever we wanted during his 2 night stay. To be able to just sit with him for a few hours while everyone was working around us was just such a relief to our nerves and the stress of the diagnosis. The vets and vet techs who work there are truly angels on earth. Even a week later, now with noodle home, we’ve been helicopter momming him and worried about his breathing. I sent an email asking a question to VEG and one of the vets actually called me to walk me through some questions regarding his breathing to make sure and reassure me things were ok. It’s just been such a pleasure working with them, and my husband and I are forever grateful to them for saving our baby’s life.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience. The veterinarian and staff will join you and your pet in a very casual setting. Pet owners themselves, they understand the urgency to help both, you and your pet. Solutions and options are being discussed openly and in layman terms you will understand. Everybody is so friendly and understanding! Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: My Shih Tzu, Oscar, small but lovably feisty, had a terrible encounter with a much larger dog. The image of Oscar's entire head in the mouth of an unleashed aggressor stays vividly with me to this day. Because the dog's owner (?) provided false information, I had no way of contacting the truly responsible person. My concern was obviously for Oscar. Everyone we interacted with at VEG went out of their way to provide kind and professional care. Their expertise was first rate. The one positive experience of this mess was meeting such warm and dedicated professionals. I will continue to sing VEG's praises, as I continue to love my Oscar's healthy and happy growth, these people are great.

Fantastic experience: My dachshund mix had two anal abscesses, and I need fast help. VEG is a godsend for worried animal owners. He was helped, efficent, and gently. While I hope we won't have to go there again, if we do, it would be to VEG.

Fantastic experience: I took my goldendolodle to VEG Boston because he ingested something and they were very attentive and compassionate. Laura S was excellent and made us feel very comfortable in a high stress situation. They injected my dog to throw up and monitored him. He was prescribed medication and about a month later we went back and we got blood results immediately and we were well on our way. Highly recommend VEG Boston, for their exceptional care and service. Thank you VEG Boston team!

Fantastic experience: I hope you never have the need for this place, but if you do, your best friend will be in amazing hands. Unfortunately for me, my 11-1/2 year old English Mastiff has been a frequent flyer in a veterinary ER for many years. None compare to the kindness, warmth and all round knowledgeable treatment provided by the team at VEG Boston. They make her good as new, every time. She is a bit of a giant scaredy-cat, but loves Dr. Mader and allows her to poke, prod and heal what ails her every time. Fast forward to several months ago, my gentle giant Newfoundland (Otis) was in a bad way. Completely out of the norm for him. At 9 years old, I feared this was the beginning of his decline. I'm not in the immediate area to VEG Boston, but the 40-minute drive to them is worth it for my 4-legged family members. Otis presented lethargic and uninterested in food and attention. Completely unlike him. The VEG Boston team knew immediately that something was wrong and they went to work. Imaging, blood tests, fluids, etc. I'm happy to report that after their thorough treatment, Otis is as good as new. VEG Boston never forgets you when you leave. The team texts, emails and calls to follow-up after discharge. It is clear that every bit of the care and treatment they provide is done out of love and is backed by immense knowledge and training.

Fantastic experience: I went to VEG after my general practitioner discovered a foreign body in my cat through an X-ray examination, which necessitated immediate surgery that my regular veterinarian was unable to perform. The staff at the clinic demonstrated exceptional kindness and expertise, thoroughly addressing all of my inquiries. Post-surgery, my cat required overnight monitoring. Throughout the night, I received reassuring text updates and pictures of my pet, which provided significant comfort. The staff's dedication to their work is evident, as they consistently go above and beyond in caring for their patients. Highly recommend. Your pet is in the best hands here.

Fantastic experience: I had such a wonderful experience with this hospital when I brought my dog Ricky in, and I cannot say enough kind things about the team. From the moment we arrived, everyone was warm, compassionate, and incredibly attentive, but the nursing team truly stood out as exceptional. They took such gentle and thoughtful care of Ricky, making sure he was comfortable, safe, and well cared for every step of the way. They kept me updated, answered all of my questions with patience and kindness, and made a stressful situation feel so much more manageable. It was clear how much they genuinely care about the animals and the families who love them. I am so grateful for the dedication, skill, and compassion the nursing team showed us. Ricky was in amazing hands, and I will always appreciate the care and kindness we received.

