Fantastic experience: Extremely positive experience all around! The folks answering the phone were wonderful, as were Dr Becker, Dr. Mayland who did Raven's surgery, Dr. Keller, and all the techs and staff who cared for Raven so beautifully.

Negative experience: First off this 24hr vet is not for the lower or middle class. Make sure if you take your dogs here you at least have 10,000 dollars in your account. Never have I been so disappointed with the service and cost of a place. Plus this place is very dirty and no one picks up dog feces on the area where you’re supposed to take your dogs. Now they preach to you about how to not let your dogs smell others dogs feces cause it’s full of bacteria, but they leave it all out there and no one cleans it up. Second of all we were in the waiting room and I was told not to put my dog down cause the floor wasn’t very clean. Third of all we were put into a room that had 3 drops of blood on the floor. We couldn’t put our dog on the table cause the doctor said she had to clean it off. Very disappointed in the way the doctors are and very disappointed in the way that if you love your dog and would do anything for him and they know that, they will squeeze every dime you have to your name out of you and then say you owe more! If you’re not rich don’t go to this place you’ll have to sell your car or take out a second mortgage in your house to get the care you need for your dog!!

Fantastic experience: Great staff, professional, attentive Honestly everyone that helped us. The front desk ladies, the vet, and the vet techs. Everyone was helpful, calm, attentive, and overall very professional. The attentiveness that was given to our puppy was awesome! The ambiance of the ER was also welcoming and gave us ease and comfort as we were waiting for our pup when getting seen. Would definitely go back!

Fantastic experience: I've gone to this emergency vet for both of my dogs, one Dutch Shepherd and one Belgian Malinois. They took the most excellent care of them. I have zero complaints and only positive experiences every time I've gone. Thank you! Everyone, from the receptionist to the surgeon. Maybe you can look up the records of my two dogs and see who's helped. They were all wonderful! Calm, kind, and professional. No judgement with my cautious Dutch Shepherd.

Fantastic experience: Top rate service, excellent veterinary care, compassionate staff and very organized during triage and treatment. Focused on my pets problem, did not suggest anything outrageous as far as diagnostics and arrived at a solution quickly. Wait times are not the fault of the ER and I felt their triage nurse in the waiting room helped to keep track of waiting patients and their needs. I would hands down recommend this ER for Colorado Springs.

Fantastic experience: I was here in a work trip from El Paso TX and brought my pet with me. She has kidney disease and i take her everywhere with me due to the medications she needs. Dr. Koonts was there when I brought her in at midnight when my kitty was very sick. We weren't hopeful that she would make it but the staff turned her health around and did a phenomenal job taking care of my baby so now I will be able to take her back home with me

Fantastic experience: I left my heart at this clinic. The staff took my dying cat gently from my arms and took her to the back without hesitation, without paperwork first. She and I (and my wife) were what was important to them in the moment. While our cat was getting critical care they had us fill out paperwork and then got us back in a room swiftly. I just emphasize this because I was imagining sitting in the waiting room juggling a clipboard and my dying cat. The doctor gave us the best information she could. She sat patiently with us as we painstakingly made ‘THE’ decision. But not before giving us time alone as well. Saying goodbye always rips us humans up, thankfully the staff truly cared and the clinic is set up for hard goodbyes. They have a small room set aside with a couch and gentle lighting where you can say your last goodbye. I’m writing this through tears but I had to give these folks their kudos. Thank you to the staff there that day. Thank you. Rest in Peace my sweet Arugula. ‍⬛

Negative experience: Looking for answers still on why my baby got treated for CHF when I clearly told them she had right sided changes and pulmonary hypertension which I told the dr I really think was related to a drug injury in Jan. My notes I requested from ER stated the owner said she had CHF which makes me so upset as I never said that… and she was getting completely incorrect care. She was very sick with pancreatitis which is why I brought in her on top of everything else and they just thought she had fluid on her lungs and loaded her full of Lasix :( 68.5mg of Lasix in my sweet 9lb dog over 21 hours! You would think you would reevaluate if it wasn’t working (it doesn’t work if it’s right sided and there are other things interstitial pattern could be on xray) When I would call they told me she was fine and doing good even … please be honest on your updates. Dr in am said she was fine dr in afternoon said there’s nothing we can do the am Dr talked to you right? They severely dehydrated her, hurt her kidneys. We rushed her to cardiologist who took her of Lasix and adjusted her meds and that did help. After the incident she was having passing out on pooping which I think the dehydration contributed :/ last night she passed out and stopped breathing. I feel like this experience hurt her so much and I get so angry with vets who do not listen cuz I try so hard to advocate for my girl and tell them the story and they just want to believe what they want say its the traditional CHF and can’t give her fluids even tho cardiologist said she could have had conservative fluids. I’m beyond devastated and keep replaying it in my head where I went wrong. I should have asked more questions on what they were giving her but you figure she’s in good hands :( I wrote to them asking them just to update her records so she wouldn’t be treated wrong again like she had left sided CHF when right side doesn’t respond to diuretics well and they never even cared to reply. This was my heart dog and my baby and my one and only chance to do what was right for her. I feel like this ER desperately failed her and I would think twice about taking your baby there. I even researched til I was blue in the face so I could advocate and know to protect her. I feel like I failed her too and now she is gone :( we spent THOUSANDS at this ER … think they could at least reply to my concerns on an email.

