Experiencia fantástica: My puppy was in great pain with an obvious hind leg problem. She was seen by the neurologist, Dr Sarah Gutierrez. She is excellent. Maggie was given pain meds, placed on IV fluids & remained overnight. She was seen by the orthopedic surgeon, Dr Tsio the next morning. She was excellent too. Great team! They listened and clearly explained everything to me. Maggie was diagnosed with a pulled/strained leg muscle that went into the groin. She was released the next day with meds and at home care instructions. All the doctors, technicians and the reception staff were professional, knowledgeable, helpful, caring, & very friendly. My Maggie received excellent care and a lot of love. I highly recommend Yonker's Animal Speciality Center.

Experiencia fantástica: Our Oreo has mammary cancer and needed a large mass removed. The team here was so kind and explained everything to me thoroughly and kept me updated on her condition after surgery. Everyone was so kind and helpful! She has a long way to go to recovery, but I’m so impressed with how caring the team is here. I’m so glad I was able to take her somewhere where it felt like they cared about her as much as I do!

Experiencia fantástica: My cat had a problem at his rear end that I could not identify. He was off his food and isolating. He would not let me touch the area. My vet office had no appointments so I was directed to the Animal Specialty Center. How wonderful they are! From the gracious greeting at the front desk to the two great nurses who interviewed me -- just pleasant and helpful. The cat was examined and found NOT to have any bad problem. They cleaned up his rear and shaved some of the fur away, and did not even charge me for this. THANKS TO ALL !!!

Experiencia positiva: My experience was OK. I thought the vet was great, but I had to wait hours before my cat was seen. I was told by my own vet to take her to the ER to have fluids ASAP, and they couldn’t give her any fluids until the doctor saw her, which took hours. I probably would’ve been better off just taking her to the vet and having them hook her up to fluids right away and them giving the anti-nausea shot. Their prescriptions and over-the-counter med prices are *extremely* inflated, and that is appalling. A tiny tube of an Rx cost $80, and later I saw online, you can get it for $44. Then another medicine is apparently over-the-counter and they charge $53 when you can get it anywhere online for $24. That just gives you an idea of the outrageous markup over there— so if you can have your animal seen by your own vet instead of rushing to the ER like I was told to do, you’d be better off taking your pet to your own vet. The visit when we’re all set and done for my cat’s gastritis cost me over $531 (she was given fluids, a shot and two Medications), and that isn’t with any bloodwork since she was at the vet a week ago, and I already had spent $350 with them. When all was said and done, in one week I spent nearly $900. Dr. Wu seems excellent, but seriously consider taking your animal to a regular vet first if it is during business hours and isn’t a catastrophic situation. I wish my Vet would’ve made some time for her instead of telling me to take her to the ER, which cost a fortune. Just the fact that those medicines are marked up so high gives you an idea of how marked up the whole experience is. I understand a 24/7 place needs to raise costs and they’re dealing with critical cases, but it was a good deal of sticker shock and the 3.5 hour wait time was a little bit much. Also, they forgot to give me my discharge papers. I got them emailed to me two days later, and so certain instructions I didn’t even have with me and I didn’t even feed my cat properly post-visit. Another thing that was a little off-putting was that after they charged $529, someone called the front desk and said that tax was forgotten, so I had to pay another $2.29. Why they didn’t just write off the two dollars after me paying over $500 is a little distasteful.

Experiencia positiva: Loved Dr. McCue. He was very kind. He listened to my concerns for my dog and provided me answers. On the down side, if you are prescribed medicine and it is dispensed at their facility DO NOT GET IT FROM THEM!!! Their prices are outrageous compared to going to your pharmacy and using GoodRX or RX Saver. I was ripped off terribly. I called them to discuss it but they would not match the price I could have paid for them. I learned a valuable lesson and will never make that mistake again.

Experiencia negativa: I contacted Animal Specialty Center regarding euthanasia services for my son’s dog, who is terminally ill. This is an incredibly painful decision for our family. Just this past Friday, I was there and paid close to $4,000 for diagnostics and care. The hospital has my dog’s full medical history, weight, diagnosis, and condition on file. When I called to ask for an estimate for the euthanasia procedure, I was told they could not provide pricing because “it depends on many different things.” When I asked what those things were, I was told it depends on the dog’s weight, condition, and what he would need at that moment. I explained that they already have all of that information from our recent visit. Despite this, the representative continued to refuse to provide even a general estimate. When families call about end-of-life care, they are grieving. At minimum, there should be transparency and compassion. Instead, the conversation felt dismissive and unnecessarily complicated. After spending thousands of dollars at this facility, I expected clearer communication and a more humane approach during such a sensitive time. The lack of transparency after such a significant financial investment was extremely disappointing.

