Experiencia fantástica: I'm happy taking my lil guy to PetVet - the waiting area is open, clean and well lit along with the individual examination rooms. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Experiencia negativa: Came to PetVet for a second opinion and Dr. Nagata herself was wonderful, but the front staff is something else. They created a follow up appointment for my dog without my permission and when I inquired about the day and time I was told that I would be emailed all the necessary information. I wasn't emailed, nor did I receive a clinical summary for my initial visit like I had asked for. I didn't receive an estimate for the recommended procedure either and when I called to ask about this appointment (which was again, scheduled without my approval) I was placed on an immediate hold. I waited for just under 10 minutes, then hung up and called back only to be met with attitude about being on hold and told I was gonna be placed on hold again because "they're busy". Guess what, I'm busy too! Funny how these guys can create appointments on days and times you never asked for, give you zero information about it and then send an endless amount of texts/calls the day before to confirm said appointment, but can't do basic tasks/communicate effectively. Save yourself the headache of this disorganized place and take your pet somewhere else. These people couldn't care less and clearly don't want or need the business.

Experiencia fantástica: Best Vet, friendliest staff, and a place that is actually properly staffed so you don't have to wait! I live in town but it's so well worth the drive. Each staff member is so friendly. My pup doesn't shake at all to go here. I think he actually likes vs the other two i took him to in town. 6 stars for sure

Experiencia negativa: Unfair business practices, have your quotes in writing prior to making the appointment, as I have experience bait and switch two times upon going here. I never even got the fecal exam results that I paid for and they would not refund. We came in for a dental cleaning promised it would be under $1000; after paying their exam fee the quote is $1850 for the same thing we discussed prior to coming here.
Experiencia fantástica: We have a new puppy and petvet has been awesome. They are great at making sure that I understand everything, answer questions very throughly and the billing system is simple and easy to understand. We have dropped off labs pick up medication and gotten vaccines and it has all been very easy. The staff is full of people who love animals and seem really happy to be there and just be helpful in general. Dr. Okazaki and her team are amazing and really emphasized maintaining a posture atmosphere for our puppy so that he would enjoy vet trips and not dread them. So far this has been a great experience for us (pets and people).

Experiencia fantástica: PetVet is amazing! The doctors take their time to speak with you prior to seeing my pup. It was my first time bringing my year old pup for her routine as her previous vet retired so we decided to give PetVet a chance, since we heard so many great things. The doctor called me to talk during their examination, to address any concern I had. It’s unfortunate the owners can’t go in due to Covid but they make every attempt to keep owners aware of what is going on. They took the time to really know my pup. They open 7 days a week, As a new patient, I also had to bring in my 14 yr old kidney failure dog which no longer could stand. Dr Anbe took the time to know her history before putting her down. I’m so thankful that PerVet allowed us in the room as my baby(dog) took her last breath. The staff put us in a private room and gave us space to grief. I’m so thankful ❤️

Experiencia negativa: I am extremely disappointed with the service at this veterinarian clinic, and I want to warn anyone who relies on them for accurate travel or medical guidance. I clearly explained that I would be traveling with my dog to North Carolina for two weeks and then returning home to Hawai‘i. Despite telling them my exact travel plans, the clinic failed to prepare me for the return requirements and did not offer any help or guidance afterward. Because of their inadequate and incompetent service, my dog is now quarantined for a minimum of 31 days—something that could have been completely prevented if they had provided the correct information. Their mistake has cost me $1,594, and they have shown no apology or accountability for the situation. To make it even worse, my family now has restricted visitation days and times just to see our own dog. A simple explanation—such as Hawai‘i’s requirement for a microchip and two rabies vaccinations for re-entry—would have prevented all of this, yet they failed to mention it. If they are this negligent and heartless about their own mistakes, I can only urge others to use extreme caution trusting them with anything. Their lack of attention, poor communication, and refusal to take responsibility shows a complete disregard for both animals and the people who depend on them. My experience has been stressful, expensive, and entirely avoidable.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Yoshioka is the best vet I've ever had for Koa. She not only cares about my baby, but she takes time to listen to me, too, and hear out my frustrations and help me find solutions for my dog that will also allow me to heal my own injuries. She's patient and kind, she explains things so well and makes sure she gives the right amount of time to each patient. I never feel rushed or kicked out, and she always helps to find the most cost effective solution as well. I also appreciate that she does acupuncture services because it has worked so well for my boy (who was paralyzed before coming to Dr. Yoshioka), and she literally gave him back so much quality of life in his final years. Thank you for all that you do, Dr. Yoshioka! I appreciate you!