Fantastic experience: Great facility, friendly and knowledgeable staff, techs, and vets. The vet we worked with was nice and knowledgeable, and the people at the front desk were nice and helpful. They had to direct us to another facility in the end that had a nuerological specialist, but we would come here again for other issues.

Fantastic experience: I could not brag on this place enough. Every person I encountered seemed to have a healing presence and had a way of comforting both me and my pet just by being in the room. Fantastic experience: I brought my dog in thinking she had a UTI at the end of December. We’re from out of town and were staying a few hours away, so no local vets had any availability to get her in. I’m so glad we ended up here. What I assumed was a minor issue and easy fix turned out to be pyometra that required emergency surgery. Every person we interacted with from the lobby, to the exam room, and just coming in to see my dog while she recovered after surgery was absolutely incredible. Everyone was so kind, so empathetic, and I was kept updated every step of the way. Everything was explained to me in detail and with a level of gentleness and compassion that you don’t always see. There was no talk of the cost up front, just a clear desire to get Kayuh back up and running. In an emotional time it was so appreciated. I’m so thankful for the entire staff and couldn’t have asked for a better team of people during an incredibly stressful time for me, my dog, and my family. Because of them Kayuh is fully recovered and back to her normal self (minus some fur) and I will continue to sing praises all the way from Oklahoma

Fantastic experience: After our 13 year old goldendoodle had an unexpected stay of 5 days here for aspiration pneumonia, I cannot express how thankful our family is for this emergency vet. After a traumatizing diagnosis of a possible mass on our dogs lungs and our normal vet saying it may be intense surgery or the end.... they transferred us over here thinking the worst. When we arrived they welcomed us with open arms and got us back in a room as fast as they could despite being busy, because he was a more critical case. After running the tests they needed to double check the diagnosis, they said it was pneumonia and rhe specialist would see in rhe morning if he needed a CT scan. They started him on oxygen, gave him a nebulizer treatment and got him started on antibitoics. After a night's stay he started showing progress, but he needed time to recover with constant care. It was incredibly hard to leave our dog at the vet without us, but every single employee here was incredibly compassionate. Each one a true animal lover, you can tell by the way they talk to and treat every single sweet animal patient (and every human) they see. It was very comforting in a time you need it most. They took time to explain the confusing documents to every single patient. They updated us twice a day since things always seemed to be improving, but they never seemed to mind when I would call multiple times to check in on him. They even let us visit for about an hour each day he was there, we luckily came at their less busy times for visits. We never felt rushed to end the visit. They sent us home with an in depth treatment plan & always answered all questions we had. We truly hope we never have to return here again, but thankful to know he is in good hands if we do. Thank you for saving our old man.

Fantastic experience: The staff was very caring, compassionate and friendly but still very professional. Dr. Kociuba was very thorough and compassionate. And, a big plus in my book, the facility was very clean. Everyone was very patient with all my questions. I will recommend you to everyone that needs an emergency vet. Negative experience: Go anywhere but here if you care about your animals. My dog was bitten by a spider and was in very bad shape, took 4.5 hours to get seen and there idea of checking his vitals to figure out how soon he needed to be seen was checking his temperature only even though he was lethargic, shaking, foaming at the mouth, had no bladder control and vomiting. They then charges an insane amount of money to do a “thorough head to tail exam” to figure out what was going on. They took him back for this thorough exam and were back within 5 mins (sounds like they really tried to figure out what was wrong) only to say oh it’s probably just an allergic reaction or something. So they charged me $450 and sent us on our way after 5 hours of being there. His condition has worsened and now had blood in his urine, which doesn’t happen from allergic reactions. This plays prays on people with emergencies outside of normal hours by charging insane amounts of money just to barely check out the animal and send them on their way. I should’ve known when they did the full medical exam in less than 5 mins that they weren’t actually doing anything to help him

