Fantastic experience: I came to them in such a bad state of stress, financially and physically, as I just had spinal fusion surgery. Jillian went above and beyond to help me explore every option to get my cat, Honey aka fat mama, the help she needed. I am forever grateful for her and her knowledge. Dr. Mercurio was also great. She called me right away and gave me different options for my situation as well as some very good information regarding Honey. All the staff I came in contact with was professional, nice, welcoming, greeted me with a smile, and was patient with me, which is so important for us cat parents when our babies aren't feeling great. I can not thank them enough. I would recommend this place first and forever for any kitty in need of an excellent veterinarian. Thee absolute best!!!

Fantastic experience: New patient sick visit and follow up care for my boy Taya. So this is my first time with them under stressful circumstances. The staff are very professional friendly caring kind people knowledgeable and patient. They explain everything clearly and offer very constructive compassionate care. Very easy to make an appointment quickly.very accommodating. The environment is very welcoming and clean . Cats are KING here!!! I’m grateful for the support and care my pet received. Very much recommend! Update…. They are also very good with following up after appointments…. Kitty is still very sick but with supportive care and advice ..he is as best as we can hope for. Final thoughts… Taya passed away Dec27th. His final days were peaceful. We are heartbroken -we miss him terribly…..and cannot wait to bring him home again. Jan 2nd - we received a beautiful message of sympathy from Dr Mercurio and the CityKitty team. Their thoughtfulness is beyond words.. brought a tear to my eye but warmth to the heart. Ty

Fantastic experience: They genuinely and truly care about their patients here. My late kitty Esther had been a patient at City Kitty since I moved to RI. The veterinarians and staff here gave her the utmost careful care and attention. This place is organized, attentive, knows cats, and they truly do care about your family member. Esther passed away last week, and the process at City Kitty was careful, loving, caring and compassionate for both me and my best friend. What really touched my heart and soul was the other day when I received a very sweet condolences envelope. I'm not sure I can actually express with words how much this gesture meant to me. I think this little gift may be my most prized possession. Thank you so much City Kitty. <3

Fantastic experience: We have been using City Kitty for the past several years for our cats Figgy and Poppy. They have always been attentive and thorough. Most recently we received an unfortunate diagnosis for our old grumpy and particular man Figgy and they were beyond compassionate, understanding, and reassuring as we prepared for the inevitable. Fantastic experience: Truly cannot say enough good things about this place. Our cat Whiskey was limping at home and they were able to squeeze us in same day to see him. The vet tech and vet showed so much love and compassion to not only our cat but to us as well. I've never seen staff love him as much as we do. They even called us the next day to see how Whiskey was doing. I will recommend them to anyone and everyone because every staff member truly loves what they do. Fantastic experience: My beloved cat died yesterday.. She was sick for about three weeks. City Kitty never turned me down when I asked them to see her; even though they had just seen her a few days ago. Dr. Mercurio ultimately suggested that Annie get a CT scan. That was done at Ocean State Vets; it showed a tumor in her nose and likely a brain tumor. So she was euthanized. Dr, Mercurio called me unsolicited to ask what had happened at Ocean State. I am so grateful to Dr. Mercurio, and staff including Kelli and Sky for their care and compassion. City Kitty is the best..

Fantastic experience: Everyone is very knowledgeable, professional, caring and always willing to help. Any of the vets or the techs will always call you to follow up on a visit if your cat is being treated for something. They are on the more expensive side for their services, but my cat is worth it. My cat goes in for blood work every 3 months and the techs are very good with her even though she is not good for them, she is totally afraid of being at the vets, but they are always trying to calm her and treat her with compassion. The doctor will call herself with the results of the blood test the next day and will not rush you off the phone until they answer all of my question. Since my cat is a senior cat I bring her in regularly and no matter what doctor is available they all are knowledgeable about her issues. If you are a cat lover City Kitty is the place to have them treated.

Fantastic experience: City Kitty has always treated us well. They really do care about our kitty's and treat us with respect. We have been taking our kitty's there for 20 years and would never go anywhere else. We have moved a little further away but the extra ride is well worth it. Just ask Teddy and Cooper !!!

Fantastic experience: We unfortunately had to make the decision to let go of our cat Dunkin Monkey. They were very supportive and the process was completely painless and peaceful for him. They had excellent cremation options for us as well.