Experiencia negativa: A friend of mine brought her dog to this clinic, but unfortunately the dog didn’t make it. The staff were aware that the situation was urgent but, because they were closing, they referred her to a 24-hour vet instead of providing care. By the time she arrived, the 24-hour vet said it was too late and nothing could be done. I understand closing times, but in true emergencies, immediate care can make all the difference. In my opinion, vets who truly care for their patients would make an exception, especially when time is critical.

Dr. Michael King is WONDERFUL - so professional, knowledgeable and warm. He put me at ease immediately and I was confident my newly-found charge was getting the best treatment available. Experiencia fantástica: This was Hanohano’s vet since he was 4 months old. Then a year ago we moved to kapolei and thought it would be more convenient to find a vet in that area. Needless to say, that was a bad idea. Couldn’t find a vet that took care of Hanohano and “us” like PetVet does. Convenience doesn’t always equate to quality & friendly service! Lesson learned!!

Experiencia negativa: 0 stars!!!!! I took my dog to Pet Vet because she had a hard time breathing, wasn't eating or pooping, and had some mucous in her eye. Dr. Inge "examined" her and said she needed bloodwork and eye stain. She said my dog had an ulcer in her eye and was having a hard time breathing due to the pain. She showed me a copy of the bloodwork and said nothing was concerning, that some of the levels may be off due to pain. Anyway she sent us home with antibiotics, pain meds, and eye ointment. I was under the impression it was a minor issue and it would resolve. She said to schedule thrbnext appt in 5 days. She said to call if my dog doesn't eat in a couple of days we could hook up to iv or something, and we can discuss. Two days later, I called the office to say she wasn't eating and was concerned. The person I spoke to said they were booked for the day with only 1 doctor. And Dr. Inge wouldn't be in until the next day at 11 am. And when she was in maybe she could call me between patients. I asked if there was emergency appointments, he said no. I asked if the current doctor could take a look at the records and give me a quick call to see if maybe iv would be good. He said no, he can't bother the current doctor due to being booked. I asked if he could look into the records from the visit and see if Dr. Inge wrote some kind of plan with iv since we spoke about it. He had no clue and they have a policy that they can't contact doctors who are off. I clarified, even if it is an urgent call to clarify treatment? He said no, they can't. He said he could send the records to an urgent care as long as it's before closing. I asked what if I can't find a place b4 that? He said I would have to wait until 8 am the next day. A lot of places have 2-3 hr wait just to check in. I had to take my dog to a new vet with no records of the visit with Dr. Inge until they sent it over until much later. The vet at the clinic took one look at my dog and the bloodwork she got by Dr. Inge and said there was something more. They did a scan to find that her lungs were full of fluid and that put pressure on her heart. My poor baby passed away a few mins later. I called Dr. Inge to follow up with her diagnosis and at first she tried to make excuses for why she said it was just an ulcer. I asked her if the bloodwork looked alarming and she said well yes but SHE wanted to focus on the ulcer first and downplayed the results. She admits she could have offered a scan but didn't. At first she said her lungs sounded fine then she later admitted that she couldn't hear well due to the heavy breathing. I asked her why she didn't tell me that she couldn't hear well, and if she was breathing that hard, shouldn't u do a scan to rule it out? Not just tell me that the panting was for pain and everything is fine. I asked about the plan for iv after 2 days and she said that she doesn't always write detailed plans. I asked why she didn't tell me that if she needed an iv there would be a problem getting an appointment especially since she wouldn't be in and there would be only 1 doctor there. She said she didn't think about that and admits she should have scheduled my dog to come back after 2 days to be sure she was improving. She kept saying she based her decisions "on my experience..." then apologized much later with an excuse that she had only 2 years of experience. At the end of our conversation she said to let her know if I need anything else to let her know. What else do I need from someone whose negligence led to the death of my furbaby. I put my trust in this place, in her hands. In conclusion the 2 problems I experienced - incompetent doctor and lack of customer service in an emergency. Please trust your precious baby with another doctor. Dr. Inge chose to focus on the ulcer in her eye and chose not to follow through with any concerns regarding the severity of the blood work or her struggle to breathe. The customer service is terrible, they aren't caring in emergency situations AND I had to go back because they charged me for something extra.
Experiencia positiva: Everyone is super nice and understanding. I canxelked twice because I could not get to my cat. Yes, she was under the bed. At her 3rd appointment, I gave iin and called the mister. After 20 mjns he got her. He went back to work and I left to go to Salt Lake. Early, I was but no one was sitting in. They called me in aboutc10 minsxearlier than my appointment time. I love that place.

