Fantastic experience: My 14yo JRT had a sudden onset of paralysis in rear legs that worsened over the span of 4 days to where she couldn't walk or stand on her own. We walked in early in two consecutive mornings when they opened. Every staff member, from the front desk, to technicians, to the vet were extremely kind and patient. They took the time to listen and give concern to what was going on. As a walk in on busy mornings, they were able to get us back to a room in a timely manner to see the vet. Both Dr Hardy and Dr McWhorter were amazing, taking the time to listen and give a good exam. They both acted like this was one of their pets in the concern and attention they gave. We came back the next day as instructed since my dog's symptoms had worsened. They were quick to give the appropriate treatment medications as well as advice on further imaging that might be required outside of town. Dr McWhorter even called a few days later to follow up on how my dog was doing. We returned a few more times for K light therapy treatments and my JRT improved over the next two weeks. Further imaging was not needed, and she is now acting like her normal spunkier self. I can't thank the staff enough for their kindness, patience and care they all provided to my dog. As a healthcare professional this is a challenging profession nowadays with the demand for quick and quality care, especially when it comes to our beloved pets. I would highly recommend this clinic and the staff to take great care of your pet. I can't thank them enough for helping my precious JRT.

Positive experience: OK. Usually they come out in the lobby and spray up her nose. This time we went in the back and RenE wasn't sure what to think.

Fantastic experience: I took my 103.8# Miko to her first visit and they were exceptionally patient with her. They talked to her through drawing blood for heartworm test and 2 vaccines and her microchip which helped keep her calm. We will definitely be using this vet clinic for her and my other boy dog. Kudos to the Amarillo Animal Center!

Fantastic experience: Both my dogs when in for dentals and my older dog had growths to be removed as well. The staff was kind and genuinely seemed to care for my animals. I was worried about one of the growths location. Dr Hardy was amazing, communicated well with the follow up, was able to let us know what type of growth. We have not had any complications after the surgery. So thankful the took care of my boys.

Fantastic experience: I have used Animal Medical Center for many years. Vets, techs, and staff extremely professional, courteous, and friendly. I've had a Shetland and a mini-rex that they cared for. Can be a little pricey for some services, my personal opinion, worth it. These were our furbabys that they cared for over the years.

Fantastic experience: excellent vet, never experienced such compassion and understanding, they wanted to be friends with kilo and make him comfortable, his vet and assistant was amazing, only complaint was receptionist was on the cold side, but I will keep coming here, this is my dogs permanent vet clinic.

Fantastic experience: Dr Bryan is the best veterinarian around. Dr McWhorter is also awesome. Shelly is the best technician around. The staff at AMC I are also awesome. I appreciate how much they all care about my "baby" and her well being. Preventative care is important to them and me. I wouldn't take my dog anywhere else. Thanks to all of you. Please take as good of care of her Tuesday when she gets her teeth cleaned.

Negative experience: i don't know how well this vet does with dogs, but my cat wasn't treated as well as she should've been. i went in, concerned my cat had fhs, and got told there was no way to know without a video of the episodes when that shouldn't be necessary and it's next to impossible to accurately film these 10-20 second episodes that come out of nowhere. there's also many other symptoms that could've been taking into consideration before brushing it off as "i don't know". i took her to a different vet yesterday and found out she has fhs, fleas, and a uti. as of now, she's being treated properly and im beyond upset that i wasted my time and money here to be told nothing.

Positive experience: Great staff, very welcoming and genuinely care about your animals. Open on Sundays which was surprising. Pricing was a bit jarring, but I suppose that's how it goes these days

Fantastic experience: Thank you, Dr Drake and Dr Webb for seeing our cat Sox on a work in visit. Sox was having eye problems, and some dental issues that were worse than we expected. She will not let her humans check her mouth!!! Dr Drake did thorough gentle exam, gave us a plan, and Dr Webb was so kind to do dental on Sox. Our kitty, 18 years old, is looking and feeling so much better today. Thank you to these wonderful veterinarians, and all the staff at Animal Medical Center.

