Perfect experience with references for future care. Therefore, we just dropped off our new bebe Sunny (pupper) for her first visit! Very reasonably priced with exceptional care. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Animal Friends Alliance is wonderful! Both of my cattle dogs had surgeries here this year, Dorito earlier and Chunky just today. I was especially nervous since Chunky has never been alone without another dog or a human around, but the blonde staff member with the cool tattoos had the BEST dog energy. Chunky went with her so happy and comfortable, no complaints at all. Both my dogs felt safe and cared for, and I’m so grateful for the kindness and love the staff showed them.

Fantastic experience: This is THE best place for low-cost vaccines! Any regular vet will charge at least double. I save big time because I have more than one dog and they need vaccines every year! My dogs like the drive through vaccine clinic because they stay in the car with me until it's time for them to see the vet and get their shots. Super professional organization with wonderful caring and compassionate staff.

Fantastic experience: Brought my kitty Tripper in to get vaccinated and spayed and had a wonderful experience. They were really friendly and everything went as well as things could possibly go. All instructions, procedures, necessary forms and documents were easy to understand and given in a timely manner. I have a disability and my income is limited so I qualified for the pal+ program which significantly lowered prices of the procedures to a manageable level which I am very thankful for. A+ rating across the board from me

Fantastic experience: I cannot tell you how AWESOME the people at Animal Friends Alliance (Mulberry location) are!!! They are all so kind and truly care about animals❤️ I have a very sweet barn cat that showed up on my property that quickly became pregnant. After many emails/calls answering questions and offering solutions, they offered to take the kittens (when they were weaned), and put them in the care of a very sweet and patient foster with the end goal of getting them adopted. (I was even given advice and help with how to coax the scared kitties out of hiding…not the easiest thing to do, catching barn kittens…Mariah saved the day!!) And when I brought the mama cat in to be spayed, even though it was a cheap price for the surgery, her surgeon did an amazing job (no complications)!! Everyone was SO kind to her and even checked up on her the next day. (Couldn’t believe the level of care and concern for a barn cat!!) Every single person I interacted with at this facility was wonderful…they really do care so much about animals and are so supportive and helpful. I wholeheartedly recommend them!!!

Fantastic experience: Had my 7 month old goldendoodle spayed by the vet at Animal Friends Alliance last week and was super impressed with the process from start to finish. Frequent and thorough communication, easy drop off and pick up procedures, incision was tiny and well approximated, and my dog recovered very quickly. I highly recommend this spay/neuter clinic! I was quoted $500-700 by my vet and I was charged $250 here. Thank you for the great care you all provided!

Negative experience: Guys don’t answer any of their phones. Spent the last half hour trying to call but not a single extension knows how to pick up a phone. Very frusterating when business don’t hire people with a skill of answering a phone.

Fantastic experience: 4/25- We had a great experience last time so we brought our kitty for a spay. They took wonderful care of our girl! You can tell the people here care about their patients, they are SO very good with our best buddies! 8/23- I got my baby spayed here thanks to the Street Dog Coalition. They took wonderful care of my baby Zen, were kind, professional and amazing!!! I'm really grateful for AFA and the dedication to helping people and their pets!

Fantastic experience: I rented a trap and caught a feral kitty I feed and they made sure was spayed and vaccinated. They're so organized, friendly, professional, and more than reasonably priced. There's an option to donate the trap rental deposit to their organization too which I appreciate. Everything was easy and they provided really clear instructions. Positive experience: The most economical humane animal shelter around. Drive thru dog/cat vaccinations are fast, Very Economical, with a Veterinarian who gives the animal a once over plus advice for a low flat fee! Highly recommend it ☺️

Negative experience: I was in line in my car for an hour with an appointment. This is just to give vaccines to animals. It's not efficient, or quick for anyone. Not only that but I needed a booster for my pet. I made the soonest available appointment I could take him and it was 2 weeks past the 6 week mark. They said they called me but I did not get a call. Therefore he would need to start over the entire vaccine.

