Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Brown andcher staff were amazing. This was my first visit, but definitely not my last.

Experiencia negativa: If I could give this place 0 stars I would. They are liars and they only care about money. I was told the supposeded insurance they offer would cover some surgery and I’d pay the difference and we could cancel at any time. I took my poor little dog up there and they told me 2,400 and that was a estimate and the vet tech told us the insurance wouldn’t cover anything but the tests lol and we would have to pay the 2,400 out of pocket . Hell it didn’t even cover the medication at all. Lol what was the insurance for? I told the vet tech I could take my dog to abc clinic and pay at most 300 for the surgery and the tech said no they only take heathly dogs and they won’t take urs. They basically told me come up with the 2,400 or that’s it. So we tried to get help on facebook and everything and it didn’t work out my dog passed and after all that one of the ladies that works at the vet was in the group on fb and said since she’s so sick I’ll go ahead and forward her paperwork to abc clinic lol. If they would have told us that from the jump instead of being greedy my dog would still be alive. By the way that supposed insurance that they offer that u can cancel at any time still takes money out of ur account until the whole amount is paid which is something they never said, I’m warning everyone to stay away from this place unless u want to over pay for everything and let them lie to you and with them it’s all about the money. If I could give them 0 stars I would.

Experiencia negativa: I took my dog to this place and explained I didn’t have a lot of funds to do more so the woman I talked to told me about an “insurance for $200” she said it took care of exams, x-rays, and surgeries (that was told to me over the phone) when I come up there with my pet they tell me after I pay the $200 what I paid for doesn’t cover much that only the exam and xray are covered so I asked then what was the point of paying that the lady says well at least it took care of those to you don’t have to pay for those and then I say well what’s next for my dog she’s really sick and need to be taken care like now and instead of giving me options she goes straight well we can do the humane thing and put her down that’s another $200 and we can cremate her so I told the lady thats not an option so she hands me this paper with the total of surgery for over $2,000 I said who has this kind of money just sitting around waiting to spend that’s crazy plus I had already explained to her I didn’t have that kind of money but that’s all she seemed to care about and I will never go back to this place ever again MONEY HUNGRY COMPANY

She offered the Healthy Pet Plan and it is an amazing program! Help so much financially. Thank you Ashley!! Next we met Leslie. Absolutely sweetest lady!! She was so good with our baby girl. Odie is usually a pain when she goes to the “doggy doctor” but she seemed much better this time. So Dr Rafferty comes in. Oh. My. Goodness!! Will not go to another vet!! Such a wonderful and caring man. You can tell in his actions, explanations and treatment plans how much he loves animals and his job. He gave our baby girl 2 shots and she didn’t seem to flinch. No pain afterward, nothing! Would recommend Animal Hospital of Waco 100%!!!

Experiencia fantástica: My Australian Cattle Dog has always despised the vet, and is a pretty tough patient to say the least. But everyone at Animal Hospital of Waco has been understanding and professional with her and myself. They let the appointments and interactions go at her pace as much as possible while still maintaining great patient care. I tried several vets in the Waco area and they either turned us away or made it clear we were more of a problem than we were worth to them. But that has never been the case here! I would recommend Animal Hospital of Waco to any pet parent out there, even those with “difficult” furbabies.

The laddies up at the animal Hospital gave her some pain medicine and some antibiotics. She’s doing so much better now no redness around the incision site. She’s playing a lot more and I’m not sure how this cat gets out of those kitty suits but she didn’t like the cone either she didn’t like anything. But I’m just glad that she’s doing so much better

I was never rushed in and out like a number. Every staff member here only had best intentions in mind. Best veterinarian and assistants I’ve ever taken any of my pets to. This will be the only place I go for pet care for the rest of my life.

My favorite part: Their waiting room has large benches that my dog was able to jump onto and cuddle with me while we waited to be seen. This helped him calm down so much! (Cause even though it was our first time there he knew we were at the vet.)

