VEG ER for Pets

Fantastic experience: On a night walk my dog bit what I thought was a poisonous toad at the time and immediately started foaming at the mouth. I called VEG ER And they gave me some instructions as I drove my dog to the emergency. Two thoughts ran through my head: Will my dog be OK and how much is it gonna cost me? I was greeted with empathy, care and concern at the ER and luckily it was just a regular toad and after the observations, my dog was fine. I had a fantastic experience at VEG ER and would recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Mineau was very communicative and available for all my questions throughout the process. Great bedside demeanor. Amanda, Sarah and Mineyis did not disappoint. Very compassionate and kind with my pup. VEG was highly recommended by multiple vets. I highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: I don’t normally write reviews, but I had to for this facility. On Sunday we had something very unfortunate happen to our kitty, we called veg to see if they had availablity because I had called and asked for advice once before and they were very helpful, they said absolutely we drove 25 mins and as soon as we got there they met as at the door and immediately started helping us, our kitty needed surgery and this whole experience was honestly amazing which is so helpful when going through something like this! The entire team was so attentive and caring. A few names I remember are Hailey R. the receptionist, Kevin, Hailey, Dr.Price, Dr Bashir, and Dr.Sullivan. They explained everything and made sure we were comfortable and I love the open concept, this experience was truly heart warming. I thank them for taking such good care of us and our peanut, I have been recommended them to everyone!

Fantastic experience: Our sweet Charlie ended up at the emergency vet with a bladder obstruction that required surgery. What started as straining to pee turned into a whirlwind of ER visits, anesthesia, and a major procedure to remove stones from his bladder. I don’t usually share personal stuff like this, but I’m making this post for one reason only. If you ever have an emergency with your pet, go to VEG ER for Pets. When we were trying to find a vet to perform the surgery, our VEG doctor sat there and personally called vet after vet to get someone to fit us in. And when we finally found the right place, she stayed on the phone with the surgeon and fully briefed him on Charlie’s condition so there was not a single gap in his care. They kept us informed, comforted, and confident that our boy was in the best hands. He made it through surgery like a champ and finally came home but after we got him settled, his temperature dropped and we had to rush him back to VEG. They immediately took him in, warmed him, ran an ultrasound to make sure nothing was wrong, monitored him until he was stable… and didn’t charge us a dime. Because of how long this whole process was, and having to go back again, we saw three different doctors at VEG, and every single one of them treated Charlie (and us) with the exact same level of urgency, compassion, and kindness. That consistency in care meant everything to us.

Fantastic experience: Everyone was extremely friendly and compassionate. Even though the office was extra busy that evening, from the time we arrived we felt cared for. All technicians and doctors were friendly and showed genuine care for the patients.

Fantastic experience: I am incredibly grateful to the entire VEG team for their exceptional work. I arrived with my 14-year-old Schnauzer during a seizure emergency, and the staff was incredibly diligent, respectful, and professional in stabilizing her. What sets VEG apart is the humanity they show; unlike other clinics where pets are treated like objects that you have to just “drop-off” and leave, I was encouraged to stay by her side as much as I could. Having a private room and being able to remain together during such a difficult time meant the world to us. Thank you for your amazing work, every pet owner deserves this level of care in an emergency.

Fantastic experience: Our dog ate a lot of chocolate during the weekend. We live at Mirada a we couldn’t find any body to help us. Fortunately we found Veg. They are open 24/7. They were very empathetic and reacted fast with our little dog and they didn’t make any nonsense questions Thank you Dr Ford, Melissa, Katie, Dani and Haley My dog is doing fine and happy

Fantastic experience: Actually had a phenomenal experience here with my cat who was limping. I love the open ER CONCEPT where you can watch what’s happening and stay with your pet the whole time. Special things to our team, Dr. Gibbs, Baylee, Dori, Katie, Shaylynn. I’ve never seen a vet sit on the floor next to an animal and just talk so calmly. I think that’s amazing! We would definitely come here again. It was walking. We were seen immediately. We had a private room. Everybody was exceptional thank you very much and it was affordable.

Fantastic experience: We took our dog Barley to VEG after a squirrel chasing incident and had an outstanding experience. Dr. Bradtmiller was attentive, caring, and truly great with him, and Katie, Kevin, Jackie, and Robin were all wonderful as well. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, the entire visit was refreshing, and honestly unexpected for an ER vet. Grateful for such a kind, professional team! He even got a ball to take home!

Fantastic experience: The team here is very kind and compassionate, and my daughter and I are deeply grateful for the kindness we experienced from this place. Our Zoe started having seizures, and so we had 3 visits here, including her last one on this earth. Each visit, we were met with urgency, dedication, and empathy. I don’t recall all the names of the kind people who helped us through this time, but Dr Moses, Dr Finney, Kalyn, and Christopher were a few of the many. Truly amazing people at this place. Thank you

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend VEG! Vet techs Kevin and Rachel were wonderful throughout the visit. You can tell that they really care for the pets that are brought in and were extremely communicative throughout the visit. Kevin even offered to trim Luna's nails while she was coming out of sedation which I appreciated. My vet, Dr. Bill, also did a tremendous job of explaining the whole process as well as going over imaging and blood tests that was easy to understand. The whole team at VEG was very kind from check-in to checkout and I will recommend them to allow of my fellow pet owner friends. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Amazing team. The staff instantly greets you with a calm and warm welcome, asking what's wrong and how they can help. You can tell by their attitude and actions that they care about helping you, and they do it out of love. I know I can rely on these people whenever my pets need the support.

