The one thing I really liked is that they discussed treatment options and gave you a sheet so you can make your decision without being pressured. We've all been there. Where they want do 18 different things for an exorbitant amount of money and we all have budgets. They took the time to explain things and made sure that you understood you had control.

Experiencia negativa: I work with animals, professionally, and have veterinary clinics all up and down California and Oregon that I go to depending on specialty. I also worked in veterinary medicine for decades. Vet care and procedure is something I am very familiar with. I have never been treated so disrespectfully at any clinic I’ve ever gone to. My duck was bitten by a dog and my normal Bird Vet couldn’t see her until the next day. The duck wasn’t broken, she was walking, eating drinking, etc. but I wanted pain medication and to get ahead of any infection while I waited for our normal vet . So I took her to this clinic to get pain meds and antibiotics to tie her over. This Vet told me that if I took her home on antibiotics and pain medication only she was obligated to call animal control and report me for lack of care. I could either euthanize her for $350 or spend $1700 on putting her under anesthesia for them to investigate her wound. Talk about a money grab. You can either do what they want you to do for your pet or risk being reported to animal control and have that headache to deal with. Good business model. I am definitely reporting this veterinarian and clinic for coercion and attempting to force me to agree on procedures under duress. Edit: Let me reiterate. I was told that if I did not choose one of the two options you demanded I choose from, you would be ethically bound to call animal control for lack of care. Pain medication and antibiotics is medical management and not lack of care. You were unprofessional and overstepped. Also let me remind you that ducks are livestock and not bound under the same care laws as companion animals. I could have un alived my duck with my own hands in your office and I would have been within my legal rights. But I was there spending over $250 getting veterinary care for you to threaten me with animal control (Not to mention false imprisonment telling me that to leave I needed to sign a AMA form). Your schemes of padding your P&L is disgusting, I wonder how many other people you have cornered with threats into euthanizing or paying ungodly fees. When we got home and I cleaned/tended the wound (Something you could have done and did NOT even offer to do) she swam in the bath, dunking her head, preening, and splashing. A very happy and very alive duck.

Experiencia fantástica: This clinic got me in for my Leopard Gecko right away and the Vet was very informative about how to prevent future problems. And she was so specific and I really appreciated her telling me exactly what I needed to do. Information that I never came across on YouTube.

Later in the day, she had a reaction to the shots, which worried me greatly. I called the clinic right away, and they told me to bring her in immediately. As soon as I arrived, the staff took her in without hesitation and cared for her with such professionalism and compassion. The way they treat my pets shows not only medical knowledge but also genuine love and dedication. I have always trusted them with Destiny and Diva, and now with little Desha, my trust has only grown stronger. Thank you to the entire team for your quick response, your kindness, and for always going above and beyond. This is truly outstanding service!

Especially during stressful and tragic times they are extremely empathetic. They always follow up to ask how your loved one is doing as well.

Experiencia fantástica: During my most recent visit, LaCie the technician was very impressive with her ability to be efficient and how kind/ gentle she was while examining my tortoise. Along with Dr.Paige Emery, My usual go to veterinarian is Dr.Sarah Anger but Paige was fantastic and I have great experiences with both doctors! Before this visit, I didn’t know that the other doctors were also knowledgeable with reptiles, but seeing how much Dr.Paige Emery knew about my species of tortoise was reassuring, and how much LaCie knew was that much more comforting. I had full confidence and trust with how my reptiles get handled behind the scenes when they get taken back with LaCie!

Experiencia fantástica: Made my two cats an appt for their health certificates for travel to Japan while on the road. Sarah the veterinarian was amazing and kept me updated the entire time as there was only 1 business day for the USDA to process the certificate prior to travel. She made sure everything was done properly and directly emailed me updates. This office is one of the few locations to process international health certificates and is an asset to the military community as our choices are very limited in the area. Thank you for your dedication.

Experiencia fantástica: Brought my leopard gecko in with concerns about a possible injury and lack on bowel movements. All the staff were kind, considerate, and thorough. DVM Anger was able to get our lil precious baby to defecate and relieve her of some built up stool. Really appreciated all they did and do. Cheeto thanks you too!

