Veterinary Medical Center of St. Lucie County: Opiniones
Experiencia fantástica: Excellent first visit for my boys. Vet and tech were very helpful.
Experiencia negativa: The veterinarian appears knowledgeable and technically competent, but the experience was overshadowed by an extremely rude and insensitive demeanor, not only from the ER veterinarian on duty but also the women at the front desk and his assistant. While medical skill is important, the way pet owners are spoken to during stressful situations matters just as much. Throughout the visit, the communication came across as dismissive and lacking basic empathy. When you’re worried about your baby, the last thing you expect is to be treated with impatience or condescension. It made an already stressful situation far more uncomfortable than it needed to be. If you’re looking purely for clinical competence, this vet may provide that. But if you value kindness, compassion, and respectful communication, you may want to look elsewhere.
Experiencia fantástica: A sad first time, but everyone & Dr. Discant so kind & caring!
Experiencia fantástica: Very good emergency vet center! Always helpful and understanding for my cats needs. Thank you!
Experiencia fantástica: I took Zeus Vulpetti to the emergency clinic last Monday because I was worried he might be dehydrated. They performed blood test, which thankfully came back normal. I am very grateful for the care and compassion we received. Special thanks to Dr. Rivera for her professionalism and kindness, to Jessica for being so gentle and helpful with Zeus, and to Stephanie, who brought me ice for my knee after Zeus pulled me very hard that meant a lot to me. Thank you all for your support and for taking such good care of both of us during a stressful moment.
Experiencia fantástica: I am writing to share a positive update regarding my experience with your facility. I recently updated my online review from one star to five stars, and I wanted to personally reach out to explain why. Yesterday, I was grieving the loss of my cat and was not in a good headspace. When the cremation company arrived today, the reality of the situation was incredibly difficult to process. I initially called your office feeling frustrated and asked to speak with a manager. Since no manager was available, I spoke with a nurse named Jessica. I want to express my sincere appreciation for Jessica. She provided me with the peace and comfort I desperately needed during this painful time. While I am still struggling with the loss of my companion, Jessica’s kindness made a significant difference. Please ensure that this feedback is shared with her and included in her professional record.
Experiencia fantástica: Everyone has been extremely kind and gentle with my dogs since we started go there in 2023. I have a dog with a fairly complicated medical history, and they have answered all my questions and concerns. I especially love Dr. Farrington and the vet tech Brandon.
Experiencia positiva: The people working were all right overall, but the pricing was pretty crazy...It was an ER visit, so I understand the $125 doctor fee and almost $400 for Xrays I suppose, but then they gave my cat subcutaneous fluids for almost $70, which seems pretty excessive. And then charged a surcharge for my credit card payment, which I didn't discover until I got home. So I'm pretty angry about the cost. And then I waited throughout the whole time for about 2 hours, only hearing from a tech or two what was going on and the doctor once. My cat was in some other room, which seemed weird he wasn't with me.
Experiencia fantástica: Today we went with our little guy for a routine and skin check . Dr. Stacy Wapner and her Assistant Asia were fantastic and they took their time listening to our concerns. We adopted our little friend and this is the first time in 4 years that we found our vet. Compassionate, caring and just wonderful as well Asia her fantastic Assistant. We felt very welcomed. We will always recommend this great vet clinic with a fantastic staff at the desk. Overall an awesome experience. Thanks a million and kudos to all of you and thank you being in Port Saint Lucie.

Experiencia fantástica: We moved and had to find a new veterinarian. It is a blessing to have found this one. The team at the front desk, technician and Dr. Hall were all absolutely amazing. Dr. Hall took the time to walk me through my concerns. I feel that he is honest and does not try to "sell you everything and the kitchen sink." Would definitely recommend. Thank you for loving Kitty.

Experiencia fantástica: Today we had to put our family dog Cinnamon down. We'd never been to this vet before, but they were the only place near us that was open so I decided to call. She took a turn earlier today, and we knew she was nearing her end. Even though we weren't clients, they were able to swiftly take us in and examine her, and found issues other vets were not able to detect. The entire staff, from the reception, techs and vet himself all had such kind hearts and were so patient with us, giving us the compassion and time we needed. You could tell they were all so genuine, and that they really do put their hearts into what they do. Even through the process of having her go, they were all so kind to my family and I, and they made the unbearable process of saying goodbye bearable. Thank you so much, for all you do. Thank you for bringing peace to us and our little one, and for being a comfort to us all. It will never go unnoticed by us. If you ever considered going here, please take this as your sign to go. They really do care, all the way to the end.

Experiencia negativa: Emergency service is horrible. Front desk not very personable, nurse was nice, and said I was next 3x as 5 other patients went back.
Experiencia fantástica: The team was kind and caring and they were able to quickly find the issue with my fur baby

Experiencia negativa: The absolute worst! Money hungry, no sense of urgency when pets are in need. They are all laughing and joking in the back while I wait for over three hours in the ER room waiting for answers or even someone to come in and speak to me. I can hear them all! I legit walked out and they finally came running after me.
Experiencia fantástica: I have had to use the emergency services at this bet twice since bringing my sweet Dash home 5 years ago. Always been a great help. Tonight they went above and beyond. My Frenchie Dash had an episode that scared me so bad I grabbed him and went straight to the vet, by the time we arrived, 10 minutes max,he was acting normal. To be safe I still wanted the vet to check him out. We go inside and they were quick, responsive and courteous. The vet we saw, Dr. Fallon, was phenomenal! I told her the situation, she looked him over, agreed that I could bring him home and observe or have more testing. No pressure either way. I opted to monitor at home since he was back to his normal self. I go the the front to be told, Dr. Fallon said no charge. Though I had the money if needed, it is good to know there are still good, caring people I'm this world. Would definitely recommend for any emergency services.
Dear Kinkybear,
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience with the Veterinary Medical Center of St. Lucie County. We are truly glad that Dash is feeling better and that our team could provide the care and reassurance you needed during a frightening moment. Dr. Fallon and the entire staff are committed to offering compassionate and professional service, especially during emergencies, and we’re happy to hear that it made a difference for you and Dash. Your kind words mean a lot to us, and we appreciate your trust and recommendation.
Warm regards,
Veterinary Medical Center of St. Lucie County
Experiencia negativa: Thankyou for nothing, all you guys did was take 2800$ from us to admit our 6month old puppy to have an amputation, just for you guys to call us 2minutes before said surgery time to DEMAND another 3300$ to do the amputation & when I ask to explain such charges and such prices before justifying this, I am told to ““Come pick up your dog, this relationship has been cut short I am now refusing services for your dog goodbye”” **hangs up on me** This if from the so called DOCTOR / or Surgeon that would be doing such surgery . This was after confirming with 3 different staff members the day prior , the morning prior to the surgery just to be told bring your dog somewhere else. Don’t waste your time nor money here, plenty of better places around. Dont get scammed !!!
Experiencia fantástica: Friendly staff, clean environment. Boba Fett was not apprehensive or resistant about going with the person that took him in. He was happy when I picked him up and smelled good from his bath! It was just an overnight stay, but I will bring him back in the future.
Dear Susan,
Thank you so much for your kind words and for trusting the Veterinary Medical Center of St. Lucie County with Boba Fett's care. We're glad he felt comfortable with us and that you were happy with his stay and bath. We look forward to seeing Boba Fett again in the future!
Warm regards,
Veterinary Medical Center of St. Lucie County
Experiencia negativa: I'm very disappointed in the services here. Although they did a good job when I brought my cat in for coughing on an emergency visit, when I asked for a one time refill on the Doxycycline for my cat since the first dose worked and because I was temporarily not mobile (I'm a 76 year old single senior) and couldn't travel across town to the vet, first I was told on the phone that often cats will need a second dose if the first dose is not enough and that I could possibly get a refill and that I would be called back. I was called back on the phone and told that my cat would need a follow up visit in order to get a refill. This is after a spent close to $1000.00 on the first visit.
Experiencia fantástica: Love Dr. Wagner! She is caring and attentive with all my fur babies.

