Experiencia fantástica: Brought all 3 of my cats here today. I had to make separate appointments due to personal preference and everything worked out perfectly. My cats were seen quickly each time. The vet, Mr. Antoine, was awesome. He definitely knows his stuff and answered every question I had. The service was great and so were the prices. Definitely recommend this clinic to anyone in the area looking for a vet.

They kept me informed and calm in an emergency situation and gave the best possible care to my adopted 6mo old feral kitten (who is very anxious and attached). Vet technician, Isa, truly has an incredible gift with animals, is so smart, and so kind/comforting to both animals and humans! Dr. Bloomhall was very informative, efficient, and gave me everything I needed to make sure the fur baby was taken care of. Receptionists are also kind, sweet, and very caring (especially Gabby). Flexible with appointments and stellar pricing. Cannot say enough good things about this place! You can know and trust that your fur babies are in excellent, educated, and caring hands.

Experiencia fantástica: Have had 2 cats I’ve brought for treatment here. New kitten services are thorough and the vet took his time with me to address my concerns and talk me through next steps. Very upfront about costs and you get the meds on site. A little hectic in the waiting room (loud door scared my girl), but I’ve never seen an issue between animals.

Experiencia fantástica: I was able to make an appointment for my dog in a timely manner. The staff were extremely patient and kind to my reactive, anxious dog. They were able to get him the treatment he needed and he left feeling relaxed and happy. I also paid less than half of what I had to pay at the last vet I went to, so all in all had a great experience and would 100% recommend these folks to anyone in need :)

Experiencia negativa: I have been going to low cost for over 10 years. I have always loved this place but recently noticed many of the vets have left. I saw dr chrystal broomhaul today and was very disappointed. She was very unprofessional and unpleasant making assumptions that i do not care for my dogs. I have done rescue work all my life and have always kept dogs well. This dog in particular had been from placquemines spca and they were desperate for a foster. I offered not knowing the dog had massive heart worms. I raised the money to pay low cost 500 to treat her for heart worms. I have kept her consistently on heart worm prevention since her treatment. Dr broomhaul made assumptions that she had no right to make. I also feel she overcharged me for the visit and never asked what I wanted done. Very unprofessional and poor communication from this vet. Never want to see her again

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve had nothing but a great experience here! The staff is so nice and friendly! It’s so affordable and I would recommend! Turkey, my dog, was found on the street with a broken leg and they took her in and amputated her leg. The staff remember her every time she comes in and it’s so welcoming! Turkey may have a different review, but I personally love it here!

They were very clear about possible issues with the senior stray dog that I had taken in, the potential costs of treatments, and alternative options for care. Most importantly to me, I felt no pressure to make any decisions immediately. I was already keeping the dog but I'm definitely staying with this center!

When I called yesterday, they didn’t have an opening until next week, yet they still found a way to squeeze us in this morning. The staff was incredibly kind and gentle, and they treated both my dog and our family with so much respect. The sympathy card signed by the staff and the paper with his paw print meant more to us than they will ever know. Truly thankful for such a caring kind team.

Experiencia negativa: This place is a joke first visit I was told my dog had a ear infection went back two days later and was told he had cancer they took a sample and I was told the Dr. Would call me on Friday my dog passed on Sunday and still till this day I still never gotten a call with any results. I called on Friday the day the results was supposed to be in I had spoken to the same Dr.we seen before and told her how bad he was doing and asked if she could give him some meds to make him more comfortable and was told to give him extra steroids which was wrong in so many ways this place doesn't care about your pets just money please don't use this place.