Fantastic experience: We were transferred from another ER for overnight ICU observation and care, they were very understanding and kind to our situation. Positive experience: Excellent Emergency facility near my home; compassionate and professional care. Sadly, it can get outrageously expensive, and I would suggest anyone to check their bills carefully, and ask all the questions ahead of authorizing procedures—but I am not sure how their prices compare to other 24/7 ER facilities (we don’t have many, and it’s not fair to compare their pricing to non ER facilities, obvs)

Negative experience: We brought our dog here for emergency care, and the experience was deeply disappointing and upsetting. Although we were initially roomed in about an hour, we then spent five hours in the back with our clearly emergent dog and had very little interaction with staff. When we did see anyone, we were repeatedly told, “we have a lot of emergencies tonight,” as if our dog’s condition did not warrant urgency. We heard this statement numerous times. Our dog passed away the following day. During the exam, staff focused almost entirely on his eyes and failed to recognize that his nose and ear were bleeding. Pain medication was not given until three hours after arrival. When the doctor finally came in, she again addressed only his eyes. When we asked about the bleeding, we were told to “call internal medicine,” despite the doctor acknowledging that internal medicine had a two-month wait. We were discharged with three eye creams and two pills. When we asked how to properly administer the eye medications, we were told to look it up on YouTube, which was shocking given the circumstances. Throughout the visit, we felt dismissed, like a nuisance, and as though no one cared that our dog was suffering. There was a complete lack of empathy, urgency, and accountability. The experience felt more transactional than medical. We later spoke with a manager who was more understanding and seemed genuinely concerned, but that does not undo what occurred. Our dog was our family. In a critical moment, this facility failed to provide the level of care, compassion, and professionalism expected from an emergency veterinary clinic. Based on our experience, we would not recommend this hospital—especially in an emergency.

Fantastic experience: For this particular emergency event we ended up visiting three different facilities over 3 days, one for diagnostics, another for emergency surgery, and this third for middle of the night follow up. We will not return to the others in the future. We received kind, competent, and urgent Care at midnight on a weekend when we thought our dog was dying after surgery. Kudos and deep thanks to the male Vet tech on at 23:30 Saturday 12/27/2025, and the female vet whom we saw, especially the vet tech seeing the urgency of our visit in the lobby and taking vitals immediately even before registering.

Fantastic experience: Friendly vet techs & they showed great care with Sol. It was really obvious that they all really love animals & are invested in their care. Fantastic experience: Everyone had incredible bedside manner, and were super patient while I was panick rambling through everything. It felt like I couldn't give enough data, and at the same time, was giving way too much. But they treated me with respect, kept everything calm, and helped me clean up after my boy made a mess. Fantastic experience: On December 21st, 2025, we lost our very precious Dumplin. She had been with us since she was a puppy, new to the world, and for 9 years and 1 month she filled our lives with joy, happiness, and unconditional love. In October 2025, Dumplin was diagnosed with an immune-related condition, and after 2½ months of suffering, she passed on December 21st. She is missed more than words can express. At 6:00 a.m. that morning, Dumplin lost a significant amount of blood. With tears in my eyes and barely able to speak, I rushed her to Animal ER Care @ VSC on North Nevada, behind Trader Joe’s, asking if they could help ease her pain and allow her to go peacefully. The team there showed us incredible compassion. They brought us into a room quickly and treated Dumplin—and our family—with kindness, dignity, and care. Despite the urgency and emotional distress we were experiencing, they did not take advantage of the situation. Instead, they offered understanding, guidance, and a reasonable cost, which helped ease an already overwhelming burden. I cannot thank them enough for their support during one of the hardest moments of our lives. They were truly a blessing to me and my family. Fantastic experience: My boi was a bad boi and ate half a bag of dog food! I rushed to the Springs from Cañon City at 2 am. I have never been so fast at the vet! I was given answers and solutions on ehat to do for my boi who was about to experience GDV in less than 40 minutes. They did ehat they needed to without any extra tests. Fantastic experience: I wish I could give an even higher rating! We came to Animal Care ER scared, heartbroken, and unsure how we were going to let our beloved Knight go—but our guy was ready. From the moment we walked through the door, the care and compassion we received were truly incredible. Every single person we encountered treated Knight like he mattered, like family. Positive experience: I’ve been to this ER with multiple different dogs. I did have 1 negative experience, where my lab and I sat in the hot car for 7 hours waiting to be seen. However, every time I would come in with my problem child, Sadie, we would always get very quick and loving care. Unfortunately, this ER was where she would have her final visit. Unplanned and not what I was expecting at all, however the team handled me (a basket case) and the most difficult decision I’ve ever had to make with so much patience and care and helped my baby cross over to the rainbow bridge peacefully.

