Fantastic experience: I cannot put into words how amazing Dr. Truett is. My dog had an emergency and she had to undergo surgery, and like a professional Dr. Truett prepared me for the worse. It was a difficult time, but Dr. Truett ended up saving my dog's life. Dr. Truett will forever have a special place in my heart. My dog had to stay for 3 nights, and I don't think she could've recovered without the assistance of the staff. She loved Kristen and anyone's animal who is in her presence will feel her love and warmth. Dr. De Villa also was a pleasure. I'm from Texas, but I couldn't have been at a better place for what happened.

Negative experience: UPDATE: They now are emailing me medical records that are not even my pets...this place is INCOMPETENT. Stay Clear of this Facility: Dr Patterson, one of the owners is the most condescending joke of a Veterinarian. Because I voiced my disagreements or disdain on several procedures, his apparent god-complex could not handle the criticism. I had been going to this clinic for almost 2 years. In that time, most diagnoses that have been made on my cats were suggested by ME, not the doctor, only to find out that I was right. Meds have been prescribed at the wrong dosage and with other meds that should not be taken together, but not told to me. Procedures were done without discussing cost or approval. The final straw is that I recently lost my 17.5 year old very healthy cat due to their negligence. Patterson claims they followed "protocol", yet PROTOCOL is the very BASICS of care, not the highest of care. I asked for a STAT Pathology report on a tumor removal and was ignored, thus causing my cat to have an additional surgery, within a week, that was unnecessary. She also was getting necrosis in her tongue and I was told on two consecutive days that she was fine and that the discoloration was from possible bruising, not considering that it was necrotizing (Dr Truitt). She had to get that part of her tongue amputated and died 5 days later. Had I received the pathology results on that day, she would not have gone through the second surgery, as she was confirmed with cancer. When I discussed the sequential problems, I was told that all PROTOCOLS were followed. That is simply a LAZY and LACKLUSTER statement. They are trying so hard to make more money and losing all care for the animals we bring to them. Since my personal Vet (who tried to step outside Protocols) is leaving, I received a letter in my email today stating that they were terminating services with me. They don't want to deal with the neglect and malpractice they gave to my little girl. I would RUN from this clinic and never look back. The service has become garbage, as trying to leave messages and make appointments has become like pulling teeth. They have many office staffers (new ones) that are clueless as to what they are doing, yet Patterson "stands behind his staff". Let's see what happens when this clinic is closed down from his poor attitude and service. Again, my opinion is to RUN from this CLINIC.

Fantastic experience: Incredible experience. I brought my sweet Wyatt in after she was having issues from eating plastic (unlike her). This vet team was timely, knowledgable, reassuring, friendly, and truly helpful in our situation. I felt very heard by the team. They explained in a way that I understood what was going on.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Griffis did an amazing job during a hard time for us. He made yogis last few minutes on this earth good. He had some good background sounds going on and explained everything in detail. We hated having to make this decision but yogi was in alot of pain and it was his time. I would recommend this place 12 out of 10 times.

Fantastic experience: Central Vet is truly exceptional. They cared for our dog, Sophia, throughout her life, and today they showed us just how special this practice really is. From the very first phone call early this morning, when we were panicked and sitting at an emergency vet, the compassion was immediate. The person who answered the phone heard the fear in my voice and did everything possible to get us seen right away. From that moment on, every single staff member treated us with incredible kindness. They helped us carry Sophia into the office, gently walked us through aftercare options, and gave us the space and time we needed. Multiple vet techs came in, got down on the floor with us, and cried alongside us as we held our girl. The veterinarian who administered the final medication was patient, gentle, and stayed with us until Sophia’s last heartbeat. What sets Central Vet apart is how deeply they honor the bond between pets and their people. They truly saw how much we loved Sophia and handled every moment with compassion, dignity, and care. Because of them, one of the hardest days of our lives was made just a little easier. We will be forever grateful to this team for the love they showed our dog while she was alive and for the grace they showed our family when it was time to say goodbye.

Fantastic experience: This place deserves 7 out of 5 stars. Seems everywhere else I go, they are playing a.guessing game. Had to take my Dog to Karns Animal Clinic due to Central being closed because of holiday. They played Guessing Game yet again. My last dog Zena passed away at Central because of Karns.Not again THANKFULLY!!! CENTAL ANIMAL HOSPITAL SAVED MY BABY. AND DIDNT CHANGE AN ARM AND A LEG!!! So thankful for them.