Experiencia negativa: My dog was bit by a Pitbull I took her here at they wouldn’t even touch her unless I paid $600 upfront. Veg in White plains is better they’re cheaper and very nice and caring. One of the Drs here told me my pet needed surgery on her foot and was smiling when she said it and that was a lie she told me it would be about $5,000 trying to discourage me on purpose. I believe she’s prejudice.

Experiencia fantástica: My dog Lulu had radiation treatment here for her nasal carcinoma with Dr. Rosen and Dr. Karten. They are both second to none. The staff is also lovely and welcoming (special shout-outs to Karina and Victoria!) This is exactly the environment we needed during a rough time. Lulu had a follow up with them this week and she is doing really well! I am grateful for the care, compassion and patience they have shown to her and her very nervous mom. I live in Brooklyn and chose ASC over Animal Medical Center in Manhattan. Making the multiple hour trips is well worth it for the personal attention and the outpouring of love they show for my girl. I just love them. Full stop.

Experiencia fantástica: Helped bring my friend here with a dog that wouldn't eat or drink. The building is isolated in the back of a street and has plenty of parking. multiple receptionists, all friendly, we got seen right away. To be honest, I have always avoided these places because I felt you have to be rich to have a pet emergency. My friend opted for "outpatient" treatment, which of course is far cheaper than having your pet stay here. Naturally all kinds of diagnostic tests were offered. If you want to leave with your wallet intact, you have to lose some of your emotional attachment to your animal. If you say "do everything, I want it to live!", you are setting yourself up for poverty. They gave the dog fluids under the skin, anti-diarrheal, appetite stimulator, tested the blood for abnormalities. I thought the cost would be $1500, it came out around $1100. Well that might still be plenty for some people, but this place is first class, very clean, very professional. Your pet is your fur-baby, so worth it if you want him/her to stick around longer and healthier.

I everything went smoothly and I was able to take my dog home after her MRI. She seems to be doing better. I like that their follow up calls are part of their program. Experiencia fantástica: Cannot speak highly enough about the service at ASC. The service is top notch, and they have been highly communicative with us throughout the treatment plan for our pet, making sure that she's getting the best care, without trying to charge us/or make us come in for every small thing. We live in Brooklyn, and were initially daunted by having to go all the way to Yonkers for the dermatology appointment, but it was well worth the travel and far more convenient/efficient ultimately than most of our pet healthcare experiences to-date. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Experiencia fantástica: Took my pup in for an emergency problem with her leg. The place was welcoming, clean, fast, and efficient. The Front Desk staff were great. I waited maybe 5 mins. The tech took all the info brought her back to the Dr. The Dr came back filled me in ( thankfully nothing terribly serious) calmed my nerves and even offered to clip her nails. When I checked out I was shocked at how reasonable they were!!! My only problem is they only fo emergency medicine.. I wish I could used them for her regular vet care. Wonderful place and reassuring to know they are there!

Experiencia fantástica: I called this place at like 11:30 at night on a Monday. I ended up having to bring my cat in. I had Google some symptoms he had just to get an idea of what it might be. It suggested a urinary track infection or blockage and that it could be deadly to my male cat. When I called the office and explained to them the symptoms they told me the same thing. I was able to come in as they were open 24/7. The girls at the counter and over the phone were incredibly nice, personable, considerate, empathetic, attentive and really just treated me well the entire journey. I didn't know when I brought my cat in he was as sick as he was and that putting him down was going to have to be an option. The doctor was very honest, empathetic, and more than willing to give me multiple solutions and options as well as a worst case scenario quote. She was even able to draw a mini picture to help me understand. I never felt pressured and they explained every detail of charges on the bill. Nothing was confusing. Everything was laid out for me. I really appreciated the black and white, with the empathy. The place was so clean. It didn't even smell like pets which I couldn't get over. And everything was nice and clean that I passed. They even have a room just for people who are going to have to have their pets put down so that they can spend time with them on a couch and then they would remove the pet. They even had a bell on the wall to ring when I was done, so that I didn't have to leave and show my tearful face and go looking for somebody or waiting for somebody.