The front desk staff are helpful and kind, and go out of their way to get answers to even the smallest questions. The techs and doctors are gentle with the cats and so, so knowledgeable! They really take the time to answer questions and give you the info you need. I am so appreciative of their care to my sweet cat and always recommend them when asked about local vets for cats!

Fantastic experience: I had went to 3 different emergency hospitals, and when I had given up all hope and had been advised to schedule euthanization appointment for my dear girl, I made an appointment with City Kitty as her primary office and prepared to say goodbye. However, when I got there, the vet wasn't ready to give up on my girl and they came up with a treatment plan and worked with me to save my girl. Now she's back to her old self, and I give full credit to the amazing team of staff at City Kitty! Without them, I would've said goodbye to my best friend. Now, I live every extra day I can with her thanks to them.

Fantastic experience: I had a phenomenal experience at City Kitty. Sky at the desk was friendly and efficient. She went above and beyond for a customer who needed help carrying two cats out to her car in the rain! Talk about great service. I appreciated that we were immediately brought to a room and my cat was able to take some time to explore before our CVT, Susan, came in. Susan was knowledgeable and did a great job handling my cat with care. She used fear free techniques to keep my cat comfortable and safe during her exam. Susan is fantastic! She checked me out in the exam room which limited our time in the lobby. Dr. Lund was incredible. She was so warm and listened carefully to my concerns about my cat and collaborated with me to craft a thoughtful plan. We are so lucky to have her in our community to provide care to our cats. Fantastic experience: It’s so different having dedicated medical support for cats. Previous vets I’ve seen have always been quite dismissive of issues and very dog centric and would make similar assumptions. The vets here are all so easy to speak to, ask questions and work to schedule time to see for sick visits ASAP. They have great recommendations for urgent care and emergency vets so all around fantastic and highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I could not be more impressed with their entire office. The reception staff, the vet techs, and the veterinarians were all very kind, efficient, and empathetic. Everything from regular to check-ups to more specialized care - they worked with me every step of the way to make sure I was well informed and to help me stay within budget. Fantastic experience: The exceptionalism of City Kitty includes the contrast between how they care for fur babies and their pawrents and how other businesses (including big-box stores) that cater to pets and to human healthcare operate in a manner that reflect that they are trading in inanimate objects. I could write hundreds of pages about the numerous times that Kitty has gone above-and-beyond for my kitties and me. I will limit this to the bookends of my first visit on moving to the area years ago and the visit yesterday that for once has me up at 2:00 a.m. with positive thoughts, rather than intense anger, regarding a business. I had badly hurt my foot a week before my first visit to City Kitty. Further, I use a large carrier to give my kids plenty of room. Vet tech. Lance saw me hobbling and struggling with my carrier outside when I arrived before they even had opened. He came out with a bright warm smile and took the carrier from me. This also was the visit that resident kitties Walter and Stanley and I bonded with each other. The background regarding my visit yesterday is that a couple of my medical conditions result in getting exhausted and horribly ill when I have too many long days too soon together. October always is very busy, and an exceptionally high level of activity (and horrific aggravation) in October 2024 resulted in what I am sure was bad Covid and the really bad new malady that led to seven traumatic months and always will affect me. A fully reasonable high demand for teeth cleaning was behind City Kitty not being able to book me until early November 2025. My schedule subsequently started filling in around that date. Those other events will be fun but still take their toll. Fresh memories of a trifecta of literal ills last year was behind my calling Kitty at the beginning of the week to see if they might be able to move up my appointment. I fully accepted that “no” was a valid answer but hoped that they may know that another pawrent would be agreeable to switching appointments. Sky showed the typical Kitty compassion and understanding. She heard me out and did not make any promises but said that she would see what she could do. The awesome result was that a cancellation for yesterday soon came in, and Sky pounced on it (pun intended) to book it for me. She quickly called to let me know. The exceptional care from check-in to picking up Kitty after what was an ordeal for both of us was straight out of the Kitty playbook.

Fantastic experience: its the only cat specialist in the state. I mean what can ya say they picked the superior pet to specialize in. Cats rule Dogs drool.

We got a sad diagnosis with our cat, and they delivered the news in a thoughtful way and gave me time to process, even when they are so busy. Then, afterwards they answered questions, calling me back after hours. So kind!