Fantastic experience: Wow! I have never met a more caring and compassionate group of people! We brought our 10 year old cat into the ER because she was in extreme respiratory distress. They got us right in and started working on her. Huge plus - We were able to stay with our fur baby the entire time. We were included in every step of the process and had everything explained in detail. Not once did we feel like we were asking too many questions, our concerns were quickly addressed and not one staff member made us feel like we in the way. This place is incredible and the staff are amazing. They were very knowledgeable, skilled and transparent about services and costs. Thank you so much.

Fantastic experience: On February 11, 2026, I took an intact male community cat (orange tabby named Stripes) to VEG on north Dale Mabry in Tampa. The cat had a bleeding head wound from an infection that had progressed into an abscess near the left eye. I live in Hudson and had difficulty finding a vet in my area who would treat a homeless cat suffering from a potentially fatal wound without a protracted delay. I had never been to VEG before but got a positive reception on the phone, so off we went after a struggle in my garage to get Stripes secured in a carrier. I was greeted at the door by receptionists Dani and Katie, then immediately taken to a private room, where nurses Jackie and Fred as well as Dr. Sullivan, the vet, came in to hear my story and assess Stripes. Jackie, Fred, and Dr. Sullivan all listened attentively and showed compassion for Stripes as well as empathy for me. A treatment program was prescribed, which I approved. The estimate was reasonable, and I approved that, too. Once the sedative had taken effect, Stripes was carried to an operating table in an open area, where I was able to watch everything. Fred meticulously cleaned Stripes' head wound. Dr. Sullivan recommended a rabies shot as she felt the head wound had come from an animal bite. She also recommended neutering him, which I supported. The VEG environment and facilities are super clean. However, the a/c made me cold, so Jackie brought me a warm, plush blanket and a space heater. Dani or Katie made me hot organic peppermint tea. When it was time to leave, I paid the balance of the bill. I was not charged for neutering Stripes. It was clear that VEG staff wanted to work with me since Stripes is a community cat whom I was trying to help. Fred carried the sleeping kitty to my car, and off we went, back home to Hudson. I strongly recommend VEG in North Tampa for any animal that needs emergency medical treatment. The staff are professional and efficient but very caring and compassionate. The facilities and environment are clean, comfortable , and we'll maintained. The cost was reasonable for the quality and range of services. Overall, Stripes got the emergency treatment he needed, and I actually enjoyed my visit to VEG. Would return in a heartbeat. It's an A+, 5-star place.

Fantastic experience: Th VegER staff is amazing. They are kind, compassionate and understanding. Dr. Peters explained our dog, Cali, had a large mass on her liver and gave his opinions about how long she had and what we should do next, which turned out to be spot on. When we decided to let her go, Dr. Prise and Nurse Jamm were so incredibly kind. They explained the process and took great care of us and Cali in her last moments. We’ll be forever grateful for the care she received before she passed. I would recommend this place to anyone. It was the worst moment of our lives but the best veterinarian care we have ever had. Fantastic experience: I am so happy that VEG has moved his location in North Tampa even closer to my home. I have been there three or four times, most recently my dog Honey had a hematoma on her ear. She had one of these in the past on her opposite ear, so I knew some of the procedures involved in correcting it. My regular Vet could see her that morning but could not do surgery for a week. I did not want to wait that long and I went to VEG instead. It was so nice to have everything done in one visit instead of having to go back-and-forth. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, Dr Beshir was personable and thorough in explaining the options. The procedure was done quickly and smoothly right in front of me. I don't feel it was much more expensive than my regular Vet would have charged (it was just under $800, much less than that Blue Oyster place would have charged...), but it was worth the peace of mind to have it all done promptly. Thank you VEG!

Fantastic experience: We had to rush our boy Duke here last week at 9pm. I had come home from work and noticed something just "OFF" with him. Googled some of symptoms and it said take him to vet. Our previous experiences with ER vets have not been good. He is a pit and we have been judged by his breed. Most loving gentle boy on the planet. VEG rushed us in and immediately did an US. The Vet. (I absolutely cannot remember her name as I was kind of in shock). She let us know he had a mass on his spleen that was causing serious internal bleeding. She was very upfront with us regarding prognosis and outcome and helped us make the best and most humane decision for him. I appreciate her kindness and empathy as we made the decision to help him cross the bridge. We decided to do it there as she didnt think he would make it through the night. He was bleeding out and his blood pressure was extremely low. Everyone was amazing and kind.

Fantastic experience: First I called to see if they had FIP medicine for my cat.I was transferred to a doctor Peters. He was very kind and answered all my questions with honesty and kindness. I called 10 different vets/pet pharmacies to see if they had the medicine for my cat and they all said no.I drove from Lakeland to Tampa to get seen to be able to get this medicine. If it wasn’t for this vet I don’t believe my cat would be alive.The staff was amazing from start to finish. As soon as I walked in with my baby spike he was immediately placed on the table and 3 people came over to help him, one of them being Dr.Sullivan. She explained FIP more to us and she was able to answer all of our questions, comments, or concerns. I really appreciate all the staff they were all very kind. I would also like to shout out the guy with the bun. He wasn’t helping me at that time but watching him help the other people that were coming in and his customer service was amazing. Thank you all so much.