Experiencia fantástica: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I want to take a moment to truly thank everyone at Animal Specialty Center for the amazing care they gave my cat, Oreo. It took me a long time to finally write this — since Easter Sunday last year — mostly because of a combination of sadness and work, but I felt it was important to come back and express my gratitude. From the moment we arrived, the staff treated Oreo with compassion, dignity, and genuine kindness. During one of the hardest moments of my life, they made sure he was comfortable and surrounded by care. Their professionalism and empathy meant more to me than words can express. Losing Oreo was incredibly painful, but I’m thankful he was in such loving hands during his final moments. The entire team showed true humanity, patience, and respect — not just to my pet, but to me as well. Experiencia fantástica: What can I say about the 24 hour Animal Specialty Center located at 8 Odell Ave.? One thing for sure, they saved my 13 year old dog’s life. I initially thought my dog was having a stroke. She was symptomatic. I called the hospital, was told to bring her in. The minute we arrived, she was taken in by one the veterinarians. My dog was medically assessed. After several tests, the vet provided us with a name for my dog’s condition. All this took a few hours. During this time everyone was so understanding and kept us updated with tests, results and my dog’ health. I am still thanking God and His army of Angels for all the medical attention and aftercare treatment my dog was given. All the staff members are true heroes. ♥️

From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and professional. They treated Tyler with so much care, and that meant everything to me. A special thank you to Dr. McCue — he was absolutely wonderful. He took his time explaining every step of the process and was so patient with both me and Tyler. Experiencia fantástica: Dr McCue, neurologist, is EXCELLENT. Patient, kind, caring, gentle but thorough and complete neurological exam on the floor on a padded mat. Communication SUPERB. Collaborative, understanding, and dedicated. A true professional. Best veterinary neurologist I have met. Spend quality time, asks appropriate questions, provides good advice and does not jump to conclusions or procedures or MRI scans to make a diagnosis. Staff at ASC are also excellent, especially Jules, who is the consummate professional and face of the ASC from the time you first call the office to paying your bill. I have the utmost respect for Dr McCue and highly recommend him and ASC.

Experiencia fantástica: Brought my dog in at 2:30 AM and he was seen immediately by a veterinarian. X-ray was taken in short order after his initial examination. Further diagnostics required an ultrasound and CT scan, all done under one roof within 24 hours. Surgery followed and he is now doing well on his recovery. I have nothing but good things to say about the entire staff at this facility. As a pet parent I was treated with kindness, respect and compassion. All recommended tests and procedures were discussed with me and I was given an estimate of costs to approve before proceeding. In short, they took great care of my dog (and me). Having a veterinary emergency hospital facility that is as well equipped and well staffed 24/7 is expensive and fortunately I had the means to cover my dog's care. I wish he was on Medicare like me!

Experiencia fantástica: My experience was wonderful in what was a very difficult time. Dr. Sahara-Andrews was so very kind and sensitive but most of all very informative about my pet’s condition. Experiencia fantástica: Hoping whoever has to come here gets to have the same great experience as I did. Friendly staff from the front desk to the nurses to the doctors. I barely had to wait and they helped my baby Maltese when I didn’t know what to do. I’d gladly pay double of what I paid for the great job and service they provided for me and my Maltese. My Maltese gave birth 5 days prior my ER visit to 3 puppies and started to lose energy, seemed to be in discomfort, trembling, moaning in pain, and not eating her food. I took her to this place because it was the closest one around and let me say they did an outstanding job explaining what they can do to help and what I need to do after we left to help treat the issue. I payed a fee up front and they put me in a room and a nurse came in to ask questions. Nurse took my puppy and information to bring to the doctor. Doctor came back shortly after explaining my puppy has eclampsia and is low on calcium and nutrition along with a bunch of other things. All in all great service, great doctors that turned my horrible day into a better one. Yes I payed a up front emergency service fee. Yes they did mention the total price befor they did any treatment and I see nothing wrong with that because I’m sure people might skip on the bill after treatment or fight and argue about the price. Nothing in life is free. I’d gladly pay double for this type of service. They even put a cute little hair tie on her when she was returned. Experiencia fantástica: The staff is so welcoming and helpful. Dr. Karten was so nice and explained the whole situation about my dog (my grandpup) and how procedure would be performed. Went home with discharge papers about recovery from procedure and explained the treatment plan. I know my dog is in good hands here and it gives me hope we made so many friends with Dog parents there and the poor dogs that are sick there my dog has made friends with Hudson and others, and we can’t forget Mia who sits at the front desk and welcomes us with a little bark ❤️ I feel the love & hope . Experiencia positiva: Ready, set, go-get your payment of $260 ready just for giving them your pet's basic information and what brought you there-OK. Next-your pet is whisked off not seen again, until you have paid the, "final" bill!?! Wouldn't it make sense for you to be allowed to go with your pet? Just saying! Step 2-asked to go to a room to wait for the vet; still no sign of my pet:( Vet gives you an update, leaves. I am then greeted my 2 representatives who update me on the bill. Do I agree or disagree on updated;more expensive bill ?!? Step 3-once again asked to return to room. Here comes the vet again (still no pet) with more blah, blah, blah. She leaves and here come the same 2 reps AGAIN with an even LARGER bill! OK I get it, it's a lovely facility but it's not my responsibility (nor my pet's) to pay for it. "Discounted" price as I declined the mounting costs. Pay final bill first, then FINALLY my pet magically appeared. Beware of outer esthetics!!

