Fantastic experience: Dr Sullivan checked out our limping 9 yr old. The staff gave Paco an expedited appointment. He is a very active dog who made a bad landing from his perch in the window to the futon and then the floor. Dr. and staff were very thorough. He's now happily back in his spot playing guard dog. We are so happy with the services we receive from all the Red Bluff facilities. We use all of them.

Fantastic experience: I was recommended by a friend and I am truly very happy that I brought Gizmo in. They took great care of him. The techs amd veterinarians are very caring and sweet to my little man. They didnt twist my arm into doing any unnecessary tests, they are doing what is needed to diagnose the problem. There wasn't a long wait time and its a very clean facility. Gizmo and I will be back next year for his routine checkups. Great place to take your pet. I had to come back for his Rabies vaccine and Bordetello. Again my veterinarian was amazing and im very happy with the quality and great service provided to Gizmo and I. Thank you all!

Fantastic experience: I have used Red Bluff Animal Hospital for two decades. I have always received caring, professional help for my fur babies. They have been through some sad times and good times through the years with my fur babies and I. Additionally, I have to used their grooming facility ever since it was opened and have always been very pleased with how my sweet dog looks. He is too!

Fantastic experience: Brought in a sick cat. After examination and some testing it was determined that my cat was in the late stage of FIP. Vet informed me of my options and discussed the survival chances for my cat after treatment. She was very informative and compassionate. I opted for euthanasia as his chances were very poor and he was suffering. The veterinary staff service was excellent.

Fantastic experience: Ok, I don’t normally do this but this place deserves a good review. I’ve been using Red Bluff animal hospital and Red Bluff animal resort for just over a year and will continue to use them. Prices are fair I believe. The facility and atmosphere seem warm and welcoming. The staff are all very well mannered and professional. The prices I’m not sure about but if I had to guess then I’d say the prices are fair. I would recommend Red Bluff animal clinic to anyone. The treatment my dog receives is very important to me and so I have zero complaints and therefore I will always use their services. Oh, I have used the grooming place next door and received a big discount one time because of some point system they use and it was a big enough discount that really made me happy. I think it was about a $70 discount and that’s huge when you’re not expecting a discount at all. I will recommend this business to anyone with an animal.

Fantastic experience: I love Red Bluff Animal Hospital. I have used them since late 1980's for all of my 4 dogs. Dr. Sullivan is a very loving, caring vet. Even after moving away from Pasadena, I still went even after getting a new dog that they had never seen.

Negative experience: I did not visit this place. I had an appointment for my very sick pup to have an ultra sound in the am of 12/22. They called a little after 7am to reschedule (I already paid up front for the procedure) they offered tomorrow 12/23 but my Neice is having back surgery at 11 am and I have to take her for that. Then they offered 12/30. My pup may be dead by then is my first thought. I told her no. Can they refund my $ so they are doing that. I am very disappointed in the lack of professionalism to care for a sick patient.

Negative experience: The front office reps are horrible. If it’s towards the end of the day , they want to pack up their things rushing to leave while customers are still there asking questions regarding next time flea medicine / appointments. This has caused our spay surgery appointment to be canceled because they forgot which surgeon that was going to perform the surgery. I am super disappointed with this hospital and how they handle things with their prices being SUPER expensive. Even their grooming , horrible service . They are always super late and will push your pups time just because they will prioritize another pup. The appointment times are not accurate at all!!

Your pet’s spay surgery was originally scheduled with Dr. Dougherty, who your pet had seen previously. Unfortunately, Dr. Dougherty became ill and was unable to be in the hospital that day. While Dr. Kleck was available in the hospital, his schedule was already fully booked with surgeries and medical appointments, making it impossible to transfer the procedure to him on short notice.

Our team did offer alternative dates to reschedule the surgery with either doctor, however, those options were declined. At no point was the cancellation related to our front office staff “forgetting” which doctor was assigned.

Regarding appointment timing and grooming schedules: while we strive to stay on time, medical and grooming services involve live animals, and patient safety and welfare must always take priority. This can occasionally lead to unavoidable delays, which we do our best to communicate as clearly as possible.

We understand how frustrating changes and delays can be and regret that this situation did not meet your expectations. Our goal is always to provide safe, high-quality care with clear communication, and we continually work with our team to improve our processes and client experience.

Fantastic experience: This is a sister clinic to Richey animal clinic which we took our first dog for 141/2 years. Unfortunately we had to put him down because he was really sick. Now that we have another dog and we live in Deer park this location is better for us. Dr. Kleck is amazing with our dog.

