Experiencia fantástica: We had a big decision to put our 3 year old baby down. Called the office Saturday 02/28/26 and the front desk girls was so caring and helpful. We than went into the room where Dr. Matthew Braunschmidt came in and talked to us and explained what to expect and what he was going to do. We felt the most compassion as if Flaco was their dog too. Great job to the Dr. and staff. 10 out of 10

Experiencia negativa: Very disappointed with this place the guy told my wife to surrender our dog cause we couldn’t afford a high price and going to them will be cheaper I’m sorely mistaken who says that we’re trying to get help to see what’s going on had this dog for 13 years how dare him say something like that cause he’s having a bad day don’t take it out on other people if he don’t like his job find another one people aren’t going to put up with it better business bureau will be hearing about this incident as well it’s not about the price to be seen we explained the price of another vet who’s trying to charge a lot 3 racks hoping to find a second opinion for couple teeth to be pulled wouldn’t of left any review but given the circumstances how this guy talked to my wife well here we are

Experiencia fantástica: Christmas eve, they took us as an emergency. We have a semi feral that lives with us part time. Suffered a serious injury. They squeezed us in, treated his injuries. I wish they had room to accept us as a permanent client. We have been with PSAC for 40 years but the new docs run it like a part time business. Can't ever get in to see them at psac, then the visits are so rushed. Thank you for caring for our fur baby. He was taken from us when he was a kitten by someone in public housing behind us before his first vet visir. Likely never seen a vet until now. We will eventually get him fixed and chipped but we never know when he comes around

Experiencia negativa: Pretty sad that you have been a customer of Mesa Vet for over 40 years and you have to either wait months to get in or pay an emergency fee. We used to be able to talk to our Vet! They cared! They would call us to talk about care. We used to be able to make an appointment that was not 3 to 6 months out. I will be finding another vet for my fur babies! I do have another Vet Clinic in Ohio when we are there for 6 months. The difference is I can call them up and get in that very day or at least within a week with no emergency fee. I Know our Veterinarians are busier than they were 40 years ago but apparently longevity as a customer means nothing these days. All we wanted was an appointment say within a month. I guess that is too much and we will be changing Vets after 40+ years.

Experiencia fantástica: Someone asked me yesterday (Thanksgiving),.what I was thankful for...and it didn't take me but a second to answer. If it wasn't for Dr. Matt Braunschmidt, my lilly dog wouldn't have lasted an extra seven years! She was fifteen and had a great life... Thank you good Sir.

Stephanie was wonderful on the phone when I scheduled my dog’s appointment very sweet, patient, and knowledgeable, which really helped calm my nerves and concerns. Lisa checked me in when I arrived and was just as kind and welcoming. The services are a bit pricey, but the customer service truly stands out. Overall, very happy with my visit!

Experiencia negativa: If I could leave zero stars, I would. My dog had a seizure and was actively dying so I rushed her to this vet since they were the closest and they refused to see or treat my dog because they're not an emergency clinic. They watched my dog die in my arms while I was giving her CPR and they refused to do anything. Then when my husband yelled what are they good for, they called the cops on us. They said there was no emergency vet and that the urgent care didn't open for a couple more hours. I later found out this was untrue. Don't take your pets here if you value animal lives. These people are cruel and inhumane.

Experiencia negativa: They did surgery on my dog, I paid extra for the cone.On pick up they gave me my dog in one hand and the cone in the other. I said should he have it on she said not right at this moment but probably tomorrow. Well today he's licking his stitches and won't let me put the cone on him. But The the price was cheap. Update i took the cone back and they put it on my dog the wrong way, causing a laceration across his throat. He almost died from this. The shock to see blood running down a cone. When I took him back they argued with me and said it was my fault somehow. Long story short, my dog had to have 3 layers of stitches in his throat to put him back together when I asked for photos of his operation and the botched neuter surgery she said ill email them to you, I took my phone out to take pictures of the doctor's computer and she turned it off before I could. Then asked what could I pay for the surgery?