Experiencia fantástica: I love this place every one there love what they do and it shows. From the time I walked in with my dog Cosmo I was welcomed and respected by every staff member there. My Cosmo was originally Dxed with syringomyelia by Whieplains animal hospital, but MRI ( Very expensive) but the financial team worked with me, and it showed differently with ASC; Dr Gutierrez discovered he has a devated disc (C3) in his spine; she then took her next step to treat him for his Excursiating pain it hurt for him to walk. He is know a happy dog pain free. I knew my dog was in good hands once I left him there for 6 hours. Animal specialty told me the entire time he's here you can call as much as you want don't worry about being a bother your baby is here. I ❤️ ALL of you andnI can't stress it out enough. I would highly recommend the place for your fur babies. You can take you family member in for ER and they'll treat it as such.

Experiencia negativa: My husband brought our dog here last night because she couldn’t open her eyes all the way and was breathing strangely. The first red flag is that they took her into a separate exam room and didn’t let my husband go with her, if we weren’t so worried about our dog he would’ve left then. They came back after their “tests” and all but shrugged when they told us that they think she ate something and to give her Benadryl to relieve her symptoms, that was the second red flag. This morning we brought our dog to our regular vet and it turns out she has Glaucoma. Long story short, don’t waste your money on this clinic because they don’t want to help your pets, they only want to charge you money for nothing.

For nine consecutive months, sometimes twice a month, we’ve brought our dog to ASC, and honestly, I don’t know where we’d be without them. They helped manage our dog’s protein losing enteropathy, and the impact this has had on her quality of life has been incredible. From the front desk staff to the techs to the doctors, every single interaction has been exceptional. We’ve had over ten appointments and truly cannot find one negative thing to say. From the moment we walk in, we’re greeted by our dog’s name and met with warmth, kindness, and genuine professionalism. It is so clear how much they love and care for our dog, and that has been the most reassuring and heartwarming part. Our dog went from being very sick to living a happy, well-managed everyday life. We’ve never had an appointment canceled, never had an email or question go unanswered, and we always felt fully supported. As this chapter of our dog’s care comes to a close, we will genuinely miss this team and the consistency and reassurance they provided every step of the way. We only wish our regular vet provided this same level of care. We cannot recommend ASC highly enough.

Experiencia fantástica: I’m kind of at the point now where I don’t think I have the ability to express in words the love and admiration I have for the crew here. I came her an emotional disaster, with a paralyzed 15 yr old dog in my arms. I was terrified, I thought I was going to lose my best friend. I went to the front desk and due to a misunderstanding on my end there wasn’t an appointment for me, or a way to get one. I didn’t know what to do, and while I am a grown man, I sobbed like a child in pure fear. I didn’t know where else to go or what to do. Instantly the front desk staff rushed to my aid with tissues. While speaking with one of the staff members at the front unbeknownst to me, the other snuck in the back to work magic. A minute later out pops my angel. Dr. Gutierrez. She came over and looked at my poor boy. She asked me a question about him and I instantly felt at ease. I got myself together and she took me into a private room and explained they couldn’t fit me in, but if I didn’t mind waiting and it taking longer in between patients she would come and do a little at a time. I’ve never said agreed to anything quicker in my life. She sent in a bed for me to put him on, as well as made sure I was ok. She came in, did some tests, explained in detail the whole way, then went to another patient. Came back did a little more then to another patient. She said to me “it’s not his time yet”. There’s nothing I’ve ever needed to hear more in my entire life. She explained all about IVDD, how it’s common in dachshunds and explained everything to me with such patience and understanding. She then explained to me what I was going to need to do going forward, and what he was going to need, and what the possible outcomes were. She put him on a steroid to help, I got the bill and I took my best friend home. I would also like to point out, I got the bill and was unbelievably surprised at the cost. I was expecting a tremendous bill but it ended up being unbelievably reasonable. I have heard stories they were expensive but I can honestly say that’s ridiculous. That night I emailed Dr. Gutierrez a question about the medicine dosage and was so surprised to get such a quick response back. 3 days after she saw him, 3 days after my world fell apart, I carried him into the bathroom and put him on the bath mat while I brushed my teeth. I ran out to the kitchen to get a cup and before I turn around he was standing there. He was healed. He walked out of the bathroom and followed me. This post isn’t just about them helping me, this post isn’t just about them consoling me, this isn’t even just about the care they gave him. This is about how beyond above and beyond they went for someone in distress. I have emailed the doctor numerous times now. It’s been 2 years since this happened. I still feel I need to email her and thank her with a picture update of my now 17yr old man. She gave me 2 extra years with him at minimum. He’s lost weight but he’s running around like a pup still and I don’t know what I would do without him. I couldn’t recommend seeing her any more. I don’t even feel this post does justice for the way they all came together to help us when we were in need and at our lowest point, and how the doctor makes herself available whenever. Thank you all. Thank you all so so much, especially Dr. Gutierrez. You let me keep my best friend around. You took away a pain I don’t know how I’m going to handle when the time does come. I don’t know what I would have done without you, and I would do anything to pay you back for your kindness. In the pictures you can see him lying helpless, to being in a warm bed with a blanket while waiting, to a picture this week 2 years later of my 17+yr old man.

