Maybe I just got lucky but I couldn't catch him for the first appt and they were able to make it later that day. I know Vets are super busy everywhere but I wonder if they got more staff because I really didn't think getting an appt two days in advance or switching day of would be possible previously. Experiencia fantástica: Very very happy with all the vets who have seen my two seven-year-old husky-Great Pyrenees mix dogs. We have had some complicated health issues to deal with and I couldn't be happier with how Sac Animal Hospital has handled them - they are thorough but don't try to push every possible treatment on us, they explain everything really well and with a lot of compassion - both for my dogs and for me :). The costs are reasonable. I have had some disappointing experiences with vets recently and I am SO GRATEFUL to know my girls are in such capable, caring hands. She gave attention and love to my sweet boy. I felt very comfortable with him in her care. She told me exactly what to expect after he received two vaccines. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Experiencia negativa: My cat was almost killed because of this place not keeping her in her crate when they brought her out to the car. She got away and ran into cars and ran away far to hide inside a car. A man got her out and she couldnt breath and her paws were burned. My mom was so upset and almost passed out. If my cat died I would be so much more upset and I am thankful my mom got our cat back from this place. This cat is my emotional support pet. Thankfully she recovered and is alive.

Experiencia negativa: I was a client for 2 years until the following occurred that led to a complete breakdown in my trust for this establishment to properly give my pets excellent care. I never imagined such a credible place would be so negligent. In March I took my cat into SAH. Dr True managed her care as my vet Dr Mullvihill was not available. I brought my cat in a dog wire crate. I secured the bottom with padding. Upon arriving I informed staff of this and that a blanket must be kept over the cage since she’s skidish. She was a stray I worked with for 4 years. They knew the history. When I picked my cat up staff brought her out to my car covered in the blanket in where she escaped from them due to the staff removing the padding and not securing her properly and not even informing me or as a vet practice with supposedly great experience would know to communicate they removed the padding. They did not. I watched my cat run across the main road into oncoming traffic darting in and out with staff chasing her with a net. She then ran a block away with staff chasing her in where she went into a car engine. A Good Samaritan popped the hood so staff could get her out. She was placed on oxygen and acquired burns on her paw pads & her stomach. I had a major panic attack and was sobbing crying & traumatized by watching these events unfold. Another Good Samaritan stayed with me and took me back into the SAH establishment. While there the director Dr True took me into a room. My arm was numb my lips were blue and I could barely talk. I wanted to go to an urgent care clinic. Dr True talked me into allowing her to assess me as a vet stating she knew what was wrong with me (a vagus nerve reaction) she placed a ice pack on my neck. Told me I could go to urgent care if I wanted but in her opinion I don’t need one. Instead she talked me into having Dr Cortez drive me home while she followed. Telling me to sleep this off for the next day. My cat stayed overnight until my partner could pick her up the next day. Additionally recently my dog had a dental. During recovery his vet was out. He had what appeared to be puss in his mouth. Texted photos requested care. The fill in vet Dr Shindlin did nothing but have staff send a text that a script was ready. They did not offer any appt the next day (a day I was able to come in). Long story short we start the script. His regular vet fits him in and tells us he had no infection at all. There have been very mean rude toned behavior by staff and also upper management Tina is one cold ruthless human. This site will not allow for me to write further. See my full complaint on Yelp.

The staff is very friendly (office staff, vet techs and veterinarians). I trust them with my dogs and there are very few places I can say that about.

Experiencia fantástica: Sacramento Animal Hospital has provided my cats and I great services and supports. I initially brought my two adult cats for general check ups and to address some concerns. The staff have always been very friendly and professional.The techs are knowledgeable and calm around the animals and the doctors are great! They are prompt with calling for results and explaining what certain things mean and the options you have for treatment. I have also had good luck with getting appointments scheduled at times that work for my schedule and aren't far out. Their lobby has a few seats for cats only which is nice. The lobby is also fairly large so it doesn't feel cramped or uncomfortable. They also have a sign that says they accept Care Credit but I have not used this before. The parking lot is also spacious. I'm very happy with my experience here especially being an anxious pet parent. Definitely recommend.

Our initial appointment was scheduled with a different Dr. We ended up seeing Dr. Hume-Smith. She is the Best! My girl loved her! She readily answered all of my questions and not once did she make me feel rushed. She truly cares about your fur baby/pet/companion and you. They all made my girl and I feel at home. Staff was friendly and professional. No regrets here.