Experiencia negativa: Please don’t go here if you care about your pet. We called for an emergency with our pup and they told us to come in. We sat there for two hours and nothing. I even asked them an hour in if they could give us an update and they said we were next. We waited another hour before walking out. I understand our dogs situations wasn’t an emergency, so we were okay with waiting but not for two hours. The people at the front desk showed no compassion and no one checked on us or updated us. When we walked out and expressed our upset, they just stared at us and said nothing.
Experiencia negativa: We brought our 14 year 3 pound chi ‘lil bit’ in because she was having trouble pooping. Her vet was closed after hours . We explained Lil bit is sensitive, anxious and has history of seizures. Right away the office staff pre diagnosed her. We were finally put in a room. Two other non serious pets arrived when we did. A vet showed up After an hour or so. I showed the probiotic her own vet gave her to help her poop. The vet discounted it and it was not discussed. She took x ray and said it’s pyrometra and only surgery is needed to save her. I asked for antibiotics for now and can take her to her vet. The dr insisted antibiotics won’t help and lil bit needed it now. They would do surgery that night. It is the only way to save her. With hesitation we let her do this to save our chi. However, After surgery we wanted to visit lil bit. We were told not before 5 pm. When we arrived after 5 pm. Lil bit was alone in metal crate with cone and stitches , catheter in her arm, looking uncomfortable, nervous, wouldn’t eat overnight thru the next day at all but yet we received no call. we called them. We paid the enormously huge bill of over $3000.00 We took her home day after surgery as she would not survive another night there. No follow up call I called, asked questions but the vet is only there a night or two a week later. Here is the big issue. Lil bit had the same problem we took her in for. I called but this vet office was no help Offered no treatment We stopped in with lil bit to Talk to a vet and they wanted to charge us to see lil bit! We requested records and they refused. We do not have them still. Her stitches were still in and was to return 2 weeks. They established lil bit with a vet there ignoring we stated she has her own vet. I called to speak with the office manager, I reached an asst manager who was pleasant. She had the vet call us a week later. We’re upset lil bit was still having trouble. The vet explained she was out a week I requested her records be sent to Our vet. She promised but they never were. Our vet requested records. We went to our own vet to have stitches removed after this vet office mgr called very rudely Sunday 8 am And told us we could not come back because we said we were filing a complaint. Luckily not all vet offices are bad and lil bit is doing better. We were overcharged 3k for a non emergency issue that was mistaken or intended for emergency surgery that should not have been done.
Experiencia fantástica: The emergent care my cat received was fantastic, I was constantly updated on his condition and was treated with utmost kindness and respect. My cat was given excellent care and was able to come home in 3 days. The entire staff there was friendly and polite and professional and I am grateful to all who attended to my cat while he was there, Thank you is not enough to express how I feel about the care my cat received. the cost was very reasonable considering all that had to be done to care for my cat and make him well.

Experiencia fantástica: My little Pom was having seizures in 1 day he had 3, the last one around 8pm. I call my Vet who's answering service refered me Medical Center, I called and they said being him right in. My little boy ended with having pneumonia which took his life. He was gone in less then 24 hrs. I was so devasted and still am. Then one day I got the most beautiful sympathy card from this Medical Center, which was signed by all the staff, as well as the DR. This touch me so much, to have received this from people I don't known, but they care enough to let me know. I give this group of workers and Doctor's a 5 star rating for caring even in my darkest hours. They are the greatest and if anyone needs a Veterinary service for their fur babies, with a wonderful caring staff and Doctors, this is the place to go to.

Experiencia fantástica: My senior dog a couple days before Christmas told us he was tired and it was his time. At 9PM I called to see if there was a wait and the lady on the other end of the phone (I didn’t get her name but she had a southern accent) was so nice and caring. She said they would not make us wait even if they were busy. We got there around 10 and they immediately put us in a room to take care of paperwork/aftercare/payment. Everyone was so kind and made the process just a touch easier. Thank you to the 10PM staff on 12/23. Me, my husband, and Flint appreciate you for helping him cross onto his next chapter with the dignity he deserved.

Experiencia fantástica: Appreciated attentiveness of staff taking time to write down our pet’s meds and asking questions about his feeding and care for boarding. They obviously care about your pet’s well being and making them comfortable during their stay! We had the opposite experience at the last animal hospital we boarded him at. Very well run facility! Happy to have found you! Thank you & your staff! We will definitely be back!

Experiencia negativa: My cat had a urinary obstruction. They put a catheter in and let him go to us without any aftercare instructions. My cat ended up reblocking due to urethral trauma from them putting the catheter in and not prescribing antibiotics/proper aftercare. When I went to go pick him up, they also hit us with another $500 charge for the medication they prescribed (buprenorphine), which cost $60 per 0.2 ml dose. Avoid this place like the plague. Had to spend another $5k at another vet to surgically remove his damaged penis. Seems like there are no good vets in PSL. I recommend going to south florida.
Experiencia negativa: Multiple vet visits required to have your dog groomed. First vaccinations updated ,ok. Then you have to get a fecal! Then an exam. All ways to get your money. Rip off central!
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand how frustrating it can feel when multiple steps are required before a pet can be groomed, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify our policies.
Our vaccination, exam, and fecal requirements are not meant to create additional costs—they are in place to protect the health and safety of every pet who enters our facility. Updated vaccines help prevent the spread of contagious diseases, a recent exam ensures your pet is healthy enough for grooming, and a fecal test is required to ensure no transmissible parasites are introduced into the grooming or boarding areas.
These standards are based on recommendations from veterinary professionals and are consistent with many veterinary hospitals and grooming facilities. We truly want to provide a safe environment for all pets in our care, not to add unnecessary charges.
We’d be happy to review your pet’s records and discuss which services are needed and which may already be up to date so we can avoid repeating anything unnecessarily. Please feel free to contact our team directly at 772-337-8570 we’re here to help and to make the process as smooth as possible.
Thank you again for sharing your concerns.
Experiencia fantástica: I brought in a homeless cat I feed who had a traumatic hip dislocation. They took excellent care of him from start to finish and recommended a fantastic surgeon for FHO. Romeo is now 1 week s/p FHO and is doing great now. Turns out he is very friendly and thus is no longer homeless--he will be added to our home with 2 other cat "brothers". Thanks, VMC of SLC :)
Dear Shannon,
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience with the Veterinary Medical Center of St. Lucie County. We are delighted to hear that Romeo is doing well after his FHO surgery and that he has found a loving home with you and your "brothers." Experiencia fantástica: On November 9, I had to make one of the hardest decisions of my life — to put my 14-year-old cat to sleep. Dr. Fallon was the doctor on duty, and I can’t express how grateful I am that she was the one caring for my baby girl in her final moments. She was incredibly kind, compassionate, She took the time to run all the necessary tests and X-rays, and she explained everything clearly and honestly. When it became clear that the cancer had metastasized and there was nothing more we could do, she guided me through the process with so much empathy and respect. Dr. Fallon treated my cat with love and dignity, and she made sure I could be with her the entire time. In such a painful moment, she brought comfort, understanding, and peace. I truly appreciate her thoroughness and her compassion. Sincerely, Marion Condoluci

Experiencia fantástica: I have a thrill-seeking jumper and an injury prone GSD. Sunday 7pm emergency vet visit. This is his 2nd emergency visit from a jumping injury. He has to have his ball. All the team was helpful and provided the best support for Ares. As long as it was safe for them to do so, they completed Ares’ X-ray without sedative. I’m very appreciative they worked with him. He is extremely friendly but knows that he is 90lbs of muscle and can outmaneuver people. In his last visit, he had to be put under and he was terrified of his weakness and his loss of coordination. Even though I’m sure he was uncomfortable to be held still this time, he was happy when he came back to the room and instantly friends again with the staff. Thank you for your attention and support. He is making a speedy recovery. I’m looking into PT to support with his flexibility and muscle building to minimize future ER trips lol.
Hi Michelle,

Experiencia fantástica: We took my dog in for an emergency visit Friday night. He was instantly care for with such compassion. Dr Kendall was the most caring person! Vet tech John was such a breath of fresh air! His down to earth personality and compassion were amazing!!! They took care of my baby and I couldn’t be more grateful! Will recommend them to everyone!!