Experiencia fantástica: Hi, everyone. I’m not one to usually leave reviews so when I do, it means something outstanding happened. My dog recently developed a lipoma on her front right leg which was benign but still needed to be surgically removed. The staff at the Animal Hospital of Waco could not have been more helpful. Recognition to staff members Ashley and especially Yvette must be noted. I can’t begin to describe how customer oriented they really are in helping me in every way possible…. from explanation of the procedure to a detailed breakdown of costs, which were very reasonable. My vet Dr. Hawkins who I have used for several years always does a wonderful job. He even called me at home after my dog’s surgery to let me know everything went well. This clinic is so professional but at the same time down-to-earth in how it treats everyone and especially the animals. Over the years I’ve experienced other veterinarian services in Waco. They were what I would call sterile or overly expensive. I found the Animal Hospital of Waco from a friend’s referral, and I’ve been a permanent client ever since. To me they stand above all other clinics in Waco. Try them you will be more than satisfied.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr Rafferty is one of the best Vets I’ve ever used for my fur babies. I highly recommend him. The staff was very helpful and I appreciated them working with me to get in.

Experiencia negativa: Got what my dogs needed, but it cost an arm and a leg for me. Two dogs both 70lbs, needed heart worm protection plus flea and tick for 12 months on both. Total cost came out to $1,323. Basically a property tax payment. I’d recommend finding a more affordable vet or place to get meds and vaccines. My dogs are healthy so I don’t believe it should cost this much. Plus I don’t care about them charging extra fees without telling you like a late fee for being 10 min late. Also be sure to view how they charge you. They nickel and dime you on everything. Not very happy about this place. Got charged two different fees for the pro heart injection based on weight when both dogs weighed the same.

The front desk staff, very professional and gentle, the doctor and the tech were wonderful with my dog. They were patient. They warmed her up to them and it was a very pleasant pleasant visit. Not what I had expected not quite sure what I expected, but they put us completely at ease and it was just a very successful visit we will continue to bring our sweet dog here

Experiencia positiva: I was very disappointed in the care I received here through the loss of my dog. The vets we’ve seen Michael and Emily have both been amazing, so kind and Emily was so compassionate through this. However, I was very disappointed by the front desk staff. My dog had spent the night at the emergency room and we quickly came from there to the clinic to get him back on oxygen and assess what the next steps would be. Our boy was going through congestive heart failure and his lungs were filling with fluid. Not only did they know that once we checked in, he clearly couldn’t breathe. Everyone in that room could hear him struggling to breathe. They continued checking other people in, maybe 5 people in front of us, and it wasn’t until after maybe 10 minutes when he started coughing LOUDLY and whimpering that they finally decided to take him back and actually put him on oxygen. I genuinely cannot believe they were just waiting when it was clearly urgent and they were obviously able to. He had to be crying before they took him back. I’m truly disgusted by that. After he passed we got him cremated and I wasn’t sure how long the cremation process took and I didn’t remember what the paperwork said through my grief I thought maybe it was 2-3 weeks and he passed on 4/1 but I found out he was cremated on 4/7. I didn't get his ashes until 4/23. They said they gave us a call and we don’t have any record of it, but the receptionist was pretty insistent so I can believe she did make that first call and just for some reason it didn’t go through. However I think it was ridiculous that after 1 week we didn’t get a follow up call, then 2 weeks passed and there’s still not another call, nobody followed up and my baby, as well this urn I paid over $400 for, was just sitting there for weeks and I had to call to figure out what was even happening. I don’t think that’s okay at all. I don’t know if they ever would’ve tried reaching out again or if a month needed to pass or maybe even longer before trying again. The vets were wonderful truly even through his dental surgery he got a year ago but I was overall so so disappointed in the way that this entire experience was handled. I really really hope this feedback helps them improve, I would never ever want anyone else's baby to be ignored by the staff while they're struggling like mine was. If there's an animal being transferred from the emergency room after being there all night, it needs to be treated as such, an emergency.