I was very nervous and upset about a potential health issue we suspected of my senior pup, and the staff was so empathetic and Dr. Broom took the time to sit with me, explain everything, make suggestions, give me timely results, and ensure I felt comfortable and had my questions answered. I wish I knew the name of the nurse who attended us for all of our appointments - she was the sweetest and again, so comforting in a stressful time for me. I truly felt they all really cared about my pets and I am grateful I had them duirng this time.
Experiencia negativa: I will never return to this sad excuse of a Veterinarian Clinic. I understand it’s Low Cost but their prices are not much lower than most places. My last visit was almost a year ago but having to schedule an appointment for my pet has reminded me of why I won’t give this place another dime. From the nurse who checked us in, to the tall and bald headed doctor, everyone was rude and made customers feel like a nuisance to them. I was appalled on how they handled my animal with such disrespect and neglect. Attitude has changed and customer service was nowhere to be found. I’m so surprised how much things have changed within the few months of those visits. Don’t waste your time or money.
Experiencia negativa: went here with dog yesterday had appointment and was treated very rudely and told i was doing something since i got there, when all i was doing was sitting in a chair stroking my dog who needed treatment badly. her ears have a terrible infection after my appointment time had passed and they were passing us over for yet another dog that had only been there maybe ten minutes in front of us i said something and was treated like i was wrong for speaking up i told i could just be patient when i had been there for an hour already. so i left i am sorry thise women have to work with someone so rude and that does not care if your pet is in pain or not.

I scheduled what was originally a rescue cat to get fixed, who I communicated that I was going to keep before appointment and they still worked with me on cost. Jamie, is lovely at coordinating things, as well as Johana who is training and doing an excellent job, and the manager Joheidi, who is just as kind went out of her way to alleviate a miscommunication for me. There is a specifically loving demeanor at this office, the hearts of the staff really show through their work, thank y’all for caring for these babies!

Experiencia negativa: Update Tried to make a appointment at bat vet in metairie and they were extremely busy so had no choice to go to this location and nothing has changed gossipy bad attitude receptionist they were standing around gossiping when I had to step out and come back they were all laughing and had toxic attitudes I will avoid this place as much as I can . A nice professional helpful receptionist makes a big difference Once again they told me I didn't have an appointment when I did very rude receptionist very nasty bobed black hair curly , heavy set woman with a big attitude the place is very unprofessional and its not cheap but the good news we have lots of choices

Experiencia negativa: NOT Low Cost. NOT Low Cost. My wife was quoted $485. for surgical repair of an ear hematoma (from my dog shaking it's head hard) - - then when she went to set the surgical appointment it was closer to $600 - - which is only $100 cheaper than my beloved regular Vet would have charged. I have to apologize to my regular Vet for thinking anybody could be better. My regular vet charges $65 regular appointment (1 hr) and only $38 for a follow up/check up. "Low Cost" (NOT) charges $50 for their Exam. How is this soooo much cheaper? It's not !!! They are bait and switch. It's a joke. Beware.

Experiencia negativa: I first want to say that the receptionists were very kind and friendly. Out of the entire visit, this was the ONLY thing that was pleasant. When we got to the back, I noticed our appointment seemed so rushed. The doctor barely examined my dog (touched him a little bit, checked his heart then handed me my dog back) I had to ask about his eyes and he asked for the dog back to even check his eyes. When we left, I had to go through all the charges and saw they double charged us for a rabies tag. So I had to go back in and deal with that. Then the next morning, I almost gave my dog his first dose of medicine and saw it was EXPIRED. So I had to go back again and get new meds. After 2 weeks of these meds, my dog looks worse now than before so I have to take him back to a new vet to see what’s going on, after already spending nearly 350$ for this terrible vet visit. The assistant was so rude and made smart comments when we declined ONE thing because the bill was adding up more than what we were expecting. I got “money-hungry” vibes from this place. They want that $$$ but don’t seem to actually care for their patients. Take your money to a vet that actually cares for your animals.
Experiencia negativa: I took my dog to this pathetic excuse for a vet clinic. What they they thrive on is “Low Cost”. I would never trust these posers again and am sorry I visited. They were rude and there are other ways to get the owners to want to come back. Like respecting your clients. That didn’t happen with me. My dog and I were told things like (we went in for vaccines),”You don’t want your dog to have a heart murmur”. (Trying to manipulate me to get blood work.) The doctor told me that. So disrespectful. And I was mocked when asked if my dog was healthy.. And I answered,”Yes”. They didn’t like that answer. That meant less cash for them. There are other clinics. Same price. Or cheaper. Different zip codes.

