What I love most about Park Vet is that they are so kind, understanding, and responsive. If I have a question, they are able to help via email and phone. They always work with us to come up with a plan and give clear options that work in the best interest of our pet as well options that are economical. They firmly believe in ethical, humane practices, listen to ours needs, while always responding without judgment. I wish I knew how great they were sooner and cannot recommend them enough.

Experiencia fantástica: We saw Dr. Hanrahan for my dog, and our kitten a few months ago. Not only was she well informed on my dog's medical history at the initial appointment (she'd called our previous vet and spoke personally to them), she remembered our kitten, who we'd brought a few months ago and asked how she was doing. It's obvious to me that Dr. Hanrahan works hard, cares for her patients, and looks at the entire picture to help her patients feel the best they can. Bailey was our vet tech for my dog's appointment, and she was incredible with handling a nervous, shaky dog who hates the vet. By the time the appointment was over, Milo (my dog) was no longer shaking, and accepting cautious pets. It's obvious this team cares deeply for their patients, they've given me peace of mind. I HIGHLY recommend going here. They're also right near Southpoint, so the roads to get there for the Durham area are pretty great.

The care they have provided for my pets has been absolutely unmatched, and here is why: From the second you walk in, you are greeted with a smile from reception. Anytime I call to ask a question, request a prescription refill, or schedule a visit, the CSR team is on top of it. All of the assistants and technicians I have met have been so kind and informative. They make every visit flow so smoothly and are incredibly thorough. Jon recognizes me and my pup every time he sees us! When my senior dog began having some health issues, the diagnostics and thorough treatment plan Dr. Hanrahan provided were top notch. My sweet girl is doing fantastic, and I’m so grateful we have answers. Today, I took my spicy-ish kitty in for her first visit with Park. The team who came together to help make her blood draw a breeze (with a little help from some easy-cheese) was excellent. And, of course, Dr. Thompson is an absolute delight! There is no question that these people are here for the pets, but they are equally as good with the people. Thank you, Park!!

I’ve been a client for years, EVERYONE at Park Vet has been a pleasure to encounter; they are kind, caring, and knowledgeable. We are fortunate to have such great care available for our pets in South Durham.

Dr. Thompson was amazing and had the best bedside manner lol (wish my doctor talked to me the way she talked to Joe) she didn’t try to upsell a bunch of products I didn’t need (something I took notice of because my other vet does this a lot) I knew I wanted to leave a review but the welcome letter (see photo) sealed the deal! I loved the hand written note from her! Such a great personal touch that really makes a difference to me when choosing providers for my pets! Thank you so much! Experiencia positiva: Generally really good and thorough care from people that love animals. They either keep great notes or always remember our pet's personalities whenever we visit, and I've always had great experiences when talking to the workers there. The only negative I've had is their hours can be pretty random with the closing for 2.5 hours on Thursdays only. It would be great if they could at least have someone working the front desk/pharmacy at those times even if they aren't taking actual patients in. We've been going there for years now, and wouldn't expect to have to check those hours considering we normally go to them during that time on other days

I dont think anyone here is trying to make you feel bad. But some of the vets have given me a sus vibe. But I gotten pet insurance recently, I implore anyone reading who doesn't to get this. But this a great place. Especially if your in the area.

A particular shout out to the vet tech Jade and Dr. Joan Hunt. They were amazing, thoughtful, and explained everything they were doing at every step along the way. Thank goodness for places like this!

Experiencia fantástica: Park Vet and Urgent Care is wonderful. Each of my dogs has been to the urgent care at one point, and Park Vet always finds time to see them same-day. Most recently, my rescue Lab saw Dr. Patton for an cut on his face, and she was so gentle and sweet to him. Every one of the staff members treats the animals in their care with a great deal of attention and love. Additionally, their urgent care prices are extremely reasonable compared to other clinics in the Triangle.