Negative experience: My kitten just got spayed yesterday and I also requested they trim her nails under anesthesia. When they gave her back to me this is what they did to her. I'm absolutely furious, so we called the clinic and they pretty much told me sometimes kittens will break their own nails in the kennels. I don't even almost believe that seeing that it's a clear cut. There are at least 4 nails that were bloody and cut too short but the first picture is the worst and her nail is cut all the way to her paw there's only a small piece of nail left. Update: My mom returned to the clinic with the photos shown below. They gave us medical wipes but after seeing the pictures the girl working continued to say my kitten did it to herself and her paws being out of the kennel in the photo was proof.

Fantastic experience: This place is an amazing lifesaver for rescuing, caring and placing animals! Responded to a feral that had five kittens in my shed. Trapped, fixed and placed them in foster care. They make happy endings!

Fantastic experience: Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I like the easy process where I wait in my car while the vet sees my pets. I’ve taken my cat and dogs and they’ve done well, even with my scared and snarky one.

Negative experience: We adopted a cat around a year and a half ago. We were assured from the beginning that our animal was very healthy. We believed this, because generally Animal Friends has a good reputation. But from the moment we took her home she has had a chronic and incurable upper respiratory problem. She constantly struggles to breathe. We have taken her to the vet countless times and there is no helping her. I understand that an animal getting sick is a risk you take when taking them home. But this sickness has always been with her and was never disclosed. You pawned a sickly uncomfortable animal off to my family. I will never adopt from Animal Friends again, and I encourage others to look elsewhere when looking for a new family member. I love my cat dearly but she breaks my heart every day. I wish we had known what we were getting into. I wish her health had been monitored closer. I wish she was shown genuine care prior to coming home with us. I wish I didn't feel conned. I wish for many things that Animal Friends was unable to provide my animal.

Positive experience: This place is awesome, we took our 1 year old Gray Dane in for a spay. They did such a great job with her, they informed us how long it would take, give us an overall health report. It was less expensive than other places we have checked out. Unfortunately we have had bad experience with our other Great Dane that passed away from bad supervising with meds at different veterinary services. Over all we are very happy about this outcome!!!

Fantastic experience: They were so thorough and professional, I felt like my baby was being cared for! They're true professionals & the affordable price did not effect the level of care including his procedure. We got there right at the 8 am check in and it took about 25 minutes before he was checked in. I would recommend anyone to take there furry companion there because they'll be in good hands. Negative experience: I've had both positive and extremely negative experiences with AFA. Most of the negative experiences surround my interactions with Mariah. It isn't often that I happen upon a supposed "non-profit" who are really just posing in order to pay a salary for a job they want and love. In this case though, Mariah is clearly that person. The trouble with that kind of power is that there is no real accountability in the end. I'm grateful to AFA for help with my animals - to an extent. Unfortunately, Mariah still asked and threatened to send me to collections knowing my income is less than $410/month. I don't receive housing help, don't have a vehicle, and other handicaps, yet, Mariah refused my help in grant writing (which I'm actually extensively experienced with, and offered for free), refusing to even consider it - like no - what's your experience, your portfolio, NOTHING. At this point, I consider AFA to be a joke - just a front for a paycheck for the CEO/founder. I hear she does good work - but when she refuses solid help and jeopardizes future funding due to poor business skills.....well. take it from there. In response to Sarah's comment, below - I would add that AFA claims that they help people who don't have resources to provide spay/neuter services. Yes, I agreed to the $40 fee, hoping for a tax refund since I survive on $400/mo. Before I could even get to that point, I was bombarded with threats of collections over $40. I explained to the staff that I'm disabled (and will likely received significant backpay, with which I would have been happy to support AFA with not only the $40, but also the emergency spay costs (nearly $600). I think the lesson here - and I hope it's one that hits home, is that you drove goodwill away through lack of understanding, judgement, and really poor assumptions. I haven't exaggerated my circumstances or income, but sadly, I also haven't exaggerated my disappointment with your operation. Having made $250k/yr in the past, surviving for 3 years on my IRAs and 401Ks, I'm not embarrassed to explain my predicament; nor to expect help that I previously paid into (social security) donated to (many non-profits) and contributed to (AFA specifically). My conscious is clear on calling out AFA.