Fantastic experience: My 14 year old dog collapsed first thing this morning. With white gum and weakness. I put her in the car and ran straight to VEG. They got me right in, had Dr Peters and a tech with me in less than 5 minutes. A few test and an ultrasound and we had our basic answer. A large spleen tumor. We followed up with X-rays and confirmed the first assessment. Unfortunately at her age she is not a good candidate for surgery. And I will be loving on her for her last days at home. Being a specialist office it's not cheap, but not as pricy as the other specialist ER for pets. I would use them again. KW

Fantastic experience: Friday night my son and I had to make a difficult decision for our one and only princess Cupcake. I appreciated the kindness and compassion we received from the moment we walked in and until the moment we left. They allowed us to time to make our decision and then allowed us plenty of time to say goodbyes to our Cupcake. Thank you to everyone who cared for our girl with such care and compassion, I can't remember everyone's name as I was crying the entire time. If ever needed to use emergency care again I would go to VEG again. We miss our Cupcake dearly, as does her brother and dog brothers. The house is not the same without her squeaks and trills.

If you’re having an emergency, this is a good pick. - Dr Peters is fantastic - Kevin is a really great guy and was very helpful - Hailey was very sweet! All of them did a fantastic job, and we appreciate it!

Fantastic experience: As wonderful of an experience a pet parent can have in an ER when their baby needs help. From her superstar surgeon Dr Ford, her 3 ICU techs, her discharge doctor Dr Mancino, and every team member across all the shifts she was hospitalized through, my Arya was so fortunate to be under their care and expertise and receive their love. Their commitment to our comfort throughout our entire stay was priceless. VEG, without a doubt, is the gold standard of animal emergency hospitals.

Fantastic experience: VEG emergency ER vet was amazing. From the minute we came in the front door until the time we left we were treated with kindness and compassion. Dr. Beshir and the entire staff were awesome. Highly recommend!!!

Fantastic experience: Incredible staff that are caring and knowledgeable. I told friends n family the facility is better than some human Ers. Ill be forever grateful for them saving my Dog and the gracious way they treated not only him but myself as well. Thankyou from the bottom of my heart!

Fantastic experience: We went here yesterday with our gorgeous dog, unfortunately she didn't make it, but the entire team tried so hard to help her. The entire time we were there the doctors and nurses explained everything they were doing to help her pain and keep her stabilized. They made sure we understood what was going on and why everything they did was important. Unfortunately we did not get to bring our girl home, but the team was super caring and let us say our goodbyes, and even let our other dog say goodbye. As upset as we are to see her go, we're glad she went with such an amazing group surrounding her.

Fantastic experience: Terrific place to take your vet when an emergency comes. On the expensive side, but considering what a facility like that might cost, I suppose it has to be. That being said, they were really there for my boy and all the other pets who came in on a busy night.

Fantastic experience: We had to visit VEG yesterday for our dog Leia, and we had to make the toughest decision. All of the staff, from the front desk to the doctor, were super nice and compassionate. This is the second VEG location I've visited and will continue to choose VEG for any emergency visits. They are always willing to talk through the options and provide helpful feedback. Thank you all for your kind words and helping Leia move on gracefully.

Fantastic experience: Our 7 and 1/2 year old Boxer, Cornelia's Cool Breeze (aka Breeze) had thrown up all his lunch and collapsed on our lani with very labored breathing. My husband was holding him on the floor and we called our vet. Dr. Walker suggested taking him to VEG since they were already double booked and it wouldn't be until six p m that they would be able to see him. I took him to VEG. I was greated right away and they urgently started testing him. It was wonderful to be able to be with him while they were doing their testing. After getting the terrible news that he had water around his heart and was very sick, they discussed the options with us and we chose not to have him suffer more than he already had. This is one of the most difficult decisions we ever had to make. The entire staff was so supportive and caring. We had our own private room where we were able to love on him as long as we needed. Our big boy, Breeze, is now with Jesus and will be missed more than you can imagine. Thank you to everyone at VEG who took care of our fur baby for your compassion and care. RIP our beautiful boy, Breeze.

Positive experience: We brought our dog to this emergency vet for a severely swollen knot on her throat. During the visit, they applied a product to her neck before shaving the area, and it caused a severe burn on her skin. The staff said it was some type of lidocaine product. I'm not sure if my dog had an allergic reaction to it or if something else went wrong, but the experience was traumatic for all of us it took weeks for her to heal.

Fantastic experience: My neighbor and I brought in an injured stray cat for treatment. Dr Mancino treated her with such care and compassion. He ran many tests and determined unfortunately that her injuries were too severe, and so euthanized her that day. I was struck by how everyone at the clinic especially Dr Mancino were kind and caring. I would definitely recommend this clinic. They also treated her immediately when we walked in on Saturday, there was no waiting. I am so glad we brought her there. Other vets I called wouldn’t even pick up the phone.

Fantastic experience: I CANNOT RECOMMEND THEM ENOUGH! All of the staff, from the young girl who met us at the door (Nicki), to the vet tech (Holly) to the doctors (Megan) were the most compassionate individuals I have ever met. They immediately put my family and our pet at ease and we were able to be with him for every procedure. I had a VERY negative experience with two veterinarians in the Pasco Co area, so this was the care that I was hoping for. My only regret is that they don't offer non-emergency services. If you ever find yourself in an emergency situation with your furry friend and can make it to Tampa, do not hesitate

Fantastic experience: We took our pup to the emergency room this week, and it was a very scary experience as he was hypoglycemic. From the moment we arrived, he was taken care of immediately, and I was able to stay with him, which meant so much to us. The staff asked thoughtful questions and truly listened to my answers. Tests were run very quickly, and they identified what was happening almost right away. They clearly explained the care he needed and then provided it with such skill and compassion. Every single person we encountered was professional, kind, and genuinely caring. We were incredibly pleased with the care our pup received and are so grateful for this team during such a stressful time.

