Fantastic experience: Absolutely incredible facility and staff. I LOVE the TNR program and have utilized it for community cats in our area. The staff is kind, welcoming, and understanding. I have emailed several times with follow-up questions and have received timely responses for an organization as busy as theirs (within 2-3 business days). They run an incredible amount of programs that help and educate owners. I am thankful Toledo has a facility like this.

Fantastic experience: I brought my cat Darla here to get spayed and microchipped. Had her here by 7:30 am and checked in. Then you just wait in your car for a text that is your turn to bring her in. Got a call that she did well and would be ready to be picked up at 4:00 instead of 5:00. The staff was very pleasant and knowledgeable about what was happening. Looks to be a very clean place and friendly environment. The price is very reasonable compared to my vets hospital.

Fantastic experience: The staff is friendly and they get through the line quickly. This is the third time my family has used them for neutering our pet, and each time has been courteous, professional, and timely.

Fantastic experience: Can not say enough good things about them. I had taken my cat to a pet urgent care where they told me she needed a emergency spaying. After calling several other animal hospitals, not only was Humane able to get her in the next day, they were by far and away the lowest price. Staff are very compassionate to you and your pet.Myself and Ghost can not recommend them highly enough.

Fantastic experience: You can only schedule online, and appointments fill up FAST. Once you get the appointment and go there, the line/wait for intake process can be long, so go early. Check the weather before you go, and dress accordingly, as you do have to stand in line in sometimes inclement weather while you wait your turn. Very nice people. Pick up is as easy as checking in with your phone, and being called into the building when it's your turn. It's a good system they have set up. Got Coco spayed, and all her shots for $130 total, compared to between $300 and $500 everywhere else I called. They were very thorough in explaining everything when I picked her up. Very pleased. Donated $. So grateful for this organization.

Negative experience: Have asked to have a cat fixed more than once on the "grant" for East Toledo have been told more than once they weren't doing my zip code in East Toledo....there is only one for the entire East side So how are they fixing cats on a grant for a specific side of town without accepting cats from that side of town? Sounds like someone got a grant and just wants to waste the money...

Fantastic experience: The staff is great! People often dump cats off in country areas. Every farm needs 100 cats, right? No! I would prefer people find a home for them so they don't become a coyote dinner; but if they are going to dump them, then the least I can do is feed them, try to keep them safe, attempt to catch & TNR them. Thanks to grants & donors, Humane Ohio makes it more affordable to help these cats. Thank you!

Positive experience: Dropped a kitty for neuter. Was first in line. Check in was easy and quick, drop off easy and quick.There is a lot of information to unpack though, before you drop off an animal. Make sure you take it all in.

Fantastic experience: I have taken all of my dogs and cats here. I highly recommend it. Great staff. Organized drop off and pick up process. If you can't afford your vet's prices they are affordable for those of us in need. Spring and Summer are busy, winter is a good time to get in.

Negative experience: I guess I just had rotten luck with Tom, the person I spoke with this afternoon. I told him I have a stray that has been coming around that I would like to find someone, or a team, to trap it, get it de-flea'd, so I can bring it inside my home while we wait for a vet appointment. Frankly, it did not sound like Tom cared one way or the other. He said they don't offer that service and I asked him if he knew of anyone or any groups that offered that and he basically said "no". So all of the reviews that say how Humane Ohio helped them with catching/trapping their animals are liars? Or does Tom need more training? I even told him I would pay for the service and if everything went smoothly I would have had no problem even donating to Humane Ohio... but in my opinion, based on todays interaction, they WANT donations and money but don't really want to help.... which seems to be the theme for a lot of places that claim they help/rescue animals. I hope I am wrong but now I doubt I will ever find out.

Our experience with them was streamlined & organized and our kitten got the care he needed with neutering, tattooed (that was a surprise but now he’s all thug ), ear mite treatment that we didn’t even know he needed & microchip. Many thanks to them for such great care!

Positive experience: I was able to get 5 Cats fixed with Community Appointments for $150. Their Indoor cat fee is $90 without an ear tip.