Experiencia negativa: We had a terrible experience at this ER vet. Our own vet was on vacation so we had to take our dog here as she was in immense pain, when visiting they immediately started talking about the money which was rather distasteful. While there they said our dog needed her anal glands expressed so they did that and sent her home. After an hour at home she started progressively getting worse not be able to walk properly so we brought her straight back up. They went on to diagnose our dog with IVDD and charged us over $1,400 for X-ray and medications they said she needed. A few days later, our regular vet immediately determined it was not IVDD, but an ACL tear. Which is something an experienced vet should absolutely know the difference between. While asking friends we also discovered the same thing happened to their dog at this facility. They diagnosed him with ivdd and told them he will likely need a $10,000 surgery or he could be paralyzed, then when he went to his own vet he said it was not that but just athletes foot. He was completely fine after a few days soaking his foot. This is reckless behavior and this place clearly only cares about the money rather than the well being of the animals. Our dog had to suffer all weekend loaded up on unnecessary pills until we were able to get her to her regular vet where he gave her a brace and she was back to herself almost immediately. This misdiagnosis caused unnecessary stress, fear, and a financial burden. For an emergency clinic charging these prices, we expected far better care for these animals. Lesson learned. Always consult your own vet first if you can and if you can’t do not come here.

Experiencia fantástica: If you have to go to an ER for you fur baby which no one wants to do- this is the place to go! All staff from front desk personnel, to nurses to the doctor were very friendly and kind. The place was immaculately clean with no smell. We happened to go there and it was extremely quiet and got seen right away. The staff were very polite, explained things in simple terms and very understanding! I was expecting the bill to be enormous and it was affordable! I didn’t feel they were pushy about anything. I called back twice and have been greeted with kindness and professionalism each time. Highly recommend this lovely place !

Experiencia fantástica: I drove by this place the other day and I remembered the most pleasant experience I had. In October 2025 I brought my dog in because he had something in his eye and was squinting that eye. I checked in and they told me the price. It was a bit more expensive compared to other emergency care centers I’ve visited before. The two girls at the front desk offered me information to go to a place in Portchester that was kind of like a not-for-profit place with much lower rates. However, it was too late and that place was closed. I told them I was going to make phone calls to other offices to see if I can get lower rates. I ended up leaving and going somewhere else, but I just want to publicly say that I am so grateful for their help and kindness in a time of stress. My dog’s illness at that time was urgent but not an emergency. If I ever do have an emergency situation, I am absolutely sure that I will go to this office because of how kind and helpful their front desk staff was.

We were visiting from the west coast with our dog when she started experiencing signs of salmon poisoning, which is something that very rare here (but is common where we live). They will charge you go all of these tests and exams that by the end they will tell you that will need more tests and exams because the previous ones didn't give the answer they were looking look and charge you even more. When I took my dog there, they charge me a ridiculous amount and waiting the whole night to end to tell me they got no answer and no medicine. I took my dog somewhere else the next morning and there they actually help me and gave me dog medicine plus half a quester of the price!! They like to feast on the desperation of others! DON't GO!

