Fantastic experience: We go to Sage for all of our pet emergencies. It’s where we went when we had to say goodbye to our beloved Geo in 2022. The staff is professional and kind. We recently came to Sage for a neurology consultation with Dr. Griffin, due to one of our current dog’s seizures. My dog has recently become more dog reactive and the staff was very supportive and made sure we were in and out without any negative interactions with any other patients! There was a little bit of a wait, but nothing major. Sherman was more than happy to play tug in the room while we waited! They also had an adorable “kissing booth” prop for Valentines Day! Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get a great photo with it since I wanted to make sure we avoided other dogs but it was still a very cute touch.

Fantastic experience: My little potato, Gabby was attacked and had some pretty serious injuries. I called Sage in a panic and the calming voice on the other end of the phone helped me gather my head and told me to bring her right in. Within minutes of arriving, they had Gabby in the back and quickly started helping her. They were amazing at keeping us informed of her progress and letting us know about everything they were doing to care for her. The next day we picked her up and were greeted by the most friendly staff. When we met with the Vet Tech, she explained in detail how to give Gabby her medication and signs and symptoms we should watch for. I hope to never have another emergency again but if I do, Sage is the only place I would ever bring my dogs to. Thank you so much to everyone at Sage who helped take care of my little baby ❤️

There are separate dog and cat sides to help minimize pet anxiety and the doctor - Dr. Johns- was thorough, caring and so knowledgeable. She answered all my questions and truly cares about my cat. My cat and I both really like her and are lucky to have her on our team!!

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with bringing my dog there to get his heart looked at. The doctor had a diagram showing me what was going on with his heart. I loved being able to see it in person and understand it easier.

Fantastic experience: Just read on our NextDoor community page about a kind-hearted individual who rescued a small dog that was running loose at an intersection near a highway off ramp tonight. The dog was taken to Sage Veterinary Clinic. Unfortunately, the dog wasn’t microchipped, animal services was closed for the day, and three other veterinarians, including Sage, couldn’t take the dog in because it wasn’t injured. Despite these challenges, Sage Veterinary Clinic showed their generosity by providing the rescuer with a couple of cans of dog food, pee pads, and a blanket. A huge shoutout and kudos to Sage Veterinary Clinic for their kindness and compassion!

Positive experience: Stuffs are friendly. Set appointment very quickly. I guess will good for emergency care. But for me . Their prices are higher than other places, when I ask for reasons, Doctor says because they are all board certified

Fantastic experience: My Gemma had a follow up appointment for her kidney issue with Dr Strasser. Dr Strasser is an exceptional listener. We never feel rushed. She answered all my questions and Gemma adores her and the staff there.

Fantastic experience: We took our dog to SAGE as an emergency referral when our dog suddenly collapsed, and our regular vet couldn’t figure out what was wrong. The SAGE team was efficient, empathetic and very professional in how they handled our case at every stage, from meeting us at the parking lot, to carrying out an emergency procedure, monitoring her overnight, and providing us detailed information all throughout. They were accommodating and compassionate, and while the prognosis was still bad, we felt supported by the clear advice and resources SAGE provided, in keeping our dog comfortable and making the most of the time we had left with her. Was it expensive? Yes. But the quality of care was as good as one could expect.

Fantastic experience: They were very attentive, very clear and very communicative. I highly recommend this place as well as Dr. Griffin. They took great care of my little Coconut and very helpful with questions.

Fantastic experience: Very happy with my dog’s experience at SAGE. After he had seizures, my general vet recommended a few places and I’m happy I went with SAGE. They were very easy to schedule with and communicative, and everyone was friendly and helpful. Dr. Griffin took the time to go through my dog’s MRI with me and answered all my questions with patience. Highly recommend him, Tessa, and the rest of the neurology team.

Fantastic experience: Everyone here took extremely good care of Jasper my 12-year-old cat. Very professional, worked with a sense of urgency and truly cared. It is very expensive but that is something that we all need to plan for if we are to have a pet. After this I decided to get pet insurance to help with the emergency costs.