Experiencia positiva: Sam the nurse/tech was incredibly helpful, compassionate, and understanding. Dr Fallon was kind, well spoken, and patient.
Experiencia fantástica: I cannot thank y’all enough for what you did for my dog. When my dog Trixie had an emergency they acted quickly, compassionately, and professionally. The DR & Staff went above and beyond explaining every step to make sure Trixie was stable, and treated us both with so much care. She had to have emergency surgery and spent 2 nights there after. Thanks to their skill and dedication, Trixie now happy, healthy, and back to their playful self. It’s rare to find a vet who combines expertise with such genuine compassion. I’ll be forever grateful and wouldn’t trust anyone else with my pets. Highly recommend them to any pet parent who wants the very best care! ❤️
Experiencia fantástica: Our dog was sick after ingesting something that was not agreeing with him. VMC had us come in that day. Everyone was pleasant, professional and took the time to explain everything to us. They took their time and we did not feel rushed. We were so impressed with their service we are going to use them now as our pets primary vet. Thank you VMC of St. Lucie County
Experiencia fantástica: I had to rush my cat here late at night, she was having trouble breathing. Thpey took her in immediately and put her in an oxygen tank. After an hour she started breathing much better. I was expecting a huge bill, but that wasn't the case. I would recommend them to anyone that has fur babies.
Experiencia fantástica: We took our Cane Corso (Bear) to the emergency service because of an abscess on his elbow. They were quick to fit us in. With no appointment, it took about 1 hour and a half to be seen, which was pretty fast, considering how busy they were on Saturday. They addressed the problem efficiently. They were able to handle our dog very well. Great staff, veterinarian, and Bear is doing fantastic!
Experiencia fantástica: I have taken my puppy here since may, 2025. She was 8 weeks old. She had all her shots here, was spayed here, had an emergency visit, goes to doggie day care when about once a month, was boarded here several times and was groomed here.
Experiencia fantástica: The team here was amazing and helped us navigate a difficult time with our senior citizen furry family member. I am so glad a resource like this is available near me.
Experiencia fantástica: excellent warm compassion staff and vets. total professionalism with great compassion and devotion toward our beloved pets as well as ourselves.
Experiencia negativa: Disappointed to learn VMC has recently been acquired by Alliance Animal Heatlh. My Chewy RX's for Sentinel used to be done electronically. Now Alliance is refusing to work with Chewy but they informed me that they do have Sentinel on the shelf for double what I pay at Chewy. I really liked the care and the medical team but I'll be taking my business elsewhere. It's clear where Alliance's priorities are. Sad.
Experiencia negativa: Wait time is 3-5 hours staff are directed to statements repeating same thing to every client. The charges change every time you go in . My X-ray were free for first dog visit . Then came again with another dog 150 . 3rd dog $363 . Double charging and not giving vaccines in front of you . They don’t listen to what you tell them and only look at one thing . Blood tests$300-500 and prescription are added that aren’t needed or they charge by don’t give . They are a big rip off and all about making money . Don’t go there Jensen hospital is much better very kind this company is ripping off Florida residents because they know how much the pets mean to them drive the extra miles to go to a better trust worthy vet
Experiencia negativa: UPDATE: I went there last night with my pet. And the experience i was just plan awful. I was there for over 3 hours, cause they have only 1 Dr working. Yes 1 Dr. How is that even possible?. And every time I ask someone how long will it be, all they say is I DONT KNOW!!!. I even saw a guy with a dying cat just walk out. And yell im going to sue you. Again, how can you have only 1 Dr working?. It got to the point where I was getting ready to leave myself. Going to be contracting the state, and city about them. And possible the BBB. UPDATE: Shortly after going there my cat got serious sick, to where I had to put him to sleep. All because the vet would not run tests to find out why he's like this. It really breaks my heart that this place does this to the customers the they're beloved pets. They have my info there and no phone calls from the vet to see how he was or is doing. This is just total BS. I should have never took him there in the first place. I wish he was still here. I wish they really did care, but don't. I had never once herd back from them about this situation. It really shows that they don't care about animals or your time. My advice, stay away from them...
Experiencia fantástica: Everyone is very professional and friendly. From the front desk, vet techs, Doctors and the billing it makes for a nice visit. Knowing your pet is in great hands is important. The facility seems to be able to handle all aspects of pet care which would consist of regular routine care to high priority emergency treatment which I find to be very important
Experiencia fantástica: Highly recommend! They worked us in immediately and treated my cat like it was thier own!!
Experiencia fantástica: Just took my buddy Ren to see Dr. Rivera for a second opinion on a few cysts he has. The staff was warm and welcoming, The front office was cleaned and odor free; the office was conveniently located with ample parking. Dr. Riviera was prompt with my appointment time and when we got back to the room with Ren, she was kind, courteous, and understanding. He needed biopsies which were taken with care and quickly. By the time I got home with my pet and settled in a little bit the doctor called me to give me the results of the biopsies, which thankfully we’re all negative, How’s that for service and care?!! Dr. Rivera treats, both of my sisters dogs (My sis was the one who recommended me to Dr. Rivera) Cost of the service was less expensive than the place we got the first opinion from. Thanks to the staff and Dr. Rivera’s care they now have a patient for Life . I cannot recommend them more highly…
Experiencia fantástica: My dog, Gracie, was very I'll, no appetite, weak, and stumbling. I was very alarmed. I took her, on Labor day weekend to Veterinary Medical Center. Everyone, from the receptionist, the technicians, and the Vets were exceptional. They were very responsive to Gracie. The blood work was serious, as was her condition. She was admitted to the hospital where she spent 4 1/2 days. Every morning I received a call from the Vet updating me on Gracie's condition and the plans for the days treatment. I was impressed and reassured by these calls, although the news wasn't what I wanted to hear. I was encouraged by the staff to call to see how she was doing. I visited her daily. She stabilized and was released home. Based on her diagnosis, severe pancreatitis and advanced gallbladder disease, she remains in guarded condition. We are taking life one day at a time, and today is a good day. I highly recommend VCM. We are lucky to have them in our community. They also offer routine services beyond their 24/7 emergency care.
Experiencia negativa: We took our 3 year old cat here 3 weeks ago. We were told he was in total kidney failure. Our only options were 1) pay them $3800+ to admit him to their hospital 2) euthanize him We were told it was “inhumane” to bring him home. We went against their wishes and brought him home. We were even made to sign a form saying we were going against veterinary advice bringing him home. Slowly over the next week Ted improved. 3 weeks later he is 100% better. Their diagnosis was wrong and it could’ve cost my cat his life if we followed their advice. Not to mention it is extortion. Pay us or kill your cat. Before you empty your kids college savings OR kill your cat, get a 2nd opinion. I will add, the desk staff & vet techs were GREAT. Compassionate and friendly. It was the vet who was neither.
Experiencia fantástica: Super thankful to the entire hospital staff here that saved my standard poodle’s life by diagnosing that he was in a Addisonian crisis and acting fast to treat him this past weekend. Francis wouldn’t be alive today without you. We both thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Experiencia negativa: Before I get into my experience, I must give sincere thanks to "John" the technician who showed sympathy, compassion, understanding and most of all assistance to this whole ordeal. I have a 14.9 year old diabetic cat who was initially diagnosed by this place back in 2024. Harmony started Lantus insulin in April 2024, going from 3mil to (about 4 months ago) 4 mil. AT NO GIVEN TIME when we were explained how to give the medication were we told to NOT GIVE INSULIN if Harmony didn't eat her meal prior to the scheduled medication time. On 8/19/25 Harmony didn't eat her breakfast, but it was time for her medication (7:45am) so I administered her insulin. A couple of hours later she went into shock and we rushed her to this clinic. Dr. Davidson said she was stable and would need to be admitted for an overnight, there was a possibility Harmony may be in remission and she also had a UTI that we agreed to have treated. We paid about 2400.00 and was told someone will call us. The following night we picked up Harmony, they told us she may be a little out of it and may not want to eat , but if she did eat after 24hrs we were to contact the ER. Left a message twice with "Patti" who was VERY rude both times, she said someone would call us back shortly. Next morning, Harmony still hadn't eaten throughout the night. At 8:14am, technician John calls me and immediately apologizes and helped me in a matter of literally 6 freaking minutes!! I was told we were suppose to be given a "appetite stimulant" upon discharge. I called at 6:16pm to be told the cost by "Theresa" who when I said I was told it was supposed to have been given to us when Harmony was discharged. She replied in a very nasty way "Do you have the receipt saying it was paid?" I asked for the corporate number and she said, "No, you can call back tomorrow and talk to Stephanie!" UPDATE: On 8/21/25, we went dor a second opinion at Coastal Animal Hospital. They assessed Harmony and determined she would need an ultrasound, we schedule for an Ultrasound the next morning. She was brought in for the exam. Shortly after we received a call asking if they can proceed with an X-RAY.... because the Dr felt like Harmony's breathing was off. One hour later, we were told Harmony had cancer throughout her chest and she was indeed suffering and was too far along for treatment. Harmony was laid to rest on 8/22/25. Question for Veterinary Medical Center.... in the 3 years you've been charging us for EVERYTHING under the sun with the diabetes, why did you never detect her cancer? Her white cells were high enough to tell you further testing was needed but instead you gave misinformed information and horrible care. I will NEVER TRUST YOU WITH MY FURBABIES EVER AGAIN!!! You're a fraud! **PSA: IF YOU TRULY LOVE YOUR BABIES, YOU WILL NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!! IM NOT THE ONLY ONE THIS HAPPENED TO, READ ALL THE REVIEWS!** To Coastal Animal Hospital, thank you for assisting us with Harmony. The care I received from you all was beyond words. The decision wasn't easy but you held our hands through it. Thank you for everything!
Experiencia fantástica: This place was awesome. We came in at midnight and there was NO PRESSURE. Nova had to have an emergency c section in the long run but they consulted us and allowed us to try a different method before moving to the surgery. We left Nova in their hands and left around 2AM. We asked if they could call us to let us know how she was doing and if the baby made it. They did, called around 3:30AM and confirmed that both momma and baby were doing great. Nova had her follow up and BAM we were in and out. HOPEFULLY we won't need them again BUT we HIGHLY recommend them!!!
Experiencia fantástica: Had to rush my dog here and the front desk staff, nurse and doctor were all wonderful. So good that we are taking him for a recheck there with one of the vets there. Place is clean and they were really great with putting him in a room really fast. He has anxiety and they treated him really good. No one shied away from him. He's a big dog and can be very intimidating but hes a puppy at heart and just wants to play with everyone.
Experiencia fantástica: I don’t normally leave reviews but I felt this was a must!!!! My pup ate something she had no business eating, she couldn't stop vomiting & couldn’t keep food nor water down (due to a blockage)!!! I brought her to this emergency vet we’ve never been too & i feared the worst!!! Single mother of 4 kids, life kicking in & not knowing what to expect I was an emotional wreck!!! The staff got the info they needed & went straight to work!!!! Our pup was there 36 hrs & they took AMAZING CARE OF HER!!! From start to finish I could never repay the staff & doctors for all that they’ve done!!! If you have an animal that needs tending too THIS is the place to take them!!! I’m forever grateful & will use them for any of my pups needs!!! THANK YOU AGAIN TO EVERYONE WHO NURSED OUR JETTY BACK TO HEALTH!!! ❤️
Experiencia negativa: Did not tell us about injuries until checkout and argued about not giving back personal possessions.
Experiencia negativa: Very upsetting last experience. I took my baby in because he had a seizure. They took him in the back and he came back 10 min later out pretty much in the same agitate condition he went in. Nobody not even the vet let me know what was done to him or if “anything” had been done or given to him. Vet came out and said it was probably a “brain tumor” because they are common I his breed and that he weighs most likely keep having more seizures. Nothing factual. Needles to say my baby was old, however the cost of putting him down was over the top at this place on top of a $125 fee just for the examination in which I didn’t see done at any point. The next day I had to search all day for an affordable place and make the hardest decision of my life. I called this place a Couple of days later just to see if they could compromise since the was out soo much money in a nice civil way only for the vet to tell me “well we did a blood test” that I never heard of and we didn’t charge you for that. The comment was so uncalled for and so cold. Guy didn’t even say I’m sorry for you loss. If you don’t have a personal vet and their number, Make sure you do in cases like this. This place knows this is the only emergency place in the area and prices are outrageous.
Experiencia negativa: This hospital has proven to be the most disrespectful animal hospital I have ever dealt with. They wanted to charge us for the exact X-rays , he already had. All we asked if for a doctor to review his medical folder and we would pay for the reviewing fee to the hospital. This hospital assumed we are free loafers. My wife and I are not use to be spoken like incompetent idiots. I decided to take my dog to a better well educated most respectful veterinarian who actually sat down reviewed his entire records and came to conclusion and saved our dog .
We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience and that you felt disrespected during your visit. That is never the impression we want to leave, and we take your feedback seriously. Every client and patient deserves to be treated with compassion, respect, and clear communication.
We’re glad to hear your dog is now under care and receiving the attention he needs. While we regret that we didn’t meet your expectations, we sincerely wish you and your pet the very best moving forward.