Fantastic experience: My dog had a bone stuck in his mouth that he was unable to remove on his own. He was salivating at the mouth and endured some blood loss. We visited VEG for assistance and they were able to examine my dog and remove the bone in a pinch. The process was extremely swift and the staff was so knowledgeable and helpful. I am beyond grateful for their help.

Fantastic experience: We are so fortunate to have VEG ER in our Cambridge, MA. neighborhood. Until our dog needed immediate care one Sunday, we had never even heard of VEG ER so we really took a chance. It turned out that VEG ER was honestly better than any vet in any state that we have ever lived. There was, however, one disappointment. We asked VEG ER to become our regular vet and they said that option was not available. Until they change their minds, we at least have VEG ER as our safety net.

Fantastic experience: 15/10. Brought my very anxious and scared dog to VEG on Friday night - he needed X-rays, fluids, etc. The vet techs were the most caring and attentive group - checking on Desmond, making sure he was okay, gave him a comfy bed and blanket to lay on. The vet, Dr Silverstone, was wonderful and knowledgeable. This was my first time at the ER, and they made the experience as painless as possible. We had to come back in the morning for more X-rays, and I will never forget us walking in and everyone saying “DESMOND YOURE BACK!” Because of his anxieties, sometimes he misses out on love from others, but I can tell you we both felt it during our time there. Everything was seamless, cost breakdowns were provided, the whole experience couldn’t have been more seamless. While I hope no one needs to visit the emergency vet, I couldn’t speak more highly of this one.

Fantastic experience: They were so patient and did so well with a dog that really doesn't like vets! The whole staff, from the front desk to the nurses and doctors were so calm and kind with excellent communication as to what to expect. Would definitly recommend to anyone!

Fantastic experience: They saved my dogs life. Straight forward care. Very nice set up. Very transparent. We were told from the first hour we can stay or come and go as we will 24hrs a day. My dog was comfortable and spoilt. Arriving unannounced and finding my dog delicately wrapped in blankets with his favourite toy nearby was very reassuring. We hope we never have to use them again but would not hesitate to recommend.

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Veg ER for Pets in Boston MA, and here is why. On February 8, 2026, my beloved cat of over 18 years suddenly became very sick. She was throwing up, gasping for air, losing control of her bowels, and her eyes appeared slightly bulged. I was terrified and had no idea what to do. I called 311, searched for nearby emergency vets, and came across Veg ER for Pets. When I called, I explained my cat’s condition, and they immediately urged me to bring her in. I arrived around 2:00 a.m., and the staff greeted me right away and quickly began triaging my cat, Gia. Unfortunately, Gia was extremely ill, and her chances of survival were very slim. I ultimately made the heartbreaking decision to let her go peacefully. I want to give a huge acknowledgment to the Veg ER team for their compassion during one of the hardest moments of my life. Dr. Ciona and the nursing team—Rachel, Geo, Kasey, Sophia, and Tracey—worked together with such care and empathy. They made sure both Gia and I were as comfortable as possible, and they gave me the time I needed to be with her before saying goodbye. Fantastic experience: After noticing my cat wasn’t eating I was concerned. He threw up and pooped out some yarn and I had to take him somewhere quick. I came across VEG and brought him in. They gave him a X-ray. All I could think about was the yarn being tangled in him. I had no money for surgery if needed. Thank God the X-ray showed he was all clear of yarn or any foreign object. The team took their time and checked him out. They welcomed us in. We have nothing but positive words for this emergency vet after our visit. I would recommend to every pet lover.

Fantastic experience: I can't give enough praise and thanks to the entire staff at VEG Back Bay for the care and compassion they gave my pup Gracie (and me) during her illness and emergency surgery. They allowed me to be with her during the entire experience, making me a part of her care team and keeping me up to date at every turn. Everyone from the Docs, nurses and techs were tremendous with their attention, empathy and top-notch care. They saved Gracie's life and I will be forever grateful. If anyone is unfortunate enough to need an ED I highly recommend VEG Back Bay Boston. *** I unfortunately had to bring my other pup to VEG a year laterI ** I was very worried about my pup Cash. When I called, I was connected with the doctor right away and when I arrived we were greeted immediately. Even though they were full in the back, they came out to the waiting room and started treating him right away. They told me he was stable enough to wait while the doctor performed a procedure, and the staff were keeping a close eye in case anything changed in the meantime. I have brought other pups into VEG and have always been taken very well care of each time. The entire staff was caring, compassionate and attentive. They treated Cash as if he was their own.