Fantastic experience: Seriously the greatest vet clinic I've ever been to. The most kind, genuine, amazing staff of all time. Seriously, from checking in at the front desk to any service my cat has received has been beyond exceptional. I moved from Knoxville and no vet has compared. They're all the best!

Fantastic experience: This place is the best! They got us in quickly so we could adopt a stray cat and bring her inside before it gets cold. Everyone who works here is incredibly helpful and kind, from the receptionists to assistants to veterinarians. They went above and beyond to make our cat feel comfortable and safe (and us, we were nervous). Highly recommend, I appreciate these folks so much!

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough good things about this vet. I have never been to a vet that cares so much about your pet. They loved and cared for my dog so much. Unfortunately I recently lost her to cancer but the vets at Central Vet Hospital were there every single step of the way making sure I felt okay and making sure that Bee got the care and love during her last days. I cannot thank them enough for the support that they have provided me through this hard time.

The entire staff was very friendly and patient as they took care of my cat and explaining everything to me as well. Super affordable and all around a great experience. Fantastic experience: I can not say enough about the care and compassion for this Vet office. My daughters dog recently go cancer- and from the first visit to the last every staff member to the drs. They were caring, called to check on Bee, updated and explained the process. Bee final moments were peaceful and surrounded by love from the us and each staff member that we interacted with. Fantastic experience: My wife and I had The misfortune of having to put down one of our fur babies on October 20th 2025, the entire staff were very caring and compassionate towards us. I recommend bringing your pets to this facility because they will be well taken care of and help you make the best decision for your pets.

Fantastic experience: We had The best experience! We highly recommend the facility and Dr. Truett! Vacationing from out of state, on the weekend, out of regular office hours. Our 14 year old lab/golden Maisy's problem was treated above and beyond what we would have anticipated. We can now enjoy the rest of our vacation without worry about her condition and have a treatment plan going forward with our clinic at home. The staff was amazing. Everyone was kind and caring. Fantastic experience: Our Yorkie is 13 years old and came to us after my father-in-law (Steve Smith) unexpectedly passed away. "Riley" is a piece of him that we cherish unlike anything else that we possess within our hearts... that being said, "Riley" has began showing his age with an enlarged heart and a murmer that gets terrible when factoring in allergy season cough and sneeze that puts too much stress on his Itty bitty body. When we were facing the choices of what the costs within the vet realm and the medication associated with this issue, we were facing a hard time swallowing the loss of him without this care due to our limited finances. This place took "Riley" in after other places took our money and left us without any finances to afford the meds while sending us on our way to watch him fade away without any way to alleviate his symptoms. They took him without question after seeing our plight and waived the costs of his visit and then gave us the meds without reservations to what their bottom line was going to be. As I understand, this place has private funding that they put in on his case after they understood our hearts, our limited finances, and how serious the case was to his suffering without meds. They have taken on our world onto themselves and the blessings that they have bestowed upon the community is surely unfathomable to understand how many lives are more fulfilled and how much love they have for the animals within their bubble of capabilities. If anyone wants to truly help out to donate funds, have somewhere to donate items, or have capabilities that will used fully to a truly worthwhile cause without any doubts, then this place is a true God send to more lives than could be known to anyone outside of the business. Thank you for the time you have given us to spend with "Riley" in the latter years of his life... he has became the dog that he was 5 years ago and probably will enjoy a few more now... God "bless the meek, and they shall inherit the earth!"

Fantastic experience: We came to Knoxville all the way from Kingsport (1.5 hours) just for Central. The wait time at our local after-hours/emergency vet? 6 hours. We actually loaded up, drove to Knoxville, got seen and treated, loaded back up and drove home, all in less time than we would have been waiting at the local option. And let me say, the standard of care was EXTRAORDINARY. We had a Shih Tzu who had been scratched in the eye by a cat. They had us in a room immediately, and the eye was examined in under half an hour. We got medication and instructions, and everything was very easy and well-explained. The staff is very friendly, and the lady at the front desk was so warm and kind. I also want to point out that everything smelled clean and fresh. Sometimes, veterinary hospitals can kinda smell like wet dog + bleach. Central was spotlessly clean and well-kept, and smelled clean and fresh throughout the building. Central is so good that I am now changing my behavior, and will be driving 1.5 hours for all after-hours/emergency vet needs, because Central is worth it. Trust them with your pets, and they will take excellent care of them.

