Experiencia fantástica: On Sunday we noticed our 5 year old dog had a high temp along with lethargy & lack of appetite - after calling ARK, we were referred to REVS due to capacity - REVS suggested Pittsford Animal Hospital, who was able to get us in almost exactly at the time our GPS said we'd be there. They were compassionate and caring from the phone call, the check in, and explained everything thoroughly before taking Rhea back for triage and exam. The Dr. called and updated how she was and gave the options for further examination/diagnostics along with costs and which options made more sense to pursue. The time taken to explain everything over the phone, and be available for questions meant a lot. Everyone encountered in the building really seems to care about your pet like their own. They are saved in my phone now, although I hope I don't need to make any other Urgent Care visits any time soon!

Experiencia fantástica: Thank you to everyone on the Saturday evening team for taking care of our sweet boy. We were met with compassion and respect from the moment he was brought in from the parking lot on a gurney until we sadly had to leave without him. We were able to take our time in a private room to say goodbyes, and I was able to stay with him while he passed peacefully. Every step of the process was done with kindness, respect, and compassion. My family and I cannot thank you enough for making a very difficult time a little bit easier.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Ashton is the best. She understands the unique needs of our dog and treats him accordingly. She is extremely kind and respectful and most of all we trust her to care for our beloved dog Brody ❤️. In addition, the tech staff gets kudos for drawing blood and vaccinating him with care and compassion. They let me stay with him and went the extra mile to make it stress free for him and me ! Experiencia fantástica: I showed up early due to the fact I was driving for over an hour. They took my Bentley right in. The wait wasn't very long. My doggy is very sick and he's so little. They were all so helpful.

Experiencia fantástica: Staff were incredibly friendly and lovely. I called them the second I saw issues with my snake (a jungle carpet python) and they booked me in ASAP to get him seen. The exotics vet was very knowledgeable on reptiles and was great with him- he got excellent care and already seems happier. My only complaint would be that the wait times were incredibly long however I’m aware of issues with vet shortages as well as more animals being adopted since Covid so I don’t hold that against them- just something to be aware of.

Experiencia fantástica: We have a 6 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback Dog. She suddenly developed extremely red and swollen eyes with the inner part of her eye with red drooping upper and lower lids. She was extremely light sensitive. We called every vet, including our regular vet and all the "emergency vet" hospitals in our area and beyond, no one had availability, totally booked. One service recommended Pittsford Animal Hospital. I called and they took her immediately. The doctor, Dr. Kelsey Webb, examined her thoroughly, not only her eyes but everything, along with her history. We felt so comfortable and knew we had been directed to the right place. Dr. Webb's plan of care included antibiotics and eye drops which the hospital supplied before discharge. After just 2 doses of eye drops and antibiotics, our dog looks 100% better. Her eyes are no longer red and swollen with no sensitivity to light. We highly recommend the Pittsford Animal Hospital and Dr. Webb. We will definitely be using their services going forward for all our vet needs. Highly recommend everyone do the same. The staff was very friendly and accommodating as well.

Experiencia fantástica: Pittsford Animal Hospital is so well organized and comforting from the first phone contact through our visit. We had an urgent care need on Christmas Eve and our usual veterinarian was closed for 2 days. The animal hospital had same day appointment for Dec. 24 and Dec. 25. We were seen at 8:45 AM. The vet tech was caring and thorough as was Dr. Whyle. They diagnosed the problem, ran a urine test and prescribed a medication within an hour. Now, 36 hours later, our dog is back to her usual self (although the medication will continue for another week). We would definitely switch to Pittsford Animal Hospital for our regular veterinary needs if they were closer (45 minutes away by car). Thank you so much. Our emergencies always seem to happen on weekends and holidays!