Fantastic experience: My cat was ill. I was seen quickly. The vet and techs were extremely kind, knowledgeable, and explained what was going on as we progressed through the visit with all the blood work and tests. I left there with answers and a treatment plan. My cat got better. I still follow the treatment plan. So glad VEG exists. It was close by, open 24/7 and near the T.

Fantastic experience: I was so impressed with this ER group. The fact that they do things a bit differently makes all the difference" Allowing you to stay with your pet as long as possible AND being in the back area vs. in a waiting room while they take them into the "back", dimmable lights to promote healthier outcomes, comfortable seating, and finally snacks, for those that are waiting and worrying. These all made all the difference in the world. While I hope I never have to go back - and wish they had normal pet visits - I have been telling everyone I know what a great experience it was.

Fantastic experience: VEG was great and not as expensive as mind was imagining! Next time there is an issue I’ll definitely be coming here as I had to leave my regular vet after 2.5 hrs there due to them closing. The doctors at night and in the morning after shift change were both really great! The nurses and front desk too!

Fantastic experience: Would give this place 100 stars if i could. What a an amazing facility with even more amazing vets. Clean, well equipped, and organized. Gave my dog the instant care she needed, and explained to me each step of the way the care plan.

Negative experience: Don’t waste your time — go to MSPCA Angell Memorial instead. After receiving devastating news about my fur baby, I was left alone in an exam room for hours while staff could be heard laughing on the other side of the door. I was given very limited options and was made to feel like an inconvenience while trying to make difficult decisions about treatment. During an already heartbreaking moment, the lack of compassion was upsetting. My friend had a similar experience and her fur baby had a botched medical procedure at a VEG location.

Fantastic experience: VEG ER is fantastic! I can't thank them enough -- I had to take my cat in the day after I adopted him, and again two days later, which was very stressful for both me and him. Dr. Kristen Mader (and the entire team!) is wonderful, she made us feel comfortable and quickly evaluated him, and explained the potential treatment pathways and their costs so that I could make a decision. It is more expensive than a typical vet visit, but is it emergency services, and they are very good. Street parking can be a little tricky, but there is a parking garage right across from their office.

Fantastic experience: Called in for an emergency and came in all dishevelled and worried. Dr. Auri Silverstone met me, the team took my dog's vitals, and assured me everything is fine...except for the passage of Father Time. The staff here is very patient, courteous, respectful, empathetic, and fun! I'm very glad for the team here, and have made a believer out of me. Dog tax attached.

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough good things about VEG ER for Pets. I rushed my cat Bear here after he got into lilies, and they were absolutely amazing from the moment we walked in. Every single person was so kind, calm, and genuinely caring during a really scary situation. They explained everything clearly, acted quickly, and treated Bear with so much love and compassion. You could tell they truly care about both the pets and the owners. Thanks to them, Bear received incredible care! If you ever need emergency care for your pet, this is the place to go. I’m beyond grateful for this team and everything they did for my sweet boy.

Fantastic experience: Brought in my dog late on a Friday & the entire care team acted urgently and kind in an extremely stressful and sensitive situation. They were gentle with him and took care of him so well, I feel so grateful to have care providers I can trust here when it matters most. They deserve more recognition than they get!!

They ensure you have a full understanding and I never have a doubt my dog is in the best hands. If you’re ever unsure, don’t be. Fantastic experience: I woke up to a limping dog and noticed an issue with his nailbed/ paw. My vet was booked for two weeks and recommended I go to urgent care. I went to veg ER and can say they were so helpful. The woman who took my call was sweet and sent pre check in items ahead of time. I got in and was seen within 5 minutes. The entire staff was so friendly and kind to my little guy. They explained everything to me and were so helpful. I was out of there within an hour with everything I needed to take care of my pup. A big thank you to auri who was his doctor and also to the other staff. They were all wonderful and I’d recommend them any time.

Fantastic experience: No one wants to be in an emergency situation when it comes to your beloved pets but I am grateful that VEG was there when our kitten had an unknown illness. The staff there went above and beyond to help our kitten, figure out what was wrong, and keep us updated along the way. I want to specifically call out Dr Knapic who cared for our kitten and also has been graciously available for the headache that is pet insurance claims!