Experiencia fantástica: Been a patron of there clinic for small and large animals for over 30 years. Was founded by some of the best vets in Colorado and continues that tradition to this day. Support staff and pharmacy is really on the ball. Will always great you with a smile, empathy and the best care around.

Experiencia fantástica: My cat had cancer and couldn’t last another day. They stayed open to accommodate us and were very kind and compassionate. They did not rush us and did everything to reassure us it was the right time for her. They treated us and our cat with kindness and give her dignity in her last moments. God forbid you are in need of this service, but if you should, I would recommend them. I’m sure other vets are great as well, as they all have incredible compassion but this is my only experience with this, in this town. The whole staff was great and there were no complications. What else can you ask for in that situation. We are grateful to have had them at our side during such an awful time in life. We whole heartedly thank them.

Experiencia fantástica: I took my cat in on Friday for his wellness visit and Dr Fitzgerald was an excellent vet! He thoroughly checks my cat out and recommends what's best for him. He's honest and I trust him to take care of my cat as he's the vet that cares for him every year. I just love Mesa vet! The entire staff is great and all work well together which you'll notice the minute you walk in. I'll only go to Mesa vet for all of my veterinarian needs! They are the BEST!!

Experiencia positiva: Tiffany Barr and Dr. Matthew (?), who cleaned my pup's teeth, are exceptional. They seem a bit overwhelmed but this is the norm anymore, after covid. P. S. My dog developed heart valve problems after having his teeth cleaned and I was very suspect that they were cleaning his teeth without any antibiotics in his system the fight bacterial spread from the cleaning to his heart. If I could do it all over again I would try to go to a dentist especially for dogs and only if they gave him some antibiotics before they operated on them. There is no way for them to keep the bacteria from a dog's gums from going into their system. Suction during cleaning is not enough. I feel like my dog is old before his time because of this. I hear there is a very good vet dentist up in Colorado Springs. I honestly wish I had gone there. Not that the people at Mesa vet aren't nice but they need to go that extra mile for the dog's sake.

Experiencia negativa: After 4 years here in Pueblo I still can't get service from this place. Not even emergency; too booked up. Would not even euthanize my cat. Have to be member or previous patient. Poor little kitty died the next day. My regular vet doctor was too busy also. Only got busy signal when I tried to call for help. I get it. Not enough vet in this town.

Experiencia negativa: Mesa Vet has gone downhill significantly. They used to provide equally compassionate care for both dogs and cats, but over the last few years they treat cats and cat owners horribly. They outright lie about appointment times and dates and refuse to take accountability. The vets promise one thing and the admin team says another. We have been clients for over 20 years for dogs, cats, horses, and goats and this kind of behavior is so upsetting. We arrive early for appointments and wait for well over an hour without an update only to be told that our appointment time isn’t for another ten minutes (which no one bothered to mention that when we checked in). This is after the appointment was magically rescheduled for two weeks after it was initially supposed to happen. The desk team and scheduling staff should be ashamed, and the vets should ensure that the care they take extends past the exam room to the rest of their team.

I am truly grateful that I am able to take my pets in to see them and get great service. The front desk staff is also wonderful always kind and courteous and very helpful.

Experiencia fantástica: Just wanted to say how grateful I am for Mesa Vet and remind pet owners the importance of learning the heimlich maneuver for your cat and/or dog! Saturday evening (of 07/2024) my cat began choking. She was foaming at the mouth while simultaneously trying to gasp for air and spit out the kibble. At the time I didn't know that was what was exactly happening but I knew she couldn't breathe. In those moments I did figure she had something stuck in her throat and panic overcame me because I knew I had no idea how to help a choking cat so I did what I'd do for a choking toddler. It wasn't working and she went limp and her body relieved (she peed everywhere) My son immediately ran outside and called his dad for help- my husband came in and performed CPR to his best ability and my cat regained some consciousness - we rushed out the door and drove as fast as we could to Mesa (we are about a 5 minute drive) I thank God there was still a vet tech there and one pulling in the parking lot I explained my cat is choking and can't breathe and they quickly rushed her in. She was stabilized, put on oxygen, and they phoned the vet who so graciously made a drive to the office to assess our baby. Our sweet girl was saved, comforted, and prescribed medicine. Mesa Vet called the next morning to check in. I can't express my gratitude. It was a very scary situation. I've had my girl for over 13 years - she is the best, sweetest kitty and I owe the vet techs and the doctor a huge, HUGE thank you for keeping her here with us. ❤️ Mesa truly does care about our pets and does their best to care for them!