Fantastic experience: Love Central Vet!! My family and I have been bringing our pets here for a long time. Never had any issues, love the staff, and providers!

Negative experience: Never before have I felt such disrespect from a place like CVH. When you think of this place, think of antagonism and a betrayal of community and common decency. Never again will I step foot near their building.

Fantastic experience: Dr. MARTIN has saved two of my dogs' lives with emergency surgery through the years. I used to work for a veterinarian office in Kingsport, and Dr. MARTIN went to school with the wonderful veterinarian that I used to work for which added yet another level of trust. And I trust him completely. His skill is on point and his heart is definitely in the right place. He later saved my husband's dog, when he ate a couch cushion, with yet another emergency surgery. WOW!

Fantastic experience: Our fur baby was sick and we took her here and the whole staff was wonderful. We ended up having to put her to sleep as she had no quality of life left and was so sick. Dr Truett was very compassionate and told us our options and was very understanding and helpful through the whole process. I will go back here for sure with other pets for routine or emergency care and highly recommend them!

Positive experience: Good experience with doctor’s caring and advice. The waiting room can be crowded and crazy. Wait time to get pets prescription filled can take a while.

Fantastic experience: About a year ago I came in with my brand new puppy that had Parvo from crappy breeders. He was in a very very bad state already within the first 24hrs I had him. They were able to quickly identify it was Parvo and got him treated and saved this sweet baby boy. Just wanted to send in some pictures to show hes doing well!

Fantastic experience: Amazing staff. They were compassionate and caring and told us the cost of every thing that was needed before we did the next procedure for our dog.

Positive experience: Called NorthEast central and was told dog needed to be seen right away. Was sent to Downtown and told I would have to pay for ugent care. understood and agreed. then sat for almost 2 hours until finally gave up and went to ask why if i was urgent care shouldnt someone be more urgent at checking my animal. Vet was nice and helpful but overall bad experience for an urgent care.

Fantastic experience: Even if the doctor is amazing, if the office staff is horrible and lacks customer service, I will stop using the business, but that’s never been the case at Central Vet. In all the years we’ve taken our pets there, we’ve only had positive experiences, and the staff consistently goes above and beyond. Just the other day, I called in worried about something with my puppy. Sarah answered the phone, and she immediately made me feel supported and understood. She treated my concern like it was her own, took the time to walk through everything with me, made call backs... she could’ve made it much easier on herself, but she did several steps and went over expectations to be of assistance. That’s real customer service! That’s what caring looks like! This is just one more reason we continue to trust and choose Central Vet. The team doesn’t just do their job… they truly care!

My senior orange tabby and I visited Central Vet for a second opinion on a misdiagnosis and received impeccable care and attention, and incredibly low prices comparatively! Negative experience: I am a reputable breeder in killen Alabama. I had a Knoxville resident reach out inquiring about purchasing a puppy. Everything checked out and I was excited to work with her and get her family a special little bundle of joy. Less than 24 hours of having the puppy she took him to the vet because he didnt have a good appetite and had runny stool. Two fairly normal things for a ouppy who's not adjusted to their new home. While at the vet she is communicating with me and said the vet has diagnosed him with parvo. The vet refuses to speak with me. There is no way possible the puppy has parvo otherwise id be knee deep in bloody stool and vomit. Everyone in my home was well and healthy, no concerns at all. She informs me he will be staying for treatment against my advice, which was to take him home and let him get used to being in his new environment. The test came back positive because the puppy had received a vaccine 7 days prior to the test and they can 100 percent come back positive with a modified-live vaccine. Which is what he received at 8 and 12 weeks old. The owner wouldnt share which vet he was at or give me any other information at all, just completely shut me out which is odd behavior because im just doing my best to help... I found out what vet he was at and was able to speak to the office manager, I gave her all the information I possibly could regarding the care for my adults as well as how I raise and care for my puppies. She wasn't able to share any updates on the puppy in their care but at least I could speak my peace and let them know they were absolutely wrong in their diagnosis. I tried to reach her again and was told she would call me back but still have not heard a word. I just think this was completely unprofessional and the family now believes im the bad guy because their vet told them thier puppy had parvo. I would never let a sick puppy go home. I understand the vet has a job to do but I know this puppy didnt have parvo because everyone else in my home is completely healthy.