Fantastic experience: I will absolutely be utilizing VEG again. All of the staff was so kind and cheery despite being in the middle of the night, and they all worked together to make my dog feel safe and get healthier. I also was impressed that they referred us to a specialist, instead of trying to haphazardly treat something they knew was a bigger issue. Our Addy is feeling much better!

Fantastic experience: They have a very nice team of doctors who are very knowledgeable, friendly, and quick to help. I had a great experience taking my dog to them when he started having respiratory issues. I thought we were going to have to wait for a long time but they took us in right away even though there were other dogs being helped at the same time.

Fantastic experience: I have taken my dog here twice for an emergency room visit. The staff is incredible you get to stay by your dogs side the whole time and can hold them and love them during scary treatments. The waits are not long and they move fast. Besides her regular vet I can always trust them to care for my sweet girl and know that she is in excellent hands.

Fantastic experience: VEG was absolutely AMAZING!!!! Seriously cant say enough positive things about the staff and experience we had. My cat swalloed a long piece of string, and I was told this could be very damaging and cause a lot of complications internally so I rushed him here after my primary vet recommend them to me. They were so patient with me, explained everything so thoroughly. Were with me and him for every step of the process. They were able to induce vomiting to get the string out of him and were very gentle and patient with him, allowed him to recover and watched him to make sure he was okay even afterwards. Overall just loved everyone who was working here when we were in there and will 100% be coming straight here if we ever have any emergency again. 10/10!!!!! :)

Fantastic experience: Best emergency vet experience ever! I think my dog even enjoyed coming in, even though she’s usually terrified. The staff were so sweet and welcoming and knowledgeable. Bella felt safe and I knew she was in good hands the whole time. Definitely will come here again for all my urgent vet needs (hopefully not too often!)

Fantastic experience: We had to bring our dog, Oliver, to VEG for emergency care, and I cannot say enough good things about the entire experience. From the moment we walked in, the team made us feel calm, supported, and truly cared for. This visit took place on New Year’s Day, which made their compassion and professionalism even more meaningful. Despite the holiday, the entire team was present, attentive, and never once made us feel rushed or like an inconvenience. They took the time to explain every step of the process—what they were doing, why they were doing it, and what to expect next—always answering our questions with patience and clarity. In a stressful situation, that level of communication made all the difference. A special thank you to Dr. Kennedy Knapic, who was exceptional. Her kindness, calm demeanor, and clear explanations helped put us completely at ease, and it was evident how deeply she cares about both her patients and their people. The vet techs were equally incredible—compassionate, attentive, and so patient with Oliver and with us. They checked in often, explained what they were doing, and offered constant reassurance during a very emotional moment. I am incredibly grateful for this entire team and would highly recommend VEG to anyone in need of emergency veterinary care.

Fantastic experience: This place was very efficient, caring and helpful. I called at 1230am my dog had a bad reaction to meds and other stomach issues. They told me to come on in,I got there at 1am. They took me right in and did all my dog's evaluations. Also got scans down right away and results came back within an hour. All the staff there were very friendly and caring to me and my dog. Max especially he came in multiple times to check on my dog when he was coming out of sedation. Even when he sleeping Max just sat in the room with me and him. Made a scary experience much more calming.

Fantastic experience: VEG ER is incredible! I went through a very scary moment with my sweet pup Dixie right before Christmas. It was my first time taking her to the ER and I didn't know what to expect. Dr. Mader and the techs on staff that night exceeded every expectation that I had. She was seen almost immediately and every step of the process was explained to me so that I could follow along with what was going on. I highly recommend VEG ER!

Fantastic experience: I’m a new owner to a bunny and when she began having some wheezing issues I immediately called to see what to do. My concerns were validated both over the phone and in clinic. Everyone working was incredibly kind and respectful of both myself and my bunny. Dr. Trout saw my pet and treated her with care. She explained what could be going on and treatment options thoroughly; answering all of my questions. I am very grateful for the care provided and highly recommend this clinic to anyone in need.

Fantastic experience: My dog ate a decent amount of chocolates that she got into while I was out this afternoon. I panicked and called and went to the first emergency vet I could find. This was a great experience. The doctor and vet tech team saw us so fast, they were clear in exactly what they were going to do to help my dog & walked us through every step and what to expect. They made sure my pup was able to vomit out everything she consumed until her stomach was basically empty and they treated her so kindly and sweet. They were clear in what to expect and look out for in the next few days and answered all my questions without hesitation. I was noticeably panicked and stressed and they helped put me at ease. Not glad we had to deal with this, but thrilled with the care we received.