Fantastic experience: There are not enough words to describe how AMAZING City Kitty is. Dr. Vekman is spectacular and has helped out my boy so much even with his most complicated medical issues . The staff is always willing to help and truly loves your fur baby! I’m forever grateful that my boy has a second chance of life because of them! Thank you thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Fantastic experience: I want to say that city kitty really saved my cats life she was suffering in pain due to an infection in her uterus from the moment I called city kitty the lady over the phone was extremely caring and made sure to do everything she could to get my cat into surgery the very next morning. I am forever grateful for city kitty and their amazing workers. The customer service is impeccable and the building is absolutely stunning inside. I hope everyone at city kitty gets 9 lives!

Fantastic experience: I can't really sum up in a review how amazing this team is. They have held my hand through every level of cat ownership - loss, laughs, tears, all of it. I couldn't ask for a better group of people caring for my bubs (and me) throughout the years. It goes beyond the discharge paperwork; they remember to check-in, they provide your animals with an insane amount of love and never fail to answer a phone call or a question from a frantic cat mom(me, I am her). My cat was having vomiting issues on and off, I brought him to another “veterinary specialist facility”; thousands later they had no answers and my cat was still sick. I was able to make a same day appointment and have answers with city kitty. I will never bring my cat elsewhere

Fantastic experience: City Kitty always takes exceptional care of my medically complex Grace, treating her like one of their own kitties. In addition to thorough routine visits, when she's not well, they always find a way to see her, making us both feel so much better. And a special shout out to Kelly. It's such an extra layer of comfort, seeing that face that you know recognizes your cat and knows her complex history, without uttering a word. ❤️

Fantastic experience: UPDATE: realized my review was 6 years old. The original owner has now retired and left the practice in very capable hands. Even as the practice has grown the level of care and concern has not faded. My cats continue to be loyal patients (sometimes too loyal... lol). I've been taking my cats here for years. Excellent care! The veterinarians are phenomenal and the techs will care for your fur baby as if it were their own.

Fantastic experience: I went yesterday for the first time with my 6 month old kitten. The team at City Kitty is excellent! Everyone is so nice and answers all your questions no matter how many. They took amazing care of my kitten and I’m glad they are my vet!

Fantastic experience: City Kity has been the go-to ever since I adopted my cat, Plum, last fall. Wouldn’t go anywhere else. Everyone is kind, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. It’s a busy place, and yet every visit is met with patience and dedication. They are never annoyed to answer all of my questions and I appreciate that they even call to ask for my cats status after procedures she has had. They were able to find the cause of my cats on/off limp, refer us to surgery, and she has been thriving ever since they caught that. Recently adopted a second cat, and will be bringing him here as well!

Fantastic experience: Everyone here is so nice! I've been here for my cat's yearly physical and then more recently for a surgery - I got plenty of updates in the process. Everyone was super helpful and kind and Dr. Lund even called on a Saturday to follow up on how my cat was doing !

Fantastic experience: A great vet for our cat! Our boy is good at the vet but can be a little skittish especially around new sounds/places so it’s super helpful that there are no dogs barking and they take us right into the room to decrease stimulation. They are always polite and do a good job trying to get us on the schedule in a timely manner if something comes up. The vet and vet techs are knowledgeable and handle him really well even when he gets a little squirmy towards the end of the appointment. Overall, a great home base for our cats needs!

Negative experience: I have taken all my cats here and have loved city kitty but recently they have changed things and have been very rude I’m not sure if they got new owners or what is happening but so far I have taken 7 out of my 8 cats here and I’m not sure if I want to continue giving them my business. I recently dropped off my cat to get fixed and they made me wait to see a technician something I had never had to do before normally you drop your cat off and then they call you when they are ready and then you pay them this time they tried to get me to pay before the service again something that had never happened before and after reading recent reviews it seems like city kitty is going through something and they need to figure it out before they lose a lot of business we as cat parents depend on them to take good care of our cats and for them be nice not for their employees to talk about you very loudly while you sit and wait

Fantastic experience: Ive been to a good amount of vets and I have to say City Kitty is the absolute best. I had an emergency situation where my cat needed to be seen within a week and they were able to fit me in within the next day! When I got there the environment was so nice and friendly. I am incredibly thankful for everyone who works there and will definitely be going back in the future! My cat Venus and I are very grateful. :)

Negative experience: At one time this was the best place for kitties. Since new ownership they were not even able to draw my cat’s blood. They are using a new vendor for meds and my cat won’t take it. Asked if they could either order the original meds or give me the name of the vendor. Told me it would 80.00 for a 2 months supply and when my husband picked it up it was 126.00 and it is not the right medication. Shame on you City Kitty. This is not the high quality vet it once was. So disappointed.