Negative experience: Be aware, no matter if your dog is in heat or not they will try to tell you they are so they can charge you additional money and if your dog ever so slightly resembles a pit they will tag it at as Pit Bull. Update, and now because I’ve posted this they have told me they will no longer provide services to me! Guess they should try being honest, they didn’t like getting called out apparently!

Fantastic experience: Amazing price to get my cat neutered. Great service, so easy, they come out to your car for literally everything. Don’t even have to unbuckle. I recommend anyone that needs to spay or neuter a pet to use this vet.

Fantastic experience: Works out great for us. Trust-Worthy, way less expensive, and the drive thru appointment worked out great! Brought my knitting and a podcast for the little bit of waiting and was happy as a clam.

Positive experience: My first review was bad because my kitten got diagnosed with FIP less than one week after I adopted her and her sister. Which I know it's not their fault and is an idiopathic disease. I was really sad, but they shelter was very understanding and let me know when my kitten passed that they would give me 'a deal' on the next one. I ended up going back a year later and doing a buy one get one. My 3 cats that I've gotten from them have all been amazing and healthy!

Fantastic experience: These folks have been a lifesaver to the feral community that i have been caretaking for many years now, i can finally say that this is one community that is 100% population controlled and healthy. With the spay/neuter program and the kibble program i would have had to sacrificed the majority of my community crew for the greater good and i wouldnt have been a happy soul for doing so. We have been together for well on for some 15 yrs now and to force the old guys/gals to leave the only home would have been hard for me and them. But thanks to Josie and James especially i can be happy the cat family can stay together happy, healthy and controlled. Thanks guys.

Fantastic experience: The people who work for them are devoted to finding animals good homes. My kittens were healthy and you could tell they'd been well cared for in their transition from Texas to Colorado. We couldn't be happier!

Positive experience: All I have done was pick up free dog and cat food. But the people were so friendly. And they seem to enjoy what they are doing. Helping out furry friends.

Negative experience: I cannot say enough about how poor the quality of service and customer care is with the veterinarians who work with Animal Friends Alliance. I have never seen such poor work done, justified because the services rendered were low cost. The staff and techs volunteering or employed are very unprofessional and their patient relations are atrocious. Please do not donate in any capacity or support this business

Fantastic experience: I adopted a hound mix from Animal House just before they became Animal Friends Alliance, and he is still one of the best dogs I've ever had. Furthermore, I have volunteered as a dog walker with their organization in the past, and I fell in love with the animals in their care. The organizations commitment to not only housing the animals but also feeding, training, enrichment, rehabilitation, and veterinary care is second to none. You will not find better shelter facilities in this state, and as hard as it may be to surrender an animal, they will provide for your pet better than any other shelter, rescue, or humane society. Furthermore, they rescue companion animals across the US and rehabilitate them on a beautiful plot of land in Fort Collins, Colorado, with the sole purpose of rehabilitating and rehoming animals that have no home or were surrendered by owners that lack the resources to provide adiquare cate. There are few organizations that deserve more commendation than Animal Friends Alliance, and I not only support them, I have devoted my own time to their efforts because I have full faith in their mission.

Fantastic experience: Our vet we have been going to for 30 years wanted to charge $1,100 to spay our 2 puppies. Was so HAPPY with the price, compassion & knowledgeable staff. I needed to call back for a concern that ended up being nothing, but the doctor called me back immediately & not hours later. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Fantastic experience: After calling around and more popular name brand pet locations we're trying to charge over $400 for spay and neutering for cats. I found Animal Friends Alliance gave them a call and within 2 minutes I had an appointment scheduled to get my cat neutered and they were offering a quarter of the price that others were quoting me. Some locations required a non-refundable examination of the pet beforehand. After vaccinations we needed a friendly and cost-effective place to take care of our cat. We will be using Animal Friends Alliance from now on and we'll go nowhere else. The staff is super friendly, very kind and very accommodating. The communication was top-notch I got a call back when I had questions even if they weren't able to answer the phones right away, we also communicated through email which was very timely and prompt.

