Kylie, Anais, Victoria & Dr. Walker were AMAZING and very informative!! We'll definitely be long time customers!! Negative experience: It is a wonderful atmosphere to bring my animals to, but it is extremely difficult to talk to anyone over the phone. Every time I call I'm on hold for over 45 minutes and nobody ever picks up the phone.

Fantastic experience: This place is awesome! Great prices & the service is pretty quick! I came on a Wednesday for a walk-in. They did a full work up for both of my boys (goldendoodles) & gave some recommendations. Both had heart worm tests done & one had his annual vaccinations done. They treated both my guys with care & had us out pretty quickly! Everyone is so friendly & accommodating. They do tons of shots, check out their website! & everything is really affordable.

I like to also donate some when I pay when I can bc affordable vet services are really hard to come by. Anyway the whole staff is awesome at the killeen location and I highly recommend.

Negative experience: This place doesn't care about your pet. Unless you're there to get their nuts snipped off. I used to go here all the time for simple things like flea tablets, and a lost dog chip scan. Last time they saw my dog they had concerns about his stomach and that he vomited regularly and said any issues let them know. Well my dog was hospitalized because of this and nobody has answers, thousands upon thousands of dollars spent and no answers why he was doing that until he suddenly was in critical condition and still no answers at the pet hospital. So I brought my dog in after the hospital a week later looking to get a continued script on his medicine. I was up for an entire week nursing my German shepherd back to life while he was slipping away and the moment I got him stable enough to stand up I walked in there. "Tried calling at 10am while on my way from Temple and was on hold until I arrived 45 minutes later." Only to be given the worst attitude possible. They do not care about your pets health or the suffering from any medical condition and all I got was nasty responses. "Eww you will have to go to a pet hospital or somewhere else." Not omg I'm so sorry pup and we can't treat him or write prescriptions because we really aren't a veterinary service but I know a good place that will take him in right away." No... Nothing at all these people should be ashamed of themselves and their meaningless jobs. So let me save you all a massive headache and tell you where to go. Aztec Animal Hospital does everything they do and 1000X more and they actually love animals. Plus they are affordable. Do not go to emancipet ever for anything. My dog is still alive today thankfully because I am a medical professional who put in the time and care, but most people are not and it's Aztec who's going to save your dog's life. Never go to this place ever.

My mother had a terrible experience here her dogs became ill after their vaccines I started looking into it to take my new puppy and then I read the negative reviews The real reviews. You will never take my dog my baby my puppies to another room without me. These people do not allow you to be with your dog while they're sticking it and stabbing it and doing things you don't even know do not trust these people

First impression was the best. She helped us so much to understand our new pet. She was so gentle with our Fur Baby her and the doctor. I want to say thanks to them both for a great experience.

Negative experience: They made my pregnant wife stand outside in the heat/humidity with our dog, because another dog (pitbull) was barking at my quiet dog. The vet room also reeked off marijuana.

Negative experience: I had a scheduled apt to get my dog neutered, I even got the call to confirm my apt, I drove out there and showed up with my puppy, waited in the long line with my puppy,only to find out once we had waited 15-20 minutes that they could only take females and not males and that someone would call to reschedule the neuter for the males, so all of us who had male animals, were sent home! Btw, it’s been 3 full business days and no calls or texts to re- schedule apt. I’m disappointed, because now that we’ve waisted a whole morning , there wasn’t even a follow up to try to make it right!

Fantastic experience: Very cost efficient, EXTREEMLY polite, and knowledgeable staff. No surgical complications. It is first come first served, so it is a Little time consuming, but well worth it! Junior, is a happy dog!

Fantastic experience: Even though you will have to wait in your car until you're called to come in it was totally worth it The staff was super friendly My entire vet physique cost me less than $100. That's including the preventative medication. I saved so much I Left the donation. Both of my pets will go there from now on. They are non-profit and I did notice they had a sign on the door that they were in need of towels so if you see a sign or have a chance just to donate towels or $5 definitely do it this is the best thing.

Negative experience: Staff is nice, but if you love your pet, DO NOT take them here to get spayed!!! Our kitten got spayed a week ago. We noticed a bulge where her incision is. Today, it grew a lot. We rushed her to our vet and were told she has a hernia because the vet who spayed her failed to properly suture the layers in her stomach. We have to get surgery tomorrow morning to have the hernia repaired because of the vet’s neglect.