Experiencia fantástica: Love Mesa Vet. They are struggling with staffing like so many places in the state and country but we always use for urgent and emergent visits for our 4 dogs and have had excellent care. Staff is knowledgeable and take time to explain and answer questions instead of rushing you out. Dr. Matt saved our dog a few years ago. He had SBO, was vomiting profusely and required emergency surgery to remove the object he had ingested. We did not have time to get to Springs and glad we did not as the care at Mesa goes above and beyond. They treat their patients like family.

Experiencia negativa: Our family has used Mesa for almost 10 years and have always been grateful for the genuine concern and care from the staff for our fur babies. Over the past 2 days there has been some confusion over services offered by the clinic, and we have worked with Stephanie to help us clear up the confusion. She has been absolutely dreadful to deal with. I'm not sure if she has had a rough week, because it happens and sometimes its difficult to compartmentalize, but we are shocked and disgusted with her ongoing behavior. We acknowledge that there may have been a misunderstanding when we scheduled our appointment a few months ago, but please do not berate us and speak poorly of your coworkers while attempting to find a solution. We are leaving 2 stars because we still absolutely adore the medical staff, but we are concerned about their representation.

Experiencia negativa: !!!!! Not Accepting New Patients !!!!! Please find a different vet this one won't/can't help you . After more than a decade of going here when my wife took our cat who has been seen before in on Monday morning at opening with a broken leg she was told that they aren't accepting new pets and that we weren't in the system even though she didn't check the system. She seemed like she just didn't want to help my wife or had something against her due to my wifes last name and a prior home owner named Chad Johnson that doesn't like us. Having spent over 10k here and coming here for over a decade I'm surprised of this treatment. Unfortunately I'll have to refer my friends,neighbors and family to Fowler in the future. I have a list of good vets with professional staff that you can trust will help you and are accepting new patients unlike Mesa so reach out to me if you need it .

Experiencia fantástica: They were very helpful and empathetic towards me and my Shelby dog. I had a difficult decision to put my 15 year old Lab down. It one of the most difficult times of my life. The front office staff treated me respectfully and helped me and my pet to be comfortable until the Dr. came in. I was given all the time I needed to say goodbye to Shelby. I’m extremely satisfied with their care. I will still bring my chocolate lab to them for care! I refer others to them all the time!

Experiencia fantástica: I want to express my gratitude to Mesa Vet Clinic. Backstory: My own vet didn't have any openings until 9 days away but told me my cat needed to be seen ASAP - I took her to ER vets THREE TIMES. The Pueblo ER turned her away because they were too full, and the ER clinic in Colorado Springs made me wait endlessly. The first day I waited until they sent me home, the second day I waited over 4 hours and was never seen by any vet... So, this morning around 7:30am I started rapid-fire calling every vet in Pueblo and leaving messages asking if ANYBODY could see her before 9 days out. I called 10 vets, and of those that I left messages with, only Mesa Vet called me back. I was able to get a referral to a clinic in Canyon City called Rose Veterinary Hospital who gave me a 3pm appointment the same day. So, I want to show how much I appreciated the call back. Thank you, sincerely.

Experiencia positiva: The doctors and vet techs are always fantastic and caring. It takes a LONG time to get an appointment because they're the best vet in the area, but you can ask to be put on a cancelation list as well. If you can't pay for vet care, ask them about their fund to help needy pets.