Experiencia fantástica: My cat had a tail injury that required urgent attention. We were referred to Pittsford Animal Hospital for their urgent care after calling Rochester Emergency Vet Services. We called them on a Saturday morning and they made an urgent appointment for us right away. After the initial exam, they opted for surgery, which they were able to schedule for the next day. Our cat was so well taken care of and I cannot thank them enough for working so quickly and diligently. Every single staff member we interacted with was patient, knowledgeable, and very kind to us as we navigated a stressful situation. They went out of their way to make sure we knew and understood all of our options for treatment, and we never once doubted that our cat was being treated with the utmost care. Our cat is recovering excellently from his procedure and I would feel entirely confident bringing a pet here should we ever face an urgent situation again.

Experiencia fantástica: They are great. We need to get our dog seen for a cough that she couldn't get rid of on black friday. They took her without a problem and got her right in. I call other places and they wouldn't take my dog because of her age(11). But Pittsford animal hospital didn't care about the age and was will to help her. Experiencia fantástica: We called Rochester Emergency Vet services and they were too busy to accept new patients. We waited an hour and called our vet when they opened, they were closed for the day for training. We called ARK and waited on hold 15 minutes, they never came back. Before heading to Buffalo or Cornell, I placed one last call to Pittsford Animal Hospital and they were there for us. It was like a boulder was lifted from our chest from relief. The Dr ended up being incredible. They did tests to include/exclude causes and within a couple hours we had firmly landed on a likely cause and treatment plan. I will use them again on the future. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to friends and family. I'm glad we have a business like this in the community to fill our emergency vet care shortage.

Experiencia fantástica: When it became clear that Dip (of Dip & Dot) was having a serious health issue, Pittsford Animal Hospital was the only facility in the area that had an opening for us. Everyone I interacted with was caring, and more than happy to answer my many questions. I spoke with Dr Bellefeuille over the phone. He was very thorough, made sure I knew all the options and outcomes, and gave me time to process and cry. What impressed me most was when my 12-year-old daughter came with me to pick our cat up, Dr B spoke to both of us and looked to her to make sure she didn't have any questions. Dip could not have been in better hands, and we're beyond happy to have her back home. The biggest 'thank you' to the whole staff!!

Experiencia fantástica: Our elderly dog was ill. Her usual vet was understaffed and couldn't see her for nearly a week. 3 other urgent care providers coukd also not accommodate Mia. Pittsford Animal Hospital saw her the same day! Her vet was so kind and a big fan (and pet parent) of her breed. Mia's multiple issues were diagnosed quickly and compasdionately and she is feeling much better!

We were unable to secure an appointment with our regular provider and were referred to urgent care at The Animal Hospital of Pittsford for assistance. The staff at AH of Pittsford were very accommodating and scheduled an appointment on 10/25/25 through their urgent care. Experiencia fantástica: Both of my kitties had oral surgery at Pittsford Animal Hospital (2 years apart) due to gum disease. Both surgeries went smoothly and Ezra and Cocoa healed well post op. The second time around, they were able to give long release medication so we didn’t have to give her medicine twice daily for 2 weeks, which was a huge relief as the few we needed to give immediately post op were a challenge. Experiencia fantástica: Update! We LOVE it here! They always get us in when we need to be seen (and that's a lot with 3 senior animals). A special shoutout to the ladies at the front desk! They are so friendly and pleasant to deal with. All the doctors are compassionate and truly care. I highly recommend bringing your fur babies here! I was looking for a vet in the area after moving here and every vet I called wasn't accepting patients except for this one. They were able to see my Chihuahua quickly for stomach issues and then I booked a wellness appt for both my dogs and cat. I took all 3 of them at the same time and even with covid restrictions was done in less than 90 minutes. Even though the communication was over the phone, I felt like they took the time to listen to my concerns and fully explain things to me. I'm very happy so far with this animal hospital!

Experiencia fantástica: With years of fine medical care by Pittsford Animal Hospital, now at the age of 14 our dear cat Taj was sick (liver). He ultimately began to hide away, stop eating, drinking & was clearly in discomfort so we set a time to have him euthanized. It was so sad. Surprisingly however the day before, and that very day, Taj came out of hiding, wanted to be with us, have a drink & snack & seemed fairly happy. Has a miracle happened? Did we make a mistake with this euthanasia appointment? It was very, very confusing. All this to say, Dr. Byrne was the greatest. She gave us time, explanations, and helped us feel clear in knowing the best thing to do. She and the staff were very kind, compassionate, and accommodating, in spite of it being one of the hardest days of our lives. Many thanks to you Dr. Byrne & staff.