I appreciate that this is such a cat-friendly practice and everyone tries to make it as gentle as possible for my cat. Experiencia fantástica: I am in Durham due to a medical issue for my husband (semi-long term). I started noticing symptoms/behaviors that were different in my Maltese. I researched local vets, and Park by far was most recommended. I secured an appointment and saw Dr. Carroll. She was amazing. She did blood work, sent me results with explanations and opinions, and options. We are going back tomorrow for further tests. It’s super important to have good care for your fur baby when you’re already in a very stressful medical situation with a loved one. I feel very comfortable with Dr. Carroll and the staff at Park.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr Crockett and staff were so my responsive to my specific needs. I needed a fast turn around for a stray cat (exams, tests, shots) that I was working hard to get adopted. They saw me within a week and were really fast to provide the needed documentation. The cat is now on its way to a forever home Very grateful to all involved!

Experiencia fantástica: My 6 year old Akita has been going here since our relocation to Durham. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Dr. Hunt takes the time to listen to any concerns with my dog. The staff are excellent in reaching out when I have had a concern and they actually follow up to ensure it was completed. I will continue take him here unless we move out of the area. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for excellent friendly veterinary care. Update: Dr. Hunt is wonderful. Syvion was seen by another vet. I called the next day with some concerns that things were not improving. Long story short Dr. Hunt called nearly 1.5 hours after they had closed to discuss his condition and the treatment she had prescribed earlier that day after I called. Even though it was after hours it was not a rushed conversation but she took the time to review his records from his old vet. I can not express enough how much this meant to me. We love Dr. Hunt.

The staff, techs, and doctors are great with communication. I received my pup’s labs by email the next day (after a Sunday appointment)! My pup & I love the care received at Park Vet.

While our previous vet was great, coming to Park Vet really showed us what a stellar experience can look like for both our dog and us. The practice is great about scheduling and everyone we’ve met has been a pleasure to work with. I cannot recommend Dr. Hanrahan highly enough - she is knowledgeable, warm, and willing to put in a tremendous amount of time and energy at each appointment to make sure our dog has as positive of an experience as possible. Our dog can be very wary of strangers - our previous vet wanted to sedate him for all appointments, which we were fine with, but when Dr. Hanrahan was open to getting to know him with a muzzle and then weaning him off of that, we were thrilled. He has done great since (with a lot of TLC)! Thank you to the entire Park Vet staff!

Experiencia fantástica: The most thorough and personable vets! Our cats are never upset to be there (only to get into the carrier) and both the doctors and associates treat every animal just like their own family. Cannot recommend this gem enough.

