Negative experience: They only care about farm animals not domestic pets

Fantastic experience: I just recently moved to the area from suburb of Chicago. I have a Yellow Lab and a Rottweiler that went for their first visit here today. After visiting 2 other vets in the area prior to today's visit at Lena vet I like this one the best and believe this is going to be my babies new vet. Very thorough and friendly and especially good with my two fur babies. It means ALOT to me who is taking care of my dogs. They are my WORLD. Thanks Lena vet for taking such good care of my two ❤️ babies. Will definitely be their new hometown doctors.

Fantastic experience: This place is a 5 star vet clinic. My gf and I drive from forreston and do not regret it! The vet is very knowledgeable and has done all of our work for our two kittens! We will continue to go here for any of our pet needs! (Very well priced)

Fantastic experience: After the passing of my previous cat, I knew I wanted to try out a new vet clinic. After adopting a new cat, Otter, with a bum leg I decided to try taking him to Lena for his first check up. They were patient with my questions and did a thorough check up where they discovered he needed a dental. I am so impressed with the debrief of his surgery, what to expect for aftercare, and just overall time they took to explain everything was something I can say the last clinic I used severely lacked. I am very grateful to this clinic and feel like I will always walk away from there feeling informed and that my pet was taken care of!

Fantastic experience: Our dog Scout took a sudden turn for the worse as he had terminal lung cancer. My wife and I were staying at the local KOA and went to Lena Vet as they were nearby. I arrived right as they opened and they did not hesitate to rush Scout in and provide end of life care for him. The whole team provided amazing care and compassion for Scout. We live in Freeport now and will use Lena Vet without hesitation for our other dog Charlie. Thank you Lena Vet for being there!

Fantastic experience: I had called at the last minute abou a small under nourished kitten that the mother cat was not caring for so I took it in. I could see the little one had a few issues that needed to be tended to. They were able to see her shortly after I called. I was given some meds and other instructions for her to keep an eye on. The Dr. was friendly and informative and was kind and gentle with his care for her tiny self. I can not thank them enough for the great care. Wonderful staff also.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful care! My dog suffered an injury that required sutures and they got her right in. Excellent care and very reasonably priced.

Negative experience: I explained to them that my fur baby had been treated by another vet for 2 weeks and despite xrays and blood test had lost half her body weight, was extremely weak, and was going to die if I didn't find the problem soon, but they refused to take her without payment at the time of service. Guess money outweighs life.

Fantastic experience: We were camping at the Lena KOA when our min pin decided to lunge at dogs walking by and wound up dislocating his leg in two places. It was after hours on a Friday night, Dr. Alec Frits and his awesome assistant took care of our dog within 2 hours - x-rays, anesthesia, set his leg, checked a 2nd round of x-rays, even trimmed his nails per our request as he was relaxed. We also expected to pay more than we did considering it was after hours. They offered their availability throughout the weekend as we were staying at the campground. We are extremely grateful and happy with their ad hoc service, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND Lena Vets.

Fantastic experience: The pet health care staff are top of the line in knowledge and caring for pets, truly as if they were their own. Our first experience was unfortunately to diagnose and then put down our 19-yr-old adopted cat, our second experience was to spay our newly adopted cat. I also love how they allow young students to observe, job shadowing a potential career interest, serving the communities in our northwest IL area.

Fantastic experience: Dr Fiedler was thorough and took really good care of my cat. He was super patient even with my cat (who is quite large) fighting him the entire time. My cat is now up and playing again like I haven’t seen from him since he was a kitten.

Fantastic experience: On a Sunday at 7AM Brandon was called out to my house because it was time for my good boy to go. Brandon showed up and I think my family was a little apprehensive because he was a young guy but he turned out to be amazing and compassionate through the whole process. Also the clinic themselves were great, everyplace in Freeport turned us down and directed us to Rockford while Lena was willing to come right to our house in Freeport. Thank you lena vet clinic.

Negative experience: Money money money That was all they wanted. Didn't care about our loss. The vet actually laughed at my wife on the phone. Showed zero compassion during the time. I know it was after hours but show compassion. Three phone calls and the first thing they were worried about was the MONEY. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO THIS BUSINESS.