Fantastic experience: I have sought care for my fur babies at Sage Veterinary Hospital in Concord CA for many years, and have never received anything less than 5 superior treatment. My most recent visit was to consult with a veterinary neurologist for my 8 yo Labrador who was presenting with what I perceived as seizures. The staff made my dog feel safe and comfortable during his physical and neurological examination, and Dr Croix Griffin was incredibly intuitive and invested in learning everything about my dog’s behavior and review of his symptoms. He spent a great amount of time with both my dog and myself, and was able to diagnose his genetic disorder, answer all my questions and reassure me of what to expect going forward. He was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and soft spoken, and my dog actually gravitated towards him during the entire visit. All I can say is my dog knows ‘good people’, and the staff and Dr Griffin are great, compassionate people! From the moment I called for an appointment I knew that Dr Griffin would be worth waiting for an appointment, and upon meeting him I knew I had taken my boy to the right place. I cannot recommend this facility enough.

My recent consult with their Orthopedic Surgeon was thorough and really balanced the well being of my pet with the medical advice. Fantastic experience: Kind, caring, compassionte! My kitty needed to be checked for non-food items she wasn't supposed to play with or eat. The vet was able to get me in immediately on a weekday morning. The cat is nervous and uncooperative with vets, but the Sage staff walked me through calming and short term sedation options and worked with me on the wait times so I could take a break and get lunch while they got kitty x-rays done. Very impressed with the staff, the clean and easy to navigate facility, and the prices weren't terrible considering it was an emergency visit. A great resource!

Fantastic experience: I took my chihuahua here because of heart issues. The staff greeted us kindly and the doctor gave us great information and help. I can already see improvement in her comfort. Very professional and caring. My daughter loved the hot cocoa/coffee bar.

Fantastic experience: My Golden Retriever underwent an emergency splenectomy mid December and was diagnosed with a splenic hemangiosarcoma. Many oncologists in the Sacramento area where we live were unable to see him for weeks, which would delay his treatment. We received one opinion from an oncologist in our area who was unwilling to start treatment until more extensive pathology was performed. Given how aggressive hemangiosarcomas are that did not sit well with my family. Our emergency vet team made contact with Dr. Tran at SAGE Concord. She was made aware of the first opinion we received and reviewed Murphy’s full medical record. The oncology team called shortly after to schedule him for an initial consult the next day. Dr. Tran was absolutely wonderful. She listened to our wishes and concerns for Murphy and went over every step of his treatment plan with us in great detail. She was compassionate while also explaining the reality of this type of cancer. She took her time during our appointment and did not make us feel rushed or that we asked too many questions. She left myself and my family feeling that she was going to fight just as hard for Murphy as we are, and that is the type of oncologist we wanted for our furry family member. Thanks to Dr. Tran we were able to start chemotherapy at our initial appointment and not further delay treatment, which was a very big concern for my family. I feel very confident that Dr. Tran and her team at SAGE will ensure Murphy will have as good of a quality of life as possible, for as long as possible.

Fantastic experience: My dog received a sudden, urgent, and heartbreaking cancer diagnosis the day before New Year’s Eve, where I needed to meet with an oncologist immediately. Not only did they have an oncologist working, but she made time to meet with me during an emergency room visit. Dr Tran was calm, patient, informative, and empathetic in a way that didn’t feel forced or performative, and helped me lay out a plan for my guys care that could bridge us to a proper oncology appointment. The treatment was even cheaper than I anticipated, and I always felt like they were being realistic about what was needed. If I didn’t live somewhat far away, I would have fought for her and Sage to be the care team for my dogs journey to the clearing at the end of the path.