Experiencia negativa: Main front staff lady is rude to clients and other staff. Their online scheduling does not direct you to call for a technician appointment. Although they accommodated the change, she was nasty about it. The other front staff, although much nicer, is not properly trained, causing issues with credit card charges. Dr. Anger was very nice and noted in the records that she did specific checks on our bunnies well bunny exam when in fact she did not actually check everything she noted in their records. I was there during the entirety of the exams and just received their full records that indicate she did checks she did not do. I highly suggest you go to a different vet for your house rabbit's care.

Experiencia negativa: We had a bad experience with the Bird & Pet Clinic of Roseville. About two months ago, we called them for advice about a rectal prolapse in our 1.5-year-old female hamster. The receptionist said that it was very good we contacted them quickly and that they would be able to help our pet. A doctor assured us that an antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory drug would help with the prolapse. We paid $210.00 for the appointment and the medication. My wife, who is not a doctor but is a wife and a mom, was skeptical about how an antibiotic could help with a prolapse that was not infected, but was just large and inflamed. She compared it to people, who do not typically take antibiotics for regular hemorrhoids. However, we trusted the doctor’s knowledge because she promised the antibiotic would help, so we started giving our hamster the medication right away. Five days later, we contacted the clinic, stating that the treatment was not working. They advised us to keep an eye on it and wait. A week after that, we contacted them again and asked if a follow-up appointment would be free. They replied that it was. After our hamster completed the course of medication, we waited two more weeks to see the results of the treatment, but there was no improvement. We want to mention that our hamster is always on a healthy diet with plenty of vegetables and greens in addition to her dry food. About a month and a couple of days after our initial visit, we contacted them again, explaining that the prolapse was still the same after the treatment and that we wanted a follow-up appointment for a different treatment or surgery. They replied that we would have to pay the full price for another appointment because it had been more than a month. We were shocked. When we had asked a month earlier if a follow-up appointment was free, they had said "yes" and had not mentioned any time frame. We did not schedule a second appointment at that time because of their previous assurance. We are disappointed that we wasted $210.00 for a treatment that had no result. We want our hamster, Hammie, to be healthy and free from pain, but we feel the Bird & Pet Clinic of Roseville does not share that concern.

Experiencia negativa: Emily at the front desk informed me that I needed to place a deposit to secure my appointment, which I completely understand. I told her I would call back shortly and even apologized, as I didn’t want to come across as rude I just wanted to confirm that it was safe to provide my card information over the phone. She assured me that my information would be held until they closed at 6 PM. I called back within five minutes, but she told me the appointment had already been given to someone else. What was especially disappointing was that although she apologized, she placed the blame on me, saying she assumed I wasn’t going to call back despite the fact that I did, within minutes. Because of this experience, I would not feel comfortable returning. I’m happy to remove this review, but as a fellow business owner, I felt it was important to bring this to the owner’s attention.