Negative experience: We found the perfect puppy. It currled up on my son's lap and took a nap even. When I went to sign the paper work they said we couldn't because we have another dog of the same gender at home that is intact. My son cried the whole way home.

Fantastic experience: Words cannot describe how incredibly kind, helpful, and worry free the staff at AFA has made me feel about getting care for my dog. They are informative, personable, friendly and thorough. I would reccomend this clinic to anyone looking for care for your furry friend! I wish I could give more stars!

Fantastic experience: They really care about animals. Getting vaccines and checkups is easy and fast. Didn't even get out of my car and they asked multiple times if I had any questions or concerns.

Fantastic experience: This program does wonders for the local animal community. We were able to have both of our pets neutered here and received their vaccines for an affordable price. The staff is friendly and kind and go out of their way to do good in the community. I am so thankful to have this program so close to home.

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars, I would. I was told IN WRITING that my application for a specific dog was accepted and to come get her at the Taft Hill campus. We loaded up 2 wheelchairs, 4 people and a dog for the 45 minute ride. When I got there, I was told that the dog I was supposed to be picking up was actually in a foster home somewhere & there's a waiting list for her. Such a complete waste of our time, energy & money & they did absolutely nothing to make it right. I suspect a bait & switch scam. I would never adopt from such dishonest people!

Fantastic experience: This place is so awesome!! I am so glad I was able to take my kitty here to get neutered. The staff couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful and Jax came home in perfect condition! I don’t want to go anywhere else after this experience!! Thank you guys so much!!!

Fantastic experience: Great place doing great things and helping a lot of people and their pets. Call them if you have need. Donate if you can. My vet quoted me near $1000 to neuter my dog. No way could I pay that. Animal Friends Alliance stepped in and helped me get it done for a fifth of that. I was so happy I donated every penny I had left so they could help the next person in need.

Fantastic experience: Update: Brought my 85 lb dog here to be spayed and I will forever rave about Animal Friends Alliance! You cannot beat the affordability, and the care and information given is much better than even most private vets I’ve visited. I was called the next day to make sure my dog was recovering well. Very happy about every experience I’ve had here. Such a great & efficient experience I had bringing my kitten here to be neutered. Great phone customer service, was quick to get me in for an appointment, very affordable pricing, and kept me up to date with texts while my kitten was in their care. No complications and great results.

Negative experience: My son submitted not one but two applications to adopt a cat yesterday. He spent two hours with the cat and filled out an application in person and also one online as he was advised by the employees at the store that had the cat. They were unable to get a response from animal friends alliance to get an approval for him to take the cat home yesterday. He was told there were no more applications for the cat at the time he completed both applications. He received an email this morning that he was approved to get his cat. When he contacted the location to go pick her up he was told someone had come in and picked her up already. So I ask what kind of business practice is it to let someone else come in and adopt a cat when you already had approved her adoption to my son who specifically requested and applied for her yesterday. He was ready and willing to take her home at the same time he completed his applications. Dont fall in love with an animal here the alliance will adopt it right out from under you. NOT GOOD PRACTICE ANIMAL FRIENDS ALLIANCE!!

Fantastic experience: This place is an amazing asset to the community offering up discounts for financially in need families who need assistance affording vaccines and spay/neuter for cats and dogs as well as an amazing food distribution program offered twice a month if needed. Great Great place can't recommend enough they are so helpful, friendly, accommodating, and professional. Donate if you are able, and if not, know that you're welcome to use the programs available to help our community.