Fantastic experience: Went in after we got back from our holiday and found our sweet cat to be having a hard time breathing and eating/drinking. The front staff were so kind and even asked to take his temperature while we waited just to make sure he wasn’t in an emergency situation. Waited there with my two boys and the front desk lady gave them each a little toy to have and play with and we sipped on some of their complimentary hot chocolate When we went back they were so caring and loving with our cat and made eye contact and listened to my concerns. The vet explained what she thought was going on and sent us home with a couple of medications for him. He seemed to be doing better after just a couple rounds of his medications. They were very reasonably priced and I’ll be opting for them as our next vet visit.

Fantastic experience: The caring staff and doctors at Animal Medical have cared for several of our dogs over many years. We love this group!

Fantastic experience: Dental cleaning and 2 extractions for my 3 yr old country life dog. Her teeth look beautiful. She ate fine the evening of surgery and is back in action next morning, never skipped a beat. Wish there was a way to donate to AMC for clients in need. Do you have a way we can do that for local animals, rather than giving to national ASPCA or something like that.

Fantastic experience: I brought my 15 year old cat in at 12:35 on a Sunday when they closed at 1. The staff was amazingly kind. While my soul kitty did cross the rainbow bridge due to his diagnosis they didn't rush us when I asked if my bf could come so he could say goodbye even though he was atleast 20 minutes away. They let us grieve till we could function enough to bring him home. He was placed in a body bag very carefully ontop of a towel with is paws tucked up so sweetly by his face. They have gained a new customer for my other pets.

Fantastic experience: We take both our doodles to Animal Medical Center and have been very satisfied with the care they have received! We make appointments easily online and wait times are reasonable! I love the reminders for their shots!

Fantastic experience: We love Animal Center! Bumper, my Lab got a vaccine for kennel cough. We got to stay in the car and the Vet Tech came to the car and gave it to him. I have the Paw Plan so the vaccine was included in the plan.

Fantastic experience: Dr Amanda Drake was very helpful and showed true concern for our 18 yo man. She was very kind and friendly, and really appreciate her compassion.

Fantastic experience: Our 12 yo dog developed eye pain while travelling- we needed to go to a vet eye Dr at home, as she might lose the eye. AMC staff in Amarillo had opthalmology skills, set up an appointment and kept a possible surgery date open. At our appointment Dr. Wick was kind both to us and to our dog and he thoroughly discussed all our options and the ins and outs of different pain meds. All staff did a great job and we felt supported even though they just met us.

Fantastic experience: They take such great care of us! Found a hematoma on my girl, and they let us come in immediately to look at it. I slept much better that night not having to worry about it.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing! We are in town for a baseball tournament and my corgi came in limping I rushed her here on Saturday morning. The had us in a room in 15 minutes and seen by Dr. Das in 30 minutes. While a torn CCL was not the diagnosis I wanted, she was extremely optimistic and encouraging that she’ll make a full recovery. The entire staff was amazing and so kind! If I didn’t live 7 hours away hands down they’d be my vet!

Fantastic experience: They were wonderful with putting our cat to sleep. Amazing customer service. I would recommend this vet to everyone!

Negative experience: They put me in a room worth my very sick cat and never came back. After 3 hours we left to go to another vet to be seen. No compassion at all. Avoid them at all costs, it's just a money grab.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Laveta Bryan and her Amazing #2 Nikki K. Are both amazing individuals that have a love for animals that goes far beyond any other doctor or tech in Amarillo. They are Knowledgeable and fast to come up with a plan! I wholeheartedly trust my fur babies with them they are in great hands!

Fantastic experience: We love Dr Webb! She takes very good care of our two cats. You can tell she genuinely cares about the animals that come through her door. She’s very knowledgeable and will explain anything going on with your fur babies. The appointment doesn’t seem rushed with her and she is thorough in determining what is wrong. Thank you Dr. Webb!

Fantastic experience: I went here after plenty of research on animal care facilities in Amarillo. I was extremely pleased with Dr. Drakes care. This was my first annual vet visit with my adopted cat, she answered all of my questions without making me feel like I was being rushed or annoying. I will be back as a regular!

