Experiencia fantástica: This was my first time taking a pet (senior cat) to this location. I could not get in soon enough with our regular vet. Before I even arrived, the person on the phone exuded compassion, understanding and a willingness to help in a way that felt authentic and sincere. From the time I walked in until I walked out, I had positive experiences with everyone that I encountered. The space is female dominated and I am here for it! The energy and good human connectedness felt is something I greatly valued as I struggled not to cry when making decisions for my senior cat’s health. These good humans validated me, reassured me that I didn’t have to do it all to do enough and were very kind and compassionate to both me and my cat. They were also very caring and detailed in their exam and fell in love with my cat from the beginning. What more can you hope for with an emergency visit to a first time vet? I highly recommend. Whatever you’re doing there, keep it up! You’ve got a beautiful thing going on and I hope you’re all so proud of the space you’ve created together. I am thankful!

Experiencia fantástica: when we got to the place, me and my family were so nervous about our rabbit, Coco. The vets made us feel right at home and helped our bun—despite him being difficult. We cried when they told us he was okay and they helped us work through our worries. While it took a while for him to get his medication (because of an urgent problem with another animal) he was well taken care of and kept a priority —special thanks to Jesse the nurse and Diana the Doctor LOVE FROM COCOS FAMILY

Experiencia fantástica: I've been to this emergency vet twice now, once with my own cat and once with a friend's pet and both times I was seen by a doctor within a minute of walking in. The staff are all extremely professional and reassuring, and the facilities are spotless and appear top notch. I highly highly recommend this ER to anyone and am so glad we have this place in our neighborhood.

As an owner, I felt supported and educated (my questions were answered and the guidance I received was very clear). I am so grateful that Poe was seen so quickly and his symptoms were assessed so thoroughly. It was very apparent to me how much the staff cared about Poe, me, and also the other pets who were being seen today. Thank you so much:)

Experiencia fantástica: I have had such amazing experiences with VEG Cambridge! I have an elderly Chihuahua and I get very nervous about her health. They are always so kind and thoughtful, they really put me at ease every time! They ensure that I completely understand what is happening, what they have assessed, and the treatment plan. I leave with the medicine I need (which is great, one less stop, especially in the middle of the night!) and provide follow up. I am so grateful of them and will bring her any time! The pricing isn't off the charts either, I always expect the bill to be higher than it is! I have brought her at some scary moments and have always left with a solution and knowing that my dog will be ok - and she has been :) Shout out to Steph P. too, extra kind and calming, thank you!

Experiencia fantástica: We had to bring our French bulldog to VEG after complications from her spay/episioplasty. She was having a couple of days of bloody diarrhea and we had already brought her to another emergency vet and nothing had improved. We brought her to VEG at like 4am and they were so patient and kind. The vet came over and talked to us and made sure we knew exactly what the plan would be as well as the cost before we proceeded with anything. She also helped us understand the insurance aspect of it as well. They ended up keeping her for a day and she was a COMPLETELY different dog when she came home to us. The new food, fluids, and new medication truly turned her around in the right direction. The communication was stellar from tests to calls about updates for our dog as well as pickup times and communicating to determine next steps of care. I will truly never take my dog to a different emergency vet after the care and compassion we received from ALL staff at 4am! Truly an amazing team. Thank you for helping our baby girl get back to being herself ❤️

Experiencia fantástica: My 8 year old Goldendoodle, Candy, loves to run with clippings from bushes and trees in her mouth. Last fall as I was trimming my Rose of Sharon bushes, she grabbed a large branch, took off as fast as she could run, expecting me to chase her, I did, she dropped it, stopped quickly to retrieve it, in the process having it pop up and hit her in her left eye. She started rubbing her eye and wouldn't open it. I had never been to VEG ER before, my regular Vet office was closed, I had no choice but to take her to VEG ER. I am so very glad I did. The doctors and staff were wonderful. Candy was seen within minutes to assess the damage, which was minimal, and treated shortly thereafter. All my fears and concerns were addressed with patience and caring by the attending doctor, nurse and support staff. I am very pleased that I found VEG ER. Chadine Ford Waltham, MA

Experiencia fantástica: My dog was having an allergic reaction, and I took her to the Fresh Pond VEG based on a recommendation from her usual vet. It was a little different from other vets in that you remain with your pet the entire time. The animal is treated in front of you, and the vets and techs are all in an open space together unless your animal needs to be separated in a private room. The wait was less than I had experienced at larger animal hospitals, and the care was great. Best of all was how nice the staff was, from the front desk attendant to the senior vet on staff. They were all caring, and I was offered tea, coffee, etc. while I waited. It was a much better experience than I have had in the past. Plus, my dog was accurately treated, and I was given a simple care plan to follow, which resolved the problem, and now I know how to treat my dog at home if it happens again.