Experiencia fantástica: I had taken my Service dog, Chica, to the Animal Hospital, for intermitting vomiting for about 2 weeks. I was greeted by a kind and friendly receptionist and she explained there were taking walk ins today. We only waited about 10 min. and we were escorted by a friendly assistant, Ms. S . to the exam room . We were seen by the Veteran Dr. R. who was very cautious of Chica, while doing his physical examination. He took a very thorough history of Chica. He ask many questions and explained what he was finding as he completed Chica's, examination. He explained several reasons why Chica could be having vomiting episodes. He explained several alternatives for her treatment. He was so experienced and knowledgable , we decided to do as he recommended. Needless to say, my Chica was way more sick that I realized. We will be seen in about a month for more interventions and follow up. I noticed a big change in Chica's activity level by the beginning of the second day, after giving her the medication. I feel very fortunate taking Chica to the Animal Hospital of Waco when I did. Thank you June 25, 2024

I was misled to believe they were holding a cat hostage after surgery and previously placed a bad review. That person was lying. This hospital did all they could to help & even donated to her bill! Experiencia fantástica: Despite being extremely busy, with a few pet emergencies, every staff member there was super kind, checked in on us during our wait, even offered me popcorn and gave my fur baby a new toy. I have also really appreciated the fact that almost every doctor we’ve seen there has genuinely shown they care. They kneel down to greet my baby and give her love before they have to do any procedures. That truly makes an impact. It helps her feel more comfortable and it lets me know she’s in good hands with every visit.

They have helped us with many fundraising and organizations we had not even heard of before get money raised and donated to help our precious little puppy get all the medical care she needs to get better. They are very wonderful people who immediately shows their love as soon as you walk thru their door. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone who wants to do great for their pets. Experiencia fantástica: All the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. They all cared for and loved on my dog when we were there and you could tell they genuinely wanted to help. The vet took one look at him and knew what he needed, prescribed some medicine, and now he's good as new. They even gave me different options so I could choose medicine that wasn't too expensive.

Experiencia negativa: Do not take your pets here. Since 2015, and I have records to prove it, I have spent nearly 20,00.00 dollars on my 4 legged children. I have a torn muscle in my back and a myriad of severe health problems. I had appt today and called at 6 am to let them know I was headed to ER. They require 68 dollar deposit at time appt made. I offered my husband would bring med proof of med situation, refused so they lost a good customer but got a free 68.00 dollars. They are a business that has no real interest in animals .

Lexi, the tech, was so sweet, kind and empathetic to us in a hard situation. I was assured my angel would be ok, and it will be a long road to make sure she goes back to being herself, but we were sent angels to make sure she was ok. Experiencia fantástica: First time to Animal Hospital of Waco... My calico, Miss Kitty, was treated like royalty. She is always a true "scaredy-cat", but she warmed up to Lexi and Dr. Emily Highfill. They treated her like one of their own, which was extremely comforting to me when we were there to try to figure out why my sweet girl hasn't been feeling her best. Everyone at the clinic was so helpful and compassionate. I'm so grateful for everyone that helped us out that day and even though I hope not to have to return, I at least have the comfort of knowing that Miss Kitty will receive the utmost care and loving treatment in all of Waco, TX. Experiencia fantástica: We are on a cross country trip for 30 days and our Yellow Lab got really sick. We googled vets to go to and this one got great reviews. So we called and without hesitation they were able to get us in. The staff was kind and Dr Rafferty without hesitation stayed until he could figure out what to do for our girl. She is on the mend and doing well and can’t thank everyone enough for their kindness. I would highly recommend this vet. Thank you