Negative experience: Trash spot. Go somewhere else. There's better services and places. Promise. Made a previous review. Definitely scarred. Among other personal friends who went here and put down their furry family when they didnt have to. Coz money right? Hah.they only respond to high reviews coz its easier. Go figure. Easier pill to swallow btw i would 300% call for a service for someone to come by to our home where our furry animal would feel familiar and safe for their last moments than take them here. Their service helps with you in your grieving than this money grabbing institute. Please. Don't. Go. Here. If you still consider, read all the low rated reviews first if its worth it. The possibilities of that happening to you and your furry family member. Don't be another potential victim.

Fantastic experience: Our 3 cats receive care for genetic heart issues at Sage from cardiologist Dr. Lori Siemens. She and the staff at Sage are amazing! We've also used Sage for emergency care as well! They practice high quality medicine with a heart (no pun intended)!

Fantastic experience: Great they were wonderful. Kept me updated what was going on with Joey.. Dr. Kept coming to let me know how he was doing when procedures were over came to let me know what the next step was. He explained what was going on with him and explained all the meds. He was sending him home with and how to administer them all. Also what to look for what to do if he didnt look well. So far so good. Today he looked his best. Ate 2 tablespoons of food with meds. Dinner time he ate a little but didnt want food or meds. He went to room to his bed. He's sleeping then just laying there. I talk to him but he wants to be by himself. I hope he'll eat later tonight or in am. This is the second time I've taken one of my furbabies there. Love this hospital and everyone there.

Negative experience: Worst interpersonal skills of any doctor, vet or medical clinic I have ever visited. We had a puppy that had Parvo, we brought her to SAGE for treatment. Unfortunately they were unable to save her. The issue wasn't the care it was the customer service. This was during the pandemic so we were unable to enter the hospital to see our little girl, so we were dealing with people over the phone. One of the nurses brought Whiskey out for us to say goodbye after we paid over 6K over the phone for the services. Then they took her back to so they could put her down. Unfortunately they decided they had to delay the service and force her to suffer even longer until they received another $175 dollars from us before they could euthanize her. This after we had just 15 min early paid them 6K. Additionally the rep was rude and dismissive. Overall it was a terrible experience from multiple aspects. Again the direct nursing staff was ok. But the support staff and attitudes were terrible.

Fantastic experience: The cardiologist at Sage was recommended by my dog’s primary MD. She was very helpful in assessing our dog as well as explaining options for treatment. I really appreciate this hospital and it is the place I take my other dog for emergent conditions as well. I have had nothing but good experiences here. Thank you for providing care for our animals!

Fantastic experience: UPDATE: My MinPin passed several months ago, and now I've recently inherited a senior Goldendoodle who suddenly lost strength in his hind legs. I took him to Sage and received the same spectacular care as usual! I really do wish they could be his regular vet. :c) * * * I have taken my senior MinPin (who has chronic health issues) to the Sage ER multiple times, and if it weren't so far from my house, they would be my go-to vet for regular care. I have never had anything but swift, spectacular, and compassionate service from this team, in the most gorgeous pet hospital environment I've seen in the Bay Area. It's not the cheapest, but it's definitely the best!

The doctor showed compassion for my dog and did a great job of taking the history and explaining the treatment plan. Fantastic experience: We needed immediate care for our cat. Our cat had a dilated, cloudy and swollen eye. Dr. Wiggins (ophthalmologist) was kind enough to see her. We want to give a huge shout out to Sage. Thank you from the bottom of our heart.

Negative experience: Vet was professional but cold. No empathy Spent more time selling us on the “gold standard” of treatment options and tests to “rule out” what we all know she has. That option was $10,000. When we pushed back, he started unclicking boxes on the 90 inch screen and the price magically dropped 3k. I don’t think he owns a dog himself based on the way he reluctantly patted my dogs head when she came up to him. Look, I would spend 100k gladly to a vet that even acts like our dog was a member of the family which she is. But to be honest, I didn't feel any care or thought for the well being of my pet, just a profit center that up sells you the air filter with your oil change. When you worry more about cost structure than animal care people get turned off. I know I left feeling that places like Sage and Iron Horse take the “care” out of care giver and I would never go back. Both places upsell and take advantage of your love for your pet. Guess that’s how they pay for the two story building and the 90 inch monitors. No thanks! I will take my pet to where the techs and vets actually own and love their pets! You can see it the minute you walk in the door. My experience! I felt that it was cold, uncaring and more about price than care. “Gold standard” funny phrase because anything less means you don’t care as much as you should for your pet. Thanks for the guild trip and the $400 consultation sage!!

