As we do have our usual family vet, mercy has always been there for us in a pinch or when money is tighter, and for the office being the size it is and how stressful I bet it can be for the staff I think they do great!! Perfect customer service and my cats love the staff, especially now living alone with my partner having two kitties of our own and being so young it’s nice having reliable, helpful animal care for my babies that won’t cost me my left kidney and an arm or a leg lol!!

Experiencia negativa: If I could give zero stars I would. I called this morning to make sure they were open so that I could bring animals in for vaccines. Showed up this afternoon and they are closed due to being “short staffed.” I understand this is non profit and affordable pet care, but how they just decide to be closed half way through the day is beyond unprofessional. Laziness is what I call it.

We've yet to relieve a call, email and fax from you. You Don't answer your calls at all. Most horrible service EVER. GO somewhere else every one. You'll save yourself time anyways.

Experiencia negativa: We had a frustrating experience at this vet clinic. The message we received clearly stated that drop-off time was between 7:00 AM and 7:45 AM, so my fiancé arrived early as instructed. However, when she got there, she was told to wait in line until 8:00 AM. When I spoke to the staff member, Miriam Ponce, about the confusion, she was rude and dismissive. She said she was “just trying to hurry things up” because there were 25 scheduled surgeries — but that doesn’t explain why clients are told to come earlier if they’ll just have to wait anyway. Her attitude throughout the interaction was unprofessional and made the whole experience unpleasant. Clearer communication and better customer service would make a big difference for clients who are already stressed about their pets’ care.

Experiencia fantástica: I have a four month old American Bully puppy named Milo, and I have been bringing him to Mercy Crusade since he was eight weeks old. In my opinion, this is the best place to bring your fur babies. All of the staff here have been so friendly, helpful, and very welcoming. On top of that, all the staff are so sweet to Milo. I haven't had any issues with their walk-in services, nor with appointment scheduling at all. Lastly, doctor Rogers is by far absolutely amazing! She is so knowledgeable and informative, and you can just tell that she really cares about the people and their pets. If you want a great pet clinic with staff who you can trust, very reasonable pricing, along a great vet experience for your pet, then this is the place to go. Thank you, Mercy, Crusade!

Experiencia negativa: My daughters pup wa having an emergency and I walked in to get help in the middle of the morning and was asked to leave because they can’t help with emergencies. My pup died as we left to look for help. Hope they never have to watch their child’s best friend. Very rude when asked to get out if the office.

Experiencia positiva: I just came in to get my dog his rabies vaccine. I felt like they could have done better with getting those who were there just for vaccines, in and out much quicker. Other than that it was pretty simple and once it was our turn it was quick and easy. I do wish they offered more CLEAR information on fees for all services, including information regarding what services are offered on a “sliding scale” and what info/proof is needed to be approved for a lower fee. It was very loud and hectic inside and it was near impossible to hear the woman behind the counter. Plus, the woman was more interested and taking my payment and then telling me to take a seat, than she was in answering my questions. It is a good clinic though. It’s just some of the staff are less than helpful and have little to no patience for questions.

Experiencia fantástica: Mercy Crusade is the best. Had two neighborhood stray cats neutered for hundreds of dollars less than what our regular vet quoted. Staff is dedicated, knowledgeable, loving and respectful of animal clients and their families. Dr. Rodgers is amazing.

Experiencia fantástica: The work this clinic does is truly amazing. They have helped us with two apparently abandoned male cats who just wandered into our yard and decided to stay. Already having three girls who were left behind when a feral mother had them beside the garage and took off, we can't realistically afford expensive vet bills for five critters, cute as they are. Mercy Crusade's neutering clinic was a lifesaver. We had a more serious problem when the boys got into a series of fights and the smaller of the two ended up with wounds so substantial he required surgery. Once again, Mercy was there with excellent care at a reasonable price. The staff is personable and knowledgeable. There is obviously a lot of experience at play here. They do a great job of handling the logistics. Appointments are honored and walk-ins are processed efficiently. Doctor Rodgers, who performed the surgery, was exceptionally skilled and took a long time to educate and encourage us to ask questions both pre and post-procedure. Parking can be a bit of an issue, but patience has its rewards. Mercy is an appropriate name for this facility.

Each time I come every single vet is always so welcoming to both my dog and I. They also remember our names which is so cool! I love my pit-bull so much and having surgery is a scary thing but knowing that these people take such good care of my baby always makes it easier in my heart. They work everyday answering the same questions over and over again. I have so much respect for them. Also Cassandra the appointment coordinator is always so sweet. She’s always standing outside ready to help anyone who comes by whether it be raining, windy, sunshine, or even fires. I love everyone here and I’m so grateful I have a place like this to put my trust in. 10/10 recommend. Thank you Mercy Crusade.