Experiencia negativa: They medically abused my dog to run up the bill. They put him under general anesthesia for 2.5 hours for a superficial cyst. They also charged for "surgery room and supplies" twice to run up the bill to the maximum possible estimate. They also tacked on all kinds of things that weren't on the original estimate. Lastly, they charged for each instance of post operative care. I'm consulting with a lawyer for recourse

Experiencia fantástica: My kitten Ozzy had been experiencing severe daily seizures. Dr. Sarah Gutierrez (neurologist) is one of the best doctors I have ever seen for my pet. She explains everything in fine detail, takes her time, and extremely compassionate. Her communication with me has been absolutely incredible and she puts my mind at ease. Ozzy was having daily seizures before meeting Dr. G and he was already under the care of a different neuro. One visit with Dr. Gutierrez and he was seizure free. Ozzy ended up getting an MRI and throughout that whole scary process (as an owener), Dr. G and her amazing team updated me every step of the way and gave Ozzy so much love. I truly can not express how thankful I am for Dr. Gutierrez and neurology team. Technician Valerie was so kind and compassionate, and explained discharge in detail. There was an other tech (i am not sure of her name) who was amazing and also updated me along the way. Experiencia fantástica: ASC has successfully found a way to magically remove most of the pain and suffering that we experience when our pets are unwell. From my first phone conversation, to the follow up calls, I was beyond impressed. The kindness, compassion, and genuine care for my dog that they showed were overwhelming. I felt so comfortable leaving my little girl with them for surgery. I hope never to have to go there again, but would do so without hesitation should the medical need arise. Experiencia fantástica: The staff here are so great and attentive. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Even the ladies at the front desk know what they are doing so that makes what can be a very daunting visit to the emergency for you pet into a less stressful experience if you’re already scared or worried about your beloved pet. We came here twice for our dog. Once when he was a puppy and just recently 3 years later for a second emergency. Both times we were well taken care of. Thank you so much to Dr. Diaz, the nurses and staff for your support and care! We try our best to not have to see them again but if we ever did we know we will be in good hands! ❤️

Experiencia fantástica: Extremely helpful during our recent visit on Thanksgiving Eve. Provided a complete estimate from lowest possible cost to highest. Thankfully for us it was lower than the original lowest estimate. Staff was very pleasant and kind, it was fairly quick given how busy they were. Highly recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: Brought my cat for a check in with doctor McCue as he is currently fighting Neurological FIP. Had a pleasant experience from the moment I walked in. Everyone is kind and friendly and willing to help. Dr. McCue spent so much time with us. He patiently listened to everything I had to say, checked my little guy out and at no point did I feel rushed. He cares and it shows in the way he communicates. He called me multiple times while he was outside of the hospital to go over my cat’s results, as I kept missing his calls, and made sure to email everything over to me as well. He’s treating my cat with attention and care and that’s all I could ever ask for. I understand that my cat’s future is uncertain as FIP is a tough disease, but I feel at peace knowing he’s getting the best care. Highly recommended ASC and general and Dr. McCue. We drove from CT to NY and I couldn’t be happier with my decision to bring him here. Also, they answer phone calls immediately so that’s always a plus.

Experiencia fantástica: Our pup needed immediate attention on a Sunday afternoon and we were unsure of where to take her. We knew about ASC but had no frame of reference or recommendations. The front staff was kind and helpful. We were seen immediately. The Vet took the time to explain everything she had found and what our next steps should be. She explained the urgency and also helped to find us the right Vet to follow up with. If we have another emergency, we will be going back.

Experiencia fantástica: Brought my puppy in recently, as they were the only veterinary open near me at around midnight. They tested my puppy well and he is now back to normal and running around as though as if nothing happened . I had a great experience. Thank you for treating my puppy.

Experiencia positiva: You sit for hours with no updates as to what's going on with your pet. It's understandable that emergencies will be prioritized based on levels, but be courteous and keep pet parents updated as to what's going on instead of having them sit for hours wondering

Experiencia fantástica: The front desk staff, the nurses, the doctors, and really everyone there is truly gifted and wonderful. Their patience with me and their genuine expression of care for my kitty Oscar was refreshing and calming for someone like me with intense anxiety. They walked me through all the necessary steps and never made me feel dumb for asking questions and clarifications. Experiencia fantástica: I can’t say enough good things about my experience at Animal Specialty Center. From my very first call with Karina to the consultations and treatments with Dr. Angelo, Dr. Rosen, and Dr. Karten; everything was absolutely wonderful. Dallas was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor, and the team took the time to walk me through every option with compassion and clarity. We decided on palliative radiation therapy once a week for four weeks, and throughout the entire process, the care and kindness we received were incredible. Each visit, Karina greeted Dallas like an old friend, and it wasn’t just her, every member of the front desk team treated every dog that walked in with such warmth. On his last day of radiation, we even did a bell-ringing celebration and made a thoughtful card for me to take home. They treated Dallas like a human, and that’s all anyone could hope for when it comes to their furry loved one. Thank you again to the entire team. I recommend this team to anyone facing the difficult journey of cancer with their pup.