Fantastic experience: There is no other place I would take my babies. The live and compassion is beyond and the cost calmed my soul. My baby Jerry 12 yr old Mallinois started bleeding severely this past Wednesday and they were there to take care of not only him but us also. Fantastic experience: My dog ran into a piece of metal while on vacation at our cabin and required 10 stitches in her snout on Thanksgiving morning. We could not have been more blessed to find Animal ER Care, LLC. From the moment we got there they took good, loving care of her and had us in and out in a matter of a couple hours. Fantastic experience: I thought the doctor was very thorough and explained the course of treatment well. Also, you allowed me to visit and give him his Mutian for his FIP which I liked. I don't remember the doctor's name, but she was fabulous. Very kind and listened to all of our concerns and treatment requests. She explained why she thought certain treatments were warranted and why she thought some of our requests were not. Fantastic experience: Been to this hospital several times and my experiences have been fantastic on all occasions. Staff is very kind and professional and the doctors are all amazing. Honestly everyone that I’ve interacted with was great. I always feel like my dogs are in good hands here.

Fantastic experience: Very nice employees, took the time to explain everything and didn't let us leave until they knew my pet was ok. Answered all my questions. Everyone was great,especially the man at the desk, he noticed the hives which I didn't and was patient with me when I was trying to check in. Fantastic experience: Last night my black lab Karl headed over the rainbow bridge and the staff were so incredible to my family in one of the hardest moments of our lives. Fantastic experience: I had to bring my sweet puppy in last week because she got a bone stuck around her jaw — one of those round filled bones, never buying anything like that for my pups again! I was a wreck when I came in early in the morning, but the team reassured me & kept me updated during the entire process. There was no surgery necessary. They were able to sedate her to relax & remove the bone from around her jaw & teeth without needing to saw anything off, thankfully!! My sweet Nebula was relaxed & calm the whole ride home & rest of the day. Even if she had some bruising on her jaw, she was eating normally & playing again by the following day, so her pain was minimal! Thank you all so much for caring for my sweet girl! Hopefully I don't have any more pet emergencies, but if I do, this is the place I trust with my babies

Fantastic experience: We were very impressed, first by my telephone conversation with Elizabeth before we even left home (Canon City) and then further impressed when we arrived at your facility. We will definitely recomment your place to others in need of emergency care. Shout outs to: *Elizabeth, whom we talked to on the phone. *The receptionist when we arrived (I didn't catch her name...maybe she was Elizabeth?? She was amazing....calm, understanding, knowledgeable, and put us at ease right away. It was a long 50 mile drive not knowing how Wyatt would be. *Dr. Kociuba who spoke with us after she was able to get Wyatt to vomit up my garden glove. She was caring, professional, calm and had genuine concern for our precious Wyatt. *Allyson, who was so kind and caring and answered my questions, and repeated things because my brain was working on adrenaline. *Everyone, THANK YOU! Negative experience: Horrifyingly, after being told we had a 2-3 hour wait, 5.5 hours later, we were told to leave and go to another ER place. The staff were either having an off night or in general do not like their jobs. They spoke to us in a dismissive and annoyed manner, even one staff named Jennifer saying while rolling her eyes, "I don't know why everyone decides that have to come at the same time on a Sunday"...as if all of us in the waiting room chose for our animals to be in a dire situation requiring us to spend a lot of money, while losing a weekend evening and night. Their blood machine went down after 4.5 hours of waiting, and we were told that it might be a little longer, after another hour, we were told to go to another location. We choose Animal ER Care because they had higher reviews than the Emergency Vet near us on the Southside. We were incredibly disappointed. We did not find our experience to match the reviews given thus far. We did not experience compassionate staff-they seemed almost annoyed at us for checking in continually about the wait...but the wait was literally double the amount we were initially told, with it also being the middle of the night. I think that the staff need to reevaluate their passion about their jobs, and get more training in empathy, communication, etc. Never going back.

Negative experience: My husband took our 10 week old puppy last night due to severe lethargy and fever. We do not trust the emergency vet in Pueblo and have always gone to this location with our other pups. He arrived at 9:30 PM and checked in, he was told that he was 3rd in line. After 7 1/2 hours, our puppy was never seen. He kept checking in and they would say 30 minutes. At one point he went in and could see them all in the back around a table eating. While we understand that there are emergencies and we would have to wait, the lack of care and communication is sad.