Fantastic experience: They took us in with less than 20 minutes left open . Haven’t been so thankful in a while, the doctor was very very kind and loving to Archie. all thanks to the doctor and staff for a very quick assurance and their help in a scary situation.

Fantastic experience: This is my second visit to this veterinary clinic, and I can confidently say they’re absolutely amazing. From the front desk to the vet techs and doctors, every staff member is kind, patient, and incredibly informative. My cat can definitely be on the grumpy and difficult side, but they always handle him with such care and understanding—never making me feel rushed or unwelcome. They take their time, explain everything clearly, and truly treat you and your pet with compassion and respect. Fantastic experience: This vet/emergency clinic is absolutely amazing. We had to take our little fuzzy butt here due to a growth. The first visit they said they can operate but suggested a primary visit for it first due to our financial situation. The primary we went to denied the procedure. I called Central back the next day and was in that same day. My little fur baby is recovering. These people are a blessing and take their job very seriously. Thank you all for your hard work love and care for these animals that we call family.

Negative experience: We brought a sick cat in and they r proceeded to telll us that there wasn’t much they could do. Before the end of the day about all they could recommend was “humane euthanasia”, no offer of comfort measures so that furbaby could die outdoors where he enjoyed being so much. As he wasn’t in distress we sat in the car with windows die so he could be in the out-of-doors as he quietly departed surrounded by those that loved him taking turns giving him gentle massages and loving on him. Euthanasia is not the only humane option in every case.

Fantastic experience: Central Veterinary Hospital helped us on Sunday with an emergency with our dog. We were forced to put her to sleep, and they were extremely kind, helpful, and respectful. I would recommend them without reservation.

Fantastic experience: Extremely kind and caring place. Went in for an emergency euthanasia for my sweet kitty having cluster seizures. They got me straight back and gave me the time I needed with him. The staff helped us thru the terrible experience with so much compassion and grace. I cannot say enough good things about them.

Fantastic experience: Our first visit there was outstanding! Vet Heather treated my dog with such compassion and patience even with him having reactive issues. . We called morning of and they were able to get us in by 11AM. I told my fiance this will now be our new vet from here on out. Katherine called me 5 days later to check up on him. They just all around are so caring and great!

Negative experience: We've only been going here for about a year (5-7 visits). Our dog was in last Monday for a Cushings disease test (2nd one) and still haven't gotten a call from them. I've left at least 5 voice-mails and have yet to actually speak to someone. No return calls, nothing. This has been incredibly frustrating as they are the highest review vet in the area. Mind you every other visit before had been fine and we had fast results and answers.

Fantastic experience: They were super quick and helped my sweet Bella . And loved on her so much. Highly recommend . Drove all the way from Morristown to have her treated here and I will continue to for any future reasons!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to this vet since 2023, and I liked going here because I always felt the prices were really fair. The doctors were ok, but mostly stayed because the prices. Then I started to see Dr. De Villa and I can’t imagine a better doctor for my cats. He called me one day to check on my boy. He figured out he had an auto immune disease, and we were able to skip expensive tests and figure it out because he’s so knowledgeable. The receptionists and admin staff are so sweet. The vet techs are awesome. Really love this place can’t recommend it enough. (Maybe get your pet spayed and neutered somewhere else though like young Williams)

Fantastic experience: Dr.B and Mercedes, thank you for everything. I brought in my cat, Cake, not knowing it was her time to go to heaven. And the staff was very comforting, respectful and kind to my self and to Cake for her last minutes. I looked through the window into the employees area to see Mercedes being so gentle with and petting Cake. They love animals and care for their patients at Central Vet, and I’d recommend them to anybody. They were very informative, and open with the costs and what was suspected to be going on with Cake. Such a sad time made easier because of Central Vet.