We rushed our dog back from Mexico, they saw him right away and got him to the appropriate surgeon immediately. He has been thriving since then. Their care of the animals is the best. Their concern to communicate with the owners is great. I am very satisfied and pleased with their professionalism and care of our four footed buddy!

Here our new Dr. was thorough, compassionate and met us where we are at in the lives of our senior dogs, all 6 of them. We couldn't ask for better care. We will miss our old vet, but we don't begrudge her retirement. We are on a new journey and we know this is the right choice after our very first visit.

They have cared for our pets through puppy and kitten years up until their geriatric stage. Unfortunately, we have experienced their end of life services. They have been compassionate, loving and supportive at that time. They have been knowledgeable, responsive and runs their office efficiently with current technology.

The vet was knowledgeable and very comfortable getting on the floor to look at my dog’s rash/infection. I was very impressed with the services and being able to receive medications same day. The cost was also reasonable. This office seems like a local treasure.

Experiencia negativa: The facility was very clean and the staff were overall polite. Sadly if I had to say overall, I probably would not bring my dog back here. I brought my dog in for a regular checkup and was immediately scared into spending over $600 on unnecessary tests. I had scheduled the appointment to get acquainted with the hospital for possible future care. Since I was there, I decided to mention that my dog had been eating less for almost a week maybe. I also told the doctor that she had just finished her heat cycle a few weeks prior to the appointment. This prompted the vet to explain how my dog needed $628 to run tests for a very scary infection. She did not seem to want to stick around to check any further, she seemed very certain that my dog was infected. After money spent and tests done I received a call from a nurse explaining, and I quote, that my dog had “record breaking results”. She said my dog was perfectly healthy and there were no signs of the big scary infection. I immediately felt duped. I had to have that money sent to me by my boyfriend to pay for it. And they just took it like that. The doctor had asked questions but did not care to sit with me long to get all the details. I feel that had she let me give her a few more details then we might have come to the conclusion that dogs just do this sometimes. She instead jumped to immediately grabbing hundreds of dollars right from my pocket, which I actually had to remind the front desk to do. I had been told I needed to pay a deposit before leaving my dog and I waited almost half an hour before asking the front desk if my bill was ready. The staff had been giggling and chatting while I waited and missed the information that my bill was ready to be charged. So on top of them duping me out of $628, I also had to ask them to officially charge me since it did not seem as though they would get to it anytime soon. I was basically just devastated after the day was over. I went in for a simple checkup and went through a false life-threatening infection which the veterinarian seemed 100% sure of, charged hundreds of dollars for no reason, when I could have been in and out with no worries. Very friendly and clean façade.

The doctors are fabulous - caring and thorough - and the front office staff are always helpful. Because they’re so good, this is a busy practice. You can expect to be placed on a brief hold when you call but I have always had very positive experiences here.

Experiencia fantástica: My pup had diarrhea and needed to be seen quickly. Sacramento Animal Hospital found an appointment for her quickly. It was with a vet I'd not met before. She was great. The stomach issue resolved, but the vet diagnosed a little infected scab on her belly. Bill is always about what I expect. I appreciate that there are different vets with different styles. It is a large practice and as a long time patient my pup can usually get in quickly if needed. Great vet techs and support staff! Recommend.

Experiencia negativa: This vet hung up on me twice, third time is the charm, after waiting 30 minutes on hold to be told they are booking 6-7 weeks out for new patients. Put that in your automated message maybe to not waste people's time.

We really appreciated how cat friendly the office was and how upfront the office was with costs and procedures. It was also reassuring how many of the staff from our vet to the front desk use the same medication our cat was prescribed for their cats at home.

Experiencia fantástica: I can’t say enough about SAH. They are quite literally the best veterinarian in town. We have brought all of our dogs and cats to SAH and they have always been great. Although slightly more expensive than other vets in town, you always get what you pay for, excellent service.

The staff were friendly and patient with my nervous pup, and the vet used positive behavioral techniques and paid attention to my dog's emotions to ensure she had a good visit and didn't get too stressed. The vet seemed to genuinely care about my pets, and she wasn't judgmental at all of my dog's anxious behavior (even when we had to muzzle her out of precaution). Definitely glad that I picked Sacramento animal hospital as my vet!

Experiencia fantástica: Nothing but positive energy and amazing care. Went in for a first time puppy appointment and was impressed by how vibrant and welcoming the hospital was. The staff was so cheerful and polite, even though it was the end of the day. Scheduling the next appointment for my pup was breezy, and the doc gave me all the info I needed to be informed on the care for my pup who was previously underweight. Couldn't recommend a better place to go to! 10/10 stars