Negative experience: I don’t know how Animal Friends Alliance was able to take down my reviews from last month, but they did. I gave them one star for the botched job they did on neutering my male golden retriever. Not once, but twice! They begged me to come back for a complete ablation because they ,eased up the first one, then botched that one! Charged me for it and even told me not to come back! I had three veterinarians see my dog after the procedures and all three said AFA really messed up both times. I’m sure this will be taken down as well, but I will continue to post it until they do a much better job of taking care of our beloved animals.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful organization, I adopted my little girl about a month ago from them.Her name was Tea cup, now Suzy I was so impressed that the people that work there really care and love everyone of their little rescues The shelter was clean and did not smell terrible which in itself is quite the feat. We absolutely fell in love with our newest little girl. Suzy gets along great with our other fur baby Sophie, and she fit in perfectly right from the start. She is the light of my life and continues to amaze me with how smart and loving she is. I can not imagine a day without her. Thank you for bringing her from Texas so we could find each other

Fantastic experience: We are so lucky to have this service in our community! AFA allows everyone to be able to have, and take good care of their beloved pets. And the fact that I don't have a bunch of feral, unfixed cats in my neighborhood shows what great work they are doing.

Fantastic experience: Wow, what an amazing deal and care for my 8 month old kitty's spay. Easy online scheduling. $50 deposit. Detailed instructions over email and text. Drive up with pet, curbside checkin, hand animal over. Pick up a similar easy experience. Pay online. Spay $75, to get all shots and spay $150. Able to spay kitty while in heat. Handed Kitty in carrier over to me through car window. My kitty is doing amazing, not to groggy, 3 day pain medication on board. They called to check in day after. Incisions clean and glued. Kitty leaving it alone. Very satisfied with these people! Highly recommend! Going back in a few weeks for follow up boosters. Inexpensive. Photos post surgery of kitty.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely wonderful people who take amazing care of your pets and actually care about animals. I've taken 5 cats for spay a neuter here and they've been just exceptional. My kitten Finn aspirated some stomach fluid into his lung after his surgery and they put him on oxygen, extra antibiotics and sent me home with oral antibiotics for no extra charge. The PAL program is amazing if you qualify for some help with the bill. Please consider adopting or donating from these guys. It's thanks to them that Finn is still here.

Fantastic experience: We love Animal Friends Alliance!!!! We adopted our first kitten Luna (originally Spirit of Halloween) and fell in love with the organization. Later on, in 2021 we rescued Sparkles our second cat. We also adopted our sweet dog Toby (originally Townes) in June of 2022. Just recently, we rescued a super skinny, very sweet and pregnant black kitty. We named her Willow and decided to have Animal Friends Alliance help us adopt out the kittens. We love rescuing animals and couldn’t think of anything better than to help even more cats!! They were so nice and that’s when we became fosters. It has been the best experience EVER and we will continue to help more and more cats and dogs!! Thank you for all that you do! I definitely recommend Animal Friends Alliance. They take exceptional care of all of the animals they rescue!

Fantastic experience: The spay/neuter and vaccine clinics at AFA are the best! They beat any other vet's prices by miles, and their competent vets didn't bat an eye when my Newfoundland turned out to be cryptorchid, which requires a more complex surgery than a typical neuter. It's great to know that we're supporting a non-profit every time we take our pets there, too.

Fantastic experience: Took our puppy here for a spay and are really glad we did. Everything went great from drop off to after care. I can’t believe how small the incision is. Aside from loving the extra attention she doesn’t seem to be affected at all. Thanks to all the staff involved!

Poppy Kat, who I adopted in 2011 has passed away. Don't be sad, I had a good life with my mom for 11 years. Thank you AFA for giving me Pops. She will be always and forever in my heart.

Negative experience: I adopted a cat from AFA in 2020, and while the cat is amazing I’ve been unimpressed with the facility and customer care. The facility was flat out dirty, which is surprising because it’s a vet clinic in addition to a shelter, and you’d think cleanliness would be a priority. At the time I figured maybe because of covid it was harder to keep the place up and things would improve when the situation got better. Well I went in the other day and it was just as bad if not worse than the last time! To make matters worse the guy they have managing the place is equal parts rude and incompetent; he clearly has no business being in a customer care centric role.

Fantastic experience: I have been both a foster and adopted from the Animal Friends Alliance. It's amazing to see how far they've come over the years and how many lives they have changed! I know ours has changed with our new kitten, Huxley!