Fantastic experience: I brought my cat, Charlie, in to an appointment with the cardiologist, Dr. Lori Siemens. Charlie was hyperventilating from the car ride. The emergency technician took him into emergency immediately and gave him oxygen. We met with Dr. Siemens after she evaluated him. She was terrific! She explained all the aspects of Charlie’s heart condition and what to do going forward. The entire staff was helpful and considerate. I highly recommend pet parents to take their fur babies to SAGE for treatment.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience. Everyone was so nice and helpful. The communication was outstanding, as good as it could have been. The staff showed true care. I would highly recommend.

Positive experience: Gotten prohibited expensive and more geared to the bottom line than caring about my dog. My dog was distraught for. 4 plus hours after being released, likely having to do with the meds used to sedate him. Having said that, the dog seems much better after the visit and we’re happy about that!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Linsay Swirble was very good. She took good care of our cat and gave us good information to go home with. We have used Sage before, and all of the Doctors are top shelf.

Fantastic experience: Called prior to taking our 60 lb mixed terrier/shepherd, Ginger, for emergent care at 2 AM Saturday, due to nausea vomiting and diarrhea x 3 days. Received the best care from time of phone call, triage, and Dr. Lindsay Swirble’s assessment and treatment. Doc was transparent with treatment plan and cost (not cheap, but our fur baby is worth every $$$!). She was so kind and gentle towards our already anxious baby girl. Fortunately her X-rays and labs were all good! Ginger received the usual GI cocktail for gastroenteritis. She is feeling much better and up to par, though still monitoring her. Definitely a 5 star rating! Not to mention the facility is state of the art. Thanks a million trillion to Brooke, ED staff and most of all, Dr Swirble. Your calming bedside manner is impeccable.

Fantastic experience: After having a major surgery at my veterinary hospital, my dog needed post surgery care. Sage Verterinary Center, Concord was contacted by my vet to prepare for transfer. The team was very welcoming, professional, and compassionate taking care of him for his post surgery monitoring. I would highly recommend them for all your pet's medical needs!

Negative experience: Waited 3 hours to see if sutures had detached from my pup. After exam, charged 150 bucks to say that they were okay. It is our first time w a hurt dog but not a fan.

Negative experience: I arrived with my BabyNina (doggie) as a referral from Apollo , they already had done X-rays , fluids , ivy fluids , reason i had to take her to sage bc she needed hospitalization over night , Apollo closed at 9pm . Sage quoted me with $4500+ as a deposit , i made the payment . Vet called me asking questions about her condition and said he was going to call me back , never got a called , i arrived around 2 . He said she has 2 tumors and basically to put her down , he said she is not eating or walking, nurse never fed my dog since last night until i arrived at 2 pm , i fed her myself, used excuse bc of the ultrasound, that was done in the morning, she said she offered kibble her kibble , to a sick dog ! WTH!!! I asked her to bring me baby food and she ate 2 jars plus some wet food Doctor decided to release Nina to me right away but i asked them to keep providing IV fluids for few more hours , i picked her up at 7 , they took an hr , me waiting , stupid nurse brought her to me with no blanket or towel , i said WTH! Don’t go to sage

Negative experience: The intake nurse was awesome, but the doctor not so much. She gave us poor advice to wait 10-14 days for our dog to improve before escalating. When I got second and third opinions from other vets, they said that’s way too long to wait and I should escalate sooner. They also prescribed a medication that isn’t typically standard for my dog’s condition according to our other vet and resulted in some unnecessary side effects. I’m really sad that we came to Sage instead of simply waiting for our usual clinics.