Fantastic experience: Called in today and spoke to Laura she was so sweet, we came into get our dogs prescription filled after our last vet refused to send it to us because we were out of state and they were so nice they got us in same day for a quick wellness check we got our script and we’re on our way! Doctor was great too! Definitely will come again as well as recommend! Thank you guys

Fantastic experience: I have been taking my dog here for about a year now. He is my baby and has some chronic health issues. They have always been so willing to answer my questions, be honest with me about pricing and diagnostics. They have a text option when you become a client that I really appreciate because I can just text and ask a non urgent question which they can answer when they aren’t busy. The vets are all so knowledgeable and the techs really care for your pets if they are hospitalized. Pig was hospitalized a few months ago and they let me come and visit and sit with him everyday which meant the world to me because I was convinced it was his final few days (he is still living happily thanks to their hard work and care). 10/10 take your pets here! They aren’t too expensive at all either.

Fantastic experience: My neighbor's dog had attacked my English Bulldog in my yard late last Saturday evenjng. In a rush, I looked for an emergency clinic. Central Vet Hospital was the closest one. I got there after 2330. I did not know they closed at 0000. When I called to let them know I was in the parking lot, the lady on the phone said they would see him, but they closed soon and may need to send me elsewhere. She was very nice, but I was quite upset over my dog. I was there and decided to go in to see what could be done. Those ladies stayed well after closing time and took care of my boy! Pricing was very good, the vet talked to me and explained everything prior to doing any work on him and after they completed.

Fantastic experience: I have always had the BEST experience with Central Vet. Always responsive & follows up! I’ve taken both my cats for routine & after ER vet visits. I feel like they explain things super well & give you honest recommendations. I don’t think I’ll ever go anywhere else!

Fantastic experience: Our 18 year old cat was showing signs of blood in stool and was lethargic. We thought and were hoping it was GI related but turned out to show signs of lymphoma. Had to put her to sleep. Dr. Truitt was so informative. She and the rest of the staff were amazing with support. Since then we decided to take our 8 year old cat there with signs of an eye infection. Again, Dr. B. was so nice and caring. (Is better now.) Thank you to the Dr.'s and the staff for amazing care of our fur babies. We are moving all of our vet needs to Central Vet now. Fantastic experience: I am so very thankful for all the kind staff and their care given to my puppy Preacher when he had a few health scares back to back! Dr. Ferrell, Dr. de Villa, and Dr. G all provided excellent care. Extra thanks to Dr. G for seeing Preacher when I was uncertain if I should freak out or not, and for being reassuring!

Fantastic experience: We were traveling and our dachshund suddenly had an urgent need to be seen by a vet. A tooth had abcessed. Your clinic was kind, prompt and even called us to let us know that a cancellation earlier in the day was available. When we got to the clinic, the staff and vet treated us kindly and professionally and we were able to safely travel back home safely. Our little guy is now at his own vet having the matter attended to. Thank you for your generosity of spirit and for the excellent medical care. We were blown away.

Fantastic experience: The staff here is always beyond kind, probably the nicest vet staff I've ever interacted with. They have always been able to get my girls in on a short notice. There's a lady that works the front desk here, (she's tall with dark hair) that is always so sweet and cuddly with my dachshund. I definitely recommend this business, all locations have been great.

Fantastic experience: Had to come on a Sunday for a minor emergency with my granddog/service dog extraordinaire visiting from out of state. The staff were kind and thorough and obviously loved their jobs and animals. I thought the cost was reasonable, especially considering many vets don't work on weekends. Highly recommend!!!

Fantastic experience: Sweet and welcoming staff! The doctor was also great and answered all questions. He was attentive and I never felt like the visit was rushed. Very happy with the care received for my pup. We just moved to the area this past summer and it is always stressful finding a new vet. I am happy to have found a great office to care for my pups!

Fantastic experience: Ellie was experiencing congestive heart failure. Having lost a little dog 6 years ago under similar circumstances, my heart was breaking. The whole staff was so kind from the moment I came in with Ellie, and they took her back immediately to start treating her. They were good at keeping me informed, and I felt confident in their ability to give her the best care. Dr. B has such a gentle manner and it was very obvious in talking with her, she knows what she's doing and loves the animals. I knew nothing about Central before being directed here by another office. I think we've found a new veterinarian office for our fur babies. BTW Our 14 year old Ellie has recovered and is doing great. Thank you, Central staff, for saving her life and giving us more happy days with sweet little Ellie Boo-Boo.