Fantastic experience: I'll start by saying that I brought my 7 year old English Bulldog to Red Bluff Animal Hospital her entire life. If you know anything about the breed, you know they tend to have a lot of health problems. Pebbles was no exception. Dr. Kleck and his team never disappointed and it meant the world to have an extremely knowledgeable, trustworthy, and friendly team I knew I could count on to nurse my baby back to health - each and every time. 2 years ago, we moved to Spring, TX which is an hour away, and I would still make the drive to RBAH because of the level of trust I have in them. Not to mention how much Pebbles herself loved the team. Recently, we had to make the impossible decision of laying Ms. Pebbles to rest. Dr. Kleck and his team at RBAH made an incredibly difficult and painful situation as easy as it could have been. I will never forget the level of care and sympathy my husband and I received that day and after. They gave us all the time we needed to say our goodbyes and I never felt rushed. While I wish more than anything she was still here with us, I take comfort in knowing that when she went to Doggy Heaven, she was in the hands of a team that truly cared about her and her wellbeing. I can't recommend this establishment enough. Thank you Dr. Kleck and team - for everything. You guys are truly the best.

Negative experience: My mother had a TERRIBLE experience at this clinic. She was treated with the upmost disrespect from both the techs and the doctor at this clinic. When we had to put our shih Tzu down they were rushing her out of the room when trying to say her goodbyes. My mother, who was already having to deal with the loss of our beloved dog, she was NOT given the time she needed to say her goodbyes. This was completely heartless and I hope no one else has to deal with this trauma. We will not be going back and if I could put no stars I would!

Negative experience: I took my cat, Rocket, here a couple months before she passed. She died from lung cancer and was only 4 pounds when I brought her. Dr. David Kleck was the “doctor” I spoke with and the one to check her. He saw her weight and started talking about a million different things it could be, same as all the other ones I took her to but never once told me anything about how to get her weight up. My bf and I were looking into appetite Stimulants at the time for cats and right at the end of our appointment I finally asked about her weight and if I could get any recommendations. This man ever once said anything about a 15 y/o cat being 4. He saw her breathing and weight and didn’t even bat an eye. He seemed to not care. If you want an AMAZING team behind you and your pet I suggest VCA animal clinic or if your willing to drive 30 mins La Porte animal clinic. They took her condition very seriously and we started treatment the minute the doctors finished their evaluation. Dr. Graham from La Porte animal clinic through everything at the wall.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service! The place is clean and everyone is professional. My cat was in for a ultrasound of her stomach area. My cat does not like to be touch in the stomach plus they had to shave her tummy. But they were able to get it done without sediation and in a timely manner. The veterinarian explain to me in detail the images of the ultrasound. She also explain to me what steps I need to take if things changed. The ultrasound was reasonably price too. I will most definitely come her again in the future.

Fantastic experience: I have 2 large Carne Corsos and we came in for check up, yes they can be a hand full. Because they are large, and they were nervous. Some people would be nervous because they can look scary, but they are really huge teddy bears. Yall were very professional and helpful in every way. I have never gotten or have I ever heard of better care and compassion given from and other Animal Hospital, Veterinary office, or actual Dr. office for that matter. Fantastic experience: GLAD, I WAS WRONG!! I will admit, I was dubious of this MEGA-center location with its huge, fancy new facilities. My expectation was that it would be all flashy, expensive, and very impersonal. Boy, I was mistaken!! We chose Red Bluff Animal Hospital because it is so close...and they had quick availability to neuter our sweet Casper. My expectations were shattered to pieces! Yes, this place is enormous, beautiful, and professional. But, they are also extremely efficient, responsive, and most importantly, warm, friendly, and caring!!! We were so nervous leaving our baby with strangers...but Dr. Sullivan and his staff were sweet, calm, and understanding. The facility kept me in the loop during the whole procedure. They make it very clear that your pet and his recovery are their priority! And, the icing on the cake...their care is reasonably priced!! It was much less than our old vet clinic which didn’t offer nearly as much flexibility and ambience. So happy to say, Red Bluff Animal Clinic and Dr. Sullivan are our new veterinary home!!