Experiencia negativa: Took my dog in as a walk in around 2pm and apparently him having an inflamed penis to the point where he could not urinate and is in pain, isn’t an emergency. The receptionist also told me they were at full capacity but it looked like we were the only ones in there. Even the staff were up front having personal conversations. I ended up calling the animal hospital in buffalo and he got seen right away and he is now being tested for Cancer. Do you even care about animals? Terrible Service !!

Experiencia fantástica: Our pup stepped on a 4 inch lure with triple barbed hooks. The staff at Pittsford emergency vet were wonderful! We had to drive an hour to get there but I’m glad we found this vet. Highly recommend.

Experiencia negativa: I adopted my cat and took him home for the first time on June 13th. The next month, on July 18th, I went to this vet with a lady from the rescue to transfer over vet records as well as a scheduled checkup for said cat. No one told me that the vet is appointment only - something I imagine is *pretty important* for new pet owners to know - AND no one told me that the vet was aware of a scratch on my cat's cornea, most likely from some injury. Not knowing either of those things - things the vet (and the rescue) should have told me - resulted in worry, anxiety, THREE trips to the vet (because I didn't know they were appointment only and the first time the person at the desk told me to just "try again tomorrow"), $67, and missing out on coaching the children at my martial arts school the day I finally got my appointment (I love coaching them, too). Unbelievably irresponsible. The appointment itself went well, but everything surrounding it was incredibly infuriating and could have all been avoided if the vet told me two pieces of CRITICAL information that they should have when the cats records were being transferred to me.

Experiencia positiva: I had never had to go through an urgent care matter with our pets, but it happened. When I called about my situation, the receptionist was very nice. She explained the urgent care process, which is also foreign to me that you must make an appointment to be seen. We LOVE the doctor we saw. She is very knowledgeable, patient and kind. She was transparent about costs of treatments, which in itself is something to respect. The check out process did not go as smooth. It seemed to be a lot of miss communication. Fifteen minutes became an hour. Overall, the veterinarian was great.

Experiencia fantástica: Our 10 year 2 month old female St. Bernard Lyla fell very ill over the course of a short week. We took our baby to their urgent care as a new patient, our primary vet was Storybrook Farm but there was no time and it was a Sunday. Our veterinary Doctor Bellefeuille was concise, thorough, and confident in providing detailed diagnosis quickly from bloodwork / xrays to assist us in the painful decision of euthanizing our best friend unexpectedly. The team was very professional and caring for our situation. I can not thank them enough for their kindness during our toughest moment with our furry friend.

I hope you remember turning me away because you couldnt get control of my 10 pound yorkie who was suffering from allergies and she bites. Obviously! By the way you own me for her dental work since now in your care she lost a tooth due to being incorrectly handled by the wonderful team at your facility.

Experiencia fantástica: Thank you to all the Staff at Pittsford Animal Hospital! All the staff here are extremely caring as well as professional. I brought my dog Patches in a little over a week ago. Overnight patches became extremely lethargic unable to eat, drink or even stand up. Patches is our 11 year old pitbull.. He is my daughter’s emotional support animal. As my teenage daughter battled cancer just less then 3 years ago. Patches is everything to us! Dr. Sara Heslop was so extremely supportive as well as Dr. Kelsey Webb. Dr. Kelsey Webb. Dr. Heslop made sure to let us know all of our options. They kept us updated and informed. They explained to us whatever we decided they will support us no matter what decision we made . Dr Sara Heslop never made us feel pressured if we declined any treatment that we for whatever reason decided to decline. She supported us either way. Again Patches is our everything. After an ultra sound and bloodwork done the doctors informed us patches had a mass on his spleen. We didn’t know if it was cancer or not till the actual surgery 7 days later of having his spleen removed. An ultrasound determined his mass had not ruptured . Patches had a good chance. That was good enough news for us! I decided to go with the surgery. Patches had a 50/50 chance. That was good enough for me! Patches is recovering extremely well. He is himself again! Yet his incision still needs to heal fully. The only down part of his surgery is I have to make sure he doesn’t play to ruff lol patches biopsy came back negative for cancer❤️❤️❤️ Thank you all so very much for the care you have shown us as people as well as the care for patches. I will forever be so grateful.