Experiencia negativa: We have 2 dogs, and we have been regular, loyal Park Vet clients since we moved here from California in 2022. It is under new management and we are very disappointed in how we and our pets have been treated here recently. I called the new manager to relate what happened over two weeks in July. Instead of listening, she proceeded to defend it all, and interrupt me and raise her voice (really yelling at me over the phone) in a condescending manner. The experience left me literally shaking. Probably the worst customer care situation I have experienced. From July 20-23, our 2 dogs shared a kennel. The attendants said one (a dog we rescued in 2024) was traumatized by a barking dog caged next to him. I am not guessing about this. The attendant told me this as we picked up our dogs. I had paid for anxiety chews, but they only gave it once/day. I asked them why they did not contact me to allow more? I would never want him traumatized, and he was. He urinated all over himself and his sister in his kennel. We only realized the dogs were urine-soaked when we got them into the car at 5 PM & the facility closed as we left. My husband’s car was covered in urine by the time we arrived home. Once inside, a loud noise caused our dog to urinate on the rug in my husband’s office. He has never had an accident in our home since we adopted him in November 2024. He also had no history of this. I called his adoption agency and they corroborated this. On June 2, I called the boarding facility and spoke with the “spa” manager, who said she was the new manager. She agreed that our case was very mishandled, and said that dogs should be rinsed off if they urinate on themselves in their kennels. She also said we should have been contacted about the trauma he was experiencing. She offered to make a (paid, not gratis) bath reservation for both dogs on July 3. At 9:50 AM on July 3, a woman from the “spa” called to tell me they were overbooked, and she was cancelling our appointment. I couldn’t believe it. I explained the history of our case, and expected she would find spots, but she was adamant--rude, cold, unprofessional. I called the main office & left 3 messages for the new manager, who never called back. While yelling at me, she says that she was told that “she didn’t have to” call me back. She disagreed with the assessment the spa manager made about rinsing off our dogs. She said the facility had no obligation to rinse urine-soaked dogs, even if they were traumatized by excessively barking dogs houses next to them. She said that I wasted her time telling her I am Disabled with a serious disease—a relapse being the reason it took a week to report the urine issue. She said that I didn’t know what I was talking about regarding my dog’s trauma, even though that report came directly from the people working in boarding, and his caretakers prior to us. I cannot begin to express how discouraging and disconcerting this conversation was. You may imagine the level of guilt that we felt about this. We rescued our dog. We purposefully left him and his “sister” with their vet because you all know them and their history, and we trusted that they would receive the very best care. We were squeezed in for grooming on July 3, and that manager was excellent. He really tried to rectify the situation, but we needed to understand fully what was going on with this “new” management. Attitude and culture starts at the top and filters down. So, my dogs were covered in urine. Our car was covered in urine. We weren’t told of our dog’s anxiety to mitigate. We were also given false info about pricing for a Sunday pick up (charged a full night regardless of pick-up time) and dental water add-ons. Our appointment for grooming was cancelled. And I was yelled at by the new manager for trying to relate these issues. I emailed the owner to find out if this is the level of customer care that we can expect moving forward with new management. She never replied. So we will be moving on I guess.

Experiencia fantástica: Everyone I’ve met at Park Veterinary Hospital has been welcoming, thorough, and caring in treating my (almost) 17 year-old cat. We just moved here and it’s a relief to have found such good care for Sadie.

Staff listens and helps to craft a plan of care that works not only for the pet but the entire pet + human family! That is a rare feature in vet care, and the humans are appreciative! And most of all - we know our pets are well taken care of. Before Park we had the same vet in Greensboro for 30 yrs, but when they retired, the change was challenging for us. We are so blessed to have been referred to Park Vet by my colleagues - and over the past years I've recommended them to my friends. With Park Vet you never have to doubt that you furry child is getting the best care possible with many options for treatment. There's something to fit every family!

Experiencia fantástica: Park Veterinary Hospital is responsive, caring and helpful even though we use a mobile vet for our primary care. Our vet does not work on the weekends, and we have needed immediate care on the weekend several times over the last 10+ years. Not only do they always have a slot available, we have been treated like we are their ongoing patients. So caring and attentive!! And excellent care. I have had the same vet for decades, and she always agrees with their prognosis and care when we check back in with her. When she retires, we will be packing up the pets and going to Park Vet.

Experiencia fantástica: We recently moved from Florida and We have seen Dr. Hunt twice in the last two weeks with our senior dog. She takes a lot of time in each appointment, answers my very anxious dog mom questions completely, doesn’t judge. It’s so hard to watch our fur babies slow down and having a vet like Dr. Hunt has made it more bearable. We are so grateful we found her and so is Lilly.

Experiencia negativa: First, I am not a review person. In fact, I had to create an account just to write this, that's how infuriated I am. Last night, my poor fella had a true EMERGENCY. He was vomiting and had diarrhea with bleeding profusely from his rectum. He is currently a patient at Park Veterinary and "URGENT CARE" (what BS!). When I called, they said there was NO WAY he could be seen and that we had to go to the vet hospital. To me, this is UNEXCEPTABLE. If your fur baby is currently a patient of record or you are considering Park Veterinary, I strongly suggest you reconsider! I have been in the medical field for 30+ years and if any of my patients called with an emergency, we would do everything within our capabilities to accommodate. DO BETTER!!