The facilities get the job done, but honestly the fact that my dog (who hates the vet) isn't afraid to come here for repeat visits is enough for me. A+ Update: 3 years of consistently great service and no complaints. They completed my dog's rabies and health cert to fly off island today. I hope I am as lucky on the other side as I was here finding PetVet.

Experiencia negativa: Have overcharged me every time regardless of knowing I am Military. Also have requested I pay for a full additional wellness check for med checks which should not be priced at full wellness check. If you want to get ripped off go here!
Experiencia fantástica: Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Dr. Ednee Yoshioka took the time to go everything and answer my questions and make recommendations. I like how I am able to schedule an appointment online. I wanted a quote for a wellness check-up and treatments, prior to going in. So I emailed, and they responded promptly with my requested quote. When I went in, there was no surprise costs and I actually ended up spending just a little less then expected, which is always great!

Experiencia negativa: Little to no knowledge of health certificates. I do not have a Hawaii address and am traveling to mainland US and they would not issue a health certificate as requested from the airline to ensure the dog could fly. Dog is 2.5 years of age fully vaccinated and up-to-date. Waste of time with the procedure they have in place with on line forms and apps... spoke directly with their staff who ensured me at the time of the inquiry that this would not be a problem. Now scrambling to find a vet appointment for this.

Experiencia negativa: Charges well above the national average for medication, charges $25 for a copy of a prescription, refuses to email, fax, or call in prescriptions. If you don’t use their pharmacy do not expect assistance in any manner. In short, just go somewhere else.
Experiencia negativa: I was a loyal customer for over 4 years. Now I wish I never gave them a penny of my money. We are moving off of Hawaii which required a health certificate. We were having an emergency with the flights which resulted in us changing airlines. We spoke in great depth about how it would cost $35 per dog to change the certificate. We verified multiple times that we could come in the next day as our dogs would be flying out the next day. When we called to make the changes they informed us that that the specific vet we used would not be in until Saturday so now had to pay for an entire new appointment. So now we paid $500 for the first appointment and another $400 for the second. We verified MULTIPLE times that it would only be $35 and the dr would be able to change it the next day. It’s sad to see a vet take advantage of a family especially in an emergency. RIPPING OFF FAMILIES IS A HORRIBLE PRACTICE