Experiencia fantástica: I’m new to PSL. I’m very happy that I picked this animal hospital. The staff and doctors here are wonderful.. I made a great choice for my furry kids. Susan Angelo
Experiencia fantástica: This place was good To us. When I came to the front desk and explained why I was there everyone jumped into quick mood. Everyone was patient , and friendly. I went on a Sunday, so the place really busy. But my cat and I were treated really well. I'd recommend taking your animal to this ER.
Experiencia fantástica: I cannot express how grateful I am with the staff. Front the front desk to the vet, technicians. The kindness and compassion they showed to our family during one of the hardest moments of our lives is just beyond amazing. After exercising g a diagnosis that was not reversible and making our fur baby suffer, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to let him go. My husband was 2 hours away. They put us in a bigger room to accommodate all of us, and told us to not rush an. That it was okay to wait as much as we needed. They brought a cozy blanket for my dog, water for him and for us, treat, and just compassion and empathy. Three days later, we just received a card with his paws and nose prints, signed by hand and with condolence messages from the staff. I am forever grateful
Experiencia fantástica: I always feel comfortable dropping off my pet at the Veterinary Boarding. The staff is very pleasant and helpful, and my pet is happy to be there I can tell because she is shy but is not too hesitant to go to the staff. when I pick her up, she is happy as if she had a great time.
Experiencia negativa: This used to be a 5-star review. But things change. I took our cat, Peekaboo, in for a flea treatment, nail clipping, and shot. The tech who brought him back to me after the treatment was very nice, but she handed me a package of Bravecto. I didn't want a scene, so I thanked her and took Peekaboo home. I then sent an email, saying that I didn't want to leave a negative Google review, but expected them to apply the Bravecto, as I've always expected with several cats I've taken there. The least I expected was for them to respond to my email. But no. No response. Bravecto is very sticky and hard to apply. And in my experience, it traumatizes your cats, who don't understand why you're hurting them. Why didn't they respond? Bad form, folks. Get it together and ask your clients about Bravecto applications. The default should be to do them yourself. Thank you.
Hello Mr Croes,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent visit with Peekaboo. We’re sorry to hear about your disappointment and that we did not meet your expectations.
We understand that Bravecto application can be a concern for some pet owners, and our usual protocol is to dispense it for at-home application unless a client specifically requests that it be applied during the visit. This is to ensure the medication is given at the time you feel is best for your pet and to allow for flexibility based on your preference.
We also want to sincerely apologize for not responding to your email. That was an oversight on our part, and we recognize how important timely communication is. Your message should have been addressed right away, and we’re sorry that did not happen.
We value your trust and the care of your pets, and we will review this situation with our team to prevent similar miscommunications in the future. If you’d like, we’d be happy to note in your account that Bravecto should always be applied in-clinic for Peekaboo going forward.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and for being a long-time client.
Sincerely,
Stephanie Wolgamott
Experiencia fantástica: I had to put my dog, Buddy, down on 7/27/25. I drove from Sebring, FL (where I live) to PSL because I trusted them to treat him with dignity, having previously used VMC to put another dog down in 2017. Dr. Davidson was sensitive to Buddy’s situation and helped me make the right decision. From the receptionists, vet techs and Dr. Davidson, I am grateful and thankful for the way things were handled. I received a sympathy card in the mail with Buddy’s paw print on it. It was a most pleasant and heartwarming surprise. Again, thank you.
Experiencia negativa: Frustrating all over. I came in with my cat having oral issues. Turns out he has stomatitis. First they try to charge me twice for blood work. That’s $200. Next I explained that I can’t give him pills and need to do liquids. Yet they still prescribe steroids in pill form. Next after I request liquid, they charged me again for the pills with the liquid. The ordeal to get $21 refunded took an hour because they had no proof I paid the first time. Had to supply receipts. Now let’s talk unclear instructions for arrival. The doctor tells me that surgery drop off is between 7am and 7:30 but when I get the appt reminder call, the receptionist tells me 8am. I had to ask her about surgery drop off. And let’s add that I’ve called, been placed on hold, and then cut off. If it was just 1 incident I’d forgive it but this is a collection of issues. I will not go back.
We're very sorry to hear about your recent experience and truly regret the frustration it caused. What you’ve described does not reflect the level of service and communication we aim to provide. We understand how stressful it is to care for a pet with a chronic condition like stomatitis, and we apologize for the confusion around billing, prescriptions, and appointment instructions.
Your feedback is being taken seriously, and we are reviewing the situation internally to address the issues you've raised—particularly regarding communication between departments, accuracy in billing, and clarity around drop-off protocols.
While we understand your decision not to return, we would still appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly to better understand the full scope of your experience and ensure proper follow-up. Please feel free to contact our management team at 772-337-8570.
We wish the very best for you and your cat and appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns.