Our darling "pup" has a strong personality and can be selective as to who he does/doesn't like. Due to my having a medical procedure, we decided it best that our "pup" board at Park Veterinary Pet Boarding and Spa. It was the best decision ever! During our "pup's" stay, Xander sent pictures of our a very happy "pup". In addition, when calling to check on our "pup" it was evident that our "pup" was having a wonderful time and was receiving great care! After our "pup's" return home, I had a medical emergency which required our "pup" to return to Park Veterinary Pet Boarding and Spa. Xander was a gem in facilitating our "pup's" smooth return and again it was evident that our "pup" genuinely liked Xander. We are very thankful to Xander S. especially during that time and it was a comfort to know that our "pup" was receiving outstanding care.

Experiencia fantástica: I can't recommend this office enough. I had an emergency with my cat, panicked, and called the first urgent care that popped up on my Google search. They rushed me in! I am so thankful ✨️ Nathan and Dr. Crockett were amazing. Both were so caring, knowledgeable, and just overall one of the best experiences I have had at any vet office. As we all know, most cats don't love to be poked by strangers, especially in a new environment. This is the most relaxed my cat has been in any office/clinic. I am hoping to shift my kitcats to this office as their regular vet.

Experiencia fantástica: My dog Fuji, a very senior Shiba Inu was due for her Bodertella shot last week. Our apartment landlord required all dogs to have this shot. I was so hesitant to make her appointment with Park Vet because Fuji had been very aggressive toward handlers at Park Vet in the past two years, and not to mention her disdain for riding in the car. Fuji started to bark and scream obnoxiously (Shibas are famous for their annoying vocals) the whole way there. She didn’t stopped while waiting for her turn. When our assigned technician Kevin showed up, l had doubts anyone would able to give Fuji her shot plus a pedicure. I warned him about Fuji and he said he saw the notes on Fuji. Kevin picked Fuji up with a blanket and they went to the back. My mom and l sat patiently waiting by the front entrance. Not long after, Kevin appeared with Fuji. I was thinking nothing was done because the whole process was brief. Kevin said Fuji got her shot and he gave her a pedicure. I could not believe it! I even asked Kevin whether he still got all his fingers? I was so impressed by Kevin! He did the impossible! Fuji’s nails were cut to perfection! I highly recommend Park Vet, we have been going there for close to ten years! I would request Kevin also! My mother was very impressed with Kevin. She sang his praises in the car on our way home with Fuji.

So attentive, excellent discharge instructions, follow up first thing the next morning, and just a ton of sincere love and care for our Canelo. Can’t recommend Park Vet enough!

Experiencia positiva: Historically was very satisfied with Park Vet, but a few items have left a sour taste in my mouth and as a result I decided to start bringing my cats to a vet closer to my new apartment. They prescribed a medication which they were going to charge me a bit over $20 for. I got the exact same medication on Chewy for $2. A 10x up charge is crazy and I probably never would have questioned it had I not worked in a pharmacy in the past. The tipping point was today. I had an appointment scheduled for tomorrow morning, they texted me at 10AM asking me to confirm the appointment by 2PM or it would be canceled. I didn’t have a chance to check my texts during the day and they canceled the appointment because I didn’t respond in that 4 hour window. Seems they have too many patients currently - now they have 3 fewer. All that being said, the vets are very kind as are the majority of the staff.

Experiencia fantástica: We are new Park Veterinary clients and couldn’t be happier with the quality of care our dog is receiving. Dr. Crossno, Jon, and Bailey have been both clinically expert and compassionate in supporting our newly rescued Rocky through treatment for pre-existing heartworms. The whole staff is kind, capable, and welcoming with our sensitive and currently high-needs pup, and we are all reassured knowing that his medical care is in such excellent hands.

I was really worried my old scruffy dog was going to cost a million dollars and I don't have a million dollars and I felt guilty but he was very sympathetic and patient going over the cost and working with me to break up the visits into affordable chunks and it's not going to cost a million dollars!! Dr.Kate Leslie was also very sweet and calm and soothing on top of very knowledgeable. Very happy with my vet!