Fantastic experience: Everyone was so helpful, lovely, kind and had lots of patience with me as a first time pet owner. Today they took care of me and my nerves before taking care of my baby for surgery today. I truly appreciate their care.

Fantastic experience: Our rescue needed an emergency spay due to pyometra, and Emancipet came through for us when we needed it most. My regular vet quoted me $2,000, which I simply couldn’t afford last minute after already paying 400$ for diagnostics. Emancipet got us in the very next day and provided the care my girl urgently needed at a price we could manage. Everyone there was incredibly friendly, compassionate, and professional. I've trusted them with my other three cats in the past and have always been pleased with the experience. You guys are truly amazing—thank you for making it possible for families like ours to get our babies the care they deserve without breaking the bank. We are so grateful!

Fantastic experience: They take care of your loved one (pet) just the same as the costly vet offices! My dog got spayed and mammary tumors removed. Everything went smoothly! The vet quoted me $1500 and Emancipet did it all for $700. You can't beat the price nor the loving care they give. I appreciate their existence!!!

Fantastic experience: So I took my puppy dog, Kruella-Di, who is 10 months old, to get spaded on Friday the 25th. I had called a few weeks before to schedule the appointment. The cost was $125, I got her microchipped for $20, nails clipped for $10, an umbilical hernia repair for $20, and a protective cone, so she doesn't lick the surgical area $11. Total was $186. I told the lady I only had $178, so I was going to have to take something off. And they were super kind to let me pay the $178 and still get all services. So when I initially first got there to register my doggie, the ladies assisting the vets were totally awesome in assisting me and getting things set up with paperwork. I watched these ladies take care in caring for other people's dogs as well as mine, as we waited in line, starting at 8:00 a.m. The ladies that assisted the vets, and the ladies at the front desk, we're awesome and I appreciate their kindness. Woot woot to all those ladies at emancipet on the day of my puppy dogs surgery. Great customer service, great pricing, and super kind humans, I love it! JLGP

Fantastic experience: I’ve been using the mobile clinic days to vaccinate my cats and purchase flea/tick/heartworm meds. It’s saved me so much time and money from the vet - AND the customer service didn’t suffer. The day after Vxs one of my kitties was limping and crying out in pain from the leg she received FeLV Vx. They responded to my concerns immediately, asking me to bring her in right then. Even though a non-topical reaction didn’t align with a typical allergic reaction to the vaccine site, they offered me the acknowledgment that even if not a direct vaccine reaction, she could have been handled by tech and/or over-extended herself during examination in a way that strained her leg. They sent me home with some pain meds mostly to keep her from jumping around the house for few just a few days and it was like $7 and a free vx recheck. She bounced back quickly and I was thankful I called them before racking up an expensive ER bill to subside my worries. They care so much and I couldn’t credit them more for what they do for our community.

Fantastic experience: Best care at affordable prices! I always bring my fur family here. Highly recommend getting in here early if you’re trying to be first in line. On weekends people are usually lined up an hour before it opens so the waiting list can get long. But! Really appreciate the care here ❤️

Fantastic experience: I took my dog in to get spayed and they took great care of her. Everyone was very friendly too. I will say the wait was longer than I expected and you have to wait outside, so be prepared for that. They tell you to allow 30-45 minutes to get checked in and fill out paperwork, but it actually took 1 1/2 hours. They are super busy so be patient. The cost and great care is definitely worth the wait.

Fantastic experience: I booked my cat (Honey) for a neuter appointment. It costed $89 for the neuter. I also got him microchipped and rabies vaccine here. They do have a list of vaccines with prices you can get done for your pets. As soon as I got there, there was a line of people. The lady took my cat inside and I had to wait in line to fill out paperwork. They do text you when your animal is ready for pick up. They do offer payment plans if needed. They do email and print out your paperwork when picking up your animal. My boy cat is sooooooo loving and extra affectionate after getting neutered. He was loving before he got neutered, but he is very much more now. He is so calm. Whenever he is sleeping in my bed and I get up to move, he doesn’t even move. Before, he would run away off the bed. Neutering my cat did change his hormones, of course. I hope it will help his behavior to not pee on my husband’s belongings anymore. I do hope this business is able to move into a better building. That is more spacious and nicer for their employees and customers. City of Killeen needs to bless them.