Fantastic experience: Central Vet has been a tremendous addition to our pets' family. Their care goes beyond the professional and well into creating a village of love surrounding me and my pets whether they're well and just need boosters or they're ill/injured and need immediate attention. They have appointments regularly available. They're hours are great for my schedule. They make me feel like family. I've even had to walk away from two of my pups who they've helped to usher over the rainbow bridge over the years, and it was done with such care and compassion for both me and especially my old girls, may they rest in peace. I cannot recommend them more.

Fantastic experience: I took my dog here for urgent care. I didn’t know to call ahead. They were so nice and friendly, took us right back, even though we hadn’t called ahead. My dog was examined with care and love. We were given several options for treatment and the pricing of those options so we could decide what might be the best route of treatment for us. Turns out my dog had injured her back. I opted to do kennel rest and medications without expensive X-rays for the time being, but we could always bring her back if she got worse. She’s been doing great and already feeling better! I’m glad to have urgent care facility in Knoxville. Thank you Central for taking care of my baby!

Fantastic experience: I was concerned about my 8 week old pug puppy. I called to explain my concerns to see if they could possibly see him that same day. They did work him in and saw him quickly. I felt much better and reassured after they saw him Everyone was kind, polite & professional. This will be our regular veterinarian office!

Fantastic experience: I was really impressed with the staff at Central Veterinary Hospital. They're very helpful and caring and their communication back and forth about our cat Wolfie and his condition was excellent! They have long hours for late nights and we were able to visit Wolfie several times over his stay. The best thing was they got him fixed up great and now he's back home and back to his old self. ❤️

Fantastic experience: In the midst of a crisis for my beagle who cut her leg digging, Central Vet was responsive, compassionate, friendly, and focused entirely on the provision of care! Fantastic experience: We had a great first experience with Central Vet getting our doggy girl set up with a new vet practice and getting her Cytopoint shot. Parking is a little tricky at the moment with ongoing construction so allow a little extra time.

Fantastic experience: My cat was very sick and they were waiting to meet me at the door. Immediately rushed out baby back to be put on oxygen. Emmie was incredibly kind and patient when we knew it was time for euthanasia. She explained the process and gave us plenty of time to be with our cat after he crossed his rainbow bridge. I am forever thankful as difficult as this was. Even made us paw prints and his cute little nose after he had passed away. Thank you for everything!

Fantastic experience: This is the best of the best, every doctor here is amazing. We bring our rescues, our personal dogs and refer any clients of ours to this vet. I can’t say enough good things about them. If you’re looking for an office that cares as much about your pets as you do this is the place!

Fantastic experience: We've used central vet for many years. But Wednesday night was a first for us. We had to put our family dog down. But they took great care of her and us.

Fantastic experience: My dog was a patient of Central his entire life (at least the 13 years I had him). He reached the point recently where he could not go on any longer. I brought him in and the staff could not have been anymore accommodating, compassionate, and professional. They made a very difficult time as easy as possible. Thank you

Fantastic experience: Had an emergency with our outdoor/feralish cat, and they took us immediately and got her fixed up. Even for off hours the charges were extremely reasonable compared to other emergency clinics. Staff is wonderful and our vet was possibly one of the friendliest people I’ve ever met. Even called a few days later just to see how she was feeling and if I had any concerns. Got the distinct impression this is not these people jobs but their passions. A+ all day

Fantastic experience: My dog was having some stomach issues and when I finally took her in, the team was so kind and made me feel comfortable. I was extremely paranoid and they answered every question and didn’t make me feel stupid or like I was being irrational. They even called to check in on my dog and it was overall a really good experience. So thankful for this place and the employees. Yall are truly wonderful!

Fantastic experience: What I thought was an Emergency visit for our beagle “Buddy” ended with us leaving feeling grateful that we were sent there. The girls at the front desk were very pleasant and so helpful and the veterinarian was very efficient, explained the situation and sent us home with what we needed to take care of Buddy. Since the visit I had to place a call requesting a refill on a medication and it was taken care of right away. I will continue to take our dogs to Central Veterinary Hospital for all of our veterinary needs

Fantastic experience: This is a special place filled with kind, good hearted, caring people. Our 10 yr old cat had to be put to sleep and they provided the best care possible. They were so sensitive and compassionate. I can’t express my gratitude for the staff and the way they took care of our sweet Paul.