Experiencia positiva: I've used the ER services here a few times and have been overall pretty happy with everything. However I recently used the day practice for the first time and it's been like pulling teeth to get any kind of follow up, call backs or emails. The receptionist always puts you on hold and then just says they'll leave a message for the vet and no one ever calls you back. Any call back or results I've received have been a week turnover and in the meantime my poor kitty is still not feeling well.
Thank you for your feedback and for trusting us with your pet’s care, both in our ER and day practice. We’re truly sorry to hear about your recent experience and understand how frustrating and upsetting it must be to wait for updates—especially when your kitty isn’t feeling well.
Timely communication is a priority for us, and it’s clear we fell short in this instance. We take your concerns seriously and are actively reviewing where the breakdown occurred so we can make improvements.
Please feel free to reach out to our management team directly at 772-337-8570
so we can look into your case and ensure your pet receives the attention they deserve.
We appreciate your feedback and the opportunity to do better.

Experiencia fantástica: Losing our baby Fluffy has been so hard! We will always be thankful for what the doctor and stuff did for him and for us as a family to help us during one of the most difficult times we have ever faced. Thank you for your kindness and sensitivity ❤️
We are so sorry for the loss of your beloved Fluffy. It was an honor to care for him and to be there for your family during such a heartbreaking time. Thank you for your kind words—our team truly appreciates them. Please know our hearts are with you as you continue to heal. ❤️

Experiencia fantástica: Got there with our very vocal German Shepherd puppy for our weekly bandage change & decided to wait outside (to not disrupt others) & we were met by Brandon who helped us going back & forth to accommodate us outside. Brandon is very professional , kind & courteous & patient! Made our visit very pleasant. Thank you Brandon.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful words! We’re so glad Brandon was able to make your visit a positive one—he truly embodies the kindness and professionalism we strive for every day. We’ll be sure to pass along your kind message to him. Give your sweet (and vocal!) German Shepherd puppy some love from us—we look forward to seeing you both again soon!