Positive experience: I have went back and forth about writing this review, but I really feel I need to warn future clients when it comes to spay/neuter services and the experience my little guy and I had. First of all the staff was wonderful, I can not complain at all about the customer ervice we received.....my issue if the amount of medication they gave my little 6 pound maltipoo that I had neutered. What an experience. First I want to list all the meds they gave him....Lidocaine 2% Local Anesthesia, Meloxicam Inj 5mg/mL (pain med), Midazolam Inj 5mg/mL (anti-anxiety) Ketamine Inj 100mg/mL (anesthesia) , Acepromazine 10mg/mL (sedative), Butorphanol Inj 10mg/mL (opiod pain med), Isoflurane (Anesthesia). I by no means have any experience in Vet medicine, however on a personal note, it is my personal opinion that this drug list may have been excessive. I couldn't schedule him with his normal vet due to availability, he was booked out, so I made the decision to go here, I wish I hadn't. My little guy has been under anesthesia several times to have his teeth cleaned and always comes out of anesthesia beautifully, no issues at all. On this day he was neutered at Emancipet, saying he came home drugged is an understatement. Today is day 9 since surgery and he is just now returning to his old self. We really thought we were going to lose him. He was dehydrated, lethargic, constant diarrhea and vomiting (i realistically expected some of this but no to this extent), he wouldn't eat for days. I took him in to his normal vet within 24 hours of the neuter, and they kept him for 3 days flushing his system....it was touch and go. I was a nervous wreck. My normal vet explained to me that places like Emancipet tend to operate on quantity, due to the amount of pets the operate on in one day and there is goal is to keep the "masses" calm and quiet, to minimize disturbances and maximize productivity. All I can say, is never again. My little guy is my spirit animal and I don't know what I would do without him. Yes, I take accountability too because I just should have waited for my family vet to be available, but I just bought a new home and he was marking his territory everywhere and needed the neuter done. Lesson learned. I hope this helps.....

Positive experience: I’m not sure how truly competitive the prices are but my vet charged the same after the added office visit fee was tacked on that I was not made aware of. It was not listed on the website and was not mentioned to me until the end to pay. Also, the wait (3 hours this visit) may not be worth it if you’re paying the same as other clinics who can get you in sooner. The staff seemed nice, but they seemed overwhelmed. I get that it’s a non profit and I get the goal, nice concept but could be executed better. Plus they still try and up-sale you like the rest.

Negative experience: I’ve been trying to call for days. 3x Killeen each time said they’d call back when I was next in line. Still waiting day 3!!! I ended up calling Austin and am still waiting on the phone 30 mins so far. If you can’t answer the phone the message should say so. Feeling very frustrated!!!

Fantastic experience: Their examination advised me of my 14 year old chihuahua's heart murmur which explained his lack of activity lately. They were careful and genuinely concerned for my dog's well being. The rabies shots went well and were very affordable.

Negative experience: I rated Emancipet Killeen a 1 because 0 wasn't available. Rude man intake person, wait to pick up beyond long. You will take hours to be seen. Screamed at me to get in line outside even though I was just picking up.waited in line only for the same man and a woman get smart with me about waiting in line and to be respectful to them. They will upcharge you from basic spay or neuter so you pay way more than website prices. So have cash in hand. No instruction on how to pick up or drop off. Building looks shady inside and out. Please find another place you can do better.

Negative experience: I don’t know what has happened over the past couple years, but this place has continued to downfall. I scheduled an appointment for a neuter for my cat because you can only schedule appointments now my appointment was at 8 o’clock. I wasn’t able to get my cat checked in I wasn’t able to leave or pay until after 10 o’clock Even after expressing that I will be late for work even after expressing that on the pre-instructions it said 30 minutes to 45 minutes for check-in. It never said two hours. These people are not accommodating their customers, but are charging $20 for a visit.