Experiencia negativa: Talk about hit or miss. What is going on with this place? I have been bringing in my kitten Miu Miu for over a year now and always loved the staff and doctors,however the two doctors + staff that checked her out 2x over the last week were so rude. Both male doctors (maybe Dr. Saacks and Capone) were very condescending. They barely examined my kitten before spending the rest of the exam on the computer talking at me. Trying to add on shots and tests without explanation. Also “low cost”? Have spent near $400 at this place the last week just for them to rush me out of there without actually listening to me about my kitten. Such a bummer.
Experiencia fantástica: I took my sphinx kitten in today for neutering. I was nervous about taking him to a non-exotic vet, but staff took care of him very well and he is resting comfortably.
Experiencia negativa: I took my dad’s dog in to this clinic for a routine check up/vaccines and was forced to spend a large amount of money on diagnostics. My family’s dog is 5 years old, no illness or major concerns but the vet Dr. Sacks kept saying I needed a full panel of bloodwork. All of the results came back normal and I feel like I was forced to pay for something that my dog didn’t need. I will not be back!

Experiencia positiva: Could not recommend Dr. collins enough. She has dealt with my sick elderly cat frequently and always has wonderful bedside manner and care. She always ensures my baby is taken care of. That being said I rarely do this but it has bugged me so much I had to say something. I would give this place 5 stars if it wasnt for this past visit I had with the dentist Dr Capone. I called for a semi emergency appointment 2 days out because my elderly cats fang fell out. I came in for the appointment on time, and waited a full hour in the waiting room past my appointment time. I understand stuff happens but that has never happened to me with an appointment. I get into the room and the man starts yanking my cat around and shoving his glove less fingers into my cats mouth that had an open wound. She is very tolerant and was very upset. Ive never seen someone handle a cat that way especially a hurt one. All he did was give me a piece of paper with prices on it that I already got over the phone for a dental cleaning. I could barely get a word in with him, kept talking over me and had zero input on what would help her. I asked him if I could get pain killers for her or anything to help her and he shrugged and told me to get a cleaning done. Absolutely pointless waste of time on my only day off and money for an appointment that gave me info i already had. If you are going to get any dental work done here I would highly recommend the other dentist or going elsewhere. This has been one of the best vets I've had care for my chronically ill cat so to say im disappointed would be an understatement.

They expect low income families to be approved for care credit! Low income families most likely don’t have credit! They don’t want to help they just want your money!!!! Stay far away from here.

Experiencia negativa: Take your business to all star animal clinic the doctor was so nice and accommodating Receptionist was so rude told me to relinquish my cat because I couldn’t afford services for a cat uti. If you are going to work with low income families this clinic should have more training on how to work with people. They do not care about you or your pets

Experiencia negativa: Very disappointed with my most recent visit. I’ve taken 2 previous cats here but this was my senior cat’s first visit here due to scabs which I already knew were allergies. We were chastised for not using wet cat food, FORCED into buying a month supply of flea and heart worm medicine for $38 which she had neither of, and told she’d be better off as an outside cat. We were advised to get blood work done to figure out why she “lost” so much weight, she has always be an 8lb cat. She has never been a large cat and she hasn’t lost any weight. She was weighed at 8 1/2 lbs. she is almost 10 years old and the sweetest and most lovable cat I’ve ever owned. However at the vet she couldn’t wait to get back in her kennel, something she hates. And after all of that they still couldn’t give us a formal diagnosis. We were told to give “tasty” quality and quantity of food. She is an only cat now with a food bowl that never gets low with food she devours. $158 down the drain for no reason. She got 2 shots, an antibiotic shot and a cortisone shot (primarily used for allergies) I used to speak highly of this place but after this last visit I will no longer recommend.
Experiencia fantástica: LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! Took my cat Tobie in for an emergency, first time visit. We didn’t even have an appointment but walked in and got seen within like 20 minutes. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience. Every single person there is very friendly, super helpful, and you can tell they just genuinely care. We had been seen at the vet on base which was so difficult to find a day they were open and when we finally got in, all the vet did was lecture us and went through our 3 cat’s exams with a dry attitude and a-hole remarks. In the end, I spent almost $500 for what felt like a basic check-up. I really am so happy to have found Low Cost. I even brought my 2 “teens” to get spayed and neutered. Very organized and efficient during check-in at 8am, and for pick-up, they have an efficient system where you say ur parking spot number and they personally bring your babies to the car. They even gave me additional medication when I called the next day. Not free but very reasonable. Also if you’re in Jefferson Parish, they have fix a feline spay neuter program where you only pay $15… pretty sure $15. But be prepared to show ID and/or your lease showing your address within Jeff. Parish. Also rabies shot is a must! They will call to verify you have proof, if not, they’ll give your cat/dog the rabies vaccine during their procedure. Could go on, but it’s getting wayy too long. Just go!!
Experiencia negativa: came up here with my concerns asked to speak to the vet they confirmed was there from my last visit and she wouldn’t speak with me. amazing! easy 1 star. i called days straight for my dogs continuous on medication. no answer. when they do it gets put on hold and never handled. i was told certain wipes as well could help last appt. promoted that they refill the wipes if i bring the jar. scam. bought the jar and now they’re saying they never said that. annoyed completely.