Prices are not outrageous unlike a lot of other clinics on island and they are extremely kind and patient with you and your pet. Experiencia negativa: I have taken my cat in 2x for weight loss and they act like it’s nothing. I pay for the blood work and exam but I’m the one who has to bug them for results. They recommend an ultrasound but it’s $450 and only available every two weeks to be done. They’re a hospital that doesn’t even have equipment readily available for emergencies.
Experiencia negativa: I've been taking my dogs to PetVet for over 3 years. After what happened this pass Monday, Nov 18th, I'm not sure if I will continue. Took my dog to get her annual wellness checkup. She was all happy to come to the vet, after her vaccine, she was not the same. Took her home and she collapsed. Brought her back to vet and they had to put an IV on her because she wasn't looking too good. We had to rush her to VCA emergency because PetVet wasn't equipped for this type of emergency. Vet talked to us and said my dog might have had a allergic reaction to the vaccine She never had before. After speaking with the vet. She said, wait for the charges for the IV and whatever they did. Here I'm worried about what happened to my dog after seeing her and that's the last thing I want to hear. My dog was at VCA for a whole week. Vet called everyday on my dog's condition. As pet owners, you know how much you love them. Apparently, if the Vet who saw my dog and gave her the vaccine really cared, she would have followed up and called to see how's she doing. Well, no calls from the vet to see how my dog is doing. What does that say?? Just be cautious on which vet you see.
Experiencia fantástica: I had to put my best friend to sleep a couple of days ago. My twelve year old Shepherd's hip dysplasia had progressed to the point to where he could barely walk. Upon a quality of life consultation, I felt that the best course of action was Euthanasia. I was a complete wreck during the whole chain of events but the staff there was extremely professional and understanding. I will remember for the rest of my life the compassion that all the Vet Techs and Dr. Vallarelli showed my puppy boy and me. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Experiencia fantástica: We love this clinic After we moved we struggled a bit with finding the right vet who could help our cats. They’ve been struggling after the change, two have been fighting and one has been isolating. Our first visit we met with a vet who suggested environment changes and setting up spaces for each cat so they could feel more comfortable. She gave us a print out as well with suggestions and tips on how to deescalate cat fights and it even had a list of suggested toys and trees! This helped a lot, we got a wheel for our Manx who has a lot of energy and she stopped fighting our male cat, the cat trees also helped our other female to have spaces and spots near my husband while he’s home who she absolutely adores. The only one who still wasn’t settling was our male. Our second visit was to talk about our male cat specifically. We were concerned that something was happening that we couldn’t see. Pain, anxiety, or some other factor as he was pacing the house, meowing constantly, and completely inconsolable. The vet was completely on track with us, she suggested a blood panel to check for an underlying condition as well as a pain killer since he is older and is high risk for arthritic pain. We are waiting for an appointment to get the blood panel done since he needs to be sedated for it (he’s spicy but we love him), but we are very pleased with our experience so far Update: the painkillers helped our boy so much and he became so much happier and cuddlier after this pain was managed. We unfortunately had to say goodbye to him in September when he had a urinary blockage. It was an extremely hard time for me, he had been my companion for 10 years and played a huge part in my life and in the lives of others who knew him. This hospital did an amazing job being compassionate and kind during the whole process. They handled everything delicately and professionally while also being willing to work with and communicate with us on every aspect. I cannot emphasize how much this hospital has solidified a spot in our family’s heart. Thank you guys for all you do

Experiencia negativa: I want to like this place, I just can’t. They completely missed giving 1 of our dogs vaccines for 3 years. They did a whole surgery and removed her eye and still missed her vaccines. I got an aggressive call trying to blame me for the issue. After it was “sorted out” and all of her vaccines were received we thought she was good and turns out she’s missing another vaccine. (Let’s hope this is it) It is so upsetting because that’s why I take my dogs in. I don’t know what they need. I really hope they haven’t done this to other pet owners.

Experiencia negativa: I spent years with PetVet and had various of my dogs go there and throughout the years I missed two appointments. The second one I had contacted them to make an appointment a worker told me to do it myself on their website. I had accidentally scheduled for a wrong date and got marked with two missed appointments which would’t had happened had the worker done their job. I was told by the third one that I would no longer be able to make an appointment and get charged $140 for an emergency visit each time. I understand that it is causing the vet to loose a potential appointment but for the policy to have a lifetime ban of an appointment is such a flawed model. Instead of charging you at the next appointment for having to re-schedule you’ll get banned from making appointments. After years with them I’m so disappointed that this is how they treat loyal patients. Not only is their treatment of patients poor but it also took a significant amount of painkillers and x-rays for them to diagnose my dog with cancer(keep in mind my dog had seen multiple vets in the clinic). I’ve also gotten charged $50+ for bandage changes I did not ask for and they did not ask me permission to do either. If you want surprise charges and poor treatment for your loyalty then this is the place for you!
Experiencia fantástica: The entire staff is fantastic! They are time-efficient, caring, and reassuring. Dr. Tarr has solved every issue my pets have ever had within an hour. My first experience with her was great. I have a senior cat who has an eye issue. With all my pets she explained what she wanted to do- why- and how much it cost. In addition to asking for my feedback, she reassured me that we could solve the problem and was the absolute sweetest to all my pets. I would never “book” a specific doctor (they’re all awesome) but, she goes above and beyond. I have had nothing but positive experiences with everyone here, and their pricing is fantastic. Their scheduling process is great. Either calling or online is simple. I usually don’t post reviews, but after our visit today, I had to share my honest review!!