Experiencia fantástica: Hello, My name is Tristin and I usually don’t write reviews, but I wanted to talk about the excellent service I have received on two separate occasions at the Birds and Pet Clinic of Roseville!! Looking for a great guinea pig doctor Dr Michie is your doctor!!! I have two male guinea pigs Berry (flat head) and oatmeal (crazy hair) I went there 1/2/2025 remind you, this is the first time I’ve ever had guinea pigs. I bought my boys with respiratory infections, but due to the fact that I bought them at a pet store I had 30 days where they would take them to the vet after that, it was on me. I wasn’t sure if my boys were sick or not and I just had to make sure. I will be straight up. They can be a little pricey, but the care and an honest doctor override the price to me. When booking the appointment they do make sure to say there is a ($100) deposit fee as well as a late policy, which they remind you of. I was perfectly fine with that since they were able to book me right after Christmas. Like I said, this is the first time I’ve ever had guinea pigs and would’ve believed anything they would have told me, that they’re not sure and would only be able to tell if we do special testing, they could’ve said anything I would’ve believed it because I love my boys that much and I care about them that much that I would be willing to pay anything for them. But instead, Dr Michie told me that they’re completely healthy and there’s no needing for testing unless I wanted it they also gave me a pamphlet of stuff for first time guinea pig parents. Dr Michie Also handled my boys with excellent care and love. I went there recently on 4/3/2025 since Berry had started showing signs of an upper respiratory infection. Since my boys live in the same cage, I always bring them both in. The staff was excellent they were able to sign me in right away and answered any questions. The nurse on staff, I didn’t catch her name but she had glass and I believe darker hair she was on staff with Dr Michie that day but I would like to say what a great nurse she is. She handled my boys with excellent care, answered all my questions was very thorough, even did my little boys toes for (FREE). Dr Michie gave my boys a good thorough examination, which we all had a good belly laugh since both boys had a mouth full of pepper and looked as if they were being tortured but she was very gentle even when they tried to scurry away on her. She answered all my questions as well as asked me questions on my care throughout the examination. They gave me three different medicines giving me enough medicine for both boys, but only charging me as if I got one boy the medicine If that makes sense. 6/9 I went back to the birds and clinic of Roseville On Monday, As always, they are completely professional, and as kind as you could be. The front reception is on point. Welcome you in check you in very fast. Even when there’s other customers are calling in. I met with Dr. anger this time. She is an excellent doctor. I didn’t catch name of her veterinarian associate, but they were both amazing with my boys, they both asked me many questions about my care of my boys, which I of course love to talk about my boys they’re bougie care. As per usual, they did their little toes for free and I left within the hour thank you guys so much for your excellent care and your love for my pets. I know this is a lot, but Can’t say how great of care the Birds and Pet Clinic of Roseville takes care of their animals Thank you. They’re doing so much better❤️

Took my bearded dragon who had laid a clutch of eggs first time a year old! 30 eggs later after a few days she laid a couple more than a few more I got concerned if that was natural so I took her in to be checked! Well actually it was her back. It had looked like it spine got crooked! I was told it was possibly from having birth, and her bones being weak some how it strained her back bones poor thing it makes me cry when I see it because she was so beautiful before all this healthy and very vibrant, and this took a toll on her well they did exrays and she still had another 30 or so eggs to go! Since than she has laid 15 more eggs and I believe there are more, all that I was advised to do is let her get out the rest so I have! She’s doing ok! She really has no appetite but I get all her greens and veggies and boil them and give her those through a little injection needle like made of plastic into her mouth and she drinks it and Calcium with everything she does eat horn worms and super worms so that’s good! I’ll will update after we’re all done laying the eggs thank you doctor for your help.

After a difficult week that required hospitalization, they had her records and were able to provide an in office POC test that provided peace of mind in her recovery ❤️‍. From preventative care to managing the myriad of concerns that have come up, I’ve always felt she is back to enjoying her outdoor activities and the typical English Labrador lounging.

Experiencia fantástica: The staff and vets are always sensitive and sympathetic. They care about their pet patients as if they were their own. They explain treatment options and answer questions with empathy. I’ve been here twice for two different sick pet chickens. I’m grateful for their attention to my chicken’s illness and they prescribed the medications she needed to bring her back to health.

But, my favorite bit was when they took my little bird back for a test and I could hear the whole crew talking about how cute she was and how happy they all were to meet her. They accommodated me the next day. We do not have an avian vet in Montana so l was really glad they could get me in. Before we moved l always came here when Dr. Joseph was here.

Experiencia positiva: Something happened since the Pandemic and there is a new Vet. I had been taking my cats to a low-cost clinic in Auburn but one of my cats had something wrong that they couldn't handle so took him back to Bird & Pet. Was not satisfied with the non-diagnosis and estimates for high priced tests. Took him to another Vet for a second opinion and got a much better analysis and reasonable treatment plan.

Experiencia fantástica: I was referred here by a family member who is a vet, when I needed urgent care for one of my chickens that wasn't doing well. I called in the morning, on a holiday Monday, and was able to get an appointment just a few hours later. Unfortunately, our girl was too sick to be saved. But the compassion and care shown by the tech Jissel and the vet Dr. Emery was everything we needed in that moment. I won't hesitate to drive here from Davis again, for the both the quality and reasonable cost of care.