Fantastic experience: There was nothing you could have done better. Everything was great! The doctor and team were very thorough and worked with pet poison control to make the best care plan for Meeka. Everyone was great! Thank you Holly for holding Meeka and comforting her. That made me at ease, knowing she was able to be extra comfortable and loved while staying home the night.

Fantastic experience: These people are amazing. I took my dog here after a suspected snake bite and being turned away everywhere else since I didn't have any more money after spending it at two other vet offices. Their exact words to me were, " Bring your baby in and we will worry about finances later." They helped me when I was desperate and panicking. I was genuinely watching my dog die traumatically in front of me, and hearing their kindness and compassion after calling everyone else all day, and being met with complete apathy, made me cry. The facility is very nice, and every single person that works there is wonderful. Dr Mancino was very clear and kind in explaining everything happening to Lily. I can't say enough how much everything that they did means to us. I believe they are the reason she survived and is doing so well today. Thank you so very much VEG. I'll never go to another animal ER.

Fantastic experience: I couldn't be more grateful for VEG and their amazing staff! After my puppy received a kidney failure diagnosis, they immediately took care of her. They were incredibly communicative and cautious throughout the entire process. The entire staff is wonderful and very responsible when it comes to monitoring your pet. When my puppy was hospitalized, they allowed me to visit and pet her, taking all the necessary precautions for me and the other dogs in the emergency room. At 1:00 AM, I even saw the team spring into action—when another hospitalized dog’s levels dropped, three vets went running to check on him immediately. You can truly see that they love animals and are dedicated to ensuring they get the right treatment. They called me constantly with updates on her results, and their prices are actually very reasonable considering the top-notch care your puppy receives. They also offer multiple payment options, which is a lifesaver for those without pet insurance. I am so thankful to the team; thanks to them, my puppy is back home and getting better!

Fantastic experience: Beyond grateful for the team at VEG! Our 1 year old German Shepherd choked on a ball while playing. We literally ran him into the ER and into the capable hands of this team. They comforted us, treated our pup with expert efficiency while we stood at his side, and included us every step of the way.

Fantastic experience: I am so thankful I came here to get the help my puppy immediately needed. She ate a mushroom from our yard that made her comatose and me in a panic with terrible fear for the worse. They not only got my puppy better but back to her sweet puppy self while also making sure I was comfortable and taken care of. I hope nothing happens again where I’d have to go to an emergency vet but I am happy to know I have somewhere that I would go with confidence for my pet and myself moving forward. Although I wish I could shout everyone out that helped in her progress getting better I was not able to get everyone’s names because I was a mess with worry. I will start with a few though like Jamm, Alyssa, Dr. Main, Dr. Polcawich, Dr. Mancino and so many more. I wish I had taken notes because everyone was above and beyond and truly made a scary situation so much easier on this panicked scared heart of mine. I will let everyone I know for future reference about this place. Thank you again.

Fantastic experience: I took my dog here because she got into a dog fight That was pretty bad. The staff was really helpful. They even came out and helped me get her out of the car. The two main vets who worked on her had wonderful bedside manners And I even got to watch as they performed the sutures. I’m very happy I took her here I hope to never have to come back again But if I do ever have another emergency, this is going to be the place I go.

Fantastic experience: We are incredibly happy and grateful for all the care, kindness, and support we received during our baby’s treatment. The entire team was amazing! Incredibly honest, compassionate, and truly understanding of both our dog’s needs and our needs as dog parents. They took the time to explain everything, treated our pup with so much love& care, and made a stressful situation feel manageable. We felt supported & cared for through every step of the way and never rushed or dismissed. We can’t thank them enough and would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for exceptional care.

Fantastic experience: This was our first visit to VEG and we were very impressed with every aspect. We were greeted by friendly staff the moment we walked in the door. Dr. Peters was kind and thorough with us and our pup. We discussed his opinions and treatment options for the situation. Jon and Bri were incredible with our boy when he got labs taken. Not only would we take our furbaby back if necessary, we would recommend VEG to all y fellow pet-parents!

Fantastic experience: We had a great experience here. The team was incredibly helpful and took excellent care of our fur baby who was dehydrated and dealing with severe diarrhea. The staff worked efficiently as a team, and they made sure everyone felt comfortable and informed throughout the visit. We truly appreciated the kindness, professionalism, and care shown to our pet. Fantastic experience: Spending the day in the vet ER was not on our agenda, but when our two year old chiweenie began vomiting no stop we knew he had to be seen. Our vet was fully booked and referred us to an Urgent Care. Urgent Care was a less than positive experience by making us worried his condition was life threatening. Thankfully they admitted they could not treat him and referred us to a Vet ER. We asked about Blue Pearl but they recommended VEG ER, which I will go to anytime we have an emergency in the future, even though we have an Urgent Care Vet literally in the neighborhood. We were there most of the day (earlier for initial diagnostics and then we had to return later for follow-up x-rays.) The environment was so comforting and open. They were amazing not just with pets, but with people. I saw an older gentleman come in with his wife and their cat. He looked a bit frail and curled up on one of their loveseats while the wife and their team took care of their cat. A nurse walked over and gave him a blanket so he could be comfy since she knew they’d be there a while. Another family was having trouble due to a language barrier so the nurse quickly offered a translation service so they could communicate and understand the entire process. Another patient came in with her bird in a dire state and they were so calm and gentle with her and her little bird. It was nonstop busy with so many people and pets coming in but didn’t feel rushed or stressed. And there was literally no wait once we arrived- there were several doctors on duty so they see you right away. Everyone who walked in had their own little seating area where they took vitals and talked you through everything. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: We loved our doctor, Dr Mineau. I felt very calm with him taking care of our Bob. Knowledgeable and communicated well. Gabby was also great answering medication questions and taking good care of Bob, and us. The whole care team seems caring and friendly. Fantastic experience. I hope we won’t be back but if we have to be with our 3 dogs I feel good about the care we will receive