Fantastic experience: The staff here was phenomenal with our beloved kitty Seamus after he had eaten some plastic at home. Dr. Walsh was kind, attentive, and reassuring. The front office staff, and nurses were also very kind and efficient. They took our concerns seriously, and got him back to be seen almost immediately. While we were there we unfortunately saw some families that didn’t have the lucky outcome that we did, and we observed the staff being extremely kind, empathetic, and compassionate for them. You can tell they don’t just treat their patients and their families as #s, and that is important to me. God bless these wonderful people, they all have hearts of gold! What they do does not go unnoticed. We hope to never be back, but if god forbid we have another emergency this will be the first place we go.

Negative experience: Went in tonight with my dog because she was acting strange, and knowing my Aussie, I knew something was wrong. I walk in the door and talk to the girl at the desk, and a guy comes out, gesturing at us, and says What is this very rudely. He decides to check on my dog, but makes us go outside and says she is fine; we have real emergencies. After asking for it in writing, he started to backtrack, telling me Oh, we will get to you, we don’t know when. I asked him if he was new because he was frazzled and rude. He informed me that he is the night triage RN and has been an RN for 12 years. I am not belittling RVTs, but you should never misrepresent yourself. You are an RVT, not an RN. As someone who works in Emergency medicine, I don’t care how frazzled you are; you should never be rude to a patient or family. You should also not openly talk rudely about your customers in front of other customers; they may speak at the next Vet ER because your ER isn’t adequately staffed. My dog is okay now. She ingested a toxic substance, but was treated at another ER. Save time and energy by going to North Springs Veterinary Referral Center.

Negative experience: We came into this ER vet clinic at 7 pm. Our dog gashed his paw pad pretty severally and was bleeding badly. We actually brought him in and he was bleeding all over the floor and had to ask multiple times for gauze to stop the bleeding the front desk lady brought us a PEE PAD! One of the nurses did finally come and put a bandage on him. We finally got into a room about an hour later. We sat in a sterile tiny room for 3.5 more hours with our dog who was still actively bleeding from his paw. It had slowed down a bit but he was still bleeding. They continually told us that we were not a priority because there were several dogs that kept coming in with life threatening events. Ok, I understand that but it took them 3.5 hours and us constantly asking for an update on when our dog could but seen for them to finally tell us that basically they didn’t have the band width to get to our dog basically at all tonight. They said our dog should be good until the next morning and that the bleeding had stopped. We agreed to try again in the morning as long as they could put a fresh bandage on him for the over night. The second we got home we noticed he was actively bleeding through his bandage again. So now it’s 1:25 AM and we are having to take our dog to another emergency vet to get stitches in place. This place is clearly very under staffed and poorly managed. Would not recommend unless your animal is actively dying.

Negative experience: Sent our dog home with diarrhea all over his butt, and told us it was “leaking from subcutaneous fluids.” Failed to diagnose a parasitic infection. Glad we went to north springs vet referral center up the street. Amazing quality, fair prices and correctly diagnosed and treated our dog.

Fantastic experience: I brought my dog, Gloria, here last night for observation and care after her initial treatment at a nearby emergency facility. She suffered from cardiac arrest and received CPR earlier in the evening. The staff at Animal ER Care were incredible; from the moment we walked in the door to the moment I brought her home today. Negative experience: Brought my dog at 1am for possible trazadone overdose. Explained that her pupils were dilating, she was agitated and restless, body was shaking, she seemed very disoriented. Once at the vet, she was acting very skiddish, tail between her legs, not like herself. The woman that greeted me seemed annoyed that we even walked through the door. (I worked in ER and ICU for years, patient care is so crucial in heightened situations) The man I then spoke with, tattoos on his fingers, was condescending when I asked if it was possible that my dog could overdose on trazadone and he said it wasn’t possible. He explained this twice. He assessed her, told me she was fine and that there were 6 other dogs in front of me and there wasn’t much they could do for my dog anyways other than looking at more drugs to throw at her. He dismissed my concern that her pupils were erratically dilating and constricting and said he’s “never heard of pupils doing that before”, essentially brushing it off. In emergency situations, acknowledging, validating and showing an ounce of concern or curiosity should be protocol. It seemed apparent C they just wanted me out because they were short-staffed. Im so grateful I trusted my instincts because when I left I was able to speak with another vet tech who assured me that trazadone overdose is a very real thing and should be addressed immediately by an ER doc. Negative experience: We took our dog here for a cut and she got stitches. 10 days later we took her back to get the stitches out because they said it could be done then. She got her stitches out and was resting for the day. Later it was discovered that the wound had opened back up we called to see if they could put stitches back in and was informed that it was her fault for opening them back up and a full examination had been performed before taking them out. This was not the case she was taken straight back to get the stitches out without first being examined to determine if the stitches were ready to be taken out. Along with that she was not unattended and was not running around today in order to ensure she rested. Now we have to spend another large amount of money because they would not fix this mistake. We will not be returning to this place of business.