Your staff is personable and easy to understand. At no point did I feel like a “NEXT”, I knew everyone was genuinely good folk. I had a lovely time in Oxnard. Experiencia fantástica: My constant companion of five and a half years passed away. Juno was the only pet that was entirely mine my entire life. The women who assisted me at Mercy was truly a blessing. She helped me with arranging the cremation of Juno with grace and the appropriate amount of empathy. When she saw I was close to tears she immediately became somber and guided me to press on with the paperwork involved. I left Mercy less saddened than when I had arrived. Considering the situation I think it was nothing short of a miracle. Thank you Mercy Crusade.

They told me my amount and when I asked what was done with the spay they told me I would have to wait. They couldn’t tell me what they were charging me for the that person was at lunch. They then had me wait untill after 5pm. people who came after me checked out and left.

Experiencia positiva: 1st visit, new pet. Walk in shot clinic was fast. Update shots, microchip & nail trim. 30 min tops. The tech was very rushed, a bit rough, scaring my little dog. The nail trim was so fast & rough, not very careful, nipped the quick on more than a few nails. My dog was freaked, peed everywhere. She never does that. 2nd visit, shot & nail trim again. Wow, hmm. My dog clearly remembered, was shaking, fearful. I was holding her on my lap, she would have been fine but the tech muzzled her!! That put her OVER THE EDGE! Complete freakout meltdown! She was trying to get out of the muzzle so badly she was severely choking herself & would not calm down. I thought she was going to have a stroke or pass out from choking! The shot was quick, but once again the nail trim was fast, careless and cut too low on several nails, leaving her bleeding again on more than 2. Trying to get in for Dr appointments is difficult, waiting months for an opening. She is being spayed in 2 weeks. I'm a bit apprehensive & uneasy about taking her considering how our 2 prior visits were. Unfortunately being a senior there are not a lot of other low cost spay options local I can afford.

Experiencia fantástica: I've been going to Mercy Crusades for decades now and it has always been a pleasure. They make things simple, quick, and are the most reasonable around. Majority of the staff have been there for a long time which really says a lot about the overall morale which is completely apparent. There is one staff member who I know hasn't been there very long that seems to have a bit of an attitude problem, poor communication skills, and just complete opposite as the rest of the lovely staff. Can't win them all I suppose, either way, I love Mercy Crusades. Thank you for all that you do! ❤️

Experiencia negativa: Don’t waste your time with Feral cat spay and neuter unless you want to deal with the lack of information. I recently tried to participate in the feral cat spay/neuter release program and was deeply disappointed with the process. The system is flawed and, unfortunately, seems to contribute to the kitten population rather than control it. Here’s a breakdown of my frustrating experience: Thursday: I walked explaining I have had a feral cat and her 6 kittens confined to a room so she could be fixed and released back to her community because she gets pregnant non stop. She looked at the feral appointments, said they do 2 a day and the next opening was Tuesday of next week. I was told to call before next week and let them know I have a trap so she could be done on Tuesday. Window C Friday: I called to inform them that I had the trap and that the feral cat was circling, pacing, and non-stop meowing. I was told to come in on Monday at 7 am. Monday: I arrived at 7 am, thinking my Tuesday appointment had been moved up. Instead, I wasn’t even on the list and was told I could wait until 8 am to see if there were any cancellations. At 8 am, I was still told to wait as they were checking in. The main issue here is that these are feral cats community members try to help to prevent large numbers of kittens. The lack of a clear process, proper scheduling, and confirmation is disappointing. Missing work and dedicating time to care for these cats, only to be treated as if I’m unaware of the situation, is not good practice. After all the effort of caring for a feral cat and her six kittens, getting to the last step of having her spayed was incredibly disappointing. I couldn’t keep her inside any longer due to her stress, so I had to let her go. Both her and her mom stay pregnant with minimum 4-6 kittens every-time. Her mom is on litter number 8 and walking around the community pregnant again. This experience has deterred me from ever trying to help with this program again. The system in place is simply not worth the stress. I hope they can improve their processes to make it easier for caring community members to help control the feral cat population effectively.

Experiencia fantástica: We called to ask for information about neutering our dog, left our contact details and when they returned we made an appointment for the following week. On-site service to open the form was quick and organized. When we returned to pick up our dog, the administrative service was a little disorganized, but in the end it worked. The veterinary team was super attentive and helpful. Our dog recovered very well from the surgery.

Placed all patients to the side & blocked Panzer’s vision due to the fact that he doesn’t get along with other dogs. They tended to Panzer’s medical needs & explained necessary procedures & medical needs I have to follow so Panzer gets well. The staff is courteous, patient & knowledgable every time Panzer is seen. Will try hard to get Panzer seen as soon as possible & if an earlier appointment becomes available, they will contact me.