Negative experience: I have been thinking for a long time if I should leave this review or not. Especially because everyone at this practice was super nice with us, especially the lady veterinarian: very friendly, she told us a lot about herself and we really trusted her. And yet. Here is what happened to us, and hopefully this review will help someone else to avoid this precise outcome. In July we were visiting Amarillo TX, and I looked for a vet to vaccinate our puppy. I called several vets in Amarillo asking if they had Nobivac DPV vaccine, distemper and parvo only, no other vaccine added. Nobody seemed to have it until I called this practice, and the receptionist said, that yes, they had it: “distemper-parvo combo”, she said. I booked a visit for the next day. Upon our arrival I confirmed with the receptionist that we were there for DVP distemper -parvo vaccine by Nobivac, and no other vaccines added. She told us that we had to talk with the vet. Vet assistant took us to the exam room, and I explained again, that we followed a very strict vaccine protocol (which we discussed with the breeder of our pup, and we accepted) and we came there for DVP distemper-parvo only vaccine, by Nobivac, and we wanted to make sure that that is what our pup would receive. The vet assistant said that she had to talk with the vet. She left the room and when she came back, she said that yes, they had that vaccine. Soon after the vet herself came to our room. We greeted, started talking while she was getting ready. WE explained again, this time to the vet herself, that we were there for Nobivac DVP vaccine, distemper and parvo only, no other vaccines added, and this was very important to us. We also explained that we followed a very specific vaccine protocol, which we discussed with our pup’s breeder. The lady vet confirmed that our pup would get what we asked for and vaccinated him. She also gave us paperwork covering the visit. We were checking out, when I looked at the paperwork and it said that our pup got 4 in 1 vaccine: distemper-adenovirus type2-parainfluenza-parvovirus! I asked to speak with the vet. I was taken back to the room, and when the vet came back, I asked straight forward and said: “I was very specific with what we came here for, my husband was there with me and our daughter too. There was no way of miscommunication, so why did my pup receive a four-in-one vaccine? As I was very clear on what we wanted: distemper and parvo only, and nothing else!” The vet answered literally, that she thought that I was asking for distemper-adenovirus type 2-parainfluenza-parvovirus vaccine, as that was what they had in stock. I told her that our pup was a young pup, that vaccine being his first vaccine, and she took away my right to decide what went into my dog’s body. And she did it at the very start of his life! The vet offered to call our breeder and to tell them that the vaccine she gave to my pup was safe. I tried to talk, and make this vet to understand what her action did to us. But we started going in circles. And she did not see. She kept telling me that the vaccine was safe and she could call our breeder to talk to them. At the end I started crying. I have no doubt, that the vet clearly understood which vaccines we asked for, but because they did not have those in stock, they injected my pup with what they did have, in this case four-in-one vaccine. There is no reverse of what the vet did, and that upsets me the most. That lady vet is not the owner of my dog. She has no rights to my dog. I have those rights. And yet she violated my rights, she broke my trust, she performed a very unethical act. And there is no undoing of that!

Negative experience: So I called this yesterday afternoon all night long and today with no answer when they indicated they were open at 8 o’clock I show up there they have no doctor available for emergency services or surgery very blunt very uncaring very un compassionate so far. I haven’t found a vet in Amarillo that is worth a nickel now I’m driving around to two other places and my dogs are gonna probably die. Mine bottom line is they don’t answer their phones. Drove all away from Canyon just to be rejected.

Fantastic experience: My family and I cannot express enough gratitude to you guys for the empathy, compassion, and care your practice showed us after our house fire on 9/24. Our red tri mini Aussie, Raven, was trapped in the house for about 30-45 minutes sustaining major smoke inhalation. Raven received amazing care initially on 9/24. Unfortunately, she rapidly declined upon returning back to us and we returned to the practice on 9/26. Unfortunately her little lungs were struggling and she had other major issues and the decision was made to let her go peacefully. This was a terrible terrible blow to my daughter and I to lose her because of this fire. Your employees were so compassionate and loving to us and made a heartbreaking situation a little easier. Thank you, we're so grateful to you.