Fantastic experience: Our English Bulldog needed a cardiac echo. Friendly staff and clean clinic. The Tech was smart and kind. The Cardiologist was warm and knowledgeable, got us in and out efficiently.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Sara Johns is an amazing vet with excellent bedside manner, exemplary pet care, and thorough explanations. She takes the time to listen, respond to questions and concerns, and formulate a treatment plan for the pet. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience, and I recommend her to anyone in need of a veterinary cardiologist for their pet.

Fantastic experience: Great vet hospital. They have a great emergency department and a lot of specialists as well. My dog’s ER visit turned into a hospital stay requiring specialists so it was helpful to have her there. The doctors and nurses there are very good - talented, compassionate, and professional. Special thanks to Dr Liu and Dr Jack. I hope I never have to take my dog to the ER again, but if I do, it will definitely be to Sage Concord.

Fantastic experience: I brought my sweet girl for a Cardiology consult with Dr. Lori Siemens. Thankfully, after completing her ECHO and ECG, we do not have to continue Cardiology visits or interventions. That being said, Dr. Siemens is lovely. If I had to establish a Cardiologist for my baby, she would be my choice. Very friendly, excellent patient education, and above all you can tell she loves her patients and what she does. Thank you Dr. Siemens!!

Fantastic experience: Pricey, but how can you put a price on the life & care for your pet? After my dog suffered a stroke and massive seizure, I was devastated. SAGE is one of the very few pet hospitals who have a neurologist on-staff. Dr. Griffin and his team went above and beyond to comfort my pup when she was so scared, confused, and struggling--she's back home and on the mend thanks to her incredible neurology team!

Fantastic experience: Had the best care as we always have. Called the next day and my questions were answered completely. All had amazing positive attitudes and were great. So appreciative of having Sage close.

Positive experience: This vet is the most risk averse vet I’ve encountered. I feel that my pet is safe in their hands, but I also feel that this has resulted in outrageously exorbitant costs that are also too much to bear for the average person. I feel that the worst case scenario is what they describe and what they predict, which isn’t necessarily based on the most likely/typical scenario. So while they clearly care about the well being of my animal, they don’t care at all about assisting or offering solutions for the average middle class person with budgetary constraints.

Fantastic experience: I’ve taken my dog, Jack, to Sage in Concord twice, once for an emergency and the second time for an echo.Both times I’ve gotten the best care. Doctors, nurses, and techs are very friendly and show they care deeply for your pet. I would definitely recommend for any emergency or referral given.

Fantastic experience: Sage Centers, Santa Clara and Concord saved Noah, our furry son’s life from congestive heart failure. Same quality of standard no mater where you go. What is special about Concord is the people. They took care of him like family from the front line to nurses to doctors to customers - and that is rare for an emergency vet clinic. No matter how great your equipment are, it will always boils down to the people.They truly care. They do not sugar coat to make you feel better. Again, thank you for the quality care and love you gave Noah.

Fantastic experience: Visited on may 1st 2025- As always the staff are polite and caring. This was the first time there was next to no wait. Phew-since it was after 10pm. I’ve had nothing but positive experiences here. Both for ongoing specialty care with my last dog, and with emergency care. Also had an excellent experience when my 6year old dog needed abdominal cryptorchid surgery due to testicles not found by 1st vet’s attempt The pricing seems comparable to other vets in the area. Certainly seems on a par with other emergency vets. I appreciate that Sage provides 24/7 care and has a wide range of diagnostic services so the almost everything can be done in-house

Fantastic experience: SAGE is a great place to go when my dog’s facial cheek swells up. This appt was for a surgical consult. A perfect DR who, I’m sad to say is moving on. His questions and answers were easy going with all the information I needed. And he invited me to interrupt him, which was helpful to me as I forget my questions. He told me about other good SAGE surgeons and gave me three alternative clinics to check with regarding price and availability. I’m also giving kudos to the male vet RN who was as helpful and kind, as is all the staff.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Jack M. in Emergency and Dr. Johns in Cardio were both very patient, explanatory and caring. I felt my pet received good and thoughtful care from them.