Experiencia fantástica: The staff was able to help me register, and give me a same-day appointment when my beloved pet pigeon became egg-bound. The admins, vet techs, and vet were all wonderful with me and my little Luna Dovegood - worked skillfully and with love, made sure I was informed about all treatment options and costs up front, and answered my many questions. Luna and I left feeling well cared for, and equipped for the possible outcomes in the next few days. And treatment was successful - Luna laid a perfect egg that night!

Experiencia fantástica: We had to go in today to put my chameleon to rest. The staff was very sweet, respectful, and kind to us and our chameleon treecko. They didn't rush the process at all and let us hold him the whole time. They explained the whole process and respected our grief. We appreciate the staff and their kindness.

Experiencia negativa: The services for birds and exotics are horrible. I had a cockatiel that underwent more proper care for less at the Avian Health Services in Carmichael than she ever got here for double the pricing. I'd pay anything for her if she was still here, but take your birds to Avian Health Services instead, this place is not worth it.

Experiencia fantástica: When I arrived for my African Grey’s appointment, it was raining and the cage was too heavy for my senior body. One of the assistants grabbed my cage and helped me in❣️ Our appointment was in a spotless room, and the assistant was so kind. These things gave me confidence that I’d chosen the right Dr for my beloved bird!❣️ The Dr was in quickly, and she was very kind, to both my bird and I. The prognosis was difficult for us all to understand, but the Dr and assistant alike explained everything in detail, calming my heart and again, reinforced that I was in good hands. It would require life-saving surgery.. which we are planning, in my family, to do. We have the faith we’ve chosen the best place on earth to do this❣️♥️

Experiencia negativa: I would give zero stars if I could. I brought my sweet chicken in who was suffering from symptoms related to sour crop. The vet suggested an x-ray of her to determine if there were any underlying issues causing the sour crop. She came back minutes later to tell me she pooped on the table laying sideways and this was her way of saying goodbye. She offered euthanasia and I said no since my chicken was not near death minutes before. She went back and then returned stating she had passed. It is very concerning that this vet placed a chicken on its side with sour crop. Multiple resources online state this should be avoided due to respiratory inhalation of the fluid. This vet was the cause of my chicken’s death. They didn’t own up to it and they still made me pay the visit fee. Never ever ever again.

Experiencia negativa: Avoid taking your pet here! One of their receptionists is so unforgivably rude and lacks empathy. After driving 45 minutes to take the last appointment available for the day (230pm) and putting $50 down to hold the appointment, it was explained to me that I would have to pay another $38 for being two minutes past their late time policy. Two minutes!!! I even called to share that there was an accident on the freeway and I was a few minutes away at 2:35. I drove a pocket pet from my classroom across towns for medical care. This policy was never explained to me when I paid the non refundable $50 to hold the appointment. Late fees are not unreasonable but they are when it is not disclosed before hand especially when I shared where I was driving from while asking for the address. I WILL NEVER take another pet here and do not recommend it at all. It is likely the pet will need to be euthanized in 7-10 days if this last effort won’t work and the wonderful person at the desk said I am just trying to protect the company policy while I’m crying over the pet. There is never a need to be rude or snarky to someone that is making a difficult choice over their pet and trying to do the right thing by an animal.

Experiencia fantástica: I brought my little budgie in because he wasn’t feeling well. The front desk staff was extremely helpful getting the soonest appointment available to get my baby seen. When we arrived the check in process was easy and we were seen rather quickly. The entire medical staff was amazing as well. They helped me to understand all of my options as far as treatment goes and presented price quotes prior to performing any services. They trimmed my birds nails and showed me how to administer the necessary medications as well. The vet, Dr. Emery was so kind to my bird and handled him so well in addition to ensuring that I was educated on all best practices to keep him healthy and happy. I will definitely be returning for future services for all of my pets. There was a lot of concern/caring/empathy displayed during all of the interaction I had with these lovely folks and interactions I observed them having with others while I was there. I 100% recommend these providers. My little bird is back to his silly self