After losing my vet of 20 yrs a couple of years ago, I was lucky enough to join Mesa in 2021 I met Dr. Barker today, and let me tell you what a wonderful vet/man he is. He took the time to explain over the phone and even came out to see me when his lovely staff were able to get my 2 dogs in at the last min Over the last two years, I have been met with super staff and much kindness even when we I had to put my Maggie down almost a year ago Thank you, Dr. Barker for being very kind to me and for going above and beyond for my kids

Experiencia negativa: Called last week to set up an appointment for a urgent care last week with my puppy. Was told can maybe get in sooner. Just call monday and get on the list.and wait in parking lot for my spot in line. I guess a QUE in line.Well. I drove 30 minutes to the vet clinic. Called and they specified the urgent care is closed already for the day. I called at 7:40 a.m. they open at 7:30! Wish i was informed before waisting gas and time on my day off that they cannot accept anymore. Also was informed by the phone reception that “WE CAN TRY AND DO AN AFTER HOURS” Sorry mesa vet!! Your telephone recepts kinda stink. Also your scheduling! I keep getting notifications that my dog is due. So when i call. RECEPTIONIST:: “not till march of 2024”

Experiencia fantástica: Thank you Doc Matt and the gang with our sweet doggie! We had to bailout yesterday but had a beautiful experience with Mesa and doc Matt , after hours emergency style. They took great care of our girl and were supportive, clear, and amazingly helpful in every way!

Experiencia positiva: Very nice staff but seriously over extended. Our dogs were due for shots.....called in early July (and this IS our regular vet) and appointment wasn't available until January. We didn't feel we could wait that long to get our pups taken care of and had to go to a different vet.

Experiencia fantástica: After our first visit to Mesa Vet, we finally found a practice that cared and made us feel at home! After this initial encounter the vet called a couple of days later to see how our dog was doing. The care was always excellent with the techs and vets listening to us, then presenting options and letting use choose her care. When our dog was diagnosed with diabetes, I spoke to one of the vets every other day for eight weeks trying to stabilize the condition by adjusting her insulin dose; this was only accomplished by working together. Sadly we had to say goodbye to our girl, and everyone at Mesa Vet did as much as they could for us: the receptionists were caring and made notes, the tech and vet that we knew best accommodated us when we arrived at the clinic and were compassionate giving us all the time we needed while following the requests I had only made on the phone, and the reception staff was again very compassionate when I picked up her ashes. They made one of our worst days better with their kindness. Mesa Vet is the only clinic in Pueblo that has been open during the entire pandemic, and the staff need to be recognized for the quality care they provide for all of our pets! They are the only place I will bring my future pets.

Experiencia fantástica: Mesa Vet has helped me in a jam more than once. This time, I needed to bring in one of my ranch dogs after a tangle with a neighbors dog. It was pretty bad and needed stitches. They got me in on a Saturday. Ryver was in and out under 1.5hr. It didn't cost me an arm and a leg. They were kind, courteous, and compassionate. Best vet for me. I appreciate your team, Mesa.

They might be busy and booked on appointments but some of us have to understand they can only do so much for Southern Colorado being a small vet clinic. They are worth my patience and understanding being a client since I was little. We can't get everything we expect. When I was in there their phones were constantly ringing while the staff stood super busy on the phones and with us clients in the lobby. It's amazing what they do and still provide care and kindness! My babies hate going in but I trust the staff with them. Keep doing a great job guys and gals!

Had to take our dog back the next day after having surgery and got her in right away and didn’t even charge us for her to be seen. I would not take my fur babies anywhere else but to Mesa vet. Experiencia fantástica: Dr.Fitzgerald is a godsend! He has helped me with my cocker spaniel since he was a pup. He’ll try to do things at the least expensive but effective option. He has always called me back when I’ve needed advice over the phone. Doesn’t make me go in every time to have an exam first like some places. He just did a surgery on my baby that he doesn’t even normally do but understood my situation and was willing to do it for me and he took his time with him! I could not express how thankful I am to have him as my dog’s vet. Would recommend you see him. Shoniqa at the front desk has always been amazing as well!

Experiencia positiva: They have always been great when 2 of my senior dogs where getting end of life care. Just called this morning for an appointment for my pup and they told me they were booked out until September. But the could book an appointment for urgent care for next week. Would be 108 for the Urgent visit plus exam fees. Interesting you can’t book a regular appointment. But they will book an urgent care visit for the following week at 3x the cost. Very sad.