Negative experience: After going to City Kitty for years without issue, I recently had a completely demoralizing experience. I’m unsure if I’ll ever go back. At my cat’s annual appointment, the veterinarian recommended a dental cleaning and potential dental extractions for 2 back teeth. The quote was for $900-$1,100, depending on the extent of the damage. My cat had a dental cleaning in the past with City Kitty, so I didn’t think twice in booking the appointment. I dropped her off in the morning, and heard nothing from them until I got the call to pick her up. When I arrived, I was informed that they pulled 12 teeth, including one of her fangs! I was devastated. Had they called, I would have told them not to touch her front teeth at all! I asked to talk to the surgeon, but they sent a different veterinary technician to speak with me. She didn’t express any regret or concern about the situation, and remarked that “plenty of cats do just fine with all of their teeth removed.” Neither she nor the receptionist told me about any possible complications or special aftercare for my cat, aside from the three days of pain pills. To add further insult, the total bill came to $1,300, well above the quote. A week after surgery, my cat still could not close her mouth properly. Her lip curls up over the spot where they removed her fang. I called City Kitty, and only then did they inform me that this is a normal and expected complication of fang removal, and that I should put coconut oil over her lip to prevent a callus forming in that spot. I am still floored that City Kitty took my consent for 2 extractions as free reign to remove nearly all of her teeth! They did not call to ask my permission to perform work well in excess of the quote. The cynic in me wonders if they pulled more teeth than necessary for the extra $200. In any case, the trust I had with City Kitty has been completely broken. In this experience, from start to finish, City Kitty treated me like a credit card, and not a cat owner who deserves input and consideration in decisions about my cat’s health.

Fantastic experience: The staff is incredible! Loki didn't mind getting caught up on shots and his general physical. The Vets here saved my little buddy's life.... As far as I'm concerned City Kitty is the Cats Meow ..

Fantastic experience: I love City Kitty, and so do my cats (even though they make a fuss when they figure out I'm taking them to the vet). The staff is friendly and caring, and I can tell they are all cat lovers. There are no dogs in the waiting room to terrify my cats. The health care for my pets is first rate. I would recommend City Kitty to anyone (and I frequently do).

Fantastic experience: I rarely leave reviews for anything but these guys deserve their five stars. I went to them with my first cat when their location was downtown. Their new space is even more incredible. More importantly the quality of their work never changed...it's always been the cat's meow. Knowledgeable, kind, and passionate about what they do. From the front desk to the medical professionals, all exceptional. I'd never bring a cat of mine anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: I've been bringing my cat Maple to City Kitty for nearly 2 years now and really love my experiences there. All the folks there are so caring and kind. Maple has FeLv which unfortunately triggers frequent sick visits, but I always know she's getting quality care. They listen to concerns, ask questions, and really pay close attention to both the care she needs in the moment and what they may need to check up on from previous visits. I always appreciate getting the treatment plan estimates beforehand as well. Overall amazing team providing the highest quality veterinary practice in a clean and welcoming space!

Fantastic experience: City Kitty is the most compassionate and attentive vet I have ever had experience with. When our cat was diagnosed with cancer, Dr. Mercurio and the rest of his care team at City Kitty were there every step of the way. They took initiative to check in with us regularly about how he was doing and did everything they could to make his final weeks as happy and comfortable as possible. We felt so supported through the whole process. They provided not just excellent veterinary care, but also pastoral care and understanding to guide us through losing a pet. Fantastic experience: Incredibly knowledgeable staff, friendly and understanding. They worked with me when trying to find budget friendly options for my cats complicated dietary and medical needs with no judgement. It's hard being a pet parent and wanting the best care, but realistically being unable to spend hundreds a month on the most expensive food and supplements. It's worth noting they also have a rewards system and the funniest hold line ever which has roughly 5-7 minutes of unique cat trivia. I almost didn't want them to answer the phone again