Experiencia positiva: I’m a relatively long standing customer here, because of my pets awesome groomer (Maryanne, hence the 3 stars) and emergency services from the vet in the past. 24 hour available is a major plus. However, customer service is very lacking. It has always been average but now it completely lacking and unprofessional. Called 3x to schedule a boarding appointment and was put on hold, 10 minutes at one point, after pointing out to the receptionist that I’ve been on hold. She said, “ okay I’ll be right with you,” and placed be back on hold. I hung up. I found out that appointments are NOW available online. So I scheduled one there. No one returned my call or otherwise followed up. It’s as if they are trying to loose customers. Front line employees needs a major overhaul.
Experiencia fantástica: I came in emergency case I had a kitten that just got fixed and she wouldn’t eat. They were so good here they got her back on the road to recovery. She’s doing great.
Experiencia fantástica: Grateful for Their Flexibility and Care I truly appreciate the front desk and staff for going above and beyond during our recent visit. Despite a scheduling mix-up, they were incredibly understanding and still made time to sedate and groom my dog, ensuring he was well taken care of. Everyone was professional, kind, and patient—not only with my dog but with me as well. It’s clear they genuinely care about the animals in their care, and I’m so grateful for their flexibility and compassion. Thank you for turning a stressful situation into a positive experience!
Experiencia fantástica: I cannot thank the team at the Emergency Vet enough for the incredible care. They gave my French bulldog, Petunia, during a Terrifying health crisis. She was bleeding from both vomit and diarrhea, and I rushed her in terrified and uncertain of what would happen. From the moment we walked through the door, we would treated with compassion, urgency and professionalism. Alec, the vet tech, was beyond phenomenal. He is gentle with Petunia, explained everything clearly, And showed a level of care that was above and beyond. Dr. Murati was equally outstanding— Thorough, kind, and incredibly skilled. I know there were other emergency veterinarians involved, whose names, unfortunately, I did not catch, But they all work together to provide life-saving treatment for which I am forever grateful. This is a team that not only knows what they’re doing medically, but understands How important it is to support the humans going through the emergency too. It made all the difference. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for caring for Petunia like she was your own. If you are ever in an emergency with your pet, this is the place to go. Thank you again ever so much.
Experiencia fantástica: I cannot express how impressed I am with the staff at this hospital and the treatment both my dog and myself received. I don’t leave reviews and I have felt very let down with the majority of vets and staff I have encountered over the years, to the point that I try and avoid them. That being said, this team is one in a million. They were patient, kind, compassionate, understanding. They worked with me on my own thoughts and input regarding my dogs treatment and didn’t run me over, they weren’t condescending. Dr Meagan Lowe was just outright amazing. I am so grateful.
Experiencia negativa: I brought my cat to the ER because she was gagging and wretching, and I suspected she had something caught in her throat. The symptoms and situation I was describing and explaining to the assistants and the vet herself made them look at me like I had three heads... as if they had never heard of a cat with a hairball lodged in its throat before. They reached into their only toolbox, recommending unnecessary X-rays and blood tests, and sent me on my way with an anti-emetic even though my cat was NOT NAUSEOUS. It was an expensive bill for nothing. Unless your pet is hemorrhaging, don't bother. They are clueless.
Experiencia fantástica: I cannot rate this amazing ER highly enough. Even if I live outside the state of Florida, I would bring my animals to this facility. They showed care and compassion above and beyond anything I have ever experienced with a vet. Unfortunately, our poor Jill passed away. We knew she was going to before we ever entered this emergency room from a previous diagnosis. The staff was courteous and friendly. They took care of our puppy like she was their own. They comforted us and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable as we had to make the hardest choice of a pet owners life. They sent us a card that all of the staff hand signed and wrote a personal message to us. They took such amazing care of our Jill. I will never be able to express how much gratitude I have for them. If you ever have a pet who has a problem do yourself and your pet a favor and take them here. ❤️
Experiencia fantástica: Our poor Cayenne couldn't breathe so we brought her in as an emergency. From the second we walked in the staff was friendly, and fast. Though the news was heartbreaking the Dr. Explained everything with compassion and empathy. One of the hardest days in our lives was eased up a little by the staff. We went and picked her up after cremation and the carved box and clay pawprint were beautiful. Thank you everyone for being so kind.
Experiencia negativa: As I sit here and look at the reviews I wonder why are you guys still operating. I called my normal vet about my cat sneezing and they said bring them in to an emergency vet if you see blood. 20 minutes later I noticed it and rushed to this absurd place called an emergency vet. I arrived at 1030pm. 2 patients were ahead of me. As the time went on I was there for only about an hour and the desk receptionist left. Both of them. At that moment I should’ve left. They offered water for me and my fiancée but as hours went by I began to wonder how my pet would be able to go to the bathroom as there is no way for me to take them outside since it’s a INDOOR cat. At 1 am I purposely pressed the buzzer so a doctor would come out. I demanded to know how I’m not even in a room and there’s no one in the lobby waiting but us. They quickly ushered us into a room after 3 hours of waiting in the lobby. The doctor came in took a TEMPERATURE that’s it people. Temperature. It took them 2 hrs to come in with a vet to give me hypothesis but no firm answer. But of course they quickly sold me some medicine which is interesting since u can’t put ur finger on the diagnosis. So the doctor left and said they will be back with the medicine and get us checked out. 45 minutes later I called the number and demanded to know why I’m still there at 4AM as I have work at 6 and still am waiting to get checked out. Within seconds of hanging up a nurse came in and gave me the medicine and checked me out. … sooooo you had it ready but your on ur own time i see. 0 urgency. 0 professionalism. This place should be torn down or the whole night shift should be terminated from their job. 0 stars.
Experiencia fantástica: We came to the office because my dog had stopped eating and was very sluggish. It did take 2 hours to be seen because we did not have an appointment. Once we were taken back the staff was very comforting to us when they were diagnosing our baby. Dr. Nick came in and with extreme compassion and explained our options. We decided to put her to rest. A couple of days later we received a card in the mail with a copy of her footprints and nose print. We are extremely grateful of their professionalism.
Experiencia fantástica: We’ve been going to VMC for over 10 years and for the last several years for emergencies and boarding. Tonight I had to go due to being unable to give my newly diagnosed buddy, Jackson, his insulin. Thankfully Sondra was the tech. She was amazing!! Jackson already knows her as she’s always so nice to him. He’s a special little guy with a lot of anxiety. She showed us another method to administered the insulin. She explained the method to hold him and did so while I administered the injection. He never flinched. Sondra is an amazing technician that VMC and her patients are lucky to have. She deserves to be recognized and please don’t ever let her leave!! Thank you!!
Experiencia negativa: In what world is an emergency visit physical just a temperature check? That's all they do for $125. If your pet needs an actual physical check up since it is an EMERGENCY they'll be recommending $1000+ in tests and meds for NO DIAGNOSIS, NO "PHYSICAL SYMPTOMS" , NO EXPLANATION PROVIDED.
Experiencia fantástica: My dog was at death’s door less than five days ago and now she’s back to 110%. When we came in I was afraid we would have to wait and my dog couldn’t. She walked in and threw up on the floor and they immediately took her and evaluated her. The staff was amazing, they laid out all financial options after evaluating her immediately and just all around bedside manner was top notch.
Experiencia negativa: If I could give this hospital 0 stars I would. Never again would I take another one of my animals there. I went in with my younger sister because her cat wasn’t eating and throwing up. After x-rays (which were ridiculously overpriced) and finding a blockage two vet techs came in with over a $7,000 bill to complete the surgery. They preceded to push completely unnecessary surgery’s that would only create more hardship on her kitty. My 18 year old sister was sobbing from how much they were pushing and guilting her. If he were to have gotten all of the surgery’s they wanted to do he would have been at extreme risk for death. They told us that he needs every surgery that minute or he will die. A $7,000 surgery was not feasible for our family, after getting a quote for euthanasia there was a $300 fee just to BE IN THE ROOM with your animal. This hospital is a complete scam. We decided to go with neither option and take him home. Our typical vet was open the day after Memorial Day (for reference we took him to this hospital the day before Memorial Day), we immediately took him there and he got the surgery he needed to remove the blockage and all other care he needed for about $1000. This is when we learned from our vet how unnecessary and risky the surgery’s this hospital was insisting would be. What angers me the most is that they would have let us put him down KNOWING it was completely unnecessary. I cannot understand how under good conscience this hospital can let this happen and for almost a $1000. THE SAME PRICE IT WAS TO SAVE HIS LIFE. Thank god we decided to take him home and go to our trusted vet. He did great in surgery and is now home and thriving.