We were in and out within ~20mins including the appt and checkout. It was the fastest that’s ever taken. The good people at Pittsford Animal Hospital have cared for our dogs for many years, most recently our mini-Dachshund. The vet clinical team is considerate, courteous, and simply the best and a credit to the profession. They provide gentle and expert veterinary care, of course, and fully explain all medical findings and recommendations to the critter's caretakers. The support staff is courteous and helpful, too --- they make appointments, follow-up, paper work, and all of the business ends of things quick and easy and transparent. All in all, Pittsford Animal Hospital is first-rate, we in the Rochester area are fortunate to have them. Thank you.

Experiencia fantástica: So thankful for this place! Our regular vet suggested to go here for an emergency situation. Our dog had 2 bones lodged in his upper mouth and it wasn't good. They had him sedated and the pieces out within maybe 3 hours of our arrival. They followed up with photos and a good 5 minute phone call afterwards explaining everything. Dr. Natalie Byrne was personable, caring and professional.

Experiencia fantástica: Our senior Pekingese got very sick very suddenly on a weekend and we were fortunate enough to get a late drop off appointment at the urgent care here. At 5.30pm on a Saturday we didn't know if we would even be bringing her home but the wonderful team here brought her back for us, everything they did for her was spot on, and their bedside manner was wonderful. The bill was also a lot less than I expected, especially for emergency care for an animal who is not a regular patient. Really very impressed with everything, and she is doing so much better!

Experiencia negativa: First visit was great but 3 days after my cats surgery I called because she wasn't breathing right. They told me they didn't have any appointments and couldn't see her even though she was in distress, then referred me to arch which also turned us away. Started the drive to Tonawanda to the emergency walk in hospital and an hour and 29 minutes in to the drive she passed away. Now I'm upset and pissed off. How can you turn away your own surgical patient after telling me if you have any concerns or if she is not doing well to contact them by any mean. Never again will I take my pets back here. This was just ridiculous and heartbreaking to watch one of my babies pass and her vet not do a damn thing but pass her off

Experiencia fantástica: While Pittsford Animal Hospital is not our usual vet, I highly recommend this location if your pet needs "urgent" care (not emergency care). The staff is caring & knowledgeable. They only do what's necessary & don't convince you of authorizing tests or procedures that are not needed. When I took my pup, the doctor called me on the weekend to give her test results. She could have waited until a normal business day but she took the time knowing how worried I was. 4/2025 - Dr Web is fantastic. She’s patient and always chooses the less aggressive path when it’s appropriate which really helps my bank account. Also, the new thrive membership has saved me SO much money.

Experiencia fantástica: We live an hour and a half away from any sort of emergency vet services, but our vet was out of office on maternity leave and our Saint Bernard (2 years old) needed to be seen immediately. The Medical director, Lisa Boelio is who triaged and helped our girl. She was so knowledgeable, calming in a nerve-wracking situation and the staff was just as amazing. From cleaning up a mess our dog had made to helping me load her in the car after she was coming out if sedation (she's a little over 100 lbs). The facility was clean and quick and the cost wasn't exorbitant considering all that was done to fix our girl (who might I add is doing amazing thanks to them!). If we lived closer, we'd absolutely use this as our primary vet!

Experiencia fantástica: Our girl Mattie gave us a fright on a Sunday morning. Pittsford Animal Hospital and Animal Urgent Care got her right in that day to start supportive care and scheduled an abdominal ultrasound for the following morning. Turns out she had an inflammation of her pancreas. We couldn't be anymore grateful for the wonderful staff for their help. Our girls mean the world to us.