Experiencia fantástica: My 17 year old cat was seen by Dr. Jill West. She was very patient with me while I tried to remember the time line of my cat's diabetes diagnosis. The ultrasound team was very attentive and answered all of my questions. They also made sure my cat was as comfortable as possible throughout the process. The staff was very kind and everyone said how sweet and beautiful my cat is, which meant a lot to me. Hopefully your animals won't need emergency care, but if they do I recommend VEG Cambridge.

Experiencia fantástica: Walked in completely panicking with my dog. Anna greeted us and was so calm. I don't know how because I was hysterical carrying my dog. They let me stay with my sweet girl every step of the way, explained every step and we're just so amazing. I hope I never have to see Anna again because it means my dog is sick but I will never forget her kindness.

Experiencia positiva: The staff were kind and competent. They kept in constant touch with me and even followed up after we got home. My regular vet said they coordinated well with her, too. It was pricey, but I think that is par for the course for vet care these days, and I would not hesitate to go back.

When we had to make the heartbreaking decision to let our golden go peacefully, we were given so much support. They treated us with patience, kindness and love. They truly care for the families and the animals they take care of. ❤️

Experiencia fantástica: The doctors and staff were caring, kind, and thorough in treating my cat, Tootie, who had eaten a a foot-long ribbon. They talked me through the steps of her treatment, surgery only if necessary. Fortunately, Tootie "passed" the ribbon and surgery was not needed. The availability and immediacy of VEG ER for Pets, cannot be overstated. They are truly lifesavers.

Experiencia fantástica: My pup Oscar, a 1.7 year old Shih Tzu, was bitten by a much larger dog, on Mass Avenue in Cambridge , in late afternoon. Bitten to the point his head was entirely inside the larger animal's mouth. The scary image of Oscar's head fully inside the larger dog's mouth will remain with me for years. The care and treatment we received from the Veterinary Emergency Group, near to Fresh Pond in Cambridge, was marvelous. The kindness and professional treatment Oscar and I were given was top notch. I strongly sing their praises, and you will too.

Experiencia fantástica: I had to take my pug, Frankie, in last night after she took a tumble on the couch. We were greeted right away and brought back into the waiting/treatment area, which was something I’ve never seen before. The space is open, so you get to see the team working on other patients, which made me understand the wait time much better. They did have a few rooms if needed, but majority of the space was open, so you could see and hear it all. The team made Frank feel like a star, as they all interacted with her, snuggled her, and even gave her peanut butter for being so brave! Taking a pug to the vet can be an adventure, especially for something unplanned, but I genuinely was so amazed by how much everyone there truly loved what they were doing. I’m hoping Frankie won’t be back anytime soon, but if anyone is looking for an amazing emergency care vet, Veg is #1 on my list.

Experiencia fantástica: Highly recommend. Very welcoming and attentive staff. I like the open floor plan because you can see how hard everyone is working and it makes any waiting feel easier. I was impressed with the vet who remained calm, kind, and fully present during a busy shift. He offered multiple treatment options and considered my input. I was especially touched when a staff member went out of her way to drop off medication at my home after it wasn’t available during my visit.

Experiencia fantástica: I have visited VEG many times, with emergencies of varying severities. The staff at VEG have always gone above and beyond to care for my dogs, and show kindness to my partner and me as well. Cambridge is our closest location, so we have been here most frequently but have also received excellent care at their Back Bay location.

Experiencia fantástica: Really excellent experience with VEG after my adolescent Lab cut his paw in the woods during our morning hike. I wasn't sure what to expect, but they were able to see us quickly - I was speaking to a vet in less than 10 minutes of walking in the door - and everyone we interacted with was calm, kind, and helpful. Hopefully it'll be a long time before we need emergency vet care again, but if/when that happens, I would definitely come back here.

Experiencia fantástica: Amazingly fast and caring during stressful and odd cat emergency. Didn't figure out what is going on, but ruled out a bunch of things, including reassurance that he wasn't in pain, and sent all info to our regular vet. Dr. Kim seemed knowledgeable and did a great job explaining everything he was thinking and doing. We will go back if we have another emergency.