Fantastic experience: The vet is patient. I feel not pressured or rushed into anything. I was able to learn to about the options for treatments and go over the concerns about medicines/side affects or anything I should be aware of and looking out for my little grandpa (15 years old mixed terrier). Staff at the front desk is polite and friendly while there are others aren’t interpersonal. There’s a small space for you to take your furry baby to use bathroom right outside the waiting area. Very thoughtful layout and environment for both pets and pet owners.

Negative experience: This is a terrible vet clinic. My Mom had to take out dog in as he obviously had a bowel obstruction, but for some reason when our dog was there they noticed he had cardio myopathy and decided to ignore the current symptoms and issues and decided that this was the only thing that mattered. We did not receive any of his diagnostics or tests and were given a care plan that included potentially flying him out for the country for surgery. The end result is that our dog's symptoms and immediate need/discomfort were ignored. I understand addressing a larger issue but the reason he came in is still unresolved and THAT is what needed attention. We could have addressed both. I'll give more of an update as I'm sure he isn't dying today from cardiomyopathy and all the grass he has eaten and is coming out is more of a contributor to the issue. Seems like a total money grab.

Fantastic experience: My kitty had to have eye surgery and I was a nervous wreck! Both assistant and the doctor were so good from the first consult to the post op appt. Very thorough explanations, empathetic, and wonderful manner with my kitty. He was in such good hands and I was so grateful!

Fantastic experience: Very kind and compassionate staff. Very clean and neat facility . Despite the circumstances for having to be there, I could not have been more pleased. I would highly recommend this pet hospital to anyone needing this type of vet service. And the one stand out employee who needs extra recognition a huge raise is the assistant Jannell!!! She gets 10 stars in my book! And why 10 stars? Because her extraordinary kindness and compassion in my moment of fear for my beloved pet will forever be a memory in my life that I will always carry with me!

Fantastic experience: The doctor was very thorough and Knowledgeable. She patiently answered all my many questions and gave me options. It was all rather expensive, but these doctors are specialists as opposed to the general practitioners at the local veterinary clinic. The nurse was terrific. Went over a d beyond to make it a stress free painless visit for my dog, and to offer financial options to ease the burden of payment.

Fantastic experience: Staff was great, starting at the front desk, nurses and doctors, everyone was so helpful, compassionate and took care of my kitty right away. I can't express how grateful I am for all of you. The hours are great, you can't ask for more... It is a blessing to have such a good care in my area. Prices are a little high but everything in the Bay Area is, so, I can't complain, I am just amazed by your care, I will come back if I have to! Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Brought my itty bitty old lady kitty to Sage after my primary vet advise I take her in. The staff at the front were patient and kind, and even explained my statements to me so I could submit insurance claims The vet tech Dan was friendly, gentle and affectionate with my cat. Dr. Jack Meagher was thorough in our options and was both compassionate and confident in his recommendations. The tech who gave our kitty their discharge care, Danny (sp?), was friendly and thorough about our discharge instructions... Overall the best experience I've had during a scary situation.

Fantastic experience: Sage Veterinary Ctr in Concord provides best customer service and care for my dog. The atmosphere is clean and well organized. I took my dog there twice due to his back pain. Both Dr. Wong and Dr. Steele prescribed some medications to cure his pain. It seemed working gradually.

Negative experience: I was away on a trip and I had family take my pet to the vet while I was away. They were SO unhelpful. They come across as lazy, I didn’t have a good experience and my pet was very sick and close to passing away. I didn’t trust their opinion so I went to get a second opinion at another vet and called sage so they can send the result to the other vet and they never did. We called 6 time, we emailed and nothing. Additionally the girl working Shauna was so rude. It was 1am we waited and waited and we never got any results. I will never recommend this vet to anyone. Lack of empathy, customer service, just terrible overall

Fantastic experience: Great place i eas very satisfied with the cate my dog received. I got fantastic description of his test results, I even got a pdf of his echocardiogram. So cool. Will be bringing my dog back for a follow up in 6 months.