Experiencia negativa: We had been going to PetVet from the first day we got our first dog at 8 weeks and who is now 5 years old. Last year, I brought her into PetVet for a swelling eye and they charged us over $200 to tell us absolutely nothing and the vet treated me like I was being crazy for worrying. PetVet has also made huge policy changes and tripled in price over the last few years. The first 3 years, almost all the staff members were the same and we were really happy with them. Now the staff is constantly changing and their new policies are harsh and made to increase their profits and money grab every chance possible rather than caring for their furry patients on top of raising prices astronomically. It costs us over $1k last year to do their annual exam on our 2 healthy dogs and whatever vaccinations were due at 3 and 4 years old. We just switched to VCA this year and are saving so much money and don’t feel like the policies are meant to get as much money from you as possible. It costed us less than half as much this year at the VCA and we did blood work and a urine biopsy this time too. I highly recommend avoiding PetVet if you can.

Experiencia positiva: Great experience. Although I left without knowing how much Benadryl I was supposed to give my dog but the front desk told me they will call me shortly to let me know how much to give. I never received a call within two hours so I called to find out. I was then put on hold for 18 minutes before hanging up and calling back. I was almost told too hold again but I interrupted the receptionist before being put on hold again by telling her I've already been forgotten about on hold for 18 minutes which is totally unacceptable. I should have never had to wait that long. I should have been helped after the receptionist finished what she was doing. Also, there was 4 receptionist that day so no excuse for this!

Experiencia fantástica: PetVet was able to accommodate us as an emergency when our dog diagnosed with cancer suddenly deteriorated and our regular Vet was unavailable. All the staff were very empathetic and professional. We were quickly moved to a private room and given all the time we needed. The Veterinarian, Dr. Tarr, consulted with us despite being on her lunch break. She was very knowledgeable about the type of cancer our dog had. She addressed all our questions and concerns, advising on both the biological aspects as well as our dog’s quality of life and our feelings. We really appreciated the reassurance. PetVet made the best of the worst situation. When we retrieved his remains and paw print, the staff was genuine and kind. He had the best send off we could’ve hoped for. Thank you PetVet.

Military discount always (they even just looked at my address as on base and knew to confirm and apply discount!). Drs all are wonderful there, some more engaging and friendly than others. Dr Yasuda my personal favorite! All the techs are friendly and warm and inviting. Will always try to get you in an appointment as early as they can; sometimes phone hold times and appointment wait times especially for walk ins are long. But they do update you and let you still wait in your car if you want to still. They have DX Hills food available esp for I/D diet for GI issue animals. Clean, bright, friendly environment. Always get my health certificates there to travel. Make sure to buy your airline tickets first, then fill out their online form and they’ll call to set up a Heath certificate appointment. Extremely amazing. Nary a bad experience (only once I was extremely sick and did a walk in and waited for a very very long time on a busy holiday weekend, but my fault, I was sick and grumpy; sorry guys!!). I cannot say enough good things about Pet Vet. They’ve helped me scan lost doggos I’ve found in my neighborhood, they have extremely good hours (just wish they were a 24/7 emergency vet, for middle of the night emergencies; I have to drive to Kailua for those midnight emergencies:(. They do FAVN titers, monthly preventatives, diet consults, literally everything. They take care of every baby as if it’s their own. Love love love. Thank you Pet Vet always!!!!