Experiencia negativa: Extremely disappointed. Called with my cat who is sick and labored breathing for a quality of life discussion and was declined aid since I was not already a patient. If you're advertising aid in emergencies, I would hope to receive some kind of help.

Experiencia fantástica: Their emergency room saved our kitty with bladder stones. He was with them for over a week and their prices were fair and the vets were professional, realistic, and caring. The wait times were a problem but I think they have gotten better recently. Would highly recommend to anyone in need of animal care.

I have been to several others before them and there is a big difference in the service and knowledge these people offer over the others. I find their prices reasonable. I highly recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: Mesa vet clinic is completely amazing. Wonderful office staff, techs, and vets—we love everyone. They take such good care of our cat and dog every time, with excellent treatment, pricing, and communication. I couldn’t recommend them more.

Experiencia negativa: After several hundred dollars in tests, antibiotics, and an X-ray we were told our dog had a possible parasite, an enlarged heart, and an enlarged liver. They wanted him to return for follow up lab work. We were not provided with the X-ray or the results in his medical records so we aren’t even sure if they were done. Following a chicken and rice diet, an antibiotic, and steroid that they suggested, we had no results and continued to decline. We decided to get a second opinion and turns out it’s CANCER! My dog was misdiagnosed and hundreds of dollars in tests are missing from his medical record…. We truly feel like Mesa vet did a huge disservice to our dog after talking through medical records with a different veterinarian. They lost my service and we will be spreading the word about our experience with Mesa vet.

Experiencia fantástica: Love everyone here! They have always been available when I needed them, even at 3am! I get my cats prescription food there since my baby got sick and had to have surgery that he fully recovered from.

Experiencia fantástica: I have had only one appointment there over two years ago but called this week for advice regarding an 18 days old puppy who was having some tummy issues. The young lady was very responsive and gave me information she received from the vet. Extremely helpful and even recommended mobile vet if I did not want to bring the baby in due to age and exposure to other dogs as she was not vaccinated yet. She even called me back later in the day to see if the puppy was better and offered me an appointment that day. I will be calling tomorrow as she is still fussy. Outsert why the negative reviews regarding redness but NOT my experience

Experiencia fantástica: We had to make the hard choice of saying goodbye to our girl and we just couldn’t stand to watch her suffer another night…they got us in on emergency basis and they were so incredibly kind. The whole thing was sooo much easier with them. They were so good with both us and our girl. Thinking of totally switching vets based on this experience.

Experiencia negativa: My concerns about the side effects of a new medication prescribed to my elderly dog were ignored after multiple times bringing them up. I called when the side effects suddenly got really bad, and I was blown off and told the office would "be in touch". Nobody ever followed up, so I called back after hours and my dog DIED WHILE I WAS ON THE PHONE WITH THE EMERGENCY VET. My best friend is dead because these people couldn't take five minutes out of their day to listen to my concerns, and I will NEVER forgive them for that. Died of constipation because Mesa Vet couldn't be bothered to do their job until after it was too late. The gal who helped arrange after-death services was amazing. But I don't have a single good thing to say about the rest of the staff.

I wouldn't have trusted him to be under the care at any other veterinarians office. Also thank you for being so understanding every time I called to check on him.

Experiencia fantástica: They saved our dog Brassie. Mesa always seems to have the great atmosphere. My wife is used to a certain vet and the new one that diagnosed Brassie lacked the social skills(empathy) my wife loves about Mesa. But we will always choose Mesa first.

Experiencia fantástica: I had to put my older dog Daisy down. They were all very sympathetic towards us. They let me stay with her till the very end and allowed me stay for however long afterwards. Thank you guys from the bottom of my heart.

Experiencia negativa: I scheduled a spay for my dog in September. I originally made this appointment back in March and was told the price for the consultation and procedure would be $250. Upon arrival it was a 2 hour wait even with an appointment. I had to pay $64 for a “spay consultation” which they charged as an annual visit. They gave me and estimate sheet and the actual spay would cost around $300-500. I was deceived and would not have taken my dog for a visit if I knew the spay was not the set price I was told over the phone. The spay estimate was comparable to regular vet estimates. It was a complete waste of my time and I personally feel like a “spay consultation” is a way to just charge people for a legit 5 minute visit.