Fantastic experience: I thought the care given Sebastian at AERC was good. He was stabilized when we left on 9/11. However, by the time I got him to our regular vet, his ataxia was more pronounced. His lab work showed liver failure and Dr. Lay thought that he probably had dry FIP. He had also turned yellowish. It was clear that his condition had worsened. Dr. Lay thinks that the stress of his neuter a few weeks earlier may have triggered a corona virus mutation into the FIP version. compassion and professionalism

Negative experience: The only reason this clinic isn’t getting a single star is because the doctor was kind and a couple of the nurses showed compassion. Everything else about our experience was unacceptable, and frankly, unforgivable. I called ahead before driving an hour with my Great Dane, who I feared had bloat—a life-threatening emergency. When I arrived, I went in first because my dog was struggling to walk. The front desk woman asked why I was there. When I said “possible bloat,” she scoffed “Well, why?” in the most condescending tone. As I tried to explain, she cut me off with, “Just bring her in.” I told her my dog couldn’t walk. Her exact words: “Go out and try, and if you can’t, I’ll try to find somebody.” That was the level of “help” she thought appropriate while my dog was collapsing in pain. So my girlfriend and I carried our 110-pound dog into the building ourselves. She collapsed right there in the doorway. The receptionist sat and watched. She didn’t move. She didn’t call for help. She didn’t even look concerned. Strangers in the waiting room offered to help us before she did. Only after we dragged our dog across the threshold did six or seven staff finally come rushing out. Not once did this woman apologize. Not once did she show empathy or concern. She shoved paperwork at me like I was checking in for a dental cleaning, not saying goodbye to my best friend. Even after we made the devastating decision to put our dog down, she barely managed a flicker of forced sympathy. That kind of indifference has no place in veterinary medicine. If you cannot muster compassion for a dying animal and their grieving family, you have no business working the front desk of an emergency clinic. This was one of the most traumatic moments of my life, and she made it infinitely worse. I will never bring another animal here. I will drive out of my way to the Powers location instead, because no distance is too far to avoid this kind of heartless, negligent behavior. If you value compassion and dignity in your pet’s care, go anywhere else.

Negative experience: I don’t think anyone should have to go through what we went through on September 12 in the evening. We brought our dog to your facility due to excessive nosebleed to the point where her blood amount was at a 23 last weekend and a 17 on the 12th. After arriving to your facility, employees at the front desk showed no sympathy, empathy or even an ounce of customer service to those who were struggling with the potential death of their dog. They advised us it was gonna be a 2 to 3 hour wait. Our dog was spewing blood out of their nose, while the staff was complaining about patients that were there and it was so busy. There was another dog there with a broken limb and was expected to weigh a long period of time even though they were obviously in sign of distress. Since we received such terrific customer service, we immediately decided to go to a different emergency facility. we ended up going to the powers location, which they were able to get us in immediately due to the circumstances of our dog , ultimately received the news that our dogs blood was at 17 and would’ve potentially need a blood transfusion, however, due to not knowing the reason for the nose, and had been dealing for over a year at this point we ultimately had made decision to put our dog, pancake down. It’s unfortunate that I’ve never had a good experience at your facility and not only did this experience worsen how we felt that night but it shows that there’s people that works for your facility that should not be in the position that they are in.

Negative experience: Drove 2 hrs from rural Colorado in the middle of the night ( no emergency care here) My dog was very sick. When we got there, no one believed it was anything.. my pup is exurban. When she sees new people she can’t control her excitement. Even when she doesn’t feel well . Told us we couldn’t see a doc for hours and suggested I go back ( 2 hrs to Salida) and see a vet in morning where I lived. Turned out o be an obstruction in airway. Which is indeed an emergency. Why call yourselves an emergency vet) Only silver lining is that she didn’t die while I would have paid 2g at least for a visit. Front desk was kind. Clearly understaffed at night. Which is why people come to a 24 hr “emergency vet” stuff happens at night when their regular vet is unavailable. Especially where I live. Absolutely no e vet.