Experiencia negativa: I have two birds. A big scary Maccaw, and the kindest eclectus you've ever met. I regret bringing either of them here. While they did the test I needed. Their standard practice of putting my birds in a choke hold to even examine them is unacceptable. They would not let me safely towel my birds for them so that everyone could be comfortable. They might be good for other pets. But avoid at all costs with birds. If you think this is standard practice. There are actual only avian vets out there so you can understand differently. Do not let these people make you think it's standard practice to do such things. It might be a practice that other vets take, but it is not standard, and nor is it humane. DO NOT BRING BIRDS HERE

Each situation had been handled with care and love. I honestly believe they will do everything humanly possible for our babies. Highly recommended!!! And today we took our precious Oscar for his final ride. The staff were abundantly kind, compassionate, and caring. They handled our situation delicately and were patient with our grief. They showed our 12 year old mini dachshund the way over the Rainbow Bridge. Thank you Roseville Bird & Pet for your professionalism.

Experiencia negativa: The staff were very friendly and thorough, but the vet recommended unnecessary dental extractions on my cat. I took him for a second opinion and they did the cleaning for half the price the Bird & Pet Clinic quoted me and he did not require any teeth removals. I felt like they were just trying to get me to spend more money.

Experiencia fantástica: We took our rabbit there about two weeks ago for an emergency visit. All the staff we encountered (check in, nurse, doctor) were so kind and gentle with us during our time there, their kindness toward not only pets but also pet owners shows what a great place this is. We are very grateful to have brought our little one here.

Experiencia fantástica: My Buns was diagnosed with uterine cancer yesterday and they took really good care of her as well as us pet parents!!!! They followed up with not one but two calls today to see how we were doing!!!! I wouldn't take my buns anywhere else!!!!

Handled my sweet boy very well and were able to find the issue. Pricing was great/ reasonable and thankful that I have answers now to help him get better. Thank you guys!

Experiencia fantástica: Our guinea pig Bullitt was provided fantastic care for both of our visits, one of which was an emergency. We interacted with multiple members of staff and everyone was absolutely lovely, the people at the front desk, those who took all of the information before our guinea pig was seen by the doctor, and the doctors themselves. Dr. Anger and Dr. Pita both did an amazing job handling and interacting with our girl Bullitt. Their love of animals, dedication to providing proper care, and knowledge were on full display as they were willing to address any concerns and answer any questions we had about our little loved one. I was amazed to see how comfortable and well behaved Bullitt was in a new environment with new people. Our guinea pig certainly made me feel a little silly for warning that she's a biter!

After our experience here and seeing the level of care they give this is by far the best place I can imagine for the treatment of our little loved ones. Experiencia negativa: I went to this clinic a few years ago for one of my birds and now I am going to a different doctor for my birds I realize how crappy this place really was. For my first ever appointment at the Bird & Pet clinic they refused to allow me inside the building, I know it was because of Covid but I wanted to meet the vet as people usually do when they take their beloved pets in. I asked if I could at least speak with the vet on the phone and they said absolutely! Of course I never received a call and when I called I was told the vet was busy and hadn’t gotten to my bird yet but would call back once she had. The receptionist called me hours later and said they still hadn’t gotten to my bird, she asked if they could keep her overnight. I said no, I specifically said no you may not keep her overnight but asked them to please call me back before closing and if they still hadn’t gotten to her by then I would just pick her up. They close at 7pm so I drove there around 6:30 and called to let them know I was coming to pick her up, they did not answer this call. A couple minutes before closing I received a call saying that they were keeping her overnight even though I had said no, I reiterated that I did not feel comfortable with that and would like to pick her up now. I was told pretty much tough luck and they were closed at this point so I’d have to get her tomorrow. Again the next day I had to call to initiate a pickup and inquire about her condition. When I picked up my bird her foot was bleeding and her middle toe nail was broken off very very short, there was barely any nail left and the toe was swollen. I called to ask what happened and was basically called a liar, they informed me they had cut her nail for a test and it “would not still be bleeding when I picked her up” I had not approved this test, I specifically only told them they could preform a blood test and a Pap smear. After 3 days of her refusing to stand on the foot with the injured toe I had to go to a different vet 4 hours away and they took care of my traumatized bird. They treated her toe for infection because of the cut on it. I genuinely would not ever recommend this place to anyone with any type of animal, they are incredibly untrustworthy and in fact since my experience here I have been telling anyone I know with pets to NEVER go here. It took my bird FOREVER to get over whatever they did to her while she was in their “care” and her toenail has never grown back correctly. Please please please stay away from this place.