Experiencia negativa: I am a human doctor. Our dog needed to be put down. He was a truly loved member of the family. These "caring" vets initially lied, saying me and my kids could be in there. When we arrived, they said they would only allow ONE of us in. After arguing, they then only allowed 1 teenager to come in and the other WASN'T! She was crying, walking around outside! And a troll at the front desk tried to refuse my poor baby who developed a sudden, aggressive tumor blocking his airway, quickly suffocating him if we "weren't happy about it". Maybe instead of worrying about money, they could care about their patients. Experiencia fantástica: This is THE MOST efficient vet I’ve ever been to. They allow you to wait in the car for the whole duration of the appointment. It was super convenient for me bc I had my 9 month old with me. The staff picks up, drops off, and complete payment all in your car. The doctor calls you after examining and asks for approval of treatment. I was able to get my dog an appointment on the same day. The staff was nice and Dr. Pearson was extremely caring and helpful. She helped me save money. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Experiencia negativa: Have used Pet Vet many times in the past but this past time it felt as if they’re just greedy for money. I needed a new updated health certificate because the airline I was planning to ship my dog denied her. I was still on the 10 day time frame and I wish when I left the first day I went for the health certificate that they would of mentioned “an additional fee may apply if it’s not the same veterinarian”, to not pay for the fee all over again it has to be with the same veterinarian. It just does not make sense as to why my dog needed to get re-checked when the health certificate is allowed for up to 10 days!! Then when I booked the appointment they quoted me a different quote than when I left the vet a second time. It was more than I was quoted!! Just seemed the fee kept going higher and higher until I was finally out of there. Doesn’t make sense but I’m glad I won’t be needed a health certificate from them in the future.

Experiencia negativa: I went in for an emergency, my cat ingested toilet bowl cleaner. They quoted me 260 just to be seen plus 210 for labs plus whatever else they were gonna charge me... all they had to do was give my cat activated charcoal to stop the effects. Maybe some iv liquids. Unfortunately I couldn't afford so I left home to watch my kitten die. I watched so many videos and read so many reddit posts. I landed on a few suggestions for educational purposes they stated to give the kitten tuna in oil to (allegedly) help neutralize what happened, also give milk (allegedly, for educational purposes) to neutralize what happened. It cost 10 dollars to save cats life (allegedly) I have since bought activated charcoal (for educational purposes) more tuna in oil (for my own consumption, allegedly) and tend to keep small bottle of milk for emergencies. for educational purposes people should too, allegedly.

Experiencia negativa: My Pom Princess suffered from cancer and told me it was time for her to cross into the next life. I took her called PetVet Honolulu and made arrangements to bring her in for a quality of life assessment. Princess was breathing rapidly and in distress. I made the difficult and loving decision to help her cross over into the next pain free life. Dr. Janny TARR was the attending vet. It was a very emotional time for me realizing that this day had come. Dr TARR came in and with two syringes. She asked me if I was familiar with euthanasia which in retrospect now seemed unusual. She described the medication would put her to sleep and stop her heart ending her life. The other syringe was a saline flush. I asked her if in essence that would kill my Princess and she said yes. I asked her if she was going to put her to sleep first and she told me that they usually only do that to dogs that are restless and not necessary for Princess. I asked her if she could put Princess to sleep with the other medication before she gives her the lethal dose. She said she would and came back with what she said was the sleep medicine. I asked if we can wait a minute before she give the lethal dose as I wanted to make sure Princess was asleep and passed pain free. She said we cant wait to long because the sleep medicine doesn’t last long. I told her to do what she does. Thinking about this angers me as I promised to help Princess pass as pain free. Princess passed April 19, 2024 If I hadn’t spoken up to Princess, Dr TARR would have just given my baby Princess the lethal dose. I image Princess labored breathing and her heart stopping with her wide awake experiencing the fear that would run through her mind before passing. This is to me unacceptable and inhumane to my Princess. My trust in Dr. TARR is diminished and she will never service any of my pets again. I am hoping the medicine did put Princess to sleep first. It’s seems that she did but my trust in her to do the right thing is gone. I don’t know why Dr TARR wouldn’t put my baby to sleep first. I think she.thought I was familiar with the humane euthanasia process but she is sadly mistaken. Dr TARR actions is by no means reflects the service from the other PetVet Honolulu doctors or office staff who have treated Princess and her daughter Tessa P. There service and care to my babies and me have been exemplary. This only reflect poorly on Dr TARR solely. I am greatly disappointed in her. I owe it to Princess to share this review so people who go through this are aware of the procedure and make sure their babies are treated respectfully and humanely.
Experiencia fantástica: We love Pet Vet. Nalu was very cooperative to the staff because the staff is welcoming and understanding of his reactivity. They worked well with Nalu and mom to get him to be as comfortable as possible without adding any more stress to him.
Experiencia fantástica: Very grateful for all the staff and doctors here. They really do care for your pet and ensure the best quality of care. I originally had to bring my dog here for an emergency as they were the only ones who cared enough to treat my dog urgently. Since then, I bring my dog Haupia here for his regular appointments. The staff is always very helpful.