Experiencia fantástica: Took our 12 week old puppy here for gagging/ cough. We were seen very quickly and put into a secure room in case it was kennel cough. The staff checked in with us often and were very kind and helpful. I would 10/10 recommend.

Experiencia fantástica: Wow, amazing vet experience! I really appreciate the set up of the open emergency area where you can see your pet get treated, speaks to their transparency as you are navigating difficult times. My dog Romi came in for a swollen anal gland (nothing life threatening) but she was super scared, uncomfortable and agitated. The staff made her feel super comfortable at all times. They explained everything to us along the way and made sure we didn’t have any questions. Prices are also pretty affordable! She is now recovering home. Thank you VEG ER Team, you are amazing!

They were patient with us despite stressful circumstances and they explained their approach in language we could understand. They provided regular, proactive updates and after we brought our cat home, they followed up multiple times to ensure she was recovering well. So grateful for this clinic!

Experiencia fantástica: Cannot recommend this place enough. They took the absolute best care of my dog when we came in for a serious emergency and, while they were able to treat him super efficiently (triage, x-rays, sedation, surgery, etc), I also felt like I was a focus the whole way through. The entire staff was there for me as I tried not to fall apart and I cannot thank them enough for the way that I was allowed to be involved in every single part of the process with my dog. They were communicative and warm and so capable, and they even followed up with me afterwards and kept a line of communication open as he healed. Such a wonderful group of doctors.

Experiencia fantástica: I had a cat with a urinary blockage and the team saw him immediately. I loved being right next to him when he was unblocked! The team was amazing, loved my cat, made sure I understood the treatment plan and followed up several times after discharge. We are lucky to have VEG nearby! 100% will go back in any emergency with our 8 cats. ❤️

Experiencia fantástica: I brought my mini poodle, June, here after she accidentally ingested human food with xylitol in it. With the care at VEG, June is doing well and is back to her spunky self. The staff, including Drs. Lohr and Beckwith, nurses JJ and J, and all the support staff, were wonderful. We arrived in a period of chaos for the staff, but they gave us personalized attention and took time to answer our questions. June was kept overnight for monitoring and I was able to stay with her through every moment. We were given a private room with food and water for her and a pull out couch for me, where we were comfortable until we were discharged at 3am. They checked in with us the next day, letting me know I could call at any time with questions. While I hope we won't have to come back, I will be confident bringing June back to VEG the next time we need emergency care.

Experiencia fantástica: They provided compassionate and immediate care when my puppy, Lily, ate something she was not supposed to. All of my questions were answered thoroughly and I felt as though Lily was truly cared for and that the vets had her best interests in mind. Would 100% recommend and go back (although hopefully we don't need to!).

They took their time to explain everything in great detail (my dog needed emergency surgery) and never made the situation feel rushed. No matter what, taking your pet to the ER is always sad and stressful. But they made us feel so much better just by being so kind. I was a nervous wreck and not were the vets amazing in taking care of my unruly cat but were helpful in keeping me calm and reassured me too. Everyone who helped me and Nyx last night went above and beyond.

Experiencia fantástica: We ended up at VEG with our dog twice this weekend for back to back medical issues. Both times, every staff member we met was incredibly warm and kind. They provided such wonderful service from checking in repeatedly while we waited and to providing a mat/blankets to keep our dog comfy. The doctors were diligent and testing was prompt once we were seen. We really felt like they rolled out the red carpet for us. I hope we don’t have to go back soon, but if we have to…this is the place we would go.

While no one likes needing to head to the ER, I always know that my pets will be in the best hands with the staff here. The love and care you showed our cats and the empathy you showed us humans makes us confident about any future visits. Vincent and Valentine are living their best lives after their visits to VEG!

They gave us options for solutions instead of just saying the most expensive solution. It was a great price and they handled my kitten with such good care. Experiencia fantástica: Our little dog broke a nail and I couldn't get it to stop bleeding, so I called the VEG location in Cambridge, MA to see if I should bring him in. Of course, this had to happen at midnight! They were very helpful on the phone and gave me some suggestions to try and stop the bleeding, but since it wouldn't stop I ended up taking him in. I am so glad that I did because it was still bleeding a lot when we arrived. The registration process was easy, the staff that helped Dr. West were super nice, and his paw was tended to right away. Things were explained clearly to me as they made progress with cleaning his paw and bandaging it up, as well as his after visit care instructions. I truly appreciate the amount of care and efficiency that Dr. West demonstrated throughout the whole visit. I was told to bring him back the next day to have the bandage removed, and that night Dr. Cierra Lohr and Dr. Nicole Cassale were able to quickly take us in, clean the wound, and replace the bandage. This was our second time taking our dog there in the middle of the night for an emergency, and we have had wonderful experiences with the staff here every visit.