Experiencia negativa: I brought in my 3yr old Boston Terrier mix with severe leg paralysis...they immediately took my dog in & started on paper work(Finanacials).. My wife & i were told that an MRI would be needed & or surgery. Right off the top there was an $800 fee that "Had" to be paid in order to provide services...immediately once the credit cards were charged...we told that the MRI machine wasn't working. No sign was placed to indicate so. We ultimately paid $900 + only to be told to go somewhere else. I feel like they took advantage of my weaked emotional state & place Profit over Pets.

Experiencia negativa: The staff were very kind and pleasant. However I was very disappointed with the services received. I paid $811 for no real diagnosis just some pain medication and labs. My pup is still having pain and discomfort. They took no X-rays and did very little after waiting 4 hours to determine what was wrong with my pup. I’m very disappointed. Over priced services for no relief. I was advised that they could not determine what was wrong with my pup and where the pain was because he was being overly sensitive. So, I was charged to basically be told to give him pain medication that may or may not work. I feel completely ripped off and taken advantage of. Having to paid for services before receiving them and then being told nothing or that you can’t be helped is outrageous.

Experiencia positiva: The emergency fee wasn’t as hefty as another hospital near me. The staff were so kind and patient with my Scrappy Doo. Although he wasn’t immediately emergent, we were treated with care and professionalism. The environment is clean and calm for the most part since some animals are coming in injured or in pain. This was one of the cheaper ends that I saw especially compared to regular treatment at my primary vet and they we’re completely transparent when it came to where we should buy supplements and other medications compared to in-house. We felt that our baby got the best care he could get at that time!

Experiencia fantástica: We brought our dog for a CT to evaluate her limping problem. We found out what was causing that plus Dr. Sullivan saw a mass on her spleen. We opted for surgery ASAP with Dr. Sullivan. She explained everything and answered all questions - no rushing us. Melissa was very helpful and so gentle with our dog. Joelle made sure we had all receipts for our pet insurance as well as the surgical report from Dr. Sullivan. ASC is a wonderful center for veterinary care. Thank you.

Experiencia fantástica: Such a good experience. I came in with a stray I thought was injured and the staff was very clear in community policy, but also very kind and understanding in how they handled the unusual situation. I have had to come in with pet emergencies before and this has always been the case. Your staff is amazing.

Experiencia fantástica: The service and attentiveness of the front desk and clinical staff was amazing. They really showed how much they care about the animals and their families. I was very happy and very satisfied with the service. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs immediate and professional service for their fur babies. Experiencia fantástica: My Roxy (Maltipoo) wasn't feeling well. The vet was not available and they recommended I take her to the ER in NYC or Yonkers. I decide to take her Yonkers. From the initial call, the associates (staff) were friendly, professional and knowledgeable. They took care of my Roxy, no life threatening matter. She was back home a few hours later and doing very well. I highly recommend ASC in Yonkers.

Experiencia negativa: Very expensive. $255 fee just to be seen in the ER. Their communication was poor. They kept telling me 15 mins, 20 mins, 1 hour and I stayed for a total of 6 hours. They told me after waiting that they had a critical patient, which is totally okay but was not initially communicated. At the end, they gave my cat’s carrier to another person. They didn’t communicate that to me. I found out that I was waiting for her to return with my carrier only when she walked into the hospital with my carrier. I paid roughly $1100 for a urinary infection. Luckily, my cat is feeling better but I wouldn’t return.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Gutierrez and Dr. Sullivan are both skilled, dedicated professionals. They both stayed late at the start of a holiday weekend to perform emergency spinal surgery on our beagle. The entire staff at ASC are compassionate & genuinely caring. The facilities are clean and modern. We are lucky to have this 24-hour ER vet care nearby. It's been 6 weeks post-op and our little doggie is recovering nicely. Thank you Dr. Gutierrez & Dr. Sullivan, you're angels!

Experiencia negativa: I was very disappointed with my experience here. A test was run without my consent and I was charged for it, I was quoted $8,000 for oxygen with no exams included, and one staff member at the front desk was unkind when I asked about my bill. I did not feel compassion or understanding during a very difficult time with my pet.