Experiencia fantástica: Friendly, attentive, compassionate & competent staff. Very clean facility. Walk-ins are welcome, but I would recommend scheduling an appointment before-hand if possible (especially for routine, non-emergency visits) because they do charge a bit extra for walk-ins. Appointments can be made via the PetDesk app - you can also rack up points on purchases that can be used for your next visit/purchase. Great location, lots of parking.

Experiencia fantástica: The office was very clean and organized, especially considering how busy they were. The staff were all very nice and helpful. Our dog is very anxious, but the vet tech was so comforting to him. Our visit was just brief and I felt that the office visit charge was a reasonable price.

Experiencia negativa: This office did not effectively communicate with each other, their doctor, or us as the owners. Their lack of communication is detailed as: They did not communicate our concerns with the doctor nor did they inform the doctor of the video we sent that showed the behavior we were concerned about. They did not inform us that our cat had peed on himself- only after I pressed for the information did the tech crassly say “yea but we cleaned it” with little explanation as to what happened. They alleged that he was too upset for a complete blood draw, which is out of character completely. At the conclusion of our visit they had us pay and said they would call with a follow-up where, when we were almost home, told us to return for an anxiety pill so they could complete the draw. We had already completed our 40 minute commute- this should have been handled before we got home! Not another 40 minutes to get the pill and a whole extra round-trip to return.. Lastly. I am extremely disappointed at the vet’s delivery of blood results and follow-up.. I received an email stating the results of the test without a callback. This is the first time in 15 years of cat ownership that I’ve encountered such disconnect in patient care. I took my cat to VCA Kapolei for a second opinion and blood test. They said they had ZERO issues with his blood draw and that he was not significantly disturbed during the appointment. The vet gave me a full rundown of his disposition and neurological physical results. The DOCTOR will be calling me directly with result findings and a way forward. I am disappointed in PetVet because I have formerly had positive interactions but lately they’ve lacked. This was my final straw. I no longer endorse this clinic. What would have made this a better experience? If the techs accurately relayed information to the doctor (ie the video evidence of the alarming behavior), if the tech specified the urine incident instead of my having to call it out- which made me feel as if they were hiding it. And the inability of the staff to mention the medication for the next draw BEFORE we left the facility. I am happy that we did not trust this vet and their suggestion for medication since my cat was terrific for the next round of techs at VCA.. he has NEVER had an issue with blood draws or physicals and it makes me question how he was treated during the time in their care.