Experiencia fantástica: Veg took such great care of my kitty!! She ate something she wasn't supposed to and got a GI obstruction (and ended up getting surgery). Dr. Perry was really kind and answered all of my questions and made the process really comfortable. I felt like my options were clearly explained to me and was given a lot of time to make a decision! The staff overall was SO great. Everyone has such great attitudes and made a stressful event easier! Bonus, they have tea and snacks.

Experiencia fantástica: These are some of the best people I have ever met , I needed to find a place open to rush my cat to at 12 am and from the time I walked in to the time I left they treated me ans my cat with the up most respect they were so kind and caring and did everything they possibly could to make her comfortable and did what they could to figure out what was wrong and if they could save her . Unfortunately I had to put her down she was to far into kidney failure but I would recommend them with 100 stars . Thank you . Purcilla

Our vet had surgery so my friend Anna told us to try VEG Great wonderful amazing I can’t say enough … Aphrodite is feeling better today thanks guys ! We loved the care we received ! ♥️

Experiencia fantástica: This past August, we had to make a terrible decision to put our dog to sleep. The whole process as hard as it was so smooth thanks to all The staff at Veg care , especially Anna. It was so hard for us to make even a phone call so she did that for us to arrange everything so the staff was waiting there for us. They came and greeted us out our truck and helped us take our dog in and stayed with us through every moment of the process and made sure there was comfortable seating for all of us so we could get close to him and say goodbye. We are glad we made a decision to go here and would recommend anyone to go here.

Experiencia fantástica: VEG is the best! It’s one of the most caring and compassionate places for our fur babies! Especially in an emergency situation! Their staff are all incredibly wonderful! I have had to go to them on a few occasions (Long Island , NY location) and they were so kind, honest and helpful in such difficult moments!! In Massachusetts , at the Cambridge office, , Anna, she is sometimes the first person you meet and she is a rockstar!! She is incredibly compassionate ,friendly, caring and right there to help with every need! VEG is an amazing place!! Thank you for all you do to help our vulnerable pets!!

Experiencia negativa: Completely unprofessional and disappointing experience with VEG. We had brought our dog over here for treatment and we were told after 24 hours that he was stable enough to take home, and continue his recovery there. We ended up losing him 2 days later. The staff over there was not knowledgeable with his recovery process, and the communication was beyond lacking. On top of everything, when we called after the fact we were practically told that IT WAS OUR FAULT. I cannot stress how upsetting and disappointing this whole experience with them was. If you care about your pet and their health, i strongly advise you to search for a different hospital, ideally one that has a staff that cares.

Experiencia fantástica: Could not ask for a better experience. Every single person I interacted with was kind and professional. Dr. Estes was amazing, and all of the staff seemed very capable. They communicated everything to me clearly, gave me an idea of what to expect and a quote on the cost right away. Also, the employees seemed to genuinely like each other and enjoy working there, which made the atmosphere much less tense and stressful than I expected. If human healthcare was even 1/10th as good as the care my cat received, I'd be satisfied

Experiencia fantástica: My regular vet wasn't able to see my cat Smokey who hadn't been pooping - it seemed urgent My vet recommended taking her to VEG ER, Urgent Care. I could walk-in & they took her right away. Everyone was friendly & professional. The spacious room was similar to a human ER, with multiple work areas for the animals & staff. I was able to see Smokey's Xray for myself - clearly she was constipated. She was given an enema & had blood-work done. I was informed every step of the way. With medicine in hand followed by poops in her carrier, Smokey's problem was solved. I was impressed with the positive vibe & would go to VEG ER again if I have another emergency. I've already advised my friends with cats.

Every point of contact, from intake and administration to the nurses and veterinarians, showed an excellent level of professionalism and helped make a stressful situation, like your dog being hurt, feel much more manageable. During my stay, an emergency came in involving a critically ill dog. Watching how they cared for both the patient and the pet’s owners with such urgency and compassion was really something special. Very happy we brought Leia here and definitely would again - Amir and Taylor F.