Experiencia negativa: This place really overcharges when it comes to birds. I spent $115 plus the $50 appointment fee just for them to weigh and hold my bird. If you cannot afford this place, take your bird to Avian Health Services in Carmichael. That's where I take my birds now and Dr. Smith there is great and she's super affordable.

Experiencia fantástica: We’ve been coming here for just about four years now for the care of our pets. All of the staff and doctors are absolutely amazing and take the upmost care of every pet they see. Dr. Youngblood even fit in our guinea pig for unforeseen emergency dental work same day instead of waiting for her next surgery day. She is always incredibly compassionate and gentle. I am so thankful for her and her expertise!! My husband and I recently moved further away, but we will continue to make the drive to Bird & Pet because of how fantastic this clinic is!

Experiencia fantástica: Dr Amanda Youngblood is an ANGEL. My husband and I have fully trust in her with our fur babies. We came to this vet by chance when our bunny was sick unfortunately she had cancer Dr.Youngblood showed such compassion as we made that decision to put our bunny down. After that we have taken both our pups to her. She is truly a god send as our pups always seem to have something wrong with their GI. She is always so understanding and very knowledgeable. Experiencia negativa: Horrible service don’t take your birds here. They don’t care about them unless you have money to pay for a bunch of tests and an overnight stay for 1200. Paid 315 for nothing rude service didn’t do what the agreement was. Ended up taking my bird to All creatures in Folsom. Thanks to my support system who encouraged me that I shouldn’t had to be in tears from horrible service provided to my bird and me. If a vet cares about animals they don’t run costs to throw at you they see an animal struggling help the pet and be more caring. Again think twice before going here places like this don’t deserve to be in business. And to this vet don’t bother responding or I will have my support system help with more reviews that you deserve.

Experiencia fantástica: I have nothing but nice things to say about the bird and pet clinic. I've been there 3 times now all for euthanasia, which is hard as it is.. But the staff has been so kind and professional. They make it as easy as possible, and have been flexible with me. I will never go anywhere else, because I feel like my pets are in the best and most caring hands I could possibly find. The way they handle and talk to my pets is exactly as I would. 10/10 service, and I thank you.

Experiencia fantástica: Brought my reticulated python in for a scab on his head. Thankfully it came off during shed the day before our appointment. Came in anyway just for a wellness visit. Staff was friendly, jovial, and very kind. The doctor was passionate, knowledgeable and very excited to meet our snake, Baked Bean. Will bring all of our exotics here from now on.

Experiencia negativa: Our experience with this vet hasn't been ideal. One of our kittens was very sick, we were almost going to put her down. We did the emergency service and paid for a kitten care package. They wouldn't give her a shot because she wasn't breathing well which was understandable. We had an early scheduled appointment and we called them saying she is still in the same condition as the first time, and I didn't want to take her in for them to say they didn't want to give her a shot again which took away from one visit on the package that we prepaid for. They said bring her in anyways. So, we did, and they did not give her the shots which was frustrating as I knew that was going to happen. They also charged me $50 for an office visit (I will never prepay for a shot package again). We ended up taking her to UC Davis and found out it was something this Vet missed in the emergency exams. I asked for a discount on an email to them and received no response from them. They feel like a money grab place who isn't interested in making things right. I'm pretty sure the employees at this facility would be irritated if they were treated like this with their pets at another facility.

Experiencia fantástica: Due to relocation, we needed to find a new vet for our feathered babies. It was wonderful to find a place that specializes in birds; the doctor we saw even has their own. Everyone was friendly and helped to put our baby and us at ease.

Experiencia fantástica: When no other clinic would take me in on an emergency basis, this clinic did and I couldn’t be more grateful. My bunny’s health is my priority and knowing that this clinic cares unlike others has converted me to receiving care from only them. All medical care is expensive but having 4 exotic vets on site means more availability and flexibility when you need it most, so it’s worth every penny. Thank you for your all your hard work docs and front desk attendants!