Negative experience: I want to start off by saying that every pet that's been in my family has come here for decades. I use to consider this the best vet clinic in Knoxville. Use to. My dog's regular vet is absolutely amazing, but he wasn't available, so I tried to see someone else. I had taken my dog in for a regular bath (in which I do monthly), but after this visit, he started shedding and itching very badly. I tried to pet him and he recoiled, so I knew something was wrong. Upon inspection, I noticed sores on his back and immediately tried to contact the vet. They were in training, so I waited and after the 5th time calling, finally got someone. She told me to send in pictures (?), in which I did and never heard anything back. Tried to call back AGAIN, no one picked up the phone. So I took my dog in just to have them look at it to make sure it wasn't anything serious. I get there and was told that upon the advice of Dr. Beckner, I could pay to have him seen (I pay a LOT of money for their "Wellness Plan") or I'd have to come another day. My dog was having a reaction to whatever shampoo they're using and not only is the Wellness Plan useless, so was everything they told me to do. Dr. Beckner could have used compassion, but she chose not to, so I'm going to have to find another vet until my regular vet gets off vacation. Whatever training they were doing today, it obviously wasn't Customer Service.

Fantastic experience: We unfortunately had to bring our kitty here yesterday for our final goodbye. We couldn't of chosen a better vet to go to. Everyone involved was so kind, just beautiful humans. They let us stay with him, they explained everything in detail, they gave us all the time we needed with him, and they didn't try to charge us an ungodly amount of money for our pain. I cannot thank them enough for everything they did, and the kindness they showed. This was a really hard decision but they helped make it as painless as possible not only for our kitty, but for us as well. Thank you Central Vet, you'll never understand how thankful we are for you all!!!!

Negative experience: As a long-time customer with multiple patients, I am compelled to amend my once 5-star review for Dr. Martin to a one-star rating to warn others. Unfortunately, the quality of service at this office has drastically declined. Dr. Martin's presence in the office is notably scarce. During a recent visit, my cat, who was transferred from the ER due to a urinary blockage, was neglected for six hours in his crate. Shockingly, no catheter bag was attached, and no medications were administered. This resulted in a re-blockage and a three-week hospitalization back at the emergency vet. His ER vet confirmed that my cat was worse off upon re-arrival than when he left their care to go to Central. Additionally, upon requesting my pet's medical records at discharge, I discovered that they had been falsified, with (quote from his ER team) “impossible” numbers. This experience has left me feeling utterly betrayed. Had I not been able to afford the $7,300 to save my baby, Central Veterinary Hospital's negligence would have cost my cat his life.

Fantastic experience: I recently had to make the heart-wrenching decision to say goodbye to my beloved rabbit, Binky, and I cannot express enough gratitude for the exceptional care provided by Dr. Patterson and assistant Nikki at Central Veterinary Clinic. From the moment we walked in, their compassion and professionalism were evident, and they went above and beyond to ensure that both Binky and my family were as comfortable as possible. Dr. Patterson took the time to thoroughly explain all our options and the process of euthanasia, which was incredibly comforting during such a difficult time. Their respect for Binky's journey was evident in every interaction, and they treated us with kindness and empathy throughout the entire process. Not only did they provide exceptional medical care, but they also offered thoughtful gestures like urns and paw prints to honor Binky's memory. These small touches meant the world to us and made saying goodbye a little bit easier. I highly recommend Dr. Patterson, Nikki, and the entire team at Central Veterinary Clinic for their professionalism, compassion, and dedication to both pets and their owners. In our darkest moment, they provided a beacon of light, and for that, we are forever grateful. Thank you for your extraordinary care during our time of need.

Fantastic experience: I have been using Central Vet for over 20+ years now. Love them. Had to put my kitty cat down and the staff and Dr. De Villa did a wonderful job. All were caring and understanding as I was crying like a baby. And shifted their schedule to work me in. This is the only Vet's office I will go to.