Positive experience: The line of people was turned away because some of their staff decided not to show up to work today. Now some of us are going to have to take an extra day off of work in order to get our animals taken care of

Fantastic experience: I was financially struggling so I had to find a cheaper alternative to my vet, who would have charged me quite a bit to spay my nearly five year old cat. I was happy to see they specialize in spaying and that they have the information laid out online about what to expect for the process, including the prices. Calling was quick and easy (I did have to wait to talk to someone but call volume was a little high), and the appointment was set up in no time. They told me everything to expect before I got her in and when I did, they made sure I had all her information correct and let me know how everything would work. The process was quick and I was messaged she was alright to be picked up at a certain time. I especially gave a five star because they took the extra care to keep an eye on my cat when it was discovered that there were two cats of the same color, hair length, and name with only a pound difference between pretty much. They did everything they could to make sure the correct cat went to the correct person. I'm very pleased with this place and I definitely would keep it in mind if I have another fur baby that needs taken care of. I'm also plotting to take her for vaccines.

Fantastic experience: Emancipet is one of the very few animal clinics left that truly cares for our pets. They don’t gouge you for their services. It’s nice to kick them a few extra $$ because they are able to keep costs so low. I enjoy taking my cats here because I know my MC’s will be truly taken care of. Negative experience: Once a staff nurse gets online it's alright I guess,my best friend buddie died tonight 11/15 when if there payment plans were different they could have saved my best friend buddie.u would of given them access to my bank account ,my car title anything to get a 7 day credit.i live in a fixed income and this was unexpected .so a 2 star rating

Negative experience: They don’t actually know what they’re talking about. Not even “The Doctor” I’ve never seen. The one who especially doesn’t know what she is talking about is the the girl with (currently) short black and red hair. These seem like individuals who just bought cats and have been taking care of them for like two weeks and got hired here and started giving people pet care advice with little to no knowledge or experience with pet care. They are all so ditsy and clueless. I doubt they even know how to stick a pet properly to give shots. Terrible staff. AND the (currently) red and black haired female laughed and continued laughing at the conditions of my pet trying to get her coworkers in on laughing with her. I’m sure these girls are sweet but I very strongly disliked my experience. Even the non existent doctor that they kept running to for “answers” seems to have little to no knowledge on pets and/or pet care. The answers they came back with to tell me were so??? Like did you look that up on google or something? Did you ask a 10 year old that before coming to tell me about a serious condition my pet may have?

Negative experience: I would recommend just paying normal price and going to your vet for what services you may need. We took our sweet puppy in to get neutered and he came home super sick. Within 24 hours he was sneezing and coughing. He was having difficulty breathing and by that point he had already spread it on to our other two dogs. We have been having to treat them with over the counter kennel cough medicine because we don’t have the funds to have them seen. The lady that checked my pup in didn’t ask me any medical questions(he wasn’t sick before hand). Other people were being asked but our sweet pups are sick now because other dogs aren’t being screened and checked in properly. We have tried to reach out with no response or help. I’d stay far away! So sad that a place we would love to support has failed us with a lack of communication and sympathy for what happened.

Negative experience: They ignored my puppies shot records, told me that they don’t trust breeders even though I have proper paperwork from a registered breeder. Over charged me for puppy shots, gave my puppy extra shots he already had. When confronted they tried to say we didn’t give them medical records. We clearly did because how do you know he came from a breeder. Then tried to cover their butts by asking me for the medical records via email. Then tells me they will look into a refund. Never taking my dogs back to this careless vet again. They get zero stars

Positive experience: Not an actual vet they just do shots and said/neuter. Amazing staff that helped refer me to a place I can go but I am incredibly disappointed with the fact I couldn't get my dog prescribed steroids for her Cherry eye but I get y'all do a lot for people and there's unfortunately only so much y'all can provide. sorry for the previous low review my pups not feeling well and I was acting childish cuz I'm scared.

Fantastic experience: I've had two dogs spayed by the Killeen Emancipet location so far. Both went smoothly. The second time around I was more prepared as I knew what to expect. The staff are very professional and great with all fur babies. Prices here are so much more affordable which is a huge blessing especially in these times when everyone is struggling. Thank you for helping us be great pet parents by keeping these services within reach. Tips for anyone going in for spay or neuter: arrive early. Like, at least 30 minutes before 8 am. Parking gets hard to find so you'll end up walking the later you arrive and the line gets long fast so if you don't want to be standing there longer than everyone else the earlier you arrive, the better. Buy your baby a medical recovery onesie on Amazon in advance. Bring their most recent shot records if you have them.