Fantastic experience: Always the best treatment here. The crew is super sweet and friendly. Especially to my kids, if u only talk to my kids im fine with that . The doctors are also always amazing and super friendly. It’s about 30 mins from me but I will make the drive everytime. Fantastic experience: I took our cat in today because of some issues he was having. I knew it might possibly be something serious, and it turned out that it was. There's no cure, but they could manage his symtoms. However, because of his age, I made the decision to let him go. I couldn't have asked for a more compassionate team. Red Bluff Animal Hospital has been treating our pets for nearly 50 years, and I highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Best vet I have ever had, and I've had animals, my whole life. They are always willing to work with me even when I'm running late from work, and it's time to get my cats shot. Negative experience: I’ve had positive experiences at this clinic in the past, but unfortunately, today was very disappointing and has completely changed my opinion. I scheduled an appointment for 3:50 PM and called around 1:45 PM to ask if I could arrive early. I was told over the phone that arriving within the next 45 minutes would be fine and that my pet, Bella, could be seen early. I drive 40 minutes to this clinic, so I appreciated the flexibility. I arrived at 2:35 PM, was checked in by the front desk staff, and one of them even mentioned she was preparing the room. I then overheard some conversation in the back that included Bella’s name. Moments later, both front desk staff came back out and told me I would not be seen early after all and would need to wait until my original appointment time. When I politely asked why I had been told otherwise over the phone and upon arrival, one of the staff members abruptly asked, “Are you going to wait or not?” I declined and chose to leave without being seen. The lack of professionalism and courtesy in how this was handled was really disappointing. There are many ways this situation could have been communicated more clearly and respectfully — even a simple explanation about the doctor running behind would have been understandable. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad impression, and I will not be returning.

Negative experience: I am a Min Pin rescue and all of my annual or simple veterinarian needs are handled by the Houston Humane Society. I am struggling to find a good local vet for my emergencies or needs which would be delayed trying to get in to the HHS. Deer Park became too expensive when they moved. Spencer Road skimmed my credit card my only visit there. And today I came to you with a senior dog bleeding so much from the mouth she is ingesting it and then pooping it lout loosely. I knew that walking in the door and explained that to the girl she pooped on while being carried from the blood work. I fully understood when I walked in the door, my dog lost a lower incisor and it was bleeding more than I was comfortable just letting it bleed and heal. When the doctor walked in to see me she said the problem with my dog was not the mouth bleeding, but the lower Gi tract with the diarrhea. She said that is my bleeding, and not the mouth. We need to focus there. To which I replied "So the missing tooth, the blood where the tooth was located last week, the dried blood all over her mouth and nose, the long clotted blood drip she had hanging from her mouth this morning, the dried blood on her arms and neck have nothing to do with why she has the diarrhea?" and she pretty much focused at first on stopping the bloody diarrhea and not the heavy loss of blood in the mouth which is creating the diarrhea she wants to stop. After she let what she saw and what I said sink in, she seemed to reluctantly treat the bleeding mouth problem. Then, I had so much blood coming out both ends of my dog, and it took you 2 different attempts to get enough blood for the heartworm test while I was there. All of this on my first visit, to see if you can be my go to local veterinarian and save the trip to HHS. I take the time to write all this, so you might understand why some people are not coming back after their first visit. Sure the building is nice and new, but the inside is the part that matters. Today was not a good visit for me. A visit where I walked in the door trying to make it easy on you to know what was wrong. I even brought photos of the blood and how she would lay with her head hung and the blood pool on the carpet. The assistant said to show them to the doctor. I doubt the doctor even looked when i held my phone up. If she did look, I'm sure i would feel as if she paid attention to me and communicated as well as I was communicating to your staff. The visit bothered me enough to sit down and write this to document my visit. I hope this helps you listen to your patients and understand some of us do know what is wrong with our pet when we walk in the door for your help.

Fantastic experience: We love Red Bluff Animal Hospital. We use Dr. Kleck, but the entire staff is so professional. As the mama of a pitbull, it’s rare to engage with folks who see her for how gentle she is, even if she bristles when she’s afraid. They have helped my pup with anxiety, allergies, and general wellness and prevention. I highly recommend them for all your veterinary needs!

Fantastic experience: I’ve had consistently positive experiences with Red Bluff Veterinary Clinic and Dr. Dougherty. The care and attention they show to both pets and owners is evident from the moment you walk in. Dr. Dougherty is thorough, thoughtful, and takes the time to explain things clearly, which I really appreciate. The staff is friendly, professional, and attentive. They’ve always been so gentle and patient with my fur baby, Milo, which means a lot to me. The clinic has a calm and welcoming atmosphere, and I truly feel Milo is in good hands each time we visit. It’s a comfort to know we have a veterinary team we can trust.