Fantastic experience: This is a fantastic place they really care about your pet. I took my little Fox Terrier in to get spayed and they did the blood work, heartwork test, all of her shots, spayed, collar, and medications for a good cost. They contacted me a couple of days later to check up on her. The vet tech was great explained everything to me when I picked her up, they send electronic records as well as gave you paper records. I totally reccomend this place.

Fantastic experience: When I rescued this beautiful dog, Sullivan one year ago he was six months old. He was a mess, horribly trained, didn’t have respect for people, chewed things up, was not potty trained, and overall was clearly a dog that was not loved before. One year later, this 115 pound Great Pyrenees golden retriever mix is the best dog I could have ever asked for. He is so full of love and kindness, and all he wants to do is make the people and dogs around him happy. He has seen a complete 180 degree turn around in his life, and doesn’t go a waking minute without a massive smile on his face. This would have never happened without Animal Friends Alliance, and I urge all that want to change a pets life to rescue a dog from this shelter. You can tell everyone working here really cares about finding their pets a perfect fit. It has changed my life and my dogs life forever.

Fantastic experience: We love visiting and spending time socializing with all the felines in the cat room. The rescues here receive exceptional care and the place is very tidy. If you are looking for a cat or kitten I highly recommend the Animal Friend Alliance here in Ft Collins.

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars I would, absolutely terrible service. Took my dog in to get neutered and I got a call saying they snipped a major artery by “accident” and had to do emergency surgery, almost killed my dog. Took him back for vaccinations, to give them a second chance, and they forgot to give him a test that was paid for in advanced. They did schedule me to come back in and take the heart worm test that I paid for and they never called or emailed me results after about 3 weeks. I had to call for results myself. Absolutely terrible service, very unprofessional. Will be looking for a new vet asap. I’d rather pay thousand and thousands of dollars for the proper vet, instead of wasting my time at this poor excuse of a pet clinic. I highly recommend people do their proper research before taking any of their pets here. The service is more quantity over quality. My dog is a part of my family and to be treated like that is absolutely uncalled for. Will be finding a new clinic. Terrible service, Terrible communication. They didn’t even apologize… 100 thumbs down

Fantastic experience: Best place by far to take your pets for spay or neuter!! They are resonably priced and all costs are up front. I took both of my girls here and they did a magnificent job making sure that surgery went well Before and After! They even took the time to do a full evaluation of both and sent notes in the aftercare paperwork post surgery on what they found or needed to be worked on beyond the procedure. I HIGHLY recommend this facility! I honestly wish they were a full vet clinic, they are that amazing!

Fantastic experience: Adopted our lovely Siamese cat, Nylah (formerly named Buzz) here back in February. ❤️ It was a little bit of a process for her to settle in here at home because of her previous traumas, but she’s really come out of her shell and has opened up tremendously to me and my mom. She now never leaves either of our sides and loves lounging around and being spoiled with cuddles! We absolutely adore Nylah and are beyond blessed she ended up in our laps, metaphorically & literally. The experience this shelter has is amazing & is what I feel every shelter should be like. Very clean environment and everyone was very informative on the entire adoption process. You can truly tell they care about their animals. Would highly recommend if you’re looking to adopt a pet in the Foco area!

Fantastic experience: This place is the best place to go if you need help financially for spay and neutering and shots, for your fur babies. It is hard to get in do to Covid but they have kind and loving staff to care for your family. Yes pets are family. They have a food bank option for your pets as well.❤

Fantastic experience: This is really a place to get your forever furry friend. They're super helpful and supportive of their customers. I had an incident with my cat attacking me and my partner a couple times that I almost decided to return her. I brought her to the shelter, but was still very conflicted and emotional. Someone there was willing to talk to me and helped me decide to keep working with my kitty. They even gave me a follow up call to see what I was going to truly decide and reassured me that I can always bring her back if it didn't end up working out. That I could be at peace knowing she'd be well taken care of with them. Things are going smoothly so far with my cat as I'm doing my best to accommodate her boundaries and triggers. I'm honestly considering on adopting another cat from them to give mine a friend to play with. 10/10 Recommend !!!!