Experiencia fantástica: All of the staff we’ve worked with are great, communicative, kind, and helpful. It can be a long wait during busy times, but that’s expected. And the facility is quite nice and they do their best to make you comfortable. They also seem to have a good system in place for prioritizing critical care patients. It’s an emergency vet and it’s expensive but I am so grateful to have it as an option when needed.

Experiencia fantástica: After multiple distressing and ultimately inconclusive visits to several vets in New York City, I was able to get a neurology appointment for my senior dog Monty at this hospital and I couldn't be more grateful. The whole team, there is compassionate text the time to listen and were able to diagnose my dog with chronic herniated discs. I would highly recommend the neurology team and all of the staff at animals specialty hospital.

Experiencia fantástica: We took our teacup Yorkie to see Dr. Sarah Gutierrez this past week and Dr. Gutierrez is the most caring, intelligent vet we have encountered. Dr. Gutierrez listened, had great bed-side manners, and gave a clear diagnosis with options. Such a gift for pet owners to have someone so honest and caring in this profession. We would not hesitate to come back and give the highest recommendation possible. Beyond 5 stars ! Thank you Dr. Gutierrez, from the bottom of our hearts, Jimmy, Judy and our furbaby, Juju!

Experiencia fantástica: From the moment I walked through the door I was greeted and everyone was very pleasant. Being a first time puppy mom and not knowing what was wrong with my 4 month old puppy was stressful. The staff here is amazing from the front desk staff and both doctors that was on duty. They explained all procedures and costs associated with the procedure.

Experiencia fantástica: I met with Dr. McCue regarding my poodle Finn. The staff from front desk to the vet techs were really nice and welcoming. Dr. McCue took his time to explain in detail what was going on with Finn and the treatment options available. They called me the next day to follow up to see how Finn was doing after his procedure. A very good place to take your animal. Kind, caring and attentive staff.

Experiencia fantástica: We brought our dog in to see Dr. McCue, the neurologist. He was wonderful and so was the rest of the staff we worked with. You can really tell that he loves what he does. He was very knowledgeable and took his time with us. We had a great experience and would highly recommend bringing your pets here.

Experiencia negativa: After paying a total of $2,511.51 for Zoie's emergency care, we are saddened that Zoie died one day later. We were not informed of the seriousness of her condition. She should never had been discharged after 6 hours, hospitalization should have been discussed. You are the professionals, and should have advised us accordingly. It is sad that the importance of "COSTS" took priority over Zoie's life. Needless to say, we are grieved and distraught. Very disappointed in the "professionals."

We take our online reviews seriously, as everyone at our clinic is very passionate about helping animals and we truly care about the well-being of each of our patients. We were disappointed to read your comments and how your perception of our professionalism and ability to communicate the severity of Zoie's situation was not clear enough. Her condition was serious and life threatening, as discussed with you by the doctor and discharging veterinary technician, as well as clearly defined in her discharge instructions. You were presented with two options: one for hospitalization and another for outpatient treatment. Your decision to choose the latter and follow up with your primary veterinarian was the option ultimately pursued. We are so sorry that Zoie did not respond favorably to the outpatient therapy and we understand how upsetting of a situation this must be for you. Especially if you feel that cost was the deciding factor limiting her treatment. That is never our intention. Thus, we do have payment plan options displayed at our front desk to help families in their time of need as well as offer referrals to lower cost clinics. If these other options were not communicated to you, we will be sure to review this case with our staff to see how we may better communicate and provide better customer service in the future. We encourage you to reach out to our management team if you would like to discuss further. Thank you for taking the time to express your thoughts.

Experiencia fantástica: I been bringing my pets here for emergencies for years. Usually happy endings with the best of care. Sadly I've also been here for a goodbyes. The staff is excellent. Always fully explaining everything and the pros and cons. Had one of my previous chows ccl repaired and he walked and ran like nothing happened. Had a female chow get an emergency hysterectomy and later bladder stone removal. Never any problem. 24/7/365. We even went in a terrible snow storm and they were fully staffed. Recently brought my latest chow rescue for diarrhea. They took care of her immediately and provided medicine and simple to follow instructions for dosing and feeding. She's recovering nicely. So if you ever need a quick vet visit this is the best place around here. As a side note I tried to get an appointment with my vet who couldn't fit her in for a week. Then I started seeing blood in her stool and got scared. But ASC explained it was all part of the colitis they started treating her for and she'd be fine. It's nice to know when you need help right away, they're there!