Experiencia negativa: I have/had been a loyal customer for over 30 years. I summer in Rochester however when I needed a fast appointment for my dogs ear infection, I was informed that They would only see her on a $250 emergency visit! I was appalled. Jack the original owner was retired along with Dick Fagan and Paul Black. What happened to loyalty and customer service? I was astounded. I asked for a call back from the head vet and guess what? No courtesy call or even acknowledgment . What has happened to loyalty.
Experiencia positiva: Dr. Ashton was great! Friendly, engaged, smart, knowledgeable, informative, helpful. She took time to talk to hs about our new kitten. She is the reason why I am giving this vet establishment 3 stars and not 1. The facility is loud, and I mean, LOUD. There was a TV blasting on full volume for no reason at all at 8:30 in the morning with no one there but us. For a little kitten like ours who gets scared of every noise, he was terrified. Being at the vet is not a fun experience generally for most people and pets. I would think that it would be important to this practice to try and provide a calming experience for both humans and animals, but that just doesn’t seem to be their MO. The rooms are small (that’s okay) and dirty (not okay). Our room smelled strongly of urine. I guess it’s understandable, they get a lot of pet traffic through each room but again- not a great experience. Checkout- the reception area is open, no way to avoid that, and nothing to be done, that’s what the building layout is. About 6-8 barking dogs on the way out, staff talking super loudly. Absolutely terrifying for a little pet - we had to get him out and put him in the car. One of the worst things for me- no telling us beforehand what things would cost. I had prepaid for the well visit but they did not give me an estimate of cost for the procedures. Just served me the bill at the end. I know other practices give you an estimate before, but this vet does not. I would have paid whatever it was of course, and I did not dispute it but there was no thought given of - let’s tell this new customer with new pet what things are going to be. I don’t think they cared about that to be honest. I am a new customer, with a new kitten but my partner uses them and has for years. When his cat needed to go over the rainbow bridge, it was the same environment- loud barking, people laughing, talking right outside our room, doors were slamming, and they came in while we were trying to say goodbye to his cat, to ask for his credit card. Could it have waited? I don’t think I’ll be back. I really really liked Dr Ashton, that’s why it’s even a question in my mind. If you have a large dog (I love dogs btw) who loves visiting the vet and getting a treat and lots of petting and people around, and other doggos there - that’s the place for you! If your pet is skittish, small, or easily afraid- I wouldn’t. If you don’t care what things cost, and don’t mind a smelly room- go for it! If you’d rather have a cleaner room that doesn’t smell- and be given a cost estimate for your visit, consider other options. Last thing- they have so many customers. That’s kind of the thing- why should they care to make things different? They don’t need you for their business. I know they don’t need me so ♀️ Good luck!

Experiencia fantástica: This is not my usual vet. I had an emergency with my dog over the weekend and they squeezed me in. They were wonderful. They provided updates and were patient in explaining things to me. They clearly cared for my little guy. I received a follow up call the next day that answered even more of my concerns. For emergency services I was expecting an outrageous bill but the cost was very reasonable. I would highly recommend them as a regular vet and also for emergency services.

Experiencia fantástica: My dog had to have dental surgery and I felt my pet was safe and in good hands at PAH. Dr. Delahanty performed the surgery and the outcome was very good. The cost was expensive, but competitive and very reasonable for the care my pet received. I would recommend PAH and Dr. Delahanty.
Experiencia positiva: We had to go to the urgent care services over a weekend at this facility a few weeks ago. The doctor was very thorough and took great care of our dog. Emergency veterinary services have been really hard in Rochester since white spruce blvd closed, this place was great. I also believe it was reasonably priced for all the tests and lab work our dog had done. Dr. Dena also followed up with us on next steps for our dog’s care the following week and that was very helpful.

We have had several appointments here for techs to show us how to do it. Each tech has been kind, helpful, and took lots of time with us - we didn't feel rushed, or like we were in their way, even though I know they are always double or even triple booked. Everyone at the front desk when checking in/out and booking appointments is kind and helpful. I'm so happy we are patients at this practice! Thank you!!