Experiencia fantástica: Everyone was so nice! We needed a rabies shot fir our pup, and called to see if we could walk in without an appointment, which we could. Waited around 10 min, paid $18, and they got us in and we were done in less than 2 min. You must exit out the back, so I'd recommend parking out there and then walking around front to check in.

While getting an appointment to see a veterinarian may be a wait, I found it worth the wait. Dr. Rodgers gave a thorough check to our cats and dog while giving compassionate care and communication to ensure the best health for her patients. We were so impressed with Dr. Roger's, we know our pets will have a happy and healthy life.

Experiencia fantástica: I came here August of 2020... I realized I never left a review. I don't remember which doctor I saw but I had a very sick old cat at the time. She was my childhood best friend. No other vet could get her in but mercy did for a quality of life exam. The doctor did blood work and xrays to see what was going on with my cat and her prognosis was guarded. She was given fluids and an antibiotic injection and they referred me to Horizon Emergency for their Internal Medicine services. This exam I am sure bought me enough time for my cat to live with me one more year. I had to take her to Horizon for her last year of her life for check ups and medicine (she was eventually diagnosed with an autoimmune disease) but I am so grateful to have had one more year with her. Thank you so much mercy for being there for me and my baby and giving us that chance to spend longer time (quality) before a tumor took her a year later

Took my puppy for a wellness check, turns out she had ear mites and they had to give her medicine (plus ear wash, shave and some shots). We didn’t have enough money to cover everything so we were about to only do half cuz well- that’s what we could afford. However, it was really important to us and them that my puppy gets her treatment so they offered us a grant that paid half of her vet treatment. Couldn’t believe it, but because of their generosity and care, I would highly recommend this vet to people. Not so much of the money part, but for the fact they genuinely care for the animals here. Very good place to go.

However, I wanted to do a dental check up, the vet didn’t focus on dental and she started to mention other things that my dog doesn’t have, they gave me an estimate of $900-1200 for dental basic cleaning. This is extremely unfortunate that they become greedy and are not willing to help, this is supposed to be low income now it’s your ordinary vet greedy clinic. So dissatisfied. Staff is nice and respectful but the vet seems money hungry.

Experiencia fantástica: I took our dog Olive here on a holiday. The wait was several hours long. The staff was very kind and friendly. My dog and I waited outside in the grass and our car. When I had a concern they came out and checked on her. Once inside, the assistant and the doctor were so gentle with Olive. They were very thorough with me on what they were doing and why, to figure out what was going on with her. The instructions they gave for at home care were very good. Our Olive is doing 100% better and I am so grateful to this veterinary hospital. I highly recommend them.

Give yourself some time to figure out where it is because it is on a strange pointed corner with a strip mall behind it. Initially, I thought it was located in the strip mall. Experiencia fantástica: I love Mercy Crusade! Mercy Crusade is a nonprofit whose mission it is to control the pet population, which for them includes dogs, cats and rabbits. They are experts at spaying and neutering, and you can trust them. We took our 4-month old lynx point kitten to be neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped for a total of $117! That would have easily been over $600 or $700 at a regular vet. They charge $40 for neutering and $50 for spaying, and the feline IV and leukemia vaccinations were $11 each plus testing for FELV/FIV, which was $25. They charged $20 for the microchip surgery and $10 for deworming. They are very organized, even in a pandemic. They have an easy-up set up outside, with a roped-off area for a line. For neutering and spaying, you make an appointment, then drop off your pet between 7 and 8:30 AM on the day of your appointment. When arrive, you wait in line, if there is one, and you're asked to fill out a short form. When a socially distant seat opens up inside, they invited you in and they check you in, confirm the services and take your pet. You're asked to return later that day between 3 and 4:30 PM to pick up your pet and pay for the services. They are very strict about drop-off and pick-up times, and if you arrive for pick-up after 4:30, there is an additional $25 charge. If they have to care for your pet overnight due to a no-show for pick-up, there is an additional $100 charge. Our kitty is alert and acting like nothing happened to him. That speaks to Mercy Crusade not over-medicating or using to much anesthesia for these little beings. Overall, we had a very professional and worry-free experience, and I would highly recommend them for your pet care needs. Update 3/31/2023: I went for a walk-in feline FELV vaccine on a Friday at 4:15 pm (they close at 5), and i was in and out in 15 minutes for a whooping total of $16. My impression of this place remains very high.

Every time I tried to make an appointment The list was full. I would be put on a weight list but when I would call back I was On no list. Finally I spoke to the manager. He was great. Front desk employee fur spray & neuter is very rude on more than one occasion. Everyone else is nice & friendly.