Experiencia fantástica: Excellent practice! Our 8# Maltese mix was mauled by a gsd and was mortally injured but Dr. Matt did an amazing job surgically and with aftercare. After several months She’s back to being the active and happy dog we know and love. We take all 5 pets to Mesa and trust them with all our furry family members, without breaking the bank.

Experiencia negativa: I’m so upset with Mesa Vet. They have gone down hill since Covid. I’m not sure if they couldn’t recover or their politics got in their way of providing good service. I have been with them for 10 years. In the last year I have not been able to get my dogs in and have been referred to PetSmart meanwhile a friend comes by with a new pup and says I just left Mesa vet for her shots. I was referred the week before. I feel they are prejudice against Hispanics. They always have to “ look “ at my account before telling me to go somewhere else. I have paid thousands to them in the past and I live in the county I don’t understand the shift in service. I will never take my pets (4) to them and I will never ever recommend them to anyone. Save your money they are expensive and service has always been mediocre.

Experiencia negativa: They never return phone messages & when they tell you they're going to leave a note for the doctor to get a hold of you at the end of their shift never happens ! Waiting for an email on the results of my dog's blood work & the paperwork for the last 2 visits so I can have the information about the medication & what the doctor's evaluation is..call only to find out vet.is not in..this is critical information I need because my dog is having dental work done at a different vet because this vet couldn't get me in for 3 months..ugh!

We have 2 dogs, (one large, one small), and a cat, and we've been using them for many many years because they're services are top notch. I highly recommend their vet services for all your pets, from very large animals, such as horses, all the way to your very small animals.

Experiencia fantástica: My dog got hit by a car and the vet and vet techs at mesa took such good care of him. I was so scared for my dog and they took care of him so quickly. The vet was so good at communicating with me what was going on, and she was so kind knowing how upset I was and worried for my dog. He is doing good at home now, I’m so grateful for their help. Also, their prices were very reasonable. Me and Buddy want to say thank you!

Experiencia fantástica: I have used Mesa vet. for all my pet needs in the Pueblo area. I had an emergency with one of my dogs I brought her and said spare no expense and the staff treated her like family and helped me get her back to health. They are very kind and compassionate towards their patients.

Experiencia negativa: I had taken my new kitten to get a wellness check up and get all his shots. I had chosen this place based off of good reviews from people in town but BOY WAS I WRONG! I had to wait 30 mins before even being recognized that I was there to check in. They ended up taking my cat back there and on there way back there, they had dropped him on accident. And to top it all off while I was waiting for him to finish up a man had came in. I overheard him say he was here to pick up his dogs ashes. The receptionist was the rudest most un compassionate person I had ever seen. She yelled across the room and asked “what’s the dogs name” and as she brought the dogs ashes out she very rudely slid the ashes on the counter to him to where they almost fell on the ground but of course she made she sure she got her payment first. If you are looking for a compassionate place to take your pet this is NOT the place

Experiencia fantástica: They helped us with the last moments of our precious dog, and then a year later welcomed new pups. They send reminders for needed appointments. One of our dogs is still a little difficult but they welcome her with a positive attitude.

Experiencia fantástica: Very professional, sadly short staffed so their hours are weird. Had a puppy with an unknown issue at 10pm on a Saturday. They were more then willing to allow us to bring her in for after hour care. They did Xrays and Blood work that night, they also kept her and monitored her. They don't charge up front, they don't gouge you for money before taking care of your baby. They are trusting, efficient, and extremely good to the puppies and other animals they have here. I would recommend this clinic to anyone who needs assistance with their animal.

Experiencia fantástica: The best veterinary clinic/staff I've ever been to and that's from South Prairie-North. Great prices and all of their staff are very informative, helpful and attentive to my pet's and my own family's needs, thoughts and concerns. Its just southeast of town but completely worth it. The veterinarian is knowledgeable, friendly and respectful while competently attending my concerns for my pets.