Experiencia negativa: Updated, I wish the front desk here was as wonderful and accommodating as the vets are at this clinic. I’ve had multiple rough experiences with the front desk women here. It seems like I am bothering them by asking questions. I just had a woman argue with me about 4lbs difference in a weight classes on all in one treatments when the vet I saw a few months ago said the weight difference between classes was close enough for my dogs to share packs of meds. She did not like that I said two of my dogs had seen the Inner Pup for Pro Heart shots and vaxx clinics over the last year. I understand that you want to see the dogs also, but please try and work a little harder with your clients during the hard summer months. I just wanted to protect my dogs. Now I will give my money to shipping in meds on the internet instead of your local business. The actual vet told me just a few months ago that my smaller dog was only 4lbs from the next weight classe and it was okay to share and this front desk woman absolutely refused to work with me. I know times are hard but they are hard for all of us.
Our priority is always the health and safety of our pets. We require an annual exam to ensure we have the most accurate weight and health information before dispensing any medication. This policy is in place to prevent any potential harm from incorrect dosages. In our system we last saw your pet in 2023 with a weight of 68lbs while your other pet is 46lbs. This means your pets would not have the same med dosage. I understand this can be inconvenient, but its a necessary precaution. Please reach out to us directly so we can discuss your concerns and find a solution that works for you and your pet. Thank you!

Experiencia fantástica: This is a great and humane resource for the city for animal parents. It is easy to find and the staff are just amazing! They talk walk-ins and really care about your pet and it being cost effective. Everything is a breeze. I was travelling and needed to update shots for my pet. The clinic is warm, compassionate and inviting. The doctor was extremely thorough in explaining everything, what else we might need to do as well as any questions I may have. You really felt cared for. I recommend the clinic without reserve! It is so great that I would take a little trip to even come back. Update: I was totally serious. I made a permanent home out of state recently (miss you NOLA⚜️). I drove back hundreds of miles to go to this clinic because they have the best team I have ever!!! My pet is inherited from my aunt who passed away recently. She loved her little Z! The team and blessed doctors at Low Cost Animal Clinic gave life-saving surgery to her. I am forever grateful! Thank you! Only y'all took our little Z. We are forever grateful. I tell everyone about LCAC! Donate to this wonderful blessing of gifted and compassionate professionals! I am glad I didn’t go here multiple people have told me cats have died on the operating table ! Don’t trust this place and it needs to be shut down! Experiencia negativa: I got 2 cats fixed under the low cost program. Both cats supposedly received an ovariohysterectomy, removal of ovaries and uterus. Both cats had an inch and a half cut that was glued shut and Both continued to go into heat since being fixed. I have never seen such a small incision remove a cat's female organs. One of these cats died suddenly in July 16, 2024. The other continues to go into heat. I was told that she will need exploratory surgery while in heat to try to locate the remaining reproductive tissue that is still causing her to go into heat. I will never bring any animal here again.
Experiencia positiva: Employees were all very nice. And the vet was nice. It's a clean facility. Parking is odd if you've never been. If you're looking at the building the parking will be on the right side. What I consider "low cost" isn't what they define as low cost. I'll s afordable -ish. It still cost me $215 today. But my bella was worth the $215!