Fantastic experience: I had my little pup in to be neutered. The process was very smooth, recovery was good, and I would highly recommend Humane Ohio. I encourage anyone making an appointment to read carefully their policies because they have very specific instructions that if missed could seem like an inconvenience. These policies allow them to do what they do so it's necessary. I also had my other dog scheduled for a spay, but reached out after concern with her weight. They called me to discuss this and concluded that to postpone would be the course of wisdom. They care about my dog and her wellbeing. I will be making the appointment once my doggo has hit her goal weight. This place is professional and caring and I would highly recommend them to anyone needing low cost sterilization for their pets.

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough about Humane Ohio! They are an amazing group of caring people. Everyone was really friendly and the process is amazing. Efficient and organized and Bindi was totally loved on there. The tech said she had to make her rounds to the other techs to say goodbye to Bindi ❤️. They are very clear on post op, have a 24 hour hotline in case you need it. Bindi did extremely well and her spay incision is healing really fast. Thank you so much Humane Ohio! I highly recommend them. It is a little hard to get an appointment because they are booked six weeks out. but be patient. It’s worth it !

Fantastic experience: I recently got my boy neutered here. They offer a discount for ‘community cats’ which is very nice when taking in stray & feral cats! I did have to wait to take him in but it wasn’t long at all and once it was our turn the process was quick and easy. Picked my boy up the next day with absolutely no issues. It’s been about a week and a half now and he’s doing absolutely amazing, no problems whatsoever. Thank you for doing what you do!

They are very low cost compared to our normal vet office, for the procedure. They also offer nail trims, vaccines, microchips, and much more. We are very happy with our service and appreciate you guys!

Negative experience: Lol. Made a appointment for my cat a month ago. Last week I tried calling 15 times no one answered the phone. I had to get in my car a go there. They told me to be there at 7:00 to drop him off. I ended up sitting in my car for over a hour. So don't make a appointment it won't do you any good you will still have to wait. I canceled my appointment and asked for my money back that I pr payed and they told me that they don't do refunds. What a joke.

Negative experience: Cant get through on the phone. Can't schedule an appointment because there are never any appointments available for my animal type. I have tried every morning for 2 weeks to set an appointment at 7:30 when your appointments are supposedly open. But it's only ever for dogs. Just like everything and everywhere else dogs are more important than cats. Can't talk to anyone about it on the phone and I am not going to drive 30 minutes to talk to someone. I am not going to talk to someone through emails as they are often ignored or deleted. And sending someone who gives you a bad review a snappy response is unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: Our 2 year old pup suffered testicle torsion 2 weeks ago. We went to multiple vets and emergency vets to be told they couldn't get him in for another week, or the procedure would be $3000. I was running out of hope but then I messaged Humane Ohio over Facebook, and within a day I had our little man booked up for surgery. Humane Ohio got him in quickly and took care of him. He is recovering very well and back to his playful self! I couldnt be more grateful for Humane Ohio and everything they did for us. Little Fenrir thanks you as well!

Fantastic experience: I wish the prices were a little lower, but all in all a great place to have your pets or captured animals fixed. I did, however, not appreciate how one worker told me she can't make an appointment on the computer next to her and later on upon picking up my cat, a different lady scheduled me on that same computer for another pet to be fixed. Another time later.. getting real sick of their system here. Either hire more staff or just be 24/7 at this point. If you can't even schedule a cat to be fixed w.in a month, there's an issue. So.. take the blame for 50% of the overpopulation of animals, humane of ohio. Especially w. Your prices.

Fantastic experience: This place deserves more than 5 stars! Friendly, and caring staff. Excellent service. They have the whole regime from scheduling...to drop off...to pick up...down to a science. Everything runs like clockwork! And that's not the best part. The cost to have pets spayed or neutered is a fraction of what vet offices charge. That makes pet care affordable for everyone! I cannot thank you enough for taking care of Beans, and making him Bean-less. I highly recommend this place!!!