Fantastic experience: On one of the worst days of our lives, we called them while sitting with our beloved dog (Cooper)as he was dying. We were completely heartbroken. From the moment we arrived, they treated us with so much kindness, compassion, and respect. They made the euthanasia process incredibly peaceful and special, helping us say goodbye with love and dignity. We will never forget the care they showed us during such a painful moment. Thank you so much for everything you did that day. An amazing doctor and an amazing team.

Fantastic experience: I came in as an emergency because my puppy swallowed a sock, and I was impressed with how quickly and effectively the team handled everything from the moment we arrived. The care and attention we received made the situation much less stressful. I would 100% recommend this clinic and would definitely come back if needed. Special thanks to Dr. Brian he was not only very skilled but also incredibly kind and gentle.

Fantastic experience: We truly cannot put into words what this experience meant to us during such a moment of fear and vulnerability (dog struck by a vehicle). Dr. Alexis P was exceptional, and every member of the care team we encountered was compassionate, attentive, and deeply committed. Hannah and Nurse Haley provided outstanding care while our Mocha was on respiratory watch overnight, and their calm presence brought us immense reassurance during an incredibly stressful time. We are profoundly grateful for this newer location and for a team that works together with such professionalism, kindness, and efficiency. Watching them care not only for our dog, but for the many families and pets who came through those doors, reaffirmed just how special this team truly is.

Fantastic experience: One of our dogs attacked our other dog and it was pretty extreme and absolutely devastating. The VEG team was absolutely phenomenal. I cannot say enough about what the staff did, not only for our dog, but also for us. I couldn't have asked for anything better. They were so attentive and explained everything, every single step of the way. Every staff member was so warm and kind. Fantastic experience: My wife’s cat was acting like he was in pain so we took him a veterinarian that was recommended to us and they were telling us he had an obstruction in his urinary tract and needed surgery. She was skeptical about their diagnosis so she wanted a second opinion. And went to VEG ER and I’m glad we did . It ended up being he was emotionally agitated from having his litter box moved around the house because we had company over for Christmas. As soon as you walk in they take you and your pet right over to a table and start asking questions. No waiting no sitting in a room waiting for he answers. You’re right there with them all the time . I would highly recommend this place if you have an emergency with your pet and the prices are very reasonable for the service .

Fantastic experience: We had to put our elderly, ill cat to rest on New Year’s Eve. Because it was a holiday our regular vet wasn’t open and their urgent care was too busy to take us in, but they recommended VEG ER to us. We drove there, stressed out and unsure how the experience would be, and very worried about our cat. We were treated to the BEST CARE POSSIBLE! They were very busy, but took us straight away to a private, quiet room where we were able to say goodbye to our beloved boy with dignity – peacefully and without trauma or pain. We were given all the time we needed with our cat, they moved at our pace! Every staff member we encountered was extremely kind and compassionate and understanding. We felt so supported during one of the saddest days of our lives. Special thanks to Hayley and Kevin and Dr. Christine Ford for making our boy Theo’s final moments peaceful and with grace. Thank you so much VEG ER.

Fantastic experience: I brought my sweet Fifi to VEG yesterday and was blown away by the kind staff. The clinic is spotless and you can tell the staff genuinely care about each patient in the building. Although they do not see a lot of guinea pigs, they still knew exactly what to do to help my girl. Sadly we received some news about her that no owner likes to hear, however the VEG team prescribed her some meds to keep her comfortable. Thank you all for handling my girl with love. ❤️

From the phone call to the exam and discharge. They prescribed my girl some meds to keep her comfortable until her time comes. Fantastic experience: We rushed our cat here on Christmas Day and unfortunately had to say goodbye to her. I can’t express how grateful I am for the staff here. They treated our baby as if she was one of their own and their compassion made something so difficult just a little bit easier. Fantastic experience: Excellent care from check-in to check out. Staff went above and beyond. They are truly compassionate. Really made our Black Jake comfortable. Walked us through everything they were doing. Staff even tried to help us charge our dead battery. One staff member drove us home really nice people and seemed to know what they’re doing and love their jobs. Well I hope we do not need emergency services for Jake if we do, we will not hesitate to return.

Fantastic experience: I have a 10 week old puppy who was felling sick. The staff so was amazing. From the time I arrived someone was giving me step by step. I wish I could have gotten all their names. Hopefully I will not need them again, but if I do it was worth the drive. Fantastic experience: I just want to thank Dr. Price or spelled (Dr.Prise not sure) and her staff on Christmas Eve/Christmas morning. We had to take my best friend’s dog in who had cancer and unfortunately had to be put down but the staff was so amazing and compassionate. I’m really thankful they were all the ones that were scheduled that night, despite all of them having to work on a holiday; they all were willing to step up and help out through the entire process. Fantastic experience: The entire team was amazing in caring for Jimmy after he decided to have a chocolate feast. It was Christmas Eve and we were very concerned but they did everything to help us and luckily he’s okay!! This will for sure be a Christmas Eve story to remember! Thank you VEG ER!