They have seen all three of my cats for anything from routine visits to saving one of them from an abscess that would’ve been a bad time without Dr. Leslie specifically. All of the doctors and techs treat the dogs like their own, and are always ready to help answer questions and patiently explain aspects of care. We took our little Pomeranian named Peanut in for his neuter, and Jocelyn our surgery tech was incredibly patient, informative, and kind to both us and to Peanut. 5-stars across the board for the whole team. Experiencia fantástica: Best first time visit to a vet's office I've ever had! Everyone who owns a cat knows how traumatizing the vet can be, and this was the least traumatic visit I've ever experienced. The vet tech was so knowledgeable about all things cats and sent us home with so much information to help improve her quality of life. During the hands on exam, the vet even covered our cat with a cloth and it was the calmest I've seen her during an exam. The cherry on top was the vet tech checking whether or not there were dogs in the waiting room on our way out. Such a cat friendly place with great staff who know their stuff!

Experiencia negativa: I got my cat at APS and I received a list of vets in my area. Under Park Veterinary, it said free exam with 48hrs of adoption. I called the same day I got my cat and made an appointment. When I was making my appointment, I ask the gentleman I was speaking to about the free exam, he said that all I had to do was bring that paper showing the free exam so they can honor it. So when I show to my appointment and get checked by a doctor, and I’m about to leave I’m told I have to pay $80. I explain to the guy helping he said he knew nothing about it. I was the last appointment of the night and we were all just trying to leave so I paid it and he told me to call back the next day and talk to a manager. I called the next day, I was told that a message would be sent to the manager and I would get a call back. 2 days pass, still no word so I call again, same thing, they say they’ll call me back. Finally after 4 days she calls me, just to tell me that they can’t do anything about it, even after I give the exact time and day I called. I even ask her to check their system, but she says the system is wrong because it shows her initials but that wasn’t her. Oh but they did offer a free pedicure, well they can shove it. I’ll make sure to let everyone I know, not to go here. If they can’t honor their word, then they don’t deserve your business.

On more than one occasion I've walked in their office with my dog and multiple employees stop to greet her-- by her name, and with joy in their eyes. I can tell my dog is loved and in very good hands at Park Veterinary Hospital, and their Boarding & Spa facility.

Experiencia fantástica: I have experience as a veterinary technician, so I can be very critical of some veterinary facilities. We moved to N.C. from NoVA during COVID, and Park Vet was the only place who was accepting new patients in my area. From the moment I walked in the door for my first visit with my dog, I was put at ease with the friendly and knowledgeable front desk staff. Over the last 3 1/2 years, I’ve grown comfortable with vets on staff as well, and am completely trust them with the care of both my dogs. I highly recommend them for your veterinary/grooming/boarding needs!

Experiencia fantástica: I had such a lovely visit at Park Vet yesterday! Nathan, the assistant, was so thoughtful and anticipated Otis's and my needs from start to finish. He shared info with me with care, all the while totally accomodating my dog and making him feel welcome and at ease. Dr. Crossno came in to help Otis get the care he needed and she was absolutely wonderful! She eased into her time with my dog and made time for his needs and my concerns and questions. I felt so seen and heard during this visit. I can not say enough about Park Veterinary! I am so thankful for such knowledgable, kind and caring staff to care for my dog.

Experiencia fantástica: This practice has cared for my five cats over many years, and I know many of the doctors at this point. I have never had one experience with Park Vet that wasn't exceptional, from routine care when my cats were kittens to very specialized care for my special needs cat to end-of-life care for two of my cats. Every single vet in this practice is fantastic: kind, caring, well-informed, and very available. And if you happen to be looking for a vet who can handle the rare neurological disease Feline Hyperesthesia Syndrome, go see Dr. Hunt! She is exceptional, and I know vets with knowledge of FHS can be hard to find.