Experiencia negativa: ZERO STARS. If you want a vet office that judges and smirks at you for not being able to afford treatment for your pet this is the vet office for you! I called the morning of 4/10 and was met with compassion and sympathy over the phone when explaining our pets health situation, however, that was NOT the case when entering the office that same afternoon. I explained in detail over the phone what we’ve been dealing with for the past year and a half with previous vets and how no treatment has been giving our fur baby relief. There has been no medication or treatment plan that has worked for him thus far. We’ve watch him suffer and change in behavior drastically and while we value and love our pets there’s only so much we can realistically afford (unlike humans dogs do not have the same health coverage with in regards to insurance because that’s a route WEVE ALREADY TRIED). Our dog is suffering with what is beyond your typical seasonal allergies. It’s constant scratching year round that has caused him to lose a lot of fur and be covered in sores. To avoid this this we’ve learned if we kept him in a small enough kennel expect to use the potty which keeps him from having the ability to scratch himself to the point of bleeding (Not to even mention the cancerous growth that appeared on his muzzle that I didn’t even get the chance to show either) This has helped but has never been meant to be a long-term solution as we were hopeful some treatment from the vet would work eventually. Our family has seen his behavior change and his desire to isolate himself since the worsening of his condition. Due to his uncomfortability it has now turned him into being aggressive at home with our other dog whom he previously LOVED to play with. Having three small children under the age of six and one on the way I would not consider that to be safe. Sure bringing him in he probably perked up as he was with family who he loves and trusts and is having a break from his kennel that out of his own safety we keep him in however as pet owners it’s our responsibility to be their advocate and their voice as WE are the ones who know our pet the BEST. With an already very tough gut wrenching decision to consider this was not one that was made quickly without prayer and months of considering and getting other opinions on to humanely stop the suffering and lack of quality of live of our very loved dog after a year and a half of following treatment plans that have failed continuously from two other vet offices to then show up at this one, pre pay almost $300…..to then be given very judgmental dirty looks by all of the office staff who didn’t even give the time of day to even look at our dog up close enough to see his sores or growth on his nose (mind you. No. he is not at his worst condition since we’ve figured out a way to alleviate him scratching himself to the point of havning no fur and constantly bleeding) to then be told we were just euthanizing out of “convenience” and also if we cannot afford to take care of our dog then we should just take him to the already severely overcrowded shelter where perfectly HEALTHY thriving happy dogs are being put down alone and scared and not being with family who love and adore them is the most insulting thing to EVER be told.

Experiencia negativa: This place is only out to make money off of sick animals. They clearly have no heart or concern for my fur baby with no quality of life. I’ve been dealing with his health problems for over a year and have done everything I can for him and have reached a point of not being able to watch him suffer like this anymore. The staff made me feel horrible and told me if I can’t afford to care for him to drop him off at the humane society. They said that they would just want to keep experimenting with my poor baby. Please find other care for your animals that will actually put their needs first.

Experiencia negativa: Honestly feel as if they don't know what they are doing. Never help corrected the initial issue, tried to charge me for additional stuff, then tried to get me to come back in 2 weeks. Not to mention check in and check out took for ever, for sure not going back to this location. They try to squeeze you for every dollar you have and then some all to tell me to come back in two weeks to screw me again. Don't recommend this place to anybody

Experiencia fantástica: This is our go to place for our pets, pricing is not bad since they will work with you on that. Unfortunately it is not walk in anymore HOWEVER they do have some same day appointments if you look. The staff are caring, friendly, and helpful as well as the vets! They also have great communication and explain things out for you so you are not left in the dark on whats going on with your fur babies. Thank you staff for helping us with our fur baby!

Experiencia fantástica: Incredibly expensive! We spent well over $800. I realize that dealing with an animal is very very hard, however, this is just robbery. We love the care and the vet we had was very nice and thorough, it's the price that I'm griping about. That's a bad bad thing to know that you're being taken advantage of because if you're a little puppy being so sick. By the way those are due who are reading this our dogs came back home just fine. Experiencia fantástica: They were able to get my dog in for an appointment the same day. We were in and out quickly and on time. The techs were friendly and professional. The doctor was kind, direct, and treated my dog effectively. I thought the cost was reasonable. I have no complaints and would go back again.