Experiencia fantástica: I took my 16 year old yorkie for the first time to an ER and I'm so happy i chose VEG ER for Pets in Cambridge because they were amazing from the moment i stepped in. They came to me right away asking what was wrong and took me right in for triage. My dog was treated like a princess they were so empathetic, kind and caring. If you need to go to a Vet ER please go to them.

Experiencia fantástica: This was the first time my kitty did not need to be sedated for an exam, you all really treated her so tenderly and made our experience above and beyond. It was a chaotic day and I cannot remember anybody’s names but sincerely thank you to each and every one of you. I always associated the emergency vet with goodbyes. I was dreading every second of this experience, and you all really changed my perspective, and made me feel reassured that I did the right thing coming in. Experiencia fantástica: Wow, nice experience at a vet! Parking ️ Open setting. Coffee, soda and snacks. Dog treats galore. Excellent customization for the animal. Monkey had a scuffle with an ayho dog in an open park. She wasnt hurt bad but was rattled by the event. The room was more of a small home office than a Poke & prod exam room. Door had center with screen built into the door. Wasn't hot because they leave door open after they clean it. My primary vet exam rooms are stuffy closets I was able to sit on a padded loveseat and explain what happened while they let Monkey take it all in. They took the time to get socialized with her. Sitting on the floor. Letting her get comfortable with them. Julia was able to approach and examine Monkey without issue - even lifting the jowls. She's good with females. *Monkey I mean Dr Perry (not Matthew) walked in and NOPE , better send in Julia again! Don't take it personally, even my brother can't pet her. They examined Monkey and gave me the options and opinions. Then priced it out for me to decide. ✅ Chose the least invasive for her timid situation and condition. Question answering was offered multiple times as they took each step. What meds, when, with food, wound care, exercise limit, duration of "side line" time on the proverbial bench. The reason I came in was enough to justify the price. $228+ care, meds and supplies. ~$470 If you're going into an Emergency VET, you're not really shopping for ramen noodles. It's an unexpected expense but one that is vital and necessary while educational in that you'll think twice about the situation that brought you in.

Experiencia fantástica: VEG in Cambridge gave my cat Sammy kind and professional care. The diagnosed his problem with an xray, started treatment afterwards and gave me meds for his home care. It was great that I could observe what was going on throughout the procedures.

Experiencia fantástica: I have an inconvenient hound who has made us visit VEG on 3 occasions, due to either timing or sudden severe symptoms, so I havemore experience with this place than I would like. That said, everyone I have interacted with has been courteous and professional, and my dog has gotten great care each time. They do a great job of getting info, forming a plan, and getting treatment done. It really helps that they can get bloodwork done quickly, and the vets are in charge. Not a place for routine care, but great in an emergency.

Experiencia fantástica: Every part of our experience was 10/10. Our dog an eye irritation & is 15, has cancer & extremely afraid of going to the vet, even though our vet is super kind. Our vet wouldn't come to car to do evaluation so we called Veg ER to ask if they would. They answered the phone right away & after our request the front desk staff immediately transferred us over to talk to to the doc who said they were slow & would be happy to see her in our car. (note, Im sure they cant always do this when busy :) ). They texted me preregistration form to fill out, I went inside & doc came out to see our dog. Doc was super, super understanding & nice. Saw dog, & then had 2 assistants come clip her nails so she could go see other patients. They both were also so kind & friendly. It made a very stressful time with a senior dog actually fun. I highly recommend!.

They really helped me figure out a care plan for my cat that fit within my budget and still helped her get some of the care she needed. I had to bring my dog in on a Sunday evening after she ate pork bones, and from the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly kind and reassuring. They were very speedy, thorough, and clearly knew exactly what they were doing. Everything was explained clearly, and my dog was well taken care of the entire time. In a stressful situation, their professionalism and compassion made all the difference.

Took my kitten in for some concerns I had after his neutering, and the entire team was so receptive of me and my kitty. In particular Dr Rebecca Binder was amazing at answering all of my questions and explaining exactly what they were doing and why - walking me through common post-procedure things to keep an eye on. 10/10!!!

Experiencia negativa: The people working here are very caring. The policies are not, and I attribute this to VEG being owned by a private equity firm. The difference between this emergency vet and Blue Pearl in Waltham is night and day. I will always take my animals to Blue Pearl in the future.

I called after my old cat had her very first nose bleed, from the first call to meeting with our intake nurse/doctor it was a fabulous experience. They are all so kind and made sure to check in on us throughout a busy morning for them.