Fantastic experience: We decided to switch vets due to cost. Animal Medical Center provided reasonably priced care to our dogs and cat. The staff and vet were friendly and informative.

Fantastic experience: My first trip with a 2 month old puppy. Dr. Bryan was thorough and professional. Her assistant was great when we first went to the exam room. At 8 months Brownie was spayed. I had the choice of laser surgery with no outside stitches. It made her recovery so much easier. No cone of shame because she had no stitches to mess with!

Fantastic experience: My sweet cat Murphy was in acute respiratory distress and I had went to 4 different vets that morning frantic to help my cat. Not one would help! Until I called Animal Medical Center! Lacy and Valerie were so kind and extremely helpful! They got Murphy and I back so fast. The vet tech that took Murphy’s vitals was the best! So kind and gentle with Murphy.. Dr. McWhorter is the absolute best! Murphy got worse as soon as the tech left the room, panting for air. I looked out in the hallway to get help and not even knowing who Dr McWhorter was, she was in the room immediately to help Murphy. I cannot stress enough how professional, kind, caring and attentive she and the entire staff was that day. She even called the next day to check on a Murphy. I will NEVER go anywhere else but here! I’m so thankful to them for saving Murphy!

Fantastic experience: Rowdy is a big dog and lives up to his name. We had to go for shots and annual. The staff was very accommodating with my fears of Rowdy biting someone. They came out to my car to help bring him in. They cleared the lobby to miss other dogs. They were very kind to Rowdy. Everything went well. Thank you Amarillo Animal Medical clinic.

Fantastic experience: I’ve brought all my pet to this clinic for about 40+ years now, and never encountered such a group of compassionate people at the reception area and the Veterinary Doctors are very supportive and helpful. I feel confident putting my pets in the hands of any of the Doctors. Thanks for being there when I needed you.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful and clean practice with absolutely wonderful staff, from the front desk ladies to the veterinarians and other team members. My husband and I found two orphaned newborn kittens yesterday and were absolutely terrified about what to do. Everyone was just so helpful and comforting and gave us a lot of advice to help these babies.

Fantastic experience: I don't think I have met such caring people at an animal center before. The vet assistant that first took us to a room was super cool and thoughtful. I brought in two stray cats, one quite more skittish than the other, but they didn't let that get in the way of her treatment. Other vets have handled the strays I bring in roughly, talk too loud even though I warn them that loud noises trigger a certain cat's fight or flight, or refuse to do anything without putting the cat under. I have a habit of picking up strays, getting them healthy/socialized and trying to find them a home. This is definitely where I will be bringing them in the future.

Fantastic experience: I lost my previous dog to cancer in January. This visit was the first for my newly adopted dog. I am a big fan of Dr. Kinsey. She was a tremendous help to my senior dog and I know she will be great with the dog I just adopted. Dr. Kinsey and all the staff at Animal Medical are professional, friendly and caring. I trust that my dog will get expert treatment at Animal Medical.

Fantastic experience: Very pleased with the decision to move to this vet from our previous one. I have two Great Danes and they are treated with nothing but love when we go in. I am spoken to like a human and with understanding that I’m not a vet, so it’s always in ways I understand. I’m given multiple options for solutions instead of feeling pressured to do whatever the vet wants to do and they always keep your wallet in mind instead of over charging for unnecessary things. I will continue to recommend Animal Medical Center to anyone in need of a vet.

Fantastic experience: I’ve used this practice more 20 years. The vets are exceptionally capable and responsive. Dr. Bryan was awesome with a feisty, deformed, foster kitten. Dr. McWhorter and Dr. Webb are amazingly patient with 18 pounds of a bad tempered American Bobtail. Several foster kittens owe their lives to these caring professionals. Recently, they prepared an 8-month-old feral, with patience and professionalism, for her new life inside a loving home. Dr. Blayloch helped me make a hard decision about a birth defect. I can’t say enough good things about this practice.