Fantastic experience: We drove from Davis to Concord so our dog could be evaluated by Dr Siemans. Dr Siemans managed our previous dog's heart health over 20yrs. Her knowledge, expertise, professionalism and genuine caring attention is the perfect recipe for optimal care. If only we humans could find this qualified and compassionate medical attention! The Sage Staff were all very pleasant and secured an appointment for our dog in a timely manner. We are so grateful Dr Siemans continues her practice at such a welcoming facility as Sage.

Fantastic experience: Prior to this ER visit with my 5 month old pup, I spent a lot of time here with my Kona for cancer treatment and my Lola for various medical issues and SAGE Concord has always taken the best care of my pups. Kind, caring and respectful to all of us. SAGE Concord is always my go to for an ER visit

Negative experience: We've had to use Sage twice. Both times we have gone there it feels like you're being seen by used car salesmen rather than vets. Our dog came in with bloody diarrhea and vomiting and when they saw our dog they did their physical exam which was good, but then they leave and a vet tech comes back and they had written over $3,500 worth of labs. Some of these tests were hormone tests because we said we have a nervous dog that had nothing to do with why we came in. This is an EMERGENCY VET where you should be treating the acute illness and stabilizing your pet so it can be safely discharged to be followed up with the primary vet. Not taking advantage of people when their pets are sick with tests completely unrelated to why they are there. They tried to prescribe a fiber supplement which seems fine for diarrhea, but they were going to charge $150 for a couple pills. You can get the same fiber supplement in bulk at the grocery store for $10. Vet tech recommended we use the bulk supplement so we appreciate that. Stop taking advantage of people who are worried about their pet and treat the animals. I'm sure it's not the actual vets that are being pushed to queue up every possible test that exists, but this model is wrong. One star because they serve a purpose, but I wish I could give them zero.

Negative experience: Our dog suffered a spinal injury, which we brought her to Sage because the reputation was one of the best. After spending over $20,000 on diagnosis, supportive care, and surgery, our dog’s recovery quickly declined after only a few weeks - well within the six week window we were told for recovery. We followed the guidance to the “T”, and fulfilled all needs without hesitation. However, when we contacted Sage about the development, they suggested we bring the dog back in at full price for new care. Keep in mind it was over $5,000 just to get an idea of what was going on initially. This lack of follow on care is unacceptable with the amount of money we were charged and the prognosis given. Despite having a wonderful experience with the Doctor who cared for our dog, the callousness and disregard for our situation is alarming and I would suggest prospective customers look elsewhere.

Positive experience: Brought my dog in because she was having some symptoms that were super concerning. The doctors were fine and we appreciate them treating our pet. I didn’t have issue with them, but one of the vet techs seemed off and was condescending when my family would ask questions. We’d read things online and thought we’d ask them for clarification - because some information is useful and some isn’t. We were stressed and worried about our pet and it was the middle of the night, there was no need for Breanna or however you spell her name to be condescending and short with her replies. Unfortunately, we experienced that two nights in a row with her. My only other complaint was that they wanted to charge us like $100 for a medication that was ~$20 at BandanaRx pet pharmacy on Imhoff drive in concord. They didn’t even mention that pharmacy as an option. If you go there and are stressed about some of the oral meds your pet needs, ask for a prescription and go somewhere else to get it. I would have given 5 stars if not for those two complaints because the front desk staff and doctors were nice and helped get my dog back to her normal self.

Fantastic experience: Quick and easy process to check in. Barely sat down before the vet tech came to get us out of the lobby to see the vet. Very clean and nice facility. The staff was friendly and very professional too!