Fantastic experience: June 28 2025. I've been using RBAH 16 years now. My first 3 chihuahuas are gone now with my first dog Bleu Boy passing at 16 yr 4 months. I now have Gigi a rescue Papillion..and established care w Dr Kleck today...I have the utmost respect for him and waited until he returned from vacation to take Gigi to see him. 10/10 stars

Negative experience: After over 30 years of owning and caring for animals, I’ve never encountered such appalling behavior from a veterinary professional. A close family member brought a reptile to this clinic seeking help, compassion, and answers. Instead, we were met with a veterinarian who displayed zero bedside manner, an astonishing lack of empathy, and a truly condescending attitude. To be told—coldly and without compassion—that the animal was going to die anyway, followed by a string of blame for everything already done, is absolutely unacceptable. A real professional takes the time to educate, not belittle. They guide with empathy, not arrogance. Instead, this doctor chose to judge, dismiss, and speak to us as though we were ignorant, offering multiple prescriptions and treatments only to turn around and say they were futile. What’s worse, the person bringing the animal in is a registered nurse—someone who understands the importance of treating both patient and caregiver with dignity and respect. Her compassion for animals far outshines the conduct we experienced from this so-called professional. If you're looking for care that honors your concern, respects your effort, and genuinely works to help your animal, I strongly recommend Safari Exotic Animal Clinic in the League City/Webster area. Their expertise and bedside manner are leagues beyond what we encountered here. Shame on this clinic for turning an already emotional situation into something even more hurtful. We came for help. What we received was judgment.

Fantastic experience: I have been utilizing RBAH for a few years for my small business. My niche business specializes in small exotic reptiles and amphibians. Dr Dougherty does a great job at ensuring that all the proper tests are being completed, thorough communication, pricing is adequate with the services being provided; and she is always upfront and to the point with what is required and why. I have been to many other exotic vets in Houston, and I can comfortably say that I feel very confident when taking my scaley and furry friends there to be evaluated and I am not just getting an "open the textbook and guess" reptile vet. We are lucky to have someone like her in the Houston area. I do know that RBAH has gone through some growing pains after upgrading their building, which is to be expected. Even so, I still get good service with reliable and up-front pricing.

Fantastic experience: Always have a great experience. Everyone is kind from the front staff, vet tech and the vets. They even suggested sending daily photo updates thru text when my baby was injured and got feedback from the doc when I had questions (which was often). This alleviated my anxiety tremendously and I would have been an absolute wreck without their compassion and responsiveness.

Negative experience: I took my cat here last month due to chronic bloody diarrhea. They charged me for a fecal test, even though the sample wand came out empty, and dismissed his condition as a food sensitivity. On my way home, I realized they hadn't provided any dietary recommendations or prescribed anything to ease his diarrhea. I had to call back and ask, and only then was he given medication for his stomach that did nothing to help him. His symptoms persisted, so I took him to another vet who took his condition seriously and ran a comprehensive diarrhea panel. The results came back positive for Cryptosporidium, Coronavirus, Campylobacter, and Clostridium Perfringens—one of which, Campylobacter, is contagious to humans. Had I trusted the diagnosis from the doctor at Red Bluff Animal Hospital, my cat would have continued suffering from an undiagnosed condition, and we would have unknowingly been at risk of infection without taking extra precautions to protect ourselves. Would I recommend Red Bluff Animal Hospital? Absolutely not!

Fantastic experience: The greatest vet around. Honestly. I took my dog to multiple vets and all told me I should just put her down but when I brought her here, Dr Sullivan knew exactly what was wrong and within a day she was back to normal. Fantastic experience: We have had wonderful experiences with Dr. Sullivan and his staff at Red Bluff Animal Hospital and Pet Resort. Every time we have needed them, they have gotten us in and seen promptly. Everyone is so professional and I feel very comfortable with them caring for our dog. Fantastic experience: Dr Steve is a compassionate and knowledgeable doctor. You can tell with the many positive reviews that this office is great with your pets. While no provider can be perfect, Red Bluff Animal clinic and Dr Steve are pretty close.

Negative experience: Recently started bringing my pup here. The wait times are pretty bad but I can look past that. My last visit was completely unacceptable though. After waiting 40 minutes past my appointment time it was finally my turn. Dr. Kleck was awful and in and out in 3 minutes. He palpated my dog’s belly and listened to her heart. That’s it. Didn’t feel her joints, look at her ears, her eyes, her mouth. NOTHING. Still dumbfounded paying $67 for that “exam”. Completely unprofessional and it was obvious they didn’t care about my dog at all. Just wanted their money for her yearly checkup without actually checking her over to make sure she was healthy. On the hunt for a new vet again.