Fantastic experience: My wife and I have had multiple appointments with Humane Ohio. It is patently evident that the staff truly love the animals they care for as well as their community and their job. They are incredibly kind, accommodating, and personable. Humane Ohio is one of very few organizations that genuinely improves the quality of life of the furry friends living among us in our neighborhoods. Providing spay/neuters at such an affordable price, they deserve every single donation that they receive.

Fantastic experience: Very efficient. Probably not more then 15 minutes from arriving to leaving off the animal. This facility knows what they're doing. Picking up the next day was just as easy. Please get your pets spayed or neutered.

Negative experience: An employee was rude to me after being late to a scheduled spay and was very condescending and aloof in dialogue. I was turned away. Which would be fine not having been belitted by the heavy set blonde lady with glasses. You can't call these people. I had to work. I had no way of contacting them to tell them. Later on I proceeded to schedule via email as I had done before. Previously an employee named Tom helped me with email scheduling and he was fine. Upon emailing them after being turned away I notified the corresponder of the treatment I received. Get this: I was told by Lauren that everyone there was more than capable of handling customer service. I was told they had a right to refuse service to anyone that berates their employees. I walked in. I was berated. I was refused service, which would have been fine, if it hadn't come with a condescending attitude. Maybe the lady was unloved in life. Maybe she never had a leg up in life and that was her chance to make someone feel small. Between her and Lauren, the director, theu made it so much more than what it really was.

Negative experience: Blonde girl with glasses who works there was condescending and rude to us. Progressive looking woman with a round bangs haircut was present and no help when confronting rude blonde female employee. Not a helpful establishment

Negative experience: Was not able to get on web site was open at 12 got on then kick off. Would not reload.!!!!!! Poor way to run a business. Will not donate any more money like I have been in the past!

Fantastic experience: My rescue cat was supposed to be already neutered but his behavior and smell told me he was not. He was even vetted by my veterinarian and he also thought he was neutered. But I made him an appointment and you found that he was cryptorcid ( testicals never dropped) and successfully corrected that. He is a different cat! No more male cat behavior or smell or standoffish attitude He is now a playful charming companion. Thankyou so much!!!

Fantastic experience: I have 8 cats, I have brought 5 cats here so far, and have 2 more going in soon. I could not get the appointments to line up for my 2 new kittens who are boy and girl because they didn't have any spots left for females the day I made my boys appointment. So I called and spoke with the absolute nicest guy, Tom, who helped me get a date set up that worked for both kittens, and I just loved his attitude. The workers here are amazing, they call when they are concerned and make sure you know everything is ok, they are so kind and gentle, and you cannot beat the price. I'd say the only downside is the long lines, but hey, what are you gonna do. They rock at getting you in and out quickly, the only issues I've seen are caused by the pet parents who think they can do whatever they want. I will forever use this place for my pets, and I will continue telling everyone I know how awesome they are. Thank you Humane Ohio for taking such great care of my fur babies.

Positive experience: They were very good with my boy! Super friendly staff and very informative! My only complaint was when I brought him home I noticed poop that was impacted on his tail that was not there when I dropped him off. I understand that they are busy and do hundreds of dogs/cats a day but it would have been nice for them to sterilize and clean his tail after being neutered.

Fantastic experience: Humane Ohio is a great place to get your animal neutered or spayed. My dog was neutered on 5/22/24 and they texted with an update on Jax. It made me feel special. They let me know that he was out of surgery and resting.

Fantastic experience: This is what we need all over if you ask me I'm not from around here and unfortunately had a cat who had kittens under my porch in the winter. Long story short I applied and got a email the next day I needed help didn't have tons of money due to me having other animals. Had her in and out she's doing well and all kittens found a home. The place is soooo clean,everyone was sooo friendly. I definitely recommend no more kittens momma is doing well Thank you

Plus they offer a number of other services on the day of - such as nail trim, flea treatment, etc.. So bring extra money if you’d like to add on. Great service at about 1/3 of what a private vet may charge.

Positive experience: I appreciate the work they do there! But I have strays at my house that I've been trying to get spayed or neutered so they stop having these kittens over here. And they want you to make an appointment impossible to make an appointment with stray cats can't catch him and hang on to him for a month and then bring them in hopefully they can work something out or we can get them in a lot quicker. We don't need more strays around my house or anywhere for that fact.