Experiencia negativa: I had a very disappointing experience at Low Cost Animal Clinic. If I could rate it zero, I would. I had an appointment at 11:00 AM and arrived early at 10:30 AM. Despite this, all the other pet patients were seen who came later than us. When I asked why we were still waiting, they simply told me they were behind schedule. The most ridiculous part was that people who arrived late for their appointments were seen before us. I eventually had to cancel my pet’s appointment, and they didn’t even apologize. Don’t ever go there!

She gave me her card and encouraged me to call if I had any concerns. necessary medications were made available The way all of the personnel handled and cared for my pet is beyond words.

Experiencia fantástica: First time visitor here and to be honest, I was a bit skeptical. I have 3 cats who are the closest thing to my real children! They were all able to be seen at the same time. We waited at most 10 minutes in the lobby until a staff member came out and helped me carry them into the room! Once we got in the room, my babies were able to roam free while we waited on the vet to give them their vaccines. The staff played with them until they were calm. It made them comfortable, and me VERY comfortable. All of the staff members were helpful, informative and INCREDIBLY friendly. So grateful!! We will definitely be using Low Cost moving forward! ❤️

Experiencia negativa: I was charged twice. Your deposit is SUPPOSE to cover the exam but that's not what happened I was refused by the front desk to refund me for the DOUBLE CHARGE. Experiencia positiva: Overall, this vet was clean, well-organized, and affordable. I do not often take the time to write a review but I wanted to do so because I think this is feedback the main vet should take into consideration. My partner and I have just moved to New Orleans and picked this vet due to the cost and high ratings. We have a lab mix who for the entire time we have had him has had a myriad of anxiety symptoms (licking his paw pads raw, excessive yawning, tearing things up when we are away, howling while we are away, staying up all night whining or attempting to get us out of bed with him). He is very sweet and we love him lots. He is walked for an hour daily and we are only out from 9-4pm Monday-Friday. He has been to sleep away training and we attended a full 6 month training for how to curb separation anxiety. For the past year he has been on Fluxoatine which has curbed many of his symptoms except for the paw chewing. We explained all of this to the vet and she concluded that he didn't have anxiety but instead just has a skin condition. We were very skeptical of this, but agreed to wean him off the fluoxetine. After taking him off the fluxoatine all of his symptoms were back. He has torn through our bathroom, a whole bag of his food, laundry, our couch, the trash, makeup. He will not sleep through the night and instead spends it wandering around our apartment whining and howling. He has begun eating himself again. We are at a point that we will be able to continue to have him if these symptoms do not improve. When we returned for our 1 month follow up, I explained all of this to the vet and she was STILL reluctant to put him back on the medication. She suggested we send him to doggy day care (this is a low cost vet?) or that we get him another dog??? Neither of these are solutions beyond just the cost, we had already explained at the prior appointment that our dog has dog related aggression. She did end up prescribing us a new medication for him. We will see how it works out, but this was all very avoidable if she had simply kept him on the regimen he was formerly on. While I do appreciate that she worked with us to identify his skin condition, she did not leave a lot of room for us to speak or let her know our concerns about taking him off his existing medication. In the future I hope that she is able to take some more time to see the pet holistically rather than as a singular issue.

Experiencia fantástica: Brought our kitty in for her first shots and the staff was very great with her. From the front desk to inside the room all the staff was very good to her. She got two shots and the vet got them done very quickly, she only ‘mew’d’ (not meow’d) on the first one, wish i got it on vid it was so soft and quick.