Fantastic experience: I honestly can't remember the name of the doctor that helped save our dear Pibble. I really hope I got his name right when I chose the doctor because he was so amazing. He helped us so much in our time of need, especially on Christmas Eve. Our poor baby was too tiny to get an IV in and I got denied for every single help credit line because I'm on social security disability. I had brain surgery in 2019 and I lost almost all of my vision. My girls are the only thing that have saved me through this. And they love this puppy with all their hearts. I could not bare to put the poor baby down. The doctor came in and reassured me that she was doing better and that the best choice was to send her home with some pain meds that would help her brain injury and cross our fingers cross our hearts and just hope and pray she makes it through she has been such a rock star through all of this. She is showing she wants to live. She wants to thrive. I wouldn't have been able to see it without the doctor. And the doctor told me not to worry about the payment and I just couldn't help. It start crying. I was so worried about her and being able to do Christmas for my children. I already needed help from the school and from the churches to make sure my girls had a good Christmas. I'm on social security disability. I'm really blind and I can't even drive. My older brother helped me get her where she needs it to be to get the help she needed. I really hope that what they did help save her out on top of the medication they gave me. All wink it knew as hope and pray she lives through this. Every single staff member that helped Pibble live that day. I feel so bad. I can't remember everyone's names, but from the doctor to the nurses on the care team that worked on her as soon as she came in, everybody deserves the greatest compliment because they were so sweet not only to us but her and made her feel so comfortable. Our poor baby. But I would not trust them in anyone else's hands. But them ever get. They showed so much tremendous love and care for each and every patient, not just my poor baby. These people at this ER go above and beyond the call of duty. And they truly truly care about you and about the animals that they are helping. You are in in no safe right hands than with these beautiful, beautiful people

Fantastic experience: After a devastating day saying goodbye to our cat Obi there is something I continue to think about and that was how great our experience was at the V.E.G. in Tampa off North Dale Mabry. We unfortunately had to make the difficult decision to put him down due to kidney failure. He was such a sweet boy and we will miss him so much. The team there from Casey meeting us right away to triage us, then Dr. Kuzolitz seeing us soon after to them scanning him and then another doctor showed up to assist. It was all happening so quickly. I just can't say enough good things. Then the team around them, Jackie bringing us blankets and my heartbroken son hot chocolate. Robin and Rachel getting down on the floor with us, because that is where Obi was laying and most comfortable. Everytime they came in they knocked gently and closed the door quietly. Those may seemed like little things but those were details that we didnt know would be important to us. Such a sad day however the VEG team made sure that we felt cared for and loved on while we said goodbye to our sweet baby. I would recommend this place to anyone. I you dont need this anytime soon but if you do please consider them for a peaceful experience.

Fantastic experience: This was the best emergency vet i’ve been to. My baby came in and had a bowel obstruction and they handled it very well Dr. Ford was very reasonable with pricing and she did everything she could to not do surgery. She sat there for almost 3 hours with a scope to pull the pieces out and sure enough she did. All of the staff are super friendly and make your pets feel very comfortable and safe. Now he is recovering very good and he’s more comfortable now. Thank you guys for being so amazing!!! Knox says thank you too!

Fantastic experience: We had such a great experience at VEG. It’s clean and open. Everyone is super friendly. We were seen quickly and given options for treatment. They have snacks and drinks for you while you wait. The employees would come by just to greet my social dog. I hope we don’t need an ER again for my pet, but if we do, we are going to VEG.

Fantastic experience: I had an excellent experience with VEG Emergency Care when my dog, Napoleon, needed help. From the moment we arrived, the staff was truly caring, confident, and professional. Napoleon came out feeling wonderful, which meant everything to me. The prices were fair, and I was especially glad to see that they offer a donation fund to help people who may not have the financial means to care for their pet during an emergency. That level of compassion really sets them apart. I would strongly recommend this emergency facility to anyone who needs urgent care for their pet. Fantastic experience: I want to thank the team at VEG for their amazing support and care. On December 18th I called VEG to let them know my 1 year old cat has been having issues peeing, they gave me specific instructions to go to my primary veterinarian to get him checked out as it would be a lot cheaper. Around 4am I was woken up to my cat throwing up a lot and can tell he was in pain. I called VEG back and explained that I am a college student and I had barely any money to my name. They told me not to worry and just bring him in to get looked at because this is an emergency. When I arrived I was greeted very nicely by all of the staff. The doctor was super sweet and gentle with my Pumpkin. They explained to me that Pumpkin had a blockage of some sort but in order to do the procedure it would cost a lot of money. They tried their best to work with me and give me other options but unfortunately none of it was possible for me to do. The doctor also was very honest and explained that even if we paid thousands to undo the blockage he could have other damage and the issue can return again. We had to make the very hard decision of letting my fur baby go. The staff understood my financial situation and that I didn’t have a lot to work with. Knowing this they did the exam and the anesthesia for free. All I had to pay was the cremation. While I am very so very heartbroken, I want to express that the kindness from the staff and everyone in that building was beyond. They took care of my baby as if he was their own. He went very peacefully and they made the process so smooth for me. I truly truly recommend taking your pets here. They will be treated with nothing but love and care from these people. Thank you staff and from the bottom of my heart it means the world. I am so sorry I couldn’t express it better in the moment I was there but you are all truly wonderful!