Fantastic experience: I emailed them to get on their waitlist for my dog to get spayed. They luckily had a cancellation that same week so I took it. They got me right in, paperwork n payment process was quick n easy. I brought my pup home same day and she healed very well within the 7 days I was told. No problems. I also have an incoming appt for my other dog to get spayed in a couple weeks, hopefully I have the same experience the second time around. I would def recommend this place to anyone looking for a low cost vet to spay or neuter their animals. I paid around 200$ for spay, microchip distemper booster n rabies Can’t beat the price opposed to vet offices that charge minimum $500, JUST for the spay surgery

Fantastic experience: Absolutely about helping animals and those on a tight budget. I drove over 100 miles round trip. 5 stars on everything! Everyone is so kind and patient. I would never have been able to save a kitty from the streets, had it not been for their compassion! I have been Blessed

Positive experience: We need two places to do spay/neuter. One that does pet cats and one that does community cats. I'm not mentioning dogs since I only care for cats. I understand them putting emphasis on pet cats so that those with owners can be kept. People suggest things like not feeding or even killing community cats. If there was a dedicated facility to get them fixed at, we could get the population of these cats reduced. Despite how difficult it is for me to get appointments, they do have an efficient system set up.

Fantastic experience: Cheapest place to get your fur babies fixed. If you have an early appointment there is a long long line. Even if you have an appointment you still have to sign up and wait in line and then wait in your car until they call you. I completely understand why. But I was not informed or prepared for the wait and made me late for an appointment. They still took care of my baby so we'll. The folks we talked to were amazing and kind and informed. Our kitty is doing great in recovery with no issues at all.

Fantastic experience: I have gotten 6 animals fixed here over the years, both cats and dogs, and have never had any issues with spay or neutering surgeries. The staff is extremely caring and have always made me feel like I was leaving my animals in excellent care. They have always taken the time to explain any concerns or issues that needed brought to my attention. The prices are reasonable and there are many extra services you can have them do besides just spay or neutering. Fantastic experience: I took my little kitten in to get fixed and turns out she wasn’t able to be fixed due to I found out she has breast Imperial infection. I couldn’t figure out what was going on then saved my little kittens life. They put her on meds and with in this week she’s been so much better she’s gaining up all her weight and doesn’t look sick. I recommend them. There amazing and all the people there are very nice and sweet.

Fantastic experience: Very satisfied with humane Ohio. They got us in quickly and the spay procedure went great. Got my kitty home the next day and she healed up in about a week. At a low cost as well. It took about a month to get her in but they have so many clients it's totally understandable.

Fantastic experience: I’ve taken a couple of my cats there to be fixed and it’s always great! I recommend getting there 25 mins before you’re supposed to as there is a HUGE line right at 0730. They treated my babies amazingly and wouldn’t work on one as he had a heart murmur but recommended a great place to take him. Always friendly and attentive. Love it! I know it’s hard getting in, just keep trying!

Fantastic experience: A + very busy place making the world better by fixing cats :) ID ADVISE... If you are getting your animal fixed there be early. Seriously if you are last in line you will be waiting a good hour in your car to be texted to come up to the doors. Just be early and make sure to check in at the doors as soon as you get there . They don't come get you unless you sign your pet in. But I really like how they have this set up. Everyone checks in at door (without pet) and then you wait in your car with your cat until they text you to bring him/her in. Magnificent organization so there isn't a mad house waiting room inside. Could you imagine everyone inside with their pets all at once as they are all on edge being in a new place :( sigh no way haha. But yes they are perfect. A+

Well worth the wait that I had for having the procedure done. Both are healing up so well from it. Very glad we decided to book our appointment there. Price for the procedure was reasonable too. Fantastic experience: I have had all my animals fixed at humane ohio. Never any problems. Most recently I had my 8 mth old puppy spayed there on 8/14/2023. She had a tiny incision. She healed quickly and with no pain. Very grateful for their services. They are very reasonable. If it wasn't for humane ohio, there would be so many unfixed animals and unwanted puppies and kittens.