Experiencia negativa: i took my dog in about three weeks ago, she jumped off the bed and developed a limp, her paw became a little swollen as well so we took her one late night to get her checked, the report says they examined her whole leg, they were also very kind. after a few hours of tests/xrays the vet came in and told us for an 8 year old, she’s in perfect condition, they also took blood work just to be sure it’s not cancer, and they informed us that it’s not which was a huge relief, it was just inflammation due to the fall and sent her home with medication. a painful $1,100 later for x-rays and medication. the swelling went down after about a week, thank God, but her limp didn’t go. we took her in for a second opinion at a different vet, they redid x-rays, just in case; my poor girl had a broken shoulder and aggressive bone cancer, osteosarcoma. we unfortunately had to put her to sleep considering the insufferable pain she was in. the false hope and grief has been immense. i’m sure this vet thought they did everything they could, but she jumped off the bed, why wouldn’t we consider examining all the way up to the shoulder, the whole leg.. i just have so many questions, so many thoughts. go the extra mile, get the second opinion, and love extra on your besties.
Experiencia fantástica: I would like to sincerely thank the Veterinary Medical Center of St. Lucie County, along with their compassionate veterinarian and staff, for helping us through one of the most difficult decisions of our lives—putting our beloved dog, Mimi, to sleep. They made this heartbreaking experience as comfortable and peaceful as possible. We were given the time we needed to say our goodbyes, just as Mimi deserved, and were presented with all available options without any judgment. Their kindness and professionalism meant the world to us. We are especially grateful for the thoughtful sympathy card we received in the mail, along with Mimi’s paw and nose prints. That beautiful gesture touched us deeply—we cried our eyes out. Lastly, thank you for offering the keepsake paw print. It’s something we will always treasure and keep close to our hearts. I wholeheartedly recommend this veterinary hospital to anyone who loves their fur babies as much as we loved ours. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Thank you so much for your heartfelt words. We are truly sorry for your loss and honored that you entrusted us with Mimi’s care during such a difficult time. Saying goodbye to a beloved companion is never easy, and we’re grateful we could provide comfort and support to you and your family when it mattered most.
It means a great deal to our entire team to know that our compassion, care, and small gestures brought you some peace. Mimi was clearly deeply loved, and we are so glad we could help honor her memory.
Please know you’ll always have a place in our hearts here at VMC. If there’s anything you ever need, we’re just a phone call away.
Experiencia positiva: I was going to discuss my concerns in person, but after the conversation I just had with Nick, I have to post this review. Two weeks ago, my cat presented with symptoms of a blockage so I brought him to VMC since it happened on a Saturday. They did whatever “tests” they did, determined it was a UTI, charged me $400, and sent us on our way with pain meds and an antibiotic. My cat is fractious so I know I’m paying several hundred to bring him in so that in itself was expected. Fast forward to two weeks later, early on a Monday morning, the blockage symptoms are prevalent yet again. We make our trip to VMC yet again. The staff was great, and the doctor was very informative. Surgery was deemed necessary and I did not hesitate to pay the money and get my cat on the books. I understood that the price could fluctuate depending on how he handled the surgery and the staff was great at articulating that. Fast forward to two days after surgery. Nick calls me with the update and I ask him if it’s possible he’ll be able to come home if all goes well with the catheter removal. I understand that he can’t give me a guarantee (as much as I want one). I was asking because I miss him and want him home. As soon as Nick finished explaining it depends on how he responds, in the same breath, he states I have a balance of $184. Like, ok? I just paid $3400 with the expectation it could go up. Maybe he was preparing me to expect a bill but the way he said it was very distasteful. I understand that it’s a business, but the way he said it was unnecessary and didn’t fit into that part of the conversation whatsoever. I hope that he isn’t the one typically making phone calls. It hasn’t been all bad, and I’ll end on a positive: When doing a visit while he is still in their care, Sam was amazing and kind while I was an emotional roller coaster.
Experiencia negativa: If I could give no stars I would. VMC provided misinformation regarding their online pharmacy and failed to communicate that the in-house pharmacy would take more than 24 hours to fill a prescription, resulting in a missed dose. This indicates a failure on VMC's part to provide both accurate information and the timely refills essential for proper medical care. Addendum: Their response is ridiculous. When I called regarding the issues with the refills, I requested a call from one of the office managers, who were also not in that day. That was two days ago, no one called to discuss it. I was ‘open to discussing it further,’ however at this point I will seek other care for my pets as this practice has shown that is more interested in its reputation than caring for clients. If it were interested in my pets’ welfare someone would have called me prior to responding publicly to a Google review.
We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating and concerning it must have been to miss a dose due to a delay. We take full responsibility for the miscommunication regarding our pharmacy procedures, and we apologize for any stress this caused.
Your feedback is incredibly important and will be used to help improve how we communicate and manage prescription timelines moving forward. If you're open to discussing this further, we’d appreciate the chance to speak with you directly and do what we can to make it right. Please feel free to contact us at 772-337-8570.
Experiencia negativa: ZERO stars ⭐ AWFUL. Money hungry. WOW...shocker, This place wants your money ONLY. They have no interest in your pets health. The worst experience our family has ever had. Saw a vet for 2 minutes to tell us what test he recommended, $500 later, he recommended $500 more of meds. Are you kidding me? Nope, go steal from some ignorant person who doesn't know any better. Horrible DO NOT recommend. Zero stars ⭐ you should be ashamed of trying to take people for fools. Shame on you. My HONEST opinion.
We’re very sorry to hear that you had such a negative experience. It’s never our intention to make any client feel taken advantage of, and we understand how upsetting it can be when expectations around cost and care don’t align.
Our goal is always to provide thorough medical recommendations that prioritize your pet’s health, and we do our best to explain all options and associated costs beforehand. We appreciate your honest feedback and would welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns further. Please feel free to reach out to us directly at 772-337-8570 so we can better understand what happened and work toward a resolution.
Experiencia fantástica: I had to bring my frenchie, Lola, in via after hours emergency. This situation caused me a lot of stress and concern and the moment I spoke with the front desk, I felt confident that my dog was in the best and safest environment for treatment. As soon as we got there, they took her back for evaluation and got an x-ray after explaining those fees and obtaining my approval. I saw the emergency doctor soon after. She and the staff went over every possible outcome and explained all in detail to me so that I could make the best decision towards treatment. I knew all costs associated prior to any diagnostics or treatment so that ultimately, I could decide. They took such good care of my girl and they were more than fair in pricing. Their compassion towards my dog showed that the staff and Doctor clearly DO care about the pets brought into their facility. I am even considering switching my pets to their regular vet practice due to how they cared for my Lola and their guidance through the entire process. Thank you so much! Jessie & Lola
Thank you so much for sharing your experience — we’re honored you trusted us with Lola during such a stressful time. We're so glad to hear that you felt supported and informed every step of the way. Your kind words mean the world to our team, and we’re thrilled Lola received the care she needed. We’d be happy to welcome her (and any of your pets!) into our veterinary family anytime.
Experiencia negativa: I’ve been to the 24/7 ER and had good results. I scheduled an appt with Dr Farrington but had to wait a week to see her. We arrived on 4/14/25 and waited an hour to be seen. My 19 year old Chihuahua had something causing him to sneeze and cough. When we were seen he spotted five spot of diarrhea with blood. Note: we walked him outside before he was seen and all was fine. There was no clear diagnosis but the vet wanted to cover all bases from a cough/sneeze and diarrhea injection plus 3 medications to take home for diarrhea and coughing-sneezing. Unfortunately the medicine label for the probiotic was listed as a paste. What we received was a capsule with a syringe for a German Sheppard. Photo to follow. So the instructions were confusing and wrong. Important to note the Dr said she did not hear or see evidence of a cold but sent home an antibiotic for cough and sneezing. Within 36 hours the dog was no longer pooping. I c as led three times this week to get the right medicine to help my dog. I’m so frightened and annoyed as the phone call returned just went over the why take the medications but did not address his constant licking of his s as bus and the inability to poop. Finally yesterday the Dr called we made a plan which consisted of taking the dog off all the meds and give him a laxative and if that didn’t work the Dr would return the day after Easter and see him. Well he is pooping small soft bowel movements on his own. What do I do about the constant itching. Office visit injections and med cost 250.00. Laxative would be more. Itching is constant. Today is Easter. I took a light to see what could be itching the poor dog as the licking kept me up all night with him. Looks like I’ll have to find a vet that knows specifically what this is and treat him. I won’t be playing the guessing game of what to give my 18 year chihuahua. I should have cancelled that appointment in the first place. Run! No call from Owner or office manager was made to me even though the receptionist even though I was told one of them would call. I’m so left in the dark this Easter holiday. Feel so bad for my dog. Two of three drugs. How many more does he need?
Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Nick and staff are amazing! We took our two year old pup here recently and felt well taken care of. Cannot recommend enough, thank you for all your help!
Experiencia fantástica: Our precious dog was rushed to VMC on Monday night because he was suddenly very sick. VMC treated us with so much kindness and gentleness during our 3 trips there. Our home vet abandoned us in our time of need, but VMC was so nice and helpful with our dog. We ultimately had to put him down, and while the process was very emotionally painful for us, we felt that they treated us and our dog with so much care. Thank you VMC for treating us like family and making sure our dog didn’t suffer.
Experiencia positiva: This is a great veterinarian center we have been going here for many years.. however last night we brought our dog in because half of her bottom canine what's coming out so we came into the emergency way and we had to wait for a doctor Nick for almost 2 hours when he came in he was nothing but rude didn't address the problem just kept saying that your dog is diabetic which we've known that for 5 years and she takes insulin every two times a day he listened to her heart and informed us that she has a heart murmur which we have known for over 5 years I asked him to please address the problem which was her tooth hanging out and she's in pain he proceeded to tell us that he doesn't have anything to do with teeth wouldn't help us out in any way as I said this is a great place to bring your animals but this Dr Nick was horrible he's an ER doctor hopefully you never have to bring your pet to him
Experiencia positiva: This story has a sad ending. My beloved dog (Katie) died, and I can't help but wonder if the outcome could have been different. I was directed to this clinic by our regular vet office (Kelly Vet) because the on-duty vet was in surgery. My 14-year-old Havanese had extreme diarrhea with blood (every 20 to 30 minutes). My 2 visits to VMC were on April 4th and 5th. Both were through Emergency. The positives aspects: - The vets and exam room technicians are very good. - The front desk personnel were generally friendly and appeared to try hard to manage a very chaotic environment. - The facility is well equipped. The negative aspects: - On the 4th, Katie and I waited 1.5 hours. The vet and I agreed to start medications to calm her stomach and stop the bloody diarrhea. I was told to return on Friday if the diarrhea hadn't stopped. - On the 5th, Katie and I waited 4.0 hours! After 2 hours several of us were offered bottled water. I asked for a bowl for Katie and was told by a front desk staff member that I could not give my dog water because of tests that would be run. During the 4-hour wait it was chaotic (regular appointments and emergencies). For 4 hours I had to let my dog relieve herself roughly every 20 minutes. I made sure the desk people knew I was walking Katie and not leaving (so they could see she was going frequently). At one point she didn't make it outside and a bloody pool had to be mopped up. (Yes, it was an emergency and not just a dog with lingering diarrhea!) As it turns out, the front desk person made a mistake. When we finally got into an exam room, I told the tech that my dog had been without water for over 5 hours, and I was very concerned about dehydration, especially in an old dog. He immediately checked with the vet and returned with a bowl of water. After blood work and x-rays I was told by the vet that she needed to be admitted as her white cells indicated borderline sepsis. She needed hydration, pain meds, and other meds. The day vet did a very good job. She mentioned that my dog might only be in the clinic for one night, but she wanted to see her eat something before Katie could be discharged. I was told I couldn't stay with my dog, but that I could call any time. I left with the expectation that I'd be bringing Katie home. I called to check on my dog at 7:45 and was told curtly by a tech that 'she'd only been with the dog 1 hour, but she seemed okay'. At 11:45 PM the vet called to say Katie had died. I was told we could come and say goodbye. When my husband and I arrived, we were greeted warmly and taken to see Katie. We were told to take as much time as we needed. During our stay I explained the waiting room situation, including the lack of water, to the night vet. I shared how upsetting it was to watch clients/pets walk in and out quickly while also witnessing my dog failing. I could see Katie was spiraling down, and she began to moan in pain (I took video). I asked the vet to please share this information with the management so changes could be made. Someone needs to better assess and manage the emergency cases in the waiting area. Some people would be tempted to give a 1-star review because of the outcome, but there were positive aspects as the vets and techs were professional and compassionate. I feel the day desk person made a call she wasn't qualified to make (to withhold water during our long wait). Maybe Katie would have died on Saturday anyway, but I feel that if she received attention quickly the outcome might have been different.
Experiencia negativa: For one you didn't even tell us what the actual problem was. You just kept saying it's probably a cold it could be herpes. At this point we had already spent $600 and you couldn't tell us what the problem was. We already know the cat is sneezing we already know the cat has some upper respiratory issues, we told you that. Then you came back and acted like you were telling us that. All you and the staff kept saying was we recommend you get more shots we recommend we recommend. Nowhere did you say " the cat needs this". And then when asked does the cat actually need those shots is it going to make that big of a difference the response was no. For shame. Oh and then the follow-up was $120 just to show up and they still wanted to give the cats more shots. This is a disgusting industry. The cost of your test for blood CBC and mini panels around the world is about $5. You charge well over a hundred.
Experiencia negativa: "A long-time customer updating her review from a 5-star experience to a -10 if it was possible." If I needed a title, it would sound like that. I have been a customer of the Veterinary Medical Center of St. Lucie County for over 3 years now. I have remained loyal; however, that does not count nowadays. Indeed, any thriving and smart business that cares knows loyalty is the backbone of success. Today, I was very disappointed and extremely dissatisfied with how they handled the situation. I usually order Bravecto (a 3-month flea) on chewy.com. As everyone knows, it's cheaper and easy (you can put in an autoship and not worry about it because they contact your vet directly for a prescription refill). My previous vet called 'Eco Depot Pet Hospital' in Miami, just a little backstory for context, literally saving my cat. He suffered from unknown pain which costcould find before - costing me numerous expensive bills. So when I moved to Port St Lucie, I wanted to have a good vet around. The Veterinary Medical Center of St. Lucie County was so fantastic when I first came in that I could not keep it secret. I talked highly about this place across my large social networks, online (and without trying to boast anything; it gathered 7 million people), and in person. Later, after all the new move-ins, they flowed with new customers. Usually, that's a great sign, but only and when the business continues to follow care for the customer and professionalism. It enhances their experience and drives repeat business. I called them to continue my Bravecto prescription refill, and they denied it 2x. I called them, and after trials and hoops, I spoke to the manager, nonetheless to say they were rude over the phone and arrogant. Could they authorize the online flea prescription refill as my previous vet doctor did? YES, Saving me unnecessary vet visits as my cat is healthy, eating, playing, with no sign of illness whatsoever, and happy... They told me they could not accept the chewy order and have the Bravecto authorized; as I quote, they have "to create a relationship with my cat" by having a regular vet visit to check him. This means spending $75 (for a cat) for a 5-minute visit, saying 'ok, he is good to go; here's the authorization". If you don't know, the price of their vet visits has also jumped since the new customer boom arose. Because of the FDA they added also, they cannot do that. However, it would be ok for me to come to their clinic to buy one of that product (with a 20% more dollar increase) and schedule a visit. Of course, this is every time. Yet, my previous vet had me on 'unlimited refill authorization,' which was legal, too. This vet clinic is most likely trying to fill their pocket. Just like the government do with us humans. It's outrageous honestly! They are not trying to build any customer relationships here. As a business owner, long-lasting customer relationships are more rewarding than just transactional ones!!!! They lost valuable customers: my cat and the 2 big dogs we have, Which require monthly care for their allergies. Another veterinary practice will acquire us as new customers.
Experiencia fantástica: 5-Star Review for Alyssa and Brandy at Veterinarian Medical Center I can’t say enough great things about my experience with Alyssa and Brandy at Veterinarian Medical Center! They took such amazing care of my dog while I was away for a few nights, and I felt completely at ease knowing my pup was in their hands. From the moment I walked in, their energy was warm, welcoming, and truly genuine you can tell they love what they do and care deeply for the animals they watch over. The facility itself is clean, well-maintained, and feels like a safe, trustworthy place for any pet parent. Alyssa and Brandy went above and beyond to ensure my dog was comfortable and well-cared for, and I truly appreciate their dedication and kindness. If you’re looking for a place where your pet will be treated like family, this is it! Highly recommend!
Experiencia fantástica: I give them 5 stars. Everyone is so nice and professional and my kitty Farrah loves them all. ☺️