Fantastic experience: I went to Veterinary Emergency Group when my cat had gone a couple days without eating, and my regular veterinarian referred me to them. They were busy on a Friday night, but tried to make sure my cat and I were comfortable while they handled other emergencies. They got to us reasonably quickly.. within 15-20 mins. Very thorough, professional, and totally compassionate. They did their best to put my cat at ease. Her temp was concerningly high, so they briefed me on options. They swung into action: catheter, xray, blood draw, urine analysis, some antibiotics, all kinds of stuff. Nothing obvious from fluids or xray. She stayed overnight so they could monitor her temperature. By morning, temp was better, and after it stayed steady for a few more hours, she was released back to me. She's fine now, and we never did find out what the issue was, but they had warned me such things are possible. "Fever of unknown origin." Overall I was very pleased that I could just call, then walk in with my cat, any time. I hopefully won't have any other scares anytime soon, but I won't hesitate to trust my cat's care to VEG again. Excellent experience all around.

Fantastic experience: Amazing care from a wonderful team. We were anxious about bringing our husky to the ER because she’s typically reactive with doctors, but the VEG team was so patient and kind that she opened up and let them care for her. We were in and out and less than 2 hours on Christmas Day, couldn’t be more thankful to them!

Fantastic experience: When I tell you my experience here was amazing not sure if there is a word more than amazing ! But as soon as I walked in environment felt like home for my cat and her kittens !! The staff are all lovely not one thing was bad about this place ! There prices are AMAZING fair ! And I wouldn’t want to go to bring my cat anywhere else thank you all the people that seen her this place is amazing! Coco and us love you guys

Fantastic experience: The entire team was so comforting during our Saturday night visit. They were knowledgeable, fast-acting, and receptive to hearing our thoughts about how to best deliver treatments our anxious dog! Highly recommend this spot for your pet care and feel lucky to have them in our neighborhood!

Negative experience: I wanted to wait some time after my dog died here to write a post, to make sure I wasn’t just in shock. The way that they treated my dog when he died and I still haunts me. I brought my dog in when he collapsed. They were great at first, and ran out of my car ti get him. What followed was inhumane. Hardly anyone talked to me while he was getting checked. When the vet (I’m not sure she was a vet) told me he was going to die, she couldn’t even tell me he was dying. She used every word, except that. I had to ask her for clarity almost 10 times until she finally said it. They gave minimal information, if any. My dog was alert during tests, and then AFTER his tests (needles, etc) they drugged him so much that he became incoherent and lied to me and said he was droopy because he was dying, when it was the pain meds- that they could have held off for even 30 seconds longer to let me say goodbye. Never once did they tell me or have ANY compassion to let me know to spend a few last moments with him while he was alert. They injected him with so much pain medication - again, AFTER his tests- that he was completely un alert when they placed him in a room to die. They never told me a single thing when it came to his care. The entire time they were doing tests on him, a woman, who never said a single word or showed any level of compassion, rested her clipboard on top of his head and kept HITTING HIM. I still cannot wrap my mind around how disgusting and unprofessional these people are. What frustrates me the most, and makes me so sick to my stomach at the care of this facility, is when they put him in the room, they told me he was “out of it” because he was sick, when it was his pain meds they gave him. To be clear, I’d obviously want pain meds for him, but to give them without a warning or giving a few seconds/a moment, is insane. They left me alone with him to say goodbye, and they all started screaming, yelling, and laughing out in the hallway. At one point someone said “is she still in there” and they all started laughing. While I was trying to have one last moment with a drugged up dog. I understand some level of grace when you work with dying pets everyday, but this was the lowest form of humanity I have ever experienced. My dog deserved better. I deserved one last moment with my pet before he was severely drugged up and made to believe it was something else. And I deserved CLARITY from a woman who considers herself a veterinarian. I hope she is fired. A horrific day turned worse by incompetent, selfish, and inhumane people.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this 24 hour ER vet. The concept is an open concept so you’re able to stay with your pet the entire time. This gave my dog such comfort while she was sick. Every single person I encountered was extremely knowledgeable, communicative, and compassionate. I never felt rushed, everyone took the time to discuss medications, a plan for my dog and thoroughly go over what was wrong with her. I highly recommend. Again, I’ve never dealt with such loving people who truly care about your dog.