Negative experience: Actually loved this vet! They help cure my parvo puppy. Back in October 2023 my little dog got attacked by a strange dog and had to have stitches and a tube put in her neck. Two weeks we go back to “get it removed”. January 2024 the dog got a lump on her neck and started draining stuff everywhere. We thought all the wounds were closed. We get her on antibiotics and its not working, we tried different ones. Draining then stopped for a while but the knot was still there. She recently started draining again so i was cleaning her neck, pushing some of the stuff out and something starts poking out and i look at it more and immediately knew it was the tube. The tube was left in my dogs neck for almost 6 months!

Fantastic experience: This review is well overdue. We have been going to Central Vet for 4-5 years now. We are so grateful to have found a place that cares for our fur babies. We highly recommend Dr. B! She has went above and beyond for our animals and she has the sweetest soul. From the bottom of our heart thank you to all the Central Vet Staff! Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough good things about this place. Dr. Keel and Dr. Holt are both really empathetic, sincere people who want the best for your pets. Rocco has been a patient for a little over 2 years now and was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma. They have been so supportive and I know when it’s time for him to cross the rainbow bridge, they will be so great with him.

Fantastic experience: I had to go here for an emergency appointment. My dog had a laceration on her head. The vet and staff were amazing and friendly. They made us feel very comfortable. She is now healed and I would highly recommend them. They are lower in cost and make sure your pet is well taken care of.

Fantastic experience: I’m always nervous taking my kitties to vets, but not anymore. I have been twice with 2 different cats and both times were wonderful. Everyone is so nice and gentle with the animals, i’ve never been so grateful. You really appreciate how people handle your pets and give them the same respect they give you. they explain everything well and don’t seem to hurry any conversation or questions.

Fantastic experience: My new pup's first visit last week was very quick and friendly. The doctors treated Kaya so well and were great on consulting me for a new addition's needs. Kaya was nervous at going to a new place but all these folks made her feel at home, even while getting her shots. Looking forward to continuing care for Kaya at Central!

Fantastic experience: The staff there are wonderful, very friendly, helpful, and professional. The pre-visit consultation I had over the phone was helpful and I especially appreciated them giving me an estimate of the price over the phone without me having to ask. It did take a little while to get seen but since it was potentially regarding parvo, I can understand the delay, and I can't say for sure if that should be expected of visits for other purposes. The veterinarian was especially awesome as she seemed very knowledgeable and clearly cares a lot about animals, so I don't think your animals could be in much better hands. The amount I was charged for the service seemed reasonable with all things considered. Afterwards they sent me an email summarizing the visit, which I also greatly appreciated. All in all, I will definitely be taking my animals back there if I am ever in need of an emergency vet again and I'd recommend anyone else to do so as well.

Fantastic experience: My cat is currently under their care after a trip to the ER last night. The Drs at the ER were unable to diagnose her after having her for hours in their care. I brought her over to Central first thing this morning to get her treated. The staff worked urgently, and they were all so kind and amazing in such a scary moment. I cannot remember the name of the doctor or vet techs that helped her, but I have never received such kindness and compassion in a vet clinic. My kitty is still there continuing her treatment, and I honestly don’t think there’s a safer place she could be right now. Thank you to everyone working there that’s trying their hardest to make sure my kitty can pull through.

Fantastic experience: The staff is polite and fast. They have you in and out. The vet does take the time needed to go over your concerns for your pet. I have taken my daughters cats there when they were sick. They were amazing with both of them. The follow up call from the vet a few days later just makes the whole thing that much better. Thank you for the great work your are doing with the fur babies in Knoxville and surrounding areas.

Fantastic experience: Even if my precious dog doesn’t make it through his ordeal, Dr. Truett and the staff here have taken excellent care of him and treated me with kindness and respect. They never gave up on finding a reason for his health issues, and they cared for him like he was their own. I will forever be grateful for all of you.

Negative experience: We had an emergency event with our Corgi. We did get in quickly at the Urgent Care location and felt that the situation was handled well. However, when we had the follow up call the next day, the person was VERY rude. Our dog had become paralyzed in a 24 hour time frame and they gave absolutely no support. They wanted to bill us and send us on our way -"to an MRI and surgery" - with no further information or guidance. I also called the next day to ask for advice on possible constipation treatments for this dog and I was told "all 3 doctors there said to take him somewhere else" These people are supposed to be veterinarians?? We had been clients there for 3 years. This clinic is extremely poor when having to handle more than routine situations. I'm so very disappointed in this care . I don't recommend this place at all.