Fantastic experience: Thank you Chris, Dr. Palmer, and all the City Kitty staff for a wonderful first visit. My kitties Rupi, and especially, Rebel, can be quite anxious on out of the home trips. Rebel made that known by yowling very loudly in the waiting room and I made matters worse by knocking over the plant on their coffee table. It was a very stressful morning from trying to calmly get them into the carrier to listening to my boy kitty inconsolably cry among many strangers. Chris was so wonderful and offered such a calming and compassionate presence for me and my kitties. He was incredibly knowledgeable and offered great advice to decrease Rebel’s anxiety at home. Rebel and Rupi found him warm and comforting despite their fear and vocal agitation. Dr. Palmer gave my kitties a thorough exam and listened earnestly to my concerns. She was honest, genuine, and my kitties and I felt comfortable with her. I greatly appreciated her medical expertise and professional demeanor. Dr. Palmer and Chris provided a great first RI vet experience for us since moving from out of state months earlier. We feel relieved knowing we made a great choice with choosing City Kitty as our feline health provider. Thank you Dr. Palmer, Chris, and the City Kitty staff for everything! Fantastic experience: It’s impossible to overstate how amazing City Kitty is. I’ve been bringing my cats here for over 11 years and I can’t imagine bringing them anywhere else. City Kitty has somehow found the kindest and most knowledgeable people on cats and brought them all together in one beautiful cat themed building. My first experience was calling with a concern with my terminally ill cat who hadn’t seen a vet in years. I called, thinking I’d get an appointment a few days later. Instead they had me in by noon, and they had all my cat’s records from the local emergency clinic before I arrived. They knew everything about my cat’s disease and Dr. Mercurio walked me through what the final few months of my cat’s life would be with so much compassion, empathy, and honesty. When he passed (in the middle of the night, so not at City Kitty), I received a heartfelt handwritten letter of condolence in the mail. It was so touching and unexpected and I still have it to this day. Over a decade later and Dr. Mercurio still remembers my late cat by name. We’ve brought nearly a half dozen cats to City Kitty since and the experience has always been stellar. I’m very protective and anxious about my cats and the entire staff is so kind and understanding. I never feel like I’m a burden or being over protective. They always have time to answer my many questions about my cats. Sudden, day of appointments are always accommodated and in the rare case of an actual emergency, we’ve been told to bring our cat in immediately. I could write so much about how special this place is. If you have a cat, bring them here. You’ll be treated like family and your cat will be treated like the royalty that they are.

Fantastic experience: The facility is aesthetically pleasing and very clean. Although the staff is professional they are very friendly and really handle the cats with care. I like that they are a cats only Veterinary Hospital. Cats can get so stressed out at a mixed practice. I noticed someone had complained about a spay that was $600 but the average space price is $75 to $100. That may be in a low cost spay clinic, not in a conventional Veterinary Hospital. $600 does sound a little high but I'm wondering were their baby teeth that needed to be pulled, was there pre-op blood work that needed to be done? Was the kitty cat in heat? Were any vaccines given? Did it include pain medication and an e-collar? I just feel that that review was a little misleading.

Negative experience: I took 4 cats here, 1 of which they missed heart disease and he passed of it at just 6 years old. Had they taken blood work and stuff as a new patient they would have noticed. I took my new kitten here to be set up for vaccines and a spay. It averaged to about $500 total for all exams and never once got her shots that she actually needed, but instead a leukemia vaccine that another vet I seen told me was not needed if she was going to be an indoor cat (as long as I don’t foster, or babysit other cats). I was never told about this vaccine or asked as it’s just a vaccine that is a precautionary option and not a requirement. When they gave me an estimate for her spay, it came to about 1,100. The new vet I take my cats to were shocked in disbelief and gave me an estimate for them which came to 500, with pre-surgical blood work and microchipping included, if I chose that I wanted to add those, or 300 without. On top of all this, city kitty only recommended that I switch all my cats to wet food, leaving out how harmful seafood wet food could be, as the new vet told me that seafood could be fatal to cats as it causes a blockage, fatal to male cats! I truly believe city kitty just sees the cats as a cash grab and not as a pet. Thankfully I found an honest vet that loves and adores my animals and takes good care of them!

Negative experience: We have been coming to City Kitty for years and while it has always been on the pricier side, today was the last straw. Our cat went in for a routine annual visit and we left with a $600 bill. They asked if they could draw some blood. We agreed. They did not ask if they could perform a $270 urinalysis. They have zero sensitivity to their prices. You are left in the dark as to what everything costs until after the procedure is done and they don’t distinguish between optional and recommended/necessary procedures. It’s for these reasons that we will unfortunately be looking for a new vet.