Negative experience: experience here can be hit or miss. I am very familiar with a few of the emergency animal operations in town over the last 27 yrs having multiple cats and dogs. I remember one very great experience with one dog but lately I have had to abandon my lengthy wait and go on to other ER’s a few times now. Want to recommend North Springs Veterinary Center. It’s worth the drive.

Fantastic experience: Thank you for taking great care of Charlie! The ladies who were working the night we came in were very sweet and quick to care for us. It was really seamless and a relief. Doctor Blake Wood took great care of Charlie and was honest and clear with us. Because they were so fast, our dog (who had ingested a large amount of psilocybin chocolate) vomited everything up before it could take effect and was good to go.

Fantastic experience: I am so thankful for the care that Sam received. I'm also very appreciative of how kind and calming the staff was - and that I got to visit him every day! I believe he received amazing care and if, heaven forbid, anything happens in the future Animal ER Care will be the first place I go. The ICU nurses that Sam had were WONDERFUL as well as the doctors. I appreciate them putting up with my semi frequent check in calls and visits! Fantastic experience: Every person I interacted with was genuinely kind, patient, caring and excellent communicators. They were understanding when I chose to not follow the overnight care and helped me to prepare for taking my dog home in a high risk situation . There was no negativity which I sincerely appreciated when going through difficult decisions regarding my pet. Both the assistant who took my pet from my arms and worked with the Doc, as well as the Doc, both were sincerely very good at their job and handled every decision I made graciously and thoroughly with positive, caring and understanding attitude. Fantastic experience: The Vetrenarians and the Vetrenarian technicians on duty while Meoquanee was in were amazing and so helpful. Along with Dr. Morgan from the surgical center they pulled off a miracle. I would really like to recognize Tiffany, she really made us feel like we were family. Tiffany and the front was amazing, and I don't really remember all the names, but the Vet Tecs were all amazing. The kindness and they way every one listened to our worries.

Fantastic experience: The vet tech at the front desk and Dr. Wood were fabulous. I think we arrived around 3:30 a.m. The vet tech and Dr. Wood were kind, patient and compassionate which is always so beneficial to pet owners who are in distress over their pet! Appreciate the guidance Dr. Wood gave us. We have used your services before with other pets and have always been pleased with the care. Thank you very much. Negative experience: Drove an hour from Pueblo to get my dog seen for possible bloat - the Pueblo Urgent Care diagnosed him and stated I needed to get him seen ASAP. Arrived at 8:30pm. They checked his vitals and said he was stable enough, they would be with us in order of severity with other patients. I get it, but it's after almost 2 hours of waiting (now after 10pm) until we get called into a room. Again, vitals checked, but no other tests run or checking in with us. Around 1130pm, after we had finished a whole movie, I asked how long it would be and we were supposedly the next ones to be seen. Ha! 1230am, still no one and no word. I ask again how long and their response is they took in two more emergent cases, so it could be more than an hour. After 5 hours?! You couldn't have ran a test? Pulled blood? Be productive SOMEHOW? Such a shame. They'll only see those critical and not others. No reason for me to be there for almost 5 hours, no answers, and I still have to go see my vet tomorrow, with an hour drive home at 1am. Will never again come back. Be weary if your dog seems stable to them...may have ended up being there all night - who knows. Waste of time, gas, and my patience. Definitely do not recommend.

Fantastic experience: The folks here were amazing, helpful, knowledgeable and knew what needed to be done. Not much more you could ask for from this type of service. Brought our dog in at 3 a.m. and upon looking at him in the back of the vehicle they had immediately been able to diagnose that he had gotten into mushrooms along with the symptoms he was showing. Immediately brought him in for treatment as the mushrooms were highly toxic. Over the next 20 hours they treated him and he was able to come home. I will say once he was home, he did have an episode trigger from the toxins and hallucinogen’s that were residual but when we called them, they were able to explain this and after a little bit of a rough night, he was able to get some good sleep and you could see the immediate improvement. We are about 35 days removed from the incident and he is doing great. Can’t thank this team enough for their amazing work.