Fantastic experience: I was recommended this vet for my reptiles. I brought in my sick corn snake and they were so good with him and did a very thorough exam and treatment plan. They took the time to understand all the pieces before suggesting the treatment that would be best for him as a scaless snake. The whole office was great and they personalized his bag of medications. Very reasonable cost as well!

Negative experience: Unfortunately, my mother’s cat died while being neutered. While on the phone with her they told her she didn’t get the optional blood work. She was not properly informed of the risks and benefits of blood work and was told the cat is 3 yrs old and would be fine. When I went to go wrap everything up and get the details on the matter I was not confronted with any compassion from the veterinarian. We waited almost an hour and a half with our dead cat for him to talk to us. He pointed blame on everyone else and accused her of not being able to read documented wavier she was never given to read in the first place. No one should ever tell someone who is not educated in medicine that getting blood work is optional before having a procedure. Going under anesthesia is a high risk procedure no matter what and they led My family to believe it wasn't needed and now our cat is dead. This is a very simple procedure that no family member should ever have to worry if their pet will return home after. This vet also, diagnosed my brothers cat with a UTI and he died a week later and then the vet offered his foot as a keychain. Edit: After speaking with my personal veterinarian who specializes in cats, the blood work listed on the form he accused my mom of not being able to read would not have found the underlying heart condition. She had also provided a lot of answers to the questions I had that were never answered. At this point in time I still would not recommend this establishment. Nothing will bring back our boy and there was nothing that could have been done BUT the way the veterinarian handled the situation was very unprofessional, degrading, and just rude. When something this catastrophic happens, the surgeon should not point blame and should provide some since of care and compassion towards the situation. I still think they should create a true SOP that all the staff in the clinic have to follow so everyone who walks in the door is fully informed on the decisions they are making because this cost a life and it could cost more.

Negative experience: Misdiagnosed my cat the first time with diabetes, second time in doctor was super dismissive, and third time they said he had kidney failure and needed to be put down. This last was the only accurate or compassionate assessment. having now tried two diff vets in the area I have a basis of comparison. This place is very mediocre. Even their annual checkup was mid. I've since taken my remaining cat elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: We love the resort staff! They always love when our phoebe shows up and take great care of her. The staff is very attentive and always happy to help. I recommend group play to those who need a place to have their puppers some exercise and social dog interaction. They care about all their doggie visitors.

Negative experience: Many years of using red bluff for vet (since old location), grooming, and boarding. Sad to say I am leaving. I have three dogs, I don’t squawk at the price, because I want good care for them and willing to pay for it. My last few visits I left with a bad taste. Brought two in for annual visit, listened to heart and felt hips. That was it. That’s not a thorough examination in my opinion. Last visit with my senior dog had two visits within a month for her declining health. Two vets both said contradicting things, when I questioned the second one and said that is complete opposite of what first one told me. He looked me dead in the face and said well I don’t know what you heard. Not helpful in a situation of a dog not eating for 3 days and refusing to get up. Recommended an anti acid. Pretty sure a 15 year old dog getting completely down twice in 5 weeks is a little more than an anti acid issue. Zero bedside manner or show of actual concern. I was there 3.5 hours for a regular cbc panel and for her to receive hydration. Which they completely overdid, she was sore for days after and wouldn’t let me touch her. It’s such a nice facility, tech and support staff are great. It’s time to update the vets there!

Fantastic experience: We had our 2 cats in for a nail trim and fit claw protectors. We recently had a very bad experience at another local business. However our experience here was exemplary. It is apparent from the moment you come though the door that this is a caring well run establishment. We will use again.

Negative experience: Initially, the office was great but that honeymoon phase was short-lived. We were looking for a dependable vet that could accommodate our travel lifestyle. As a travel nurse and on the move, we didn't want vets all over the country. We wanted to keep all our non-emergent vet care consolidated in one place- our hometown. The office said that'd be no issue but it's been nothing but a problem. Every refill I've requested has been denied or takes an act of God to get it completed. Any records we email to them NEVER gets uploaded to their profile so it appears they're past due on items when they definitely are not. Even after following up, it never makes it to their profile. I'm babysitting their staff and it's insanely frustrating. Just done!