Fantastic experience: Phenomenal veterinarian service. I’m brand new to the feline world & city kitty has made caring for my little hunter stress free. They are great for emergency situations and routine medical & healthcare maintenance. My only complaint is there’s only one city kitty & they aren’t available on weekends. Highly recommend city kitty for all your feline fixes!

Negative experience: I brought my cats here a few years ago with no issues, but it seems like something has changed since. Yesterday they completely mis-handled my older cat, who is usually shy and a sweetie. They tried to hold him and forcefully examine him. When he responded a negative way, hissing and clearly upset, they used more force, and the vet tech even put on leather gloves. I told them I had never witnessed my cat behave like that and they said cats can change. They wanted to sedate him to do the examination. I suggested that we give him a break to calm down and they said they didn't think it would work and that I needed to book another appointment. They examined y other cat, and when this was complete guess what, my older cat had calmed down and was able to be easily examined with some pets and a treat. How absurd that they wanted to sedate him. I am currently opting to not neuter the male kitten I brought in, and the vet tech was saying ridiculous things to try to persuade me to neuter him, such as the fact that my other cat is neutered and he would be jealous. I was also told that the leukemia shot would be 36$ and was a one time deal. Actually, it requires two more visits, so in total will be 108$, plus I imagine another 77$ per the extra two visits, so in total another 262 dollars. My cats are indoor cats and this is really not necessary. However it is possible I would have decided to do it as a precaution, but ethically they had a major mis-step with not sharing what this vaccine entails. To top all of this off this morning I received an email with the two vaccination appointments they made without my knowledge (this is how I discovered the vaccine required two more shots), and an upcoming appointment to neuter my kitten, again not an appointment I made, nor an appointment I intend to make. It is really disappointing that we can't count on a vet to take care of our animals.

Fantastic experience: We had never been there before yet they treated us like we were long term clients. Sadly we had to have our loved one put to rest and they were as gentle with him as you could ask for.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been bringing my cat Ellie to City Kitty for two years now and have had nothing but positive experiences. The front desk staff, vet techs, and veterinarians are all extremely kind, caring, patient, and you can tell they really love cats. They take the time to answer all your questions and give detailed price breakdowns before charging you anything. Ellie is typically scared of strangers, but they always manage to calm her down, and she loves their treats and head scratches. Thank you, City Kitty!

Fantastic experience: This place is the BEST. I brought my cats here when I initially moved to RI. Then, when I moved again, I tried another vet closer to my new place, and they just weren’t City Kitty. So, now I am happily back at City Kitty. Even though I drive 45 minutes for appointments, it is so worth it. All of the employees are kind, patient, and respectful to cat owners, and (more importantly, of course) everyone is also so great with your animals. They are prompt with appointments, they genuinely care about and like cats, and they’ll make time for sick animals if you’re having an emergency. I can’t recommend City Kitty enough!

Fantastic experience: Me and my cats LOVE City Kitty! Well maybe the cats don't so much because it usually involves car rides and meds but I'm so happy to have found this practice. Fantastic experience: The staff are so kind and helpful! You can tell they genuinely care about the wellbeing of your cat and do everything they can to help. They’ve been so accommodating to my cat over the past couple weeks while recovering from surgery by helping me get appointments last minute when my cat was having issues. Constantly checking in and making sure he was healing well! I will forever recommend them to every cat owner I know and as long as I live in the area, I will not be going anywhere else! Fantastic experience: Before moving to RI we went to a cat only provider, so I was thrilled to find City Kitty upon moving here. We have had such great experiences here - normal check-ups and sick visits alike. Everyone is so kind and willing to talk through your concerns with you. We're currently going through a cancer diagnosis with our oldest and they have been SO great (especially after a traumatic experience at one of the urgent cares). We are so thankful to everyone at City Kitty for creating a safe place for our babies.

Fantastic experience: I took my first cat here back in 1999 and I'm so glad they are still open! I was in college with a part time job on campus and my cat needed to be fixed. They were reasonably priced and most of all kind to my SmellyCat. I've since moved from the state but never forgot about this vet and wished they had more vets that specialized in cat care.