Fantastic experience: SAGE is an excellent organization and provides a level of care and expertise not found at other veterinary organizations. They are pricy but worth the cost for the care provided. I especially want to thank Dr. Lori Siemens who is the only cardiologist I would bring my dogs to.

Fantastic experience: Two things about my visit to Sage- Expensive & Great experience. I did see an ophthalmologist for my cat, so I knew it would be costly, but he was very thorough, gave me answers and a plan of action. The entire staff needs to be commended for their kindness and professionalism too.

Fantastic experience: An Emergency visit on Sunday morning. My dog had diarrhea in got worse after 3 days, I took her to Sage for treatment. Front desk folks were super nice and professional! Dr. Swirble and nurse Christine were very nice and professional! Today is Tuesday and my pup is back on her feet and begging for treats Thank you so much Dr. Swirble, nurse Christine and staff at Sage Concord for taking good care of my dog. This was our second visit to Sage Concord, and both visits are excellent! Highly recommended!!!

Positive experience: I had a good experience, It WAS a slow day there when I showed up. I have been there when there are 10 folks ahead all needing emergency care (No appointment). So my buddy was able to be taken in back and examined quickly, and a care plan established. Expensive, but in a time of need, you do what you have to do. I just worry about the folks with less extra funds...

Fantastic experience: My 9 month old puppy got a hold of and ate a whole package of xylitol gum. Very toxic for a dog. I took her to a local pet hospital and they kept saying it was Marijuana poisoning. I don't use it or have any remotely close. They were so inept I pulled my dog out and raced her to Sage. Dr. Jack was amazing. He knew just what to do. He helped me calm down and had a plan immediately. 4 days later she is fine and I cannot recommend Sage enough.

Fantastic experience: So organized, gracious and very clear and compassionate in their care. My old fellow has a laundry list of issues and they took the time to carefully explain everything, and provide me with written information. The place is spotless and the staff are wonderful!

Positive experience: Clean and spacious. The nurses were warm and friendly. The vet was nice and thorough. The woman who was responsible for the estimate and final bill was rude. And it took her so long to get these financials to us at the beginning and the end of a very long night. She made me feel guilty for questioning the estimate and bill. I’m sure many can afford any costs, but many can’t also. Yet we all love our pets the same. A little kindness and understanding could have gone a long way for a worried pet parent. When our pet was ready to go, we had to wait about 45 minutes for the bill to be “sent up front”. I asked if we could just have our pet to cuddle and reassure while waiting, we were told not until the bill was sent up. Sadly a few negative encounters when you are worried and stressed seemed to color our experience.

Fantastic experience: I have the utmost thanks to everyone at SAGE for taking the best care of my baby, Foxy. Dr. Jack could not have been more friendly, informative and thorough in every aspect of his loving care. All staff members were extremely kind and helpful to make my experience the best possible. I will always come back to SAGE!!

Fantastic experience: I went to Sage because many friends had ONLY good things to say about it. Sage was able to schedule a prompt appointment for my cat. The receptionist, vet tech, and doctor all gave me a feeling of confidence. The examination, consultation, and the suggestions for treatment were thorough. Their understanding of my cat's condition was professional and gentle. I appreciate their kindness as much as their knowledge.

Fantastic experience: My dog had been on my vet's all day due to diarrhea. When I got home with him he was limping. Too late to go back to my vet and with the other problems I didn't want to waited until the morning. Only 1 vet on that night since Tuesday are slow. It looked more like a Saturday night. Had a long wait, but the staff was great. The dog had two episodes of diarrhea that had to be cleaned up. I was even given some Chux to take home. Dr. del Campo accessed Max and gave pain meds. The long wait was because two more critical dogs came in after me. The staff was under a great deal of stress, but everyone was caring and prefessional.

Fantastic experience: We are incredibly grateful for Sage, who literally saved our cat's life after a nasty infection that our regular vet hadn't detected. They were professional, compassionate, and timely with their care. While I hope you never have to come to them and your pets are forever safe, if you do need emergency help - they are a reliable practice.