Fantastic experience: Love love this place!! Fabulous Urgent care for pets. My dog needed an X-ray to see if she had swallowed the battery out of a remote she destroyed. My own vet was open but "too busy" to address what could have been a horrible situation. I found VEG with an online search. Wow! They have a great system allowing you to fill out paperwork on your way there and use text for your quote and permissions. They were super kind competent, and treated her immediately. They will be my go to place for any urgent care. Everyone there was wonderful!

Fantastic experience: Expert care, compassion, and humility. We were greeted immediately and received assistance for our dog right away. Unfortunately she needed more advanced care, so she was transferred to BluePearl where we had to make the impossible decision to put her to sleep. Thank you to the VEG team for caring for her overnight and helping us through this process.

Negative experience: BEWARE, PRICE GOUGERS. I’ve been through 10+ vets in the Tampa area, and this place is BY FAR the biggest price gougers I’ve ever seen. I know our pets are precious, but before you panic rush to the nearest vet, PLEASE take a few seconds to research these places. However, if you’re someone who’s able to throw down $3,000+ at a moments notice for a dog iv and 30 second physical examination, then be my guest.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Levi and all the nurses we interacted with were so compassionate and caring when we brought our dog, Bandit, in. I highly recommend this location (on North Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa). You won't find a better facility to help you with your fur baby emergency.

Fantastic experience: Everyone here is so very friendly and knowledgeable. Recommend 10/10. Hopefully I never need it again but if I do they are who I am going to. I drove from 2 counties away because I had to use them 2 years ago and they were wonderful. 2 years later they are still equally as wonderful. Thank you guys for all you do for our fur babies!! Fantastic experience: I definitely would recommend this Pet emergency hospital. The staff was very caring and supportive to Butch and also to me and my daughter. They knew Butch wasn’t ours but still handled us as owners who were losing a family pet. I think they knew we loved him due to all the crying we were doing as we talked about his condition and having to let go. As much as it pained us to decide on euthanizing him , it was the best thing to do. He was too far gone. The doctor was great. They did not try to get any money out of us with false hope, they were honest and compassionate. Every single staff member there was caring and thanked us for giving Butch love on his final days and taking him there instead of letting him die in the streets. They sent me an email with condolences and even support websites but grieving . Thank you all so much for your care. We miss you Butch, especially your cute sounds❤️️ RIP 11/28/2025 .

Fantastic experience: Everyone that I engaged with was absolutely amazing, thorough in explaining the care plan, empathetic and so loving to my little boy. Given our circumstances, everyone made us feel supported and confident that my little boy was going to be well taken care of. I would love to never have to return, but the care offered was top notch!

Negative experience: I’ve taken three dogs to this vet Bruce, Sammi, and Rocco and every single time they made it seem like my dogs were on the verge of dying. With Bruce, they told me his artery was cut and made me raise $6,000 for him. Something in my gut knew it didn’t make sense. If his artery had really been cut, he wouldn’t have survived long enough for me to bring him there. And sure enough… he was fine. With Sammi, we had just adopted her, and while someone was watching her, she ran off and got hit by a car. The person who hit her brought her to this vet. When I arrived, they told me her injury was bad, that she might not walk again, and I needed an X-ray to see if her hip was broken. Again, my gut spoke. I checked her myself, asked her to get up, and she walked even while drugged from the meds they gave her. She has been perfectly fine ever since, and we’ve had her since 2021. Then there’s Rocco, my youngest. I brought him in because something seemed off with his breathing. They told me his oxygen was low and that it was best to put him down. The good Lord told me no take him home. I told the lady I wanted to try something else. I asked for respiratory medication, took him home, bought a machine to suction his nose, and cared for him myself. He was 4 weeks old then. He is 15 weeks old now, healthy and thriving. All I’m going to say is: do your research and don’t blindly take their word for everything. The people there may be nice, but they do not act like they truly care about animals it feels like just a job to them. I’ve given them so much money, and at this point I feel like I know more than the “educated professionals.” It’s a shame. Maybe they don’t make enough money, so they resort to scamming people. It took me a long time to write this, but looking at my sweet Rocco reminded me why I needed to say it. Two stars cause the medication that was given was needed.

Fantastic experience: I brought my dog Sophie to VEG on Christmas Eve 2024 during what felt like the darkest moment of my life. She was struggling to breathe, and I was terrified. From the second we arrived, the VEG team acted with urgency, clarity, and genuine compassion. They whisked her to oxygen right away, kept me informed, and treated her with the gentleness you hope for. They diagnosed her with congestive heart failure — something I would never have known without their expertise — and their quick action is the reason she is still with me today. I want to give a heartfelt thank-you to the entire team whose empathy, calmness, and care made an unbearable situation a little easier to get through. Spending Christmas Eve and being discharged on Christmas Day wasn’t what I ever imagined, but because of them, I still have Sophie. I will be forever grateful for the life-saving care they provided and the comfort they gave both of us. VEG truly gave me more time with my girl, and I can’t thank them enough.❤️❤️❤️

Fantastic experience: Great experience, was greeted at the door and my sick kitty was seen immediately by the vet, within one minute we knew his temperature and I soon was given a choice of treatment plans. Fees were reasonable considering the excellent, immediate care kitty received on Thanksgiving weekend.

Fantastic experience: I recently visited VEG with my dog and initially had a small issue with her medication. The team addressed it immediately and made sure everything was corrected quickly and clearly. The facility itself is very clean and well-organized, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. The staff is extremely kind, helpful, and attentive, and the service is consistently prompt. I appreciated how quickly they moved while still making us feel cared for. Overall, a great experience—thank you, VEG, for taking such good care of my pup!