Positive experience: I wish I just paid more at my actual vet to get my dog neutered. I completely understand the wait list and why I had to wait months to get it done, and I appreciate what they’re trying to do for people, I understand that they are busy and probably overwhelmed but I have some concerns. Pick up time was at 4pm and I showed up at 3:50. I was told to go wait outside in the afternoon heat in a line to wait for them to bring him out which I found ridiculous and it just felt wrong. The other people there with me in line waiting to pick up their dogs felt the same way. I opted to get a microchip for him, I was told to enroll the chip within a week or they would do it themselves with the info on file. Less than 24 hours after I picked him up I went to enroll it and it had already been done. The info they had on file was my boyfriend’s, he set the appointment for me but the dog is mine. I’m completely fine that it is in his name now, I just don’t understand why that initiative was taken on my behalf when he’s my dog and I should have been given the chance to do it myself. The biggest issue was that my friend got her dog spayed with Emancipet some time ago and it was botched, she lost a spleen and had a terrible recovery. Poor thing. If you can afford it please just go to your vet instead.

Fantastic experience: The staff is amazing. You can see that they really care about the pets. And Dr. Knowles, what can I say. She was so kind, loving, caring, and empathetic towards my fur baby, Mr. Max. She was very soft spoken when she talked to Max, and that calmed him down. I could tell that she loves her job and loves her fur patients. And the prices are super reasonable. I highly recommend emancipate in Killeen.

Fantastic experience: Staff was great with our dog for his neutering. Max is already very uneasy when it comes to strangers and they were able to take amazing care of him. Great prices compared to a traditional vet office

Negative experience: We brought our sweet kitten in to get fixed and they mixed his paperwork up with another cat and ended up cutting his ear tip off because they thought he was a feral cat. In addition to performing that negligent procedure, they also gave him double doses of vaccines that he had just had, as well as performed blood tests that they were never given consent for. They comped the price of everything, however, that still doesn’t excuse the negligence in my opinion. They need a better way of identifying house pets from feral cats and should double check paperwork before cutting the ears off of pets.

Positive experience: 4 rates for cheap price and careful/friendly staff. 1 rate missing because of the long waiting line. I went there 20 mins past opening time(10am), and I had to wait 4 hours. It is better to get in the wait list as soon as they open.

Negative experience: I waited more than 6 hours just to get a pill (flea and tick prevention). I think time management could be a lot better. I checked in at 10am, just right when they opened. I do truly appreciate having a low cost/affordable clinic but people’s time also matter. And the exam rooms need to cleaned and sweep . There was dog fur flying on me and my dog. Good hygiene is also important.

Fantastic experience: Get there early to get on the wait-list. I got there at 11 and waited 2 hours, which was fine. We just got something to eat and hung out at the dog park. All the staff was great

Fantastic experience: Pretty busy during certain hours. Highly recommend getting there as early as you can to avoid the wait-list/line & get a good parking spot. Workers are very knowledgeable, friendly & very attentive to the needs of your pet(s) which is a plus. Just a little pushy as far as certain add-on shots/services which is understandable but the whole point of me coming here vs the vet I went to before was to avoid the extra costs... But I probably spent about the same if not a little more than expected.

Fantastic experience: I thank Emancipet is a very experienced about animals and the employees really care about the animals they are very fast and efficient and always keep you informed about your pet and what going on with your pet. Positive experience: It was great very busy. Long wait but worth the wait. we waited outside on the porch. It was nice to see all the pets.

Fantastic experience: I am very happy with them!! Extremely cost effective and nice to my babies. They now have a way to give out SOAP notes/ Drs Notes. Let them know you need them. They are so popular make sure u book early and ask to be on the cancelation list. As with all things the prices have went up but still very low cost and can be budgeted for.

Fantastic experience: I always donate after a visit, this place is great for anyone who needs shots for their pets and don't have the ability to spend a small fortune for it. You WILL have a wait time, come early. I usually go home and they will text you when you're up, you'll have 30 mins to arrive. They are not free, but the fees are very affordable

Fantastic experience: They took great care of my cats. The process was easy to follow. Three days later and my animals are doing great. Very nice incisions on the spay and neuter.