Fantastic experience: We took our 2 year old puppy in for shots and other minor issues. Dr. Hardy and her vet assistant, Nicki, were very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. They took very good care of our puppy. They answered all of our questions. We love the Paw Plan which helped considerably with our bill. Fantastic experience: We had an emergency close to 5 pm on a Friday with our dog getting bit by a rattlesnake and took him in. We called ahead and the Animal Medical Center was ready and waiting for us. They took care of our dog and thankfully were able to save him and he is fine now. ALL of the staff who helped us were very kind and efficient. They went above and beyond any help we could have had and we are so very thankful for their care.

Fantastic experience: Hubby and I travel with our 2 toy breeds full time across the states. We had an emergency with one of our furry old men and pulled into Amarillo TX for a week stay. We visited the medical center with Mr. Darcy as walk-ins and we were stunned at the level of compassion, care, professionalism and patience we experienced at this facility. Everyone was kind and knowledgeable. When you are unable to see your regular vet, it can be a bit nerve racking but we felt at ease and comfortable the whole visit. Highly recommend this top notch veterinary facility!

Fantastic experience: Came from California so being from out of town I knew nothing about this clinic. My dog was a walk in and with many other animals waiting in the waiting room, they were happy to take her as a new client. Not too long after we were called back, the tech who greeted us was more like a nurse. She took vitals and checked heart, lungs, pulse etc We were there because over night my dog's eye had swollen shut. Well, they did an awesome thorough job and fixed her right up. A day later after proper treatment she is back to her old self again. Thank you to Dr. Kinsey and everyone there for being a great help to us. God bless you all.

Fantastic experience: I brought my cat Noctis in from another vet that said he had an intestinal blockage, but I couldnt afford the surgery at the first place. Then, I took him here to Animal Medical Center and I was able to afford the surgery! They did the surgery and found out that he actually had FIP, and they did everything they could to help me out so I wouldn't have to put him down. The team and doctors at Animal Medical center truly care for your pets and will do what it takes to get them well! I 100% reccomend this vet!

Fantastic experience: Our most recent visit was the one that we all most dread. Our furry companion of 15 years was diagnosed with conditions that required us to say goodbye to her. Although the check-in staff did not understand that making us stay in the waiting room was cruel, we were eventually led to an examination room where Dr. Drake and the vet tech treated us with much empathy and compassion. Dr. Drake and the vet tech were very understanding and made one of the worst days of our lives bearable. Dr. Drake helped us take our loved one's paw print as a remembrance before helping our loved one cross the rainbow bridge. Thank you to Dr. Drake for helping us navigate this most difficult time.

Fantastic experience: Great clinic. I was travelling through from Arizona to Canada and had a pet emergency. They took me in as a 'walk-in' same day and gave my little dog the treatment she needed. Fantastic experience: Mom has a habit of taking stray cats,we already have 5 now 6. We took another one in because we felt bad for the guy, he had non stop boogers. Staff was amazingly sweet,gave us medicine and not even 1 week later he is already doing better. Their prices are also affordable! Meet Boogers a.k.a Onyx ❤️

Fantastic experience: After a scare with the wind storm and our dog getting out, after a couple of hours on the search we found her and immediately took her in to get looked at just to make sure she was okay being that we didn’t know where she went or who she was with. Negative experience: Extremely expensive! Price was going to be over DOUBLE what they quoted me over the phone then charged me half of what they quoted to just leave with my dog. Offered to euthanize him for "no extra charge" I paid their ransom and left.

Fantastic experience: Had an amazing experience! My 10 year old dog was treated with kindness and love by staff and Drs. She had grown a tumor and the Drs took her in and did surgery on the same day. I am beyond pleased ❤️ she is now home recovering ❤️‍

Fantastic experience: Dr Culp is the best. Takes the time to do a thorough checkup and explains it all. New puppy so lots of good advice going forward. Other staff also friendly and helpful.

Fantastic experience: Always kind, gentle and quick services for all 4 of my animals ages 7 months to 14 years of age. Easy online appointment booking and medication refills. 10 out of 10, highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Dr Briana Hensey and assistant Georgie were super. The wellness exam was done very professionally and efficiently. Yearly shots were administered with loving care. It was a very pleasant visit and I recommend this clinic for any fur babies.