Experiencia fantástica: I spent three years on the island of oahu and the veterinarians at petvet always provided an excellent experience. Not only took amazing care of my cat but notified me throughout the process, so I was stressing. They were all very quick and accommodating. Highly recommend! Experiencia fantástica: Recently moved to the island and getting into the mindset that things are just going to take a little longer and to get used to it. That is until I brought my recently rescued kitten to get her vaccinations. Same day appointment that lasted ~45 minutes, largely because Kiki (Camshaft officially) was getting spooked with being picked up. The closest analogy I can think of is PetVet is the Jimmy John's of vet hospitals. Fast, efficient, and amazing quality. When we move back to the mainland, giving up PetVet will definitely be on my mind. Which considering no one thinks about the vet on a daily basis is the highest compliment I can give.
Experiencia fantástica: My baby got her paw injured a few days ago. I took her to Petvet because of the great reviews. The staff were so sweet and professional. They knew that we were anxious. The doctor was gentle and diagnosed my cat thoroughly and explained everything she was doing. My cat didn’t complain much at all. She’s home recovering with a kitty collar. Experiencia fantástica: We brought our dog here for emergency services. We were very fortunate that PetVet Animal Hospital was able to see us even though we had not been here before. The staff was extremely friendly and thoughtful with our dog. The hospital is very clean and the Vet we saw was extremely nice and took care of our dog really well. Can't say enough good things about our experience here.

Experiencia negativa: Brought my dog in for a quick booster, but my dog was placed into a choke leash, and I wasn’t permitted to be with him to witness the inoculation. I told them I didn’t want to have the leash used on my dog and wanted to be present. I was told that “this is our normal practice”. The only positive was the rapid payment of my visit (of course let’s get the mad guy out of here). I’ve had good experiences here before, but there was no effort to listen to me as the guardian of the dog. I shouldn’t have to over explain that I’ve paid for services before that my dog never actually received due to bad businesses, and or any trauma my dog may have with certain control tools due to his past. I will not be coming here again.

Experiencia negativa: Even when you schedule a tech visit for nails, you get charged an exam fee. Done with this place. Been trying this place for over a year now and always come in thinking maybe the last person I dealt with was new and unprofessional and instead I leave disappointed every time. I have worked at vet clinics before and this place is a disappointment. Always sneaking in unneeded charges and don’t pay attention to the lobby. I was taught if a pet is vocal in the lobby you put them in a room when they check in. They don’t do that and instead other owners run to their cars to wait to get away from the echoing chaos in the lobby. My $50+ ‘tech’ visit for a nail trim, anal gland and carprofen refill took over an hour. Go to a groomer, atleast the cost is upfront and no hidden fees. Ridiculous. Might as well come in on a bad day, will ruin a good day no matter what.

Experiencia fantástica: The staff at PetVet Animal Hospital are always attentive, supportive, and efficient. Whenever Bear has any issues they are always providing clarity and if not the follow-up is always fantastic. Our families especially love the way Dr. Nagata treats and cares for our dogs. I've worked with many practitioners throughout my career and the really good ones take their time explaining to you the details around a condition or injury along with providing options that don't make you feel pressured to feel a certain way or make a regretful decision. One of the best things about Dr. Nagata is that I never feel rushed out of an appointment and I always feel confident knowing we have a plan in place. One thing a lot of provider's do not do that Dr. Nagata does is reinforce positive habits and behaviors with what we're doing to care for Bear, although we're adults it always feels good to know you're doing the right things to keep your dogs happy and healthy! Experiencia negativa: I think they overexpanded. Did not have a good experience with the vet last time. They don't treat emergencies well. The vets are decent but without proper management with walk-ins (other staff), can make any owner upset. They stated one of my dogs need to come in sedated and in a muzzle, yet I brought them to a new vet today and he did fine without biting.... Kinda says a lot. And read the other negative comments because those are more accurate. Petvet gaslights before it takes responsibility.
Experiencia fantástica: I highly recommend PetVet Animal Hospital! I just moved back to the island and I was apprehensive about taking my dog (Yogi Lamar) to a new veterinarian. Thankfully, I found this clinic and they were so incredibly professional, welcoming and kind! The veterinarian was knowledgeable and efficient! She both listened and suggested the best treatment plan for my dog. By the third day, Yogi was back to his usual self! Also, I found the service to be reasonably priced, which also had me a little worried, but it all worked out! So thank you PetVet Animal Hospital ❤️

Experiencia positiva: The appointment went well. I will say that for a first time visitor of the place, walking in and having 4-5 workers directly facing the entry was a bit nerve racking. Not to mention no one really said anything until I got up to the counter and was confused where to go. Other than that everyone seemed pretty friendly and welcoming of my pet.