We had to bring her recently for an urgent visit and she answered all of my questions, worked with us on a plan and checked in a few days later to make sure things were going well. Not only is she expert in what she does, she genuinely cares for my pet, which means the world.

Experiencia fantástica: I really value the people who work at Park Vet - I have had memorably good experiences with the receptionists, vet techs, and vets. I had some follow up questions after my recent visit and called in on a Saturday and received a call back 1-2 hours later with a vet tech who kindly gave me suggestions, information, and made notes for my vet about the situation. I come to Park Vet because I trust them to care for my cat and they've never let me down, but they go above and beyond with the kindness they show both me and her.

Experiencia fantástica: Wonderful facility. They seem to really care and remember your pet. They usually had very quick appointment slots available. Only complaint was that one time I called for an appointment and they were able to get me in on a Saturday... Perfect. I show up the next day (Sat) and didn't find out until check out but they charge a weekend fee (which is understandable). Just disappointed that wasn't advised when scheduling, I would have had the option to choose an alternate day.

I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great vet clinic. I also want to recognize the staff upfront who always welcome with a smile or a nice greeting when I call. Experiencia negativa: Very disappointed in Park Vet- their organization has declined in the last year. We complete all the pre-check in beforehand, only to be told they don’t see it- and have to wait 15 minute for them to search and find it in their database. While our dog was boarding they gave her the wrong vaccine- due to their once again incorrect documentation. Check in and check out to board takes an upward of 20-30 min even though we do all the paperwork before and there is no urgency even though we have stated many times our dog is reactive and would be better suited in a separate waiting room. Every-time we board we always receive a call or text about something they messed up on- it is very stressful. We will be going to another vet from now on.

However, Dr. Carroll rearranged her schedule and stayed late to be able to meet with us. This type of care and commitment exemplifies why we are so happy with Park Vet.

Experiencia positiva: They fit me in on short notice. However, advancing my late afternoon appt to morning did have a 50% upcharge. A bit disorganized between Vets and reception, yet it eventually comes together. They seem to care. Would have appreciated independent 2nd opinion (given emergent exam $111 fee) vs deferral to Triangle Hospital ($1008 work up). Had pallitative consult for 16yr cat diagnosed with aggressive carcinoma. Advice rendered by Dr.Goodwin was pragmatic. Skimpy on medication (~$74/0.90ml buprenex, $20steroid injection). Pricing could be more competitive. Busy practice.

I switched to this practice after a series of disappointing experiences at Triangle Veterinary Hospital on Chapel Hill Road (a long story for another review). The vets at Park are experienced, knowledgeable, and their people skills are as good as their animal skills! Every time I go there, whether it is for a regular checkup or a sick visit or, most recently, for a dental cleaning for one of my two dogs, I have a great experience. I feel like I am included in an informed decision making process about whatever my pet needs. The techs and every staff member who works there are kind, friendly, and seem to be happy to be working there. I could go on and on, but I will just finish by saying that all of the vets are amazing but I absolutely adore Dr. Hunt! I have so much respect for her, and trust her implicitly with anything about my dogs.

Experiencia positiva: Wait was insane. But their water had been shut off that morning and they had to delay opening, something I’m sure added to the wait that was beyond their control. Once seen the care was excellent, the kindest Vet Tech, Ashlylee, and the Vet was excellent. Price was expensive but the trip was thorough and they took care of my cat when I needed someone immediately. Hopefully I don’t need an UrgentVet in the future but if I do I will be coming back here.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr Hunt has kept care of our 4 dogs since we brought our first one home 9 years ago. She is great with the dogs, Bailey thinks she is the second most important human in his life behind momma and ahead and daddy, and also the owners. Never pushes us onto treatments that aren't needed and explains everything well. We also have two cats that see Dr Hannrahan and while they hate humans that aren't their owners they tolerate her (nothing she does wrong) and we love to see her.