Fantastic experience: They are AMAZING and got me right in when I needed urgent care for a stray kitten that we ended up keeping of course. My original vet said they couldn’t get me in for days when this poor kitty was vomiting blood. They always give me an estimate. They are always caring and prompt. Dr Blaylock literally saved my dog’s life when she was covering at the ER Vet. They stole me from my original vet.

Fantastic experience: Everyone is always so sweet, it’s clean & my dog receives great care! We love Dr. Hardy! Edited to add: we have been with AMC since 2019 and will never go anywhere else. We have two dogs, our bully sees Dr Kinsey - and she is amazing as well. She caught pyrometra in her and with patience, care and a lot of testing we were able to get her in for a spay procedure (Dr. Hardy did the surgery, it was so easy and recovery was a breeze) it’s been almost 3 months and she is doing amazing. It’s not easy having to diagnose a pet and they not only provide great care but are also so good with talking pet owners through it too. Also- The front desk staff is always SO busy but are also on point. Highly recommend this place and love these people.

Fantastic experience: Traveling for the holidays and had a pup with an emergency. The staff was ABSOLUTELY amazing! They saw us right away, kept us updated, talked us through the entire process and ensured our fur baby was okay the entire time. Outstanding staff, clean facilities and affordable care.

Fantastic experience: Everyone was so kind and patient with my pet! I truly felt like they cared for my cat. We’ve seen Dr Kinsey and Dr Blaylock and both were fantastic! They are very timely and efficient and the pricing was reasonable compared to other vet offices in town.

Fantastic experience: I took my maltipoo Annie in for a teeth cleaning. In prepping for the procedure, Dr. Bryan found a tumor on her spleen. Dr. Hardy was able to operate on her the next day to remove the tumor before it ruptured. I am grateful to the doctors for having been so observant and skillful in performing procedures that will ultimately extend my baby’s life.

Negative experience: Would you pay $288 for a “bad draw” on blood work? Another vet told me exactly what the problem was in 1 day for an affordable price. Dr. Brie Kinsey couldn’t figure it out in 4 months unless I got a $1,600 CT scan, plus the $900 I had already given them. Another vet did an x-ray for $50, but I was never told that was an option. Gigi, the “hospital manager,” claims “I am not a doctor and neither are you.” Also, “I didn’t go to medical school, and neither did you.” Somehow she was qualified to determine this blood work is a load of bull because I don’t think it takes a doctor, let alone a fast food employee, to see there is something wrong with these results. Dr. Brie Kinsey, you are not qualified; I understand you love animals, but your affectionate attitude did not fix the mass behind my cat's ear canal. Maybe if I went somewhere else, we would have caught it sooner, sadly. Please give me the rest of my $900 back. I’m a broke 22-year-old with a very, very sick cat now because none of your treatments worked. If you care at all about your pets or your finances, STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! -Sincerely, Jenifer Puckett

Fantastic experience: I'm very impressed with this vet. They are the opitomy of how a vets office should be.They take safety and health of people's fur babies seriously. They're the safest in the area, I've never seen a vets office take so many precautions. They wear disposable gowns,gloves,shoe covers. And change after each patient .They thoroughly disinfect the room before allowing another one in that room. They are knowledgeable, caring and they listen! They genuinely care about each one of their patients. I'm in complete awe that a vet like this exists. I'm a breeder and will refer all my families to this vet. Thank you for going above and beyond any others in the area. They could learn a lot from y'all.

Fantastic experience: The Animal Medical Center is a great place to take my pets for care. Whether an annual exam or a problem that needs immediate attention, it’s easy to get an appointment. The front desk is responsive and friendly. The doctors are professional and great at giving educational information that improves my understanding of my cats. Checkout is easy. I really enjoy having such a great place to go when needed.

Negative experience: I feel in my heart that the surgeon killed my dog. Did major surgery and sent me home with him, I contacted an overnight emergency clinic and was told by the vet there that my dog needed special care. Then when he was dying just a few days later a vet at Amarillo Medical told me don’t bring him here! How cold hearted she was! I will never go there again!