Experiencia fantástica: My dog Penny Lane has been in and out of the vet recently with older age, and every time I visit the vets and assistants treat her with kindness, patience, and genuine care to help her feel better. Penny is a large dog, about 80 lbs, which can present some obstacles but it is no problem for this awesome staff. The prices are the best you’ll get in the city and I have always been very pleased with the service and care. Wouldn’t take my beloved pets anywhere else! Experiencia negativa: UPDATE: Before I had the chance to discuss my concerns with the manager, they denied my kitten (who they were calling Tito before My 2 star review, funny how they care about details when it’s posted publicly) from being admitted to surgery. I wonder what they do during the first 3 hours, because he was not given any medication or anything. The office manager, Ariel, confirmed that there was no medical reason to deny him the surgery. It was because I “bullied the staff online”. Ariel described my use of the adjective “Large” to describe an intimidating employee as “crossing the line of professionalism”. Ariel also interrupted my conversation with her coworker Jamie in the same way as the employee who was pulling my pet out of my lap earlier in the day. They may know how to treat animals, but they certainly didn’t learn hospitality or customer service in their training. I have recordings of these interactions for anyone interested. Original review below. Staff was aggressive, rude and incompetent. Clinic is clearly biased towards canine patients. I confirmed twice that my kitten’s medical records had been sent over to them before his neuter surgery. The day before they called and said that they had not received the records. I explained to the man in the phone that I was with the tech when she sent the email and was cc’d on it. After a few minutes of looking he said “oh we do have them, they were in the wrong spot”. When I arrived and was filling out paperwork in the parking lot, I took the kitten out of his carrier for a moment and hugged him tightly to my chest. IMMEDIATELY a large woman standing outside the front door SHOUTED across the parking lot that I had to put my cat back in his carrier, meanwhile there’s a Doberman literally halfway out the window of the car next to us barking loudly and completely unattended while his owner was getting paperwork next to the woman yelling at me. Once inside, one tech literally grabbed the carrier out of my lap while I had my hand inside petting the cat and was engaged in conversation with another tech (to complete the required paperwork), then when I asked her to wait so I could address one of them at a time she copped a very sarcastic tone and said “We’ll take good care of him”. I’ll never be back. Low cost apparently means low quality and bad attitude too!

When my friendly neighborhood CVS cashier recommended the Low Cost Animal Clinic, I scheduled Chipper’s new kitten appointment. EVERYTHING was the same regarding his treatment—except the cost, which was hundreds less expensive. Not. Even. Kidding. We are very happy clients, and I’m grateful to be able to take in another deserving one.
Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Kevin Puzycki at Low Cost Animal Medical Center is great. I always feel like my Shih Tzu, Houdini, is getting the best care possible when he sees my pet. Everyone's pet is very important to them, but he treats each one like it is special. He is kind and empathetic in how he handles your dog. I appreciate his thorough approach and how he explains everything in detail. The staff is very efficient, friendly to deal with and skilled in what they do. The technicians are excellent in their ability to safely handle your pet when administering medications and performing procedures to protect the safety of all concerned while also ensuring the pet's well-being.

Experiencia negativa: Be careful where bring your pets.. had my special needs cat looked at by Dr. April. We left thinking our “wobble cat” was in good health. They set an appointment 2 months away. For what reason? Unknown because Kittens should be seen EVERY 2 weeks. And the receptionist advised us that as well. The doctor said she couldn’t do anything til 10 weeks old. My wife asked for numerous appointments to have her looked at earlier than 10 weeks they refused and said she had an appointment set in may. The vet said that we could have walked in. Once again no staff notified us about walking in? Well my baby girl passed away Friday morning. We went to put our daughter on the bus. By the time we came back (30 min or so) she was no longer breathing or alive. I immediately called this office. Idk what in this vets mind told her to wait 2 see my cat at 10 weeks. She’s a special need cat. She wasn’t going in for vaccinations. She was going in the be checked up on. The doctor said she was not accepting any responsibility for my cats death and proceeded to not only ARGUE, YELL over me, the conversation ended by me saying I’m going to report her. And Her response was “well I’m going to call them first”. Very childish and unprofessional. Like I said my pet is dead and i got no comfort from this vet. All she did was argue. In my opinion, Do not trust this vet.

Experiencia fantástica: The professional, friendly, and caring staff all seem to love what they do. They’ve cared for our rescue for about seven years now, during which time they’ve diagnosed and treated an uncommon allergy issue that another vet could not, a collapsed trachea and dental issues. Costs are transparent and reasonable. The facility is clean and accessible. Appointment/in-person wait times are generally short. Though call wait times can often be a bit long, administratively, the clinic is run very well.