Fantastic experience: Best most kind hearted small animal vet in the area. Even when specific vets are not on call they will still come in for emergencies if they are needed

Negative experience: The vet nor office staff did not follow up on a fax from other vet, nor did they make a phone call, instead cut my dog open 6 inches for exploratory surgery. They knew they were wrong, said that was something to learn from, never ever bring your dogs there. Nala has been through alot of pain and suffering and infections.You have yet to make it right. You should pay for her follow up care and medications.

Fantastic experience: Can't ask for a better vet clinic. Dr. Fiedler specializes in small animals. The entire staff is very knowledgeable, and compassionate. They can take care of all situations, medications, and have a nice store front with toys, pet food, etc. We lost our french bulldog to cancer this winter. Dr. Fiedler and the staff was very helpful and comforting through the whole process. Highly recommend for routine checkups to emergencies.

Fantastic experience: Gracie loves the preventative care at Lena Veterinary Clinic. Gracie will be 12 years old in February 2018 and she looks and feels GREAT. Also Thanks for the treats during our last visit, very tasty.

Negative experience: We've always had great service here but the last time we brought our dog in for treatment for a injury and got a different doctor who wrapped the paw too tight. He woke us at midnight crying and screaming, we cut some of the bandages off to allow better circulation and he seemed better. We ended up cutting off the rest the next day because the way his paw was bandaged he had to walk on the tip of his paw because he couldn't bend it.

Negative experience: This is a story about my recent experience with this veterinarian clinic, we got a pet pig, it needed a few shots so i call this place up since i want to do local business being that i am a Iraq war veteran, so i scheduled a visit to this clinic this morning, i had to cancel do to me having my own doctor visit, i call and cancel, later in the day i drive down (15 minute drive), walk in the door and say who i am and that im there to pick up medicine, im told that they dont know what i am talking about, the lady at the front desk went back to talk to the male doctor, he came out and started asking me question and acting like he really didnt want to help me but had to because it was his job, he was giving me attitude and being very rude, i felt like i was under Attack, all i wanted was to get the medicen for our pet pig and i felt like i was having to cross enemy lines to get what i needed, they claimed they didn't know what i needed even tho the have a computer (lack of communication on there part) finally i walked out so frustrated (and no medicine in hand) i would not recommend this veterinarian clinic to no one, dear Dr who was rude to me a marine veteran (if you dont like your job and dont want to help people and animals its time to retire) as for me i will do my business elsewhere, front desk lady was nice and lady on phone as i was driving away was also very nice, you guys need to work on communication and customer service skills

Fantastic experience: Lena Veterinary Clinic has the best staff in the area. They are very knowledgeable and will do everything possible to care for the animals in their charge. They did wonderful with our cat AJ after he was hit by a car several years ago.

Negative experience: I was new to the area and found Lena Veterinary Clinic. The small animal veterinarian was very rude and condescending to the women at the front desk. I should have left right then. He took me and my dog to a back room for a check up. He was not friendly at all, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt...maybe having a bad day? My dog, 30 lbs., was very scared and hid between my legs while we discussed flea, tick, and other medications. He asked me if she had fleas and I told him no. He asked me very sarcastically if she spent any time outside and I said yes. He told me she would have fleas. I told him she didn't because I knew what they looked like and I had dealt with them before. He then grabbed my dog by the back of the neck and threw her to the ground on her back and started to comb for fleas. She was absolutely terrified. There was not one kind, compassionate word from this man. I could tell he was very angry. He did not find any fleas...as I said. I selected a flea/tick medication and left. I couldn't get out of there fast enough and never went back. This man should RETIRE and get to anger management class! I go to Orangeville Clinic now and they are very kind, considerate, and caring both to me and my dog. Now my dog has to wear a muzzle because she is anxious and terrified when we go to the vet.

Fantastic experience: Raven is 11 yrs. old and has had great care @ Lena Veterinary Clinic since she was a pup. Her recent experience for some surgery to have two cysts removed were overwhelming for her as she is an anxious dog. However the care and gentle handling she received was wonderful. When I took her back to have stitches removed, she didn't hesitate to go into the clinic. Thank you Dr. Fiedler and also your great staff!

Fantastic experience: My lab has received exceptional care from Lena Veterinary Clinic. I feel they are very knowledgeable, skilled, and up-to-date with new medications and procedures. Even in an emergency, the vet was willing to meet me at the office and provide care even though the clinic was closed. I also feel their fees are reasonable.