Negative experience: I normally don’t write reviews, but I’ve just gone through the most traumatic 2 weeks because of this place. The only reason I give 1 star is because they very took good care of her while she was hospitalized. All of the staff was very friendly and sympathetic. My 5 yr old kitty (Tortellini) was misdiagnosed (and could’ve died from the treatment they suggested) and the only reason I know that is because I got a second opinion in Denver. When I showed up here on Friday, my cat was not eating or drinking for 24hrs, she has IBS (she’s already on a special diet for this) and chronic colds. They did an x-ray, to show there was a “stone” in her gallbladder, and liver enzymes were through the roof so they told me she’s probably obstructing. They said she would need her gallbladder removed, it would be extremely risky, and it would be around 10k. My heart dropped, who in the world can afford that. I already paid around 3.5k at this point. They hospitalized her and transferred her to the internal medicine unit to conduct an ultrasound and “determine if surgery is still the best course of action”. They told me the ultrasound showed a stone, inflammation and infection. They kept her another night because her liver levels increased. On Sunday, they did her blood again and her levels yet again increased. So they did a quick ultrasound because they were worried she was obstructing. no obstruction. They gave me a choice of taking her home since she was clinically doing well, or to keep her and get her ready for surgery. I decided to take her home and go to my primary. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, her jaundice worsened. She was still eating and drinking and being active though. So I call this place again on Wednesday and ask about the surgery for her and they insisted I bring her in asap so she could get surgery that day. When I asked for the quote, they said 8-12k but possibly more. I didn’t end up going that evening and I’m SO glad I didn’t. I ended up calling a specialist in Denver (surgery was 5-7k range there) and they were able to get me in for a surgery consult the next day. The Denver vet checked her out and was skeptical of the severity of her condition since she was still clinically doing so well. They ordered more tests and a FULL ultrasound. He was curious if she has triaditis. The results showed her liver levels finally dropped after 6 days (her antibiotics finally kicked in). Her ultrasound showed she indeed have triaditis (pancreatitis, inflammation of the gallbladder, bile duct, liver) and that pancreatitis was the main culprit causing everything else. AND SHE HAS NO GALLSTONES AT ALL ONLY SOME SEDEMENTATION. He said he would NOT operate on her as an emergency surgery because it would kill her. Her organs were too inflamed to operate. He said she could have the surgery in a few weeks when she’s back to normal but that the surgery is optional (and a lot cheaper). And that she will do well with medication management with an internal medicine specialist. Animal ER Care misdiagnosed my cat. And would’ve killed her if they operated - the surgery is rare, and extremely risky and always has complications. I’m glad I listened to my gut and took her somewhere else. This place only focused on her “stone” and basically told me the only way forward was surgery or to put her down. Why did they not check her pancreas? Why didn’t they do a full ultrasound for her? How did they MISS PANCREATITIS? They also seemed judgmental when I mentioned that the price they gave was ridiculous. I feel like my kitty wasn’t looked into enough. I am not taking her here anymore - I just can’t, not with this impression I have. I will gladly drive almost 2 hours to Denver then go here. My kitty has been doing absolutely amazing since she was seen in Denver 6 days ago. She is back to her normal self, healthy, spicy and all, and we are already going to her internal medicine doc to manage her diseases.

Negative experience: We brought our dog in after our vet told us that they could provide over night care and the necessary surgery. That being a pyometra surgery. We were then told that the in house bill would be almost 9 thousand dollars. Which was understandable because it was an ER. We then told them we couldn’t afford that and they said to take her home with us and the next morning take her to a spay and neuter clinic and they would do the surgery. There we learned the ER has found evidence of a possible splenic mass and Addison disease. The ER did not tell us anything about there finding and this resulted in, after many trips back and forth trying to find care. We were finally told that she wouldn’t make it through the procedure and it would be best to euthanize. All this place did was try and give us an outrage bill, while knowing that her chance of making out of the surgery were slim. If we would have paid the amount and had the surgery there we would be paying a bill of 12 thousand dollars plus anything extra. And still would have lost our dog!!

Fantastic experience: 24-hours ago I moved to Colorado from Michigan and needed to have my dog evaluated (possible ACL tear, G.I.concerns, etc.). I walked in to Animal ER Care on N. Nevada Ave. and was assisted by two of the most professional and compassionate people EVER! Tiffany W. and Varinna W. were not just exceptional to me and my dog, they were incredibly kind to everyone they interacted with (new clients, current clients, people on the phone). I watched this for over 2 hours in the waiting room and was astounded!! Every person, every interaction = compassionate and professional! Regular updates on time to be seen, clear estimates and discharge instructions, offered coffee/water/snacks, provided comfort stuffed animals and tissue to grieving kids. They were extraordinary! I could not have been more impressed or emotionally moved. Thank you Tiffany, Varinna and Dr. Becker for helping me and my beloved Raleigh today.