Fantastic experience: I came in with my chinchilla who I found motionless on the bottom of his cage, as soon as I got to the location, they rushed me back and did everything they possibly could too save him, And As soon as they realize that he wasn’t going to make it, they Made him comfortable in a little bed and brought him over to me so he could pass peacefully. I’ve never encountered such kindness and respect during the payment process as I did here, The team was truly incredible.

Fantastic experience: Beyond my expectation !! It was the best ER experience I’ve ever had! The atmosphere and care made me and Maximillan so comfortable! Dr Ariel came out in 5mins.to meet Maximillan and the team was so caring for both of us! My total time was less than an hour. 2 thumbs up!!!!!

Fantastic experience: I had the best experience at VEG the other night (11pm) when I got home from an 8 day vacation and noticed my cat struggling to urinate. I brought him in immediately and the entire team was so friendly and welcoming. They were literally saving a life when I got there and they brought me back to a room and still managed to make my case a priority. The office is clean and well organized. They ran a bunch of tests and talked me through every minor detail and explained everything to me. They asked for approval of every procedure, gave cost estimates and kept me updated the entire time. I spent nearly 3 hours there and they were so warm and friendly the entire time. I was happy it was not a life or death scenario for me that night, however if it was, I knew I was in good hands and was happy to have spent my evening there. Couldn’t recommend the doctor and staff any more. This is the place to take your furry family.

Fantastic experience: We brought our cat in on a Friday evening for several days of ear itching/flicking and were brought to an exam room immediately, with essentially no wait time needed. They sent us a proposed treatment plan and estimated cost after the initial exam for approval, and the price was quite reasonable for an emergency vet visit. They were great with our cat and everything they did was consistent with standard of care.

Fantastic experience: I forgot to review them! If they took clients I would be first in line. Brought my cat here a few weeks ago for a skin issue. They were so kind and though I had to wait a while due to them prepping a surgery, it was a lovely wait. They had snacks in the waiting room and honestly, I can tell the vet truly cares about the animals. I left highly satisfied. IT IS EXPENSIVE LOL but I will say there’s no other way I would’ve wanted to spend my dollars. lol though, I’d only go if ABSOLUTELY necessary due to cost.

Fantastic experience: I called here on a whim late Friday night because my rabbit was acting strange. They said they don't see a lot of rabbits but they did wonderful with my boy Boom Boom. They had us in & out in less than 90 mins. Fortunately nothing was seriously wrong with him & he's pretty much himself again..1 more dose of medicine tomorrow night & hos treatment will be complete. Sorry he shed so much all over the place . Seriously, thank you for being so kind & gentle with him. I truly appreciate it.

Fantastic experience: VEG is an extraordinary resource for pet parents of every kind. My experiences there—while inherently stressful given the emergency nature of the situations—have been nothing short of exceptional. The entire team embodies efficiency, warmth, transparency, collaboration, and genuine compassion. I would take my pets to VEG for primary care if I could. During my most recent visit, my dog Murphy was in significant pain from a massive abscess on her already-injured paw. The team quickly diagnosed the issue and began treatment right away, all while safeguarding her comfort and keeping me by her side throughout the process. Every step was handled with such skill and empathy. Dr. Mader and Max (Tech) were absolutely phenomenal—so capable, kind, and communicative. Murphy is already feeling so much better, and I am endlessly grateful for their thoughtful care and total mastery of their craft.

Fantastic experience: Everyone here was so kind and compassionate when my cat passed. Even having never been in before I was ushered directly into the back room with my pet and I was offered any kind of final plans I felt I needed along with tissues and water. They took a few nose and paw prints for me in ink and offered to call his regular vet for me to deliver the news. No one rushed me through, I was welcomed to spend a few final moments with my baby. I originally just went in a panic because they were close by and open 24 hours, but I couldn’t have asked for a more compassionate experience.