Fantastic experience: I have a cat who is petrified of going to the vet. I decided to Google “cat only vets near me” and City Kitty came up. My cat has an auto immune disorder and needs a major dental surgery. I called to find out if they did surgery on site for his condition and was told by the receptionist she’d ask and call me back. She called me back within minutes and booked me an appointment the following week. The office was easy to find, had ample parking and the check in process was quick and easy . We got immediately put in a room and Navia, a vet tech, came in within minutes to get my cat’s history and weight and temperature. Dr. Lund arrived shortly after and was so kind and patient with my very terrified cat. A plan was made for his surgery and she happily answered all my questions. My cat was taken for blood work and shots and they even trimmed his nails which was an unexpected bonus. Navia brought him back to the room, scheduled surgery, gave me a detailed estimate and checked us out in the exam room, saving a step at the front desk. She was fantastic! They even gave a catnip toy “prize” to my cat! It’s all about the little things in life that make a difference and I thought this was such a thoughtful and sweet gesture. My cat did so much better in a cat only environment and the entire staff that I encountered were all wonderful. I would highly recommend City Kitty and am so glad I found them!

Negative experience: I've been taking my long haired senior cat there for years which needs a yearly shave down. My quote went up by $200 more from last year!? I asked why and she said he needs a liver test. And? What? He's a senior. They know better. I just wanted my cat to be comfortable. They don't give options. I feel the price went so high because they added an online store and more staff.

Fantastic experience: I HIGHLY recommend using City Kitty as your vet for your cats!! The front office and the back office are super friendly and so accommodating. The vets and vet techs are compassionate and want work with you to make sure that your cats receive the best care possible. I have two torties that I have struggled to take to the vet because they get so stressed, and do not like being around dogs. They also have the well known “tortitude.” This has caused me not to want to take my cats to the vet since they act out. Taking them to a cat only vet, with a veterinary team that understands cats and cares for them really made a difference and allowed them to get the care they need. City Kitty is truly one of the best vets that I have been to! Thank you so much!

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough wonderful things about City Kitty. My 15-yr-old cat, Jack ("Baby"), is a frequent flyer and has a complicated health history including chronic conditions as well as flares of pancreatitis. Every last staff member at City Kitty has gone above and beyond (including calling on weekends to check in) when he's been ill, has accommodated last minute appointment requests, and truly treated us as family. Fantastic experience: I can't say enough good things about City Kitty - they are seriously the best. I had to cancel my appointment last week due to car issues and they were SO understanding and rescheduled my kitty's appointment to last night at 4:30. Unfortunately, due to the bridge traffic, we were late but they did not mind at all, even though it was the end of the day. They took wonderful care of my cat, as she is very nervous and scared in unfamiliar places, and they always call to check in the next morning. I am SO happy I found this place (was recommended to me by my younger sister). Thank you ALL for what you do for the cat community. I've never been this impressed with a veterinary's office, I typically have a hard time trusting them so I am eternally grateful!!! My cat's health is a tremendous priority for me and I can tell it's a priority at City Kitty too! <3 10/10/10 on service, care and staff!!

Fantastic experience: Staffing team here were exceptional, they went over and beyond my expectations when my little guy,best friend and only family I have Charlie was ill. I want to thank the team starting with Bonnie for helping me make the appointment on a tight schedule squeeze before the Thanksgiving holiday when my regularly seen veterinarian on Tioque road in Coventry was not able to on account of the holiday and short notice, they recommended me to try City Kitty it was so thankful that they have because the team outstanding job even help me with donating a little food because of my current situation myself and disability. Negative experience: First I want to say that city kitty had been great! They were accommodating, caring, and great with my cats! However, I do not suggest getting your cat cremated through them. I had a horrible experience and can honestly say as much as it saddens me, I will never step foot in there again as my heart is broken and I’m just completely sickened and disappointed. I had my cat put to sleep last week and everything was peaceful. I asked for some of my cats fur before he was cremated and staff said of course, they understand. When I picked up his ashes, I was heartbroken to see no fur, no paw prints (which is obviously important to me) nothing but his ashes in a box for almost a $500 bill. Of course I ran back in knowing I would never get the fur (but was hopeful it was just misplaced) because you can’t bring him back now. everyone I talked to apologized that my memory and the staffs memory was different (about the fur conversation) of what was said and had the nerve to say that maybe they didn’t understand me becuase I was very emotional…of course I was emotional…We literally had a conversation about the fur with the staff though… I said I like to have the fur for my other cats…the staff even said they do that too. I was honestly shocked.. instead of taking responsibility, they blamed me in my time of grief when the fur was all I asked for…then the manager told me that the staff were upset all day over this…so now you are trying to turn it around and make me feel bad?? Are you kidding? He was my cat…Again just say you guys messed up…one staff said they do have ink paw prints in a card that was never sent to me…maybe they do, maybe trying to cover tracks… I don’t know….i understand things happen and i don’t always expect things to go perfectly but I do expect honesty in a situation like this…I now feel like I have nothing left of my sweet Boo (of course I know I have his ashes)…I then asked if they still had his blankets that I left him snuggled in which I know usually goes to the crematory with the animal.. however, to my surprise I received a txt message with a picture of his blanket and for a second I was so happy until I noticed it was not covered in his fur, it looked clean…of course, it had been laundered… so were they gonna reuse my dead cats blanket for something else..they actually took it off him and cleaned it like a donated blanket? the whole situation makes sick. If you had the blanket why wouldn’t you call me ask if I wanted it back instead of just taking it off my dead cat for reuse? They are sending me the blanket because I certainly didn’t donate it but again, won’t be the same without his fur so thanks for that. It would be nice if maybe city kitty tried to come up with a solution not just me…I do not recommended having your cat cremated through city kitty as no one should have to put their cat to sleep then have to deal with this. Or you need to ask specifically for what you want and make sure they write it down…I have had 2 other animals cremated at different places and I received so much more and didn’t have to ask. Very disappointing as I can never get these things now…please do better city kitty.. this shouldn’t have happened and I shouldn’t have to feel like I have been blamed for your mistake.