Fantastic experience: I truly wish I wasn’t writing this review, because we only came to VEG under a dire emergency. But I feel it’s needed because of our experience. The entire staff at VEG was so warm, so open, and extremely helpful. You’re welcome to be near your beloved during the whole process, welcome to pet and love as the event progresses. Our experience was the middle of the night and there were four of us there with our furry angel, and we were offered a private room. Our daughter used the room to catch some sleep and it was a nicely made up space, very comfortable and welcoming. Not only that but my husband was offered shoes (again dire emergency so he didn’t put on shoes on the way out the door), and I was offered a fresh shirt. Every doctor (there was an overnight stay) we had was kind and kept us updated on everything. Ultimately we lost our battle that next day, not by any lack of care mind you. The final moments were ours, we were not rushed, and the gentle approach of the staff was very appreciated. Per my husband’s request we left with mementos of our beloved and that was also handled with utmost care. Sorry to drop a bit of sadness into a review, but I felt like this needed said. Thank you VEG, and I hope to never need your services again. But if I do, I’ll be comforted knowing you’ll be there.

Fantastic experience: Probably the best vet team I have ever seen. Extremely accommodating and helpful with financing options. I’m a college student and have it tough when it comes to that sort of thing and they did everything they could to help, all the while doing the absolute best to help ensure my cat had the best of care. I can’t send enough praise to them for being so compassionate. Dr. Polcawich saved my baby Tito and made sure I felt comfortable in the process.

Fantastic experience: My boy Rocky started experiencing a medical emergency on 11/16, I called on my way there and I was met in the parking lot and they grabbed him from me to get him on a table and to start working on him. Numerous staff continued to check on me while I was standing there while Rocky's team was trying to stabilize him. Every single person there whether on Rocky's case or not was amazing and compassionate. I stood with my baby for over 7 hours and didn't leave his side and neither did his nurses! Unfortunately, Rocky was unable to recover from his injuries and I had to make the hardest decision of my life. But let me tell you, I felt supported, not pressured, I was educated and informed, I had every question answered and was never confused, on quite literally one of the most traumatic days of my life, everyone was like family. This place is the only place to trust with your pet! I'm beyond grateful for Fred and Sarah (LITERAL angels on this earth) and Dr. Davidson and Dr. Sharpe and honestly the entire VEG team. Thank you for everyone and everything they did for Rocky and Thank you for being there and helping on a very dark day for us.

Fantastic experience: The BEST place to take your pet, they are loving and compassionate with your precious baby, the staff was AMAZING. Took my sons rat and they gave us over the top care for our dying baby, very loving and caring service, hands down the best pet ET service ever. Hopefully I won’t have to go in again, but if I do, there’s no way question, it’s VEG. Can’t put a price on such care, they are worth every penny!

Fantastic experience: Thank you Dr. BISHOP. You helped me feel so safe and confident in my dogs healing. My baby apollo was treated so kindly. I do wish thay the nurses and office staff kept the conversations on the floor more professional. I was seeing dogs and cats in critical condition while some office staff is joki g and laughing with eachother and planning out of office events. Besides that great thorough service.

Fantastic experience: If you need an en Emergency Vet Hospital this is definitely the place to go. Brought my 2 1/2 yr old beagle pup ther who was vomiting and rectal bleeding. He was quickly taken in and started treatment for anaphylactic shock. All the Vet's and Vet Techs are amazing. He received beyond excellent care. Their knowledge and experience in animal care is the best. I so very much appreciated how they cared for Radar and saved his life. They are kind,compassionate and extremely caring and all the doctor's and Techs are calm and helpful to the owners informing us every step of the way. I would definitely recommnd them and would needed use them if my pets need emergency care. Thank you all of you.

Fantastic experience: The team here saved our puppy’s life! Our Goldador had a bowel obstruction and needed emergency surgery. Our regular vet office was unavailable (after hours) and after a quick call, VEG ER was able to care for Winnie immediately. Upon arrival, Dr. Mir met us directly at the front door to greet us, and the receptionists and nurses initiated her treatment for her right away. Not only did they take great care of Winnie, but every single member of the team was patient & kind, readily answering questions and going out of their way to make the experience as pleasant as possible for both pet and owners. It is very clear that all the doctors and staff here love their furry patients and are passionate about what they do. The open layout of the office where you can observe the team and treatment at all times provides amazing transparency and increases comfort and trust for the owners. All in all, we were absolutely blown away by the experience here and are appreciative of the amazing care we received! Thanks to Dr. Main & surgical team for the life-saving surgery, to Dr. Prise & Dr. Mir and nurses Hailey J., Daniel, and Minelys for for excellent pre-operative care and post-operative recovery management, and all other members of the staff (including techs/receptionists Nikki, Rachel, & Hailey R.) for going above and beyond each step of the way!!

Fantastic experience: We sadly had to put down our baby boy. Everyone made the experience easy and streamlined. Kevin went above and beyond with the help and explaining of the entire process. He walked us through everything and let us know that if we wanted to step out of the room at any point we can. After our cat was put to sleep Kevin came out to let us know and gave us a clay paw print. Everything came back to us in a little over a week. No one pushed us to do anything. They informed us of what we could do and laid out all the options. After we came back to pick up our cats remains Kevin came out again to let us know that we shouldn’t feel guilty and that our baby boy lived a great 17 years.