Fantastic experience: I must say that I I’m very pleased with the help I’ve gotten from this place. My dog needed urgent care because she was very old and sick. Not to mention the location was close. I was able to transport my dog here quicker. Sadly she was put down. I made peace with my decision on not watching her get put down only due to mental health reasons. Just want to say this people should not be judged for not watching their dogs be put down! I’m glad they fully understand why I didn’t want to see her be put to sleep. That’s traumatizing for me and won’t do no good for me and my mental health for maybe a week! My mental health comes first and I’ve spent the best wonderful 13 years with my dog and I’m ok with that!I just want to remember happy moments with her. I feel better that she’s at peace and no longer suffering. I’m glad that they was able to work with me on prices of the euthanasia and cremation. They agreed up On a price that I could pay which I felt was affordable and reasonable! Thank you Veg staff for your support and care! The woman there were very nice!

Fantastic experience: I fortunately haven’t had to bring my dog here in quite sometime (I’m hoping I don’t jinx her), but everytime we’ve received care here it has been of the highest quality — from the staffs knowledge and ability to clearly communicate matters with me, to the way they care and treat my dog. Fantastic experience: We cannot say enough amazing things about VEG ER. I’m writing this just as we’re getting home because it needs to be everyone’s first stop for animal emergency. Our 4 year old golden retriever was sick and they took us the second we walked in and advised what to do so well. After running tests, they were able to diagnose her and provided an amazing treatment plan. She had to stay overnight, and she’s an anxious girl so they allowed us to stay with our girl Libby, even rolling a cot in so we could sleep. You can tell how much they care about the animals they take care of. The vets and technicians especially Patrick, Dorothy, Kasey, and Kelley were so amazing. We cannot be more grateful for nursing our baby back to health!

Fantastic experience: We had an excellent experience at VEG with our puppy, Theo. From the moment we called, we were able to speak directly with Dr. Mader, and the staff welcomed us with open arms when we arrived. They immediately checked Theo’s vitals and made sure we could stay with him the entire time, which helped put us at ease. Dr. Mader explained her thought process clearly, was considerate of our financial situation, and showed genuine care for both Theo and us. We left feeling completely comfortable and cared for. We highly recommend VEG and wouldn’t hesitate to return in the future.

Fantastic experience: I am a student and new to Boston. Fenway is my first pet and was very concerned about my cat. Dr. Max was exceptional, and I am very thankful for the care that he gave Fenway. He and the rest of the team went out of their way to make us comfortable and even took the time to talk to my mom about the issues with my cat and get me a charger for my phone. I truly can't say thank you enough to Dr. Max and his team.

Fantastic experience: I would 10000% recommend here, I had to bring my cat in and I was freaking out a bit, and they were so incredibly kind and they immediately checked him out, and spoke to him in a very reassuring way, and me as well. Dr. Kristen was absolutely amazing, she explained in depth what test they had to do and re explained it if needed because I was having a hard time fully processing everything, and then when she got the results she showed me and explained what every single thing meant. They eased my anxiety with my little man so much, and they even illustrated the bag with his meds which is such a cute extra step that makes me so happy!! Will come here again if he ever needs it!!!

Fantastic experience: I came to this emergency vet a few years ago, so I already knew what I was in for, but during this trip, it just exceeded my expectations. Every staff member was beyond professional, polite, and friendly, so caring, and they gave every pet and every pet owner so much love and affection and respect. I will sing their praises always! I just wish I could come here for my regular veterinarian visits.

Fantastic experience: I found a wildlife bunny/rabbit who was in pretty bad shape so I bought him in without knowing if they would even be able to help us out. To my surprise, everyone was so incredibly kind and took us in with Ozzy (the rabbit). They checked him out and let us know it would be best to let him go. They let us hold onto Ozzy for a bit and even let us hold him while they sedated him to sleep. Sad we had to let him go but I’m glad we brought him to the right people. Thank you VEG ER also, the clinic was super clean and very welcoming

Fantastic experience: Had to bring both of my cats in to be put to sleep 3 months apart. VEG is the kindest vet hospital youll ever find. the staff is extremely compassionate and you can tell they do it for the love of the animals. cannot recommend them more.

Fantastic experience: In a time of despair and crisis with my dog, the team (at the Duke St VEG location), was nothing short of professional in providing excellent care & service. It is also an open floor plan, so you are never separated from your pet. Dr Griffen, Chloe, Ally and the rest of the team did an excellent job explaining everything they were doing, and our treatment plan at home. I’m grateful for all of their help and support, and my little guy is already starting to feel better after a very hard day for both of us. They are open 24 hours and even on the phone before we came, they were so helpful! I highly recommend them for urgent care needs.