Fantastic experience: I have a 4 and a half year old kitty who I recently brought to City Kitty. Our original vet wasn’t the best, after each appointment I would leave questioning whether or not she has received the best care. I emailed City Kitty asking what needs to be done to set up a first appointment, and so on. They responded so quickly and scheduled an appointment within a few weeks! I even ended up needing to reschedule it and they were so awesome working with me and my demanding work schedule. She had her first appointment yesterday and I’m so glad we are with City Kitty now. The techs and doctors were so kind and made sure any questions I had were answered. I’m so grateful to have found them and feel immensely better about my cat’s care. THANK YOU CITY KITTY

Fantastic experience: Best vet ever!! My kitten Scampi was a new patient and she wasn’t feeling well so they took her right away! They answered all of my questions and made me feel very comfortable and reassured that she was in good hands!! They really care about their patients here and I’m so glad we found City Kitty!! :) she LOVES her new toy!!!

Fantastic experience: City Kitty is the most caring, compassionate and professional veterinary office I’ve ever been to. I’ve lived in multiple states and have always had cats and they are the cream of the crop! We switched from a different practice in RI after receiving an astronomical quote for dental extractions and mediocre care. A friend recommended City Kitty and I couldn’t be happier to have made the change. Not only were they much more reasonable but the care they provide is top notch. From my initial call with the front office staff, I knew we were in much better hands. They were so kind especially considering this was a time sensitive situation. Dr. Mercurio performed an extensive dental extraction procedure on my cat, Bruce.I was nervous and she called me before the procedure just to let me know everything was good to go. I appreciated that so much! The technicians were all wonderful and Bruce’s recovery was a breeze. He is happier and so are we!

Fantastic experience: The care and atmosphere at City Kitty, as well as their presence in the community, are purrrrfect! They have nurtured three generations of my cats, and have been wonderful companions in sickness and in health to each of them. The calmness and skill of the techs are as important to each visit as the ministrations of the wonderful veterinarians, who are generous with advice. Fantastic experience: Hank had his best vet appointment of all time today with Felicity & Dr.Palmer. Hank is 14 and spicy () but having a bit of a cold. City Kitty got him in pronto and handled him with absolute expert care. Felicity might have blown his mind... because there's never been a time he was able to be handled at the vet without sedation except for at City Kitty, and today he was so calm (for him), and therefore able to get the care he needed with minimum stress. Hank moved to Maine for a number of years, but boy is he glad to be back at City Kitty! So incredibly grateful for this place.

Fantastic experience: Went to City Kitty today after our poor kitten Zelda was having diarrhea and vomiting. They gave us an emergency appointment for 2 days even though we had never been patients before! Absolutely everyone from the second we walked in to when we left were so kind, careful, and they loved little Zelda baby. David and Dr. Palmer were honestly so great , had such an upbeat and positive demeanor and kept us calm as we were nervous for our girl. Thank you for all your help and not getting annoyed with all our questions lol
